Fishing in Technicolor: The Magic of Prescription Polarized Sunglasses
When it comes to fishing, success often depends on a combination of strategy, skill, and having the right gear. For serious anglers, one indispensable piece of equipment is prescription polarized sunglasses. These innovative sunglasses from RX Safety not only provide vision correction but also utilize advanced polarization technology, effectively enhancing your fishing experience. With these sunglasses, you can expect clear vision and superior protection from sun glare, water reflections, and other environmental elements, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the art of fishing without any visual hindrances.
When choosing fishing sunglasses with prescription lenses, consider these features
Polarized Lenses: These lenses are essential for any angler. RX Safety’s polarized fishing sunglasses reduce glare and improve visibility into the water. This helps you see fish more clearly and navigate with greater precision, regardless of the lighting conditions.
Lens Color: The color of your lenses can significantly affect your fishing experience. For offshore fishing in bright sunlight, consider neutral gray or blue mirror lenses, which effectively reduce glare. For inshore fishing or varying light conditions, lighter tints like rose, copper, amber, or brown adapt to changing light, ensuring clear vision throughout the day. In low-light conditions, lenses with higher Visible Light Transmission (VLT), such as yellow or copper, can help maintain visibility.
Durable Lens Material: Durability is crucial. RX Safety offers options like lightweight and impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses, ideal for rugged fishing environments. For increased scratch resistance and overall durability, Trivex lenses are also available. These lenses provide additional protection without sacrificing clarity.
Choosing the Right Frames
The right frames are just as important as the lenses. RX Safety offers frames that provide comfort and protection in harsh conditions:
Frame Material: RX Safety’s nylon frames are a popular choice for fishing sunglasses. They are lightweight and durable, making them suitable for all-day wear in tough conditions. Nylon frames provide the flexibility needed for extended periods on the water, ensuring both comfort and durability.
Fit and Comfort: Comfort is paramount for long fishing sessions. RX Safety’s sunglasses are designed with features such as snug temples, a fitted nose bridge, and non-slip grips to ensure a secure fit. These design elements prevent your glasses from shifting or falling off during active moments, allowing you to concentrate on your catch rather than adjusting your eyewear.
Style: Fishing sunglasses are functional, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be stylish. RX Safety offers a range of designs and colors to match your taste while providing top-tier protection. You can enjoy the perfect balance of style and functionality with sunglasses that suit both your aesthetic preferences and your practical needs.
The Wiley X Omega Prescription Sunglasses provide lightweight, high-wrap protection with 100% UVA/UVB coverage and distortion-free vision. They meet ANSI Z87.1 standards for impact protection and come in several options, including matte black frames with gray lenses, Captivate polarized bronze mirror lenses, Captivate polarized gray lenses, Wheeler Captivate polarized green mirror lenses, and Kryptek Neptune frames with polarized emerald mirror lenses. Prescription-ready, these sunglasses enhance clarity and reduce glare, making them ideal for fishing.
The Wiley X Kingpin Prescription Sunglasses offer an ideal mix of safety and comfort for anglers. With 100% UVA/UVB protection and clear, distortion-free vision, these lightweight sunglasses are designed for optimal performance on the water. The durable frame meets ANSI Z87.1 standards for impact protection, making it suitable for rugged conditions. Available in matte black with Captivate Venice gold mirror lenses or matte graphite with Captivate polarized green and blue mirror lenses, these prescription-friendly sunglasses enhance clarity and reduce glare, making them perfect for your fishing trips.
On the water, your vision is critical. RX Safety’s prescription polarized sunglasses ensure that you can see clearly while staying protected from harmful UV rays and environmental elements. These sunglasses reduce glare and enhance visual clarity, improving both focus and performance. They also protect your eyes from debris, wind, and water spray, ensuring comprehensive protection during extended fishing trips. In summary, RX Safety’s prescription polarized sunglasses offer more than just vision correction, they enhance your fishing experience by combining advanced polarization with your unique prescription. With their durable construction, comfort-focused designs, and stylish options, RX Safety ensures that you have the best possible eyewear for all your fishing adventures. The Science Behind High-Quality Sunglasses.
We often consider factors like style, comfort, and brand when it comes to sunglasses. However, the value of high-quality sunglasses lies in their ability to protect our eyes and enhance our vision. Now, let's delve into the principles that make this possible.
1. Shielding Against Ultraviolet Rays: The Invisible Armor
The purpose of sunglasses is to shield our eyes from the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Extended exposure to UV rays can lead to eye conditions such as cataracts and macular degeneration. That's why premium sunglasses are crafted with lens coatings that effectively block 99% to 100% of UVA and UVB rays. It's important to note that it's about something other than how dark the lenses are. Instead, the quality of these coatings determines their UV protection level.
2. Confronting Glare with Polarization
Polarized lenses offer an advantage for individuals who spend time near water or engage in activities like driving. These lenses undergo a chemical coating process for filtration purposes. By aligning the molecules within this coating, portions of light passing through the lens are effectively blocked.
Imagine it as having a blind window specifically designed for your eyes, allowing only vertical light to pass through.
This feature aids in reducing the glare caused by reflected light from surfaces like water, roads, and snow, providing a view and less strain on the eyes.
3. The Importance of Material Quality, Durability and Safety
The choice of lens material in high-quality sunglasses is crucial, like the coatings applied to them. Polycarbonate, a type of plastic known for its impact resistance, is commonly utilized. This ensures that these sunglasses are safer for sports and outdoor activities as they are less likely to shatter upon impact, offering eye protection.
4. Lens Colors and Coatings: More than Just Appearance
Different lens colors serve purposes. For example, gray lenses reduce brightness without affecting color perception, making them suitable for use. On the other hand, amber or brown lenses enhance contrast and depth perception—making them ideal for activities such as golf or driving.
Furthermore, some high-quality sunglasses have coatings on the back of their lenses that redirect light away from your eyes. These coatings effectively reduce glare. Ensure wear in different situations.
5. The Significance of a Fit: Ensuring Optimal Eye Protection
No matter how advanced the technology used in sunglasses is, if they don't fit well on your face or fully cover your eyes, their effectiveness will be compromised.
By selecting frames and wraparound styles, you can protect your sunglasses against harmful UV rays. These specific designs are intended to block the sun's rays from entering through the sides and top of the glasses.
In summary, these options combine technology and design to ensure the quality of your sunglasses. They are crafted to shield your eyes from UV rays, reduce glare, and improve your vision. Additionally, they prioritize safety and comfort as considerations. Therefore, when purchasing sunglasses, it is crucial to focus not on their appearance but on how well they protect your eyesight.

