Farewell to You, ch 10

A few weeks later, the party went off without a problem. Everyone gave Ash their congratulations. Even all of the population of Pallet Town, for representing them for so long. Ash thanked them all, clearing his throat. It was time for the toast. Everyone raised their glass, looking at their new world champion.

He smiled at the group as he addressed, "Thank you all for always believing in me. Even though I had made so many questionable moves."

Iris teased, "No kidding! You are such a kid!"

Everyone laughed. Cilan smiled at his girlfriend.

He pointed out, teasingly, "You're still younger than me!" Iris wanted to retort back but decided not to. She wanted to let Ash continue his speech. So that's what he did. He continued, "First, of course, I wanted to thank all of my Pokemon for always being there for me. The ones that are here. And the ones that aren't..." Ash got sad for a moment and cleared his throat. He added, "Anyways, I wanted to thank my Mom, all of my friends, and my rivals. For pushing me in the right direction."

Delia smiled at her son proudly. He had come a long way since he first got a Pikachu that wouldn't listen to a word he said. Now the two were very close friends. She thought, 'Oh David, if you could see your son now. You wouldn't see a very stubborn boy. He's become much more than that. He's become a man. And hopefully, Misty can join our family soon.'

As soon as Ash saw his mom start to cry, he thought of his dad. He had a feeling, and Delia did too, that David would've been very proud of his boy. He thought, sniffling, 'I knew that I'd make it someday. And who would've predicted my start, though...'

Gary saw that Ash was also on the verge of tears and decided to change the subject. He winked at Ash, "Someone has to Ashy-boy."

With that, Ash snapped out of his sadness. That's when everyone laughed again.

Ash took Misty's hand, "And most importantly, I want to thank you. For pulling out of the river out of those years ago and beyond."

Misty had tears in her eyes as she laced their fingers together, "Oh Ash..."

Ash gave her a kiss, one which Misty happily returned. Misty held him close. Ash did the same thing.

"Pi pika chu!" Pikachu said, giving off its victory pose.

"Piplup!" Piplup said.

Dawn stated, "All's well that ends well."

Ash and Misty broke out their kiss, still holding hands. Togetic was happy for her Mama. Pikachu was happy for them too.

Lily teased, "So when's, like, the wedding?"

To that, Ash and Misty both blushed. "We're not getting married yet!"

Violet rolled her eyes jokingly, "Oh great, now they're gonna deny when they are tying the knot now."

Max laughed, "Just when we thought it was going to get easier."

Molly blinked, "It never gets easier. Does it?"

Max just shrugged.

May asked, "So what's the plan for the future?"

Drew flicked his hair out of his face, "It doesn't matter, as long as we all together."

Years later, Ash and Misty were finally married. They had a beautiful 3 year old named Trina. She had short raven hair and chocolate brown eyes. Misty was pregnant with their second child, a son. Paul and Ranee had a handsome 3 year old named Justin. He had short brown hair and green eyes.

Pikachu had settled down with Buneary. Dawn was married to Kenny but they decided against children. Drew and May had two children: Matthew and Katie. Matthew looked like his mother with brown hair and green eyes. Katie looked like her father with green hair and blue eyes. Matthew was 4 years old and Katie was 2 years old. Todd and Zoey were also married but they didn't have any children yet.

Brock and Lucy were married too. They had only one child: Fester. He had light brown skin and Brock's eyes. He is 4 years old. Solidad and Harley were engaged. James and Jessie were married. They were expecting a daughter. Tracey and Daisy were married but they didn't have any children. Max and Molly were traveling around together, dating. Bonnie hadn't found anyone yet, nor did Mahri. Rudy and Melody were married too.

Goh and Chloe were engaged. Barry and Bianca were married and were expecting a son. Clemont and Serena were also engaged. Kiawe and Olivia were married. Looker and Anabel were married but they had no children. Ritchie and Duplica were married and had one daughter: Amy. Amy has brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 3 years old.

Lance and Prima were married. Gary and Erika were married and they were expecting a daughter. Professor Oak had passed away a bit after Gary and Erika were married. Steven and Cynthia were engaged. Steven had lost his father way before the events years ago. Yoni was still in jail and Lawrence was on a very tight parole. Reggie and Maylene were married.

Brandon and Luka were engaged. Violet and Lily were still single too but they were okay with that. Delia had come over earlier that day to spend time with her grandchild. Delia had gray hair now but other than that she had not changed all that much. She was chatting with Misty as Trina was having a nap. Ash didn't know what was going to happen next but at least he had his family.

Wishmaker1028: There we have it! The end of Farewell to You! I really enjoyed working on this fanfiction. I originally wanted to have a moment where Team Rocket decided to let go of Lugia (2,000) like they did in the movie. Ash  and Pikachu are complete tears as they watch them drop down to the ocean yet again. But it didn't make much sense for this to happen again since they didn't have to do that (in this story) so I scratched it. I wanted to share that. I am going to miss these characters and I hope you all have enjoyed this fanfiction. Please read and review! And always think outside of the box!

Ash and Gary sit at the edge of a lake.

