Thinkin' about how Townsville Alternative/Bloodlines is like, the anti-"average PPG fanfic"
Blossom is gay and single, while the other girls actually get relationships of their own
The Rowdyruff Boys are actually evil and aren't in love with the Girls at all, especially Brick who is literally Satan II (he is also extremely aggressive and eats people alive)
The Pokey Oaks kids actually do shit
The villains who aren't the Rowdyruff Boys actually do shit
The crimefighting is actually a thing that exists
It has Beam! Do other fanfics have Beam? I didn't think so
Butch is gay

PPG headcanons/plotbunnies townie and villain edition (non-crossover)
Mr. Green and Ms. Keane live in the same apartment complex. They meet after Keane's breakup in "Keen on Keane" when Green notices that Keane seems upset at the mail center. They start talking and--what a coincidence they both love kids!! A few episodes later Ms. Keane catches a nasty illness from amoeba-tainted oranges after "Divide and Conquer" and the only person she trusts to watch over her beloved class in "Substitute Creature" is Mr. Green. A few years later they get married and have halflings who help the new generation in Townsville stomach monster integration.
Robin's parents divorce not long after Super Friends and she blames herself because they are verbally abusive. They have split custody so Robin is only the Utoniums' neighbor every other week. She has an emo phase in middle school and cuts her hair short. Inspiration: the couple her parents were based on divorced IRL and she knows she's "an accident".
Following from previous, in high school Bubbles and Robin become girlfriends, Bubbles is the one who confesses first.
Buttercup taught Ace how to play bass during some never-made episode where the girls teach them to play instruments as part of a rehabilitation effort after Aspirations. ("If you want to meet girls, why don't you guys start a band?") The gang goes on to form a ska band with Snake on guitar, Ace on bass, Billy on drums, Arturo on trumpet (which he already knew how to play somehow) and Grubber on mic. They eventually split when Ace gets the call from Gorillaz.
Sedusa is Ms. Keane's elder sister. This is the reason Ms. Keane is more sympathetic to monsters and mutants. She doesn't have a lot of time between grading homework to keep up with supervillain activity, so she doesn't know half of what Sedusa has done. At some point they meet again and catch up, Sedusa goes low profile after "Aspirations" and leans more into civilian life. The girls don't find out the relation until after leaving Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, at Ms. Keane's wedding to Mr. Green.
Bubbles stays in touch with Wuzzy after "Roughin' It Up" and learns more about the forest and the Lumpkins clan from him. She even dates Wuzzy for a while and has a farmgirl phase, buying vegan leather cowboy boots that she wears into adulthood. This all helps her connect with and befriend Fuzzy himself, who learns to be more accepting through her. LOOK HOW CUTE THO:
Mojo Jojo ages very slowly due to his Chemical X mutation. His specific fixation on Blossom culminates in his focus shifting to either converting or dating her rather than destroying her (something he comes to understand as impossible). Even he doesn't know what he wants and has a lot of anguish over how he feels about her. Blossom's willing to be friends if he stops busting the city up, but she's never telling him that.
The Rowdyruff boys grow into manchildren and start "The Ruffcast", a manosphere podcast/youtube where they do nothing but play videogames, pump iron and complain about the Powerpuff Girls being too smart, too fat, and not feminine enough. Mitch Mitchelson gets roped in as the camera guy and occasional participant, which makes Buttercup dump him.
Princess Morbucks goes from wanting to be a Powerpuff Girl to just wanting to be a team leader. She recruits/buys her own team of girls to suit up and boss around, and this becomes a high-turnover job position for desperate people. Every other time the girls meet Princess, her lackeys are different. Daddy eventually disowns her not for being a villain but for being a tabloid magnet in college, forcing her to start over with nothing. One last ditch effort leads her to public records, and searching for any extended family to appeal to, she discovers her birth mother is Sara Bellum [A lesbian who used to be Morbucks' secretary--she loves Mayor because he's a harmless decent man who helped her escape that situation by hiring her]. Bellum takes her in, reluctantly, but she is totally immune to manipulation and sets her straight.
Ms. Bellum eventually runs for Mayor of Townsville and wins. Mayor Mayor retires to Pokey Oaks senior center. The girls visit him often and occasionally consult him for info about Townsville's history if needed--it's much easier for him to remember things from a long time ago, he's not so good with the day-to-day stuff. Bubbles volunteers there with Bullet, who opens Mayor's pickle jars when the nurses can't.
Harry Pitt running gag: Getting referenced as being in juvie and then prison, but it's never stated what he did. We know what he's in for, but the other characters never say.

30 Years Of Meat Fuzzy Lumpkins (MY THOUGHTS)
It's so unbelievable how this is 30-years old 😲 It sure as hell doesn't feel 30! And all the other World Premiere Toons (Yuckie Duck, Sledgehammer O Possum, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Hard Luck Duck, and Cow and Chicken: No Smoking) will be three whole decades as well! Let's gloss over how much the girls have changed since their first TV appearance in 1995 to now.
