essentially a blog where my personal experiences as a (first gen american) black queer person will be talked about through a lens of analyzation, as well as analyzing theory from those who came before me. thats the main purpose, anyway. will also probably get silly sometimes on here. what can i say; its in my nature.

antiblackness and my frustration with it will be a heavy topic here, and mentions of violence, both historical and present, will be mentioned quite a bit here. i will tag it as needed.

transmisogynoir will also be a topic here, and i'll be pulling from black trans women who are essayists, my own birds eye view of it as a black person, and lived experiences of black transfems who i know and love. mentions of violence from this will be properly tagged as well.

the tagging system will probably grow larger as we go along, but let me set out the baseline now:

#sign of my times - my own personal ramblings and vents through an analytical lens. theory will be drawn upon here, but it'll be applied to my own experiences.

#mental digest - analyses of the essays, books, and other such i've read.

#tales from the table - writing about the experiences of others, sometimes collaborating directly with them, sometimes not.

#point n' click - me analyzing antiblackness in media or spaces that were not dedicated to it or written by other black people, but still intrigue me. will be almost entirely my own thoughts on the piece.

#no place like - specifically studying theory, black, queer, or otherwise, from Ghana. it's where my family is from, and the situation over there at the moment for my queer family is dire. sometimes will be my own thoughts on it as well.

first half of the main cast for a story ive had kicking around my head for a bit :]

While I was rewatching The Phantom Menace yesterday, I was thinking during the sequence at the end with the N-1 Starfighters that one of them could be Din's, and boom! A rather amusing new headcanon was born.

So, obviously we know that Peli Motto somehow came into possession of one of the ships and in approximately 9ABY on Tatooine, she restores it with Din on Tatooine.

But what if four decades previously, it was the same starship used by a certain Anakin Skywalker during the Battle of Naboo...

So, why would this be funny?

Well, because of what Anakin uses the ship for, and the fact its eventual owner has a well known disdain for droids...

After Anakin leaves the hangar on Naboo, he joins the dogfight up in space. Eventually, he finds himself on one of the Trade Federation's ships and after a bit of panicking, has a great time destroying a few droids...

As they fire at him, he launches a few shots which inadvertently causes the Droid Control Ship to blow up. Every single one of the thousands of droids on Naboo instantly powers down, ensuring that the planet is saved.

But this kid really used an N-1 starfighter to blow up an enormous ship of vital strategic importance. I mean, look at it go! Bye bye droids!

I have nothing to base this hc off other than Anakin used an N-1 to destroy droids and Din (who hates droids) eventually has the same kind of ship. But I'm running with it because I think it's hilarious and that Din would be pretty pleased to know that his N-1 has a history of destroying droids...

Wizard, indeed.

Seeking the far horizons of physical sensation, you boldly thrust into the keyhole of the Dragon Ruins chest. You feel a cold, gritty atmosphere, delicate motes of crystallized magic a strange sensation on skin not usually left exposed. This mild discomfort is eclipsed utterly not a moment later by the singular agony of a ravenous Pest sucking your length deep into its voracious mandibles, savaging you from afar for several minutes until you die helplessly of blood loss, shock, and pain.

so if you've been following me for a bit, you've maybe seen me talk about it before, or noticed my tags, or w/e, but I've been in the process of developing a story for the last few years.

I've been calling it hell&highwater.

it's about a witch turned saintkiller turned bartender turned bodyguard, and the saint-to-be who falls in love with her. it has a tarot-based world and magic system, a culture centered around witchcraft and magic, people who can turn into dragons, Arcane Saints, lots of action, and i've made over 300 characters for it so far. most of the characters have three different names (magic !!). and just this last week, I started writing up the script and drawing out thumbnails as I...get ready to actually make the thing.

I've already posted lots of worldbuilding stuff there, and will be doing more as I go !! I rarely show wips but i'm pretty excited about...where all this is going, tbh.
