I wanted to ramble a bit about Ethan and Dawn as well as their whereabouts in the future but I get too scared to do it on Twitter due to the size of my account (It’s why I made my side sketch account but that account as well gets too traction for my liking so I decided to ramble my heart out here in a private space where my two friends can’t judge me for my trash)
A bit of a warning: I’m very much a fanatic when it comes to the intricacies of Pokemon game lore as well as a stickler for the Pokemon timeline BUT I also like to interpret the games in my own way to interpret stuff with my own logic
((for example I see Hilbert and Hilda as 15 in BW rather than 14 (how they are referenced to be in Bulbapedia) or 16 (how they were originally designed to be) solely due to my own experiences of growing up latina and how turning 15 is a huge part of our culture plus the Unovan protags are all Latinos to me))
I consider my own protag interpretation to be just that, an interpretation. A personal take on the canon like how the Pokemon anime and Pokemon manga are their own takes of the games. It might be wrong to something that happens in canon but that’s ok I’m just a dumbass who’s likes wasting time from studying to ramble about things.
Anyways with that out the way:
In my fictional canon Ethan and Dawn are both the main player character of their respective games.
In the case of Ethan, however, I decided to give him some traits similar from his NPC appearance in HGSS such as having the Pokémon daycare grandparents.
My Ethan and my Lyra interpretation are actually a mix of their main character and npc counterparts
Ethan’s mom is specifically the GSC mom as his mom while Lyra’s mom is the HGSS mom
Ethan has a Pichu and Lyra has a Marill.
Ethan takes on the Lake Of Rage while Lyra does the rocket tower takeover quest.
I basically divided it so both have main character AND NPC roles in the story but the true npc (catching tutorial npc) would be Kris who went on her journey 2 years prior (yes Kris exists in this story too as Lyra’s older sister and as Elm’s assistant)
For Dawn however I solely see her as the protagonist of DPPt (sometimes I see her as the protagonist of PLA as well btw but decided early on to hand that role off to Lucas (his NPC version) because collecting Pokémon fit well with his theme of becoming a professor and researching Pokémon in the future)
I usually draw all the protags loosely as teenagers but in the context of this specific story pre-timeskip hbhk are 15〜17 in my eyes.
15 is the age they meet in my interpretation in the PWT (around the time that the events of XY and BW2 are happening). It is also 4 years after their base adventure in DPPt occurred and when PLA takes place.
17 is the age where Ethan and Dawn start officially dating, is also the era when SM-USUM is happening.
The way I have them specifically meet is through the PWT in BW2 (under the champion bracket) when they are 15 and become rivals through that experience and later confess around age 17 so that’s the specific time period I usually draw them in (BW2-SM era).
The best way I could describe my version of HibiHika in terms of their dynamic is that I see them differently from their Pokémon masters counterparts so please allow me to explain.
The way I see Dawn in my interpretation is as a very refined, polite and mature young woman who’s very strict and hardworking. Despite her refined/strict aura, she can be sometimes brash or melodramatic at times but mostly keeps a level head. She often times comes out of her shell when a matter about something she’s passionate about comes up. She’s sorta a tsundere? But I’m unsure if that’s the most accurate term for it. Regardless she sometimes has difficulty getting along with others due to her intimidating nature but deep down she’s a sweetheart who wants to make friends. She’s extremely close with Barry cause he’s one of the only kids in her preschool class who kept dragging her places and reaching out to her as well as Lucas, her cousin.
When making my version of her when I was a teenager I sorta drew inspiration from characters like Dia Kurosawa from Love Live Sunshine as well as her Pokespe counterpart, Platina. I also drew some inspo from early Komi San as well (the aspect that everyone is intimidated by her at first glance).
In the hibihika story after the PWT arc, Lyra becomes one of Dawn’s first female friends outside of the gym leaders and Caitlin (who moved to Unova) and Lyra drags her out of her shell to places and the whole exchange is sweet.
