Larry sat at his office and frowned at the paperwork. He knew that when he woke up on the edge of regressing, he should have called off work. Larry sighed and weighed his options. He could try and push his regression down and power through the day, risking him crashing hard...or he could go to Greeta. He continued powering through his work until he realized he was sucking his thumb. He wiped his thumb off, making sure no one was around, before going to Greeta's office. Larry knocked on the door before walking inside.
"Ah. Larry. What do you need?" Greeta asked. Larry, suddenly aware of how little he actually was, struggled to respond.
"I....small...." He managed to get out. Greeta's expression softened.
"Aww. How about you sit in this chair and I'll call your caregivers." Larry nodded, somewhat embarrassed at his boss treating him like a child, and sat in the chair. Greeta pulled out his paperwork and called Hassel.
"Hassel, I know you're at the academy today but could you come by and get Larry?" Larry pulled his legs up and rested his chin on his knees. Hopefully, Greeta wouldn't mind.
"Too busy? That's ok. I'll call Brassius. Thank you." Greeta hung up and looked over at Larry. He saw that, for a moment, she was upset at him having his feet on the chair before remembering how young he was.
"Don't worry. Brassius shouldn't be busy." Greeta called Brassius.
"Hey Brassius. I need you to come by and pick up Larry. Babies don't like wearing suits." Larry giggled at the last bit.
"Oh? I didn't know you were a giggly baby!" Greeta teased. Larry hid his face in his knees, still not used to his boss treating him like a child. The two sat in silence until Greeta noticed Larry sucking his thumb.
"Oh Larry. You shouldn't really suck your thumb, let alone with your gloves on." Greeta walked over and pulled his thumb out of his mouth and removed his gloves. Greeta returned to her work and the two fell into silence again, that was until Greeta looked up and saw Larry sucking on his thumb again. Greeta sighed and looked around in one of the drawers until pulling out a sky blue pacifier.
"Here. This is better than a thumb." Greeta pulled his thumb out and replaced it with the paci. Larry rested his head on his knees again and rocked himself on the chair a little. Greeta went back to work. It was like this until Brassius came. Larry was little enough that he didn't really pay attention to their conversation, just making grabby hands at him. Eventually, Brassius grabbed Larry's hand, not being strong enough to actually pick Larry up without hurting himself, and lead him out.
"Do you want to walk around Paldea with a pacifier in your mouth?" Brassius asked. Larry hesitated. He really really really didn't want to stop using the paci but walking around with one when he was known and recognizable not only as a gym leader but as a member of the elite four could ruin his reputation. The only other option was to take a flying taxi. When big, he tolerated them at best. When little, it was next to impossible to get him on one. In the end, Larry nodded his head.
"Oh. Ok. Do you want to go home or see Hassel?" Brassius asked. Larry held up two fingers before realizing he missed Hassel a lot and put a finger down.
"Hmm. How about we go home and then I can call Hassel?" Larry nodded and the two were off. Only a few turns in and Larry realized they were going to Artazon. Thankfully, the streets were empty except for Iono streaming.
"Larry! Brassius! Say hi to the viewers!" Iono ran up to them and turned the camera to them. Brassius waved and Larry did his best to act normal while also hiding his paci. Only seeing one comment questioning if something was in his mouth and Iono not seeing it, Larry considered the interaction a win. When they got home, Brassius swapped the pacifier before asking another question.
"Do you want to call Hassel first or do you want to change first?" Larry held up two fingers then tugged on his sleeve. Greeta was right, babies don't like to wear suits. Once out of his suit and in his Starley onesie instead, him and Brassius curled up on the couch and called Hassel.
"Brassius! Larry!" Hassel greeted them. Larry waved slightly. The three talked, or more so Hassel and Brassius talked while Larry watched or babbled, until Larry yawned.
"It was nice to talk but Larry needs a nap now. Bye Hass!" Hassel blew a kiss to each of them before hanging up. Brassius led Larry to their room and tucked him in.
"Goodnight Larry."
"Ni...Ni...ba..." Larry mumbled before falling asleep.

I saw @zeddertop-bugstersterster 's post about Larry and Greeta. It got me thinking, and I wanted to do a bit of my own analysis on the characters and their relationship. I wanted to link their post just because it inspired me to try my own analysis of sorts.
