2024 -New York City
Sam scanned the battle field, looking for any survivors. The buildings were destroyed, half crumbled while others completely gone. He pulled up the screen attached to his wrist, he scanned, slowly, making sure to assess every pile of rubble. Before he decided to shut it off, he saw warmth emitting from the grabble. It was small; child-like. He rushed over, throwing the rocks off the small boy. He grabbed the child, not paying attention to his face, just trying to do his best to not hurt the body.
“Jamie!” A woman appeared, eyes red, face full of sorrow.
You cleared more of the rocks, as Sam was able to pull the boy fully out. He laid him carefully, the scanner gave full body heat; he checked the pulse, it was strong. He turned to the boy's face, and saw… Bucky Junior.
He watched you hover over the kid, desperation evident in your tone, “Jamie? Jamie!”
The young boy emitted a groan, showing he could hear you. “Oh thank god,” you bawled, one hand clutching your chest, relief in your veins. You drew a shaky breath as you turned to Sam, grabbing his hands in yours, “Thank you so much. Thank you.” Your voice was shaky, your heart still lost in fear.
“You don’t have to thank me ma’am.”
You nodded furiously, ready to talk, when a soft voice was heard, “Mom?”
Eyes wide, you turned your attention to your son, “I’m here. I’m here Jamie.” Hugging the boy, as he gained further consciousness. Sam gave a soft pat on the shoulder, along with a nod, before walking away.
‘That kid looks like it could be Buck’s twin.’ His mind went to Zemos, and Bucky’s devoid of emotion, at that moment. He turned to see you with your son, still there helping him slowly get up, ‘She looks too normal… too nice.’ He watched as you dusted the debris of your son, long h/c hair in a braid, eyes full of love - something Hydra agents lacked.
It ate at the back of his mind for weeks, before he finally asked something, “Hey Buck?” The park was full, as the two grabbed lunch.
Bucky paused, mid-bite, eyebrows furrowed, “What?”
“When,” he hesitated, what if he was wrong.
The man with the metal arm seemed to know what the question would be about, “What about Hydra Sam?”
“Did they- like, make you do other things besides killing?” The words were heavy as the atmosphere turned tense.
Bucky’s jaw clenched, his right arm fixing his hair, “Why the sudden interest?”
Sam looked away in the distance, taking in the park square, “I saw a boy who looked like you.”
The ex-Winter Soldier paused, “That can mean anything, people have like 10 doppelgangers in their life.”
“I don't know Buck, that kid is like the spitting image of you. The only thing that was different was his eyes, they were e/c.”
Bucky's mind flashed his with an image of e/c eyes, red from crying. “So what, you think one of the orders I had when I was the winter soldier resulted in a hydra spawn.”
“I don't know about hydra spawn, the women looked sweet. But you know what they say, looks can be deceiving.”
“None of them would want- they were all power hungry women with no compassion for kids. Plus I was a lowly soldat, they probably wouldn't have kept the kid.” Bucky avoided eye contact, only moving his food around, hunger disappeared.
Sam nodded, the solemn mood growing too heavy for each other's comfort. Sometimes, often, the universe liked to prove that it was full of humor. “Jamie! Come back here!” There you were, holding an ice cream cone.
A young boy came cycling towards his mother, lo and behold to Bucky, there was the boy who was the spitting image of him. Sam’s eyes widened, he quietly whispered, “That’s her! That's the kid!” Bucky just stared, the boy was his twin; except, just like Sam had said, his eyes were e/c.
He started to gain a migraine. He stared and stared until they were passing them by. He heard a laugh drop from your lips, “Jamie come one, quit being silly and eat your ice cream. This is the only place that sells pancakes and syrup.” The two men turned to one another, upon hearing the child's name and favorite flavor. Bucky was a sucker for pancakes.
The child nodded to you, putting the training bike next to the bench. He sat finally, politely asking for his ice cream. You smiled at the boy, sitting next to him. Breathing in a deep breath of air, you felt eyes on your figure. Looking up, there were ocean blue eyes of the man with the metal arm. The two of you made eye contact, and suddenly you were back in hydra’s base; being dragged to your daily session with soldat.
Bucky internally flinched, the look of terror was evident on your face, he was no stranger to that look. Whilst it never crossed Sam’s name before, it dawned on him the roles could also be reversed. Before he could stop his friend, Bucky was out of the chair heading towards the mother and son. Sam narrowly missed Bucky. Your breath was caught in your throat, here was the father of your child; The Winter Soldier. “Soldat.” It was a whisper that Bucky caught, it heartbreakingly confirmed his suspicions.
The little boy took his attention away from his ice cream, seeing the man all clad in black and another in simple outing attire; plaid button up and jeans. The boy stared at the dark skin man before recognition set, “You’re the Falcon! That means you’re the Winter Soldier!” The boy jumped up off the bench, forgetting he had ice cream. Splat. It laid on the floor, as the child stared at flatten ice cream, tears welling up. He gasped through his sobs, “Mommy..m-my… ice… cream…”
Before you could react, Bucky lowered his height to match the 4 year old, “Hey it’s okay, I’ll get you a new one. It’s our fault for distracting you.”
The boy calmed down, his sobbing turned into sniffles, his face turning less blotchy red, “Promise?”
He held out a pinky, which Bucky held out his own, “Promise.” The little pouty lip turned into a toothy white smile. You watched the scene, this man didn’t seem like the Winter Soldier. Sam watched your reaction, you were more calm.
Sam made his way towards you, “If you want I can take your son to the ice cream shop, while you talk to Bucky.”
E/c eyes snapped to brown, “Bucky? I thought his name was James.”
“He likes to use his nickname.”
Hesitantly nodding, she stared at the man a bit more, “You’re the hero that rescued him?”
He held out his hand, “Sam Wilson, or as your son called me, The Falcon.”
She shakily took his hand, “Y/n L/n. Okay, well um-his flavor was blueberry pancake.”