The pilot episode starts off at the Townsville Mall (which also showed up in Aqua Teen Hunger Force for some reason), and there is a jam-tasting contest being held, with Fuzzy Lumpkins being one of the contestants. He is very hopeful that his "world famous" meat jam will win. The Powerpuff Girls crash through the ceiling of the mall, introducing themselves as they land on the stage to test the various jams at the contest. They declare Jar A (the grape jam) to be the winner, which pisses Fuzzy off to no end. His anger outburst is still far more composed compared to the final show though 🤣 He invents a meat ray gun and wreaks havoc on the city.
Meanwhile, at Pokey Oaks, the kids are enjoying a normal afternoon socializing and playing when suddenly, the hotline rings. A prototype version of Ms. Keane answers it and says it's for Blossom, who is jump roping with some other girls. Blossom helps out by putting Ms. Keane in place of herself in order to answer the phone (she does this in an overly dramatic way). The mayor informs her that the city is turning into meat, which shocks her greatly. The girls are about to take off when Ms. Keane sternly reminds them about asking permission to "save the world". They fly through the roof of the building, much to her chagrin. Judging by the tone of Ms. Keane's voice, it's implied they've done this many times in the past.
The girls fly into the scene of the crime, where they find the townsfolk witnessing their city turned into a meat stew. And somehow within seconds, they've managed to rebuild the entire city.... using cardboard with crayon drawings resembling windows and doors. It's very obvious judging by the tape holding the cardboard together. Blossom and Buttercup interview the citizens, asking if either The Bologna Brothers, All-Beef Patty, or The Salami Swami (who actually did appear in the show proper), to which they reply no. A prototype Talking Dog cracks a witty punchline, which gives Blossom an idea. Before they take off though, Blossom and Buttercup have to pull Bubbles away from drawing on the cardboard walls.
The girls arrive at the Townsville Mall, where Fuzzy is about to turn the building into a slab of steak. Typical shenanigans ensue, and one of Bubbles' pigtails gets turned into a chicken wing.
She goes absolutely H A M
Predating "Bubblevicious" by roughly 4 years, an enraged Bubbles beats the living shit out of Fuzzy. She punches him, bites his leg, and even trips him before ultimately shooting him with his own meat ray gun, thus turning him into hamburger. Blossom and Buttercup are shocked by this, not expecting their normally gentle sister to be so violent.
The Mayor (who is still a slab of steak) thanks the girls for their hard work and everyone celebrates with a barbeque. The day is saved for the very first time thanks to The Powerpuff Girls.
And that concludes one of the World Premiere Toons! Along with Pat Ventura's cartoons and No Smoking, this has to be one of my favorite pilots of What A Cartoon. Unlike some cartoon pilots that are still trying to figure out their identity, it already knows what it wants to be. Right off the bat, it shows the girls at kindergarten, emphasizing their young age and the juxtaposition it comes with them being superheroes. Not all cartoons figure out their identities this early, but PPG managed to do that. Craig McCracken even specifically mentioned in interviews promoting World Premiere Toons that the girls were "5-year old kindergarten-age superheroes who fly around and beat up bad guys". Again, he knew what story he wanted to tell (and he succeeded).
Differences Between The Pilot And The Final Series:
The girls are noticeably taller and lankier in this pilot, even compared to the second pilot, "Crime 101". Their heads are proportionate with the rest of their bodies, unlike later designs where they're literally tiny bobbleheads. Blossom's bow was skinnier and looked more like a boomerang than an actual bow. And their eyes in general aren't nearly as humungous as they'd later become. They almost resemble their Whoopass Stew counterparts to an extent.
The art style in general is different compared to the final series. The lines are somewhat thinner, the color palette is bolder, and everyone in general just seem to have a "noodly" look to them. Ms. Keane, in particular, has lanky proportions and overlapping eyes, looking more like she was drawn by Jim Davis. The background characters in general look like they came from Two Stupid Dogs, which makes sense because Craig McCracken was the art director for the show.
The backgrounds have less of an UPA influence and (in my opinion) look like backgrounds you'd see in old Nelvana shows (like Beetlejuice, for example). IDK how else to describe it other than it doesn't have quite have that UPA influence like the final series does. Look at the Pokey Oaks Kindergarten building, for example. The final series has kinda a cardboard cutout UPA style, while the pilot has more detailed and shaded backgrounds. The overall structure of the backgrounds are relatively similar though; you still have that curved sidewalk, that little building in the back, and the brick color being magenta/pinkish. Both have the same signage indicating that it's in fact, Pokey Oaks Kindergarten.