I'll post the rest of my thoughts under a readmore, because the post is very long.
Now to me, I think that Larry holds a certain sadness to him. In his very first battle against you, he talks about having to teach you that real life isn’t just being true to yourself. His star pokemon’s main attack becomes stronger when they’re suffering.
Almost implying that Larry believes that there is a value/strength to sadness and pain.
That he sees his current position in life as a mostly negative thing, but he himself has no desires to try and aim for anything better. Possibly even attempting to cope with this, by convincing himself that theres a strength to his sorrow. or that theres a value in continuing along the current path.
I imagine Champion Greeta is not a huge fan of this sort of mindset. Its the sort of defeatism that is generally very bad when it comes to education.
After all, without a desire to strive to be better, to do better, to find your own treasures to value and chase? Then why would you want to learn? What would you get out of school? Would you intentionally misread or stretch lessons in order to support your world views, rather then trying to challenge your world views?
We don’t see much of Greeta. But I feel that she doesn’t like that sort of mindset. That she doesn’t want that sort of belief system to spread around, and that she’s tries to counter that sort of defeatism whenever possible. I’m not 100% sure, but I believe that she’s done similar things in the past. For example, having Grusha join the elite 4, after his career derailed do to some sort of accident.
I find it interesting that she not only forced Larry to be on the elite 4, she suggested Larry chose a different type in the Elite 4. It’s only in the remach that Larry himself realizes that she was trying to find some way to encourage him. That she wants him to fly to the skies. To find something he’s willing to both fight for, and drive him forward.
Something more then just trying to summon all his strength though suffering.
I believe that she was hoping that a change in perspective, a change in his usual patterns, might help him find that certain spark in life. Though the protagonist, and their strength, seams to be making more of a positive impact.

Now that i've made some headway into the new games I can revisit this* little series of posts:
*[Kanto] [Johto] [Hoenn] [Sinnoh] [Unova] [Kalos] [Alola] [Galar] [Hisui] [Champs] [Paldea] [Paldea2] [Paldea3] [Teams] [Misc.]
Katy's name in Japanese is Kaede[カエ] from kaede[楓] the japanese word for the maple tree. While the link is likely the Japanese use of maple syrup as a natural sugar in a lot of traditional pastries, it's kind of an odd choice of design when the Japanese maple is so well known for its deep red leaves, and even other maple trees are distinctly associated with various shades of red, orange, and yellow... Yet she's all brown with just a dash of minty green in there?
I covered Brassius' name in the lead up to game release but his Japanese name is Korusa[コルサ] as in Colza, another name for rapeseed or canola. He shares a namesake plant with Natane and Nabana, in Sinnoh/Hisui, but appears otherwise unrelated. Weird that his design is plant themed yet totally unrelated.
Iono's name was one I wasnt sure of at first, in Japanese it's Nanjamo[ナンジャモ] which is a pun on Nanjamonja[何じゃもんじゃ], which is and exclamation that gets translated very loosely as something like "what the hell is that!?" What i didnt realize at first and that apparently Nanjamonja-no-ki[なんじゃもんじゃの木] is actually the common name of the Chionanthus retusus, the Chinese fringetree. Incidentally I also thought for a moment that her name was a reference to nanjamonja-goke[ナンジャモンジャゴケ], the Takakia lepidozioides moss. But Iono's English name seems to come from the "...iona..." in Chionanthus...
Kofu's name is Haidai[ハイダイ] from the chinese name hǎidài[海带] for a type of Kelp/seaweed(Saccharina japonica). The English name might be a halfbaked attempt at appropriating makonbu[真昆布], the japanese name for the same plant; noting that the ko...bu[こ...ぶ] and kofu[こふ] are written similarly. Anyway... Given the chef gimmick, the seaweed you have to barter for for him, and the fact that one of his town's unique features is a chinese restaurant, it would appear to refer to it specifically as food. It's also the logo on his apron.
Larry's name is Aoki[アオキ] from aoki[青木] the spotted laurel/Japanese laurel tree.(Aucuba japonica) Funny enough it reminds me of Norman's name being Senri from the Senryo plant, which is a similar looking plant with red berries, and they're both normal type specialists. His highlights are similar in shape and color to aoki leaves. And they seem to have gotten Larry from Laurel.
