Trouble
Joe Burrow x Reader
Your friends and family aren’t fond of Joe
“Seriously, he’s trouble. I can’t believe you’re going out with him.” Your friend scoffed, turning off the end of the Bengals game.
“He’s not trouble!” You defend him. “Really, he’s a nice guy!”
“Oh really? Is that why you’ve refused to tell your parents you’re dating him?”
“They’re just not big Bengal fans. It has nothing to do with Joe.” You lied as your friend rolled her eyes.
You had been secretly dating Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback for 7 months now. It’s true, most people weren’t fond of Joe. He comes across as cocky, rude, and privileged. Plus his current bad boy edit doesn’t help much. Joe had recently gotten himself into trouble. He’s found a love for partying, blowing his money, and being reckless. All causing excess fame and a negative spotlight, something you wanted to avoid.
“Are you sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he got suspended from games for legal trouble? Or has shown up to practice violently hungover?”
“How’d you hear about that?” You questioned.
She laughed, “It’s all over the news. He’s gonna get himself into some real trouble and not have a career here soon.”
“He’s working on turning things around. Really. I swear.” You do your best to defend him again. You seem to be doing that a lot lately. “Plus we’ve only been seeing each other for a few months. I’m just having fun.”
“I know, and I’m happy for you. I just don’t want to see you get hurt.” She reaches out and takes your hand. “But I know none of that is going to change your mind, so go have fun tonight.”
“I love you. If my mom asks, I’m here!” You remind her and head out the door, “Your pizza should be here soon and I logged into my Netflix account!” You figured if your friend has to spend the night posted up in her room to cover for you, you might as well take care of her.
You hopped into your car and headed over to Joes house, he was throwing a party after the game. Joe’s parties were always fun, usually a little wild, and typically ended with the police kicking people out and shutting things down. As much as Joe was trying to work past his bad boy edit, he couldn’t help it. He’s young and having fun.
The loud music from Joe’s house is rattling your car as you pull into his driveway. He’s outside on the porch with some teammates smoking a cigar.
As you walk through his thick cloud of smoke and clear the air in front of your face with your hand, Joe pulls you into a hug.
“There’s my baby.” His words slurred, you’re unsure if it’s from alcohol or the thick cigar pressed between his lips.
“Hi, Joey.” You wrap your arms around his waste and snuggle into his chest. “Good game, congrats on the win.”
He pulls the cigar from his mouth, “I want you to come to the next one.” He smiles.
“Me? At the game? Isn’t it in a different state?” You question, suddenly nervous. You and Joe had been casually dating, nothing was public yet.
“The next home game.” He laughs, blowing a thick cloud of smoke over your head. “2 weeks.”
“I’ll think about it.” You try and reassure him.
“Think about it?” He asks offended.
“Well, yeah..I don’t… I’m not sure…” you feel his arms drop from around you. “I’m not sure I’m ready to go public yet.” You nervously tell him.
“It’s a football game. Not a red carpet.” He says annoyed.
“I know but…”
He cuts you off “It’s fine. Don’t come.”
“Joe I want to!” You reassure him.
“Seems like it.” He scoffs before heading inside, you following close behind.
“Joe I do! Really, there’s nothing I’d love more! I just still haven’t told many people about us, and you know, you haven’t had the best press lately and I don’t want to mess that up anymore for you and I just worry that-“
He presses the cigar to your mouth “take this.” He laughs cutting you off. “I’m sorry about the press. I’m working on it. Tomorrow I have a fun event at the elementary school. Next week, the high school. And the whole team is volunteering at the blood drive. Nothing but positive press up until the game.”
“Wow, what’s next? Taking a shift at the old folks home? Serving in the soup kitchen?” You tease.
He rolls his eyes, “So are you coming to the game or not?”
“I guess you better find me a Burrow jersey, because I’ll be there.” You smile.
The rest of the night is a blur. Lots of drinks, lots of dancing, too many sweaty bodies, and even louder music. You wake up the next morning tangled up in bed with Joe. His heavy arm around your waste and soft breathing on the backside of your neck. You slowly loosen his grip and start to make your way out of bed.
“Where do you think you’re going?” He grumbles, barely audible.
“Home.” You slip your shoes on. “And you need to get up too. Your elementary school meet and greet starts in 45 minutes.” You sit down on the side of the bed again. “I don’t think the elementary school principal appreciates his guest of honor showing up smelling like a mini bar.”
“You’re probably right.” He slowly starts to sit up. “I’ll reserve some spots for you for the game.” He says. “Any request on where you want to sit?”
All the nerves come back. “Doesn’t matter.” You smile at him, wishing you could avoid the game all together. It’s not that you were ashamed to be with him, you were just anxious about what people, especially your parents will say. “I’m gonna get out of here.” You quickly excuse yourself, not sure if the sudden butterflies in your stomach are from drinking too much, or the next home game.
You call your best friend on your way and tell her all about the game.
“You’re gonna have to tell your parents.”
“I can’t! They will freak if they find out I’ve been dating him!”
“So are you going to keep your relationship a secret forever?”
“I don’t know I haven’t thought that far ahead.”
“Well scratch that thought, it’s not a secret anymore.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Check your phone.”
As you pull in your parents drive way, you pull out your phone to see a news article your friend sent you, a picture of you and Joe is on the front page. “Where did you find this?” You panicked.
I was just checking E! News. It looks like every major magazine is covering it now!”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” You sigh, “I have to tell them now. I’ve got to go, but I’ll call you later. I’ll probably need some support.”
“Good luck!” She says and ends the call.
“You’re WHAT?” You dad hollers, slamming down the news paper he was reading.
“Dad, he’s a nice guy. Really I -“
“No. The little romance you guys having going on is over. I can’t believe this. You’re such a good girl, why would you want to be with someone like him?”
“He’s nothing like what the press makes him out to be. He’s actually really kind, and supportive, and is volunteering a lot for the community.”
“I don’t care if he’s the president. You are not being seen with someone like him.”
“About that..”
“What?”
“Well the news got pictures of me at his house last night and leaked a story.” You hide your face in your hands.
“At his house?” Your mom questions. “So you’ve been lying to us? Clearly he’s a bad influence to be hanging around.”
“I lied because I knew you would react like this. You’re not even giving him a chance.”
“I’ve never seen you defend someone like this. What is going on?”
“I’m…”
Your dad crosses his arms across his chest “I’m in love with him. And I’m going to be with him and support him no matter how you feel. You don’t know him like I do.”
“I’ve never seen you fight for someone like this.”
“Because, I love him.”
Your dad sighs, “I don’t know if I like the sound of that. But I’m willing to give him a chance. Why don’t you invite him over.”
“Really?!”
“Like I said,” he pauses, “I’m not crazy about him, but I can tell that you, and for that reason, I want to get to know him.”
A few hours later, Joe shows up on your front porch and confidently knocks on the front door.
“Hi Joey.” You greet him with a smile and hug. “You look great… did you iron your shirt?” You tease him, brushing a hand across his perfectly pressed shirt.
“Steamed it actually.” He smiles, “I wanted to make a good impression.” He nervously takes your hand and follows you into the house.
“Mom, Dad, this is Joe.” You awkwardly present him to your parents.
He politely shakes their hands and takes a seat at the table next to you.
You feel his hand find its way to your thigh, his palms are sweaty, and his fingers are nervously tapping across your leg. You reassuringly take his hand into yours and lightly rub across the top and share a confident smile.
At the end of dinner, you and Joe excuse yourselves and you walk him to the porch.
“They loved you.” You kiss him.
“I’m so relieved.”
“My dad even wants to go to the game with me!”
He laughs, “I’ll get extra tickets.”
Relieved that your parents were pleased with Joe, you walked him out, he kissed you goodnight, and you sent him on his way home.
It’s official and the world knows, you’re in love with Joe Burrow.

Just Right
Natasha Romanoff x Female Reader
You and Natasha have your first date. In an unexpected turn, she ends up bonding with your young daughter
Note: This is soft soft soft Nat. I’ve had this idea for a while. Enjoy it!
Natasha Romanoff Masterlist 1, Natasha Romanoff Masterlist 2, Main Masterlist
When you first met Natasha, you had no idea that she would ever fall for you. It didn’t make sense. She is a world class assassin turned superhero and you’re a business woman.
But you immediately felt drawn to each other from the moment you locked eyes. There was an issue with Nat’s paycheck, and you were the woman to see about it.
The redhead waltzed into your office and left with her problem resolved and a new crush. Natasha then kept making excuses to see you.
Most of the time there was no issue at all, but she’d still come to your office. She wanted to see you. And you weren’t going to complain.
Finally, Natasha asked you out. It was the easiest yes of your life. But now standing at your closet, having no idea what to wear, you wonder if it was the right decision.
Natasha will be here in 15 minutes and you’re still in your bathrobe. Your saving grace comes in the form of your young daughter. The one you haven’t told Natasha about.
“You should wear this, Mom,” the little girl says. She points to a black dress that does frame your body well.
“You think so, sweetie?” You ask.
“Yes. You look so pretty in it!” She remarks.
You kiss her cheeks as a way to say thank you and take the dress out of your closet. Slipping it on, you glance in the mirror. It feels good.
The next fifteen minutes fly by and there’s a knock at your door. You walk through the foyer to open the door.
When you do, Natasha is standing on the other side. She wears a black tshirt and jeans with her signature leather jacket. A comfortable but attractive look on her.
“Hey y/n,” Natasha says. Her eyes rake over your body. “You’re so beautiful.”
“Thank you,” you reply, a heat in your cheeks and neck. “So are you. I just need a moment if you want to come in.”
Natasha nods and enters your home. She loves the way it feels so cozy even just two steps inside. She’s waiting by the door when your daughter approaches her.
“Oh, hi there,” Natasha says, her brow raising in question. “What’s your name?”
“Hi, I’m Taylor,” the girls answers. “Are you here to see my mommy?”
“Yes I am. I’m Natasha.”
Nat holds out her hand for the girl to shake and she does so surprisingly well for a seven year old.
“I like your flowers,” Taylor says, pointing to the roses in Natasha’s hand.
She was going to give them to you when she walked in, but you disappeared too quickly.
“Here,” Nat says while handing Taylor the bouquet. “For you.”
“All of them?” Taylor gasps.
“Mhm,” Nat assures her.
“Wow! Thank you!” Taylor cheers. She takes off running towards your room where you meet her at the doorway. “Mommy look! Tasha gave me these!”
“Tasha did, hm?” You ask, glancing to Nat. She only shrugs and smiles at the nickname from the girl. “Did you say thank you?”
“I did,” Taylor says.
“Good job, baby,” you tell her. She preens at the compliment. “Be good tonight, okay?”
“Yes ma’am I will,” she replies.
The sitter arrives at the house right on time and Taylor pulls her inside quickly to show her the new toys she just got. Natasha leads you out to her car.
“So, you have a daughter,” she says.
“I do. Is that a deal breaker?” You ask.
“Absolutely not. She’s cute,” Natasha says. “Plus, I kind of gathered from the photos of the little girl in your office.”
“You knew?”
“I know most things,” Natasha says, grinning from the driver’s seat.
You shake your head and get lost in the feeling of being on a date again. She parks the car outside of the restaurant.
“I hope you came hungry,” she says. “This is one of my favorite places.”
“I’ve never heard of it,” you say. “But I’m excited to try it.”
You walk into the restaurant with Natasha. Her hand hovers over your back as she leads you inside and to a table. There’s a card that says reserved. You look to Natasha.
“I told them I was bringing a date,” she chuckles. “I guess they took it seriously.”
You smile and slide into one side of the booth while Nat sits in the other. She takes off her jacket to reveal her muscular arms. The black t-shirt hugs her biceps perfectly. You watch as she intently reads the menu and you try to think of something to say. But the silence doesn’t feel uncomfortable.
“What do you recommend, Natasha?” You ask her.
Her eyes look up from the menu to meet yours. She tells you about all the different foods she likes here. You find it all a bit funny that a superhero knows so much about a local restaurant’s burgers, but it makes you fall harder for Natasha.
The conversation flows easily from there. You tell her about your life and she tells you about hers. You’re sure she leaves out some of the less than happy details.
It’s about an hour into the date when your phone rings. It’s the sitter.
“I’m sorry. I need to answer this,” you excuse yourself as you walk outside while answering the phone.
While you’re gone, the waiter asks Natasha if it’s going well. She smiles and gives him a thumbs up.
You come back inside with a frown on your face. Nat stands up in reaction.
“What’s wrong?” She asks.
“The sitter has to leave, so I have to leave. I’m so sorry, Natasha.”
“Hey, that’s okay,” she says. She places a comforting hand on your arm before turning to the waiter. “Put this on my tab?”
“Can do! Have a good one!” They say.
“Thank you. Let’s go,” Nat says. She grabs her jacket and leads you back to her car.
When she gets in the driver’s seat, she holds the jacket in her lap kind of awkwardly as she drives.
“Do you want me to hold it?” You ask her.
“Oh, that’s okay. I was going to put in the back but then I just didn’t for the sake of time,” she says, with a cute look on her face.
“I’ll hold it,” you say this time. Not a question. She lets you take it from her lap while she continues to drive.
You hold it against your lap. And it’s oddly warm. A lot like just being around Natasha feels like.
She pulls into your driveway and comes to open your door for you. You notice she doesn’t ever miss a chance to do that. You don’t have time to linger at your door, so you turn the key and relieve the baby sitter.
She says her apologies before she leaves and tells you that Taylor is asleep in her bed. That won’t last, you think.
During all of this, Natasha stands just inside the door.
“Come further in, Natasha,” you say, gesturing towards the living room.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course. I- um- I was having a good time, so maybe we could keep this date going?” You ask, taking a chance.
“I’d love that,” Natasha replies. You breathe a sigh of relief.
Natasha makes herself comfortable on the couch where she’s noted you set her jacket down while you go to the kitchen. You emerge a few minutes later.
“Well, it seems I have no wine, but I do have juice boxes,” you say. You hold them up and grin.
“I can’t say I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking from a juice box,” Natasha says.
“Really? Oh Natasha, this is about to change your life,” you say dramatically.
You sit next to her and show her how to put the straw in the box. She does successfully and tastes the sweet, way too sugary drink for the first time.
“So, what do you think?” You ask.
“I like it,” she says. “It’s weirdly fun to drink out of the straw.”
You’re about to reply when you hear the sound of little feet.
“Taylor, baby?” You call into the hallway.
“Mommy?” She asks confusedly in her sleepy haze.
You open your arms and she walks to your embrace easily, planting herself on your lap. She buries her face in your chest.
“Did we wake you up?” You ask her. She shakes her head against you.
Natasha graciously takes the juice box from you so that you can hold Taylor with both hands.
“Okay. Let’s go back to bed,” you say, standing up with her in your arms.
“Wait,” Taylor mumbles. She reaches an arm out towards the couch. “With Tasha.”
“Baby, it’s Ms. Natasha or Ms. Tasha at the least,” you correct her manners. You let it slide earlier, but you want Natasha to stick around.
“Tasha is just fine,” Natasha joins in the conversation.
“Okay,” you agree. “Come on ladies.”
Natasha follows as you take Taylor back to her bedroom. The room is covered in fun, pink decorations. It makes Nat smile to see a little girl able to be so safe and happy.
“Goodnight sweetheart,” you say, kissing Taylor on the head.
“Goodnight mommy,” she says. “Tasha, can I talk to you?”
“Oh,” you remark. “Is that okay?”
“Of course,” Nat says. “If it’s okay with you?”
You nod and step back to the doorway. It’s far enough to give her space with the girl, but close enough to hear what they say.
“Are you going to come here a lot?” Taylor asks.
“Oh, I’m not sure. I would like to I think,” Natasha replies. She sits on the bed next to Taylor. “What do you think about that?”
“Will you bring me more flowers?” A hopeful smile rests on her face.
“Yes, I will. What’s your favorite flower?”
“I don’t know,” she says.
“That’s okay,” Nat assures her. “Is pink your favorite color?”
“Yes ma’am,” Taylor replies. “How did you know?”
“It was a wild guess,” Natasha jokes. It goes over the little girl’s head but you appreciate her awareness of her surroundings. “I just might bring you pink flowers next time I see you, okay?”
“Pink flowers! Yay!” Taylor cheers. Her eyes droop closed as she fights sleep.
“Goodnight, malyshka. It was nice to meet you,” Natasha says.
“Night Tasha,” she mumbles.
Nat stands up from the bed and you take her hand as you walk back to the living room.
“Was that okay? I don’t want to overstep but I definitely want to see you again and-“
You cut her off by hugging her tight. Your arms are around her neck and she places hers around your waist.
“Thank you,” you say. She holds you for as long as you need. And it’s definitely a long time. “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be,” she says. “Thank you for tonight. I had a really great time.”
“Even with the interruption?”
“Especially with the interruption. Who else is going to ask me to bring them flowers all the time?” Natasha jokes. “She’s great.”
“She’s the best,” you say, a laugh falling from your lips.
“I should probably go,” Natasha wonders aloud.
“Yeah,” you agree. “But before you do maybe you can finish your juice box?”
You’re reaching for ways to spend more time with her, but she doesn’t complain. She sits next to you on the couch again and drinks some more of her juice.
“You know I bet the guys would want to see proof of my first juice box drink,” Natasha says. “Would you want to take a picture?”
“Absolutely,” you agree.
You get your phone out and point it at her, but she takes it from your hands.
“I meant of us,” Natasha says. You were hoping that was the case.
You hold up the juice box and smile while Natasha does the same. You immediately text it to her. Admittedly, it’s a cute photo. You see her save it as your contact photo in her phone.
“It’s late,” you note.
“It is,” Natasha says. She stands from the couch as you stand with her. There’s a silence as she steps closer to you. “Can I kiss you?”
“Yes please,” you say.
Natasha’s smile reaches up to her eyes as she takes your face in her hands and kisses your lips. It’s a soft, slow kiss. And it’s absolutely perfect.
“I’ll call you?” She asks.
“And text me too,” you reply.
She nods and you walk her to the door. She kisses your lips once more before she steps out onto the porch.
“Hey, you forgot your jacket,” you call after her.
“Keep it,” Nat says. “I’ll get it next time.”
You grin and watch as she gets in her car and drives off.
From that day on, Natasha never forgets to bring Taylor pink flowers. Even when she runs out of types she can get, she has Tony make her new variants.
And everything with Natasha is just right.

Joey B Blurbs: With A Little Help From My Friends
————————————————————————-
Summary: You and a few other WAGs do a prank on your boys by buying them all matching shirts for a get-together without them knowing.
Warnings: Fluff, unserious/funny, pranks
Pairing: Joe Burrow x reader
Imagine Universe: Into The Mystic
————————————————————————-
January 20, 2024 - *36 weeks pregnant*
“Joe, I have your outfit laid out on the island in the closet.” - you
Joe’s head snapped away from the TV and over in my direction. I'd just walked into the kitchen from getting ready upstairs. Joe sat on the couch watching The Office reruns, all cuddled up with Tyson and Miles - looking adorable.
“What? I can pick my outfit out.” - Joe
“I know, but I ordered you a new shirt that I'd like you to wear.” - you
“Oh, okay. What is it?” - Joe
“A flannel.” - you
“Mmm, okay.” - Joe
A few moments later, I sat down on the couch with my boys, but Joe left just a minute later to get ready himself.
Robin and Jimmy were coming in a bit to watch the twins while Joe and I went over to Sam’s for a get-together with some of his teammates.
The guys had no idea, though, that the WAG’s group chat had been super active the past week leading up to tonight.
A prank was to ensue, and it was that we'd all secretly ordered the same shirt for our men. We'd all show up one by one, and the guy’s reactions to matching would be hilarious.
Plus, Joe would look hot as hell in a flannel.
Half an Office episode later, Joe came bounding down the stairs. The greyish flannel looked amazing on him, giving off major dad vibes, paired with regular-fitting blue jeans that had been sitting untouched in the closet since I'd ordered them.
I let out a teasing whistle, Joe blushing at the cat-call.
“You like?” - Joe
“Yes. You look amazing, Joey. Do a little spin for me?” - you
Joe happily obliged before searching for approval in my facial expression.
“Love it. I need to start sneaking more of this style into your side of the closet.” - you
“Is that style ‘I have two kids and another on the way’?” - Joe
“Bingo. I told you, you're a DILF.” - you
“You love to remind me of that.” - Joe
“Because it's true.” - you grinned
——
There was a ring of the doorbell, and I went to stand up from the couch, but Joe ushered me to sit back down.
“Hey Mom, hey Dad. Thanks for watching the boys.” - Joe
“Oh, of course!” - Robin
Robin and Jimmy had barely made it into the house before they were ambushed by Tyson and Miles.
They happily hugged their grandbabies, and Jimmy picked up Miles in his arms.
“Where's your wife, Joseph Lee?” - Robin
“On the couch, she went to open the door, but I waved her off.” - Joe
Robin gave her son a proud nod, grateful that he was treating his pregnant wife as he should.
