Happily sharing with you some pictures from today's shoot with my 70 x 90 cm oil on canvas painting featuring Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen and Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. This Celebrate Diversity series painting (70 x 90 cm oil on canvas) from the GLAC Studio, Sønderborg, Denmark, made by Artist Gomathi Siva Sankaran shows the 400-year strong relationship between the two countries Denmark and India. The Fort Dansborg was built in Tharangambadi, Tamil Nadu, India in 1622, with the support from the King of Tanjore Raghunatha Nayak who had provided the land to the King of Denmark Christian IV for a rent of Rs.3,111 per year. Rigsadmiral Ove Gjedde had been instrumental in building this initial relationship. And now the two countries have entered into a Green Strategic partnership with an ambitious vision to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% by the year 2030.