Ryme... Her name is Raimu[ライム] as in Lime, homonym with Rhyme. She raps, but she does not appear to resemble limes... Her sister Tyme is taimu[タイム] like the herb thyme. I dont know why the english localization felt the need to remove the "h" in both of these.
Tulip's name was already Rippu[リップ] as in Lip from tulip.
Grusha/guruusha[グルーシャ] I've done before too. He's named in Russian, grusha[груша]: "pear." His big winter coat makes his head and torso pearshaped.
Rika's name is Chiri[チリ] like Chilipeppers, the genus Capsicum. Some other languages opted to name her after cayenne, but the English name Rika comes from Paprika. Funny enough it has nothing to do with Chili from Unova, as his name, like all his brothers', was originally a reference to corn, not any sort of pepper.
Poppy is popii[ポピー] is poppy. Although they come in a few colors they all have the distinctive black center, which I assume is meant to be reflected in the design of Poppy's hair.
It's just Larry/Aoki again...
Hassel's name in Japanese is Hassaku[ハッサク] from hassaku[八朔] aka the "jagada," a type of orange cultivated in Japan, known for being larger than most oranges; about the size of a grapefruit.
Geeta's name is Omodaka[オモダ] from Omodaka[沢瀉] a tree called the threeleaf arrowhead/Chinese arrowhead (Sagittaria trifolia). Its also prominently featured in Japanese family crests, like that of the Sawada, included above.
Might as well get Team Star is in on this too! In the same way Guzma and Plumeria were kind of villainous alternatives to trial captains, for bug and poison type respectively, the Team Star sub-bosses kind of occupy a sort of pseudo/demi-gym leader status.
Giacomo's name is Piinya[ピーニャ] as in Piña:"Pineapple." His puffy autumn uniform vest and spiky hair makes him look like a pineapple.
Mela's name is Meroko[メロコ] seemingly taken from the Meloco... Of melocotón, Spanish word for "peach." Her red is a little too vibrant for it to be obvious, but her yellow to red hair appears to be peach inspired.
Atticus's name is Shuumei[シュウメイ] from Shumeigiku[秋明菊] Japanese name of a flower called the "fall-blooming anemone"(Anemone hupehensis japonica). It comes in a few shades of pink and violet that seem to match the poison type color motif.
Ortega's name is just a tiny tweak from Orutiga[オルティガ]:"Ortiga" spanish name for nettle, a broad family of herbs known for their stinging hairs.
Eri's Japanese mame is Biwa[ビワ] from biwa[枇杷]: "loquat"(Eriobotrya japonica) a tree with a long history of its fruit and leaves bring used for food and tea. It is sometimes erroneously called the "Japanese Plum."
And just to round things out a little...
Nemona's English name came from her Japanese name, Nemo[ネモ] from the Nemo nemphilia, a broad range of flowers known for their baby blue color. Oddly thats not reflected in her actual design..
Laughably Arven's name was Pepaa[ペパー]:"Pepper" and you would think it would refer to... You know... peppers. But given the English name, Arven from Mentha arvensis, it's actually a reference to peppermint which does make sense with his herb theme.
Penny's name is Botan[ボタン] from Botan[牡丹] Japanese name for the "tree Peony"(Paeonia suffruticosa) The peony has long standing cultural importance in China and by some proxy Japan, and is often compared to the Rose's prominence in Western Europe; this is incidentally why Chairman Rose's brother in Galar is named Peony. Incidentally this is likely why they had to name her Penny, as Peony had been taken.
Clavell's name is actually the same, Kuraberu[クラベル] approximating "Clavel" the Spanish name for the Carnation. He shares a flower name with Champion Diantha in Kalos.
Oops, first pass thru i forgot about the school faculty so i've added a post for those

Scarlet and violet Normal type gym leader
Spoilers for the game below
Sfw and NSFW
Larry Sfw and Nsfw Headcannons
Why are you surprised lol?
Sfw/ random head cannons
Has no sense of humor and if he did jokes never land because of his monotone voice.
This man has negative communication skills he will never say shit unless you ask him.
Has a collection of ties. His favorite ones are the ones you get him and the ones that represent his or your Pokemon. He will wear the most ridiculous ties with a straight face.