Prompt: Kisses, Hugs, I Love Yous Note: This is set basically whenever, but it’s supposed to be in Johto. Words: 1,322

Ash's hands gripped the grass at his sides as he sat on the edge of the lake. The full moon glowed above, much brighter than the distant glow of the buildings of the nearest town, yet despite being colder, it was also more welcoming. He tore out a patch of the grass accidentally, feeling the slick plants tear at the mercy of his clinging fingers as he stared at the waters before him.

Clearly, just fiddling with the grass wasn't enough to mask this particular feeling of worry. And was he surprised about that? Not really, he had a lot on his mind.

Besides, the person next to him was Gary.

After a totally disastrous run through the caves nearby, his group had found Gary, and given the fact that they were all low on health (and almost entirely out of potions), they had decided to camp together for the night. Choosing between your rival or a random hiker you'd never met, Ash would choose his rival any day.

Even though his current panic may suggest otherwise, Ash felt truly grateful to be able to see Gary again, even on such short notice. Truthfully, he was pretty certain that simple fact was a pretty major factor in his worry, but he had to put it away when Gary cleared his throat.

“So,” he started, somewhat unsure, as if he was worried that Misty and Brock may still be awake, “I'm happy to see you, Ashy boy,”

“Yeah,” Ash said, tossing the clump of grass down into the lake, and watching as it floated on the surface, “Thanks for the berries,”

“Ahw don't mention it,” Gary said, waving his hand, though both of them could clearly feel the sting of awkwardness in the air, “Thanks for letting me camp with you guys for the night,” he sneered at Ash, but there was no bite to it, “Don't try anything funny will you?”

Ash frowned at him. As if. Besides, Brock was the one with the most control of who got to stay with them, Ash wasn't really the one to thank in that regard.

Gary quieted, clearly seeing that Ash hadn't found him very funny. ”Sorry,“ he mumbled, looking back out at the lake, making his eyes glow as the light of the moon hit them once more, ”I know that's not funny,“

There was a pause. The wind carried the scent of pine clear over the rotting scent of lake water.

”You're acting a lot nicer than usual,“ Ash observed, still staring at Gary (somehow he couldn't force himself to look away), ”What's gotten into you?“

Gary turned to him, and for some reason it was only then that Ash could force himself to tear his gaze away, as if he wasn't aware that Gary knew he had been staring. ”You're a lot calmer than usual, can I ask what's got into you?“

Ash grumbled something even he wasn't entirely sure of the contents of as he leaned forward to hug his knees. (He was going to tear every blade of grass off the hill if he didn't find somewhere else for his hands to go.) ”I'm tired,“ he told him.

It was true, but he was pretty sure that neither of them believed that was everything that was going on.

”Yeah?“ Gary asked, snarky once more, though Ash could have sworn there was something else there, something more... tender? ”Tired of losing to all those wild Pokemon back there?“

Ash harrumphed and dug his fingers into the hems of his jeans. “As if you didn't lose to them too! At least I don't have a water ace and loose in a cave...” He trailed off.

Gary raised his eyebrows, a movment so pronounced that Ash could almost hear it. (Or maybe he just heard the soft inhale that he had come to expect from such a move from his rival. Even after months of not seeing each other, it still felt like he knew his every habit like the back of his own hand, or like Pikachu's moveset.)

“What,” Gary was grinning, Ash could tell, “Don't want to finish making fun of me? Did you really get that beat up back there?”

“No!” Ash said, pulling his arms away from his legs and whirling around to face Gary, “No! I just-,” he felt his fingers shake as his arms fell to the ground, “I just, um,”

His face felt warm. Why was that? Wasn’t it supposed to be cold next to lakes at night?

“You’re blushing,” Gary observed, pointing out what would have been obvious to Ash if he hadn’t been denying it so hard, “What happened back there…?”

“Nothing,” Ash said truthfully, if slightly desperately, “I’m just…” ‘Happy to see you, I guess,’ He ignored the thought, though it had been the only thing he had planned to say. “Warm. It’s warm out,”

Gary raised an eyebrow, but he didn’t pry any further.

Ash felt himself flush harder, but still could not tear his eyes away from Gary. 

He felt frozen, fingers once again digging into the slimy grass as he locked eyes with his stupid, stupid rival. (There was no other descriptor for the guy if he was making Ash blush by just being in his general vicinity.) Deep down, Ash knew that there was no denying what he felt. He’d felt it for a while, honestly, ever since the encounter with Gary all the way back at Professor Oak’s lab, Ash’s childish crush had seemingly rekindled itself.

All those days of pretending they hated each other were for nothing, and Ash was pretty sure they both knew it.

 Slowly, as if moving too fast would make the quiet lapping of the lake roar into a tsunami, Gary reached a hand forward, curling his fingers around Ash’s cheek. 

For some reason, Ash did not pull away.

“Huh,” Gary murmured, “You are warm,”

He leaned closer.

Again, Ash did not pull away.

Gary hesitated, glancing over to where the sleeping lumps of Brock and Misty curled around the campfire as if afraid they were looking. But what was there to be afraid of them seeing? He looked back at Ash, who could only blink back, so suddenly lightheaded with emotions as Gary pulled him into a kiss.

