My favorite way to break up Baljinger is for them to never actually have dated in the first place. They’re never outright stated to be a romantic couple in AYA, we’re just meant to assume that based on context clues.

Oh those P&F DA days were crazy times. Crazy times. I swear I saw Millie shipped with Balthazar (that boy who said ‘Hey, haven’t I seen you somewhere before?’ in I was a Middle Aged Robot), Holly with Django and Buford with Adyson. This would be some Mandela effect.

Either way, some weren’t the worst. Some seemed cute, but at the same time, something about the way all these ships came about, by this one guy initially, I’ll have to check on the guy’s username, it felt quite mandated. Like each child had to be shipped with someone. Never liked that trope in the shipping circle.

And wouldn’t you know it, crazily enough, this spiralled into Baljinger becoming canon.

"I just don't understand how we ended up together if the answer was CLEARLY there all along. How could we, two of the smartest people in our friend group, be so oblivious?" Ginger hummed, it had been something she'd also thought over for quite some time now. "Part of me wonders if maybe Isabella being so sure about Phineas could have had some sort of impact on that... Going to see you guys every day... It made me feel like I should have a certain sensation in my gut, too. But I never did. I just forced myself. It's not like we didn't pair well, we are good friends after all." Baljeet only nodded to her, as if still stuck on this invisible equation. She thought for just a moment until nodding, thinking of something that might comfort him. "You spoke of Space Adventure so much and all those dorky characters, you're telling me you didn't have a crush on a single one of them growing up? No awakening there?" His eyes grew wide and cheeks flushed. She had hit the nail on the head. He may have not known it at the time, but he's always had feelings for men and Ginger would be there for him every step of the way as he continued to figure things out.