Dating is like the last thing on his mind actually he doesn't even think about it. Like sure he's had crushes before but usually he just brushes it aside and does his own thing.
He's so normal he's so boring his coworkers set him up... Without his knowledge. Of course when he finds out he's very annoyed by this but goes on the date anyway just to clear the air. Blunt yes, harsh Maybe, but honest.
However he can't seem to get the words out at the end of the date. A lot of people and I mean a lot of people. I usually bored of him or get sick of his completely monotone tone deaf voice for the fact that he just doesn't talk much. You though you just seem to enjoy his presence regardless.
But you though you think he absolutely hates the date, and you, I mean, it's hard to tell when he just looks so unamused most of the time... He did seem to perk up a bit when you talked about your Pokemon. Anything else? Nothing. At this point, you don't even know why you like this man. Your heart feels things, and you don't understand.
This man doesn't sleep he works three different jobs one as a gym leader two as the elite four and three as the Pokemon League accountant. He has a credit card to the treasury and is incredibly smart. Greeta and Larry's boss employee relationship is funny. Larry being an employee always thinks the worst of his boss always thinks he's on edge with them. Meanwhile, Greeta always wants to go drinking with Larry and is always wanting to hang out with him. Greeta thanks Larry is an incredible hard worker and needs to take a break.
Nsfw
Listen I know this man looks like a pure vanilla ice cream but you got to let a whore like me dream.
Dom leaning switch
Cw:rough sex
Because of his looks and well his you honest to God, you thought he was a virgin. So you were being gentle with him while your mouth was around him. You couldn't help but notice how hard he was grabbing your hair. Brushed it off as just a mistake. Until he asked rougher treatment. You nod he asks again, you smile and say " Larry I'm sure nothing you will do will be too rough for me-"
Suddenly his hand is around your throat and you sea stars. All you remember is waking up your entire body feeling sore. With marks all over. No way, it's all hitting you now your face turning red with the memories of him holding you down with all his strength( he's stronger than he looks you know) fucking you through orgasm after orgasm before finally he's done.
And suddenly he's back to normal- I-didn't-just-blow-your-back-out-like-a-god-Larry.
He's either extremely oblivious or absolutely fucking with you. Because he will just look at you and say " I apologize I've been pretty stressed lately"
Tldr: rough sex, no talking, stress reliever, fuck toy.
And to be honest he expects the same from you
Because bitch got masochism Tango energy.
No matter how much pain and teasing you give him they only sound you're getting back as a slight whimper, or a hiss in pain.
Has he gets close he still doesn't make a sound but his eyes say everything pleading you to let him cum.
Sorry Simp but he's not into most Kinks. Having a hard no on exhibitionism. but knows his sex positions. Mercenary and doggy are is his favorite but he's not opposed to trying new things. With rough sex and "light" choking
Light choking as in if you start being loud he squeezes harder. I would think he doesn't like being loud.
And no one will ever believe you.

I just thought this bit was cute.
This is something out of a horror film, though. Like the start of a scary movie,
Photos with the fam!
And my favorite part of all…
Larry: “How many more times is this kid going to heal her pokemon instead of attacking? I want to go home…”
My character: “I have 83 Full Restores left. He’ll run out of Icy Wind moves eventually! It’s all going according to plan! Hehehe.”
Oh, thank you. :3
Legit though I went into the Elite Four so underleveled. By some miracle I beat Greeta and Nemona. Oof.

So I think Pokemon Scarlet/Violet have been out long enough for me to talk about my perspective on the games.
So first to get it out of the way, yes the game is full of glitches, but that doesn’t really affect my gameplay (like due to being used to ESO’s glitches)
With that being said I enjoyed the storyline, mostly since the end is more connected to the Path of Legends, that the gym badge quest. My final team was Meowscerada, Ceruledge. Houndoom, Glaceon, Mismageus, and a shiny Dragapult.
Nemona is a fun rival, the friendly rival done right in a way she’s tough but isn’t mean when she looses.(Thou a bit too obsessed, you’d thing she hasn’t lost a battle yet until meeting the PC) She reached the rank of champion before you and is very passionate about battles, the final battle with her after the league was a close one, I tough I was going to loose and try a second time, but my Glaceon just hanged on and beat her starter with a freeze dry. Greeta was way too easy as a champion, definitely dethroned Diantha as the easiest champion. Maybe they wanted to make Nemona the harder battle.