The Mayor is significantly different compared to the final series. In the pilot, he is depicted as a squarish man with white hair dressed in a simple blue tuxedo. He kinda resembled a 1970s game show host (like Bob Barker). The Mayor in the final series, however, looks as if he was related to the Monopoly guy. His outfit has more detail too (sash, striped pants, monocle, mustache, and top hat). And to be perfectly honest, The Mayor in the pilot seems far more competent than the one we'd eventually get in the final series. I mean, The Mayor in the final series did start out rather competent too, but then he regressed into a toddler come Season 5. In general, pilot Mayor seems less goofy and scatterbrained..... and more neurotic.
Speaking of personalities, let's talk about Fuzzy; in the pilot, he's a rather intelligent hillbilly with a knack for inventing and creating things (think of an anti Professor Utonium). He's also less afraid to fit it with society, even entering himself into a jam tasting contest. In the final series, however, he's an easily enraged recluse who sees everything as a threat. Pilot Fuzzy is lightyears more calm than final series Fuzzy 🤣 If Fuzzy were to lose in the final series, he'd literally go ham, destroying the entire mall while screaming like a toddler throwing a tantrum.
Buttercup, while still a tough tomboy, is less talkative here. She only gets a few lines in comparison to her sisters. Craig McCracken even described her as "quiet".
The girls in general still have the same personalities, but Bubbles seemed to have a bit of a vain streak compared to the final series. She was never narcissistic though.... just cared a lot about her appearance. She's also voiced by Kath Soucie as opposed to Tara Strong, which is why she sounds like Lil from Rugrats. It is unknown why Kath was replaced with Tara in the final series.... perhaps it was because she was too preoccupied with other roles at the time? She was everywhere in the 1990s. Oh, and Ms. Keane is voiced by Kath Soucie as well. Blossom, Buttercup, and Fuzzy Lumpkins still have the same voice actors as they always did.
The Powerpuff Hotline is just a generic green phone in this. It is also a generic phone in the first produced episode too (Insect Inside); it isn't until Mommy Fearest that it looks like the Chatter Phone parody it's known for today.
The episode length is 7 minutes rather than 10-11 minutes. I think it's good they went with the latter format in the final series because there'd be more time to tell stories and solve conflicts.
These are all the differences I spotted between this pilot and the final series! Let me know if there are more differences you can spot 😉 And I'm gonna say it again, but this is one of the best World Premiere Toons.... hands down.
Here is a rare promo with brief interviews promoting the premiere of the pilot 30 years ago
youtube
There are more commercials and even newspaper articles promoting World Premiere Toons as well.... but I'm not going to post them here since I already have enough pictures. Also, in the video above, Craig McCracken basically confirms that the girls are indeed 5-years old, so you don't have to worry about asking how old they are 😉 He already knew what he was doing, and it was still years before the show proper officially premiered. Oddly enough, there's a commercial that refers to them as "first graders" even though they're clearly kindergarteners 🤷♀️ The sign in front of their school literally says that.
Now it's only a matter of time before Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, and Yuckie Duck-
Holy crap.... I feel old 😳

Invader Zim yandere for bubbles AU

The fluorescent lights of Pokey Oaks Elementary cafeteria hummed, a stark contrast to the saccharine pink and red decorations plastered haphazardly for Valentine's Day. Zim, disguised as a painfully average human boy, " just Zim," nervously picked at his mystery meat. He was here solely to observe human mating rituals, an assignment both repulsive and strangely compelling. His mission, of course, was to understand the weakness of humans, not to engage in their silly emotional displays.
That is, until he heard the abrasive voice of Eric Cartman.
"Hey, look at 'Zimmy'!" Cartman bellowed, pointing a greasy finger. "He's probably gonna spend Valentine's Day all alone with his green dog of his, ha! Nobody likes that weirdo."
Zim’s antennae twitched beneath his poorly-fitting wig. He shrunk inward, the words like tiny, venomous darts. He couldn’t afford to be singled out. Exposure meant the end of his Earth mission, and the wrath of The Tallest. He had to divert attention, and fast. His eyes darted around the room, landing on her.
Bubbles. The blue-clad Powerpuff Girl, giggling with her sisters at a table nearby. She was...different. She wasn't like the other chaotic, messy humans. She was...bright.
A strange, unfamiliar feeling bubbled up in Zim’s chest cavity. Something that wasn't disgust. Something that felt almost...pleasant? He awkwardly stumbled over to their table, forcing a nervous smile.
“Uh, hello,” he croaked, his voice betraying his usual confidence. "Um...Happy Valentine's Day?"
Bubbles, ever the kind soul, turned her large, innocent blue eyes on him. "Oh, hi! Happy Valentine's Day to you too!" Her smile was like sunshine, and Zim found himself momentarily frozen by it.