The way she interacts with Ethan was first due to a small admiration due to seeing him on TV in the Lake of Rage report as the boy who calmed down Gyarados before her journey starts in Pt, then next it was due to hatred of meeting her idol meaning he was not what she thought he seemed (I’ll get to that in a second) but then afterwards they became proper rivals in the PWT and then kept in contact, eventually dating some time after.
(I actually have a AU of my stupid hc where they are pen pals as well during the whole PWT exchange so it’s like they know each other but don’t it’s really silly lol I’ll talk about it later or edit this later lol but in that au teen Ethan isn’t as toxic as I’ll describe now so ye)
For the Ethan side of things, Ethan is very laid back and amiable. He gets along easily with other people and is loyal to the people on his side. He is very selfless often putting others even his region before himself and has a slightly narcissistic side to him that feeds into the praise he gets lmfao. He’s flirty sometimes and very quick witted but overall. He loves Pokémon battling for the fun of it rather than chasing any fame or fortune.
but he wasn’t always this way (extremely bad fanfic territory incoming you can skip this if you want)
Ethan, upon defeating Red, begins to develop a massive ego as a teenager and gets mixed up with the wrong crowd who only likes him for his title and being the people pleaser he is he fed into that negativity and overall ruined his self esteem in the process cause he tied his self worth into his champion ranking rather than having fun in battles like he used to. He was lost in that spiral for the longest time that it made his closest friends like Lyra and Silver separate from him.
This is where the PWT would take place 4 years after their original adventure where Ethan, in the height of his toxicity, doesn’t put effort in training anymore cause he “always wins” and Dawn, disgusted with what her idol became sorta swept the floor and coldly admitted how unfun that battle was.
It’s sorta with this PWT battle, hundreds of miles away from home, that Ethan wakes up and goes what the hell am I doing with myself after seeing a news interview he did prebattle like after the battle. He calls his mom for the first time in ages and Silver and Lyra as well and goes back home and sorta detaches himself from the fame and fortune of being a champion and goes back to the basics. Keep in mind he does this change in his own will not for Dawn and doesn’t expect her to meet her again until a few months later they do meet again whoops but Ethan sorta apologizes for the way he acted and asks for another battle and Dawn accepts and even tho in this battle he lost again they both admit it was a lot funner than the last one and after a few more encounters sorta keep in touch bringing in a sorta friendly rivalry between the two. Despite Ethan completely changing his whole outlook there are some things that don’t change (Himmelism) but he is overall a sweetheart he just lost his way during his teenage years and needed someone to smack it into him before the damage was too done.
Once again this dumb ass fanfic isn’t necessary for hbhk stuff since I draw them as a couple anyways after Ethan’s asshole phase but I like exploring flirty characters with more to them in media so I accidentally made Ethan that lol.
Anyways would you believe me if I told you I based off his personality off of Sylvain. Lmfao. I love Sylvain he’s such a complex character sorry not sorry BUT mostly based him off of Himmel in terms of personality and how I draw him. I also based his asshole teenage phase from Gold Pokespe cause I thought that was the coolest shit as a kid but it has sorta changed over the years and I wanna separate Ethan from Gold Pokespe and Gold Pokespe fans as much as possible, especially after really liking his NPC self when playing HGSS myself as a teenager and feel not a lot of people sorta portray that and I wanna portray that.
So my Ethan is essentially both a mix of his npc self and some elements from Gold like his flirty outgoing loud personality so like my art style he’s sometimes inconsistent as hell but that’s ok that’s the hell I signed up for when I made up personalities but don’t write them down cause I’m too scared for being judged that my characters are inconsistent as hell 💔
maybe like when I wake up later I cringe reading myself this lol
I have more to write in regards to their dynamic with one another but I’m sleepy as hell
ANYWAYS TIMESKIP LITTLE RAMBLE AAAAA:
The Timeskip series, however, occurs 5+ years after the events of Alola so I have them as 22 (though I keep aging them up every year as I get older due to self indulgence so I draw them as 25 (cause in my head they were born in 1999) but they are specifically 22 for the sake of my story in Sinnoh 11 years later).