Team star was was interesting and is nice that the game technically doesn’t have an evil team, these were just some kids that were fighting back against their bullies, and ended up getting in trouble for. I figured out Penny was Cassiopeia right away thou I doubt they were trying to hide it too well.
I wasn’t expecting the professor to be dead in the end or his AI being the final battle of the game. In hindsight the clues were there, saying the students id’s is something more correlated to tech showing the information rather than a normal person peaking. I feel bad for Arven sure at first I didn’t like him, cuz of the way he speaks about Koraidon/Miraidon. But the fact that not just Sada/Turo neglected him, but his other parent also left after he was born.(Not gona lie I sort of want ship Arven with my PC Lavander, thou it might go against the found family thing they might have wanted to do with him)
Not sure if the Sada/Turo AI telling Arven they love him was the truth, or something the AI felt was necessary as the AI is against Sada/Turo’s dream of bringing the Paradox pokemon and shutting down the time machine as they can’t find the logic on that desire if it destroys Paldea even having all the memories and feelings the original Sada/Turo have. Sure the journals you find in Area Zero might indicate some sort of love for their kid, and I get some parents need to focus on their job to provide especially if they’re a single parent, but even those parents have some time for their kids.
Not going to say I wasn’t expecting some heartfelt reconciliation but some closure for Arven, but it feels like he didn’t get any. I wonder if we do get DLC would be get to meet Arven’s other parent, which I’m pretty sure it the other version’s professor. Thou if Arven was angry at Sada/Turo for being neglectful, the guy would be extremely angry at being abandoned...so maybe best not to think of that.
It feels like Sada/Turo are like what they tried to do with Chairman Rose and actually succeeded
All in all fun game with a good story, definetly putting more into the NPC’s you interact with and get to know more about them. More on the Black/White and Black2/White2 well written that the other entries in the series.

Under the willow tree
Warnings
Death also spoilers for the new pokemon games seriously this is your only warning
BTW this can be read for my half pokemon au or a stand alone pick your poison by that send asks on what you like
It was rare for him to get days off, he specifically made it so. He didn't like being alone with his own thoughts anymore his body aches with the years he has endured. Watching empires rise and fall were boring now. He smoothed out the blanket under him as he looked over to the kid making a sandwich next to him. He sighs to himself he looked familiar he probably knew his ancestor or something.
He shuts his eyes and sighs feeling the wind go through his hair. That kid remind him of a woman long ago always working on some metal machine to fix something, he didn't care enough back then to find out whatever happened to her. He is pulled out of his thoughts as he is handed a sandwich by the boy.
".....thanks." He sighs and eats quietly and slowly.
The kid nods, he sighs again. It was a good sandwich. Oh the kid wanted something from him.... oh yeah that book he needed help translating. He yawns and holds out his free hand taking the book.
His eyes narrow munching on the sandwich it was really good... he wouldn't lie to the kid, and he decided he would actually translate it for him. He swallows. "You found this where?"
The kid looks away his hair covering one eye he can easily tell is scarred. "Area zero."
He hums that sure takes him back, maybe he should visit again battling for years would probably help quiet his thoughts. He bites his sandwich again looking over the worn book. "I can translate this." He closes his eyes as he finishes his sandwich with a sigh. "I don't want money I already have enough of that." His voice is quiet and monotone.
The kid looks at him with fear as he roughly snaps the book shut.
"I will however take whatever new and better sandwiches you make in exchange for each chapter I translate.....uh"
"Arven, sir." The kid responds nodding and smiling.
He sighs and cracks his neck. "Right... how did you even know I translate."
"Oh uh Greeta told me you used to work for a museum and helped translate."
He sighs, that woman he didn't like her. He only worked for her because it filled his endless amount of time he had. "Alright."
The kid gets up and smiles. Talking about how that book will help him find out the truth. To be fair he didn't really care but it gave him good food to help out so it didn't matter.