He spent the rest of the lunch period talking to Bubbles, discovering she was interested in animals, art, and helping others - all things that, oddly, Zim found...intriguing. He even managed to crack a genuine laugh when she showed him a drawing of a particularly goofy squirrel. This…this was not the behavior of an Irken conqueror. This was…troubling.
The bell rang, and as they parted ways, Zim felt a pang of something he couldn’t quite name. He told himself it was tactical. Building an alliance, extracting information. Yes, that’s what it was. But as the days passed, “tactical” turned into something deeper, something more consuming.
Zim began to focus solely on Bubbles. He watched her from the shadows, memorizing her schedule, the way she tilted her head when confused, the sound of her laughter. He started leaving her small gifts – a perfectly collected rock, a drawing of a very intimidating squirrel with laser eyes, a jar of particularly shiny beetles. He justified it as research, analyzing her reactions, but secretly, he was captivated. He found himself wanting to be the sole recipient of her smiles, her attention, her kind words. The thought of anyone else having her made his internal organs churn with something akin to rage.
One afternoon, he saw another human boy, a lanky, freckled kid named Tommy, approach Bubbles and offer her a valentine, a cheesy pink heart with glitter on it. Zim's internal censors went haywire. He felt a burning possessiveness flood him, a terrifying new emotion that made even his usual aggressive tendencies seem tame. He saw red. Tommy’s next move, a gentle ruffle of Bubbles’ hair, was the last straw.
That night, Tommy mysteriously disappeared. A "tragic accident" they called it. Zim paid it no mind. He had more important things to focus on.
His obsession grew with each passing day. He needed Bubbles. All to himself. The idea of sharing her, of anyone else's attention on her, was excruciating. He had to bring her to his base, where he could keep her safe, where he could have her all to himself.
One evening, as Bubbles was innocently flying home, Zim, using a modified PAK and a powerful net, ambushed her. He didn’t hurt her, of course, just gently, carefully scooped her up. Bubbles, surprised and a little scared, was too stunned to react.
He brought her to the deepest part of his base, a room he had meticulously cleaned and decorated with the gifts he'd given her, now displayed as if they were sacred relics. He gently placed her on a soft, plush chair, and looked at her with a strange intensity.
"Bubbles," he said, his voice slightly trembling, "You're safe here. You're finally safe. You're mine now. And forever. I will protect you from everything."
Bubbles, finally recovering from the shock, looked around the strange, dimly lit room, at the odd collection, and then at Zim’s face, a mixture of confusion and dawning terror in her eyes. She had no idea the dark obsession that had just taken root in the heart of a space invader, an obsession that would drastically alter her life.
Meanwhile, back in Townsville, Blossom and Buttercup, unaware of their sister's predicament, were busy solving a minor crime involving a stolen ice cream cone. They were blissfully ignorant of the terrifying new reality that Bubbles had unknowingly stumbled into, and the yandere Irken who held her captive.

What are your opinions on each Gangreen Gang episode (Buttercrush, Telephonies, Schoolhouse Rocked, Slave the Day, Power Lunch, Bang For Your Buck, Aspirations)?
Honestly, I enjoyed all of them! There's not a single bad Gangreen Gang episode. But to break it down further:
Buttercrush: Ah yes, the episode that basically created the Ace X Buttercup ship (and led to many childhood crushes on our favorite green gangster).
A good episode overall. It really shows off Ace's manipulative side, perceptiveness, and charisma. Yes there are Unfortunate Implications TM if you want to read into it, but I always just saw it as Ace seeing an opportunity to both get the PPG to stop beating up him and his friends, and seeing a chance to have a superhuman on his side. Though I could see a future where he and Buttercup could genuinely get along and become friends, when they're both adults and he's not actively committing crimes.
Telephonies: Peak "boys will be boys" behavior in a good way... or a funny way, at least. I mean, who else would be stupid enough to prank both Mojo Jojo and HIM but smart enough to actually make it work? I honestly can't think of another villain that could and would pull off those kinds of shenanigans (Also the scene with the Professor... someone please sit this man down and warn him about phone and internet scams. He's the type of guy who would receive an email from a "Nigerian prince" asking for money and believe it. Bless him)
Schoolhouse Rocked: Another hilarious episode that also raises some important questions. Like, before Jack Wednesday, did nobody notice that the Gang didn't go to school? Or, did they just not care? And why were a bunch of teenagers put in a kindergarten class? Was it because they genuinely never been to school before and Jack was making them start at the very beginning, or because Pokey Oaks Kindergarten is the only school in Townsville? And if that's true, then where do all the older kids go who are just regular citizens-
Okay, I'm getting off topic. But yes, it's ridiculous and fun and even a little sad when you read into everything. We get to hear some of Arturo's backstory, we get to see the gang be massive trolls and menaces to everyone around them, it's great.