Sam nodded, giving a little smile: in the back of his mind, that name rang a bell. “Okay so the little man likes that pancake flavor.” Jamie’s eyes snapped to Sam, excitingly nodding his head. Sam gave a laugh, “Alright, come on, I’ll buy you a new one.” The boy jumped for joy, taking Sam's hand and giving his mom a gummy smile.
Bucky sat down in the empty seat next to you. Muscles flinched as he did, your eyes trained on the shoes of people walking by. The man clenched his jaw before he spoke, “I’m sorry.” You didn't speak, so he continued, “I… I don’t remember even that happened in the base, with the torture, cryogenesis and… brain wash. I remembered everyone I killed but being in that basement is… fuzzy to me. I’m sorry for what I did and I am sorry for not remembering all of it. Most of the memories I have are only your eyes crying.”
You slowly faced him, as he was already seeking you, “I forgive you,” his mouth dropped as his eyes widened, “You spoke as someone who was under control, always about the ‘mission to procreate,’ I… I got help, therapy; 2 times a week. Even though my therapist said I didn’t have to forgive you, I wanted to. You were trapped there, just like me. Plus, I’ve always been a crier, so most remember me that way.” You gave an awkward laugh, uncomfortable with the past being brought to light. ‘I liked it,’ Bucky clenched his jaw again as the thought from his deep subconscious awoke. He opened and closed his mouth, like a goldfish, searching for the words to continue. You beat him to the punch though, “He’s yours, Jamie. He’s going to turn six soon.”
“Six?” ‘The boy should be older.’
“Yeah, when the blip happened…he uh… he was gone. He should be 10… but I’m just glad he’s back,” there was a sting behind your eyes, you rapidly blinked it away.
“I’m sorry.” It was the only thing Bucky could say at this point.
“He’s named after you.”
“How… did you find out my name? And how did you get out?”
You sniffled, “Vlad, the soldier assigned to me, let me go. His daughter… he said I reminded him of her. He also kept the other men away from me; Soldat’s Property. When he let me go, we passed a grave, it was filled with another person. I thought I was going to be killed. No more Soldat, no more Sodalt’s kin needed,” you inhaled thinking back to the time Vlad dragged you through the forest, “But he let me go, said you were an assassin and you were nowhere to be found. They panicked, not sending another person with Vlad to make sure the job was done, or maybe… the person in the grave was the second person. He told me your name was James, hence Jamie.”
Even though Bucky didn’t care for his name, he was touched. “Thank you,” it was small and almost unheard.
“You know, you weren’t a monstrous assassin in the room. I’m not sure if maybe you were given an order to be… hmm gentle, but you were. You call me cимпатичный every time...”
He nodded, he here was being comforted by his own victim, “Still, what I did to you, it's unforgivable.” His foot started to bounce, anger at himself was flooding his veins.
You shrugged, “It’s my choice, and I chose to forgive you.” You were hesitant to ask, but did so anyway, “What does it mean, cимпатичный?”
‘How could she forgive me! I’m a monster! She shouldn’t even be letting me near her or the kid!’ His thoughts were in a whirlwind, and the target was himself. You could see the internal struggle, this man was easier to read than his counterpart, “Sol-,” you cleared your throat, "Bucky?”
He looked at you, fully taking you. You were there, sitting with big eyes staring at him. Your h/l sat naturally, you s/t was glowing, as the sun hit your face he could see why he the Winter Soldier said that word. “He called you pretty.”
You sat a little straighter, mind reeling from knowing now that was his nickname and what it meant, “Oh, okay. Thank you.” You didn’t realize what you said, just reminiscing of every time the Soldat would call you that when he would finish inside you.
Bucky stared at her, brows furrowed and oblivious to where your mind was wandering, “Don’t express gratitude, what I- how cou- why? Why forgive me?” His tone was hard, a different remembrance was stirring inside you.
You were snapped back to the moment, head shaking, “I told you already. You were brai-.”
“No! You can’t just forgive so easily,” shock and anger were held in his soul.
“Please.” It was a hushed whisper as you clench the metal bench, stopping yourself from crying. The Soldat would never yell at you, but the tone of anger was similar.
Bucky turned upon hearing you, his anger evaporated as quickly as it came, “I-I… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” he cut himself off, hands tugging down on his face.
You never wanted to admit it, “I fell in love with you, with the soldat.” You avoided the man's face, embarrassed to have revealed the secret you kept hidden for so long, “Like I said, you weren’t horrible in the cell. We were fucking almost every night,” a hollow chuckle left your lips, “You would hold me, like you needed my contact to breathe. And… you started to smile, you would take off the mask and do this little smirk or smile when we were done. You become less rigid, a little more human when we were together,” a sigh left your lips before you continued, “I don’t know, it was probably some form of Stockholm syndrome, but that doesn’t make what I felt any less real.”
His jaw hurt from clenching, “Do you miss him?”
Your eyes were the familiar red, holding back tears, “Insanely…yeah I do.”
He softened his demeanor, “I’m sorry.”
“You don't have to keep apologizing, I’ve already forgiven you.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop,” he hung his head, so many emotions clouded his person; shame, guilt, self-loathing. ‘Симпатичный.’ It was a whisper in his head, but Bucky was too late.
You glanced at the man, his stare turning blank. You leaned further back, the similarities he was presenting was the Soldat. As his eyes became glossy, he became emotionless. Your eyes widened: whilst you were true in your word about love, the fear of what he was always took up the back of your mind. You glance around the park, no sight of Jamie or Sam, ‘He must be watching him as he eats the ice cream.’ You hoped this was true. The gaze of the hollow man finally turned to you, “Симпатичный.”
You sucked in a breath, “Soldat?”
“Да.” He was here, staring at you.
A pit grew in your stomach, “Can… can I please talk to Bucky again?”
His gaze hardened, with his jaw clenched he spoke, “No,” it was anger filled.
