officially moved and, while my hands are incredibly sore and i pulled a back muscle so getting around or even sitting long-term is hell, i've noticed i'm not coughing tons anymore...
not sure what that's about, kinda worried about everyone back in the old place...
#maybe it's just temperature though. and it could be!!#since my basement bedroom was getting into the uh. 40-50 degree range in the middle of summer. and that's no longer an issue.#stirring up trouble#granted the new place has its share of issues but a lot of them can be--or are getting--fixed#it is over 1k more per month though and i'm sweating that pretty hard....though i feel like i might be better able to get work now?#since i'm not constantly sick and lethargic nor are there untimely interruptions from the kiddo...plus people are hiring for holidays soon#idk i'm just definitely more optimistic now somehow. maybe that'll change once we get our first full-month electric bill 💀#well regardless i'm gonna be working hard on fixing stuff and unpacking and sorting for the next couple weeks while job-hunting#wish me luck!!

Had to explain to my parents today that even if they gave me the entire down payment for a house, I still wouldn’t be able to afford the monthly payments.
#sigh#now let’s be clear they absolutely couldn’t do that#but it was the example I provided to really drive home the point#sure the mortgage might be $1200 but that’s before taxes/insurance/water/sewer/trash#plus increased electricity including increased heating/cooling#only my internet bill would stay the same#so you’re looking closer to $2000 or more#like trust me I’ve crunched the gd numbers

a long time ago I ran the numbers and figured my entire family could live for 70 years with no want or need left uncovered + thousands of pesos to spend freely per month with only 1M dlls
today i saw a video of a random guy looking to buy a private jet to travel more comfortable with his models and business partners, saying he was willing to spend up to 70 million euros, so i decided to run the numbers again
even adjusted to the depreciation of the dollars (from 22 mxn to 17 mxn) and the soaring prices of living, plus a hefty 6k+ mxn per month (more than what anyone makes in this house), it'd still cover 6 entire decades of living expenses. 60 whole years.

We managed to get together rent just barely and I've been trying to get as many shifts at work as possible but we are still seriously struggling and our utilities are gonna be coming up soon.
In addition to the fact that we also need to begin making preparations for when my man needs to have his hernia surgery and won't be able to work. We would put this off if we could but his hernia is severe and is pressing on his lungs and the Dr said it needs to be removed asap.

My family has been struggling with being financially behind for a while now due to my man's cancer and a lot of other factors and right now we desperately need help to not become homeless.
We're about $150 short on rent and then even if we manage to get that together, we also have literally no money for food or anything until next week when I next get paid.
And to make matters worse, my man has a consultation coming up for surgery on the hernia on his stomach which means we're gonna be losing more work and we've not had a single chance to be able to put money back to get through that.

Good news is we knocked 639 kWh off our electricity consumption. Which means almost a hundred dollars less than last bimester's bill. Bad news is that it still means we owe over 220 dlls LMAO
#and some people's bills are gonna be a good x2 even x3 as much bc our biggest chunk of consumption comes from#our AC#otherwise we just charge the phones keep the fridge n lights on + the water thing and the occasional laundry load#but like not even the microwave stays plugged if not in use lol only the AC n fridge#i dont want to imagine how much ppl with more units or like PCs and other stuff are gonna get charged..#cfe is fucking everyone over dear god#((I'm not asking for money im just complaining lol))#like last bimester i saw ppls bills go over 12k pesos..#thats like 600 dlls..#bc every kWh over 3500 i think goes for 17 dollar cents/3 pesos#n the 3000-3500 each is like 0.11 dlls/2 pesos..#so imagine ppl with like 2-3 bedrooms that's like at least ¾ton each plus living-dinning-kitchen space that's gotta take a ton n a half#with the heat here u gotta have that thing in cold (if you're home) between at least 10am-8pm even in october#to keep it at least around 70F/21C#the rest of the day u could turn it off or just fan but ur gonna bake lol if you let it do its thing at night in auto its still gonna be on#for a few hours lol#it's impossible to live w it off and we're the state w the most expensive electricity nation-wide#if only we had the means to to finance solar#but idk i dont like how the plan here is you give it all to them and it reduces ur bill#like a dude proved last bill that they're artificially inflated i doubt they would be transparent about it in case of solar lol
