Welp, that does it. Now it actually doesn't matter if you vote. Biden was the last US president, under any recognizable definition of the term, and may I say I genuinely don't think anyone else under the same constraints could have done better.
Here's what to expect going forward.
* Election Day: A few scattered shootings of poll observers. Not a lot, not organized, maybe half a dozen nationwide. The Republican Party decries this interference to the democratic process. Many widely publicized instances where Democrats at the polls were harassed or physically attacked until they responded with something that can be framed as violence, presented as demonstrating that the Democrats are out of control, the real danger, etc.
* If the vote goes Trump's way, which I expect, peace until Inauguration Day. People with the resources to do so should flee the country at this point.
* If the vote starts going Biden's way, many shootings at vote-counting locations in purple and blue areas, destruction of many "fake/duplicate" votes.
- If Biden is elected (which I very much don't expect as the propaganda buy-in against him is so high), on vote count ratification day, Capitol Riots 2.0: No Democrat Left Standing.
* On Inauguration Day, if Biden is elected and refuses to vacate the White House, televised raid on the White House and publicly televised summary execution of President Biden. (Since, under the Supreme Court ruling, he *also* has infinite power above the law, he cannot be allowed to survive. Barack Obama, if he has not fled the country by them, will also be either executed or assassinated at some point in any timeline. Bill Clinton may be safe unless he makes trouble, but I wouldn't test it.)
* On Inauguration Day, if Trump is elected and Biden leaves the White House peacefully (my own expectation), Trump swearing-in followed immediately by the signing of approximately five million executive orders. My best guesses:
- Full legal immunity for any "citizen patriot" who shoots non-Republicans or POC
- dismissal and execution of the three liberal Supreme Court justices
- all reproductive rights gone
- all queer protections gone
- all social services such as food stamps and Medicaid gone
- all digital privacy rights gone
- the National Guard rolling out to truck everyone of Hispanic or Latino extraction to the Mexican border (without food or water) and dump their dehydrated corpses there, with the widely publicized "wall of bodies" touted as the final solution to those damn illegals (they will also continue building the actual wall)
- massive expansions of the prison industrial complex, newly built prisons and labor camps will eventually house all Black people who can be funnelled there
- erasing all women's rights is probably not day one but it'll happen
"oh but this is perfect! nobody will stand for this! the revolution will finally happen!" our military spending outstrips the rest of the world combined. and none of you know how to operate a resistance with disconnected cells for shit. someone so much as whispers about revolution and a MAGA with an AK-47 pops up and takes out the entire group that heard them. you think i'm exaggerating. the only exaggeration is that it might be at the second meeting.
will it matter to me personally? no. i have an X for nonbinary on my driver's license. i'll be shot on sight or in a conversion therapy concentration camp. leia will be dead because they'll jack the price of insulin back up.
do i still plan to vote for biden? sure. it'll be my last chance to assert my independence.

so sorry ppl that cant read are sending you messages about those posts but i get it completely. rheumatologists and osteos and NP's want to hear more abt my decade old severe anxiety and depression and adhd and ~more~ diagnoses than chronic debilitating pain and just slap vitamin D pills on it and throw up their hands because "test results are weird idk what to tell u even tho i said it was this two weeks ago". abled friends and coworkers can have conversations about their mental health struggles but its looked at self pityingly if i bring up how my life is irreparably damaged by my physical disability because disabled people have to be strong and resilient to earn a place in their field and if you cant cut it just get on those snazzy disability benefits and let it get worse. i think a lot of abled ND people just cant accept that they do not experience the worst of life's struggles and that solidarity doesnt make us the same
I try to be understanding and answer peoples questions politely when I have the spoons and if they are genuinely confused bc I used to be ignorant as well about a lot of aspects of physical disability but it gets so tiring. Nowadays there are a ton of resources from physically disabled people talking about their experiences its actually quite easy to educate yourself on our struggles. Like sorry I get a little frustrated and rude when I'm constantly bombarded by ableism and rude ass people.
Also yeah that's exactly what I've been trying to say. Doctors can usually relate to people having mental health struggles and even some aspects of neurodivergencey. But they cannot understand someone looking completely fine and not being able to detect anything but complaining of horrible pain and constant tiredness outside of the lense of mental health. And if your mental health is managed or only suffering because you are in constant pain, they say you're faking, or OBVIOUSLY you just need to lose weight, or drink more water, or exercise more than any able bodied person does. People take one look at me and think the solution is obvious and I'm just too stupid or lazy to figure it out.
And me saying this isn't saying that mental illness is super easy to deal with. Its fucking awful as well and many doctors say this shit to neurodivergents as well. And this is especially true for poc and people with psychosis or bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
I went to my first therapist in my sophomore year of highschool and got medicated that same year. I started investigating my health issues in college freshman year and have JUST gotten actual results from treatment. SIX fucking years later. SIX fucking years of CONSTANT PAIN. And I have great insurance and a great dad who just wants me to feel better (my mom is a different story). My parents are sort of upper middle class and I live in a very privileged area. Of course that means I can't afford to move out even with an ok salary, but at least there are plenty of doctors around to choose from and plenty of appointments available. I can't imagine how long it takes someone without those advantages. And even still I had to fight to be listened to, I had to listen to so much bs from doctors and had to go from doctor to doctor begging for someone to listen.