The five of them eventually walked back into the living room, and Joe plopped back onto the couch next to me, putting his arm around me on the back of the couch.
“You look great, y/n!” - Robin
“Aww, thank you. I'm feeling great as well. Baby girl is treating my bladder a lot better than the twins did.” - you laughed
“That's good! I love your dress, makes your bump pop.” - Robin grinned
“Joe actually picked it out.” - you
I put a hand on Joe’s chest and smiled up at him, a glint in his eye when he returned the soft grin.
“Wow, I would’ve never expected that.” - Robin
Laughing, I understood where she was coming from. My dress was a solid black, nothing like anything in Joe’s side of the closet.
“I picked his outfit out, though.” - you smiled
“That was my next question! That style looks good on you, Joey. You look very adult.” - Robin
“Thank you? I think.” - Joe
“It was meant to be a compliment. I think so, at least…” - Jimmy
A few seconds of laughter went by before Joe patted my thigh and spoke up.
“Ready to go, babe?” - Joe
“Sure!” - you
Joe stood up before turning around to me and putting a hand out to help me up.
Once I was on my feet, Joe let go of one of my hands but still held the other.
“We’ll be back later!” - Joe
He led me over to the garage door of the house and grabbed his keys to the Porsche off of the hook.
Sweetly, Joe walked me over to the passenger side of the car and opened my door for me, along with helping me sit down before shutting the door back.
“Whatcha wanna listen to?” - Joe
Joe always joked about my passenger princess ways, but here he was, offering me to pick the music before I even asked.
In the end, I pulled up my Spotify playlist “’60s-’70s Love Songs” and shuffled it.
Looking over at Joe as he backed out of the driveway, I giggled as he playfully rolled his eyes with a smile on his face at my music selection.
For dramatic effect, I grabbed onto Joe’s shoulder and sang Be My Baby by The Ronettes into my hand like I was holding a microphone.
“You're crazy.” - Joe laughed
“But you love me.” - you
“That I do, my baby.” - Joe
——
I had my arm looped with Joe’s as we stood on Sam’s front porch. Joe had just rung the doorbell and now we're waiting for an answer.
Squeezing his bicep lightly, Joe’s eyes darted to me.
“You okay, Mama?” - Joe
“Mhm. Just love you in this shirt.” - you grinned
Just a few seconds later, the front door swung open, revealing Sam.
“Hey, Burrow’s! Woah- what the hell? Joe, are we matching?” - Sam
I giggled to myself as Joe and Sam looked down at their flannels and then at each other.
“That's weird man, but I def wore it better.” - Joe
Sam rolled his eyes before stepping to the side to let Joe and me inside the house.
I immediately greeted Jess, who complimented my pregnancy glow, and while we were deep into conversation, the doorbell rang again.
When Sam opened the door, Jess and I exchanged knowing looks at each other.
On the front porch, Cody Ford and Evan McPherson were laughing about the fact they had matching shirts on while Tianna and Gracie stood to the side laughing.
“What the hell!” - Sam
“You guys have it too?!” - Evan
Joe was full-on cackling, and I couldn't help but mirror my husband.
The girls walked over and sat next to me and Jess, our boys all pointing at each other’s shirts while laughing.
Thirty minutes later, over ten more guys had shown up, all in the same flannel, and Joe and his guys found it hilarious each time.
The girls and I all sat in a corner of the living room, recording and laughing at the reactions coming out of the guys.
They really were adult toddlers, but that's what makes being married to one fun.
After dinner, Joe found me by myself in the kitchen and wrapped his arms around me from behind. At first, I couldn't tell who it was because all the guys here had the same long-sleeved shirt on, and all I could see were the person's arms.
The thought didn't last too long when I saw the wedding ring on the person’s finger that was too unique to be anyone other than Joe.
“Hi, Mama.” - Joe
“Hi, Joey.” - you
“Can I ask you a question?” - Joe
“Of course.” - you
With Joe’s hands on my bump, I covered them with my own and let my head fall back onto his chest/shoulder.
“Who wore the shirt best?” - Joe
“I'm kinda biased, but you, for sure.” - you
“Yeah?” - Joe
“Mhm, I'm gonna start sneaking more flannels into your closet.” - you
“I'll wear ‘em if they get a good reaction out of you.” - Joe
“Oh, you know they will.” - you giggled
I turned around in Joe’s arms and looked into his gorgeous blue eyes, my hands on his chest.
Slowly, Joe leaned in and pressed his lips onto mine.
A minute later, we were still kissing. The craving for each other was never satisfied, but we were interrupted by a loud, fake, gagging sound.
“For the love of god, she's already pregnant! You guys are disgusting!” - Ja’Marr
I leaned my head onto Joe’s chest with a giggle as he glared at one of his best friends.
“Ja’Marr, get the fuck away!” - Joe
Ja’Marr threw his arms up in surrender before walking out of the kitchen. Joe turned back to me with a sly grin on his face.
“Sorry, Mrs. Burrow. Where were we?” - Joe
I’d never get tired of him calling me that.
“Mmm, I think we might've been kissing.” - you
“Let's test that theory.” - Joe
Just as Joe was leaning in, our lips brushed together, but something made him pull back.
“Y'all nasty!” - Ja’Marry whisper yelled
“Ja’Marr!!” - Joe yelled
Sure, they got annoying sometimes, but deep down, Joe knew he wouldn't get by without a little help from his friends. Even if said help was unwanted.

Physio’s Daughter pt.5
Jessie Fleming x Reader

WC: 4.0k
A/N: hi :) enjoy (if you’re reading this the same day it was posted and want to help make a decision on the future of this story go vote on the poll on my feed)
The players ended up with way more downtime than the staff during the week before you all left for Paris they were really only responsible for keeping their bodies ready to play and showing up to get on the plane. You and the rest of the staff had meetings, more paperwork, you all had to pack your equipment away, it took more hours of your time than you had expected.
This meant you had to turn down Jessie on three different occasions when she asked you to coffee.
The first time Jessie shook off the rejection. Not thinking much about it, you were obviously busy with work and didn’t have the time that day.
“I’m wrapping up here. Want to grab a coffee this afternoon?” She stuck her head into your office.
“I would Jessie but I’m not out of here until 5 tonight. Plus should we be grabbing coffee?” You give her a questioning look. You had agreed to friends now, friends grabbed coffee but it felt like a gateway to something more with her.
“Oh, okay, sorry I didn’t realize you had to work so late.”
She shook you off, walking back over to her locker to grab her stuff and leave for the day, having to stop alone for coffee.
She didn’t stop asking, one thing about that girl, she loved to stop by your office and she also loved to get coffee.
“Coffee? Do you have a lunch break at some point?” Jessie’s head once again swung around your office door early in the morning when players were released for a couple hours break before having to return in the evening for film.
You sigh throwing your hands up, gesturing to the pile of papers in front of you “I’m supposed to get a lunch but I think I have more travel paperwork to do during that time, I don’t know Kelly from the administration called and-”
“Don’t worry about it.” You notice the tight lipped half smile she gives you. You so badly wanted to say fuck it to the paperwork and go get coffee with Jessie, you’d get coffee with that woman every second of every day if you could. But you had work. You were at work and she was your coworker.
Insistent on getting you to say yes, Jessie offers another plan. “What about tomorrow morning since it’s a later start? Before we come in?”
“Tomorrow I have to be here at normal times, it’s just you guys who get to come in late.” You give her a frown.
“Look if you don’t want to come to coffee with me, that’s okay, just say that though.” Her voice is quiet but she looks frustrated with you. Her eyebrows furrowed, upset lines on her forehead.
“No! Jessie, I do! I do want to get coffee with you, just, this isn’t a great week. I’ve still got a ton of work to get done before we leave. As the newbie on the staff I get all the simple but time consuming work no one else wants. Unfortunately the next few weeks will be just as crazy for both of us.”
“Okay.” She turns to leave “I’m sorry for bothering you.” Before you can really stop her to explain that she’s not a bother and honestly the short chats you get with her are the highlight of your day, she exits the door. And you're left alone in your office, a massive pile of paperwork to still get done.
With only two days left before you had to fly to Paris you were trying to get most of your work done today. You didn’t want to have to deal with work and the stress of packing tomorrow. You curse yourself for not packing sooner. You end up in the office until it’s dark outside checking your watch and seeing it was 7:30 at night. Your mom had left the office two hours ago, giving you a kiss on the head and telling you not to stay up too late.
You focus in, getting tunnel vision on the paperwork, racing through the stack of papers, until your phone goes off.
Jessie Fleming: what time do you have to be in tomorrow?
A text from Jessie has your phone vibrating in your lap. You pick it up and respond, wondering why she would need to know.
You: 5:30
You: Do you need treatment? Is your calf alright?
Jessie Fleming: So the facility will be open at 5:30? Calf is fine but I’m trying to get in some extra recovery and stretching, feeling a bit tight after today's work.
You: Yeah it should be, for all I know I might still be here when you show up.
Jessie Fleming: You’re still there?
You: I am
You: sent an image
You send Jessie a selfie of you, smiling in your desk chair, a significantly smaller stack of papers than she saw you with earlier in the day.
Jessie Fleming: sent an image
The image is her, in what you assumed was her Canadian apartment bed, a soft smile on her face, her head resting on a pillow with light gray cover on it. What also stands out to you is the way her sheet is pulled up, just under her collarbones. You can see her collarbones, she wasn’t wearing a shirt.
You: Why are you in bed this early?
You: Do you sleep shirtless?
You regret hitting send on the second message when you actually see that she’s typing.
Jessie Fleming: That’s professional to ask
Jessie Fleming: But yes
Jessie Fleming: Most of the time
Jessie Fleming: Obviously not when I have travel roommates or anything, but I’m in my own place for the next few days so I’m enjoying it before a lot of hotels with Janine.
Jessie Fleming: And I’m in bed because I’m watching a documentary and I’ve been told to get as much sleep as I can by the training staff at work.
Jessie Fleming: Especially this new young girl, she has been on my case about taking care of myself and whatever, but she’s cute so I gave her a pass.
The mention of Janine has your mind thinking back to the other day, Janine grabbing Jessie and whispering to her before she gave you a look that felt like she suddenly knew everything. You wanted to ask Jessie about it but now probably wasn’t the best time.
You: I sleep like that too, more comfortable
You: I’m sure that girl is just looking out for you.
Jessie Fleming: I know, right? I tried to tell that to so many of my teammates, none of them listen.
Jessie Fleming: stop texting me, go back to work so you can go home.
You: you’re the one texting me
Jessie Fleming: shhhhh
You:
You put your phone away, putting it on silent so there was no temptation to text Jessie, having no idea if she had responded. You finish your paperwork, finally standing up your back and knees both cracking as you stretch. You check you phone as you walk to the car, seeing it was 8:22. You’d have to go home, get dinner, shower, all to get up at 4:30 to be at work by 5:30.
A message from Jessie sits on your screen. You debate texting her back but you don’t want to wake her if she’s already gone to sleep.
Jessie Fleming: Have a good night, hope you’re not at work too late :)
When you sit back at your desk the next morning you feel deja vu, feeling like you never left. The only difference is there is no longer a pile of work in front of you, you thank yourself for staying to complete it all last night. You lean forward letting your head rest on your desk for a moment.
“Hi!” Jessie comes around the corner of your office, sounding way too chipper for 5:30 in the morning, but then again she was able to be in bed at 7:30. You look up to her to see her carrying two coffees. She approaches you and sticks her hand out offering you one of the drinks. You were so grateful, you had opted for 5 minutes of extra sleep in the morning instead of getting a coffee and you were starting to regret that decision.
“Should you really be showing up to my office with coffee? You do remember what happened last time you did that, right?” You question her, squinting at her across your desk and sending a glance to the wall where she had pinned you.
“Maybe that’s why I’m doing it, maybe I liked what happened last time.” She pauses, tilting her head, thinking back to the memory. “Except not when your Mom walked in, I didn’t like that, that was terrifying.” A quick grimace follows by a smile comes across her face.
“Jessie, we can’t.”
“I know, I know.” She sounds defeated. “I just figured since going out for coffee doesn’t really fit into your schedule right now, I’d just bring it to you. I promise I’m not trying to get anything out of you.” She sits down in the seat across from you.
“How late were you here last night?” Jessie’s phone buzzes on the table, she ignores it.
“Just before 9.”
“Oh wow, I was asleep by then.” You envy her early bedtime.
“Yeah so I am incredibly grateful for this, thank you.” You shake your coffee cup as her phone lights up with another notification. This time your eyes trail to it. You’re not trying to look at her messages but you just can’t help but glance at the lit up screen.
Jessie noticed your eyes' quick movement toward her phone, “Sorry that’s just Janine, I told her I was coming in to do some early recovery and she’s giving me a hard time about it.”
“What do you mean?”
“She’s just teasing me.” She pauses, “about you.” She uses her coffee cup in her hand to point at you.
“Oh, did you tell her? She gave me a weird look the other day, after you came back and we hugged in the training room, you two walked out together and she sort of stared at me. So did you tell her? About the kiss I mean?” Finally getting an appropriate time to ask what was up with Janine’s look.
“It may have slipped out, one of the times I was talking about you. But she’s been teasing me about you since before that.” Jessie looks down to type back to Janine on her phone.
“Jessie!” Her head snapped back up when she heard you scolding her name. Knowing someone else knows about your kiss, someone you didn’t yet know well enough, makes you uneasy. “You can’t just be telling people that!”
“It’s Janine, she’s my best friend, she knows me too well, she knew something happened and asked. I didn't think it would be a big deal, she’s not going to tell anyone.” Jessie defends herself.
“I get that you think that Jessie, but if she slips up, next thing the whole team knows, then it gets out, you’ll get in trouble for sleeping with the student trainer, who’s 4 years younger than you.” You were spiraling, you’re not sure if you believe what you’re saying or if your mom had just scared you into it. You didn’t want your own career to be at risk and you definitely didn’t want Jessie getting in trouble.
“We haven’t slept together, plus you’re an adult, it’s not like I’m 20 and you’re 16! We’re both grown.”
“I know that, but good luck telling that to anyone else, they won’t listen!”
“I really didn’t mean to tell her, it just sort of slipped out and I’m sorry. I didn’t think it would be an issue.” Jessie crosses her arms across her chest, she feels less warm than usual, less friendly, less inviting.
Only, it felt like it was a problem that she had told people. You weren’t sure why Jessie would think it was okay to go around telling people about your kiss without at least checking in with you. A small bubble of frustration with the woman sitting across from you started to build.
“Jessie, if people find out I could get fired! Sure, it might temporarily make your image bad but you’re too damn good, you’ll stay Captain, you’ll keep getting your call ups, keep being desired by different clubs, it won’t ruin your career like it could mine.”
“Nothing is going to get out, nothings going to happen, it’s not that big of a deal!” Now Jessie is raising her voice at you slightly. She’s leaning across your desk.
“Maybe it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal that to you, but it is to me.” You yell back, thankful that no one else was in at the office yet. You take a breath realizing this argument was not something you needed to be doing at 5:30 in the morning. “You should probably go do your recovery. I have things to get done” You point to the doorway.
“Oh.” It’s obvious the sadness on Jessie’s face and in her voice. A sudden change from her argumentative demeanor. “Yeah, I’m going to do that.” She pushed back from your desk. “I’m sorry.”
You let her walk out without saying anything. She doesn’t close your office door on her way out. Feeling stupid about the argument, you let your forehead come crashing back onto your desk with a loud thud, a lot harder than you intended.
“You okay?” You hear Jessie ask, hearing the sound of your head against your desk from the other room.
“Yeah, all good.” You groan back. You didn’t want her to care and feel the need to check on you. You know you shouldn’t care about he either but you can’t help yourself.
Despite being quite annoyed with Jessie at the moment, you’re unable to look away every time she passes by your door, doing exercises or walking across the room to get equipment. Time goes on and then you hear her digging in the ice cooler, the sound of a plastic bag and some shuffling around.
“Stupid wrap.” Hearing her talking to herself you stand up from your chair, it was your job after all to help with these things. You see her struggling to hold and secure a bag of ice she had made to her calf.
“Let me help you.” You offer empty hands to take the ice bag from her, grabbing the wrap and squatting in front of her to help her get it tight on her leg.
“Thanks.” She gives you a smile, the way she was grinning looking down at you sent a shiver through your body.
“Is it still treating you okay?” You look up at her from where you’re kneeling in front of her.
“Yeah it’s been good, just being overly cautious with it still, that’s why I’m doing all this.” She points down where your hands were wrapping the ice bag. You just nod, returning your focus to what you were doing instead of staring up at the girl’s pretty brown eyes.
You let the silence sit between the two of you for only a second before you break it.
“I’m sorry for how I reacted in the office just now. I think I’m just a little paranoid, we’re adults, we’re allowed to do what we’re doing technically. I just didn’t think you’d be going around talking about me and the fact that you kissed me.” You stand up.
“To be fair, I’m not going around talking about you to everyone, it’s really just been to Janine, she made some comments about you before we had even really talked much, she knows me too well. She knew I was interested, so she made some comments about me finding you pretty to which I blushed and she was onto me right away apparently I’m not great at hiding my crushes.” She looks down at her feet.
“I just freaked out, knowing that someone else knows that you had me against the wall, in my office.”
“If it helps, she doesn’t know I pinned you to the wall.” Jessie’s face is now a bright red. It’s suddenly very obvious to you how close the two of you we’re standing, face to face. It’s apparent that you can make out all the little details of her face, where each freckle sat across her nose and cheeks, you could see it all. Despite still being upset and frustrated with Jessie for telling Janine about your previous kiss, you suddenly don’t care and have the desire to kiss her all over again.
“Jessie.” You stare at her lips while saying her name. You don’t know if she noticed you’re staring, but her tongue runs over her bottom lip, wetting it.
“What?”
“Don’t, what, me. You know what.” Your eyes don’t move from Jessie’s lips.
“No I don’t. You’ll have to enlighten me.” You do, leaning in your hands finding her face you pull her toward you. Your lips meet hers, they’re warm and soft and plump against yours. Her hands find your hips, pulling you against her hard. Her grip is tight, it feels safe. This time you’re able to finish your kiss, both of you pulling away just before you debate sliding your tongue against her lips.
“You really should stop bringing coffee to my office I guess, it always seems to end like this.” You let out once you both breathe for a second. Jessie lets out a soft laugh.
You hear the door to the training room open and you jump away from Jessie, turning to pretend to organize something, finding nothing, everything already being packed up. This leaves you just standing there looking at the wall. You and Jessie both look over to see Janine standing there, coffee in one hand, training bag in the other and a smirk across her face.
“Well you two aren’t suspicious at all.” She says sarcastically as she walks from the doorway further into the training room and in your direction. “I’d recommend actually doing something to make it look like you two weren’t just doing what I think you were.” You can’t read her tone as she speaks to you. “Looking at imaginary things on the wall doesn’t really work as a good cover.” She stops behind you to speak softly only to you. You stay facing the wall, not wanting to turn and let either of the players in the room see how bright red your cheeks are.
“I’m going to go change, I’ll be back in probably 5 minutes, behave yourselves.” Janine says to both of you, she walks away into the changing room.
“Whoops.” You turn back to look at Jessie who is still standing where you kissed her. You both have matching blushes on your face.
“At least it wasn’t my mom this time.” You shrug at her, trying to make light of the situation again.
“I guess,” she shrugs back.
“But seriously Jessie, we can’t keep doing this, we leave for Paris in less than 36 hours. You have to go, be focused, be this team's leader, we can’t, I can’t be distracting you.”
“I know.”
“So that means no more surprise coffees, no more private meetings, like Janine said, we have to behave. Strictly professional from now on. No more of this.” You use a finger to point between the two of you.
“Strictly professional, got it.” She nods at you but her smile tells you she’s not taking you seriously.
“I’m serious this time Jessie.” You try your best to be stern with her.
“So am I.” You were both lying through your teeth, and you both knew it but neither of you were going to call each other out and say anything.
“Or just until the Olympics are over.” You add, hoping she’ll maybe be interested in whatever the two of you were doing come the end of the games.
“Until it's over.” She flashes you a smile before turning to leave, following in the direction Janine went to change. She flashes you a smile before heading through the doors. You move back into your office leaning against the desk.
“Hey.” You jump as Janine flies around the corner of your office door. She walks in closing the door behind you.
“Okay I don’t have a lot of time, but I need to talk to you really quick.”
“What’s up?” You move behind the desk, looking for her file pulling it out. You start to open it and Janine’s hand comes down on it, closing the folder hard.
“This isn’t about me.” She’s staring down at you as you sink back into your chair.
You realized exactly what this was about. “Oh.”
“If you so much as hurt a hair on her head-”
“I won’t.” You interrupt.
