Un giorno volevo descrivere il dolore che provai nel veder tagliare gli alberi di un giardino, ma ci riuscì meglio un bambino in sole poche righe.

Una volta volevo rendere la bellezza della neve caduta sulla terra, ma ci riuscì meglio un bambino che abitava sulle montagne.

Un giorno cercai di tradurre in parole il pianto del fiume inquinato, ma le parole più giuste furono quelle di un bambino che abitava sul fiume.

Una sera cercai di scrivere una poesia per un cielo di stelle, ma l'aveva già scritta un bambino che guardava sempre il cielo.

Una volta piansi per la cattiveria e le ingiustizie del mondo, ma le lacrime più vere furono quelle di un bambino.

Le parole di quei bambini, i loro sogni, i loro pensieri sono messaggi di verità: li affido agli abitanti della terra, spesso stanca e malata, affinchè sappiano trarne un insegnamento.

I once wanted to render the beauty of snow falling on the earth, but a child who lived in the mountains did it better.

One day I tried to translate the cry of the polluted river into words, but the most correct words were those of a child who lived on the river.

One evening I tried to write a poem for a sky full of stars, but a little boy who was always looking up at the sky had already written it.

I once cried over the wickedness and injustices of the world, but the realest tears were those of a child.

The words of those children, their dreams, their thoughts are messages of truth: I entrust them to the inhabitants of the earth, often tired and sick, so that they know how to draw a lesson from them.