For a moment, Ash almost pulled away. The rush of emotions was too powerful, like a wave that threatened to swallow both of them if he wasn’t careful. The feeling of Gary’s second hand in his hair, the almost unconscious way Ash felt his own arm moving to hug Gary, the pure weirdness of the act itself. There was so much to feel conflicted about, but Ash forced himself not to think.

He closed his eyes and forced himself to feel.

Like the night wind on the wing of a Noctowl, he felt utterly lifted from the ground. He wasn’t even sure why. There wasn’t anything special about this act all on its own, he was sure they both sucked at whatever they were trying to do, but even something done badly was still something done, and Ash felt himself pulled into a hug as they continued.

It could have been that a second, a minute, or even an hour had passed by the time they broke apart, and Ash would have been none the wiser, so caught up in his whirlwind of emotions he found himself. It was strange, how clearly feeling reflected thinking in a situation like this, but equally strange how different the two were.

Gary’s hands did not untangle from Ash’s hair, but he didn’t mind, besides, he hadn’t yet unhooked his own arm from Gary’s back either.

A rush of emotions consumed him, and Ash suddenly blurted out, “I love you,”

For once in his life, Gary didn’t seem to have some sort of snarky rebuttal to that… for the most part.

“I love you too, Ashy boy,”

Ash Betrayed (Part - 1)

Everything was perfect! The Sun was shining! The Pidgeys were singing! And Ash and Pikachu were having a race towards their home! Pallet Town!

"Coming on Pikachu! You are really slow!" Ash said jokingly.

"//At Least I am not dense!//" Pikachu countered. The race was going on, but suddenly, Ash was hit by a water gun.

"Ah!" Ash shouted as he was hit by the water gun.

"Who is it!" Ash said seriously as he and Pikachu took position.

"It's me! It's me!" A familiar voice came as a familiar voice came out of the bushes with a familiar Politoed. Ash immediately smiled seeing the familiar redhead.

"Been a long time, Misty!" Ash said.

"Same here!" Misty said as she walked towards Ash. Expecting a friendly reunion, Ash raised his hand. But instead, he was hit with Misty's famous mallet.

"OUCH!!!! What did I do to deserve that?" Ash said as Pikachu climbed Misty's shoulder.

"//Hey Misty!//" Pikachu said as he rubbed his cheeks against Misty's.

"That was for making me wait for an hour! Your mother told me you will be coming from this route and to catch you in the middle, I stayed here! But you are not punctual," Misty said.

"Also Hey Pikachu! I missed you," Misty said as she patted him.

"Ah!!! Anyways, Let's get going!" Ash said.

"Brock should be here in minute!" Misty said.

"Well, you wanna see my pokemons?" Ash asked.

"Do I ever!" Misty said as they walked towards the patch of grassland near the main path with a small lake.

"Come out!" Both shouted as they threw their pokeballs out.

Ash had his journey's team. And Misty was creeped out but also very intrigued by Dracovish.

"So tell me Misty, how is the life of Gym leader treating you?" Ash said.

"It is fine, but I wonder how the life of a World Champion is treating you?" Misty said with a smile.

"Umm................ I don't know actually; I am probably the least involved Champion. Lance once asked me when I am permanently settling in Alola. He told me since I am the champion of Alola, I am supposed to be heavily involved in Alolan matters........................... I asked Leon about the Responsibilities of Monarch, and he told me it was mainly chairing the meetings between different regions champions..................... I asked Professor Kukai as to what to do, and he told me as of now, I don't need to entertain those matters. And the Championship organization told me the as of now, the Monarch's responsibilities will stay with Leon until I am ready........................ combine that with me rarely going to major Urban centres........................ I don't feel anything different, you know," Ash said.

"Damn, feels exhausting," Misty said.

"Anyways, Let's talk about your love life?" Misty said with a wink.

"I have no idea what you are saying," Ash said as Misty does an anime fall.

"You are really a kid," Misty said as she and Pikachu did a facepalmed. Suddenly, they heard a voice.

"HEY GUYS!!!!!!" They turned to see the best companion of Ash, Brock!

"So, how is life going on?" Brock asked Ash and Misty as they walked towards Pallet Town.

"It is fine," Misty said.

"Same here," Ash said.

"Oh Misty, I saw your recent post, you and Gary-" Before Brock could complete the statement, Misty hit him with her mallet.

"Shut up Brock! We were just hanging out, catching up if you may!" Misty said.

"Guys come on! Mom must be waiting!!!!!" Ash said as he ran towards Pallet.

"//Ash wait!//" Pikachu shouted as he ran behind him

"Like always!" Misty said as she and Brock ran behind Ash.

"FINALLY!" Ash shouted as he reached his home. He was about to enter when he heard a familiar call.

"Hey Ashy Boy!" Ash smirked and turned to see Gary, his childhood friend.

"Hey Gary oak tree!" Ash said as he hugged Gary.

"How is life of a professor treating you?" Ash asked as Pikachu climbed up Gary's shoulder and rubbed his cheek against Gary's

"It is good, and nice to meet you again Pikachu," Gary said as he patted Pikachu.

"Hey Gary," Brock said as the two men shook hands.

"H-hey Gary!" Misty said, blush a little.

"H-Hey! Misty! Been a long time!" Gary said nervously as he too blushed a little.