Like they really don't get how unbelievably hard it is to get care for physical disabilities, visible and invisible. If you're visibly disabled you get treated like a child and a monster and you're isolated from society. If you're invisibly disabled you get laughed at by doctors and ignored. If it's hard for you guys imagine that difficulty increased by 100%.
I try to be really visible when I'm working in a position I know has my back. I really try to educate young people and children on what my disability looks like and I hope disabled kids and kids who eventually become disabled can see me and know that their lives are valuable and they are valuable. And it is possible to find joy in your life and reasons to keep living. And employers shouldn't be able to throw away our resumes and pay us less just cause we may need a little extra help. I know what everyone thinks when they see me in my wheelchair and using my walking sticks and when I tell them I need to take a break as I'm running out of spoons. I know their first thought is what the hell am I doing here if I'm in so much pain? When people see me by myself in my wheelchair they think I must have gotten lost and separated from my abled handler. I love my job, I love what I do, and I want to be able to keep doing it. But I can't work as long as an abled person, I can't do it without accommodations. Hell abled people shouldn't be working as long as they do either. I wish to live a life where I'm free to do the work I love without killing myself and still be able to live a comfortable life. Every disabled person, working or not, deserves to live a comfortable life.
#chronic disability#chronic pain#physical disability#cripplepunk#spoonie#disability#working while disabled#sorry this is all kinda jumbled and longn#as you all know i write long posts#wrenfea.ask

a baby leftist wants to read
To all my (fellow) intersectional leftists,
I've recently gotten more into leftist media (tiktoks, video essays and books) and I need some book recommendations! I'm currently reading "The End of Policing" by Alex Vitale and it's really good. i like how organised and clear it is, with current systems, why they don't work, and solutions that are proven to work without harming the communities in question. I've realised I'm really interested in police and prison and methods of control in society so anything about that would be cool!
Other stuff I'd love:
The history of the LGBTQ+ community and marginalised genders
The history of ethnic minority/global majority groups
Stuff on disability/neurodivergence
Medical system and disability/POC/LGBTQ+ people/women
An introduction to concepts such as capitalism/communism/socalism/anarchy
The current education system (standardised testing n stuff)
Just anything that'd help me be more verse in how to help change the world mwhahaha
I've always loved reading and I read everyday, but I'm definitely a new leftist so please bear that in mind :))
Thanks for reading :]

News are trying to name the only FDA approved Idiopathic Hypersomnia medication (Xywav) as a date rape drug again....this is the second time this has happened since the medication was approved.
Last time there was no apology, no acknowledgement that it'll literally save lives of those suffering from IH, no touch to reality that it is in fact NOT a date rape drug and people can't just ask for it from a doctor in a whim - and I doubt this time around they'll do any better.
But here are the facts anyway:
1. Getting IH diagnosis is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and requires often months of testing after being dismissed for decades. It is especially hard to get diagnosis if you are POC, have disabilities, are AFAB, or suffer from any form of mental health issues (which unrecognized, untreated, and undiagnosed IH can and does cause).
2. PEOPLE CAN'T CHEAT IN THE TESTS. Overnight sleep test will measure if you slept enough so person can't pass MSLT (multiple sleep latency tests, ak.a NAP TEST) with right premiters by using sleep deprivation. You'll be drug tested in some point for sure if they believe you have substance issues (and if you do - you wont even get to sleep tests) so taking drugs not only shows in the data, it shows in the piss test. You'll likely need to also have a brain scan, crap ton of blood work, epilepsy tests, mental helth tests and MORE before even being cleared to the sleep tests that also check if you have apneas, restless legs, and you can't fake dreaming and falling asleep.
2.5 You also can't fake it because most people can't sleep while hooked up to thousand wires, their nose full of tube, chest tied tighter than a gift wrapping for HULK, head scratched to be full of extremely itchy and hurting tags, and while in a hospital room where you are FILMED SLEEPING. Passing 4-5 sleep tests like this, often needing to re-take the test due to stress these things causes, is hard for those who actually have IH so someone without has no hope passing.
3. Criminals don't generallt get medications - EXPENSIVE MEDICATIONS AT THAT - from doctors when they can get that shit cheaper from the streets. It would cost them thousands from pocket to be tested for all of this, just so they can theb fight doctors to get the medication, and then try to find a pharmacy that sells it foe you, just to literally pay a fluctuating sum that is in hundreds, even closer to 1grand per month without insurance.