‘It’s okay, just relax.’ You had to make it okay. Drawing in a breath to slowly release it, “Okay soldat. Did you want to keep talking here or did you want to go to yours?” You prayed it was the latter, not wanting to cause whatever the Winter Soldier could release.
The Soldat paused, relishing in being able to make a choice, “Mine.” He looked at you, emotionless eyes have a hint of humanity now.
The direct eye contact made your body flush, “Okay let me drop Jamie off at his play date and then we’ll go to yours.”
He shook his head, “No, kin stays with us.” He wanted the little boy to be with both his parents now.
You drew in another breath, calming your nerves. You leaned in, and he let you, gently touching his lower jaw. Your tone turned softer for him, always softer for the Soldat, “After okay, we can watch movies together or go for a walk, whatever you want but he has to go so we can talk Soldat.”
He glowered, teeth clenching his mouth shut. His nod was curt, barely visible to the untrained eye; but to you, it was evident. You slowly pulled back, when a long forgotten cold touch grabbed your hand, “Jamie?”
You nodded, a small smile forming on your lips, “Yeah Jamie.” He gave a nod of approval before letting you go, “Okay, I will be back in 10 minutes okay. Can you wait here?” Another stoic nod was given before you hesitantly turned away from the assassin.
You saw Sam and Jamie on the bench right outside the shop, the man gave you a smile unaware of the current situation unfolding. He stood up, lowering his voice so the child wouldn’t hear him, “I thought it would be best to let him eat it here, in case y’all weren’t done talking.”
You licked your lips, mind still really in from what was happening. “Sam?”
His smile slowly started to falter, fear was visible on you, “Yeah?”
You turned to Jamie, happily oblivious to the turn of events unfolding, you grabbed your cell phone - 1 inbox notification.
‘Hey almost there, walking to the ice cream shop :P’ It was sent 3 minutes ago, ‘Okay she should be here right now then.
“What’s going on?” Sam wasn’t liking how the atmosphere was feeling, his shoulders hunched and the smile was replaced by a frown.
Before you could speak, your sister was there, “Y/n!”
You whipped around the voice, giving a small tight smile, “Jamie come on, your aunt is here.” With the last bite of the cone shoved in his mouth, Jamie hopped off the bench running full speed with his little legs.
Your sister crouched down, meeting the child for a hug, “Jamie, aw I’ve missed you buddy. Are you ready to hang out with your favorite auntie?”
You walked forward, giving your family hugs, and waving them off. You watched them walk away, as you turned back to Sam, the Winter Soldier stood behind him. With your eyes wide and breath hitch, Sam turned around, not noticing the different demeanor yet. “Buck, my man. How did it-,” as Same went forward to talk to his friend, the brainwashed soldier flashed forward gripping his throat.
Sam coughed out, “Shit.” The realization that this man was no longer his friend. People started to stare, and you started to shake; anxiety was clawing at your throat.
“Soldat, please. Let your friend go.” You approached the man, gently holding his right arm. He gripped your hand, it was firm.
“This man is not my friend.” His grip loosened regardless.
“He’s Bucky’s friend, by an extension of yours. Please, let’s go to yours to talk, remember? That’s what you picked?” You prayed he would listen.
He let Sam go, you knew better than to rush and help Sam; it might upset the Soldier. The man was on the floor gasping for breath, the Soldier looked at you nodding his head to the direction, “Come.”
You gave Sam a small sad smile, mouthing ‘Safe,’ to him. With that the Winter Soldat gripped your hand with his metal one, taking you through the sea of people.
Sam hit the floor, “Fuck!” He stood up, running to his car, Joaquin's number already on dial.
The Soldat’s grip was firm but soft, he led you through the city, weaving in and out of alleyways. You were pretty sure that he added extra courses to throw you off. He pushed through a double door, you weren't able to read the name of the complex. You were indeed winded after 4 flights of stairs, the Winter Soldier seemed fine of course. He looked at your hand as he grabbed the keys, “I’m not going anywhere.” It was reassurance he needed, another slight nod before he let you go. The keys turned and a low click, and the door opened. There was another sound, bells jingling. A soft white tuft of fur was seen behind the arch, Soldat waited for you to enter first, which you complied.
The cat peaked its head out, a little meow hitting your ears. The cat lazily stretched forward, before going to inspect you. You knelt for Alpine so he could sniff, sniff, and sniff again; he patiently sat, waiting for a pet. You giggled at the small animal, the fur was soft and vibrations started to emit from it. A gruff voice was broke through your concentration of pets, “Кошка. Alpine.”
“You’re a very cute kitty,” you gave a last pet before the cat made its way to the Soldat. It purred as it rubbed itself against him. You saw the hesitation in the man’s eyes, “Give him a soft pet if you want.” He tentatively reached out, favoring his right arm this time, and he would agree the lush fur was soft and silky. Satisfied, the cat walked away into the hallway before lying down on the rug, ready to take a nap.
He stood next to you, a metal arm extended for you to take. You did so, dusting yourself off. The Soldat stared at you, you didn’t seem to age; not that he knew anything about you, only physical. He led you again down the hall, to his room; wooden floor, one seat, and a bed on the floor. The layout had you thinking of the base, just nice furniture and place. He stopped in front of the bed, “Сидеть.”
He followed his own instructions, he tugged at you gently, “I still can’t understand Russian Soldat.”
“Сидеть; it means sit, Зайчик.”
You nodded, now confused at the other word said. You shifted, and the bed creaked: memories creeped their way into your mind, your body burning as a result. You avoided the Soldiers gaze, knowing the flush of your skin was very much prominent. Soldat smirked, knowing what was being conjured in your head. “Y/n.” Your eyes widened, he never said your name before. You gave a nod as he looked to see if you heard him, “I… I have… missed you,” the words felt foreign on his tongue.
“I’ve missed you too, Soldat… But, why did you return Soldat?”
“Are you not happy to have me?”
Your eyes soften at the man, “Of course I am happy, but from my understanding Bucky has you…” you bit your lip trying to find the right word, “... has you… restrained.”
