love being insane about weather report and i need to spew my thoughts about him and pucci and their stories aligning greatly with those told about cain and abel. as well as emporio being awfully similar to seth- cain and abel's lesser known younger brother. a LOT of biblical talk which i know most people aren't fond of, so it's going under a read more.

the story of cain and abel is so widely known, but i don't think most people know everything - such as the upbringing, the buildup, and the inevitable downfall of the two. the story of cain and abel have been done over and over, each told a varying degree of success, so i think it's interesting to see araki's version of it. (if he even intended the similarities to be there, which could be possible. but i don't doubt it since he is quite well versed in christianity / the imagery.) honestly, when you think about it at first ... the similarities don't seem to be there besides the obvious "pucci killed his brother and betrayed him" since weather got in the way of him achieving heaven. but the longer you look, the more you can see the similarities. so please bear with me as we try to unscramble these thoughts together and best explain the betrayal story of cain and abel, and how seth comes in to save humanity. the most striking for me is the usage and importance of weather report's disk. when cain strikes abel, he is coated in the blood of his brother and because of this- the blood of abel that's staining his clothing, cain would never be able to reach heaven and inevitably leads to his downfall. the blood of abel preventing cain's entry in heaven reminds me a lot of the final showdown between pucci and emporio- the final stretch before gaining eternal greatness, where he is stopped by emoprio's utilization of weather report's disk, effectively preventing him from achieving heaven. while not quite the same, weather report's disk act's as the perfect replacement for abel's blood- a final haunting reminder of the killing of his brethren, now stopping pucci within his tracks and being used against him despite being so close to heaven even after his endless offerings. this is also where emporio's role of seth comes into play- and, in relation to cain and abel, seth services as a replacement for abel after his death- essentially becoming abel's new mouthpiece and ushers in our current humanity. which emporio does after weather's death, acting as his mouthpiece and successfully helping joylne create a new humanity- all while the disk comes back to haunt pucci and prevent him from achieving his goal. it's beautifully poetic, in a way. while obviously not shared by blood, the bond between emporio and weather cannot be underestimated. they had a great deal of trust in each other and it's clear weather even seemingly regarded emporio as a little brother to him, going to immense lengths to keep him safe. there's a lot more in relation to weather report and other biblical allegories- such as heavy weather being triggered subconsciously by weather's hatred for humanity, turning anyone affected by the rainbows into snails. the important bit is the snails, and how snails are thought of as "the symbol of the wicked passing away" within the bible- obviously signifying how weather truly feels about humanity and how vile and "slimey" it has become when regaining his memory. he can feel at ease knowing there will be no more wickedness plaguing humanity anymore. don't know how to properly conclude these thoughts. just hoping my rambles are coherent and don't seem too far stretched, especially since i do believe, in some way, this may be araki's personal retelling of cain and abel to some extent. the man is obviously into christianity and it's aesthetic's, it's not like jesus christ isn't an actual character in the damn series unironically 😭 but i hope theres some cohesion when explaining these thoughts because whew there’s a lot of them.

so uh, i had this jotaro fic idea, here's the draft synopsis/summary that i made like, almost a month ago ????

years later after you and jotaro's divorce, jolyne slowly realized the weight it has been giving on your shoulders. the usual sparkle in your eyes gone, the stares you usually give to families with both parents present and a loving partner: jolyne was still a child that time but as she grew up, the hurt that brews inside of you became apparent as years had gone by.

one time when she was a child, she realized that the time where you were gone for two weeks, you were in a hotel, crying your eyes out, while kakyoin, polnareff, avdol, and even joseph took turns on taking care of jolyne while you were gone. as a mother, you couldn't bear nor didn't have the time to bawl your eyes out after the divorce and you're sure as hell that you wouldn't want your child witnessing you in your misery. so once you got the leave you were waiting for from your company, you booked a room and stayed there until you cried your heart out.

seeing the damaged it had done to you, jolyne— a decade after— made it as her life mission to go back in the past and stop both you and jotaro from being together. she just wants you to be happy again, and be free from the heavy feeling of your heart once and for all.

even if it means that her existence will be no more.