Slave the Day: Rewatching this episode makes me feel a bit sorry for Big Billy. As funny as the "we thought you were dead" meme is, it's clear that Billy doesn't feel loved or cared about, even within the gang. And... he really isn't, aside from maybe Grubber. He comforted him at least. Like, he was so shocked that the girls did the bare minimum of being superheroes and saved his life that he was ready to leave all his friends behind for good and dedicate his life to serving them.
Though I will say I don't think Ace and the others ever genuinely believed Billy was dead. I don't think they're that careless. Imo it was more of a joke and they just assumed he got scared and ran off or the girls caught him and threw him in jail. But either way, it's clear they weren't that worried and if he ever did get separated from the gang he'd pretty much be on his own.
Also, the girls were definitely in the wrong for beating up Billy at the end of the episode for turning on them. He admitted what he did was wrong, he was sorry, and he changed his mind at the end anyway and saved them. Idk, that part never sat right with me and really shows that the girls have a very rigid view on their roles as crime fighters, seeing violence not simply as a method to defend themselves and others but as a just punishment in of itself. And to a point you can't really blame them; they're only five and encouraged to use violence by pretty much everyone around them, even when it's unnecessary. I hope they gain more of a nuanced perspective as they get older and realize that's not a good way to be a hero.
Power Lunch: I enjoyed seeing which powers each of the gang got! I know it's officially tied to whatever food they were eating when they got hit with the girls' laser vision, but if you want to analyze it as revealing a part of who they are I think you could.
You could say Ace gets ice powers because he tends to act cold and mean, even to those closest to him. Snake gets super elasticity both because he's naturally flexible but also because he's often forced to bend to the will of others, especially Ace. Arturo gets super speed because he's spent years learning to be the fastest as a way to make up for being the smallest, Big Billy is a rock because he's, well, big, but also because he can be quite stubborn when he wants to be (ex. him insisting to "help" constantly in Slave the Day). Grubber gets super sonic burps because he often finds other ways to make his presence be felt and felt loudly despite being mostly voiceless; whether it's through his grossness, his talents with poker and music, even his voice acting skills, etc.
Bang For Your Buck: This is probably the one I rewatch the least, but there's still a lot of great comedy in there. I enjoyed seeing the juxtaposition of the girls trying to find genuine ways to earn the money next to the gang doing what the gang does best (aka robbing little kids and old ladies). The running gag of Ace being oblivious to obvious solutions felt slightly out of character, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Especially watching the rest of the gang notice what he wasn't and being too scared to point it out.
I will say that I think it would've been better if at the end, the gang was able to buy the Destructo-Ray, got all geared up to use it to take over Townsville (or more likely, just blow up random shit for fun) only for them to find out that it was actually a snow cone machine when they tried to use it and they basically wasted all their money. Idk, the ending with the mayor felt a bit random and pointless.
Aspirations: Controversial but this is probably my favorite Gangreen Gang episode if I had to pick. We get to see the boys be both competent thieves and badasses and we get to see a softer, more vulnerable side to them through Sedusa, even if that vulnerable side is only revealed through manipulation. We see that they are capable of being scarily competent under the right conditions, and are desperate for love and basically anyone telling them they aren't worthless. I also headcanon that this was a huge turning point for them and made them decide to turn their lives around, but also fractured their ability to trust any outsiders for years onward, Ace especially.
I also really like the references to Buttercrush because yeah, what Sedusa is doing to the gang isn't that much different from what Ace did to Buttercup. You could argue that Ace's reasons were more defensive while Sedusa was actively seeking out the gang to use and I think there's some truth to that. But the nitty gritty of it is the same: manipulating someone younger and less experienced for the sake of power and personal safety.
#gangreen gang#anonymous#answer#thanks! I really enjoyed this!#sorry it's a bit late i was at work last night

I'm giving the DC run of PPG comics a second chance and there was a rly cute issue abt the kids of Pokey Oaks speculating on the girls' origin, and in one of their stories the girls went to space and got powers from a Silver Surfer rip-off (don't ask), but more importantly that kid also said that Mojo got his super- intelligence from the same source cuz he was in orbit in a satellite, and like
First of all thats RLY funny, and second it made me realize that the average person in Townsville probably doesn't know that Mojo's origin is directly tied in with the girls as well. I feel like it's not common knowledge but pretty easy to find out that the PPG came from sugar, spice, and everything nice with a dash of Chemical X, but how many people realize that accidental dose of Chemical X was Mojo's fault? That his supersmarts came from the same place? And that makes me think that my s/i wouldn't know that for sure, but I'm sure she would get curious abt it at one point, and I'm double sure Mojo would be rly reluctant to reveal his past to her ehehehe
#its just interesting to think about!! :3 like these are things i just straight up did not consider until reading that comic#and then i was like 'oh yeah how many ppl actually KNOW abt that...?'#i think mojo would probably have to trust cherry a lot to actually tell her tho. so itd be a while into their relationship#ok i gotta get ready for work but AAAH I LIKE THINKIN BOUT THIS STUFF 💖💖💖💖#ruby rambles#💜: loving you's a felony#🍒🧬: emotional processing lag

Do you think Ms. Keane went to college to study advanced maths/physics and ended up in teaching because she liked it better?
