Root- Root has unbelievable nuance as a character; she's on the Machine's side no matter what, and what that means is....malleable

Carter: Goes from hunting down the main characters to becoming one of their greatest allies. She also goes from being extremely strait laced and firm in her morals to starting a massive war between corrupt cops and Russian gang members, talk about character development!

Samantha Groves/Root:

She's a hacker that starts off as an antagonist and even kidnaps a main character, and tortures some people. She ends up saving the world from an AI takeover/apocalypse. She's a self proclaimed psychopath and worships The Machine, a true AI she considers a god. She's a lesbian and in love with another main character Shaw, who she also kidnaps at some point (but Shaw shoots her so they're even). She is a girlboss because she's an extremely competent hacker and is very good with a gun. But she also has her goofy and useless lesbian moments. She's such an interesting and layered character.

Charlotte "Lottie" Matthews was submitted without propaganda.

Stranger Things: 4.04 Dear Billy

tw lots of blood, kind of eye gore? (a character ripped out his own eyes and you see his scarred face, you do NOT see it happen), a character is very clearly suicidal and is targeted by a supernatural murderer for this, the murderer's MO is breaking every bone in the person's body by twisting their limbs around and then blowing out their eyes but idr if we see that in THIS ep or just the ones before. max's speech right before The Scene can also be triggering as she's at the grave of her abusive stepbrother and she gives a very honest speech about how she was terrified of him and yet still misses him and then hallucinates him yelling at her again.

Max is in grave danger - and running out of time. A patient at Pennhurst asylum has visitors. Elsewhere, in Russia, Hopper is hard at work.

Root: The best way to describe her almost stalker-like obsession with the Machine. She's devoted herself to an obsessive quest to find it and set it free, and she doesn't care who she has to kill, blackmail, or otherwise ruin to get at it. Some of this bleeds into her relationship with her actual love interest, Shaw. She says she doesn't want anyone to hurt Shaw except for her and casually talks about the death of a man Shaw is on a sort-of date with. (Source: tv tropes)