“I wasn’t finished.” You nod, letting her finish. “Jessie is a special human and quite frankly she doesn’t need you. She’s perfect on her own, she’s strong and independent and she doesn’t need you, but she wants you, so I’m going to respect that, but please let her focus on this tournament. I don’t know what you two are really doing, she’s been pretty tight lipped, but please. She’s smart but she might not think straight with her crush brain, she might think she can handle starting something with you during this tournament, but she can’t. She needs to be focused. She’d hate herself down the line if she let someone get in her head and mess with her playing. She’s worked her life for these tournaments. This team needs her focused, not distracted because of you.” Janine rants at you.
“I know. We’ve discussed it. I won’t be a distraction to her or to anyone. I promise, I want what’s best for her and the whole team.” You mean it, you want what’s best for the team, and you don’t want to distract Jessie or anyone, you saw how hard they all worked and would hate to be the reason anything went wrong.
“You seem like a good person, and given that Jessie likes you so much, you must be. So I’m going to trust you.” Her hand comes off the file on your desk.
“Janine! Come play Teqball with me!” Jessie hollers through the training room.
“Ahh the queen of Canada awaits.” Janine says, looking at you. She turns to leave, her hand on the doorknob. “Just so you know, I’m serious, don’t hurt her, I’ll make your life miserable.” The way she spoke with still a large smile while telling you she’d ruin your life was slightly terrifying, but very much fitting for her Canadian personality.
“I know.” You just nod. And you did know. It wouldn’t just be Janine coming after you if you messed up with Jessie her entire team would hate you. If you distracted her from the tournament the country of Canada would hate you. You’d never get to work for a Canadian team, you’d never get to live that down. Your nerves build up a bit, even though you had no intentions to hurt Jessie ever, things happen, life happens.
Your spiral of nerves is diminished as you hear Jessie’s laugh carrying through the room. Just her laugh made you smile, your nerves ease. You were in deep, probably in too deep, but there wasn’t anything you could do now, except go to Paris and do your best to just be coworkers with Jessie. You needed to be invisible and not a distraction..
So that’s what you did. Or at least tried to do.

Sew Me Up and Keep Me Whole
fanfiction
ao3
word count: 7603
Thanks to seeing how various injuries are treated as a member of the football team, Dash actually has a decent background in first aid and anatomy. He gets adopted into Team Phantom when circumstances keep leading him to be the one patching up Phantom after fights.
ohohohhoho
Dash was walking home after a football game. He was exhausted and was looking forward to going to bed tonight. Plus there was a ghost attack at the end of the game so it ran extra long while they waited for it to be over.
He turned into the park. It was dark in the park, but it made his trip home from the school faster. His dad would be even madder if he woke him up this late. He wanted to get back as soon as possible.
He got to the wooded part of the trees when he heard something. It sounded like voices.
“Tucker, you’re not doing it right.” Somebody whispered angrily. It sounded like Manson.
“Do you want to try doing this?” He hissed back. “I’m the only one who’s taken a sewing class. You didn’t think you should be reduced to something so ‘stereotypically feminine.’”
“-’s not ev’n a fem’n’n thing.” Was that Fenton? “Sewing is a b-basic life skill…”
“That’s not the point!” She hissed back at them. “My mom-”
Dash stepped through the bushes and past the tree separating them and fell short. That wasn’t who he was expecting to be there.
Phantom sat in between Foley and Manson, not Fenton. As he stepped through the bushes their heads snapped up to look at him. Phantom’s head groggily lulled to the side as he looked at Dash.
“Ha. Jus’...what we need.”
Dash frowned. “What?”
Phantom chuckled and closed his eyes.
“No! Don’t close your eyes!” Manson lightly slapped him. When he just groaned and leaned his head back against the tree behind him she slapped him harder.
“...Sam!” He pried his eyes open and glared at her. “Don’ hit m’..”
“You can’t fall asleep until Tucker is done with your stitches. If only he could just hurry it up.” Manson ground out.
“I’m going as fast as I can!” Tucker breathed out, his hand shakily pulling another stitch through Phantom’s injury. “I don’t want to leave an ugly scar or make it worse by not doing it well.”
Dash stepped closer to where they were sat behind the bushes. Manson shot another look at him. He could finally see Phantom’s wound and it was pretty gnarly. Foley’s stitches were holding it closed but they definitely weren’t pretty.
“Do you need help?” Dash asked apprehensively. “I’ve seen a lot of injuries during football practice. And I’m not squeamish like you, Foley.”
“Yeah? You know how to sew up wounds?” Manson spit out. “How is watching people get treated for wounds during practice the same as sewing up an injury?”
Dash held up his hands. “It seems like Foley doesn’t know what he’s doing either. I know how to sew already. Isn’t that like halfway there?”
Foley looked at Manson. “If he can get it done faster than me, why not let him? We’re gonna run out of time.”
“How can we trust him?” Manson glanced at Dash, worrying her lip.
“He is literally Phantom’s biggest fan except for maybe Paulina. Do you really think he’s gonna try to kill him?”
A blush rose to Dash’s cheeks at Foley’s comment while Manson kept studying him.
A few more moments went by before she looked back at Phantom. He smiled at her groggily.
She sighed. “Fine. Dash, get over here.”
His eyes widened, stunned that they actually accepted his help. He strode forward and knelt on the ground between Foley and Manson. Phantom looked up at him, the goofy smile still on his face.
“Funny that y’ur the one h’lping me.” He chuckled.
“Why’s that?” Dash asked. Phantom just shook his head and chuckled again.
“Here.” Foley handed him a pair of gloves. “We don’t know if his ectoplasm can irritate or damage skin. We haven't felt risky enough to try it out yet.”
“How often do you guys do this?” Dash snapped his gloves on and took the needle from Foley. Phantom smiled wistfully.
“I get hurt a lot.”
Dash hummed as he made his first stitch. “Well that’s not good.”
“Yeahh.. ghosts suck. And also bullies. They can hurt pretty bad sometimes too.”
Shame wriggled into Dash’s stomach as he made another stitch. What would Phantom think of him if he knew he was a bully himself?
Phantom hummed a wistful sigh as he watched Dash sew his wound closed.
“Y’know, ‘ur pretty cute.”
Dash’s brain stopped for a moment and spent a second processing what Phantom said. He felt like he was short circuiting.
“What?” Dash asked.
Tucker burst out laughing. “Man, you’re not gonna live this one down.” Sam shushed him.
Dash continued sewing Phantom’s wound closed as he tried to get his bearings. He never would’ve thought his hero would think of him like that.
“So.” He said, pulling the thread tight. “Are you guys friends?”
“We’r’ bes frie-” Sam covered his mouth.
“We help him with ghost fights. We don’t know him that well.”
“Oh. It just seemed like you guys are pretty close. He must trust you two a lot.”
Dash finished up his last stitch. “There we go. You’re all closed up.”
Phantom smiled at him again as Dash pulled off his gloves and put them in a bag Tucker held up to him. “Tha’ was s’much faster than Tucker.”
“Much cleaner stitches, too.” Sam said, leaning down to look at them.
“‘Thank you for trying, Tucker. We’re so grateful for you, Tucker.’” He mumbled out as he put all their supplies back in his bag.
“C’mon, Tuck!” Phantom lulled his head in Tucker’s direction. “You’ve stitched up so… so many stitches before now. I’d’d have bled out so many times over with-without you.”
“Thank you, D- Phantom.”
Dash pushed himself up off the ground and stretched. “Do you guys need help getting him back… Wherever he needs to go?”
“We can take him back to my house.” Sam stood up. “My parents are those people who go to bed at eight o’clock and get up at some ungodly hour for their office jobs.”
“Can you stand, Phantom?” Tucker asked him.
Phantom shakily tried to stand up. He only made it up part way before he fell back to his knees.
“Here.”
Dash bent down and picked Phantom up bridal style. He adjusted his hold on him until he was holding him comfortably.
“Okay.” Dash turned to look at Sam. “Lead the way.”
He followed behind Sam and Tucker as they walked through the trees. Phantom was much heavier than what Dash would expect from a ghost. He figured ghosts would be light as a feather since they could fly, but Phantom felt so much like a human it was uncanny.
Phantom leaned his head back into the crook of Dash’s neck. He took a sharp breath in as he felt Phantom’s breath ghost against his neck.
Dash looked down at Phantom and his eyes were closed, but after a few moments of Dash staring Phantom peeked an eye open.
He jumped and looked back up at Sam and Tucker. They were whispering between themselves, shooting glances back at Dash. Phantom chuckled.
“Thank you for helping us.”
Dash looked back down at him. Phantom already seemed to be more coherent than when Dash first stumbled upon them.
“Of course. You should probably thank your friends for letting me help you. They were pretty skeptical at first.”
Phantom shrugged. “They’re just looking out for me. They’re protective.”
“So you are friends?” Dash asked. Phantom looked at Sam and Tucker.
“Yeah. They’re the best friends I could’ve asked for.”
“Are you friends with the Fenton kid too?” Dash asked.
Phantom turned to look at Dash sharply. “The Fenton kid?”
“Yeah.” Dash nodded. “Danny. Hangs around with those two. Kind of a freak.”
Phantom frowned at him and turned away from him. “Oh. The ghost hunter’s son? No. Why would I be friends with him? His parents would tear me apart.”
“Oh. Yeah that’s true. Those three just never go anywhere without each other so I thought maybe he was in on this too. He’s a dork anyways.”
“We’re here.” Sam called behind them.
Dash looked up to see Sam and Tucker stopped in front of a set of stairs leading to Sam’s front door. Phantom suddenly jumped out of Dash’s arms and winced once his feet hit the ground. It set Dash off balance and it took a moment for him to regain it.
Phantom walked over to where Sam and Tucker were waiting.
“Will you be okay?” Dash called to him.
“Yeah.” Phantom said without looking back at him. “I’ll be fine.”
He walked away from Dash without looking back at him. The three of them walked inside the door and shut it behind them.
He stood there and stared at the closed door. A pit formed in his stomach but he’s not sure what happened.
He turned around and started the short trek home.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dash was walking in the hallways of Casper High. He was heading to his next class. He just wanted this day to be over with.
Up ahead of him he saw Fenton and his friends. He smirked and started walking faster to catch up with them.
“Hey, Fentoadally lame! Where do you think you’re going!”
He saw Fenton’s shoulders rise and fall as he sighed. He looked over his shoulder at Dash, an angry grimace on his face.
“Anywhere away from you.”
The hallways were starting to clear out as it got closer to the bell. He caught up to them and grabbed Danny by the shoulder, turning him around and slamming him into the lockers to their left. He glared up at Dash.
“What do you want, Dash?”
Dash sneered down at him. “I want to get my afternoon wailing in before I lose my chance and you disappear for the rest of the day like you did yesterday.”
Danny rolled his eyes. “And why does your wailing have to be on me?”
“Because you’re my favorite nerd to wail on.” Dash said as he pulled his arm back, ready to hit Danny.
“Excuse me!”
Something hit Dash in the back of the head. He hissed and when he turned around he saw Sam holding her boot in her hand, glaring at him.
“What the hell, Manson?” He rubbed the spot she had hit. “What’s that boot made of?”
“Steel toe.” Tucker said from where he stood, far away from the action.
“How’s it feel, Dash? Huh? Do you like getting hit? Do you want to know what it’s like to get beat up for no reason every single day?” Sam spat at him.
He took a step away from her. He already knew what that was like. He didn’t need to know what it would be like, just from a different person.
“Sam-” Danny tried stepping out from behind Dash to get to her but there wasn’t enough room for him to move.
“Why should we let you keep helping us with Phantom if we can’t trust you to leave our friend alone?”
“What?” Dash asked, incredulous. “How are either of these things related?”
Sam walked up to him and poked him in the chest. Distantly Dash could hear the late bell ringing. “Because how do we know you wouldn’t turn on Phantom? That if we relied on you, that you would actually be there to help him?”
“But Phantom is-”
“A person, just like Danny.” Sam said. “Just because Danny isn’t your ‘hero’ doesn’t mean he deserves to be a punching bag.”
Dash rolled his eyes. “Fenton just asks for it.”
Sam closed her eyes and shook her head.
“No, you know what? We won’t need your help anymore, Dash. We were doing just fine without you. We’ll manage.”
“I didn’t want to have to associate with you nerds anymore than I have to anyways.” Dash tried to ignore the pang in his chest at the idea of not being able to help Phantom anymore.
“You know, I’ve heard that Phantom doesn’t like bullies.” Fenton said from behind him.
Dash turned and frowned at him. “What do you know?” He shoved Fenton into the lockers one more time and walked away from them. He could hear Sam furiously whispering with Danny about something but Dash tried to tune it out.
Where did Manson get off threatening to beat him? That’d just make her a hypocrite, wouldn’t it? Doing the very thing she hates?
Whatever. It didn’t matter. She couldn’t make it so Phantom couldn’t talk to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey, I’ll see you later, Kwan!” Dash said as he walked out of the Nasty Burger. Kwan turned around where he was walking the opposite way down the sidewalk.
“Yeah! See you tomorrow, buddy!” Kwan shouted back at him.
Dash smiled as he started his walk home. Kwan was always pretty good at cheering him up. He’d had a pretty bad week. Every time he’d gone to Phantom to try to talk to him he’d up and disappear or fly away before Dash could even get a word in. Sam and Tucker must’ve said something to him about what happened with Fenton.
He sighed. He’d probably never get to talk to Phantom again at this rate.
He heard some rustling coming from the alley he was coming up on. He paused just before it. Nothing good ever came from inside alleyways.
“Tucker, where are you- Danny, he-”
He could hear Manson’s panicked voice coming from inside the alley. He crept forward.
Dash looked into the alley to see Sam desperately talking on the phone. Phantom sat on the ground in front of her. She was holding a rag to his stomach.
“No, no I already have the supplies. I can’t-”
A tear streamed down her face. “Tucker, I need you. I can’t do this without you.”
Phantom’s eyes slowly opened. He tilted his head towards the end of the alley that Dash was standing in. He locked eyes with him, taking a deep breath.
“Sam..”
She looked up at him. When she saw where he was looking, she followed his gaze until her eyes landed on Dash. Her eyes widened. After a few moments of staring, she put her phone back up to her ear.
“No, Dash- Dash is here. He just walked up. He- He could probably help us again. Just one more time.”
Dash jumped. How serious was it this time that she couldn’t wait for Tucker?
“Dash, get over here!”
He jumped again at her call, but ran to them inside the alley.
“Can you stitch him up again?” She pleaded. “I know what I said, but I-”
“It’s fine.” Dash said. “I’m not that petty that I’ll refuse to save his life just because you don’t like me.”
She pulled a first aid kit out of her backpack and handed it to him. “You’re mean to me and my friends. I don’t want to be around you if you’re going to bully us.”
“Tch.” Dash scoffed. He pulled on a pair of gloves. “As if you aren’t just as mean to us. You go around antagonizing Paulina and forcing things that you want to do on other people.”
She rolled her eyes. “You literally beat people up and stuff them into their lockers. That is not the same thing.”
“Yeah, well-”
“As much as I love watching Sam tell it to you, can you guys hurry it up?”
Dash and Sam looked at Phantom. He had one eye squinted open and he was looking between them.
“Sorry.” Dash said. He threaded the needle and got started stitching up Phantom’s wound.
They were silent while Dash worked. His stitches were quick and soon Dash was done. He sighed.
“I actually used to be friends with them when we were younger. Before they met you.”
“What?” Sam turned to stare at him. “Why are you so mean to them then?”
“My parents didn’t like Fenton’s parents. Or all the nonsense they were spouting about ghosts. I’d come home and tell them all about it and they thought the Fenton’s were ‘corrupting my mind’ or something like that.”
Phantom turned his head to look at Dash.
“My parents told me I couldn’t be his friend anymore. And I told Danny that, but he didn’t get it. And he and Tucker were a package deal at that point. They were more inseparable than me and Danny had ever been. So I just… told them that I didn’t want to be their friend anymore. That they weren’t cool enough. I think I hit one of them. They didn’t go out of their way to talk to me after that.”
They sat in silence for a moment after that.
“Parents, amiright?” Sam said quietly, as she looked at Phantom. “My parents are like that. They try to get me to stop being friends with Danny all the time but I argue too much with them for it to ever stick. Or I don’t tell them when I’m hanging out with Danny.”
“At least you have that luxury.” Dash looked at the ground. “If I don’t listen to my parents… Well, they like to use their fists more than their words.”
Sam covered her mouth.
Dash let out a short laugh.
“And now ghosts are real and they keep asking me all sorts of questions like they expect me to remember the things they told me were bad and wanted me to forget.”
Dash was startled when he felt a hand on his arm. He looked up and saw that Phantom was still staring at him.
“It’s not your fault.”
Dash shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut. He shifted so that instead of kneeling on his knees, he was sitting on the ground. He ran his hands through his hair roughly.
“It is my fault!” Dash ground out. “I didn’t have to treat them the way I did! I could’ve broken the cycle but now I’m just like my parents.”
“You don’t have to be.” Sam said. “There’s always time to change. Hell, admitting to how shitty you’ve been is a pretty good start.”
Dash sighed. Phantom looked like he was about to say something but he was interrupted by Tucker sprinting into the alley, out of breath.
“I’m here! I’m here. Did you guys get it figured out?”
Sam nodded and gestured at Dash. “He helped us out again. He really came in clutch there.”
Dash nodded and stood up. “I guess I should get going now. I don’t want to-”
“Wait!” Sam held her hands up in a stop motion. She stood up to look at him. “Do you want to join team Phantom?”
“What?” Tucker looked at her, shocked. “Why are you asking Dash to join the team? I thought you-”
“Clearly having another person around will be beneficial.” Sam interrupted Tucker without looking at him. “You’ve already helped us twice. You could even teach us to sew and stitch up wounds better.”
Dash looked between the three of them. He wasn’t a part of whatever they had going. Would they really be okay with him joining their team? Did they really want him to be a part of it? Or was it just a pity offer?
“Why would you want me to join your team?” Dash said quietly.
“You care more than I thought you did.” Sam said.
Dash laughed. That didn’t seem like a very concrete reason.
“Break the cycle.”
Dash looked back up at where Phantom still sat on the ground. He was staring at Dash.
“Break the cycle.” He said again. “Prove that you can be better. If not for us, just do it for yourself.”
Dash looked away. He nodded. That sounded like a good reason. Work to break the cycle his parents put him in. He nodded again.
“Okay. I’ll do it. I’ll join Team Phantom.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dash stood outside Tucker’s door awkwardly. Tucker said now would be a good time to come over so they could practice sewing. He hasn’t knocked yet though. He hadn’t been back here since they were all still friends.
He lifted his hand up and paused for a moment. Finally, he brought his fist down on the door and knocked twice.
“I’ve got it!” Tucker shouted from inside the house. He heard some shuffling and then a muffled, “Mom!”
Then the door opened, but instead of Tucker it was his mom. His eyes widened as her mouth dropped open. She looked behind her where Tucker was standing and then looked back at Dash. Tucker shrugged behind her.
“Why, Dash, I haven’t seen you in such a long time. How have you been?” She asked him.
He nodded. “Good, good. Things have been fine. How have you been?”
“Things have been good here.” She looked between Tucker and Dash again. “What brings you over after so long?”
“I, uh..” Dash stammered. They didn’t come up with an excuse. He really couldn’t tell her they were practicing sewing so they could sew up wounds.
“Class project!” Sam’s voice came from down the steps behind him. He turned to see her hurrying up the stairs. “We’re going to be working on our sewing today for class. Dash is going to practice with us.”
“Ohh.” Tucker’s mom nodded. “Well that sounds fun. Do you guys have any projects in the making?”
“We’re not quite there yet, mom.” Tucker said as he stepped forward. “We’re still learning so we’ll probably just be sewing squares of fabric together.”
She nodded again. “Let me know if you kids have any questions. I know a thing or two about sewing myself.” She smiled at them.
“Thanks, mom. We will.” Tucker waved them into the house and then closed the door behind them once they were both inside. “Come on, let’s go upstairs.”
He followed behind both Tucker and Sam as they made their way up the stairs. He hadn’t been here in a very long time but little had changed over the years. Except for maybe new photos that had been hung up on the wall.
They reached the top of the stairs and then Tucker pulled down the attic door and unfolded the ladder. They climbed up there and Dash had the fleeting thought that if they wanted to make him disappear, an attic would be a pretty good place to make that happen.
“Boo.”
Dash jumped as a voice spoke close into his ear and then laughter erupted from an invisible mouth.
“Oh that was good. I haven’t been able to get Sam or Tucker that good in a long time.”
Phantom dropped his invisibility and appeared in front of Dash. Dash chuckled nervously.
“Phantom, don’t be too mean to him. We’re trying to make amends, remember?” Sam called to them while she and Tucker dug through some box.
“Yeah, yeah.” Phantom waved her comment off. He looked back at Dash. “I gotta have fun with this whole ghost thing somehow though, right?”
Dash nodded. “I can’t say I would be so chivalrous if I had your powers. I’d probably be sneaking into the girl’s locker room or something.”