Who knows! Maybe it’s more rewarding for her to teach kids, or maybe she couldn’t get that dream engineering job of hers and decided to teach at Pokey Oaks for a little bit… then ended up just sticking around out of necessity. We’ve definitely seen her get carried away with her lessons before, so we know she’s at least passionate about it.

OK, here's my pitch for a live-action "grown-up" PPG series (which should still not exist, but let's pretend for a minute~). It begins opening to a slow sunrise of- The City Of Townsville! We even hear the classic Narrator (still Tom Kenny, come on). We never fully see this narrator, but we do see the lower half of his face as he talks and describes what's happening in the city (think of the DJ, Lynne Thigpen, from Warriors or Mister Señor Love Daddy from Do The Right Thing). As the light brightens, people drive and walk around, going to work, and dropping off their at Pokey Oaks Kindergarten.
The screen shows a split of two different things happening simultaneously; one side is little kids putting their backpacks in their cubbies, taking off their shoes, and sitting down at the circular desks as they wait for their teachers to take roll. The OTHER side is a group of people preparing for a bank heist, all old-school style with stripped shirts and scarfs to cover their mouths like wild west robbers. As the kids call out "Here!" when the voices of unseen teachers say their names, the bank robbers go through a check-list of their gear. When the teachers begin describing that their going to begin today by coloring pictures, then play a word game, then go outside for recess- the robber go through their plan for what their going to do in the bank. The robbers burst into the bank, fire a few warning shots, and begin barking orders for money. One robber tells a bank employee "No phone calls!". Immediately, the screen goes back to the kindergarten, where the HOTLINE is buzzing!
As the children look at it expectantly, one of the teachers answers. The voice we hear on the other end is a woman (Miss Bellum), explaining that bank robbers have been spotted at such-and-such address! The teacher who answered says "We're on it, Miss Mayor!". Now the camera pulls back, revealing the three teachers are in fact a red-head wearing pink, a blonde wearing blue, and a dark brunette wearing green. The teacher in pink, who answered the phone, explains the situation to the others, and they prepare to leave. The ask the TA to take care of things, which they promise to do while they're gone. The ladies go to the large double doors that open to the playground. Before leaving, each one mentions something like- "Remember, Calla has her meds to take after snack time!" and "Terry, share the crayons!" and "Ken, no more telling the other kids about what happens in the horror movies your dad let you watch!". The three women the FLY, surging forward with trailing rainbow of blue/pink/green as the kids cheer!
They arrive at the bank, where the robber lament getting caught (they had hoped doing this early in the day would result in the ladies being preoccupied at the kindergarten, giving the robbers time to get away). A fantastic fight scene ensues, with many POWs and BAMs (some of the shots mimicking the opening scenes from the cartoon). The robbers are dealt with and captured. The people in the bank applaud, and thank the ladies for the rescue. When the ladies fly off to leave, they notice another problem... then another... and ANOTHER! Each issue gets more and more extreme, eventually turning into a giant monster attacking the city! The ladies go through it in a montage, that begins with a slow pace, but as the danger increases, the fight scenes become more rapid.
Finally, the screen goes back to the kindergarten, where the kids are going outside for recess. Their three teachers land on the playground, a little battle-warn (teacher in pink fixes her hair because ONE strand was out of place. teacher in blue lightly dabs a little blood from her nose with a tissue, after she had been smashed in the face by a robot with wrecking balls for arms. the teacher in green simply dusts off her shoulders a bit). The kids happily welcome them back, and the teachers proceed to play tag and kickball with them. The teacher in pink gives the TA a coffee she picked up between the fights, as thanks for watching the kids while they were gone~
The rest of the series would proceed with that tone, the exact same spirit of silly whimsy AND dynamic action as the cartoon. Why are the grown-up PPG kindergarten teachers, you ask? Well, I find the fake-out of them answering the Hotline, not as students but adults, very amusing. Also, it just seems like a job they would enjoy doing, simply for the fun of it. Like, Blossom could be a doctor, or a lawyer. Bubbles could be an artist, Buttercup could run a demolition derby (where SHE'S the one who wrecks the cars). They could all be actresses, or perform in a band, or just about ANYTHING, because they're very talented. They probably do some of that in their spare time, anyway... but they don't "need" jobs or careers. They're super heroes! However, they have indeed grown up in this scenario, and they remember how nice it was to be able to go to school with other kids, having a place where they belonged simply because they were little girls. They really appreciate Ms Keane for being so nurturing, and want to be part of that now. Blossom loves teaching and sharing knowledge, Bubbles loves encouraging creativity, and Buttercup is actually very good when it comes to helping kids with anger issues and other problems.