The Soldat smirked, “He is only in control because I let him.” Your face betrayed your thoughts, and he seemed to notice, raising an eyebrow he spoke again, “I saw you. I will be honest, I do not care what Bucky does most of the time but he was upsetting you.”
“So you came out to - in a way- stop yourself ?”
“I want to be with you, Y/n. Bucky was ruining my chance to see you more.”
You looked away, as the butterflies fluttered in your stomach, “You have grown a lot Soldat. But, this is also Bucky’s life. While we have a child together, I do not think he wants to be with me. And I have to respect that, it’s his choice.”
“What about my choice?” He gave a low growl, teeth clenched at what was said.
“You were in charge… no… what I mean is; while you had to take orders because you were brainwashed and had to survive, during that time - it was you in control. Bucky was trapped in his own mind for years Soldat, it’s only right he has his… time to be in control.”
“I don’t care.” You pressed your mouth into a thin line, of course Soldat would be hard-headed. “Call me James.”
Your brows knitted together at the name change, “Okay… James.” You leaned forward, and he followed your actions, “I need you to let me talk to Bucky please.”
“No.”
“So-,” you cleared your throat, “James please. I need to speak to Bucky.”
“No.”
“Please, I am begging you.”
He smirked, “How about you beg a different way?”
The man in front of you was very different as well, compared to the man you knew. You felt the heat slowly burn through you, “You speak a lot more now.”
The smug look was still on his face, “So do you. As I remember you moaned a lot more.”
With his guard let down, Buck was able to take back control. With a smug turning into wide eye fear, he jolted back. His breath was heavy, eyes frantically taking in his surroundings, “How did you awaken him?”
“I didn’t awaken him, I…not-I, I wouldn't know how to.”
Fear turn to anger quickly, now a familiar feeling cold metal touch ripped your throat, “How the fuck did you awaken him!”
You gasped for a breath, but to no avail. Black dots slowly clouded your vision, gasping one last sentence, “Soldat… or.. Buc-Bucky.”
The metal touch was quickly rescinded as fast as it came, he stood there horrified at what he had done. “Fuck! I-I cou-didn’t mean too.” You hunched over, breathing as much air as you could.
Bucky shot up, and moved himself to the other side, “I’m sorry. I-I… I just don't understand how he came out.”
You gasped again, the oxygen supplying your brain, “He said you were fucking up talking to me.” A couple of coughs slipped past your lips, as your throat tickled still.
He paused, “What?”
“He said he wanted to see me more, and you scared me away. He had to stop it.”
A stupid look made its way to his face, “So, the assassin who is my brainwash counterpart, high-jacked my body to do damage control? Is that what you're saying?”
You rubbed your throat, rolling your eyes at the man, “Yes, basically. Could you not ask James this yourself?”
“James?” His eyebrows continued to knit together.
“That's what he wanted me to call you.”
He was at a loss for words, the Winter Soldier was… gaining humanity. This wasn't supposed to be the future, the Soldier was supposed to be buried and gone. It dawned on him, “He loves you. In his own twisted way, the Winter Soldier actually cares about you.” Fear coursed through him, “You activate him.” It was whispered to himself but you heard it.
Your voice turned soft, “I think he just wants me around.”
Bucky started to breathe heavily, as if the oxygen was being withheld. He gripped the counter top, fighting to breathe. You made your way to him, touch and voice still soft, “Hey. Hey, it's okay. Focus on my voice, or focus on my hand. Can you feel it?”
He gasped again, but nodded. “That's it, you can breathe. One deep breath in: one, two, three. Hold; one, two, three. Exhale; one, two, three.” He started to follow along, till he vision wasn't blurry, till his breath was deep and strong. You rubbed small circles on his back, “It's okay, you're here.”
Bucky gave one loud inhale, he eyed you, “Did you do this a lot for him? Comfort him?” There was no malice, just curiosity.
You gave a shrug, “Not really, he comforted me more than I did him. Not with words, more with actions.”
“What did he do?”
“He held me a lot. After um… what was needed. He would hold me til I fell asleep. Sometimes I would feel the metal arm slowly graze my back or massage my head. When I would cry, which was a lot, he would wipe my tears and kiss me to distract me.”
Bucky nodded, he continued to melt into her touch, his body no stranger to it. They stayed like this, in each other's space, relishing in one another's presence. The comfort the two of you gave each other, it put Bucky’s mind at ease. Slowly, memories of the past were in a way granted access to Bucky.
There's gonna be a part 3

2014- Hydra Base
The girl drew in a labored breath, her hands were trembling; fear was coursing through her. Your hand found the ground, the cool and damp floor brought you back to reality. You were trapped, in this cold destitute room. There was a single, beaten up, stained mattress in the corner, your stomach coiled at the thought of what that was for. Sitting there, only God knew for how long, waiting, watching for any signs of life through the metal; it seemed to stare and mock you. Freedom on the other side, a steel frame only 4 inches thick was blocking the pathway. Prove of life was found as footsteps passed your door, holding in a breath, afraid it would alert someone.
Trying to find some comfort, you shifted. In doing so, pain erupted, you silently whimpered. The stinging behind your eyes was abrupt, blood from chapped lips was drawn; holding in the sounds of pain for only yourself to hear. With no light, there was no opportunity to assess yourself. It had to be a bruise, a massive one at that; from your rib cage to glute, pain pulsated. ‘I’m okay. It’s okay,’ you repeated this mantra, trying to convince yourself that whatever this situation held in storage, you were going to be fine.
Clenching your eyes tight, you tried to remember how you ended up in this room. A light ‘thud’ was heard, a soft pain was felt as your head dropped backwards into the wall. There was nothing, no recollection of how you ended here.