“Eh. It was exciting the first couple times but now the novelty has worn off.”
Dash’s eyes widened. Phantom went to spy in the girl’s locker room?
“Anyways.” Phantom drawled out. “What will I be doing today?”
Dash stared at him. “You’ll also be learning to sew.”
Phantom frowned. “Why?”
“If Sam or Tucker, or even me, ever get hurt during one of your ghost fights it might be useful for you to know. Or if you ever have an occasion where you’re alone and need to do it yourself, if you’re able to of course.”
“Are you gonna be like, our teacher?” Sam asked Dash.
Dash shrugged. “I can explain the basics but this is mostly just practice time.”
They got to work practicing their sewing. Sam and Tucker were working together on the other side of the attic while Dash worked with Phantom. They had cut up squares of fabric that they were sewing together. Phantom looked up at Dash as he pulled a thread through his two pieces he had in his hands.
“Why’d you learn to sew?” Danny asked. “It’s not something most guys pick up.”
Dash shrugged. “My parents liked to wreck a lot of my things growing up. They destroyed a lot of stuffed animals, but when they ripped apart the last teddy bear I got from my grandma before she passed away I decided I was going to take it into my own hands and fix it.”
“Oh.” Phantom’s shoulders dropped and he looked at Dash sadly. “I’m sorry they did that.”
“They’re not good people.” Dash made a couple more stitches on his own squares in his hands. “It hurt when I realized that.”
Phantom nodded. “Sometimes I worry that my parents are bad people. They want to hurt me but I know they’re not actually bad.”
“How are they not bad? You just said they want to hurt you.” Dash frowned at him.
“It’s more complicated because of the whole ghost thing.” Phantom shook his head. “They don’t know who I am.”
Dash’s eyes widened. “What? How can they not know?”
Phantom’s sad expression turned into a smirk. “I’ve got to keep some of my secrets.”
Dash rolled his eyes. “Okay, Inviso-bill.”
“Hey!” Phantom pushed his shoulder.
His skin tingled where Phantom had touched him through his jacket. They smiled at each other and Dash looked back down at the fabric in his hands. They worked for another couple moments before Phantom spoke again.
“What if we sewed them all together?”
“What?” Dash looked back up at him.
“The squares.” Phantom held up his small pile he had gathered while they were working. “We could sew all the squares we make together and turn them into a blanket.”
“Ohh. That’d be cool.” He turned around in his seat. “Yo, Manson. Foley!”
They turned around to face him. “What?”
“Phantom wants to turn our squares into blankets.”
“I like that idea.” Tucker said.
“Does your mom have a sewing machine? It might be easier to sew all the rows together with the sewing machine once we get that far.”
Tucker nodded. “Let me go ask her for it.”
He headed downstairs. Sam stood up and walked over to them.
“How’s your practice going?” She asked.
“Good.” Phantom held up his work so far. The stitches were getting neater and tighter as he showed Sam his progress.
As Dash was showing Sam his own squares, Tucker made his way back up the ladder to the attic. He hefted the sewing machine up onto the floor and climbed up with some extra fabric and some kind of stuffing. He let out a breath.
“My mom gave us some fabric and some quilt batting so we can finish turning it into a blanket.”
“How do we decide who gets to keep the blanket?” Dash asked.
Phantom looked at him. “I think you should get it. We can always make more if we’re going to keep practicing sewing. You should get the first one.”
“Yeah.” Sam said. “It can be a thank you for taking the time to teach us and practice with us.”
“Let’s get this bad boy finished.”
They spent the next couple hours practicing sewing the squares by hand and once they were all sewed together Dash took them to the sewing machine. They got all the rows assembled and the blanket put together with the stuffing inside. Dash stood up and held it up for everyone to look at.
Tucker clapped. “Great work everyone. Just, wow.”
Sam rolled her eyes.
Dash lowered it and smiled at them.
“Here.”
Phantom floated forward and grabbed the other end of the blanket and helped Dash fold it. Their fingers met as they folded it together. Phantom passed his end to Dash and their fingers grazed as he pulled away.
“Thanks.” They stared at each other for a few moments. Dash cleared his throat. “Well. I should get going. It’s getting kind of late.”
“Yeah. Me too.” Sam checked the time on her phone. My parents are gonna start calling me if I don’t get home soon.”
“Thanks for helping us out Dash.” Phantom called as Dash started making his way down the ladder. Dash smiled at him.
“Thanks for giving me the chance.”
~~~~~~~~~~~
Dash stepped out of the school. It was empty in the schoolyard. Dash had had to stay late to finish up a test with one of his teachers.
“Hey.”
Dash jumped at the voice beside him. Phantom flickered into visibility.
“Why do you keep doing that?” Dash pouted.
Phantom shrugged and held his head in his hand as he floated next to Dash. “It’s funny. Like I said, I can’t get Sam and Tucker like that anymore.”
“Where are they anyways?” Dash crossed the street in front of the school and started the walk home.
“They’re busy.” Phantom groaned and flipped onto his back midair. “They had some very important stuff to do and they said I couldn’t come with them.”
“So tragic.” Dash smiled and shook his head at Phantom’s antics.
Phantom laughed as he floated backwards on his back beside Dash, his arms crossed behind his head. Dash smiled as he watched him, a warm feeling growing in his chest. Phantom’s smile felt like the sun.
“I think they’re trying to surprise me for my birthday. It’s coming up soon.”
Dash’s eyes widened. “You still celebrate your birthday?”
Phantom shot a look back at him. “Yeah? Don’t you still celebrate yours?”
“Yeah, but you’re a ghost. Wouldn’t you celebrate your death day instead?”
Phantom scrunched up his nose and stared at a point from where they had come. “I try as hard as I can to not think about my death day. It was painful.”
“What was it like? Dying?”
Phantom turned to face Dash. He studied his face for a moment before he spoke.
“I-”
A roar sounded from ahead of them on the street they were walking down. A ghost turned around the corner of a building and stared down at them.
“Stay back.” Phantom said to him and flew away. He flew circles around the ghost's head and soon it was facing back the other way. It roared when Phantom shot an ectoblast between its eyes.
It swung at him again and again, its slow paws trying and trying to hit Phantom.
“You sure are slow!” Phantom smirked at the ghost and spun onto his back. “You fight like my sister.”
The ghost roared again and Phantom flew back to avoid the swipe but he didn’t move fast enough.
The ghost scratched Phantom across the chest as he flew back. Dash could hear him hiss from where he stood on the ground.
“That’s all you got, ghost?” Phantom held his fists back up.
As if taking that as a challenge, the ghost shrieked. It reared up for another hit. Phantom dodged the first one but wasn’t so lucky the second time.
When the ghost’s claws connected with Phantom, Dash could hear the sound of his suit ripping. The ghost spun and sent him flying backwards down the street.
“Phantom!” Dash shouted as he turned to look where Phantom had been thrown behind him.
He laid there on the ground. He was hardly moving. The ghost started closing in, not paying any mind to Dash.
“Hey!” Dash swung his arms in the air, trying to get the ghost’s attention. It finally looked down at him and paused.
“Yeah! Leave him alone!” Dash shouted. He stuck a hand into his backpack and pulled out that lipstick laser that Tucker gave him. He aimed it at the ghost and took a shaky shot.
It hit the ghost in the chest and it roared, charging at him. Dash took a step back but he yanked his backpack off, desperately digging out the thermos. He shakily pulled it out of his backpack just as the ghost was getting to him and he pressed the button.
The ghost loomed over him before it got sucked into the thermos. Once it was gone, Dash closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. Then his eyes snapped back open and he turned around.
Phantom.
He ran down the street to where Phantom lay. Phantom’s eyes opened as Dash got closer. Thank god.
“Hey. How bad is it?” Dash asked as he dropped down to his knees on the pavement.
Phantom hissed as he sat up. “Not the worst I’ve ever had. I’m not sure any of these need stitches.”
“Are you sure?” Dash studied his suit where it was torn. “I could literally hear your suit get shredded from where I was standing.”
“Yeah.” Phantom nodded. “I think a good chunk of things I need to have stitched up are because I kept fighting and tore them and made them worse.” He looked up at Dash. “Thanks, by the way. For helping me with that ghost.”
“Whaat? It was nothing.” Dash smiled at him.
Phantom laughed. “I could see you shaking in your boots from here.”
Dash crossed his arms and turned his nose up away from Phantom. “Fighting ghosts is a lot scarier without fancy ghost powers.”
“Yeah, but really, thanks.”
Dash looked back at Phantom. He couldn’t help it. It was the first thing he could think to do. He wasn’t going to just let a ghost get him when he couldn’t fight.
Dash was lost in thought for a moment before his mind wandered back to Phantom’s injury.
“Do you at least want that bandaged even if you don’t need stitches?”
Phantom nodded. “Yeah. It’ll help stop the bleeding.”
Dash dug through his backpack where it sat next to him when he dropped it. He pulled out his first aid kit.
“Gauze or giant band aid?” Dash asked.
Phantom looked down at his chest where the scratches were. He thought for a moment.
“Probably gauze. I think these are too long for a giant bandaid.”
Dash nodded. He pulled the gauze out and turned back to Phantom. He blushed.
“What?” Phantom asked.
The thought of Dash asking Phantom to undress was frazzling Dash’s brain. He only had to unzip the top part of his jumpsuit but he’d never seen Phantom in anything besides that before. What would he look like underneath?
“I need, uh, you to unzip the top part of your jumpsuit so I can wrap the gauze around your chest.”
Phantom looked back down at his chest. “Oh.” He unzipped the front of his jumpsuit and pulled his arms out. He looked back up at Dash.
Dash’s blush went all the way up to his ears and he tried not to stare but he couldn’t help it. Phantom’s skin was so different from other ghosts. He was so much more human-like than them.
Phantom held his hand out for Dash and he looked back up to his face.
“I can do this if it’s too weird for you.”
“It’s not weird!” Dash blurted out. “I just, uh- I don’t-”
Phantom grabbed the gauze out of Dash’s hand and started wrapping it around his chest. “That’s okay. Sam was kind of awkward the first time she had to do this too.”
Dash nodded, but he was disappointed. This could’ve been an opportunity to get close to Phantom. To maybe graze a hand against his skin. Feel what a ghosts skin would-
“Dash?”
He jumped. “Yeah?”
“I’m all done. Here.” Phantom tossed the roll of gauze back to Dash. He fumbled to catch it and when he did he stowed it back in his first aid kit.
Dash put everything back in his backpack and threw it back on his shoulder. He stood up and waited for Phantom to shove his arms back into his sleeves before he offered his hands to help Phantom up.
Phantom looked at them for a moment before he reached up and grabbed onto Dash’s hands. Dash pulled Phantom to his feet and then they just stared at each other. Dash’s grip on Phantom’s hands tightened. He took a step closer to Phantom but then someone shouted at them.
“Look! It’s Phantom!”
Dash looked up around him and was shocked to see how many people had gathered around them. Where had they all come from? Were they all watching the ghost fight from their homes?
“Phantom, who is this boy? Why is he helping you?”
“Is that your boyfriend?”
“Who would be crazy enough to date a dead person?”
The voices clamored around them and Dash felt like they were pressing in on him. Phantom glanced at him and let go of his hands and instead wrapped an arm around his side.
“Gotta go!”
“Wait, wha-!”
Dash yelped as he was pulled into the air with Phantom as he took off in flight. He’d never flown before. Not even in a plane. He squeezed his eyes shut and wrapped his arm around Phantom’s shoulder. The flight was quick and soon they were touching down on the ground.
Dash peeked an eye open and saw that they were standing in front of his house.
“That was fast.” Dash said, out of breath.
“Yeah.” Phantom smiled at him. “My top speed we’ve clocked so far is a hundred and twelve miles per hour. I can get anywhere in town pretty darn fast.”
“Dang. That’s cool. Kinda scary.”
Phantom smiled. “You get used to it after a while.”
They looked at each other for a moment before Phantom seemed to remember he was still holding onto Dash. He coughed and pulled his hand away and it drifted across Dash’s back, leaving a trail of butterfly inducing tingles.
“Well, I gotta go. I have things to do.”
Dash let out a nervous laugh. “How busy can a ghost possibly be?”
“Like I’ve said, I’ve got to keep some of my secrets.”
Phantom started floating up into the air.
“Aw, come on. We’re not close enough for that yet?” Dash shouted up at him.
He smiled down at Dash. “Not quite. Maybe one day.”
Phantom waved down at Dash and then he flew away. Dash’s heart fluttered and he waved back belatedly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dash was laying in bed. He was ready to go to sleep after such a long day. He could almost fall asleep right now.
He started drifting off but was interrupted a moment later.
Phantom flew through Dash’s bedroom wall and crashed onto his bed. Dash jumped up and stared at the boy that was suddenly next to him.
“Phantom?” Dash exclaimed.
He was curled up on his side next to Dash, holding his stomach.
“I didn’t… I didn’t have anywhere else to go. Tucker is out of town and the far frozen was too far away for this one- ah!” He clenched his stomach again.
“No, no. That’s what I’m here for. That’s why you guys agreed to let me join your team. So that there was someone else there to patch you up.”
Phantom shook his head. “This one’s worse. There’s a chance I’ll-”
A white ring appeared around his waist. Phantom tensed up and groaned before it disappeared again.
“What was that?” Dashed asked, staring.
Phantom shook his head. “You need to start stitching the wound up now. If we wait it’ll start bleeding faster. We can’t-” He tensed up again. Sparks flew around his middle. “We have to hurry.”
At Phantom’s plea, he hurriedly got up and grabbed his first aid kit from under his bed. He kneeled down and Phantom turned to his side to face him.
“Can you uncurl for me? I need to take a look.”
Phantom nodded and slowly pulled his arms away from his stomach. They were covered in ectoplasm. Dash gulped and studied the wound. It was deep. Ectoplasm was steadily oozing out of it. He pulled a pair of gloves on.
“This is pretty deep, what if I can’t-”
“Sewing it shut will help.” Phantom grimaced. “Once the wound is shut my healing abilities will have an easier time mending it.”
Dash nodded. “Okay.”
He took a deep breath and got started. Phantom flinched with every touch of the needle. Dash was halfway done when the ring appeared around his waist again. Phantom struggled to push it away, but it disappeared after a few seconds.
“Phantom.” Dash kept stitching the wound closed. “What’s happening?”
“I can’t keep it back anymore.” Phantom ground out. “When I transform, I’m going to start bleeding much faster. You have to keep stitching me up, no matter what.”
“What? When you transform? What does that-”
The rings appeared around Phantom’s waist a final time. Dash tried to keep his focus on stitching Phantom’s wound, but then the rings split. They revealed a very familiar shirt underneath them.
“I’m sorry.”
The rings finished traveling over the rest of Phantom’s body. Dash’s hands shook as the ectoplasm that was steadily coming out of the wound turned into blood. The pace increased and Dash got a glimpse at Phantom’s face as the rings went over his head and Danny Fenton was left in his place.
Danny met his gaze for a moment and then his eyes fluttered closed.
“Danny?” Dash whispered.
He didn’t move and Dash went back to stitching up the wound. He was almost done and he was hoping this would be enough. That Danny wouldn’t…
He shook his head. He couldn’t think like that. He had already seen the impossible. Danny wouldn’t die. He couldn’t.
He made his last stitch and cut the thread. He grabbed a bag and disposed of everything inside it. He was about to put the first aid kit away when he thought about putting a bandage on top of Danny’s stitches.
He pulled a bandage and some gauze out of the first aid kit and when he turned back around Danny’s eyes were already open, staring at Dash.
“You’re awake already?” Dash whispered. “I wasn’t sure- I was afraid that-”
Danny shook his head. “My healing powers are already working. It just needed help getting started. It can’t heal if it’s still bleeding so much like that.”
Dash let out a deep breath. “I’m glad to hear.”
A pause stretched between them and Dash looked down at his hands and saw the gauze and bandage he was holding. He held them up.
“Do you want these on there too? Would it help?”
Danny nodded. “They’ll help make sure I don’t bleed into my clothes.”
Dash nodded back at him. “Your shirt looks pretty bad too. Do you want one of mine?”
Danny shrugged. “Sure.”
He set the bandage and gauze down on the bed and headed to his dresser. He pulled out a shirt and turned back around to see Danny pulling his shirt off.
Heat rose to Dash’s face and the comments Phantom made that first time Dash helped him came to mind. Tucker’s laugh echoed inside his head.
Man, you’re not gonna live this one down.
Sam and Tucker must know. That’s why they were being so weird that night.
He sat down at the edge of his bed and looked at Danny. He peeled the back of the bandage off and put it over Danny’s stitches. He spread his hand out over it, pressing the edges down, making sure they were sticking to Danny’s skin properly.
“Can you sit up?” Dash asked. Danny nodded and pushed himself up, wincing.
Dash leaned closer to Danny and started winding the gauze around his torso. Once he was done, he looked up to see Danny’s face only a few inches from his own.
They stared at each other for a few moments before they both spoke at once.
“I’m sorry.”
Both of their eyes widened. Dash sat up.
“Why are you sorry? I was literally the one wailing on you for so long.”
Danny shook his head. “I lied to you. I never told you who I was. I could see the way you looked at me, but I didn’t think you’d look at me like that if you knew I was also Danny.”
Dash flushed. “You could tell.” He breathed out.
“Yeah I could.” Then he rolled his eyes. “And if I couldn’t, Tucker would’ve made sure I knew anyway.”
“Tucker knows too?” Dash whispered. He didn’t think anyone could see his developing feelings for Phantom. He thought they just would have assumed it was because he was Phantom’s biggest fan.
“Yeah. No offense, but it was pretty obvious. Especially if even I could tell.”
Dash groaned and covered his face with his hands as he leaned back onto his bed. He felt Danny lean over to look down at him. Dash opened his eyes.
Danny met his eyes. His eyes traveled down his face to his lips. He slowly bent down and pressed his lips against Dash’s. Dash closed his eyes again and after a few seconds Danny pulled away.
“It helped that I was looking for it, though.”
Dash smiled up at him. “You did call me cute that one time.”
Now it was Danny’s turn to groan. “I don’t even know what I was thinking. I hardly even remember that.”
Dash placed a hand on the back of Danny’s head and pulled him back down and kissed him again.
“Did Tucker ever let you live it down?”
Danny laughed. “No. Of course not.”
“I bet it’ll be even worse now.” Dash said against Danny’s lips.
“Oh, you bet it will.”
TSITP Conrad Fisher x Fem!Reader: Only You
This was a request!! You've been Conrad's friend for years. Conrad took you to the Debutante Ball last summer because your date bailed on you and broke up with you. He realized how he felt about you then and now it's pretty much all he can think about. Y/N = Your Name
Conrad's POV
I'm waiting for Y/N to arrive. She texted me when her flight landed and when she got to her summer house in Cousins Beach. Now I just have to wait until she drives and gets here. I missed her so much. I wish she lived closer and we could hang out more. You have no idea how long I've been wanting to hug her tightly and have our night walks on the beach.
My door swings open and Jeremiah pokes his head in to say "Hey uh I think Y/N is here, but she is on a stressful-sounding call in the front yard. I heard her voice go really high and she's pacing." I nod and thank him before heading outside.
I open the front door and I see Y/N. She's hanging up her phone angrily when I get outside. When she sees me, her eyes light up and she runs over to me. I hug her tightly and swing her around a little.
Upon releasing her from her hug, I help Y/N carry her overnight bag to my bedroom. We then go for our walk on the beach because Y/N kindly asks to go on one.
We're walking on the beach and I notice Y/N deep in thought. I reach for her hand to hold it and I ask, "You okay?" Y/N squeezes my hand and says, "I am just tired of everyone in my hometown. I'm so glad I'm going to college this year. I cannot wait to leave them all. They're so exhausting to be around and they're toxic, plus they treat me like shit." I reply "I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know they could get worse. It seems like everything was good at the end of the school year." She replies "I thought so too. I ran into this mean girl and my ex-boyfriend who stood me up at the Debutante Ball at the grocery store the other day. She called me ugly and said I don't deserve happiness. She then showed off my ex and talked about how happy she is with him. He didn't say anything that day, but he texted me the next day about how much he missed me. He said his new girlfriend is rude to everyone and that he was sorry. I just said liked his messages because I do not want him in my life in any aspect. I don't like either of them and I truly just dislike them." I reply "Well fuck them and their thoughts! They suck." She half smiles and I say "You know you have a little dimple on your right cheek that shows when you smile real big or when you're laughing really hard. I've always thought it was cute." She smiles widely and says "You're so sweet, Conrad. You always are." I reply "You're so beautiful, you know that right? Those people suck for trying to make you think otherwise." She asks "Is that why you keep staring at me?" I answer "Oh sorry what was that? I keep getting lost in your eyes. What? Too cheesy?" She laughs and playfully slaps me.