"Thank you mister Larry." The kid smiles

Finished Pokemon Scarlet ! I liked this one, once it got going
-- At first it looked like it got some Breath of the Wild in it, which concerned me because I didn’t care for that one
-- I was afraid of not knowing where to go, but you can just ask the gentlewomen at the gas stations...until they started recommending one of the Star Bases that I wasn’t nearly ready for/couldn’t access anyway ! But by that point, I got the hang of using the map all by myself, so it turned out OK
-- I liked Greeta’s suit...but they let you heal/save in between the Elite Four and the Champion ? ! Why, back in my day--
-- Wasn’t expecting Larry to be in the Elite Four; they can’t do that ! [in the same game] That’s too much for one man; no wonder he’s so full of Angst and Rage !
-- I liked the last section; it was like an adventure with all the pals you make along the way ! Just like in the anime. They’ll probably all get married when they grow up. And their Pokemon too, I guess
-- Professor Sada’s fate was sad...a ! They can’t just make a MILH Professor and fridge her like that--now Arven will be all alone ! Except for us, his new family
-- I was guessing that she would be trapped in the past, and Violet Professor trapped in the future; and you & co. have to work together to bring them back. To the present

Why do you think Greeta's boring? She's chairwoman of the school & the top champion of the pokemon league, all that work obviously wouldn't let her have much screen time
Idk just didn’t find her character interesting
#her job status didn’t really make her that much more interesting to me#also her personality doesn’t really sticks out to me#it’s kinda like diantha: she was just there for me despite her cool style and being a model#anon#responses

Larry left the office to where Hassel and Brassius where waiting for him.
"So, what was Greeta's 'protocol'?" Hassel asked, grabbing Larry's hand.
"Just some paperwork...asked my name...my little age...my caregivers and how to contact them...if I have any....it also asked if I was an age regressor or a poke regressor." Larry turned to Hassel on that last detail. Hassel sighed.
"I fill it out tomorrow. Let's go home."
Later that week, Brassius got a call from Greeta.
"Hello?"
"Hello Brassius. Larry's in my office and I think he'd benefit from you showing up. Babies don't like to wear suits." And with that, she hung up. Brassius sighed and made his way to Elite 4 office.
Brassius opened the door to Greeta's office and found Larry sitting on a chair. What surprised him was that Larry had a pacifier in his mouth.
"I have spares in my drawer. Gave one to him after he kept sucking his thumb." Greeta explained.
"Did you try Hassel first?"
"Yes, he was too busy at the academy to come get him." Brassius thanked her, promised to bring the pacifier back (cleaned as well), before taking Larry's hand and leading him out of the building.
"Are you sure you want to walk around Paldea with a paci?" Brassius asked. Larry hesitated for a moment before nodding his head.
"Oh. Ok. Do you want to visit Hassel or go home?" Larry held up two fingers, than only one.
"Hmm...How about we go home then I can call Hassel?" Larry nodded. The two managed to get home without anyone realizing that Larry had a pacifier in his mouth, even when they ran into Iono while streaming. Once finally home, Brassius swapped Larry's pacis.
"Do you want to change first or call Hassel first?" Larry held up on finger before tugging at the sleeve of his suit jacket.
"Let's get you changed."
Hassel sat down at his desk as the bell rang, signalling the start of his free period. His rotom phone flew out from his pocket to show that he was getting a video call from Brassius. He hit accept.
"Brassie!"
"Hi Hassel." Brassius then moved his phone to show Larry curled up into his side, pacifier in his mouth, and wearing his starly themed onesie.
"Aw! Hi Larry!" Larry waved a hand but stayed put. The three continued their call until Larry started dozing off.
"I'll let you go, Larry needs a nap."

Morty could understand both feelings, given that he had someone similar. It was Eusine that had gotten him to go on a journey so many years ago, and while he could still look back on those memories fondly, he did miss being able to chase for a dream so freely instead of being bound to Ecruteak far sooner than he had anticipated.
“I see, perhaps it is for the best then,” he says as he finishes the smoke and stamps out the butt. A shiver goes up his spine as Gengar cools him even further from the shadows making him glance over at it but not say anything for now. It was the first one in a very long time, it wasn’t going to kill him anytime soon… maybe.
He does take note of the bitterness in his voice at the mention of the Paldea champion. He hasn’t heard anything particularly bad about Greeta before… nor has he had much experience with someone hating the champion of a region. He can’t help but wonder what the history is between them, though he has a feeling that it is a longer story than the one that Larry just told him and one that Larry wouldn’t be too keen on telling him.