In the timeskip series, Dawn is the champion of Sinnoh and a famous Pokémon Coordinator. She follows in Cynthia’s footsteps to become a champion that makes her region proud but due to her strict demeanor she comes off as scary to those not familiar with her.
Ethan is the Champion of Johto as well as the promotional face of the Pokeathlon! Lyra and Silver help out in the indigo league as well but I’m uncertain if to make Silver an elite four member or make him champion. Lyra is definitely the champion tho along side Ethan but handles more of the Kanto side of the region while Ethan handles Johto. i have more to write so I’ll edit this later with all the lore but I’m worried there’s a tumblr word limit lol so ye

Thinking abt post-BW2 Ghetsis again...the conclusion to his story is so unique to me because he isn't banished or killed, nor does he find any kind of redemption. He just disappears completely having lost everything and the one person he could have ever cared about. I wonder how he feels about Colress, and how Colress feels about him too.
I find them both such interesting characters because they don't seem like the sort of people who would ever care about finding love or making friends for the sake of it. They refer to their relationship as an agreement several times in the manga and in the games - implying that if either of them were to find their goals diverging they'd just split off. But that isn't what happens at all. Colress loses to the protagonist and allows them to confront Ghetsis. And when they arrive, he's outraged. And throughout both BW and BW2 Ghetsis refers to his goals as strictly his, usually putting emphasis on it to show how selfish his ambitions are. But in that confrontation he says "our ultimate mission." Ghetsis is a selfish man, but the fact he wanted to share his ultimate goal with Colress shows just how close they were.
Colress definitely doesn't hate him, either. He says it, but the way he talks about Ghetsis in USUM shows pretty clearly that he still cares about him, even when faced with the worst possible version of his friend. But Colress hasn't spoken to his Ghetsis since his defeat.
Will he remain a husk of his former self forever? What happened to his Pokémon? Will Colress ever speak to him again, or will they always have this rift between them? There's something so tragic about both of them - they're terrible people who have done terrible things, but they were happy together at one point. While they were pursuing their goals, they were happy, and they understood each other in a way that went far, far beyond just an alliance out of convenience. They had something, but neither of them realised just what it was until it was too late.
But if Colress ever found him and spoke to him, or he ever went back out into the world, I wonder what kind of life he'd lead, and what sort of man he'd be.
#in the bw2 manga they refer to each other as “my friend” constantly as well like u arent fooling anyone#i want these two very very awful very evil men to be happy thank u#Sorry im just so caught up in the inherent tragedy of realising youre in love but only once its too late#shaking them violently TALK TO EACH OTHER RAHHGHGHGH#long post#antigravityshipping#Ghetsis#Colress

A really dumb idea I had:
Infinity:
A manga series in the Pokémon world, kind of like JoJo. It details the events of the games, but in a world where instead of Pokémon, people just. Have access to Infinity energy directly. The parts are:
Part 1: Red Green Blue
A tale of a ninja boy studying to become a great ninja. Probably the weakest story wise. Based on gen 1.
Part 2: Golden Days
2 years after the protagonist's journey, a young man ventures to explore the region he calls home, making friends and enemies along the way. The first to follow the Infinity formula. Based on gen 2.
Part 3: Flaming Oceans
A young man explores Hoenn on a vacation, oblivious to the lurking horror of the legendary beings awaiting him. Based on gen 3.
Part 4: Temporal Spatial Madness
A general election is taking place in Sinnoh, and a young man seeks to win it. On his campaign trail, he stumbles across a major conspiracy to overthrow the world order as we know it. Probably the most groundbreaking so far. Based on gen 4.
Special Saga: Will of God
A young man is sent to the ancient past by the Lord Arceus for unknown purposes. While dealing with the politics and mysterious powers of the land of Hisui, what awaits him? Based on Legends Arceus.