After our walk, we get back to the house where Jeremiah reminds me of the party tonight. Y/N agrees and Jeremiah stares at our hands still intertwined. I can't help that I like holding her hand. Y/N doesn't drop my hand either, so she must like me, right?
Y/N changes and says "I just remembered that I don't even have my whole suitcase here. I think I forgot to bring clothes, except one swimsuit." I ask "Do you need a shirt? I have several. I have the perfect shirt for you tonight. Let me find it." I find it and say "Ok, here it is and you should totally wear it. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but you should." She bursts out laughing and says "Oh I'm for sure wearing this." She changes and I smile widely. I love her in my clothes. What's best about this shirt is that it says FISHER on the back in big letters with my old number from football and on the front is this cheesy photo of me playing football at age 5. My mom had them made when I was in high school.
Y/N walks out in my shirt and it looks good on her. I exclaim "I just realized this will make it look like you're my girlfriend or that we're dating." She smirks and asks "Is that a bad thing? Is there someone else in your life that should wear this instead?" I answer "No and no. There's only you. What about you? Is there uh... someone in your life romantically?" She answers "There is no one but you." I ask "May I take you on a date this week?" She answers "Yes."
Jeremiah walks in, glances between us, and exclaims "We're leaving for the party if you two want to leave when we leave. Y/N, I like your shirt."
We all leave for the party. I drive Y/N and me to the party because Steven, Taylor, Belly, and Jeremiah are in the other car.
We get drinks and I walk around with Y/N a lot. We part ways and she goes off to Belly and Taylor. Jeremiah and Steven stop me when I move to get another drink. Jeremiah asks "What happened with Y/N? She's wearing your shirt. You never let anyone wear your clothes." Steven asks "Did you guys kiss yet?" I answer "We're going on a date this week. We did not kiss." Steven claps me on the back and says "I'm proud of you man. Get your girl!" I ask "What about Taylor?" Steven laughs and walks off. Jeremiah says "I'm happy for you, Conrad. Truly. You and Y/N deserve to be together." I smile.
I take a look at Y/N smiling with friends and I want to hug her, so I sneak behind her and wrap my arms around her waist. I put my head on her shoulder and kiss her on the cheek.
I exclaim "I missed you and I needed to hug you." Y/N replies "I like your hugs. Oh did you know that we're only going to be one hour from each other next year? We can visit each other when we're free on the weekend." I kiss her on the cheek and reply "I did know that. I'm so excited about it and yes, I will be seeing you a lot. I need my Y/N fix." She replies "I think our friends are sick of us." I laugh and ask "And why do you think that?" She answers "Well... you know what? I'm happy with you and your attention, so it does not matter to me what they think." I kiss her on the side of her mouth and say "I'm really happy too. I like you so much. You have no idea." She flips around in my arms and asks "How much?" I kiss her on the lips and she says "You must like me a lot." I ask "And how much do you like me?" She pulls my head back down and deepens the kiss as her hands go into my hair. So she likes me A LOT!
Stranger Things Masterlist
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
“Thank you, Joyce.” Y/n thanked the older woman as she wrapped her arm with goz. Y/n's wrist to elbow had been bleeding and torn up by a Demo Dog that had latched onto her arm. But as far as Y/n was concerned, it could’ve been a lot worse.
“You don’t have to thank me, Honey.” Joyce shook her head giving the teen girl a soft smile. She was trying to comfort her, knowing that Y/n had to be in a ton of pain. Joyce thought of her as a daughter, so seeing her but like this. It really pained her to see Y/n in pain. With the situation they were in it happened often, one of them getting hurt but they couldn't change that.
“Still” Y/n tilted her head as she pulled on her jean jacket, trying to be as cautious as she could be of her arm. She could feel throbbing pain in all the punctures as she moved her arm around.
“You're welcome.” Joyce nodded in return. She knew Y/n would keep saying thank you if she didn’t accept it.
“Hey” Steve walked over to the table that the two women were sitting at. “I can take you home if you want?”
“Yeah, that’d be great. Thanks Steve.” Y/n nodded standing up to follow him out of the Byers house.
“Yeah, no problem.” Steve nodded, giving her a small tight smile. Steve and Y/n became friends back when the whole upside down stuff started. The two became fairly close friends. Sure they still had some awkward moments and with everything that happens in Hawkins sometimes the awkward moments were the ones they loved the most. Because they were normal. A grimace of normal in their very confusing and stressful lives.
Steve drove her home. The car ride was pretty silent on the way to Y/n’s house, but once he pulled up he asked. “Is your arm gonna be okay? Are you going to be okay tonight? Alone."
“If it’s not you can call me anytime.” Steve offered as she stepped out of the car. He wanted her to know she had a friend that would drop anything and be there if she needed.
Y/n nodded softly before letting out a sigh. “Yeah I should be.”
Y/n didn't necessarily want to be alone or know for certain that she would be okay but she was a big girl and knew she could take care of herself.
“I’ll call you if it get bad. Promise.” She smiled, telling him before shutting the car door and heading inside. She appreciated the sentiment.
As Y/n entered her home it was silent, her mom being at work and all. It was only her and her mom and Y/n liked it that way. Plus being home alone after something like this was better. No one around to worry so much. Y/n was sure that Joyce would call her mom and tell her what happened. It was easier at times that Y/n's mom knew about the upside down. So Y/n went to the kitchen to grab a drink before she headed upstairs to her room.
“Holy Shit!” Y/n practically screamed as she jumped when entering her room to see Billy there on her bed watching t.v. Clenching her chest with her hand she asked. “How long have you been in my room?”
Billy shrugged, muting the television and resposting himself to be facing her in a sitting position instead of laying down. “A while. Where’ve you been?”
Y/n shrugged, using only one shoulder due to the painful throbbing in her other arm. “The Byers. Helping the kids.”
“For 6 hours?” he asked with raised brows. What could she have been doing over there for that long? Billy felt like she wasn’t telling him something. And that feeling happened often to him when she disappeared and was gone for so long. Especially if she was with those little brats his step sister hanged out with.
While Billy was thinking that Y/n was thanking her mom for the t.v. in her room, because Billy was distracted and didn't notice Steve was the one that dropped her off. That didn't need to be brought up at all right now.
“Uh, yeah. It was an emergency.” Y/n answered not really knowing how to answer. So she distracted herself by stripping off her jacket and then her shoes.
Suddenly Billy reached forward and grabbed her hand, gently pulling her closer. “What’s on your arm?”
‘Fuck’ Y/n thought. Moving her arm so much must have added pressure and pushed more blood out. Y/n thought she felt a tareing sensation. It was her blood wetting the goz. “Uh- bandages?”
Billy gave her a ‘I’m not stupid’ look, like ‘no shit’. “Why are there bandages on your arm?”
Normally it was Y/n who patched up Billy. Billy had never seen her with an injury like this before, let alone one that was bleeding fresh blood.
“We had to go out into the woods, and I got hurt.” It was the best she could explain it without also lying to him. Y/n hates lying to Billy, especially since he’s been so truthful with her.
“What did you do to yourself?” Billy asked, trying to get a better look but Y/n pulled her arm away. This just made Billy’s concern grow bigger. So Billy asked again, this time pleading with her. “Let me see your arm? Please?”
Y/n whipped her head to face him. “Hey! I got attached, I did not do this to myself.”
Billy smirked a little at how he got the truth out of her so simply.
“Oh damn you, Hargrove.” Y/n rolled her eyes at seeing his reaction. Damn him and knowing her so easily. But she also loved that about him. Y/n bit her lip trying to hold back her smile at what he could get out of her.
“Can I see your arm now?” he asked again, hoping she’ll let him see and examine it.
Y/n let out a sigh moving to sit next to him on her bed. Sitting at an angle so he could look at her arm.
“Damn it.” She let out a frustrated groan at seeing exactly how much blood had stained the goz. Now it is definitely gonna have to be changed before she went to bed. Y/n was hoping she wouldn't have to change it till the morning. Suddenly after looking at her arm Billy abruptly got up off the bed. Y/n followed him with her eyes confused. “Where are you going?”
Watching him leave the room filled her with worry. Was this to much for him? But after about 5 minutes he came back, entering her bedroom with ibuprofen, a coke, and had apparently dug through her bathroom for supplies to clean and change the bandages on her arm.
Y/n felt so heart warmed that he wanted to do this for her. But what if he changed his mind after actually seeing the wounds? Y/n knew it was just insecurities talking, Billy’s seen, done, and possibly had close to worse. “Billy, I can do this later-”
“You help me all the time, especially with this kind of thing. Will you just let me help you, for a change?” Billy said, cutting her off, looking her in the eyes. He wanted to take care of her, in all ways. And not just as a ‘returning the favor’ kind of thing. Billy turly cares for Y/n, hell he’d go as far as to say he loves her. Having only ever loved one other person in his life (his mom), this was special to him in ways he had a hard time expressing.
“Thank you.” Y/n smiled gratefully, dropping the whole ‘don’t need help’ facade.
“You're welcome.” Billy nodded, accepting her thanks.
“You know. I wish you’d let me in more so I could help you with other things.” he hinted to how he’d like to know what caused her disappearances for hours and the injuries she gets.
Y/n would love to tell him about everything, the upside down and Hawkins lab. But she also didn’t want to tell him. He had enough to worry about with his dad and she didn’t want him to get hurt. But it also wasn’t just her deasion. “If it was just my deascion you would be. An I’m trying. I really am but you haven’t made the best impression on the kids, Steve, Nacy, and Johnathan. Or Hopper. And they all have says in who knows as well.”
“What about Joyce?” Billy asked noticing that Y/n left out the older woman. Once he got the old goz off and started cleaning the blood off. Billy could see all the little puntucers, almost like teeth. But There were hundreds if not thousands. Billy couldn’t think of anything that could cause this.
“She saw us on a date a few months ago and doesn’t think you are how you seem. Which she is right.” Y/n explained telling him with a shy smile. That had been an awkward conversation with the woman, but she was supportive of the relationship. Which was appreciated.
“I hate that you got hurt. Y/n, those looked like teeth punctures, but not from something normal.” he sighed, trying not to show how worried it had indeed made him.
“I hate when you get hurt to.” she stated before letting out a deep breath. Y/n knew that this conversation was going to happen at some point. She shook her head, biting her lip. “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you what bit me.”
Billy had to nod in agreement that he probably wouldn’t believe it if he didn’t see it with his own eyes. “Then let me see it.”
Y/n’s head shot up right and her eyes filled with shock and panic. “What? So you can get hurt or possibly killed to?! No!”
“Why won’t you let me protect you?!” Billy questioned moving his focus to look her in the eyes, having finished wrapping her arm in new goz.
“You protect me plenty as it is.” Y/n agured back.
“I want to protect you from this to! Obviously no one else is.” Billy stressed, lifting his hand gesturing to her arm.
“You have no idea how much worse this.” Y/n raised her injured arm looking him in the eyes. “Could have been if any of them weren’t there. They do protect me.”
Billy shook his head. “Not enough for me, they don’t.”
“Billy-”
“I can’t lose you. You're too important to me.” he stated passionately, no longer yelling. Billy didn’t have much, he never has. But he has Y/n, and he didn’t plan on losing her, she means too much to him to let that happen.
Y/n took a shallow breath before scooting closer to Billy as the two sat on her bed, making it dip further. Y/n knew what Billy meant and she appreciated it. He means a lot to her too. She didn’t want to lose him either. “You're important to me too.”
“Let me be there next time. Then I have to be brought into the loop.” Billy shrugged, picking up Y/n’s none injured arms hand, intertwining their fingers. There had to be a way to let him into what was going on in the crappy town in Indiana.
“I don’t want to lose you either, and that chance increases if you are brought into this!” Y/n stressed as much as she could using her eyes and tone of voice. They’d lost enough people due to the Upside down, its creatures and Hawkins lab.
“I don’t plan on ever losing you or losing me.” He stated leaning in, resting his forehead against Y/n’s. “Besides, wouldn't it be safer for me to know so I can protect myself?”
Y/n sighed, he had a point. “I’ll talk to them tomorrow. Okay? But I can’t promise anything.”
Billy nodded in understanding. “I’ll find a way to protect you whether they say yes or not.”
“I know you will.” Y/n smiled, closing the gap with a kiss.
Yeah she’d talk with the others, but she knew it was gonna be a no. But she also knew that Billy wouldn’t give up. Not on this, not when it comes to her being there with him forever. It was endearing, even if she was afraid he’d get hurt.
Walker Scobell X Reader | Series | You Belong With Me🔱 Part 9
You were putting on your makeup planning on how to tell Walker about the movie. You can't just blurt it out. Hopefully he doesn't get too mad.
You were going to dinner with him and tell him then. You get dressed and leave.
-
"Hey" Walker says with a very happy smile getting up from his chair and kisses you
"Hi" You smile
He pulls your chair and you sit down
"Such a gentlemen" You smile
"I thought about moving it and letting you fall but lucky for you I decided not to" He jokes
"Oh well...thank you" You laugh
What Walker was wearing⬆️
The two of you order and talk. You think if you should tell him now or not. You don't want to ruin his dinner. After dinner I guess.
"Did I say you look stunning?" Walker asks
"No you did not" you blush
"Well you look stunning" He smiles at you
Such a beautiful smile
"Thank you" You blushed again
You eat dinner and you were eating dessert.
"After this do you wanna take a walk?" Walker asks looking up from his plate
"That's sounds great" you smile
That's when you'll tell him
-
The two of you were walking down main street. The lights of the little shops reflecting on the two of you.
"It's so pretty tonight" You say looking around
"Yeah it is. But you're prettier" He looks at you with pure love in his eyes
You blush as you stop and look in one of the windows. He then pulls you into a kiss. He was so warm to your cold lips. When he pulls away he notices you shiver.
"Are you cold?" He asks
"I'm fine don't worry" you assure him
"Here" He takes his jacket off and wraps it around your shoulders
"But then you'll be cold" You say appreciative but not wanting him to be cold
"Nah I'll be fine" He assures as he kisses you again
You walk a little long then sit down on a bench.
"So what's wrong?" He asks knowing somethings up
"What do you mean?" You ask innocently
"You've been acting weird since last night. So what's wrong?" He asks still holing you hand
"You're right I have been acting weird...." You take a deep breath as he looks you in the eyes so sweetly
"You can tell me anything" He reassures you
"I know. Last night when I got that phone call it wasn't my mom. It was Tom. He said that we just got the okay for another Thor movie and-" You get cut off by Walker who's face lit up
"That's wonderful y/n! I'm so happy for you!" He basically had the same face he had on when he found out he was going to be in Percy Jackson
"Thank you. There's a problem though. I have to leave in a few days because they didn't wanna mess with filming Percy Jackson. So I have to leave...and before you ask no you can't come. You have too much to do with Percy Jackson being renewed." You just blurt out
"Y/n...you shouldn't be sad" He said holding both your hands now, "you have told me a million times how much you loved filming those movies! This us a good thing! We can call eachother everyday and I'll be here when you get back. Don't sad" He reassures you
"You're not mad?" You ask looking up at him
"Why would I be mad? This is good. I mean of course I'm going to miss you but this is an amazing thing! Plus I get to watch my girlfriend in another Avengers movie" He smiles
"Oh Walker I love you" hug him so tight and he hugs you back even tighter
-
You get back to your house and we're saying goodnight.
"Sooo...when are you leaving?" Walker asks
"In a few days" You frown
"hey...don't be sad remember" He picks up your chin and softly kisses you
"I know" you smile a little
-
IN A FEW DAYS
You were packing last minute...of course. Walker was coming with you to the airport.
You heard the doorbell and ran as fast as you could. You opened the door and without slowing down you jumped in Walker's arms.
"Well. Hello to you too." He kissed you
"Hi" You say with a really bug smile on your face looking at him
He helps you with you luggage as you get in the car. He holds your hand the whole way there. When you get inside you grab some food from McDonald's. You just sit and talk. It was so nice. Then you noticed some flashes from outside the restaurant.
"Uggghhh" you groan as Walker turns around to see what you're looking at
"Great" He says sarcastically
You pretend like they are not there and continue eating and talking. Then it was 30 minutes until your flight.
"We should probably go" He said knowing you won't want to
"Yeah" you say getting up
You walk to the plane as the paparazzi follows you. Walker grabs your hand and makes some quick turns and you loose them.
"Well this is it" you say as you walk up to boarding area
"Don't make it sound so ominous" He laughs
"I'm gonna miss you so much" You say as he hugs you
"Me too" He says
When you pull away you you look at him and see something you haven't before. Sadness. His eyes had slight tears in them. Before you could get a better look he pulled you back into the hug. You buried your face in his neck.
"I love you so much" He whispered in your ear
"I love you too" You say softly
After about a 5 minute hug we both pull away. Not wanting to but we do. You start to walk on board but you are still holding onto his hand. You turn and he mouths "I love you" again. You do the same and slowly let go of his hand.
You get on the plane and sit down. A tear rolling down your face. You wipe it away and try to think about something else but you couldn't. It had been like 2 minutes and you already missed him so much.
"Miss would you like anything?" The lady asked you
"No thank you" You reply
"Is everything okay miss?" She asks again
"Yeah. Everything is fine." You say looking down at your hands
She nods and walks away. You try to watch something put you still couldn't get him out of your head.
He wouldn't want you to be like this. He would want you to be happy to be filming again. So you put a smile on your face and changed your how you thought about it. Instead of being sad that you had to leave Walker...you were happy that you got to play the character that Walker loved so much again.
After about an hour or two you fell asleep.
--Dream--
You were at your house sitting on your bed when Walker comes in your door in a tuxedo.
"Are you ready?" He asks
"For what?" You ask
"The wedding"
"Who's wedding?"
"Ours" He smiles and extends his hand
Cuts to wedding
You were walking down the aisle and you looked at Walker. He looked so handsome. You stand face to face and hand in hand. You say your vows and the preacher pronounces you husband and wife as you kiss.
"I love you" You say to eachother
--Dream end--
Your eyes flutter open. You wished you didn't wake up. You were happy in your dream.
"Can I get a sprite?" You ask the lady
"Of course" She smiles
You lay your head against your chair. Looking at the ceiling.
-
After a loooonnnnggggg plane ride you finally got there. You were greeted by Chris (Hemsworth) and Tom (Hiddleston). You faked a smile but you were tired after such a long plane ride of missing Walker.
"Hey sissy" Chris says and hugs you
"Hey sweat pea" Tom says hugging you too
"Hey" you yawn and hug them
"Arlight spill the tea girl...tell us the gossip" Chris says as you laugh
"Well..." You start as you get in the car
-
You get to the hotel and Chris and Tom were right next door. You were in the middle room. Your mom asked for that so you'd be safe.
"Do you want to go straight to sleep or are you hungry?" Tom asks
"I think I'll just go to sleep" You smile as he nods and closes the door behind him
As soon as the door shuts you grab you phone and call Walker.
Walkie Talkie💞
"Stop it Walker" you turn around and see Tom and Chris
You scream and roll off of the bed.
"Sorry did we scare you?" Tom chuckles as help you up off the ground
"Nah I scream and fall off of my bed all of the time." You say brushing yourself off
"We have to go to set. We are already late so be fast." Chris says
They leave and you get dressed
-
When you get to set you say hello to everyone. Then you get a text from Walker.
"Why are you smiling?" Tom asked walking up to you
"Walker texted me" You smile
"Oooo Walker" He gives you eyebrows
"Shut up" you say
You go to your trailer and immediately call Walker.
Walkie Talkie 💞
I would never
I know. I just texted it over to you.
Then I'll see you on the other side brother
Alright I yield! *trying to channel Chris' and Tom's accent
Loki?!
Hello sis. Have you missed me?
YOU LET ME BELIVE THAT YOU WERE
DEAD SO YOU COULD PRETEND TO BE
FATHER?!?!?
Maybe
*stare at him with fury in your eyes*
I'm sorry! I'm sorry!
Oh you're gonna be
Enough! Loki where's father?
and cut! That was awesome!
Those accents of yours were *laughs*
interesting
I'd like to see you do any better
I'm not stupid enough to try
You asked me to!
I expected you to be better
Oh ha ha ha *mocking voice*
(Someone outside: 2 minutes!)
ugh! I'm sorry Walker I have to go
Okay. I love you! I miss you!
me too!
--End Call--
You guys filmed all day. You were so tired. Your sleep schedule was so messed up from the time change.
"Are you hungry?" Tom asks you
"24/7" you reply
You were guys eat dinner then go home and you flop into bed.
------
Several weeks later
You were eating some chips waiting for your scene when Chris and Tom walk up behind you.
"Y/n. Someone is here to see you" Tom says and you can hear the smile in his voice
You turn and couldn't believe your eyes.
"WALKER!!" You run at him as fast as you could and wrap him in a bear hug
"I missed you so much" He says hugging you so tight
"I missed you more" You say muffled because your face was in his neck
"No way" He replies as you kiss
When you pull away you see Chris and Tom smiling. They were happy you were happy.
