I like that this show doesn't sugarcoat things and make miraculous things happen. It shows the reality some people face, no bullshit.

What is bullshit is how that teacher reacted, and how some people think that way in real life. The mentality of some people..

Like my mom says “it’s just stuff” it can be bought again, credit can be rebuilt; she said she would help me get on my feet, encouraging me to go to school here and live rent free so long as I can pay my car, the insurance, and my phone. I am so lucky I have a supportive family.

My pride is hindering me from being happy. I spent so many years building myself up just to be brought down again, but that’s what happens in life, and in love. Trial and error.

I haven’t been a peach in this all, I have been terrible at times. But I feel like it’s a reflection of how unhappy I have been. I don’t want to feel like my feelings are a burden anymore. I don’t want to feel like they are too much for anyone. And anyone who truly loved me or cared about me wouldn’t say otherwise.

I am sick of apologizing for things that I shouldn’t have to, I am aloud to feel, and entitled to a voice. I will not be domineered anymore. This isn’t a competition on who is right or wrong. I am aloud to have my time to talk and express too. I am aloud to call the shots too…. In fact, nobody should call the shots, its supposed to be equal.

A combination of little and big things, that we never really talk about, or we push to the side is what brought us to this point. And honestly it makes me really fucking sad. I haven’t eaten really in days; I have dropped 10 lbs… I hate that I let myself get this way again.

Can’t focus, as you can tell from my writing, I am all over the place.

Anyway, I am sick of the lies, I have been nothing but transparent this whole time and all I ever expected was the same. This happens in all my relationships, people become so intimidated of me I guess, and just lie and lie and lie. When honestly, I respect and appreciate straight forwardness and direct honesty rather than finding out otherwise. I hate sketchy shit; I have been through this too many times. And people wonder why I have insecurities. But at the end of the day, DON’T blame your choice to lie on me.

I know she met “L” on POF (which for someone in a serious relationship being on these apps is highly inappropriate), not from her group of friends. I know they have been texting since Valentines Day, I know that her number starts with 512, which is ironically a Texas area code NOT Cali… I know that she shaved her entire body before going out the night after Valentines after talking to “L” all day, I am sure they were going to meet up or something, and/or something came up and it didn’t happen, then she comes home pissed ... it’s just too coincidental to not be sketch. I mean it could be innocent, but it also could not be innocent…. Either way she lied. And still will lie about it. I never would have looked into this if I hadn’t had a tip from a friend.

I will never understand when relationships go to shit, people are so fucking eager to start looking. I heal... there is no way after I’ve exhausted all my heart into one person I can jump into something else. But hey you do you.

Hello everyone! Let's talk about something that doesn't really get talked about, not that I can tell at least. So just a few short months ago I have birth to a very handsome 7 lbs. 10 oz, 20 1/2 inch long boy. Yay! Congratulations to me, I am super in love with my boy! He is my first born. So some people think,"Awwww being a fort time mom is the best!". If you are one of those people I am going to stop you there, not in a mean way of course, how would you know ,that before I gave birth to my handsome boy, I became a mom 4 years ago to my FIRST baby! I did not give birth to her, but I did accept her into my heart and life like she was my own. The love I have for her is just as strong as the love I have for my son! Let me tell you a little about how this happened (short version):

Back in 2016 I was just a normal 20 year old still living with her mom and twin sister and younger brother. In the apartment above her grandfather and older sister. I worked at McDonald's, making minimum wage, still figuring out what I wanted in life, like what I wanted to be, what I wanted in a man, figuring out who I was and praying I wasn't going to stay at McDonald's forever. Also hoping I wasn't going to be like my mom l and be alone at 45 years old!

