Metal Knuckles came closer, ready to destroy the intruder, when...

"Well, what do we have here?"

Dr. Starline walks into the lab, turning off the alarm.

"Stand down for now, Metal Knuckles. I want to interigate this bat before I decide whether or not they should be destroyed..."

Metal Knuckles nods and remained still for the time being.

"Now then, child, tell me who you are, what your purpose is for breaking into my lab, and give me one good reason why I shouldn't let Metal Knuckles tear you apart."

Is Rouge dead? Compared to Sonic Shadow was pretty tame. Tails is most likely dead

A mysterious bat-cartoon-person-thing? suddenly appears on the ship and the alarms immediately set off.

“I just got here and my ears already hurt.”

The bat person looks around the ship. They appeared to be in Dr Starline’s room.

“Seems like whoever lives here is such a nerd. I’m already imagining the pranks! I should get started.”

Upon the alarms going off due to the intruder...

This caused Metal Knuckles to awaken from sleep mode...

And dash at the mysterious intruder.

Despite being a villain, Dr. Starline still had some standards. Although, perhaps his willingness to help this individual stems more on the fear of the amount of chaos that would happen if Mayday was left unattended. He knew very well how dangerous Teseo can be when he had no restraints.

"Well, yes, there are other people here. You see, this lab here isn't my main lab, but a smaller lab created on the Dreadnought, which is our base of operation. We are a team who want to... To put it delicately, understand the Multiverse...

"And as for your situation, I'm afraid it's not up to me to decide whether or not you can stay here. The one in charge of our team is Slur, and extraterrestrial AI who brought us all together. You'll need to speak with her regarding the matter. I can take you to see her if you'd like."

Mayday puts down the gadget he was using as a shield.

“Can I maybe stay here for a few days? I’m not exactly liked nor wanted in my world-Wait do other people live here? I thought it was just you and the metal guy. I mean Teseo sounds like a fun guy but are the others as violent as Metal Knuckles?”

Dr. Starline let out an exasperated sigh upon hearing Mayday's reason for not letting Metal Knuckles destroy them.

"Great... You're like Teseo; Despite being a silly person who hardly takes things seriously, you're too powerful to stop...

"Very well... I'll save myself a headache and won't sick Metal Knuckles on you. From what I'm aware of, the only harm you've done is give us a scare, so I suppose I'll let your little intrusion slide...

"So, now that you're here, what are you planning to do? My team and I are busy people, so I hope you don't plan to make trouble for us."

“I’m probably older than you…”

The intruder mumbles to themself.

“Well, if you must know my name is… Mayday! I’m here because I have the power to go into different worlds, I just can’t control what specific spot I go to… and the reason you shouldn’t let your little robot attack me is because I’m a cartoon. Do you really want to do the whole chase thing where your metal friend chases me and I cause some trouble and bada bing bada boom the silly one ends up on top? The silly one being me, of course.”