"Oh Chris, Tom this is Walker" you smile your arms still around him
"Walker this is Tom and Chris" You point to them
"Hello Walker we've heard A LOT about you" Tom shakes his hand
"She doesn't talk about anyone or anything else" Chris chuckles and shakes Walker's hand too
"Y/n! We are ready for you now!" Someone yells to you
"Nooo! But you just got here!" You whine
"It's okay! What scene are you filming?" Walker asks practically knowing the whole plot because...well you told him.
"We (you, Chris and Tom) are doing a fight scene. You know with the guards"
"Ooo! A fight scene huh? Can I watch?" He asks
"Yes!" You exclaim
-
"3, 2, 1 ACTION!" The director yells
"Turn here!" You yell to your brothers
"No here! You're going the wrong way!" Loki says as he turns into the hallway and there are 10 guards who look at him
"Nice going Loki" Thor says in annoyance
One runs at you. You dodge the punch and knee him in the stomach. You kick him into the wall and punch him in the face. He falls to the ground as you suddenly get picked up from behind you. He throws you into the wall. When you look up there are 3 guards looking down at you. You stand up and pull your swords (you can summon them like Loki because he taught you magic when you were little).
You block a sword. And kick the other guard. You slice the other guards shoulder. You kick him in the stomach and he stumbles back. You defeat one. Just two more. They back you into the wall and hold their swords to you. One swings their sword at you but it goes right through. It was a magical illusion. You pick up a pipe that was just sitting there for no reason and hit the two guards. Then you get hit in the back of the head and fall to the ground. You turn and see a guard about to swing at you. But he disappears in a green smoke. You turn to see Loki waving his hand.
"Thank you" You say out of breath and Loki nods to you
"But it was your fault we went down that hallway anyway" you say as Loki rolls his eyes
"CUT" the director yells
You immediately look at Walker and he was amazed
"That was sooo cool!" He said smiling so wide as you come up to him
"You did so many fight scenes for Percy Jackson that were way cooler than this" you shrug
"hey! That was very cool!" Tom complains
-
You just got back to the hotel.
"What room are you in?" You ask
"This hotel was booked so I'm going to stay in one a couple blocks down" Walker says
"What?! No! Do you want to stay in my room? It's got two beds." You say hopeful he will say yes
"I don't want to bother you! I'll be okay" He reassures you
"No! You won't bother me! Please stay! We can play games!" You exclaim
"As long as I don't bother you" He says
"You could never bother me" You smile
You go inside and order some Chick fil a from Doordash.
"So...how long can you stay?" You ask nervously
"A few days. I wish u could stay longer" He replies sweetly
"I'm just happy you're here!" You kiss him
"Do you want to play with my Nintendo?" You ask him
"Yeah!" He exclaims as you start to set up
You were playing Super Mario Smash Bros when the food got there.
"I'll go get it" He says getting up
He sets the food down and takes a sip if your milkshake.
"You're only getting away with that because I missed you so much" You say while he is still drinking it
"Okay! I didn't miss you that much!" You snatch it from him
A/n: The scenes are a little different because you're in it. I hope you like this chapter! If you do please like and comment! Thank you so much for reading!!💙💙
An eventful holiday - Thea Queen x Male!reader
A/N: based off the 1x09 holiday episode because I've started a DC show rewatch and forgot how much of a crush I used to have on Thea
When Oliver came back from the dead he had a lot of new things he had to adjust to, one of the hardest being that his little sister who was only twelve the last time he saw her was now seventeen with a boyfriend.
He wanted an opportunity to bring his family closer after learning they stopped celebrating Christmas when he and his father went missing so Oliver planned a big Christmas party to make up for lost time.
However he didn't expect you to be invited as Thea's plus one.
He, Thea, Moira and Walter just got their photo taken when you walk in holding a bouquet of flowers.
"Hi, uh Thea invited me," you say seeing the angry look on Oliver's face, "Mrs. Queen these are for you."
You hand Moira the flowers and she thanks you, Thea kissing you on the cheek and showing you to the food table.
"I didn't get a chance to tell you how amazing you look tonight," you smile, grabbing a christmas cookie and taking a bite of it.
"You clean up pretty nice yourself," she says, drinking a glass of champagne and taking in the sight of you in your suit.
"Well I wanted to impress your brother, I don't think he likes me very much," you admit.
"Because he doesn't know you and he still doesn't want to believe I'm not a little kid anymore," she tells you.
"Maybe we should hang out sometime, just the three of us so he and I can actually get to know each other," you suggest.
"You're putting in a lot of effort to get the approval of my brother," she chuckles.
"That's because I love you, I want him to know that I'm serious about us and would never do anything to hurt you."
Thea smiles and kisses you sweetly, putting her empty glass down on the table, "I love you too and I think we should go upstairs for some privacy so I can give you your christmas present."
"But we exchanged gifts already," You say confused as you and Thea had a small get together with your family a few days prior.
"This is the part of your gift that I couldn't give you in front of your parents," she grins.
You had no idea what was in store for you but you quickly down a glass of champagne as she takes your hand and guides you towards the stairs.
Oliver sees this and glares at you, about to follow you two with intentions of kicking you out of the party but his mother puts her hand on his shoulder to stop him.
"Let them be Oliver," Moira says calmly.
"You're really okay with what they are going to do up there?" Oliver huffs.
"They are young and in love, in case you've forgotten your father and I tried to stop you sneaking around with girls when you were their age and yet you still always found a way," she chuckles.
"She's not ready to be in a relationship this serious," Oliver states.
"And you were?" Moira laughs, "you have to accept that Thea is not the same twelve year old she was when you left."
"Excuse me mom, I need to get some air," Oliver sighs, heading to the front door.
Meanwhile upstairs you are sitting on Thea's bed as she locks her door, sauntering towards you and climbing in your lap.
"Go ahead and unzip my dress," she says and you reach up, pulling the zipper down her chest to reveal the black lacy bra she has underneath.
"Wow," you mutter, the top of her dress falling off her shoulders and bunching around her waist.
"You like it?" She asks it.
"You are so beautiful Thea," you say putting your hands on her waist and kissing her deeply.
The kiss intensifies, Thea slipping your suit jacket off and tossing it to the floor before unbuttoning your shirt.
You pick her up and flip her over, letting her get comfortable against the pillows.
Thea moans softly as you kiss down her neck and along her chest while pulling her dress the rest of the way off her body exposing the lacy black panties that matched her bra.
"Merry Christmas Y/N," she says, biting her lip.
"This just may be the best gift I've ever received," you mutter, your lips traveling along her stomach which results in her hips rocking up for any form of friction.
You spend a while exploring her body and working her up, fully enjoying your gift, your fingers are gently rubbing her over the lace and her arousal is starting to soak through the material so you finally rid her of it.
You stand up and remove the rest of your clothes as well but look around, "Wait where's my jacket?"
You spot it on the floor and dig around in the inside pocket pulling a condom out.
"Were you expecting to get laid tonight?" Thea teases as she lifts her chest up to unclip her bra and tosses it aside.
"Not at all but it's always better to be prepared right," you chuckle, taking the condom out and rolling it on.
You reposition yourself back on top of her, spreading her legs apart and settling in between them.
Thea gasps when you ease the tip of your cock inside her, slowly pushing it the rest of the way in.
"Does this feel okay?" You ask and she nods.
You give a few rolls of your hips so she has a chance to adjust before you find a more steady rhythm.
She throws her head back, her chest in the air so you take the opportunity to nip at her neck and collarbones.
"Just like that," she moans, grasping at the sheets under her.
After a few minutes she feels her release approaching and reaches down, rubbing firm circles over her clit.
"I'm so close," she groans.
"Me too," you grunt, picking up the pace.
With just a few more thrusts Thea is cumming, her walls tightening around your cock and her eyes rolling back.
Seeing her like this takes you over the edge as well, riding out your highs together.
After cleaning yourselves up you're blissfully laying naked in her bed, a sheet loosely around your waists with her head on your chest when there's an urgent knocking on her door.
"Thea make yourself decent quickly, Diggle just called and Oliver's been in a motorcycle accident we need to go to the hospital right away," her mother says through the door with an obvious worry in her voice.
"Oh my god," Thea says, jumping out of bed and grabbing her clothes off the floor.
"Hey, what can I do for you?" You ask trying to comfort her as you both get redressed.
Thea opens her door surprised to see her mom is still standing there.
"Y/N you can help by seeing our guests out after we leave," Moira says.
"Of course Mrs. Queen," you say awkwardly, pulling your suit jacket on and kissing Thea's forehead before heading downstairs.
"Walter is bringing the car around," Moira says as they follow suit, "and Thea dear fix your dress, I do hope you two were using protection in there."
"Mom now is not the time for that!" Thea yelps in embarrassment realizing her dress is still half unzipped.
Well this certainly was the most eventful holiday Thea has had in a long time.
Toxic!Ellie x reader
Toxic!ellie x reader
a/n reader is a little uhh dumb? Idk but she's cute. I like her. I LOVE toxic!ellie so I had to whip something up for her. Thinking bout making some more fics based on these two if y’all like them enough !!
You let out a sigh as you looked down at your phone. You were supposed to be going on a date with some girl named Sam, but she just bailed on you. Luckly she had the decency to let you know before you left your dorm instead of just outright standing you up at the bar.
“What? She stood you up?” Ellie looked up at me from her where she was sitting on her bed. She was in the midst of rolling up. She tried to convince you to stay in with her but you had told her about Sam. Plus y’all have been getting too close. You had to remind yourself that you two were just friends/roommates and nothing more.
You looked up at her, “Nah, just my mom texting me saying she misses me.” You couldn't tell Ellie that Sam bailed. She would've given you shit for it. She would've been like ‘I told you so, now you can stay with me.’
“Hm, okay.”
You looked at the time. 8:30. Looks like you were going to go to the bar by yourself to make some new friends. You pushed yourself off your bed. “Alright Els, I’m out. I’ll see you later, yeah?”
She quickly got off her bed. “Wait, what time are you going to be back? I can wait up for you. I’m not going to be doing anything tonight besides smoke.” You missed the way her eyes trailed down your body. You decided to go with a short skin tight black dress that really enunciated your curves. You bent down to pick up your purse off of the ground. Ellie's eyes followed your every move. “It’s alright Els, go to sleep. I’ll be fine. If anything happens I’ll text you alright?” You walked up to her and gave her a hug. “Goodnight Els.”
“Have fun babes.”
—----------------------------------------------------------
Going by yourself to a bar was so not fun. You didn’t know anyone. You sat at the bar and ordered a drink for yourself. Looking around the room you noticed a girl staring at you. She was taller than you and had blonde hair but it was pulled back into a braid. She also looked muscular. Basically she looked delicious. You weren't sure what you should do. Usually no one tries anything with you when you go out because you're always with Ellie. You smiled at the girl across the room and looked back at the bar. A couple seconds later you felt someone's arm touch yours.
“Yeah, I’ll take a beer and one more of whatever she got.” She nods her head towards you.
You tell the bartender your drink order and blushed at the girl next to you.
“Thank you for that. I was just about to order another one. It’s like you read my mind.” You told the girl.
She looked at you and smiled, “Well I guess I came at the right time huh? Almost like I was meant to come over here and talk to you.” She flirts.
You gave her a shy smile and stuck your hand out. “I’m y/n.”
“I’m Abby, pleasure to meet you.”
—--------------------------------------------------------------
“Ellie, what the fuck, I thought you said that y/n wasn’t going out anymore? I thought you told Sam to back off?” Dina tells Ellie over the phone.
Ellie immediately gets up from her spot on the bed. “The fucks going on? I did tell Sam to back off. y/n lied to me about what Sam said because she still went out. I assumed she would cruise around the city and then come back? What the fuck is she doing at the bar?” Ellie starts to put on her shoes and looks around the room for her keys. She couldn’t believe that y/n was ballsy enough to go to a bar by herself. All because she didn’t want Ellie to know the truth.
Dina laughed, “Yeah well looks like your plan went to shit because Abby is at the bar right now talking to her.”
Ellies blood ran cold, “Abby fucking Anderson?”
“Yep, she's here. And I think she wants to take your girl. You better get down here.”
—------------------------------------------------------------
“You’re so pretty. I’m glad we started talking.” Abby says.
You blushed and looked down at your drink. “Yeah me too. Do you wanna go somewhere after this? Like to talk, of course. I really want to get to know you.”
“Yeah lets go right now? I have my own apartment I can take you to? If you don’t have a place in mind.” She put her hand on the small of your back.
You smiled at her touch. “Yeah let’s go.”
“y/n hey!” Someone called out to you.
You looked over your shoulder and saw Ellie’s friend, Dina. Fuck, you thought. If Dina’s here then that definitely means Ellie is close by. Those two told each other everything. You love Dina, truly, but you knew that she was Ellie’s friend over yours. They would always take each other's side whenever something happens. When you and Ellie get in arguments, Dina wouldn't even hear you out. She would just tell you to apologize to Ellie and everything will go back to normal. She was always on her side. That annoyed the fuck out of you.
You put on a smile. “Dina! Hey! How long have you been here?” You reached out to hug her.
“Been here long enough to notice that you're hanging with Abby.” She fake laughs. “Does Ellie know that you're here? With her?” She points towards Abby.
I pulled Abby’s hand in mine. “Ellie is not in charge of me, Dina. She’s my roommate, not my girlfriend.” I glared at Dina.
“C'mon Abby let’s go.” We walked out of the bar and went to her car.
Once we were seated in her car she immediately pulled out of the parking lot.
“So is Ellie your ex or something?”
You looked at her. “No actually, she’s really just my roommate. And my bestfriend but recently she’s been pissing me off.”
“How so?”
“Basically she likes to act like she’s in charge of me. And Dina, from the bar? Ellie and Dina grew up with each other so they obviously have each other’s back. Dina was just tryna to start shit to scare me.”
“Why would she try to scare you?”
“Because she likes to think that Ellie and I are dating. Which we’re not by the way. I just want to make that really clear because I like you Abs.”
Abby smiles at you. “I like you too. I really hope Ellie doesn't start some shit with us. She already has her guard dog out for us.”
“I love Dina. But I don’t love when Dina and Ellie are together. Together they’re like dictators or something. It’s so annoying.”
“Well when we get to my place it’ll be just you and me. We can do whatever you want. No dictators around my place.” Abby pulls into her parking spot and you both get out of her car. As soon as you step foot into her place your phone starts ringing. You sigh. “It’s Ellie.” You tell Abby.
“You gonna take it?”
“I feel like I have to. Or else she’ll just keep calling until I answer.”
Abby steps in front of you. “If you need me I’ll be in the kitchen alright?”
You smile at her and then take a seat on her couch.
You answer your phone. “Yes Ellie?”
“Where the fuck are you?” She spits at you.
“Oh my gosh I’m hanging with a friend. I thought you knew I was going out?”
“Don’t act fucking stupid y/n. Dina told me that you’re with Abby. I thought you were going out with Sam?”
I let out a laugh. “Oh did your guard dog tell you what I was up to? Tell her to worry about herself.”
“Guard dog?” You heard her mumble. “Dina? Are you fucking talking about Dina?”
“Yes Ellie, I’m talking about Dina. Who else is up your ass 24/7?” You snarled.
“Okay fine, I’ll let your disrespectful ass behavior slide just this once. Only because she told me that you’ve had some to drink. Now tell me where you're at so I can come get you.” You heard her car keys jingle in the background.
“Ugh Ellie stay home. I’m not coming home tonight. I’m staying with Abby. I’ll see you tomorrow after classes or something.” You could already feel a headache coming on to you.
“Fuck that. You're not staying over there, you hear me? Come the fuck home.”
“No Ellie, stay home. Goodnight.”
“Don’t you fucking hang up on me.” That was the last thing you heard Ellie say before you hung up. You hate when she acts like this. So possessive. You let out a sigh of relief. You’ll just have to deal with her tomorrow.
—------------------------------
*The next day*
You just got out of your last class of the day and you were nervous to see Ellie. After the phone call you and Abby stayed up and talked for an hour then you fell asleep in her bed. The next morning you got up and showered and left with her phone number in her phone. You only had two classes today and then you would have to go back to your doom room. Ellie has been calling you nonstop and Dina has been glaring at you in every class that you shared. You felt bad but you also didn’t appreciate her snitching on you.
You opened up the door and surprisingly Ellie wasn’t there. Which is weird considering that she knows your schedule like the back of her hand. Whatever. At least now you can rest a bit before she starts yelling at you. You changed into some comfy clothes and laid down on your bed. A little nap shouldn’t hurt. You fell asleep as soon as your back touched your bed.
—-----------------------------------------------------
You woke up to your phone ringing beside you. You slowly turned on your side and grabbed it. It was Abby. You decided to let it ring because you still felt hazy. You started to close your eyes again.
“Oh I’m surprised you didn’t pick up.” Ellie said from her bed.
You stayed silent.
“Oh so you're just not gonna say anything?”
You heard Ellie get up from her bed and start walking towards you.
“I’m not stupid y/n, I know you’re awake.” She grabbed your arm and pulled your body so now you were facing her while still laying down.
“Ellie stop, I don’t want to do this right now.” You grumbled.
“Okay so when can we do this then? Cuz you were way out of line last night. First, you pissed me off, then you hurt Dina’s feelings by the way. Then you spend the night at Abby’s? Are you fucking insane?”
“Look, I’m sorry I said bad things about Dina but I’ll apologize to her later-”
“Yeah you will.” She interrupts you.
You glare at her. “But anyways, I was having fun last night and it felt like Dina was trying to get in the way of that okay? Why did you get so mad anyways? You knew I was going out.” You pointed out.
She scoffs, “I knew you were going out with Sam. Who told me that she canceled on you by the way. So you lied to me in the end. Also, why the fuck would you go out with Abby fucking Anderson?”
You groaned, “Okay fine I lied to you about going out with Sam. I didn’t tell you because it was really embarrassing. Especially since you told me to be careful about her because she always pulls this stuff. I didn’t want you telling me that you were right all along.”
Her face softens, “hey, I’m your best friend. You’re supposed to tell me this stuff. I would never judge you like that. I wish you would’ve told me babes.”
You sit closer to her, “You’re right Els, I’m sorry. I guess I also just wanted to prove to myself that I can go out by myself and have fun. I feel like I’m always following you around.”
“But I like it when you follow me around.” She smiles. “Seriously, I follow you around too. You’re my favorite person.” She grabs both of your hands and puts them around her shoulders. “You’re never gonna get rid of me babes. It’s always me and you.” She kissed you on your forehead.
You smiled at her. It really felt nice when Ellie was nice to you. You wish she was like this all the time.
“‘M sorry Els, I won’t lie to you anymore.”
She hums, “Good, now why don’t you pull out your phone yeah? And you can text Dina a nice little message about how sorry you are about how you treated her and especially about what you called her.”
You whip out your phone, “Okay Els.” You start typing a message to Dina and let Ellie help you with what to say.
After you sent that message you both laid down on your bed cuddling. Even though you and Ellie are just friends, it is nice to be so close to her. Her hand starts rubbing up and down your back. “You know, while we’re at it, why don’t you tell me about what’s going on with you and Abby yeah?”
You groaned, “Ellieeeee, but we’re having such a nice time relaxing. I don’t want you to get worked up right now.”
“I won’t get worked up if nothing happened.”
“Okay.”
She looks down at where your head is resting on her chest, “Okay?”
You giggled, “Okay nothing happened! We just talked and I fell asleep and I went to class. Promise. That’s it.”
She hums, “Alright, I believe you. Now, let’s watch a movie. I missed you.”
1 - Coming Back Home
Part 2
Eclipse of the Heart
Tag list ( just ask to be added ) @melvia-ito @kmc1989 @tallrock35
Opening the backside door of my truck eyeing the objects laying in the seat in front of me. Yanking the zipper of my duffel bag open I sighed seeing wooden stakes, wooden arrows and some vervain darts inside of it. The only double life I have ever known.
"You cock the barrel like this, point at the heart and shoot." My mother explained to me by cocking a handgun in her hands right in front of me.
My father was watching my younger sister Caroline at home allowing her time to take me down to the firing range and no one would question because she was the town Sheriff. "Why isn't Caroline learning this too, mom?"
"Because she's far too young for it, Jaid." She answered my question tucking some loose strands behind my ear that had come out of my ponytail.
I nodded understanding her response. "Do I have to do this?"
"It's the only way I know you'll be able to protect yourself when I can't always be there." She said back to me offering out the handgun in her hands for me to take from her.
Sucking in a breath I picked it up feeling the cold metal touching my fingers. Wrapping my fingers completely around the gun I aimed it at the target down the range. "One…two…three." I muttered to myself doing my best to keep my eyes open when I fired it off.
"That's fairly good for your first time." The target paper came up with a push of a button so we could both see the end result. My mother grasped a hand on my shoulder when I lowered the gun looking at her, the small smile gone in an instant. "Now do it again and again until you don't miss."