"You two literally saw each other last wed-" Brock was block by brain damage. By that I mean he was hit by Misty's mallet.

"Anyways, Congratulation on becoming world champion!" Gary said as Ash starting thinking about whether this title was actually meaningful or just that, a title. Ash was thinking this as he knocked on his home's door.

"Coming!" Ash's mother voice came. Hearing his mother's voice, Ash felt heaven. When the door open, it was a flood! Both sides started crying as they took each other in a hard hug! Pikachu was also part of the hug.

"I am so happy for you! My baby!"

"I did it mom!"

"I am proud of you!"

Blah blah blah! I don't need to write what words were exchange. It is there in almost all of Ash fanfics where Delia is on the good side.

"Oh! I forgot!" Delia said she broke the hug.

"All of your friends are there! Why not join them!" Delia said as Ash smiled. Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Brock and Gary entered the Ketchum residence.

As Ash and the crew entered the living room, they found Ash's friend group divided into 2 factions.

On one side, was Iris, Cilan, Sophocles, Trip, Drew, May and Max on one side. They were also with 7 more people. 3 girls and 4 Guys, but Ash knew nothing about them.

On the other side were

Tracy, Dawn, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Lillie, Gladion, Paul, Lana, Kiawe, Mallow and Alain

(Am I missing someone? I am actually asking)

"Hey Guys!" Ash shouted as everyone turned to him. Group 2 immediately surrounded Ash, with the exception of Serena, Lillie and Dawn (You tell me why?). While Ash was talking to them, Pikachu jumped of his shoulder and went straight towards Serena, Lillie and Dawn, who had a weird tension amongst each other.

Ash talked to them, then he started to move towards Group 1, with a Happy face. BUT SUDDENLY! Lucario came out of his pokeball and stood between Ash and Group 1.

"Lucario?" Ash asked. Everyone was confused.

"Ash, what happened?" Delia asked, a little concerned.

"I don't know Mom," Ash said as he looked at the 7 people he didn't recognized.

"Umm..................... I am sorry but who are you guys?" Ash asked, much to Delia's concern and Group 1 annoyance.

"Ash, you don't know them?" Delia asked.

"Yeah," Ash said.

"But Iris, May, Sophocles Cilan and Max told me you have travelled with them," Delia said, starting to get actively worried. Lucario looked at Ash and Raised his paw. Understanding his Pokemon sign, he held Lucario's Paw. Suddenly, Ash Vision changed from Normal Human vision to Aura Vision. And he could see why Lucario became cautious. The Aura coming from Group 1 was as black as Black goes.

"What are you guys planning on doing?" Ash said, extremely shocked, as he let go of Lucario's Paw and pulled out a pokeball.

"You are still a kid!" Iris said as Group 1 Took position to attack. Seeing the recent developments, Group 2 took position as well, ready to fight for Ash.

"Iris, May Cilan, Max, Sophocles, what is the meaning of this!" Ash asked, really confused.

"Such a kid, you are right to call him that Iris," May said.

"Allow me to answer!" Ash turned to see the guy who wore clothing similar to Ash during his Kalos adventure.

"Who are you?" Ash asked.

"The name is Calem! Calem Lysandre! But my heritage is not the question here! The fact that your Hoennese and Unovan Allies are against you is the question! So Let me tell you, they are Team Rocket's Agents!" The Moment Ash heard this, he was broken.

"What!" Brock shouted.

"Iris' Dad is a sleeper cell of Team Rocket, so is May and Max's Mom! Cilan whole family is part of Team Rocket! Same goes for Sophocles! They were supposed to cause problems in your journey! Never did you wonder why Hoenn and Unova were not good to you?" Calem said as he revealed the truth. Hearing this, Delia left the room.

"So all the moments of friendship...................................... They were nothing for you guys!!!!!" Ash shouted, deeply hurt about this betrayal!

"MAY! MAX!!!! PLEASE STOP THIS DAMNIT!!!!!!" Brock shouted.

"Sophocles! Have you lost it!" Kiawe shouted as Delia came back.

"Oh can we please just end this bs!" Sophocles said as everyone took position to battle.

Suddenly, Calem's phone rang, making a somewhat awkward silence.

"Yes sir? Are you sure? Very well!" Calem said as he cut the call.

"Boss has order us to leave! Let's us go! We want no trouble!!!!" Calem said anticlimactically.

"You really think that after the BS you guys said, we will just let you go?" Gary said.

"Aren't you guys supposed to be honorable and all?" Calem asked.

"Well not today-" Gladion said before getting interrupted by Ash.

"Just let them go, I need some peace!" Ash said angrily. He didn't even want to look at his former friends as they left.

"I need some time alone to myself," Ash said as he left to his room.

"Ash!" Delia said as she and Pikachu went behind him.

"This is pathetic" Paul said as he facepalmed.

"No kidding, I met May and Max sometimes. They were like siblings to him," Gary said.

"Yeah," Brock said in a sad voice.

"Oh Ash," Serena, Lillie and Dawn thought.

"Brock, Gary! come!" Misty said as took the too Ash's room.

Ash had locked his room. Delia, Pikachu, Brock, Misty and Gary calmly knocking the door. And by Calmly, I meant Harry Potter Calmly.