Part 5: Ideal Truth
It's Unova! A young man goes out on a journey of self discovery with his friends, and meets a man with a unique power: a complete lack of Infinity Energy. Along his path, he deals with those who seek to wipe out Infinity Energy altogether. Based on gen 5.
Special Saga 2: Shades of Gray
Two years after the Team Plasma incident, a new hero shows up in the wreckage. What world will he shape? What world has been shaped already? Based on BW2.
Part 6: Deadly Daily Stroll
In the beautiful region of Kalos, a new power awakens. What is this "Mega evolution"? Who are these people who desire eternal beauty? And what new and old faces will we meet this time? Definitely a game changer for the series, as it introduces arc gimmicks into the main series(they EXISTED in Special Saga 1, but not in mainline.)Based on Gen 6.
Part 7: Arrows of Sun and Moon
On the Alolan Isles, a young man seeks to become a master archer, despite his lack of skill. As he hones his skills, the forms of Z moves come into play. How will this power propel his growth? My second favorite idea. Based on gen 7.
Part 8: Warrior of Heaven and Hell
A young Galarian boy is sent on a journey by the strongest fighter in the region. Moreover, the power of "Dynamax", increasing one's size and strength, is becoming ubiquitous. What will this mean for the world? Probably my least favourite idea, but I still like it. Based on gen 8.
Part 9: Futurama
A teenager from Kanto moves to Paldea to go to the prestigious Uva Academy. On his way, however, he notices a mysterious injured woman at the beach, revealing metal and wires from her injuries. Moreover, he soon learns the power of "Terastal", crystallizing oneself to increase one's power. What is the true meaning of this phenomenon? What does it have to do with the woman at the beach? Who is she? And what does all this have to do with the mysterious Area Zero of Paldea? My personal favorite, and if I make specific region posts, the one I'm doing first. Based on Gen 9.
Takeaway: I am weird. Idk like/reblog if you want me to go further in depth on what I think any one part would be like. Have a wonderful day human

FLIPPING THE TABLES!!!! What are your favourite characters!!!!
I've been obsessed with a lot of Pokémon characters lately. Mostly Silver pokemon because he's silly. He's like the stereotypical jerk pokemon rival like Blue but with a bit more angst. A lot more angst in the Manga. I like Blue too especially in the manga. I like N pokemon too he's super cool but I like all the Unova rivals like Cheren and Bianca. Hugh is growing on me too even though I haven't played through much of bw2. I've still been obsessed with Arven though Penny and Nemona are fun too. Honestly rival groups that come in trios are super fun!! But I've been mostly obsessing over Johto and its Protags and rivals. I love Ethan and Crystal and Lyra. I love Gold and Crystal in the manga. The gym leaders are neat too. I love Morty and Whitney. I also like Eusine though he's not a gym leader he's just a silly guy looking for legendary dogs and he's even sillier in the manga.

What is your favorite Pokémon story???
Hey there anon! Ooh this is great and tough question. There's so many ways I could answer this. Do I like games, anime or manga overall? What are my favorite stories from all each of the three main media? I'm going to answer it by each universe since I have followed all 3 to some extent I'll start with the games and I'd honestly say the Gen 5 series is probably my favorite story and that's talking both BW and BW2. I've said this before but I usually don't care for the villainous teams all that much but Team Plasma definitely one of the (as of Scarlet/Violet) four teams I actually enjoyed (Others being Rocket, Skull and now Team Star). The way they were integrated into the story from the beginning to the end was really well done. That and I love it when the antagonists make you think about the established rules of the verse (Humans and Pokemon should work together...shouldn't they?). Plus seeing the individual arcs of Bianca, Cheren, N and Hugh were really touching to see. The timeskip between BW and BW2 helped a lot IMO and it was great to see time being acknowledged since that doesn't happen often in the Pokemon universe. For the anime, my favorite story would probably be the DP arc. I really loved how Dawn felt like a leading protagonist alongside Ash which was a first for the series (May walked so Dawn could run, and Dawn's also had clear impacts on Goh becoming a co-protagonist as well). The Paul vs Ash rivalry was honestly one of the best rivalries ever (even there were a few parts I wish Paul had gotten more chastising). And honestly while I didn't care for a lot of the Sinnoh Cast in games (admittedly the gen 4 games are my least favorite) the anime really made them shine and I adore all of the Sinnoh casts' anime personas. Also Gary and May coming back was a welcome treat. And I can't forget about the Team Galactic arc. Like I said earlier, I'm not a big fan of most of the evil team stories and Team Galactic gamewise is my least favorite. But the anime managed to really make me enjoy their arc with the inclusion of Hunter J and also allowing the Lake Trio to bond to Ash, Dawn and Brock and seeing Cynthia and Looker take even more active roles.