Slinging the duffel bag over my shoulder I closed the truck door and headed up to our front door. Walking upstairs to my old bedroom I knew I had a whole backseat to unpack but it didn't matter right now. I couldn't stay at college knowing that our mother had probably already been teaching my sister about the supernatural like she did me.
I loved my mother, don't get me wrong. But the day I turned sixteen she decided to tell me the truth about what the council was hiding from the rest of the town. The truth that vampires still existed.
Stuffing the bag in my closet I heard someone coming so I slipped a small stake underneath my pant leg and a heart necklace with some vervain inside hanging around my neck. Shrugging a red leather jacket on I hid the jewelry underneath my shirt before someone entered my bedroom. "Jaid-o-raid, I can't believe you're home!"
"Care Bear!" I squealed, spinning around on my feet seeing my sister standing in the doorway. We both ran over to one another and embraced in a tight yet warm hug after being apart for so long.
She finally broke the hug holding onto my forearms. "I can't believe you're home. Wait, did I miss family weekend so you came all this way to see me?"
"No you didn't miss anything. I just felt that I needed to be home. Plus I've missed you bunches." I shrugged my shoulders through part of a lie. She didn't know that I was terrified that our mother had already turned her into a hunter.
She grinned brightly at me. "Well I'm glad you're home. And since you are, you should come to the back to school bonfire tonight."
"I technically don't think I'm allowed since I'm not in high school anymore."
My younger sister slightly rolled her eyes. "That doesn't matter. You're my sister. Plus they'll be booze and hot guys there."
"Hmm fine. But only for a little bit." I caved and she giggled before we spent a few hours before it would get dark and then we went out to the bone fire.
But this didn't last long and we ended up at the Grill for drinks. Caroline and Bonnie were sitting at one of the tables and I was sitting up at the bar sipping on a Bourbon.
"Are you sober yet?" The Bennett girl asked her friend.
My sister put her face in her hands. "No…why didn't he go for me?"
"Can I get another drink please?" I waved the bartender over with my empty drink cup before he came over and took it from me. Resting my chin in the palm of my hand I eyed my sister who looked like she was about to cry again.
Bonnie pushed water across the table to her. "Keep drinking. I gotta get you home. I gotta get me home."
"Why didn't he go for me? You know, how come the guys that I want never want me?" Caroline laid her head down on the table having a pity party over the new guy Stefan Salvatore choosing one of her best friends over her.
Bonnie held her hands up in surrender. "I'm not touching that."
"I'm inappropriate. I always say the wrong thing. And... Elena always says the right thing. She doesn't even try! And he just picks her. And she's always the one that everyone picks, for everything. And I try so hard, and... I'm never the one." My sister runs her fingers through her blonde hair.
Bonnie sighed at her. "It's not a competition, Caroline."
Caroline sniffed through some tears "Yeah, it is."
"Keep the change." I put some cash on the bar top, finishing the second Bourbon that I had ordered and going over to my sister. Touching my sister's arm I tugged her up from the chair. "Hey, we should be getting home. Bonnie, can you take her home? I'll follow behind you and try to sober her up before our mom gets back."
She nodded, holding onto her friends arm walking out of the bar. "Sure."
Heading out the door the wind blew my hair in front of my eyes. I could feel someone was standing behind me where I reached inside of my jacket drawing out a smaller stake spinning around on my boots. "Back off, buddy." I snapped at the guy who had bright blue eyes and black hair from the looks of it under the light of the moon.
"Hmm you're the first human I've come across who was smarter enough to be armed." They guy smirked down at me shoving me against my truck passenger door.
I nearly dropped the wooden stake on the concrete staring into his eyes. "I'm not a typical human. I know what the hell you are."
"Then say it if you're not afraid." He teased me.
"Vampire." I muttered back to him.
He revealed his fangs and I saw black veins appearing underneath his eyes. "Too bad I'm going to kill you now." He bent his head to the side, fangs fully extended out now getting closer to my neck until I knee him in the crotch.
The vampire groaned and fell down on his knees giving me the opportunity to bolt and run away from him towards Bonnie's car but I couldn't find it meaning she must've already left. "Shit!"
"Shit is right, bitch." The guy forced himself to his feet causing me to spin on my toes to face him. I reached down towards the other stake in my boot but he sped towards me, throwing me down onto the parking lot ground.
I grunted squirming under his hands but he was much stronger than I was. He moved one hand underneath the back of my shirt, finding the sleep dart I had tucked away in there. "I think that's enough fight you for a while." His grip loosened as my eyes got heavy and I passed out on the concrete.
Blinking my eyes open I groaned, twisting my neck feeling sore from whatever I had been injected with. Beginning to look around the room all I could see was mostly darkness except for the dime light in the corner of the room. "You've got to be kidding me...urgh!" I attempted to get up off the stone floor but I got yanked down where I winced.
My wrists were bound to the ground with metal chains keeping me trapped. Footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs where I whipped my head around before a large metal door creaked open. "I would've thought you would have been an easier grab."
"Typically when someone gets abducted they do fight back. Now who the hell are you!"
The figure kept walking until they reached me. The first thing I noticed about him was his bright blue eyes. "Well don't worry in a few minutes you won't remember how we met."
"You can't compel me. I have vervain - where's my necklace!" I gasped looking down to see it wasn't around my neck anymore.
He lifted his hand to tilt my chin up. "I already figured that out. Now I noticed that you're hanging around with that other blonde. Who is she?"
"My sister. We're the sheriff's daughters." I answered his question when his eyes dilated and I cursed in my head that he had just compelled me.
He clicked his tongue, introducing himself. "I'm Damon. Damon Salvatore. Nice to meet you, hunter Forbes."
"I didn't ask for your name but thanks." I sarcastically remarked attempting to once again break free from the handcuffs. "Now if you're gonna kill me get on with it."
Damon moved one hand to the side of my face while his Raven black hair slightly fell in front of his eyes. "Oh I do plan on killing you. But not until you help me with something first."
"I'll never help you, vampire!" I bared my teeth snarling at him.
Damon held my face in his hands compelling me for the second time where I parted my mouth opened having no choice but to listen to him. "You'll want to help me. You'll not hate me. You will find me attractive and have me be your boyfriend." He released my face where I lowered my gaze to the stone floor beginning to feel something different going on about myself.
✧CHAPTER 5✧
About a week past, the two enemies had full fledged fights downstairs, but didn’t scream or shout so much due to there being a baby in the house. No one suspected a thing as the 2 came to school as per usual, knowing that the baby is safe with the maid. However, Yunjin did find out about their baby secret, and decided to support y/n’s choice, seeing how genuine the girl was.
Y/n smiled as she rocked the little baby, Yunjin helping her put some shopping in the car’s boot. “Y/n? Yunjin- I- aww who’s this little cutie~” Jake sang as he poked the baby’s cheek, Riki stood right behind Jake, rolling his eyes when he saw y/n “Uh me and Yunjin had a baby together-” y/n said as Yunjin frowned, turning to face her .
“Gurl. I’m way too old to date you- let alone have a baby with you” Yunjin pointed out. “Ha… haha! You believed it for a sec- nah I’m just watching over this little one for a relative” y/n said as Jake understandingly nodded. “Hyung. I don’t want to be here.” Riki said as Jake rolled his eyes “Kay ima drag him away before another fight starts” Jake said walking away with the taller male.
Sighing, y/n gently placed the 5 month old in her carrycot, making sure it was securely strapped to the car seat. Yunjin started driving as y/n sat in the back with the baby. “Y/n… what would you do if the baby’s an orphan?...” Yunjin asked as the girl frowned. “I’ll adopt it.” she simply said as Yunjin glanced up at the mirror, “Huh- why not leave her at an orphanage with other kids?” she asked as the girl played with the baby’s hands.
“I don’t want to… She deserves to have at least someone in her life who she can run to and count on knowing that the person whom she trusts doesn't get paid to be a Guardian… plus the luckiest kids there do end up getting adopted. Didn’t I?” y/n asked as she looked in the mirror, Yunjin’s view now on the road ahead. “Well you didn’t exactly get the best parents… If anything you’re lucky Sunoo’s your brother.” She pointed out as the girl smiled.
“But this baby girl won’t have to worry about landing in a bad family… she has me… I’ll remind her she’s always beautiful, and I won’t let a single soul hurt her” y/n said with a smile as she stared down at the baby. “I’d be more like a best friend than a mother” she added as the baby cooed, gripping onto her finger, softly. Yunjin didn’t bother trying to reason with the girl, she heaved a sigh and continued driving them home.
“So Sunoo’s paying you to babysit y/n? Why not Jay?” Jake asked as Riki groaned “Stop asking so many questions… I just need to stay out of my house and out of dad’s sight for a while, okay?” Riki said, hearing this, Jake didn’t bother asking any follow up questions. “Damn she has a fancy ass greenhouse? How’d she afford that?” Jake asked, as he stared outside, into the garden. “Assuming Sunoo bought it- there’s a shit ton of butterflies inside-” Riki said as he went to the fridge and grabbed himself a beer can.
“Time away from your dad and free alcohol, no wonder you wanted to stick around in this place.” Jake said as Riki snickered, throwing the male a can. “The best stuff is in her bedroom-” Riki said with a smirk as Jake gave him a rather horrified look “Not that you dirty minded shit. She has weed-” Riki said as Jake rolled his eyes “Anyways, the girls are on their way back, you best get going. I’ll see you at the race track tonight, yeah?” Riki said as Jake got up to leave. “I still don’t think you should be racing…” Jake trailed off, concern somewhat evident in his voice.
Not too long later, y/n arrived with the baby, the tiny little girl, safely in her arms, as she walked around the room, rocking her gently. Riki’s eyes fixed on the 2 girls. “I got a call from the police regarding the baby… they found her mom” Riki said as y/n turned to him “They did? Where is she? Is she-” “They found her body… someone murdered her.” Riki explained, cutting of y/n’s questions. “Oh… did they find her father?” she asked, hugging the baby closer to herself “He’s their suspect… they found his DNA on the butchers knife used to chop up her limbs… and he fled the country…” Riki added as the girl stared in horror.
“Yeah… you might have to take her to the orphanage after all” Riki simply said as he got up, stretching. “No. I’m keeping her…” y/n said as Riki frowned “You’re seventeen y/n. Be for real.” Riki said as the girl shrugged “I mean I took good care of her all this time didn’t I?” she asked as Riki scoffed “No- you had me to help you out, when I leave, you will end up hurting the poor thing.” Riki simply said as the girl ignored him. “Since when have I ever listened to you Nishimura?...” she simply asked, the baby now asleep on her chest.
“Fuck you’re so annoying Kim y/n… can’t believe I have to be stuck under the same roof as you.” Riki mumbled, as he glared at the girl. Heck he wondered why he even bothered to help her all this time, he hates her, he hates her with pure passion. He really does… does he?....
Rebirth - Ch.4 :
Greek Gods/Goddess
Word Count : 2.5
Summary: A little dispute might be over, possibly.
No beta read.
Two days had passed with Aurora riding with Bella, Aurora semi ignoring Jasper's presences, and apparently Edward Cullen M.I.A. which was deiving Bella crazy.
As the two pulled up to school on Thrusday, Bella was begging Aurora to ask Jasper about Edward. "Please, please, Aurora. Just this tiny favor for a friend?" She put her hands together, begging. Aurora rolled her eyes, dramatic.
"I'm still barely talking to him, Bella. It would be weird to suddenly bring up his brother."
"What about Alice? She's your friend right and his sister?"
"I guess. Ugh, okay, I'll try to slip into a conversation with either during classes."
"Thank you, I could kiss you."
Aurora side-eyed her, "Yeah, maybe don't say that since our parents probably going out with each other tonight."
The two got out of the car, "You really think so?"
"My mom working late the same day your dad is? Plus, we saw them out in the driveway. There was definitely chemistry and talking."
Bella nodded, "Hopefully it goes well. I like being over at yours and if it bombed ... it would be awkward, but if it goes well..." she wiggled her eyebrows. Aurora shook her head.
Just as she was about to speak, Alice appeared. "Hi guys!"
Aurora smiled, as did Bella. "Hey Alice." She gave them a hug and squealed.
"Prom is only a few months away. You two are going right?"
They shared a look. "Um, sure." "I don't know."
Alice waved them off, "Of course you are. So I was thinking -"
She was cut off at the bell. She rolled her eyes. "Well, anyway, I'll talk to you guys at lunch. You should sit with us!" She left before getting a response.
"I have to talk to a teacher during lunch, so you're on your own, Aurora."
Aurora rolled her eyes, "Sure you do. How convenient."
"Yes, it is. Oh, don't forget to ask." Aurora rolled her eyes once again but nodded and waved, and they parted ways. Aurora took a seat in AP spanish, and Jasper was already sitting. The teacher droned on and on, asking random questions throughout the class and having the students write their answers in on paper to turn in after class.
"So are you done with the silent treatment, miss princess?" asked a whispering Jasper.
Aurora ignored him and failed miserably. She couldn't help but steal glances at him, his perfect hair, perfect smile, and just his perfect-ness. If she didn't like him, it would annoy her, more than it already does.
"Come on, you said all was forgiven. I even went on my knees -"
"Okay. Please shut up about that." She whispered furiously. "It sounds wrong when you say it like that." She muttered to herself, except Jasper still heard her.
Jasper gave a wicked grin, "So that's what I need to say to get your attention, that I was on my knees for you?"
Aurora was flushed. 'Please, for the love of christ, Lord, please make him stop.' She begged in her head, but alas, her pray was ignored.
"Okay, please stop saying that. Yes, you are forgiven."
The bell rang, and the teacher sighed. The pair got up as the teacher said the homework that they needed their partners help on, getting to know your seat mate. Apparently, the teacher likes to swap seats half way throught the semester to do "fun" activities for this.
She sighed, and he grinned. "Come on, let's go to history together." They sat in every class together since the other students were either too scared or to in awe of with him to take that empty seat each class.
The pair walked down the hall. "So what's it gonna take for you to talk to me, darlin?"
Aurora shrugged, "You've apologized and are forgiven. What else is there to talk about?"
"Oh, that hurt, Miss Princess. I want to get to know you. Plus, I still have your sketchbook." Aurora had completely forgotten about that. With Bella coming over and still settling into the house and doing the assignments, she hadn't had time to sketch.
"And you're barely saying that now? The last 3 days there wasn't any moment at any given time of aaalll the classes we have together for you to say that and return it."
"I wanted to, but you've been ignoring me."
Aurora narrowed her eyes. "Okay, well, you can give it to me now," she said as they sat down for history.
"Can no do princess, I forgot it at home." He shook his head solemnly.
She wanted to punch his perfect face. "Okay, how about this? You'll come over today to get that assignment over and done with, and you bring the book when you come over."
They made eye contact, and he smiled. "Sounds perfect darlin'." Aurora huffed out air, 'No getting lost in his eyes.'
"How about I just take you home then?"
"Fine, I'll tell Bella." Jasper nodded.
"So..."
"Yes, darlin," she got goose bumps.
"Where's your brother, Edgard, or um Edwardo or whatever it is?" Aurora waved a dismissive hand at the struggle to remember his name.
Jasper gave a deep chuckle, "It's Edward, and why? Who wants to know?" There was a flicker of jealousy that passed through Jasper.
"I do. I noticed he's not with your siblings when you guys eat lunch. I'm just curious." Jasper heard her heart quicken and the slightest bit of fear, dishonesty.
He shrugged, "Took a hiking week off with our father. Edward sure does love these outdoors." Aurora felt like he was lying but nodded. She turned her attention to the board.
Jasper slipped her a note, 'So what's your favorite color, darling?'
Aurora glanced at him and scribbled, 'Tie between shades of green and blue. What about you, cowboy?'
Jasper raised an eyebrow,'Cowboy.' 'It would have to be green too, princess. ' Jasper sure loved those nicknames for her.
'What about a favorite movie?'
'Depends on the genre.'
'Romance: 50 forst dates
Animation: Howls Moving Castle
Top: Pans Labyrinth
What about you ? Is it cowboy films ?'
'Very funny. One of the top would have to be Hell Boy and The Devil's Backbone.'
'I don't think I've seen the second one, but I have seen Hellboy, and it's up there too.'
The two continued to pass notes every class. Jasper asked questions, and Aurora answered them. After calculus, Alice appeared in front of both of them. "Alright, come on, Aurora, I can't wait for you to sit with us?" Aurora met Jaspers questioning gaze, and she shrugged.
Alice dragged her to the cafeteria. She passed Bella on the way there, she gave a pleading look, and Bella just shrugged. Betrayal. She stood in front of the other two siblings she hadn't met. Alice sat her down with force, 'Jesus christ, for a little thing, she sure does have strength.'
"Aurora, this is Rosalie Hale, Jasper's twin, and this is Emmett Cullen, her boyfriend."
'Oh, so they adopted siblings, and they're dating, not weird at all.'
"Hi." Emmett gave a grin, and Rosalie rolled her eyes.
"So like Sleeping Beauty, right?"
Aurora shook her head,"Uh, no, a family name."
"Cool. Cool. So why did little Alice here bring you?"
"I honestly have no fucking clue."
Alice chimed in, "Cause we're friends silly, and you're friends with Jaz."
Aurora looked at him, "Jaz?"
Jasper nodded, "Family nickname."
She decided not to say anything about Jasper's and her so-called friendship. "Wow, you're actually friends with both of them, not just Alice?" Emmett was ecstatic. He knew Jasper's view on relationships with humans.
"Um, sure."
Rosalie was a little intrigued now. How was her brother able to keep his thrust under control with her. She was plump and full of delicious blood. "So how did you two meet?" Jasper and Aurora shared a look.
"We met while I was sketching."
"Oohh, an artist."
"Where were you sketching?" Rosalie knew. It was obvious.
"The woods behind my house. At first, I thought he was a serial killer." The table tensed at her except Rosalie, she laughed.
"I would've thought that too."
Aurora smiled. Rosalie leaned closer on the table, "So Aurora, who are you?"
Aurora shrugged, "A 16 year old girl who moved from LA to Forks who likes to draw, read, play games, and I like to collect cards."
'16!?' Was the collective thought from the vampires.
Emmett grinned again,'This ought to be good.'
"Wow, 16? And a junior?"
"Yeah, I'm taking AP classes to get those extra credits. I'm technically a sophomore, but I talked with the counselor, and if I pass the classes, I'll be a senior next year. I'm like in between Sophmore and Junior right now."
Jasper groaned. Of course his luck to like a 16 year old girl. Sure he barely turned 18 to the school but he was 19, for fuck sake. Not even to mention the 100+ year old vampire thing.
Rosalie was she going to torment him with this at home. "I didn't know you were 16." Jasper said.
"Yeah, just turn 16 beginning of this month."
'I'm going to hell.' Jasper could feel the giddy glee from Rosalie and Emmett.
One of Tyler's friends came sauntering over, "Hey there, dumplin, what are you doing here with these freaks?" He touched her cheek. Aurora recoiled in disgust.
Rosalie rose and spoke, "Say that again, and I will pop you eyeballs out."
The dude laughed, and in a second, Jasper had the boy's head in the table and an arm up and one behind his back.
"Better yet, let's break his hand for touching her." He spat.
Aurora jumped up, as did Emmettand Alice. This was not good. The boy looked ready to cry. "Jasper. It's fine. Let him go before you get in trouble."
Jasper looked into her. He brought the boy, "If you say that again or touch her again, I will break both your arms." He let him go. The cafeteria was in shock and silence.
Jasper was seething. He hurried and got out of the cafeteria; right when he was about to open the doors to leave the school, he heard his name.
"Jasper," Aurora called. He internally groaned, 'Why didn't any of them hold her back.'
"Jasper, please wait," he stood still, back facing her.
"What do you want," he tried to keep a level voice.
Aurora hesitantly went to his side and grabbed his hand. "Come on," she tugged him outside, into the forest line.
This was dangerous, 'CONTROL. CONTROL. CONTROL.'
He couldn't be with her, but as much as he wanted to leave and get away, he stared into her eyes and stayed.
Aurora was still holding his hand, "Are you okay?" He nodded, a little afraid to speak.
"Are you sure? I mean, you almost broke that kids arm off."
"If he didn't want it broken, he shouldn't have called you that, and he especially shouldn't have touched you."
Aurora was a little touch, just a tiny bit. "I get that, I do, truly. But one, you could've seriously hurt him, enough to the hospital which, two, could've got you suspended or expelled. Hell, or he could've pressed charges on you." Jasper just nodded.
"Thank you for defending my honor like a semi true gentleman."
He cracked a smile," Semi?" 'Control. Control. Control.'
"I don't know how they defended a lady's honor way back when."
"Pretty much the same, just with guns added." Aurora raised an eyebrow, Jasper sounded like he spoke from experience.
"And wild horses?"
Jasper nodded, "Of course. The wildest."
"I take it you're from Texas?"
"What gave it away?" He teased.
"I don't know, the ma'am, the accent, the looking like a cowboy or all of the above."