The offer of dinner does surprise him a bit, though he has no reason to turn it down. “It’s fine, I like listening to you. Dinner would be nice, though you’ll have to let me treat you to one before I go back to Johto… or let me cook for you if you end up there.” Surprisingly for some, Morty was pretty good at cooking both for himself and his pokemon, though there were very few that he got to show off to, Eusine being the only one whenever the researcher found himself chasing Suicune back home.
Larry remains silent save for a hum of acknowledgment at how lucky he was. He was lucky, and he knew that, but he was sure no one would blame him if he said he just wanted his brother back as he was instead of what he is now.
It's the mention of how strong he was that had him speaking again, it...not something he knew how to feel about. No one had ever called him strong before, save for his battle prowess. Not over this or any other part of his life. "Yeah well, Cas always had a way of kicking me in the ass. Felt like I owed him too. I know he wouldn't have wanted me to give in to our parents, but it was just easier that way, after everything happened. I'd been so deep in my own head, years went by and I didn't even notice." He still had days like that, where it was Monday one minute and then Friday the next, it had just become...normal.
"Even if I wanted to talk to the people from back then, I couldn't. Someone took my phone that night, and when I got out of the hospital, I was shipped off to work for one of my dad's friends in Kanto that night. I'm sure I could track a few down, but save for a couple good ones here and there, it's...probably better they think I'm dead." It wasn't really wrong either, that Larry was dead, and...this one wasn't doing much better.
"Doesn't matter now, I'm stuck here until Geeta decides she's done with me." There was a bitterness in his voice around her name, there clearly being more to the story than her just being his boss. "That, or me and Cas finally do get to run away together." An innocent comment on the surface, but there was the thinly veild implication that he would be dead before his time in Paldea was through.
"...Sorry, I...don't usually talk this much. Throat sort of hurts." Though it's said with a chuckle, Larry pausing a moment to whistle with his fingers to call Staraptor and Cas back. "Treat you to dinner? I don't know when you have to head out, but it's the least I can do since you let me prattle on like this."

Third gym destroyed.
Spoilers under cut.
This gym's challenge was... Uh... *rifled through notes* returning the gym leader's... wallet. And bidding. A'ight. The extra battles against the apprentice and Nemona kept it from being boring, though. This challenge, while a bit... strange, did make Kofu feel like a part of the world, due to how he interacted with everyone.
The battle itself was easy. I'm still overleveled but the gap is lessening. These gyms all suffer from the same problems gyms in other gens do: if you know the gym's type, all you need to do is put a Pokemon that's super effective against the type on your team and you're set.
Met the Greeta, the League chairwoman. Her hair looks like a road.
Immediately offended by the lackluster long hair options :/. Pokemon hasn't had any good long hair options since XY.
I have decided to go with a "blue hair and pronouns" look.

(I'm including my They/Them Rika headcanon for this.)
Larry sighed as he stared at the paperwork on his desk. Today was going to be long...and what didn't help was Poppy calling him every 15 minutes for a challenger.
After what had to be the twentieth person that morning, Larry sat down at his desk to get through the paperwork again. He picked one up and started reading it. He frowned, why was it so complicated? Larry groaned and put his head in his hands. He was slipping, and at work of all places. Larry stood up. If he was going to get through the day, he'd have to find Hassel. He hasn't seen him since the first battle but he had to be in his office, right? Before he could even leave, Poppy called him. Sighing, he made his way to the challenge room. The trainer was easy and he only had to use Ruffles. The problem was that Ruffles clearly caught on to him slipping and now refused to go back into his poke ball.
"Fine. Just follow behind me." Larry mumbled as he walked off to find Hassel.
"Hey Larry! Wait up!" Rika called out. Larry stopped to let them catch up.
"What is it?" Larry hoped he sounded normal.
"During the fight, I got a message from the front desk. Brassius stopped by to see you and Hass for lunch."
"Oh. Thank you for telling me." Rika nodded before going back to their own duties. Larry walked to Hassel's office.
"Larry!" Hassel hugged him as soon as he stepped in. Larry hugged back.
"Brass stopped by for lunch."
"Well then! We shouldn-"
"Mr. Larry!" Poppy called out. Larry sighed.