The sound of heavy boots hitting the floor were in the distance, creeping closer and closer to the door. Keys jingled, and terror spread through your veins, drawing in a breath, you closed yourself in. Making yourself as small as possible when the door opened, you flinched at the light that made it through the barricade. A scoff made its way to your ears, it belonged to a man, “Глупый.” You flinched at the foreign language, it sounded Russian. “Вверх,” you flinched again, body trembling. The man in uniform rolled his eyes, he grabbed your arm causing a gasp from the pain. “Up!” Wide eyes, and tear streaks stared up at the man, you nodded your head with a quick pace. Unable to speak, words caught in your throat, you hastily got up. Hand still gripped on the forearm, he dragged you though what was considered your safe haven now, “Follow.”
The hallway was dimly lit, made of concrete and the walls were cracked. You stumbled over your feet, as the soldier picked up his pace. What felt like a mile walk, of being continuously dragged, the pair finally stopped. The man reached with his free hand for the keys, before opening the door, the man turned his gaze to you, “Do not fight.” With your eyebrows furrowed, the man opened the door and threw you in.
Stumbling, you were confused on why there was a transfer to a new room. You examined her surroundings, the room was the same, except this bed; it was almost identical with one exception, this one had blood. You stiffened at the sight, with your eyes trained on the stain, there was no notice of the figure emerging from behind you.
“Полоска.” Turning quickly, you tripped over your own feet. Landing on the floor, in pain, you turned to the man who spoke. His hair reached his chin, his mouth was covered with a mask, and his eyes had black dust around them, masking his features. The hair on the back of your neck stood up, his eyes were cold and distant. There was no humanity in them. “Полоска,” he repeated the word a second time.
Mouth agape, you ever so slightly shook your head, “I… I do-don’t,” before you could finish the sentence, he bent down and hauled her to your feet.
“Strip,” there was a heavy accent, Russian maybe.
Eyes filled with terror, you uttered a small, “What?”
His eyes narrowed, “I said strip.” The tone was hard, and as you were going to protest, the soldiers' words echoed in your head, ‘Do not fight.’
Your bottom lip quivered from holding in the sob, eyes were stinging again; with trembling hands you undressed. The man watched you, not moving, not saying a word, simply just watching. You stood there in a bralette and underwear, shielding your exposed body - horribly. “All of it,” e/c eyes snapped to blue.
“Why?” It was small and weak but the soldier heard you still.
“The mission is to procreate,” the words were so monotonous and uncaring, it grew a pit in your stomach. You went to speak, but the man cut you off, “Finish, or we will get another woman. "The threat loomed in the air, you weren’t dense; ‘Finish undressing, or we will kill and replace you.’
You nodded, the tears finally falling. He looked at you and then the bed, understanding, you laid on your back. Ignoring the blood stains and keeping in the full blown out sobs, you waited. The mattress shifted under the new weight, the warmth of the man made you drop a few more tears. A hand slithered from your knee to the inside of  the thigh, prying it to the side. A cold and hard touch made its way to the other thigh, a gasp escaped your lips. Eyes searched the man, landing on his left arm; it was made of metal. Your thighs clenched from the cold touch, but you forced yourself not to move, or to comment, the words he said kept you from reacting.
A metallic taste hit your taste buds, as your teeth gnawed at your bottom lip. The man continued, hand making its way high up. Sucking in a breath as he started to touch you, it was robotic. A man on a mission, no soft grazes, no playful touches. The cold metal against your burning flesh resulted in a  flinch. Metal fingers were in and out, you clenched instinctively at the thought of something inside you. He spread his pointer and index finger, opening you more up. The man's stare made its way to your face, as you avoided acknowledging what was happening. Your gaze was trained on the ceiling. He brought his right hand, gently rubbing your clit. Your body squirmed at this new action taking place, he saw as your cheeks become dusted with red. He continued, enthralled at watching you squirm; besides this was part of the objective.
The Winter Soldier continued to watch you, as your breath became ragged. He felt his lower body slowly harden, this time of his own accord. Unable to focus on the ceiling as the man touched you, your eyes found his. Retracting his right hand, it made its way to his zipper. His cock sprang out, hard and throbbing. Glancing down, your eyes widened. “It’s too big!” You clasped a hand over your mouth.
The Winter Soldier simply stared, he put his member at your entrance, "It will.” Shutting your eyes, anxiety clawed its way through you: he pushed the head though. He was met with resistance, her body was wound up and tight. “Relax,” it was gruff, the tightness was painful.
A sob finally broke through your crumbling facade, “I’m trying! I am, I swear I am.” You clamped your mouth shut, afraid crying would agitate him. He narrowed his eyes once more, he brought his hand up, and you turned her head away. Cool metal was felt, he moved your face back to the original place. Your eyes sought his expression, his mask was off. His chiseled chin was clenched, her leaned down and captured you in a kiss. Slowly, the clenched and frigged state you were in, relaxed. He entered slowly, inch by inch settling in wet, slick heat.
A string of saliva connected the two as the Winter Soldier broke apart. His hips were flush against you, he pulled back slightly before thrusting back in. Your breath became ragged, and desire pulled in the bottom of your stomach. He repeated his moves, earning a moan. Curiosity got the better of man, he moved his mouth to your neck as he thrusted in. He sucked on your flesh, and your arms hesitantly gripped his shoulders. Thrust after thrust, licking, sucking after licking and sucking, You let out a moan. Clenching tightly around his girthy cock, made him falter his pace. Opening your eyes, looking at his ocean blue ones, you nervously touched his jaw. With no protest, you gently guided his face toward yours. His pace quickened as you moaned into the kiss. He let out a grunt as he came inside. No urgency was felt so there was no slowing down, he continued to fuck you as he came, pushing his cum further and further in.
Your orgasm snuck up as he continue to fuck you after cumming, you gripped him tightly as the waves continued to pulse throughout the body. Seeking some type of human connection, you held him close. Ragged breath, and chest heaving, the Winter Soldier hardened again. With eyes pleading to stop, you shook your head. “The mission is to procreate.” With that the night continued, orgasm after orgasm, until you were delirious in pleasure and pain, the perfect balance.