Jasper laughed, "Okay, you got me. I am a Texan, born and raised."
The bell rang. Aurora looked up at Jasper, "You think you're okay to finish school?"
Jasper found himself nodding,"As long as you're there, princess." She smiled, and the pair walked back into school. Before sitting down for the last class, Aurora shot her mom a text.
'Can I have a classmate come over for an AP Spanish project?' - Aurora
'Aren't you in-class? Shouldn't you be paying attention to the teacher?
Is it that slightly too old for you, boy? - Amora
Aurora groaned.
'God, Mama, please.
Yes, yes, it is.' - Aurora
'Hmm, leave the door open and let Abuela know there's company.' - Amora
'Thanks :P' - Aurora.
Alice plopped down next to her, a little surprised she was still alive. When she turned to get Aurora and divert he attention from Jasper, she was gone."Hey, how was the whole Jasper thing?"
"Oh, um... fine, just talk it out. I got him a little calmer to return to class. It was nice of him to defend my "honor" but reckless and stupid to almost break the boy."
Alice nodded. If this plays out right, they'd have 2 additions to the family rather than just one.
"Yeah, Jasper has a little hard time with controlling himself every now and then."
Aurora hummed, and the teacher started the class. Once class had ended, Alice walked Aurora to Jasper, giving a wave and a "have fun."
There was Jasper's ride, a motorcycle, a harley.
"Oh wow."
"What? Not your taste, princess?"
"No, no, it's cool, just never been on one."
Bella appeared behind the duo. Jasper turned around, and Aurora followed.
"Oh, Bella! Jasper is gonna take me home since we have an AP Spanish project."
"Oh, okay." Bella was a little dejected.
She went right next to Bella and slung an arm over her," Still wanna come over for dinner, its chicken alfredo with a salad."
Bella eyed Jasper, "Sure. See you at 6:30."
"Sharp." She winked, and Bella smiled. She left the two, and Aurora turned to Jasper, "Are you gonna stay for dinner? You might not have a choice, just a warning. My grandma is very pushy and manipulative."
"I probably won't eat a lot, but I can stay if you want me to." He gave her a helmet. She put it on, and together on the bike they left.
So what Jasper was doing wasn't the best, he'll admit, but there was something about Aurora's art that made him use his powers on Aurora to lose interest in getting back her sketchbook. Was it wrong? Oh, 100%. Was he going to try to hold on to it for a bit more? Of course.
(i fudging love his hair, i have an addiction to it)
Someday We’ll Be Together
Chapter 8: Good
————————————————————————
(y/n's pov)
"what do you mean you're joes date?!" - your mom
i was getting ready in my bathroom when my mom walked in and asked what i was getting all fancy for. the look on her face when i explained the situation was one of excitement.
"he didn't have a date mom, the only reason he asked me was because i already know some of the people on his team and their partners." - you
"y/n, joe asked you to be his date! that has to mean something right?!" - your mom
"you're reading into this too much. plus it can't mean too much to him, he told me he likes someone." - you
"oh really?" - your mom
"yeah, he said he doesn't think she likes him back. i told him to shoot his shot anyways." - you
"what if he was talking about you?" - your mom
"mom. you're the reason i'm delusional." - you
"i'm being serious! don't you think it's kind of coincidental that he'd tell you that he likes someone and then ask you to be his date?" - your mom
"i don't know mom.. i don't want to get my hopes up." - you
"i understand that. just see how the night goes and you can come report back to me tonight."
- your mom
"okay i will." - you
my mom gave a me a quick smile before leaving my bathroom, probably going to tell my dad her newfound discovery about me going as joes plus one.
now that i had finished curling my hair and doing my makeup, it was time to slip my dress on. it wasn't anything too fancy, but it was nice enough for the occasion.
i was putting my heals on and doing my finishing touches when the doorbell rang. joes here.
i grabbed my purse and slipped it my phone into it as i headed downstairs. when i got to the last step i noticed that both of my parents were at the door talking to joe with ecstatic smiles on their faces.
how come they weren't this exited to greet tee on our actual date?
clearing my throat to get their attention, all three pairs of eyes landed on me as my parents turning to the side to see me revealed joe. he was wearing a dress shirt and slacks looking incredibly handsome. i watched joes eyes scan over my outfit, a smile pulling at his lips as his eyes met mine.
"you look beautiful." - joe
"thanks, joe." - you returned the smile as you walked towards the door
my parents moved out of the way as i walked out of the door and stood in front of joe.
"love you both, be safe!" - your mom
"we will!" - you answered as you walked to joes car with him
joe walked out in front of me and just when i was about to make a snippy comment, he opened the car door for me.
"why thank you." - you smiled as you sat down
"of course." - joe shut your door and jogged over to his side
your parents were watching through the blinds, unbeknownst to you and joe.
"how are they so blind?" - your mom
"i don't know. i don't know how they can't tell they like each other back." - your dad
"i know right. it's so obvious to everyone but them." - your mom
"i really hope one of them confesses eventually. they'd be the cutest couple. plus i mean i trust joe with her." - your dad
"if they do get together i take full responsibility for their relationship." - your mom
"you're the one in their ear, so i'll give it to ya."
- your dad
once i was in the car with joe he connected his phone to the cars sound system and shuffled a kid cudi album.
"of course you still listen to kid cudi" - you
"yes of course, he's the man." - joe
"i remember in high school, you'd play man on the moon on loop. i've heard that album hundreds of times." - you
"oh yeah? then maybe we should shuffle that one instead." - joe reached for his phone but you grabbed his hand before he reached it
"no!" - you laughed
joe smiled as his eyes met mine, a sudden tension falling on us as we both realized i was holding his hand. for a second i thought joe was leaning in, but i dropped his hand before i could figure out if that was true or not.
"uhm.." - you dropped his hand
"let's get going.." - joe
i let out a mhm before averting my eyes to the window, watching the scenes fly past as joe drove down the road
"i have deja vu right now" - you
"of what?" - joe
"you driving while we're dressed up. reminds me of prom." - you
"that was a really fun night. other than the after party." - joe sighed
"you mean the after party that you were dared to kiss me at?" - you
"you don't understand how self conscious i was that i was going to mess it up somehow. i hope it wasn't a bad kiss, you probably don't remember it.." - joe
"awww that's so sweet. i do remember it though, because it was my first kiss." - you
"i- i was your first kiss?" - joe
"yeah.. i know that's kind of late to have a first kiss but i was saving it for someone specific."
- you
"who?" - joe
"it's not important.." - you didn't want to admit to him that it was him
"well i wanna know who i stole your first kiss from." - joe
"seriously, it's not a big deal." - you
"please tell me." - joe
"you didn't steal it from anyone. i wanted you to be my first kiss." - you
"what?" - joe
"i thought it'd be easier since i was really close with you. like it wouldn't end up awkward." - you
"you really wanted me to be your first kiss?" - joe
"yeah." - you
"i had bleached hair and you still wanted me to be your first kiss??" - joe
"i thought it was cute" - you laughed
"you did?" - joe
"mhm" - you
"well since you told me that. i'll tell you something. when you started cheering junior year, you don't know how bad i struggled on the field. i couldn't take my eyes off of you, you were so beautiful." - joe
"really?! even with how bad my acne was??" - you
"acne didn't bother me. couldn't have cared less actually." - joe
"you really thought that?" - you
"yes, y/n." - joe
"wow. i didn't know you felt that way." - you
"i didn't know you felt the same way either. could you imagine if one of us like confessed?" - joe
"what if we dated?" - you
"we'd make a good couple- or we would've." - joe
"guess we'll never know huh?" - you
"guess not" - joe
*time skip*
we arrived to the bengals facility and joe being the gentleman he is, opened my door and helped me out of the car.
"i don't exactly like stuff like this.. so whenever you wanna leave we can." - joe
"sounds good." - you
"i'll introduce you to the guys' girl's so that you can talk to someone. i promise i won't leave you by yourself though." - joe
"thanks. and that's sweet but i don't want you to worry about me, you can leave me alone for a little bit." - you
"i don't want to though. i asked you to be my date so its only respectful if i stay with you." - joe
"i appreciate it." - you smiled, you weren't used to guys treating you so well.
"how do we get in?" - you
"my keycard" - joe put his card up to the door and opened it for you
as soon as we walked in there was immediately a lot of people dressed up standing in the lobby and socializing.
"burrow!!" - ja'marr
joe looked around for the source of the voice calling his name and when he saw ja'marr across the room he grabbed my hand and walked over to him.
"i was staring to think you weren't going to show!" - ja'marr
"had to. i rsvp'd months ago unfortunately."
- joe
ja'marr laughed before his eyes shifted to me and grew wide in shock. then his wide eyed gaze went to joes hand holding mine, then to joe.
"wha- woah." - ja'marr
"you remember y/n right?" - joe dropped your hand and motioned to you
"of course man, she went with you everywhere at lsu so kinda hard to forget her. but uhm.. what's goin on here??" - ja'marr
"nothing. i didn't have a date so i asked her to go with me instead of going alone." - joe shrugged
"mhm." - ja'marr gave a knowing smile between joe and i
"i give it 2 weeks." - sam walked up to ja'marr and motioned to us
"i say 3" - ja'marr
"wanna bet?" - sam
"guys stop." - joe rolled his eyes
"okay okay i'm done. hey y/n, jess and gracie are already in the cafeteria helping some of the other wags with setting up." - sam
"okay thanks!" - you
"i'll show you where it is" - joe took your hand and began walking through the sea of people
"they're for sure gonna get together." - ja'marr told sam once you two were away
"he's liked her since ohio state. i think he's finally gonna make a move." - sam
"i'm happy for him, you can tell she cares about him a lot." - ja'marr
"well yeah, they've been best friends since birth. i say they go all the way and get married." - sam
"oh no doubt, they are endgame" - ja'marr
joe was leading me down this long hallway, he knew exactly where he was going so i stuck by him.
"oh is that the locker room??" - you pointed towards a door clearly labeled *player's locker room*
"yeah, before we leave later tonight i'll show you around the stadium. i'll show you my locker if you promise to not bug me about cleaning it."
- joe
"no promises, joey" - you
joe laughed before walking through double doors, into a room i quickly realized was the cafeteria.
"y/n!!" - jess
"hey girl!" - you
jess smiled at me and then gave me a pointed look when she saw joe was beside me.
"you can go hang with your teammates now."
- you turned and smiled up at joe
"you sure?" - joe
"yup, i'm okay to be left." - you
"okay, just text me if you need me okay?" - joe
"i will." - you
joe nodded before he left, i watched him walk away and then turned to jess with a smile on my face.
"okay so what's going on?!?!" - jess
i shrugged and looked around to realize there was at least 20 women staring at me, i didn't realize they were all there.
jess noticed my discomfort and motioned for me to follow her as she went into this back room, it had a couple vending machines and was empty people wise.
"spill." - jess
"nothings going on." - you
"you're his date! something has to be going on!"
- jess
"i'm only his date because he didn't have one.. that's all." - you
"why didn't you come with tee? choose joe over him?" - jess
"not exactly.. at our date, tee asked if i had ever had feelings for joe-" - you
"see! it's obvious to everyone but you." - jess
"hold that thought" - you
"oh my god, go on." - jess
"after my date with tee he told me we'd be better off as friends. which i agree with, and then he told me that there was something i wasn't noticing.. and then he said that i still liked joe."
- you
"oh my! do you?!" - jess gasped
"uhm.. yeah." - you
"i knew it!" - jess
"what'd i miss?! why are we yelling??" - gracie
"oh god could you hear us all the way from the main room?" - you
"no you're good, i didn't see you guys so i guess you went back here to spill some tea. but what is it?!" - gracie
"y/n is joes date." - jess
"oh my gosh! i was wondering why you were here. that's so exciting! is there finally something going on between you two?" - gracie
"no, but-" - you
"she likes joe!" - jess
"you do?! oh my gosh! you guys need to get together asap." - gracie
"i don't know how to tell him, we've been friends our whole lives i'm worried that he doesn't feel the same way and our whole friendship is down the drain." - you
"oh girl don't start that. it's so obvious he likes you back. why else would he ask you to be his date to a team dinner?" - gracie
"because he didn't have a date." - you
"stop being difficult! if you need help with confessing we can help. but, we should probably get back to setting up." - gracie
we all agreed and eventually went back to the cafeteria, i had talked to a couple of the other girls as i helped. they were all nice but surprisingly they already knew who i was. one of the girls, holly, even referring to her boyfriend joe bachie as her joe to not add confusion.
after a few more of the girls had told me they already knew who i was, i had to ask how.
"joe of course. our boys tell us all the time about how joe would ramble on about this girl named y/n. a couple of us found your instagram to put a face to a name, but it is really nice to finally meet you. you seem to make qb1 really happy, even if you guys aren't together. which i can really see that changing in the future because you guys would be an adorable couple." - morgan, logan wilson's girlfriend explained.
so there it was, did joe really talk about me that much?!
*time skip*
once everything was set up the players and the rest of the plus ones came filing in.
i didn't know where joe was gonna sit, or if he wanted me to even sit with him, so i was going to wait to see where he'd sit down to approach him.
jess, gracie, and i stood off to the side and were talking when i felt a large hand on my lower back.
"hey" - joe smiled
"hey, joe" - you returned the smile
"you wanna sit down? i'll get you your food if you want to just pick a spot for us to sit." - joe
"okay yeah, i'm not that hungry though." - you
"what have you eaten today?" - joe
"i had a breakfast burrito this morning-" - you
"i'll go get your food. go find a spot." - joe stated before he walked away and towards the long table with food put out
"he made sure you ate" - jess awed
"he's sweet isn't he?" - you smiled
"let's go get that table." - gracie pointed to an open table
after we all sat down, leaving empty seats next to us for the guys, they joined us shortly after.
sam and joe talked about old stories from ohio state, including the adventures of our old friend group. it consisted of sam, nick bosa, joe, and of course i tagged along with joe.
we were knee deep in a story of how it took all four of us to kill this mouse that had gotten into the boys dorm when joe looked over at me and chuckled slightly.
"what? oh my god, is there something on my face?!" - you
"yeah here, lemme help you." - joe
he put one of his arms behind my shoulders on my chair before he grabbed his napkin and leaned closer to me, wiping the food off the corner of my mouth.
"there you go." - joe grinned
"thanks." - you awkwardly thanked him, trying to keep your cheeks from heating up because of the flirty moment
a few moments had passed and joe was still studying my face.
"everything okay?" - you
"have i told you that you look beautiful tonight yet?" - joe
"yeah" - you smiled softly
"good." - joe turned away and focused back on sam, leaving butterflies in your stomach
It All Happened Because of a Stupid Party. Pt2.
masterlist Part 1
AN: I started and posted part 1 so long ago I never followed it up because I thought it was kind of sucky... but I have decided to give it another shot.. big thanks to @dexter99 for reminding me of this story and how much I loved it!!
I don’t know how long we have been kissing just that I don’t want to stop anytime soon. My hands had made it into his hair and my back was up against something pinning me closer to him. I felt his tongue swipe across my bottom lip, and I gladly accepted it deepening the kiss. After a while we broke away to catch our breath. I looked around the room looking at everything but him not wanting to look him in the eye.
Billy was gone. He probably looking for some other girl to hit on. Before I could back away, he gently grabbed my chin making me look him in the face. I open my mouth, but he stops me. “Thanks for that.” Steve smirks taking his hand off my chin and walking away.
What the fuck just happened. I kissed Steve… Steve Harrington, my brothers new best friend, and Nancys ex-boyfriend. OH MY GOD Nancy! I have to find Nancy.
I look everywhere for her again. What if she saw it, the kiss? What if she is mad? “I think they left.” I hear Steves voice say snaping me out of my spiral. “Fuck.” I let slip without meaning to. “Do you need a drive home? I could take you.” He offers. “No.” I say a little to quickly. He flinches stepping back as if the word hurt him. “I just mean I think a little fresh air will be good for me. I don’t live far.” I explain. I step forward trying to close the distance he left. “Plus I don’t think the two of us .. alone... in a car together is a very good idea.” I say turning on my heal and walk away as smoothly as I can heading for the door and down the street to my house before I say or do anything else I might regret.
I finally made it home and tipped toed into my room not wanting to wake up Dustin and having to face him and the millions of questions he would have tonight. Looking in the mirror I relies I still have his jacket on I take it of and lay it on the chair in my room before taking off my ruined shirt throwing it into the corner of my room to be worried about later. I plopped myself down on my bed thinking what the fuck did I just do.
I woke up to the sound of plates clattering in the kitchen and Dustin yelling about not being able to find something. lazily getting up and go into the kitchen I see mom already sitting in her chair while Dustin is looking, or should I say tearing up the house looking for something. “Dude what the hell are you looking for?” I ask as I go to get a bowl out the cabinet.
“The Walkman Steve let me Borrow” just like that you freeze. Thinking about what you did last night and then running off like a coward. “I’m supposed to give it back to him this afternoon.”
You turn around and continue to fix your bowl of cereal when your mother chimes in.
“oh honey I’m sure it will turn up soon don’t worry about it”.
Dustin was already halfway down the hall probable going to tear up his room more than it already was when the phone started to ring. You got up and walked across the kitchen to answer it.
“Hello”
“Hey, come meet me at the new mall I need a shopping buddy” said Nancy on the other side.
“Oh, so you need me now what about when you ditched me last night”.
” I didn’t ditch you I thought you left already after your pouty ass was no longer in the corner Just get dressed and meet me over there pleeeeease”
” Fine” you say defeated. She wouldn’t be inviting me if she saw us, right? If she was mad?
I look through the crowd looking for Nancy when Dustin asks for some money. “No, you already made me drive you here you can at least bring your own money.”
“I just wanted to get some ice-cream; I didn’t know hangovers made you such a bitch.” He says with an attitude. I open my mouth to call him some chose words back, but a voice interrupts me.
“Dude don’t be so harsh to your sister, and I’ll give you a free scoop when my break is over promise.”
I looked back recognizing whose voice it was immediately, the one person I’m trying to avoid, trying to forget. Oh, but how could you forget how soft his lips were or how good it felt when he pulled me closer to him and his hair ah don’t even get me started about his hair. Breaking me out of my daydream was someone tapping on my shoulder.
“There you are now!! Come on the shoes won’t buy themselves.” Nancy says with a giggle.
I turn toward the Ice cream shop that Steve and Dustin are already heading towards no doubt making Steve keep his promise of a free scoop. I faintly hear Dustin defending the comment he made earlier by saying its my fault for drinking when he has been home only a day.
Should I tell her about the kiss... get it all out in the open. Yes. I need to. “umm Nancy can we talk about last night?
“Look… I’m sorry about leaving, me and Johnathan got into a huge fight about me being drunk and I made him take me home.” She answers.
“Are you okay?” I ask.
“Yes, he called this morning and apologized.” Nancy tells me continuing shopping.
“So did anything interesting happen at the party while I was gone?” She asks as we walk out the store with bags in hand.
“Actually...” I start.
“Hello ladies, so good to see the two of you ... you know still all friendly after last night.” Billy Interrupts. I fell my body freeze in place watching Nancys face turn up half disgust half confused. How does Billy even know who I am much less that me and Nancy are friends. “Wow Billy crazy to see you in here, didn’t know they had a duchbag store nearby.” I Interject hoping to change the subject. Just then I see A red headed girl iv come to know as Max, aka Billys stepsister. That’s got to be how he figured me out. “You know its super crazy to see you here too... I figured you and your boy would be hungover together the way you were … exploring the kitchen together last night.” He quips back with a smirk.
My mouth is so dry I can’t speak. Luckily Nancy is just looking at me so confused. “she didn’t tell you about her and king hair boy?”
As Max starts walking closer “looks like Shithead is finally ready to go home.” He says walking away from the bomb he just dropped.
“Nancy... I can explain.” I plea as she sits now on a near by bench by the fountain.
“You and Steve…” She mutters out.
“Yes, It was only one kiss and it was all because of Billy and ..” I try and defend myself.
“Wow.” Nancy exclaims “look at the time your late to meet up with Dustin.” She quickly gets up.
“Fuck Dustin right now... are you mad at me? I ask
“No, no, no… I don’t think so…. This is just a lot to process. I just need a little time to wrap my head around it.” She quickly answers.
“We should have a sleepover like we used to do in middle school… tomorrow?” she says making her way to the exit.
Walking into scoops ahoy I immediately notice Dustin and Steve sitting in the corner booth. Steve is wearing his Scoops ahoy hat, no one else could pull off a hat like that and still make it attractive. . NO NO NO you cannot be thinking of him in that way no matter how cute he is or how good of a kisser he is! Not until you talk with Nancy for real.
I sit next to the boys as Steve notices me and quickly gets up. “Back to work I go.” He mumbles as he walks behind the counter. I can’t help but notice the cute girl behind the counter laughing at a joke he made. I can feel the twinge of jealousness as she hits his shoulder jokingly. “Are you done drooling over Steve so we can go home now?” Dustin asks