might be wrong but iirc you have (sun?)glasses for your sensitive eyes right? if so, do you have any recommendations on where to get any kinda non prescription glasses? i also have sensitive eyes... orz
I do but they're just shitty $10 ebay sunglasses that don't do much at all :')
A while ago I did some research to find out what to look for in sunglasses for particularly light sensitive eyes, and the best ones are polarized, mirrored, and category 3 or 4. Light protection lenses come in "categories" with 0 being basically no UV protection at all (think general seeing eye glasses), cat.1 having light tinting but not much protection, cat.2 being basic/standard sunglasses, 3 being really good, and 4 being "don't drive while wearing these" lol
Unfortunately, glasses that have all of these are expensive as all hell... Ones I had written down are Ray-Bans' Flash Polarised glasses or their Chromance range... Someone else I found recommended green-tinted glasses helping a lot and those are generally more affordable than friggin Ray-Bans. Black and dark grey lenses work best for me too, even if the UV protection on my sunglasses isn't the best. Aviators look cool as hell but they tend to slide down my nose after a while and don't have protection on the sides so light still gets in from certain angles
My best pair of glasses right now are these things:
"Retro Steampunk Sunglasses Side Shield Vintage Metal Round Eyewear Glasses," $10 on ebay (there are a lot of sellers of these and they're all the exactly the same—don't pay more than $10 for them). They've held up surprisingly well and seem to have nearly indestructible lenses; I throw them into my pocket regularly when I'm out haha Those side shields are awesome too. Biggest downside (?) is that they get compared to a lot of things...
(Crowley Good Omens, Alucard Hellsing, Ozzy Osbourne)
So uh... That can be good or bad depending on your aesthetic choices lol
These Heron Mountain shades by Vallon seem pretty good and decently priced, but the side shields limit vision and I wanna see if I can find sunglasses like these without vision-limiting sides for maybe a lower price first. If I do, I'll be sure to post about it on here
#asks#Recently I found out that Wellbutrin can cause photosensitivity so basically buying better sunglasses is inevitable for my vampiric ass#If I'm outside for more than a couple hours my eyes get really sore from the light even with my current sunglasses x_x