Everyday, at what you assumed was the same time, you would visit the Winter Soldier. Whoever gave the mission, also gave the soldier hours to complete each day. You were there for months, not that keeping count was feasible. Some days you would hear, “Winter Soldier is out.” He would be gone for long periods of time, when he would return - he was rougher, less touches, less softness… less humanity in him. The two of you never spoke too many words, just letting actions speak; both forced to the task at hand.
Before the last day you had seen him, he spoke, “Симпатичный,” it was low, as if you were not meant to hear it. E/C looked at him, as your body was sprawled for him to use. He climbed over you, as if he was stalking prey, his eyes never leaving yours. Your eyes fluted down to his lips, before reaching back to his pretty blue eyes. There was a ghost smirk on his lips, it was quickly squashed as the Winter Soldier does not feel. He was fully naked, his body burning against yours, the only relief from the heat was his metal arm; it hovered your breast. The cool metal in contrast to your body heat made you flinch as he gently pinched your nipple. You sucked in an inhale as the hand made its way to the upper part of your jaw. He had gripped the base of your neck, bringing you in closer. The kiss was anything but innocent, the lewd salvia being swapped as your tongues danced around each other would make a whore blush.
He pulled back, breathing hard and wild. You looked down, towards his body, his cock red and bulging, for some reason based on how he kissed you, you decided this would be different. Your voice was soft, always soft when you spoke to him, “Could you sit down?” There was no hard tone, or direct order, just a question with soft intentions. He hovered as you continued, “You don’t have to, but I,” you hesitated to speak, embarrassment now coursing through your veins, “I-I want… to uh… make you feel good, in a different way.”
Another moment of silence passed before he nodded at your request, “You could sit or lay down or do whatever felt comfortable.” The Winter Soldier kept his eyes trained on you, he laid on his forearms to have a view still. You pushed yourself up, landing on your hands and knees, you were shy and slow as you made your way towards his bulky thighs. One hand rested on said thigh, as the other gripped his cock. You slowly started to pump; up and down. He continued to stare, as you left your mouth agape, allowing his member to slide down towards your throat. He hit the back, you gave a sharp inhale through your nose, continuing to let him slide down until you couldn’t handle the size anymore. You pulled up slightly, letting your tongue slide around the head as you hollowed your checks. The Winter Soldier threw his head back, and let out a groan. He’s made sounds before, but knowing you were able to make him feel so good that he had to break contact, lit a fire in your stomach. You bobbed your head, repeating the action again and again. Letting yourself choke on his cock, swirling your tongue down and around, in circles even.
A freezing touch made its way to your scalp, he gave a soft tug - telling you to stop. You did as instructed, your eyes dark with lust. The Winter Soldier reflected that, the heat in his navel intensified as you asked a simple question, “Do you want me to ride you or get on my back again?” He pondered, never having to choose before, he looked at you then his member, motioning with his eyes for you to sit. You nodded, and positioned yourself over his cock, ever so slowly taking him inch by inch. The sweet burning sensation made your legs quiver. You took a deep breath as you finally met his hips with your thighs, he finally laid completely back. His hands resting on your sides, when you moved up he thrusted upwards, not liking the feeling of your warmth around him gone. You moaned as he did so, the slap of skin echoing throughout the room. He pulled your hips down, driving himself deeper in you.
“Симпатичный,” he said the same phrase as you gasped for air, the thrust winded you in a way, never having someone so deep inside you. He let his hips fall and pushed you back down, the Winter Soldier felt in control for the first time in a long time. He used you, in and out, up and down, his cock entering you repeatedly. His metal hand found your clit, the cool metal made you flinch. He rubbed his thumb of the pearl, gentle but fast. His thrust was becoming sloppy, you held yourself up, hands spread out across his chest. You bounced up and down, little “uh, uh, uh’s” falling from your mouth as the Winter Soldier was deep in you. He shifts forward, throwing off your momentum, now he is sitting up your clit up against his upper pelvis area. He leaned further forward, his lips kissing across your chest until he found your nipple. He suckled the perky flesh, beginning to thrust forward, his metal hand guiding you to fuck yourself on his cock still. Thrust after thrust, the Winter Soldier continued, when the warm feeling in your lower stomach made its way to your pelvis, you clenched as you orgasmed. He followed close behind; your tight heat becoming tighter, your moans sounding like symphony, and how your mouth part opened, gasping for breaths, it was too much for him.
You laid on his chest, becoming too weak to continue, too weak to even hold yourself up. You continued to clench around him, your body slightly convulsing from the pleasure still. With heavy eyelids, tiredness seeped through the body, your breathing started to even out and your body let itself rest. The Winter Soldier gently laid you on the bed, simply staring at your beauty. A h/c strain of hair laid effortlessly across your cheek, he stared at your lips; full, plump and raw. He slowly dressed, his black leather suit clad against his body, a knock on the metal door was heard; a sign his time was done.
Vlad stood there, posted in position next to the door. He kept his eyes trained on the floor. The Winter Soldier halted his footsteps, his gruff voice breaking through the silence, “держи ее в безопасности,” the man froze. The soldat never looked at anyone, he ignored all the other soldiers unless it was a superior officer, and Vlad was not that. He turned to Vlad, eyes piercing his soul. Vlad found himself nodding, in awe and terror; the Winter Soldier spoke to him, the Winter Soldier also trusted this girl to him.
Long h/c hair had the wind flow through it, the feeling of the sun’s warmth cascaded down your face to the body. The soldier that was assigned to you since the beginning, turned around and started to walk away. “Why?” He halted his steps, the question plagued you, and him.
Facing you, his gaze turned ever so soft, “Your name, it was my daughters.” His accent was thick but the words pierced your heart. “What happened to the soldat? Who was he?”
His eyes made their way to your stomach, then met your e/c eyes again, “An experiment. All I know is his name was James, and he was around for a while as a top assassin.”