"ASH PLEASE OPEN THE DOOR FOR ARCEUS SAKE!!!!!!!!!! YOUR OTHER FRIENDS ARE STILL HERE!!!!!!!!!* Delia shouted as she knocked the door, she was worried sick that Ash may do something to harm himself.

"Ash please! For the sake our friendship open the door!" Misty shouted as she bang the door.

"//Ash please! I beg of you! Open the door man!//" Pikachu said as he scratched the door.

Brock and Gary were standing. Thinking what to do. Finally, Brock said.

"Give him some time guys," Brock said in a calm voice (Actually calm, not harry potter calm)

"Yeah, Brock is right," Gary said.

"But Ash-" Misty said before getting Gary put his hand on a shoulder.

"Trust me, I know Ash, he does stupid things, but self-harm for no reason is something he will not," Gary said as he gave Misty a trusting look.

"If you say so," Misty said, holding Gary's hand.

"Aunty, others are waiting," Gary said.

"Yeah............. You three go, I will come with Pikachu in just a minute," Delia said as the other three left.

"Ash," Delia said, talking to her son through the door, unsure if he is even listening to her.

"I know, I know you feel hurt, I know the feeling of betrayal is extremely painful.............................. But you are not alone! Your friends are there for you! Your true Friends! And your Pokemons! They are there for you till the very end!" Delia said as tears started to flow him her eyes. Pikachu climbed to her shoulder and rubbed his cheek against her.

"And I am there for you, I was there for you from the very beginning when I gave birth to you, and I will be there for you till my last-" Before Delia could complete the sentence, the door open. Ash was standing in front of her. His face was one filled with Terror. His eyes, red, probably due to crying, were in deep terror. Delia immediately hugged him.

"Ash!!!!!" Delia said as she hugged him.

"I was afraid for you! I-I was worried that you may-" Before Delia could complete, Ash interrupted her.

"Never..................... Never talk about dying in front of me! Ever again Mom! I will die if something ever happens to you!" Ash said as he broke the Hug.

"I am sorry dear," Delia said as she hugged him again. After a minute of Hugging, Delia broke the hug.

"All of your friends are waiting for you down stairs Ash, they are probably worried sick," Delia said.

"Yeah..................... I-I shouldn't not ruin their stay because some of the false ones!" Ash said as the three of them walked down stairs. In the Living of Ketchum residence, All of Ash's true friends were worried sick for Ash.

Brock, Gary, Misty and Tracy were sitting in a group, talking about what just happened.

Lana, Kiawe and Mallow were in another group, talking about Sophocles' Betrayal.

Clemont was sitting alone with Alain, Paul and Gladion, wondering why Team Rocket (The whole Organisation) will have such a special interest in Ash that they were hell bent in ruining him

Bonnie was sitting with Serena, Lillie and Dawn. She was sleeping, holding tight to Serena. The three were worried sick for Ash, but one could sense a weird tension between the three of them.

"Is she alright?" Lillie asked, deciding to break the silence. Lillie was right to be worried about Bonnie. She had seen Bonnie was getting close, or at least was trying to get close to Max, seeing him as someone who was directly trained by Ash.

"I hope so," Serena replied as the three returned to their tensed silence.

"Everyone, Ash is back," Delia announced as She, along with Ash and Pikachu entered the living room. Everyone immediately surrounded Ash, asking if he is ok or not. Ash reassured them that he was fine with a Smile.

"Let's not overwhelm him," Paul said.

"I agree," Delia said as she walked towards the Kitchen.

"Anyone who wants to help me cook? Others can just rest and watch TV-" Delia said before she was interrupted by a loud sound of three girls.

"The more the better," Delia said as Serena, Lillie, Dawn, Brock, Mallow and Clemont entered the Kitchen. Ash, Pikachu (Sitting on Ash's shoulder) Gary, Misty (Sitting next to Gary), Paul, Alain, Kiawe, Lana, Gladion and Bonnie sat to watch TV. While they were watching TV, Gladion said something.

"What are you planning now Ash?" Gladion asked as lightning strike, signifying the coming of rain.

"I" Ash wondered. After thinking for sometime, he answered.

"I will stay with Mom and looked after the family farm for sometime," Ash said as Delia looked at him with a smile.

"You will?" Delia asked. Ash needed to merely nod his head for Delia eyes to warm up.

"I am so happy! I-I w-will!!" Delia wasn't able to complete her sentence due sheer happiness, she just went back to her cooking, determined to make something Ash will love!

After half an hour later, Pallet was in a storm, but Ketchum residence didn't care. The food was almost ready and The cooks were about to serve the meal when suddenly, the door knocked.

"Who the heck will come in this storm?" Ash said as went to open the door. The Moment he opened the Door, his face had reaction which was a mix of confusion and Anger.

"What are you doing here?" Ash asked in an Angry and confused voice.

Am I the only who thinks the Ones who betrayed are kind of underwhelming right?

Pokemon anime request! Ash’s companions (other than Alola) reacting to his championship win in the Alola league

Misty: Knew from the time at the Orange League that he’d make it, if anything he already did back then. But league being official was just the last step. Still wished he used many of his water type Pokemon.

