I’ve had a few thoughts about the holiday update with Stollen Cookie and Strawberry Cream cookie. This is more or less me thinking about what we know about them, from the short we had.
Something i've noticed is that we don’t actually know either of their ages.
A lot of people view Stollen Cookie as a child, and Strawberry cream Cookie as an adult. However, there’s nothing really saying that either character is an adult or child. They are, however, both in the same school class, working on the same graduate exam.
We know that Tiramisu is a kid, and they drive a train. Milky Way is also said to be a younger character, and they’re also a train conductor, but their age is a little more ambiguous. The land of dreams thing makes that a little harder to know. With two younger train conductor characters, that might imply that Stollen Cookie is a younger character as well.
However, we also know she failed their final exam 5 times. With her family threatening to pull funding/have her pull out of the school if she fails again. That implies that she’s probably had to retake the entire class, repeatedly.
So she's been held back at least four years.
All we know about Strawberry Cream Cookie’s age is that they were found by a holiday cookie when they were small, and got their first gift. They were so moved they went on to get an education as a holiday cookie, so they could help others like themselves.
Their story is one of neglect, abandonment, and isolation from cookie society. Traits that might cause someone to need to grow up sooner then they should, but nothing that says he’s actually an adult character. Their failing the exam not by their own efforts, but because they haven’t’ been taught things that we take for granted, and no one is willing to give him a chance. There are rumors about him, but we don't even know what they are.
I imagine they are rumors involving violence, though.
As characters, I find them really interesting. I'd love to see more about them.

I mean its kinda both. We literally aren't taught things about geography, and most of our knowledge of the world outside of America come from films/movies.
That sort of thing is how a lot of the clickbait misinformation happens. Kids don't have enough context to know better, or realize that cooking an ice cream cone with popcorn is not going to result in chocolate covered popcorn. But you see enough videos/references to it, then you just sort of think its true. After all a lot of people did the same thing so there must be some truth to it, right?
Basically its incredibly foolish, but the only way to counter that ignorance is to encourage knowledge/learning. And complaining about movies/shows repeating a lot of the same falsehoods.

"Good" Acting
i have a theory that a lot of people say acting is "good" when they're emotionally moved by it, and a lot of cishet white people have a lifelong habit of not listening or empathising when minoritised people speak, so minority actors get called "bad" even when they display some pretty fucking amazing technical skill

for my personal thoughts: Gen 4 had the most interesting blend of mythicals.
There where two really good for lore (Darkrai/Arceus)
One really cute one
One that involved so much nonsense that it immediately became memerable. (If you wanted Manaphy you needed to buy a NEW copy of pokemon Ranger, and then you could transfer the manaphy to your ds game, and THEN that one mythical could breed even though no other one could. There was only one Egg per cartridge so you couldn't just buy the game used if you wanted that reward!)

Not “good parent splinter” not “bad parent splinter” but instead “splinter raised four children with no resources as a survivor of horrific trauma and while he had better moments and worse moments. to simply divide his parenting as good or bad does a disservice to his character”

Damian's new classmate was what most people would deem as strange, Damian however could not see him as anything other than suspicious. Daniel Knight had joined in the midst of the school year, claiming to have moved here with his father Fredric Knight (first area of suspicion, a parent willingly moving both them and their child to Gotham) for a new start following his fathers divorce. The boy was reclusive when not spoken to directly, however he would not stop talking when a topic of his interest would come up. After searching further into his past (as he does with all his classmates) Damian found a relatively normal past, the only outstanding things being a noticeable drop in grades at the beginnings of freshman year relating to an undisclosed accident resulting in lichtenberg scarring starting from Daniels palm, and presumably up his arm being hidden by his sleeve. Apparently this accident left Daniel with irregular tremors and, every once in a blue moon, seizures. Damian had thought about taking this suspicious blockage of information to Tim or the Bat Computer to be bypassed, however the idea of sharing Daniel this cases existence with the rest of his family for some unexplained reason bothered him greatly, so Damian has come to the decision to figure out Knight’s true intentions on his own.
Meanwhile Danny’s just trying to live his new, semi-normal life in peace. After a reveal gone wrong results in some good old vivisection, Jazz Sam and Tucker recruit the help of Clockwork to find Danny a new home, where he can heal from both the physical and mental wounds. Clockwork ends up dumping Danny into the DC universe alongside Fright Knight, who was insistent on going with him, feeling responsible in helping to protect his young prince now since he feels he failed the first time. So with a bit of spacetime razzle dazzle, Tucker messing with stuff he probably shouldn't have messed with and a very tearful goodbye with promises to check in every day, Danny goes off to start his new life as Daniel Knight. It was going ok so far, he took half the year to himself, focusing on healing. Also so Frighty could adjust to the whole pretending to be human thing. Danny doesn't have any friends yet, and to be honest hasn't made the effort to make any (Jazz would be disappointed if she knew that), but there's this one boy in Danny's class who might be even weirder than him. Danny can feel Damian's eyes on him, knows how he follows him around without a sound (Danny really shouldn't be able to tell, he only knows because he isn't fully human(and in a weird way, Danny thinks that's kinda cool)), and whenever they do make eye contact Danny can see and feel the boy fluster and shy away.
Maybe he just needs a friend too.

I personally can't imagine Prune Juice Cookie ever taking a truly antagonistic role. But if he did, I'm pretty sure he'd just be Yzma.
(I don't know who he'd turn into a Llama but he'd absolutely turn someone into a llama. )

It's absolutely true that delusions can take on religious elements and be fueled in part or whole by religion, but dear l-rd, do I hate when people blanket all religion under this whole "it's all delusion, anyway!!!".
No it is not, and I know that because I know what it's like to have gone through delusions! I was reminded of that difference recently, and I'm religious. Not everything that you personally disagree with is a delusion, a narcissistic power play, or anything else. Sometimes you disagree with others. I am pretty religious, but I am more than willing to agree with non-theists about their opinions because they come up with good ideas and we are equal human beings. In fact, the atheist has strengthened my own religious beliefs because I am challenged by them to actually think things through. My whole issue with this is the - funnily enough - holier-than-thou, stigmatizing attitudes that are necessary to say things like that.
As someone who has a vested interest in mental health and accurate information about it, this stuff unironically angers me. The human in me wants to educate people, but the ape in me wants to take away the terms delusional, narcissistic, gaslighting, and every mental health term under the sun away until people learn how to properly use and apply them. The only people you are hurting are people who are already hurting.

Hosea and Dutch did good by saving John and Arthur, but that doesn't automatically make them faultless parents.
They molded Arthur and John into ideal outlaws who obeyed them (intentional or not). So much so that BOTH Arthur and John ended up prioritizing the gang over their literal children + the mothers of their children.
Arthur never actually made it out of the outlaw life. John struggled for 8 years trying to leave behind old habits. You cannot tell me that wasn't a direct product of Dutch and Hosea raising them.
I doubt they had any malicious intent, but that doesn't absolve them of everything. I think a big thing rdr fans tend to do is favor intent over the actual results of a character's actions.
It's explicitly clear that the cycle of violence didn't begin with John and proceed with Jack, it began with Hosea and Dutch.