“Thank you.” He gave a nod, and went on his way. Patting your outfit down, a map was found with the nearest town circled, and some money. Your mind wandered to the Winter Soldier, you hadn’t seen him in a while. With no return and the base scrambling, you figured he must’ve not made it out the mission he was assigned. Glancing down, the swell of your stomach made you  nauseous. There was success in the task that was supposed to add an extra nine months to your life; now freedom was in your grasp, and so was life.

Help a Family in Need
I am reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Mohamad S., who is facing one of the most challenging times of his life. Mohamad is 37 years old and left his homeland in 2015 in search of a safer and better future. He’s a kind, hardworking man, and his small family has always been his greatest priority.
Living abroad, Mohamad has recently endured unimaginable loss and financial strain. Amidst the ongoing conflict in his homeland, his mother passed away, leaving behind his sister and her five young children—the last remaining members of his immediate family.
As the situation worsened, Mohamad managed to help his sister and her children escape to safety in Egypt, covering their immediate needs and securing a temporary refuge for them. Since then, he has been fully responsible for providing everything they need to survive during this transition.
In his efforts to support his family and cope with this devastating loss, Mohamad has found himself deeply in debt. To make matters even more difficult, he recently underwent knee surgery, which limits his ability to return to work for the foreseeable future. This has made it even harder for him to manage his financial responsibilities and the pressing need to provide his family with a stable future.
Mohamad is now working to bring his sister and her five children to join him in Belgium, where he hopes they can find stability and opportunity after all they’ve endured. This transition, however, requires significant resources that he is currently unable to meet alone.
For privacy reasons, we are not sharing Mohamad’s full name, as he has chosen to keep his identity discreet. While he initially refused the idea of asking for help, I couldn’t stand by and watch him struggle alone. I insisted on doing this for him because he deserves a chance to overcome these challenges.
Your contribution will help Mohamad repay the debt incurred during this difficult time, cover ongoing living expenses for his family, and assist with the costs involved in bringing them safely to Belgium.
Mohamad has been a good friend of mine for years, and I’ve always admired his resilience and generosity. Any support, no matter the size, will make an incredible difference in helping Mohamad and his family rebuild their lives after these painful experiences.
Thank you for reading his story and considering helping a man who has always done everything he can for his loved ones.

Rebirth - Ch.1 :
New, new, new... blood
Jasper Cullen × OC 《- Chapters
Summary : Aurora Flores, new blood in Forks.
Word count: 1.6k

Tumblr media
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Aurora Flores was not exactly thrilled about the move but kept that to herself. Sure, was she leaving her whole life behind, her family and friends and everything she loved, but that was okay. No, no it wasn't but she could pretend for her family. She was going to miss LA but her mother got a new job and wanted a fresh start so here she was, going to the dreary Forks Washington with her mom, and grandma.
A new house meant she could get her own room finally and a new place meant a new start, nothing from the past coming to haunt her anymore.
She sighed, 'Yay what fun' as she passed the population sign '3,120 now becomes 3,123.'
Aurora's mom, Amora, pulled down the street from the police cruiser. "Welp I guess no wild parties for you huh? Not with the chief being a couple house down."
"Oh yeah you know me Mom, party animal, the moment you leave this place becomes the new Las Vegas."
Her grandmother, Jacinda, chuckled. "Si, si gran fiesta."
Aurora smiled, "See me and Abeula got this, plus who else is gonna buy the drinks for me."
Amora gave her daughter a playful glare and poked her head. She shook her head. "Alright come on, help Abuela in the house, and come help me with the boxes."
Aurora gave an exasperated sigh but nodded solemnly. "Let's go Abuela," she got out of the car and opened Jacinda's door in the front. She led the older woman from the steps, to the inside of the house to sit on the sofa.
As she rushed out, she heard her mom’s voice, "Oh well… if you wouldn't mind that would be so helpful."
"Oh of course not, here Bella and I will get these two."Aurora peeked through the door,  seeing a father and daughter over their help to her mother. She narrowed her eyes at the sight of their hands brushing and the man giving an awkward smile. Which her mother returned!
Having seen enough of their awkward smiles, she made her way to the car. "Oh Aurora, come here! Let me introduce you to the sheriff and his daughter. This is Mr. Charlie Swan and this is Isabella- oh I mean Bella! Bella Swan."
The man put the box to the side, he held his hand out to shake. Aurora looked the man in his eyes, no alarm bells were ringing, she gladly accepted the offer, giving the older man a small smile, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Swan."
"Charlie is fine."
"Okay cool Mr. Charlie and Bella." Though she didn’t show any reservations, she felt weird calling an adult by their first name; if that was the norm around here though, she wasn't going to argue. "My name is Aurora Flores and my grandmother inside is Jacinda."
The duo pair nodded, Aurora held back her giggle at the similar mannerism of their awkward and unsure atmosphere. “Okay well, I will put this inside for you, come on Bells." The girl, Bella or Bells to her dad, gave the same awkward smile and waved, which Aurora returned.
Her mother got the last two boxes from the end of the car, handing one to Aurora. The young girl took the box, an eyebrow raise evident, followed by a side eye to the house Charlie and Bella entered. Amora held daggers in her eyes, challenging her daughter in a way.
Aurora rolled her eyes at her threatening-non threatening look, she simply shrugged and turned away. Whatever her mom wanted to do she wasn't going to stop her. She entered as Jacinda said, "Que bonita and muy guapo."
They shared a look, not knowing what was said or what to say in response. Aurora put the box she held by the box pile, noticing the two shift and eyeing Aurora. ‘They definitely want a translation.’
Aurora chuckled, "Oh don't worry she just said you were pretty and that you were handsome." Bella blushed and Charlie nodded, with the ghost of a smile playing on his lips.
"Thank you," both said to Jacinda. Her grandmother smiled and winked at the two. She went back to her sudoku game, now completely ignoring all of them.
"I think that was everything. My mom should be getting the last box but I think work might have called her." Aurora shrugged.
"Oh well, I'll go help her in case the call takes long so she doesn't have to do it. You two stay here?"
"Sure,” Bella expressed in a bored tone.