Brock: He called it the minute Ash forfeit his first gym battle ever. This kid was going to go far. Now if he could just get Kukui and others to help get him some therapy.

Tracy: He was literally drawing Ash’s final league battle from frame to frame. Goes on to make the Pokémon anime series with input from Ash and his other friends across the regions.

May: Knew he’d make it someday, after all, he beat the Battle Frontier. Hopefully he waited to have a big feast until her plane hit Alola.

Max: He finally been able to start his journey. He had just won his first gym badge when the league began. He quickly rushed home to watch the rest with his family. His Treecko and Ralts cheering with him as Ash won it. Of course, he always has a small part of him, guilty for how he treated Ash when they first meet. Boy, if he could go back in time and tell his past self this.

Dawn: Always knew he was going to win someday. She knew Piplup was all for it, plus not having to worry about his Gible’s draco meteor. Just wished she’d had been able to see it in person. But she clearly made that up once he went for the masters tournament!

Iris: Despite their quibbles, she always knew Ash would exceed in Pokémon battling. Now she wished he had more dragon types, let alone used the ones he had besides an ultra beast. But she’s proud either way.

Cilan: He knew it like the back of his hand, like the lines of a cookbook, the station to a train. Yeah he’s basically part of the Ash fanclub and for sure is the co-founder that totally bet Ash would become the best one day.

N: He knew the moment he laid eyes on Ash, that he’d do great things. He’s one of the reasons he can tolerate Pokemon battles, even see the enjoyment and thrill in some cases, but mostly through Ash’s battles. He could defiantly feel Ashs Pokémon’s cheers from all over the region, and perhaps a certain legendary bird or more.

Clemont: He’s a gym leader after all, he could tell from each battle he did whether someone could go far if given the push. Ash was one of those, despite the fact he knew since he first battled him when they first meet.

Serena: Knew he had it in him, and hoped he’d be happy. Also he rejected her and their good friends to this day.

Bonnie: Cheered the loudest, now even more psyched to go on her own journey. Perhaps battle Ash and his mons along the way.

Basing this on if the Alola series was only a couple months since Kalos (since it started as a summer trip) and lasted about a year after, hence why Max is old enough to go on a journey, but Bonnie isn’t.

Bonus! Rivals (and by rivals I mean actual rivals. Not looking at you Cameron and others I forget. Sorry Gladion and others I know but this is excluding Alola.)

Gary: While he wish he could kick his 10 year old’s butt, but he knows Ash won’t have gone as far without his help. So he better mention him in his acceptation speech. But for real, he’s so proud of Ashy Boy.

Paul: Ever since he heard of Ash beating the Battle Frontier, he knew he was going to become a champion. Not that he’d admit it. No, but he’d totally admit he had the better rival battle out of all of Ash’s rivals.

Barry: Now Ash owes him 10 million more, for he knew Ash would become champion. He just wished he’d battle him for that.

Trip: Ever since he loss to Ash in the Unova league, he’s gone through a big change. Ash showed him what the perfect trainer is, caring for Pokémon and people alike. So yeah, he’s less of a jerk.

Alain: While he wished he got a rematch before Ash made it, he’s glad he did. No matter how much of a odd presence keeps saying Ash was the Kalos champ despite the outcome.

Sawyer: He’s Ash’s number one fan. Of course he was going to become champion. Of course, he wished to battle him again before he done so.

Regressor Gary Oak Headcanons

gary learns about regression pretty young. he learned what it was when he was about 11-12, and he only learned bc he was apprenticing with prof rowan and one of the other apprentices (lucas maybe?? pls pokemon gimme the boy in the anime) regressed sometimes

for a couple years, gary doesn't really think about it. he doesn't try to regress, try to do anything regression-like

then he has a Super stressful year apprenticing in kalos, and one night he's in his room crying because the power went out and he lost his research progress on his computer

umbreon is beside him at the time, and she does her best to calm him down. she crawls on his lap and nuzzles his cheeks, puts her paws up on his shoulders, basically hugging him. eventually, gary stops crying, and he's just trying to get his breath back. umbreon drags over a pillow for him to squeeze, and he hugs it super-super tight until he finally feels better

after a little (haha) rest, he starts his computer back up and manages to recover most of his work. he saves it and closes docs, pulling up the pokemon equivalent to netflix. he starts a cartoon he and ash used to watch all the time as kids, and just lets himself get absorbed in the adventures of clefairy and all her friends

gary doesn't regress again for a few months. he doesn't even really consider what happened that night to be regression. the second time, though, he throws a fit and ends up battling some jerk that was making fun of him and research partners (blastoise and electivire are a lil suspish about fighting when their trainer sounds like a fussy toddler, but they do as he says anyway)(and after the battle, blastoise makes him sit down and eat a snack and drink some juice until he calms down)

once again, gary doesn't consider this regression. he is not regressing

the third time gary regresses, he does have to accept that it was actually regression. it's kind of hard to deny it when he jumped all over his room because he was getting pancakes for dinner. he put on fuzzy pjs (backwards oopsie) and fuzzy socks, and when he scooted across the floor to build up static electricity, he started calling himself elekid

over time, gary ends up getting quite a few plushies that he hides in his closet (with the door cracked open so they can breathe ofc). he gets a plush eevee first, and a squirtle and elekid, then he gets plushies of the rest of his team, and then he starts getting plushies of ash's team(s). he names every single one, too, and he makes lil profiles for each of them, with fake dex entries, in a little notebook

when gary starts getting more comfortable with his regression, he starts getting more obvious gear. the first thing he ever gets is a sippy cup. it's covered in super cute miltank illustrations, and it has a flip-top so it's not too obvious that it's a sippy cup

after he gets his cup, he gets a pacifier and a teether...and he maybe starts sleeping with the pacifier. shhhh...