4. Framing people with IH as rapists is inflammatory, evil, and sick - saying that people who seek IH diagnosis do it for medication is fucked up, and even more fucked up is claming people would do it to harm others!
5. That medication saves lives of those who have suffered often decades without any help; people who are hurting every day and are losing the fight against IH induced depression as IH is literally destroying their lives. It is not for date rapists, it is for us who need it - and framing it as "evil" makes it harder for us to get. In fact last time this kind of news broke, doctors refused to give the medication to people because they had read the yellow journalism surrounding it. They bought into the literal lies rather than treat people who were begging them to help. In result, people have offed themselves, feeling no hope in the system...RIP.
6. Only people who could access it through doctors are the uber rich. So tax them, put them to jail without bail and way out. Stop coddling the actors who are open about their use of substances. Focus on rape culture and dismantling it. Stop claming people who are disabled and sick are the issue when every problem and every solution is thousand steps up in the global hierachy.
7. It is not even the same compound. Anyone claming that street drug and pharmacy medication are the same are science illiterate morons. Those making this medication are trying to help us who have no help, no representation, no access - they are not trying to create an army of rapists on the streets.
And 8. Yellow Journalism is evil. It is lying. It is distorting the truth. It is creating waves of outrage for the sake of outrage. It is simoly trying to get rage reads out of people and cause them to simply draw conclusions based on their shitty conclusions.
It is beyond harmful for everyone to let it flourish as it makes people more media illiterate and creates sections of humanity who can't acces help because the illiterates will be on the way - they have the energy to do that, while we are suffering and unable to defend ourselves.
I know this was a long post, but if you can - take action against these news outlets spreading misinformation. Complain to them. Grow awareness. Help us with IH be heard. Write better, well-informed think pieces to drown out the bullshit.
I am so tired of this shit.

DON'T EVER GIVE UP ON ADVOCATING FOR YOURSELF!!!!
speaking from my experience, doctors, therapists, psychiatrists, etc can be real assholes sometimes but you have to keep pushing. i've had professionals tell me the 'oh you can't be/have x' or "the internet is bane of my existence" when i called out a psychiatrist for being ableist and saying everything on the internet is misinformation (guess the DSM-V is misinformation since it's on the internet jdjdjd). i know how hard and exhausting it can be but you will find someone/something to help you. it can feel like there's no light at the end of the tunnel, like your world is collapsing in on you and you are suffocating. it's so hard when you have a limited amount of spoons or even negative. go at you own pace, you have time, even if it seems like you don't. you've made it this far and are so strong for doing so. i know you can do it!
if it helps, you can also think about it that you continuing to advocate for yourself is in spite of the people who told you they wouldn't help you, who say 'suck it up' or 'it's not that bad' or 'someone else has it worse'. take the POWER from them and SPITE THEM!!
there's plenty of help out there and you will find it. there's also tons of really awesome and supportive communities out there with amazing people who can offer solutions and help, point you in the direction of great resources. and remember, you are not alone with your struggles and you are loved!! don't you ever forget that!!!
the medical world lags so far behind and there's a clear gap along with rampant ableism, sexism, and racism. the lack of knowledge ties in with the mistreatment and even misdiagnosis of people. POC and AFAB are more likely to be overlooked and misdiagnosed. it's important to know your stuff and keep advocating when things aren't working and you are still struggling. which ties into my next point:
if you put in the time to research and reexamine your experiences/life your self diagnosis is valid!
this is the first step to getting a diagnosis. people don't normally spend like 6 months (this is just a number, not a minimum) obsessively researching and thinking about your experiences/life, finding things relatable and feel like you are heard, taking various tests, looking at the DSM-V or other criteria for things.
you can't get treated for something like the flu if you don't know what the symptoms are and self diagnose first. then once you get to the doctor they can diagnose you and confirm if it's the flu or not and figure out the meds after the diagnosis
self diagnosis is also different from people claiming they have a disability or mental illness for clout.
yes, it's an issue that needs to be addressed, but it's very few people in the grand scheme of things. they make it harder for people to advocate for themselves and to seek help. you cannot get treatment/accommodations if you don't have a diagnosis in the first place. there is nothing to gain other than getting the help that you so deserve. and again, in my experience there's a lot of pushback to getting that much needed help. so anyone who disagrees, understand that you are putting someone down who could be in a very vulnerable spot and really needs help and or encouragement. you are only invalidating them and hurting them. if it turns out they are wrong, they have learned more about themself and can further help improve their life and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. knowledge is power, don't be the one to deny someone that.
i am speaking from my experiences as a neurodivergent. i cannot speak for any other types of disabilities, that in mind i feel like the things i said can still apply to anyone even if some of the language i use is more geared towards neurodivergents
also if anyone needs any resources for ADHD or ASD please do not hesitate to reach out to me! even though i only have a few, they helped me a lot and i am always happy to share!
#meds/food/water check! if you haven't gotten these things go do it now!!#you are all loved and YOU DO MATTER you heckin amazing beans! <3