So it was the year of 2016 like alot of young adults around my age, I may or may not have had a dating app called POF, and for you dating app virgins out there, Plenty Of Fish was the full name of the app. Just like many other apps, POF had a swipe left for no, swipe right for yes.(If my memory serves me right) I swiped many rights and even more lefts, because just like other women I have a type lol. I came across a picture, of a handsome man, holding what I assumed was his infant child. He had a smile that would knock any person off their feet, beautiful eyes, muscular, nice hair, etc. So me being the daring person I am, took a chance and swiped right, thinking to myself that someone who looked like me(5'4'' and on the chunky side). Just a few short days later I get a message from this daring swipe to the right, and we hit it off. He was a single man, who was having a tough time in the world as an adult, and because I'm a sorry for them type, we talked for awhile and decided to meet up, in the presence of a close friend of mine, because you never know now a days. We hung out, watched TV, he was very gentleman like. He didn't know his boundaries, so I had to make the first move, and it's not what you think, it was just holding hands lol. The time came for our meet up to end, so he hugged me goodbye, and said he would talk to me later. The best part about that night I remember, was his first compliment towards me was my eyes, then get this my hands lol. Never have I been complimented on my hands before. But anyways we hung out every day after that. I do have to admit I felt bad for him, he was homeless, and unfortunately he had a drug addiction that was getting the best of him. So my soft heart took him in, I was nervous at first because I didn't want to be used for just a place to live and food to eat. When it came to his daughter, that I assumed was in the picture with him, she lived an hour away with a family friend of the birth mom. The birth mom refused to let him see her for the longest time, despite many attempts. When he found out she was not in her care, he started taking her on the weekends only while he got his addiction under control. After seeing her on the weekends, every weekend for a couple months, the birth mom, also a drug addict, threatened to take the baby away to live near the border of Canada. After that something clicked in this new found boyfriend of mine saying enough is enough, he got clean and when he felt confident enough, he picked her up on a weekend and never brought her back. Now let me say, they were married at the time and there was no custody settled in court so he legally could do this. He was living with me and my family, and I felt something about this man where I felt nothing but pure joy to help this man realize his full potential as a father, a CLEAN father. From that moment on, he was the best boyfriend and dad I have ever seen. He stayed clean, worked, and provided for his child.

I never started introducing myself as mom to this infant, I was always known as my first name. I didn't want to label myself as mom to this innocent soul, because we both didn't know if our relationship would last, because it was still new. I watched her while he worked, and every day I watched her grow, and learn, I was falling in love with this child, just like I was with her father. I knew I couldn't have one without the other. From that moment on my life changed. Our relationship became more serious, we fell in love, I met his family, he met mine. We knew there was something between us. After a year of fighting his ex for custody, he got full custody, with him being the sole legal guardian. It took so long because she never showed up, she was in a downward spiral, and showed no interest in getting better for herself. We tried to work with her, get her help, make her apart of her child's life safely, but she wasn't working with us, so it got to a point where we decided that there was nothing we could do to help her if she wasn't willing to help herself.

Within that year, we got our own apartment,full time jobs, the baby was turning into a toddler and was in day care the days we were working. She was thriving, happy, healthy, and a beautiful little girl. At this point I was being referred to as mom, because hers was not there, not for a new court date, not for one visit to spend time with her child. I was the only one she knew. I taught her how to walk, talk, I fed her, bathed her, put clothes on her back. I am, for all intents and purposes, her mom.

No back to current times lol. After almost 3 years of having full custody, the birth mom has only seen her a handful of times. Our now 4 year old only knows her by her first name. Her father and I are now engaged, we still fully support ourselves, he works full time at a better paying job, and I work part time as a teacher's aide, and we are both killing it as full time parents to now 2 beautiful children.

Sorry I went off a little off topic here lol, it's my first time blogging and I'm working on it. My beautiful 4 year old, has taught me everything I have ever dreamed about being a mom. Not only have I taught her how to be the kind, caring, smart little girl she is, she has taught me how to be the best mom I can be. Honestly I am still learning every day and so is she. She is the best big sister to her new little brother, and I can't be so proud. To this day her birth mom, still tells my fiance, that I will never be her mom because I didn't give birth to her. Which is true, I did not give birth to her, but I am more of a mom to her then she has ever experienced from her birth mom. My point is I became mom a long time ago, and my circumstances may not be like everyone else's, but it doesn't take blood to be a parent, it takes how you take care of a child. Nurture a child, show them the meaning of life, help them grow, learn, and take care of them. That's what it takes to be a parent! My journey to parenthood, is far from over, but with both of our children it feels like I have a new journey waiting for me every day.

Spoiler Free review of “All or Nothing”

After a cut because long post, many words, skritt math. 