And then to round out things for the manga I would say my favorite arc from there would be the Ruby and Sapphire arc. I really loved the whole 80 day challenge and how Ruby was the one to do contests and Sapphire was the one to partake in the gym challenge.. It was a nice change of pace since up until that time I had been mainly an anime enjoyer so while I adored Ash and May, it was nice to see girls partake in battles and the guys partake in contests. Plus since Emerald was the first ever mainline game that I was able to complete as a child it was really nice to see the Team Aqua and Team Magma clash shown in a more narrative format (and in an overall better way than how the anime handled their plot). Seeing Steven and Wallace and the Elite Four get involved? It was amazing. Even Wally getting a chance to help out? So cool!

Imma actually elaborate on the last one when it comes to the community characterisation of Submas.
Before I continue, let me clarify that I like and I am a part of the community. I participate in the community. Liking Ingo has kinda been my personality trait for 2 years now. Also some of this extends to other members of communities that obsses over (niche) NPCs in Pokémon.
The less interaction does the NPC has with the player, the easier it is to develop OOC versions of them and we shouldn't be attacking people for their takes on the characters. The only reason to ever go out of your way to comment it in a harsh way is if it's hurtful. Like if someone writes the character as a stereotype. I don't go on AO3 so I don't have the full picture on how the Submas had been mischaracterized (OMG how do you spell that?) ,but I've heard that some people do make them autistic stereotypes or infantilize them.
First of, stereotyping is bad and while yes, liking trains is an autistic stereotype, that doesn't mean that Submas aren't allowed to like trains, liking trains is a part of them you can't take that out because then they aren't The Subway masters anymore. I am autistic and I like trains. There are a lot of autistic people who like trains. HOWEVER there are other stereotypes you should be careful about, like acting like a child and being this all innocent being that's either the most genius to ever genius or complete fool.
I've complained about the borderline/complete infantilization of Emmet specifically in my other blurb, but infantilization also extends to Ingo too. While it's OK in my opinion to write him as having to rely on others to navigate Hisui, keep in mind he's an adult man of ambiguous oldness (aka. we don't know how old he is just that he's definitely not in his 20s, probably in the 35+/40+ range when it comes to PLA). Personally I go about like "he can take a good care of himself and others, he just doesn't have the same sense of danger and self preservation skills as people who were born in Hisui".
Ingo is obviously across his different versions (BW-BW2, PLA, Masters EX, Pokémon anime and Pokémon Adventures manga) a strong trainer, same applies to Emmet, although about him later. According to Bulbapedia he's also the only trainer besides the Player who in PLA can use an Unown. If we take a look at his different teams, we can see that he's capable of using various Pokémon even if their sets are not really that optimal (example Earth Power on Gliscor, despite it's low Sp. Atk), but here comes the fact that you're playing a game so everything has to be represented by a number the computer reads and then determines the outcome. That doesn't mean he's this unbeatable trainer, Protagonist can beat him on more than one occasion and other characters can too, although we don't see him battling others that much if at all.
Also his narrative role is essentially just to give you access to Sneasler, call out Melli for his bs and accompany you for a bit before heading somewhere else again. In BW you only really interact with him at the Battle Subway and in BW2 you only have one more interraction with him and Emmet. Also in PLA he's kinda there as like the "there's someone in the same situation as you" character. There isn't that much to him in the game as others may sell you to, which is completely fine and also by the game's design. When making a game with a story you have to balance the characters and some are supposed to just be the side character.