Having to travel through the expanse of the Mistwood to reach Umber (and vice versa), the Forest of Airaisal now felt about the size of a flower bed, comparatively. It's the same forest as the one where he'd met Vash's brother. The sunbeams are just as scattered through magically perennial leaves. The butterflies are just as affectionate toward him nearly a year later, even if this time his reason for being here isn't totally altruistic.
And, of course, the atmosphere's still oppressive. Dense as it is, the canopy for this spot of the forest has hardly allowed for snow to accumulate. It's still cold.
Ironically, in his attempt to appear inconspicuous, the pacifist's donned an outfit closer to that of his brief time being the Typhoon that cratered JuLai, the demon that razed a straight line through Archimedes. In favoring the veneer of simplicity over anything stylish, he's wearing an oversized black zipper hoodie; the rest are nondescript matching black clothes, his fluffy hair covered by a baseball cap.
Even his lost-tech pauldron's been left at Home, iconic sunglasses swapped out for a drug store pair of low-prescription reading glasses instead. Cotes was the polar Ward to Archimedes, but it couldn't help to be safe, right?
Nearby brush snaps underneath boots he'd recognize anywhere.
"Vash?"
The younger Plant follows the sight up, blinking surprised eyes at his predecessor. It makes the growth from his left shoulder more obvious—not dark and wicked vines, but the iridescent-blue wing of a giant butterfly—along with what's in his hand—not an otherworldly cube, but the shriveled shape of a fruit half-rotted.
Vash opens his mouth to continue, only to shut it in hesitation. The last time he'd spoken to his otherself had been before Christmas, before his Wolfwood's birthday, before the new year, and it hadn't been pretty. On top of that, he probably knew exactly why his younger copy was here. Undisturbed by the appearance of this newcomer, the shoulder-creature's proboscis continues to sip away at the fruit.

Apparently, according to my optometrist, if you have prescription glasses, you can still buy sunglasses as long as they fit over the frames, so I got some polarized shades and now I can do this

Finally updated my contact prescription and excellent bonus, the corneal dystrophy is much less visible and i can actually be corrected to 20/20 again. Slight annoyance; everything is big and bendy again. My phone is weirdly concave and flat surfaces are too. I know it'll go away but 🎶it's been awhile 🎶
(Also the doc brought me a glasses case (which i had asked for) and the 'sorry we blew up your pupils' sunglasses (which i had not - sidenote, the retinal imager thing? Fuck yes i would rather pay the $40 than be destroyed all day). I took the glasses case but said i don't need the sunglasses bc i always have glasses in the car. She pointed out that i was wearing contacts and my prescription sunglasses would be less helpful; i said oh, no, i always have a big plastic pair of cheap sunglasses in the car that'll fit over my glasses in case i forget my sunglasses. She went 'huh.' I went 'yeah the dangerous $1 aisle at target is great for that.' Now, are the cheapo sunglasses polarized? No. Which sucks, but better than being blasted by the Great Unfeeling Glowy Orb. She thought that was pretty entertaining too.)
#adventures in being blind as fuuuuuck#the tech walked in on me trying to update part of my file on the patient portal with my glasses down and the phone 3in from my face#and started laughing#laughed harder when i demonstrated what i would do constantly when wearing my contacts and trying the same#and how my mom would cackle at me if she caught me doing it#also apparently bc my eyes need 2x the drops for dilation and thus like 4x the time spent blown out they can bill the $40 to insurance#so like#hell to the fuck yes my dude

My God, this is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I have a pair of prescription sunglasses now and life is wonderful. Do this for yourself. Not transitions. Sunglasses.
Go to zenni.com. stick your prescription and pupilary distance in there. Find some frames you like then pick literally any combination of tints and lense coating under the sun.
Frames start at 6.95 US dollars. The coatings and tints are more and shipping isn't free, (and it shouldn't because because that's someone's job) but I got myself custom anti smudge polarized prescription sunnies for under 50 bucks.
I am not getting paid for plugging zenni. I think everyone on earth who needs glasses should know about the widely available high quality low budget online glasses store. If you have 15 dollars and know your prescription you can get glasses. Your optometrist is legally required to give you a copy of your prescription btw, withholding it so you have to buy glasses through them is a crime, in the US.