The Story (No details)

Overall it's probably one of the best executed episodes worth of story that they’ve released in the last couple of Seasons. 

The Final Battle is more akin to the kind of scale you see in the Zorah Magdaros battle in Monster Hunter World than you’d expect to find in GW2, and that was a huge improvement compared to previous Elder Dragon battles. Having an active role in the battle, along with the NPCs not just “swinging their sword Oh look they swung it again” at trash mobs, and actually being useful- firing siege weapons, fighting mobs, picking you up if you get downed

So many call backs to minor named NPCs- some personal early personal story, and others from pact/priory/vigil etc It lead to a feeling of being surrounded by familiar faces as you lead the charge.  The short piece after the battle was also a well designed experience- the lack of UI and the “damage” lines that you felt when Balthazar killed you in PoF, further push the “oh fuck we’re pretty badly wounded”, along with the forced walk/limp and fall to our knees when we try to hop down along the uneven floor. The main character’s animation here was excellent and slow pace allowed Anet to sculpt a tightly designed experience that is as shocking as it is memorable. I won’t forget that last visual.

Brandon Bales and Debi Derryberry probably did the best voice work in this episode (imo- I haven't played it through on a non-sylvari male). It was extremely immersive and I totally bought what was happening as they expressed it.  I appreciated that the Zephyrites’ song/choir got further development, and how its relevant to the story just made it a really nice touch overall. 

I did think it felt very short- only 3 instances. It may be that they pushed the pacing to emphasise the commander rushing headlong and gambling dangerously on the first ideas that come to them, and they do love a cliffhanger at the end.  It ends on a flat note though, you can’t even interact with story NPCs after you finish it- nothing in the shiverpeaks map changes, no dialogue no “I’m just checking in” updates, nothing.  Final Note: WHERE ARE KASMEER AND MARJORY 

The Map

Huge! Ruins! Subterranean structures! Exploring! Absolutely nailed the Guild Wars 1 Shiverpeak atmosphere.but uh...not much to do past that. 

The Thunderhead Keep meta is fun- I love defense events that allow us to set traps, build barricades and ballistae. The Boss is TOO BRIGHT. It is impossible to see even with effects turned down and post processing off. Anet needs to reassess their priorities with visual telegraphing because right now you can’t see a thing, never mind reacting to the thing. 

Minor Quibble. UH WHERE DID THAT CLIFF AND PIT COME FROM? I’m pretty sure that the mountains just...continued north of the keep in GW1, and a little further north you’d come to the Mursaat teleporter to Hell’s Precipice. 

The dredge meta is...hard to get people to defend the 2nd and 3rd drills- I’ve yet to be successful on this one. 

The delay between meta active times feels a bit long, and perhaps its just the layout of this one, but there isn’t much notification if North or south meta is happening/how long until X etc. 

I don’t like that Map Completion can’t be soloed- Both metas are required. Unless you find a friendly mesmer or buy the Light of Deldrimor from the TP. 

Past the Metas, I’ve seen maybe 5 or 6 events tops on this huge environment. That is pretty woeful. I get that this was probably a high budget episode with two cutscenes, unique character animations and PvE environments built to scale with the GW1 counterparts (why did dwarves build so big anyway?), but the overall quiet map is a bit of a let down- considering the variety of content available in Jahai.

I adore the skritt/priory interactions, and an above ground village of Dredge being shown in in a positive light. Even if literally every member of the survivors has had to kill their friends and family with their own hands. 

The Mastery 

Heavily Situational and will take some getting used to. It doesn’t have that immediate “Good Feel” as mounting your griffon midair or while gliding. Being “animation locked” for most of the launch prevents you from gliding or re-mounting, so you just plummet for the most part and lose out on any air you might have hoped to gain from using it. 

At least we can be thankful it wasn’t required to complete the story or meta.

The Fractal

Dreams: Crushed Hopes: Sundered Orr: Ignored.  Instead of picking an interesting pirate/corsair character that could use a bit of story development, they go with the boisterous ghost from the Lion’s Arch Jumping Puzzle. 