Is he completely unimportant to the narrative? NO.
Can you write a story with him as a protagonist? YES!
You are allowed to expand the character of Ingo and various NPCs through Headcannons and AUs! However don't be angry that suddenly the character isn't like they are in cannon, because with NPCs like Ingo or Emmet or Looker etc. it's easy to make versions that are OOC. And that is completely fine as long as you don't go around telling people that that's the cannon when it is just your headcannons/fanon.
new tumblr game. put in the tags a GENUINE flaw your fav(s) has. cant be something like "too kind" or "loves too much" like something genuinely bad messed up morally wrong they are or have done

so in the games, only two mothers are named: Johanna and Grace. in the anime, Ash's mom is named Deilia and Max and May's mom is given the name Caroline. so every character in the anime who's based off a player character in the game has a mother
unfortunately, Hilbert, Hilda, Nate, and Rosa don't appear in the main series anime, and neither do their mothers as far as I'm aware.
like, literally all there is to go off of based on their personalities is that Hilda's mother used to be a trainer and Rosa's mother used to work at a pokemon center.
however!
Rosa's mother does appear in the Pokémon adventures manga.
Whitley, who's Rosa's counterpart in the manga, is a member of team plasma alongside her mother. originally, Whitley's mother worked at a day care when until she joined team plasma when she saw how many pokemon were being hurt by humans.
in the bw2 arc of the manga, after team plasma is disbanded, she enroles Whitley in a new school in Aspertia and tries to cut all ties with team plasma. she also told her daughter that she has a pendant that contains a pokemon controlling device from Colress and she tells her daughter to take it to the team plasma sages or something. idk the adventures manga is batshit insane.
sorry for the long post. I'm just kinda obsessed with these characters who don't have names and one only has a single line of dialog about the other.
do the protagonist's moms have names in pokemon?
or do I serious have to say "I ship Rosa's mom and Hilda's mom"? that's so stupid

Should I get Pokémon black or white if I want to see submas? This is your fault btw /hj /lh
you can find all the lines they say in BW/BW2 on youtube if you don't want to play the whole game, but they are fun games! there's actually more blorbo content (per say) in Masters EX though, and the manga and anime... but! if you like really tough battles then the subway is for you!

Now those of you who followed me before the DC comics days (or those who somehow scrolled fsr enough down my profile) will know how many fandoms I've been in. So let's get this show on the road!
1. Xanthe Xhou (DC Comics)
I don't know that many people know them, but Xanthe is SUCH a badass. They featured in their own 6-issue run, Spirit World, this year, which is honestly so iconic. The art? The story? The character development? AMAZING. Not to mention that series has got Cass in SUCH a beautiful Batgirl costume! Xanthe and their half-living half-dead shenanigans are ptecious to me and i have all of my spirit world issues on display (all variant covers!) not to MENTION that the absolute queen jessica fong made 3 different variant covers foe this series, too?
2. Shinsou Hitoshi (bnha/mha)
If there was EVER an autistic coded character in that show-
but really, I love shinsou. He means so much to me personally and the feeling of being seen as bad or wrong for something out of your control, and for something you haven't ever done, just because of other people's preconcieved notions about what is "good" and "bad"? He deserves better than he got and honestly, the way he is getting to shine in the manga's current arc pleases me a lot. And I mean, come ON, he literally imitates people as his superpower? AUTISM CENTRAL.
3. N (pokémon main videogames)
Basically the same as Shinsou, here...plus the idea of Pokémon liberation to my tiny little 7-year-old brain did irreversible damage. Not to mention how pretty this man is- and how much of a sucker I am for tragic backstories, too. I really love the character development and the way his character was carried on and portrayed in BW2.