Some of the villains are semi-retired and no longer threats, but still get up to shenanigans from time to time. Him looks like Frank-N-Furter but with lobster claws. Miss Bellum is the mayor now, and the Professor has his own research facility now. Princess tries to be popular as a "influencer", but nobody likes her (and occasionally, she hires people to be her "back up" so she has an evil trio to match the PPG, but it never works). The Gangreen Gang are chill (and there's a few jokes about Ace still getting paychecks from when he worked with a famous band). Some episodes would be the girls dealing with a normal grown-up problem that is ironically more difficult than super hero nonsense. Some episodes would be fun little nods to previous things from the cartoon. Some episodes would introduce new characters, good and bad. There would be a very deliberate lack of Mojo Jojo through the first season, until somebody finally goes "Uh... where IS he???", and they're genuinely worried about what happened to him, the the three-part episode finale is the PPG trying to find Mojo Jojo

Cute! 🥰 I'm guessing he's 5-6 years old and goes to Pokey Oaks Kindergarten, right? What will his name be? His personality? He also seems to be based off Craig McCracken when he was a kid; he said his mother made him a superhero cape because he loved superheroes so much growing up. His cape read "Super Craig".

a new PPG OC/redesign I’ll expand on later because I have an assignment to finish

what do you think about Mitch x Buttercup?
Best Buttercup x regular human ship not even close. They are that damn weirdo friend pair everyone teases about dating and they INSIST they're just friends but actually end up developing mutual crushes in middle or high school. A lot of fanfics [even ones I love!!!] make Mitch a little bastart bitch who breaks Buttercup's heart, but after Ace I feel like she would never dare to be open with her feelings and let things get to the point of dating unless she were convinced that person simps for her hardcore. I think every kid in Pokey Oaks knows it would probably be suicide to fw any of the girls like that, no matter how stupid they grow up to be. Except Princess who canonically tore Bubbles' heart out in a chapter book, but it's Princess, lol.
Mitch gotta get a job or something though, and because he is redneck trailer park coded AS FUCK, he will 100% be a blue collar boy. I can see him being part of Townsville's reconstruction crews and helping sort shit after Powerpuff business.
So, yes. Mitch is Buttercup's future blue collar malewife, and he's one of the only men she trusts. It is law.
Side note, I pray for any human getting shipped with the PPG, it is what it is, but in Buttercup's case it could actually contribute to her running arc of practicing self-restraint, which is nice.

Ages Of Every Significant Powerpuff Girls Character (In My Opinion)
The Powerpuff Girls (Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup): 5-6yo (chronologically one)
Professor Utonium: late 30s-early 40s (I'd say anywhere between 38-42yo is likely)
The Mayor Of Townsville: late 60s-mid 70s (possibly about 70-72yo)
Ms. Bellum: late 30s-early 40s (according to "Get Back Jojo", she and Ms. Keane are the same age as The Professor).
Ms. Keane: late 30s-early 40s
Talking Dog: 7yo (mid-late 40s in human years)
Mitch Mitchelson: 5yo
Robin Synder: 5yo
Princess Morbucks: 5-6yo
The Pokey Oaks Kindergarten Students in general: 5-6yo (a few may be as young as 4 though, but we don't exactly know that)
Mojo Jojo: I honestly don't really know; I'm guessing 18-19 in chimpanzee years? The way he sounds and looks makes me think he'd be in his early 50s if he were a human.
Fuzzy Lumpkins: 63-64yo
HIM: 1000yo+ (he looks like he could be in his mid-late 30s though)
The Gangreen Gang (Ace, Snake, Lil' Arturo, Grubber, and Big Billy): Ace is the oldest member at about 17-18yo; Snake, Grubber, and Big Billy are all 15yo, and Lil' Arturo is the youngest member at about 13-14yo. For the longest time, I thought Ace was in his early 20s.
The Amoeba Boys (Bossman, Junior, and Slim): all of them are probably in their late 40s-mid 50s.
Sedusa: roughly the same age as Ms. Keane, Ms. Bellum, and The Professor, so late 30s-early 40s.
The Rowdyruff Boys (Brick, Boomer, and Butch): 5-6yo (chronologically several months old)
The Smiths (Harold Smith, Marianne Smith, Julie Smith, and Bud Smith): Judging by his male pattern baldness, I'd guess Harold is probably in his early-mid 40s. Marianne is roughly the same age. Bud is definitely 11-12yo; his behavior screams stereotypical angsty preteen boy. Meanwhile, Julie is the same age as The Powerpuff Girls, being about 5yo.