This fractal is short (at T1- it’ll likely have more complexity as you go up) and very sparse on story. The music is good, and the environment is good. Dessa continues to be the shining star of most fractals with her responses to the situations she gets to observe.  Probably won't be the new Challenge mode fractal that people were hoping for, but the fight mechanics are fun and different. 

I’d appreciate it if Anet could relinquish their choke grip they’ve had on talk like a pirate day 2012 that seems to permeate all of their pirate related content- it always feels kind of like even the characters themselves don’t take themselves seriously. There's just something pretty wack with them.  (and I’m not talking about all the landlocked core game pirates just living in lakes barely big enough for their bases) That’s Enough. 

The Legendary

Probably one of the nicest they’ve done in a while. Initially I was put off by it- the official preview of it in the reveal trailer didn’t really show it off very well- not the steps, aura or on-draw effect. However on this video from someone who got it before release, they point out a few things about it that really sell it for me.

I love the scorch mark on draw, with the dubstep twangs the most. A little disappointed that Range LB 5 is unaffected- it could have been very pretty (ie spirit bow active visuals).   It's a very refined weapon that will certainly suit a lot more characters than Kudzu, and I’ll probably make it after I finish Ipos. In like a year.

The Music

Knocks itself out of the park in a home run touchdown or however sports works. The choral piece for Aurene is very beautiful, and I especially appreciate the tarir motif used towards to the end of the track.  Re-used GW1 themes in the map give a very nostalgic feel, and the fractal has a unique Shanty theme, along with what was used for this year’s Festival of the Four winds. 

OVERALL SCORE 7.5/10

The story is moving and immersive, the encounters well designed and well executed, however sparse event placement on the map kinda gets :/ from me. 

Fractals continuing a trend of “we can do anything in the history of tyria- but lets focus on the boring parts” is also disappointing. 

PS. The .5 comes from the Skritt writing and voice acting.  So pure and wholesome.

What a finale. Not the biggest, most cliffhanger-y finale, but sometimes it doesn't need to be. I think this was such a well rounded season, showing not only the Acosta siblings' feelings, but the parents' and other minor characters' as well. We got a pretty good introduction to all the characters in just 10 episodes.

I found it interesting how content Val and Beto seemed to be by the end of the episode though. Beto's been observing and trying to understand what's been going on with his parents and Valentina. He's been comforted by Ella that his parents are fine and that Val and Rafa would be fine with them. He seems to be pretty at peace with things at the moment.

Val, being the optimistic kid that she is, thinks staying with her parents is the best option, because why miss out on a childhood with them if she had the choice? I don't think it's gonna be as peachy as the whole family thinks though. Aside from the social services intervention, there's also the added layer of their parents no longer being as in love as they used to be.

Javi and Gloria... what happened between them? Was it the realization that Glo never got the chance to be on her own, and was always torn between several different families? Was it the distance from their whole family and being alone, just the two of them, that made her realize she can't love him when they're separated from their kids? It's heartbreaking to see them fall out of love, and it's crazy how being put in situations you're not used to can give you a whole other perspective on how you see yourself as a person.

The parents have been shown to be "picture perfect" this whole time. As shitty of a reality as it is, people grow apart, no matter how in love they are. I'd love to see how different they are as parents in season 2 (here's hoping there is one.)

Lucia is just going through it, dude. She's barely scratched the surface of her own self discovery. And she's a part of this activism group. She was willing to jump in and join that protest at the slight chance of impressing Sully, and I think that's kind of dangerous. She's all about standing up for what she believes in, and that's awesome, but I think a lot of the motivation comes from her crush. She wasn't even ready to tell Matthew, but I'm glad she at least took that first, small step in talking to him about it, cause he's the perfect person to talk to about this.

Matthew knows what's up. He knows how hard it is to come out, and he made her feel so comfortable with that conversation. We got so little of him this season, so I'm excited to see more of him and his and Lucia's friendship in the next season!

Emilio and Natalia... That relationship is so new, I still don't know how to feel about it. Milo's commitment issues aren't gonna go away that easily. This could very well be his first "real" serious relationship (unless you count Vanessa,) and there are relationship things I don't think he's ever dealt with yet. She's super great though. She knows how to take care of kids, and I think she's a great character to have to show Milo the ropes and give him advice. And again, what the family is going through isn't an unheard thing for her. She gets it.