4. Aled Last (Heartstopper universe)
Radio Silence has to be one of my favourite books, and Aled's character is very nuanced and just...Man. I love him so much. I love his stupid hair and his secret podcast and his neon green shoes. Aled's story is one that I barely see anyone talking about in the Heartstopper community, even though it's such a good one. And exploring the depth and spectrum of asexuality with Aled and his boyfriend was really personal for me. We don't get enough Canon asexual characters across any mediums.
5. Hobart Brown/Spider-Punk (Marvel Comics)
Punk? Check. Spider-powers? check. sick-ass guitar? check. honestly, what isn't to love about this guy? Hobie's Spider-Punk character is one of my favourite spins on the Spider-man powers and the comic art and storyline are both excellent. Plus, his redesign and character on the Spider-Verse movie is on point, too!
6.Saiki Kusuo (The disastrous life of Saiki K)
He is truly the epitome of aroace swagger. Canonly transgender, loves sweets, and just generally wants people to leave him alone to watch anime. He literally has the power to become a god but chooses noy to because he can't be bothered. What a king.
7. Fischl (Genshin Impact)
She was the first character I got in Genshin Impact! I'm quite a fan of long-range fighters in general, and her design is gorgeous. I love her tragic anime backstory and then her made-up tragic anime backstory. She really is just a teenage girl with an Instagram roleplay account and she wins for that
8. Madoka Kaname (Puella Magia Madoka Magica)
She's God, she's a lesbian, she's mostly useless for the entire series. What else do I gotta say?
9. Caleb Widogast (Critical Role)
He's like if a pathetic drowned cat was a man. His backstory is phenomenal, he's bisexual, he has a magic cat, he has trauma, and a cool design. Big fan of him and Molly!
10. Jayfeather (Warrior Cats)
(this art is by @ataleoftides)
My roots of fandom- everything I am is from long-term exposure to the warrior cats fandom when i was a kid. Jayfeather is sarcastic, disabled, asexual, can and will kill you, and an all-round badass. But he will also complain about literally everything there is to complain about. Just like me, fr.

Cassandra Cain: DC. It was hard to choose just one DC character, but she's my girl. When I think of her, I think of redemption and love and sacrifice and aiming to be perfect even if you destroy yourself in the process. I could write essays about her, don't tempt me.
Samwise Gamgee: Lord of the Rings. How do you hold on to hope when the world is burning? How do you believe that there's good, and that it's worth fighting for? How do you love despite everything? By being Samwise Gamgee, that's how.
Billie Lurk: Dishonored. Another character carrying the weight of her guilt on her back (I love those), but also the weight of being a complete badass (I also love those).
Hadrian Blackwater: Riyria Revelations. He's a gentle giant. A man capable of infinite kindness, but who also has a big sword and knows how to use it. Ah, he's also a thief. What more could you want?
Viktor: Arcane. A self-isolated dreamer, a hurt idealist, a man in love with knowledge and at war with his own body.... let's just say I relate to him way too much.
Sophie Hatter: Howl's Moving Castle. I love movie Sophie and I love book Sophie. She gets to find her place and her confidence while calling others (mostly Howl) on their bullshit. A true hero.
Inej Ghafa: Six of Crows. I want to see her burn the world and get revenge on everyone who hurt her, but I also want to see her free and smiling and demanding the love she deserves.
Leon S. Kennedy: Resident Evil. Watch this poor guy kill zombies for the millionth time and solve ridiculous puzzles while delivering the corniest one-liners. He needs vacations and therapy.
Nathan Drake: Uncharted. Mister Cognitive Dissonance. He's a nerd, he's a thief, he'll say "oh crap" and tell funny jokes while murdering hundreds of mercenaries.
Kaladin Stormblessed: The Stormlight Archive. There's something about having a character who's lost everything and who's given up, but then decides to fight against all odds with tooth and nail for the sake of others just to realize "Hey, I'm fighting for myself as well."
No pressure tags!! @zukoisblorbo @cephalog0d @xetlretl @putting-the-bi-in-robin @manjirian @opposite-of-aster and anyone who feels like playing!!