"Sorry, I have to go." Hassel waved to Larry as he headed back to the challenge room. The fight didn't go as well, he won with only his tropius, Banana, and his Alteria, Cloudy. The frustration caused him to slip enough that he had tears.
"You ok Larry?" Rika asked concerned.
"I-im fine." Larry said, wiping the tears away before Poppy could ask.
"I'm going to go find Hassel." Larry quickly healed his pokemon before leaving. He found Hassel in the lobby with Brassius.
"Larry!" Brassius ran up and kissed him. Larry simply laid his head on Brassius shoulder.
"Long day?" Brassius asked. Larry hesitated before responding.
"small..." he whispered.
"Oh you poor thing..." Brassius led Larry over to Hassel.
"He's small." Brassius quietly explained.
"Do you know how small you are?" Hassel asked Larry.
"Months..." Larry mumbled, saying he wasn't even a year old.
"Too young to be in the elite four. Hassel, you take Larry to the picnic spot, I'm going to see if I can convince Greeta to let Larry go for the rest of the day." Brassius explained.
"She won't...too many challenges...." Larry mumbled again, trying to stay big. Brassius was about to speak when, as if on cue, Greeta showed up.
"Larry! Challenger! Let's go!" Larry sighed and followed her to the challenge room. When he lost, he called for Hassel and practically stomped his way to the sidelines with Rika and Poppy.
"Mr.Larry, are you ok?" Poppy asked.
"Yes, today is just stressful." He hoped he sounded big. When Hassel won and the challenger left, he walked over to the three.
"Hassel, what's up with Larry?" Rika asked, crossing their arms. Before Hassel could come up with an excuse, another trainer walked in.
"I hate it when Greeta double books challengers." Rika sighed. The trainer managed to get to Larry. Even though he had slipped enough to fumble his poke balls and throws, and almost slipped so far he couldn't give commands to his pokemon, he still managed to win. As soon as the trainer left, he went straight to Hassel, no longer having the energy to even pretend to be big.
"Wait...this is a shot in the dark....but....is....does Larry....age regress?" Rika asked. Hassel was surprised Rika knew what that was but nodded.
"That explains his behavior..."
"What's wrong with Mr.Larry?" Poppy asked, concerned.
"Well...Mr.Larry does a thing called age regression. When things get too stressful, his brain handles it by making him younger. His body is still the same age, but his brain isn't." Rika explained.
"So...Mr.Larry is younger than me right now?" Poppy asked.
"Yes. Right now, Larry is the youngest...not even a year old..." Hassel mumbled the last bit but both Rika and Poppy understood.
"You take him to Brassius, I'll talk to Greeta." Rika left, searching for the champion. Poppy opened up her key shaped purse and pulled out a doll.
"Here you go Mr.Larry. You can have her until you're big again." Poppy handed the doll over. Larry took it and held it close.
"Thank you Miss.Poppy." Hassel said before taking Larry by the hand and finding Brassius at the picnic spot.
"Larry! Hassel!" Brassius patted the spots next to him on the blanket. Hassel sat on his right while Larry sat on his left.
"Where'd you get your dollie?" Brassius asked.
"Poppy gave it to him. Said he could keep it until he was big again. He didn't have the energy to keep pretending to be big after the last fight. Rika's talking to Greeta."
"Well then, I'm glad I went home and grabbed his bottle and pacifier then." Brassius brought out the sandwiches he prepared and the three ate, Hassel and Brassius taking turns to feed Larry. As Larry drank the angel milk Brassius had made for him, Greeta and Rika walked up.
"See? I wasn't lying." Rika gestured to Larry drinking from his bottle. Larry looked away, a little embarrassed but too little to care.
"When Larry's big again, have him come find me. I've had gym leaders and elite four members in the past regress. I made a protocol for this." Greeta waved a hand as she spoke before walking off.
"How's the little guy doing?" Rika asked. Larry looked over, done with his bottle.
"I think he's doing better than earlier in the day...eating lunch is less stressful than fighting challengers." Brassius half joked as he traded Larry's bottle for his pacifier.
"Well, enjoy your afternoon guys!" Rika called before heading back to the elite four office. Larry curled up closer to Brassius and yawned.
"Is the little komala getting sleepy?" Hassel asked. Larry responded with a small whine before closing his eyes. Maybe today would be shorter than he thought.
