Insane shot. he moved from where he was leaning against the Impala to where sam took lucifer & michael and jumped. he's kneeling at the place where sam sacrificed himself to an eternity of hell, and he's helplessly kneeling at it. like it's a grave, and he's grieving losing sam. like it's a pathway to hell that could lead him to sam that he so desperately wants to follow and so tragically can't begin to hope to trespass. he is kneeling, looking at the ground. If he just stayed enough, sam might come back, like hell is tangible/just under. and if he looked hard enough, he could see sam again.

speaking of dean’s dilemma where he enjoys being a hunter (also he needs it because, as kripke said, without hunting he would end up fighting in bar brawls) but also wants domesticity and a traditional family….he can’t have both at the same time, right? so obviously the only possible solution is to make sam his wife (maybe knock him up too while we’re at it). and dean himself is aware of it, which is part of why he likes to feminize sam so much and gets rock hard when henriksen says sam is bonnie to his clyde