Combining Fashion with Function for Clearer, Safer Vision
Many consumers have to look carefully for sunglasses because they don’t have the luxury of choosing anything off the shelf. Prescription sunglasses are an excellent choice for these consumers because they offer a fashionable accessory while still providing the clear vision and eye protection you need for daily life.
Finding that perfect pair of prescription sunglasses is exactly why you should check out our store. Let’s get into some of the details of how these lenses are the best solution for your vision needs.
What are Prescription Sunglasses?
Prescription sunglasses are just that, lenses that have been carefully prescribed by a leading medical provider specializing in optometry. They are designed for the individual based on a wide range of vision impairments, like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and even those requiring some bifocals for night reading.
Unlike the typical sunglasses you would find at any corner store that block some sunlight, these are specialized glasses that can correct the vision, ensuring better clarity as you move through your day.
Finding a pair of prescription sunglasses that are fashionably up to par is a lot easier than it used to be. Instead of having a small selection, most major retailers will fit prescription sunglasses into a plethora of frame choices. This helps you find a pair that suits the shape of your face and personal style.
Choosing the Right Lens
Of course, finding the best prescription sunglasses isn’t restricted just to a single lens form. You may want to go with something that is polarized and reduces the glare, especially when you’re on the water.
This helps when driving during a rainstorm or fishing with friends. It also helps to look for options like different color lenses based on the activities you enjoy the most or transitional lenses that adapt to the environment (lightness or darkness indoors or out).
UV Protection
Absolutely look for prescription sunglasses that offer 100% protection from UV rays. That is because prolonged exposure to UVA and UVB rays can worsen your vision conditions, usually from cataracts and macular degeneration. Having prescription sunglasses safeguards your eyes so you enjoy more time outdoors and less time in the doctor's office.
Another benefit of prescription sunglasses is that you don’t have to keep switching between regular and a specific sunglass prescription. In other words, you can have a single pair of sunglasses customized specifically to your vision needs Without sacrificing fashion or protection.
Choosing the Perfect Pair
Step one: start with an accurate prescription from an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
Step two: look at the various environmental needs. You may like being on the water often, skiing, or driving when it’s constantly raining outside.
Step three: Consider the stylistic choices and fashionable themes you enjoy wearing the most. You’re looking for a frame that complements these styles.
Step four: at Ocean Waves, we provide a virtual space for you to see how these lenses look on your face without actually visiting our shop. This provides a convenient method for exploring all kinds of incredible styles.
Step five: Once you find the best blend of style and functionality for your prescription sunglasses, make a purchase, and wait for your package to arrive.
Our team at Ocean Waves is always doing our best to provide the very best customer service to any of our clients. That includes working with prescription sunglasses of any designation. Give us a call or shop online today and experience a difference of quality made glasses fit to your specific vision needs.

Hi friend, thanks for your helpful posts about epilepsy! I suffer from photosensitive epilepsy, I'm on medication but I'm looking for a pair of sunglasses (or rather, clip ons). I've seen that polarized dark blue tinted lenses help with reflecting sun, water and snow. Do you (or anyone else) have any experience with it? I've heard about Zeiss Z1 (F133) but they're not availble anymore, so I'm looking for recs on similar lenses.
Hi Anon! very good question and honestly not sure if I am deep enough in the blue sunglasses game just YET, to give you a good scientific answer. It's true, there are studies that blue polarized sun-glasses can help to alleviate the effects of sun, reflections and flashing lights. I in fact have started collecting blue polarised sunglasses, but sadly i lost the first pair i bought. One thing that is important to know, which, i only learned yesterday ? is - that there is apparently a limitation in some countries to how much your sunglasses are allowed to be tinted, IF YOU ARE DRIVING! So if you happen to be able to drive, your sunglasses shouldnt have a tint above 85% in Germany. I don't know yet if this applies to other places too. The reason is, that beyond that number you won't be able to pick up on essential contrasts and signals in your driving environment. Anyways - I have been using blue polarised lenses without any prescription in the movies for the movie "Suzume" by Makoto Shinkai and honestly the lenses made the colors prettier and more soothing for me. The optician I had the chance to chat with yesterday also told me, that pink lenses can be used to alleviate migraines! (i have yet to research and test this!) On the talk about which model to get. Unless you require prescription glasses to function in every day life, I have opted as a start for the first and easiest pair I could get my hands on in a Dollarstore (the equivalent to be precise bec I'm not in the US). The one thing I made sure of when buying was, that the glasses had a label that said that they were polarised. Apparently this effect is important. Wether your lenses are polarised can be seen especially via looking at screens (e.g.. smartphone)... i can't quite explain it, but there's something funky going on there. (not in the photosensitive way but.. like the way that things look... once you know you know). Usually, polarised glasses will have a sticker or label however that specifically says that they are polarised. PS: the pair i currently use most is sadly not listed online anymore :/ I admit I do prefer the dark blue tint lenses a lot over my regular prescription sunglasses :') the prescription ones are polarised as well but they arent blue.