after those, he gets some toddler toys, but he tries to get tiny ones so he can hide them better. he really, really doesn't want the professor to find out abt his regression because that's embarrassing and it might get back to his grandpa

gary's pokemon do their best to take care of him and keep him out of trouble, but even sometimes they have to encourage him to go steal some cookies >.>

really they don't do a good job of holding him accountable, so when ash finally learns abt gary's regression, he's a total brat and he gets so many disappointed sighs

gary's nicknames are pretty simple, just gare and gare-bear

he calls ash just ashy, but it usually comes out more like "ashyyyy-uh!"

he learns very quickly that he can bribe pikachu to take his side with the promise of ketchup. this does not bode well for ash

professor oak and tracey do eventually find out abt gary's regression, and they're very accepting. tracey and gary will hang out in the field and draw pokemon together. professor oak just treats him the same as he did when gary was growing up, and it seems to make him rlly happy

Based on a conversation with @shinyhappydigistar. -Ash gets fed up with Iono filming him every waking moment, made worse they share a dorm together at the Academy, and has thrown out some of her stuff out of frustration and starts to tear into her about her sleep stream pranks on him until he realizes…-

Ash: Wuh-WHY ARE YOU STREAMING THIS?! Pikachu: -indignantly- PIKA!!??

Bellibolt: -looks embarrassed and a little fed up as well at Iono- Bellibo…! -says sheepishly-

Iono: Whaaaat? People love drama! Why do you think the Porygon does so well over Zubatman comic drama?

Clavell: -sighs- I suppose I should’ve seen this coming, having two, uh, how do the kids say it? Having two Gogoated personalities together. In the same room…

Ash: Does that mean Iono can get her own room? Preferably far, far away from me and Pikachu…?

Clavell: Unfortunately the only other dorm was taken by that pink and blue haired RA team with the Meowth we hired, so you two will have to continue sharing.

Iono: Hah! More streaming content for me!

Clavell: Not so fast, Iono. I have some rules to lay down an- Iono, please stop streaming, no one wants to see this. It’ll be boring. At least I’ll do my best to make it boring!

Iono: Throw in anytime Team Rocket crashes the party too, and you have a deal.

Ash and friends should be aged up to young adults who have achieved their dreams.

Liko and Roy are big fans of Ash and hope to meet him someday.

On their journey, they meet big names in the Pokemon world (Ash's friends) who tell them all about their journeys with the legendary champion:

Misty is pissed that her (boy)friend hasn't come by or called for a long time.

Brock helps heal their Pokemon and is recognized as Ash's best friend.

Tracey shows them sketches of Ash and his Pokemon throughout the years.

Gary sneers that Ashy boy is just another trainer, but obviously doesn't believe it.

Professor Oak says they remind him of someone he knows.

May, Dawn, and Serena tell them how much Ash taught them about friendship and battling, and how he taught then to chase their dreams.

Iris is mad because she lost a battle with Ash who used an ice type against her.

Cilan tells them how perfectly matched Ash and Pikachu have always been.

Bonnie and Max, who now travel together as teens, talk about how heroic Ash has always been.

The Alola gang talks about how they went to school together and how he won the first Alolan Championship.

Professor Kukui reflects on how Ash became like a son to him.

The stories make them want to meet him even more!

However, he is very elusive, and almost no one knows where he is at any given time.

Eventually, they do bump into him briefly, but he is busy saving the world as usual.

They don't get to talk to him much, but he inspires them to chase their dreams even more.

They continue their journey, hoping to meet him again someday.

I know they don't want to age him up, but think about how well Legend of Korra went over! They even killed main characters, and the world of Avatar carried on.

Pokemon wouldn't have to kill characters off, but aging them up would be a nod to the older fans and give him ways to fit into the new series in a new way.

Ooooo! I still need to do an official post buuuut let me post some:

Ash’s Japanese name is Satoshi while Gary’s is Shigeru. When they were younger they couldn’t pronounce the “sh” so they called each other SatoCHI and CHIgeru. They still do now at times.

Ash is pan and Gary is gay. Ash always gave me the kind of vibe that he loves everybody.

Ash didn’t really know about stigmas with guys dating. He was just like “I like Gary” and no internal crisis.

Gary on the other hand was the opposite. Took him a looooong time to be fully open.

Dated in secret because of it and because they wanted to slowly get a feel for each other first.

Ash helped Gary open up, but since Ash was one of the causes of him hiding his emotions, it took years.

Ash calls Gary when he has time - even remembering to call him more-so than his mother. Gary berates him on that to his chagrin.

Pikachu and Umbreon are best friends and become a couple.