The Narrator: I don't know about him either... I'd assume probably 40s judging by his voice.
Stanley Whitfield: mid 50s-early 60s
Townsville in general (background characters): A majority of the background children we see on this show look like they could be aged between 4-7yo, so about preschool through second grade. They're not toddlers, but they're not older kids either. And of course, the citizens of Townsville are all of varying ages... because it's a society! The citizens range from newborn babies to elderly people.
EDIT (5/27/24): I figured Lil' Arturo would've been slightly older than 12, so he's about 13-14yo instead. It makes more sense considering all of The Gangreen Gang are teenagers.

Gangreen gang visit Becky's school pages 1 and 2
The basic story here is that Big Billy had a bad dream of something happened to Becky and he wanted to go see her to make sure she is fine, Ace says they will visit her at work after she gets out of school for the day. But as the day goes Billy goes into more and more detail and by about 12pm all of them are now worried and rush to check on Becky while in school. While there they find her and immediately get distracted by school girl uniform!
Note: In Townsville I like to think there are at least 2 different schools (aside from Pokey Oaks Kindergarten) one is a public school with the middle school and high school grades, and the other is a private school where some of the richer kids go and this is the one Becky attends and in the future Princess Morbucks (why? because I don't see her being sent to public school Pokey Oaks might have been the only kindergarten which is why she was there but when her and the girls get older I see them starting to go to different schools)

FusionFall Headcanons: Newsprint Ninjas
Due to their humanoid forms and how they’ve manipulated paper around themselves, it’s likely that the creation of these monsters came from fusion spawns observing human behavior--specifically, kids making origami and things from the Collector’s comic book shop, which also just so happens to use a ninja mascot. From the name alone, you wouldn’t thing these monsters would be all that tough, but their speed and stealth may just catch you off guard.
Concept art for the Newsprint Ninjas show a set of color variants for the monsters. However, since these variants focus on clothing while the final design in the game still heavily show newspaper wrapped around the monsters’ bodies, I’d like to offer a slightly alternative idea. Bits of fabric and other scrap can sometimes be found on/in their bodies, such as the metal braces around their wrists; however, the color variants tend to come from what kind of paper was used when creating the monster. Those made from newspaper are the most common and are greyscale overall, but there are also those made from scraps of magazines, comics, flyers, etc. that can lead to notable differences.
There are at least four versions of this monster seen in the game: The Neighborhood Ninja, the Newspaper Ninja, the Newsprint Ninja, and the Darkpaper Ninja. The Neighborhood and Newspaper Ninjas in Pokey Oaks South were the first to appear, the Suburbs providing a wealth of paper material for them to easily pick up right from the start of the war: Paperwork from school dumpsters, waste by creekbeds, mail on doorsteps, you name it. Seeing as paper isn’t the strongest thing in the world, Fuse would--as noted in the Darkpaper Ninja’s description--later try to strengthen them using black magic. They were so easy to create in mass that, for a time, they were somewhat favored in his army. However, the Newsprint Ninjas would be the last of this type of monster, serving out their final days in the Future without any note of Fuse evolving them further.
Again, because of the paper, the ninjas have very little in the way of defense. However, this also makes them such lightweights that they’re fast on their feet compared to much more armored monsters. Newsprint and Darkpaper Ninjas are both noted to be quick and silent in their descriptions. This type of monster is known for charging at opponents with a nearly mute tread in order to deal a decisive strike from behind. So, while they may not last in a drawn-out fight, they can be perfect assassins.
The saying “death by a thousand papercuts” fits pretty well with their fighting style if they can’t catch their target within the first attack. Once the element of surprise is lost, they’ll aim to land a series of strikes while dancing out of reach of their opponents. Their intent is to break open the skin and leech concentrated fusion matter into the wound--this way, even if they fail to take out their enemy, they can put them into such a weakened state that either another monster or the infection itself will.
While their throwing stars can be used for a long-distance attack, they tend to keep them in their grasp. For one thing, they usually only have just the one weapon, so tossing it can leave them open to attacks themselves. For another, it’s also pretty lightweight, has the potential to sail off-target, and won’t deal as much damage as they can with it in-hand through brute force.
It would not surprise me in the slightest if part of the reason they took after ninjas was because of Lenny Baxter himself. The ninja mascot for his shop looks suspiciously like him, and I wouldn’t put it past him to try larping his way through a fight. He and probably some of his friends stepped out to protect his shop looking like that; the fusion spawns assumed, “Oh, so this is what some of Earth’s warriors are like,” and copied their movements after the bunch. It would take a little time for the monsters to actually polish their fighting skills as a result. By the events of the Academy version of the mission “Scary Monsters,” they’d be able to keep up with Samurai Jack as a group.