hard swerve into jojoposting. anyway just realized that thru like, parts 3-5, araki kinda has this thing going on where it’s like— the main protags are kinda overshadowed by the side characters, in terms of Feeling They Affect The Story/drive it

this is most grievous for part 3, where jotaro kinda does a lot of fuck all until developing his own deus ex machina at the final battle thru sheer will. it’s not god-awful, and jotaro as a character gets elevated during his other part appearances at least

part 4 is better with it, josuke is more active and lively. koichi kinda has polnareff syndrome (“you would think this guy’s the main character”) but a lot more finessed. okuyasu also sometimes overshadows josuke imo in terms of motivation and determination, and in the end, the final fight isnt even ended by josuke. at the same time i do think this is fine for part 4 especially, given the whole focal point is that of Community here

part 5 its like. i love u part 5 and giorno’s placid personality doesnt rub ME the wrong way. his ending deus ex machina is done better than jotaro’s, has a bit more basis. and like part 4, i do also suppose that the main gang themselves ARE the point (whereas giorno often in and of himself is lauded as a symbol of hope). bruno easily feels like the main character for a good bulk tho

all this to say part 6 is where i feel we finally get back to feeling like a jojo has so much more agency and pull on the story. jolyne’s got her own single motive and works for it, is very active and present, and all the other charas are great but i dont feel they overshadow her. and then the finale….. even if she doesn’t end up dealing the finishing blow, it still very much happens as a result of her actions and her will

anyway this isnt even me saying parts 3-5 are bad. i dont think a single jojo part is Bad. but just an observation

though tbh the most inane conversations in the world also probably happen here like avdol's asking if polnareff would eat monopoly money if avdol asked nicely enough.

yeaaAAAHHH I WOULD LOVE TO INDULGE ABOUT THEIR STANDS !!! ohhhh i know this is going to be a long one ... but i'm beyond excited to share my thoughts on them !! hehe i have been waiting for this i will start with a personal favorite, okuyasu's the hand !

the hand is surprisingly quite hot to the touch! in essence because of his hot - headed personality, so maybe don't touch him for long without risking a sting! and definitely smooth, metallic to the touch- so it's practically radiating heat like a personal heater! with it practically being a type of armor, very resilient and not easily affected by much!

next is polnareff's silver chariot, as well as silver chariot requiem !

silver chariot is rather cold and harsh- almost icy. though, underneath the armor is a rather fleshy and warm interior. while okuyasu's stand armor is meant to represent his harsh exterior, polnareff's is quite the opposite, dawning the armor as a way to protect himself and excel in battle to protect his loved ones. plus- it is very flashy, something he is very well known for.

for silver chariot requiem, i'd say it is hot- and i'm not talking a hot summer day, i'm saying it's as hot as molten metal- with silver chariot seemingly melting down and turning into a manifestation of his grief, anger, and determination. definitely signifying his burning desire to finally get rid of the arrow once and for all, as well representing all the years worth of pain and anger he had endured up to this point. this post is getting long ... so under a read more post she goes

anyways, next is avdol's magician's red !

despite being a yielder of flames, magician's red isn't as hot as one would expect. it has slightly warmer body temperature, only really raising in temperature when flames are in use. and it is very soft to the touch- with body being covered in small feathers that line his skin. particularly has lots of pin feathers that wrap around his neck, collarbones, and shoulders- making it extra soft to the touch! i feel like getting a hug from him would be very soothing. :)))) now we have mista's sex pistols !

these little guys are quite warm, and honestly- they'd feel like little bugs within your hand if you hold them! with their actual texture being akin to cotton, soft and inviting. it's hard to actually touch them, especially since they don't like being touched by anyone but mista and occasionally giorno, it seems. give 'em enough food though and they'll gladly cozy up to you! up next is weather report's weather report as well as heavy weather !

for this particular section, i'll be using weather's birth name- domenico, just to make it more clear, as to avoid mix ups. weather report's temperature can change at will, but it usually airs on the side of cool- almost always emitting a soft mist around itself like a morning dew. plus, it is quite soft. it has an almost plush like exterior as it is constantly releasing mist, with hands often being cold and rock hard to the touch, especially it's brass knuckles imitation. it is, though, a quite caring and preservative stand, showing great care and interest in domenico's safety whenever livelihood is put on the line. and while heavy weather doesn't have a stand form, it is still a strong subconscious manifestation of what domenico has become and the troubling turmoil festering inside him. with no real outlet to express it, the only way to release it is through heavy weather and affecting those around him from personal unresolved traumas and personal hatred. when active, it'll become hot and practically envelope everyone with heat waves, further causing mass hysteria amongst the snails and rainbows. the embodiment of like a kettle boiling over- affecting anyone that happens to be within it's range. finally ... we have joseph's hermit purple !

kind of weird to describe hermit purple but ... it is still technically a stand- and i'm quite fond of it. so i'm writing about it. it's surprisingly warm with a herbaceous texture- as if it's a living plant! and it's spike aren't as sharp as one might think- though still blunt enough to pierce skin with enough given force. plus, it's versatility makes it perfect to reach things across the room without even having to get up!