Gary sends Ash gifts when he knows which town Ash is in.

Ash sends Gary handwritten notes since while Gary likes material possessions, he appreciates a heartfelt gift from someone more.

Brock knew all along.

There was kind of a confession at the lake during the Silver Conference under the full moon but Ash didn’t get it. (Canon! Kinda.)

Gary was slowly courting Ash unknowingly then when he realized he freaked and stopped.

Ash eventually realized (since he likes him and took notice of him acting out of character) and bluntly asks him out.

Gary got embarrassed and wouldn’t do anything for several minutes but then was like “Weellll I see you’ve got taste Ashy-boy and you look cute today so I’ll say yesss.”

On their dates they catch up and actually talk. And I mean talk. Not just about pokemon - family, friends, adventures, everything good and bad.

Gary doesn’t feel close to his grandfather so he was anxious to tell him. Ash was all for telling his mom. Ash wanted to know if Gary wanted to tell her first but Gary said it would be best if they told them both together.

Gary wanted to tell them when they were both established in their careers but did it earlier for Ash - at about 18yrs old.

They started dating…oh gosh…I’ll just say end of Sinnoh after the league. I headcanon Sinnoh they’re both 15.

Ash was so out of sorts for his first boyfriend that he was out of it the entire Unova arc.

Gary didn’t visit home during that time since he was afraid someone would hazard a guess. Sometimes people can just tell.

Unfortunately, that got both their guardians concerned and they had to fib. But they laughed to each other about it and that’s when they had serious talks and not just standard ones.

Ash would go to the end of the region in a corner city to get a specific item for Gary that he thought he would like. Gary would have it specially made and tailored to perfection before he gives his to Ash.

When they’re older, they’d live together. But the house would usually be empty since they both travel for their careers.

They’d travel together. (I swear to god anipoke that was perfect why-)

They’d adopt three kids. Twin boy toddlers and a baby girl three years younger. (Possibly adopt another little girl to make it even. She would be several years younger than the first girl.) Boys will have brown hair and brown eyes and the first girl have black hair and green eyes. The second girl will have red hair and blue eyes.

Pikachu and Umbreon have babies. I don’t know how many.

They still bicker and tease each other although now it’s all in good fun. They’re still rivals at heart.

Idk if I should do NSFW or not…maybe a separate post.

I know I have more this is just all I can think of at the moment.

I don’t know much about hair. x_x But I’ll give you headcanons:

Used to wash it every day

Freaked out when someone told him you’re not supposed to wash it every day

Took a long time to get used to not doing it

But when he does he goes all out

Shampoo, conditioner, styles it juuuust right, hair spray, mousse, depends on the day

He likes how it can look spiky but still feel soft

“You idiot,” Gary mutters, and while he normally could fix Ash up, being not too far from Pewter made the decision quicker. His beloved idiot was hurt. But hurt in a way that Gary wasn’t used to. Ash was an idiot, sure. He was a big idiot. He’d do whatever he could to help a hurt pokemon, even if it meant hurting himself. But, hurting himself was an option that Gary wasn’t very good with.

SUre, he’d been there when Ash broke his arm. But he was a child. This time, Ash was older, but none the wiser and getting hurt by pokemon...Gary has no desire to tell Gou. As he picked Ash up, he pressed a kiss to the bruised and bloody boy, taking him to the place he knew well.

With Ash hurt, Gary had the worried pikachu tucked on his shoulder, the pokemon hurt as well. As made his way throw the shit weather, Gary rang the doorbell to the older teen’s place of residence. Brock would know how to fix this.

“Brock, Ashy’s hurt,” Gary says, his voice quivering in a way he’d never let his ex-rivals friends see. He was also in more of a wreck then he’d ever let people see him in. Gou and Ash, included. He hated to appear unkempt, but with circumstances, he had little choice. Ash was more important, anyways.

The Oak’s eyes were tear stained, his hair matted against his face from the rain. His shirts were clinging to him, soaking him to the bone. Pikachu was whimpering, and while Gary had thought to put the ‘mon in a ball, he knew Pikachu wouldn’t be able to handle it.

“Can you help him?” Gary asks, his heart hurting. He gently places the raved haired down. “He’s gonna hate this, but his hat and clothes are caked in mud and grime and whatever bodily fluids from his injury. His leg is already swollen, and he cut his face up.with mud and debris and junk matted into his hair pretty bad.Please....” Gary whispers.

Not so much a question as a story I want to share:

I just got off the phone with my brother, and we had been discussing the Pokemon anime and Ash. But then he switched the conversation to Ashe, which I didn’t realize. So he said jokingly “is his name pronounced Ash or Ashy?”

And me, still thinking we were discussing Pokemon, responded with “well that depends on who you ask.”

And he replied back with “oh I didn’t know anyone actually pronounced his name that way.”

And I said back “well Gary sometimes calls him Ashy boy in the anime.”

But he misheard me and thought I said Yuri, so he thought I was going to say that Yuri at some point calls Ashe ‘Ashy boy’ during Cindered Shadows. So when I said “in the anime” he was all like “wait a minute”

We got the miscommunication sorted out and it was very funny.

mmmm yuri does call ashe ashy boy actually you’re right this is canon now