"Got it, Mr. Charlie." He nodded and walked out of the living room.
Bella glanced at Aurora, taking her in. She was pretty, a light tan, chubby, and absolutely breathtaking.
"You know you don't have to call him 'Mr. Charlie’... Charlie is fine."
Aurora flushed, her ears burning, "Oh okay, sorry like I’m used to honorifics… so it would feel weird to just say his first name."
"Oh. I guess that makes sense. Don't worry I'm sure he doesn't mind whatever you call him." Silence hung in the air for a minute before Bella awkwardly tried to fill it. "Um so, uh are you going to Forks High or are you homeschooled?"
"Oh, I'll be going to school Junior year."
"Oh cool me too I just got here yesterday, so I'm a little nervous for tomorrow."
Aurora nodded, "Yeah me too. Especially since it's the middle of the semester, I don't know how far along the AP classes are."
"Oh. Wow, AP classes are rough. To do it in the middle of the year is a little wild."
She chuckled, "Yeah well I'm actually graduating early so I want to stay on track."
"Wow, so you’re like a genius."
"Um no," Aurora laughed, "but I really pushed myself to do this." Bella nodded, awe and intimidation were heavy on her mind now.
Their parents came in, Amora laughing at something Charlie said. Bella didn't say anything of course, but her dad was far from funny. Aurora lifted an eyebrow again but too, did not comment.
Amora went through the door with Charlie trailing behind her, a goofy smile on his lips. "So Charlie and Bella are coming to dinner around 7 tonight! I'll be making chicken alfredo and sausage broccoli stir fry." Aurora wanted to lift an eyebrow again but was afraid it would get stuck there, they were supposed to get take-out. Again, whatever her mom wanted was fine.
A fresh start, a new life.
As Bella and Charlie headed out, Bella waved bye to her and Aurora waved back. Amora was suddenly cornered by her mother and daughter.
" Entonces el jefe de policia... "
"Alfredo and stir fry? Come on mama really?" She groaned, she felt like a teenager again.
"Oh my, look, they were nice enough to come and introduce themselves. Not only that but then help out? So, yes, I am being neighborly and thanking them."
"Sure, 'neighborly'." She air quoted.
Amora pointed a finger at both. "Do not start. You two will behave at dinner. Now let's start unpacking. I’ve got 4 hours till I have to start dinner. I want our new house to be fully finished." She huffed and walked away.
Jacinda chucked at her daughter. She pulled her granddaughter close, whispering, "¿Listo para una hermana?" Aurora laughed and Amora got the chills.
In the chilly November, life was still for the Cullens, for Charlie, but it was excruciatingly  still and lifeless for Alice. Alice was unfocused as she went back home. After feeding Rosalie, she was in a haze of worry and doubt. For the first time in a long time she felt a twinge of hope. As fast as it came, it disappeared even quicker. A twig snapped under her, her eyes went blank, senses were void for a moment, and vision appeared in front of her. It was the same one when she envisioned meeting Jasper, him thanking her for helping him, her in a short green dress and him in a white tie. It was almost exactly like when they first started dating. It was almost perfect.
She never worried about the ever so slight inaccuracies she noticed when she and Jasper first met. Or when he asked her to date him; her dress was a bit longer and his tie was green. The vision was about to end when suddenly a girl appeared next to Jasper. The girl was fuzzy, a haze surrounded her. But here she hugged them both, saying to the happy couple "I am so happy to have you both in my life, I just know you will make each other happy." The vision ended and her senses came back. The vision never went that far; it always cut off after Jasper hugged her.
"Well fuck. I guess I didn't see the whole vision until now."
Rosalie didn't pay attention to what Alice had said as Emmett caught her and twirled her around. Alice dashed to her room, anger and pain filling her body. Luckily Edward and Jasper were hunting together, there was no one to notice. Anger turned into regret and pain turned into melancholy as she began to examine her and Jasper’s relationship. She had loved Jasper, but things were coming to what felt like an end. She had asked Carlisle if he and Esme had something akin to a stall in their relationship. He answered honestly, explaining, ‘Of course, but it was over as soon as it started, and lasted maybe a couple of months. Don’t worry I’m sure yours will be done soon.
Her and Jasper's stall had been going on longer than Esme and Carlisle's, it has been years since they were close; physically or romantically. But even though she now knows they weren’t mates, she couldn't imagine the two of them apart. They were always together, best friends whose souls were so in sync, it would be preposterous to imagine they were not mates. She held her head in her hands, wanting so badly to scream, cry, and rage till the agonizing pain subsided She sniffled, 'Maybe that's all we were destined to be, the best of friends.'
(Loose translation: ready for a new sister)

Rebirth - CH.14 - BALLET
Jasper Cullen × OC 《- Chapters
Word count: 3.6k
Summary: What possible bad thing can happen at a ballet studio?
Tumblr media
Bella heard the voice that sends a chill down her spine
With malice lacing his tone the vampire spoke, “Nice house you have here. Not the best on the block, but comfortable,” he gave a humorless chuckle. The sadistic blonde continued, “I was prepared to wait for you. But then Mom came home after she received a very worried call from your Dad. It all worked out quite well.”
Bella's eyes widened in fear. She felt bile rise to her throat.
“I must say, Forks High School doesn't protect its students' privacy very well. It was just too easy for Victoria to find your previous address.”
In the background Bella could hear her mother, calling out for her, “Bella? Bella!”
Bella could feel the anger coursing through her, “Leave my mother out of this.’
James wore a cynical smile, “I knew there was a reason for me to like you. You're protective of her. That's nice. You can still save her. But you'll need to get away from your friends. Can you do that?”
“I... don't think so.”
“Even if your mother's life depends on it? Come on Bella, I thought you were protective of her. Maybe I should include you little friends family in this”
Her finger tips are white from gipping the phone so hard, she didn’t have a choice if she wanted her mom and Aurora’s family alive, “Where should I meet you?”
A grin appeared on his face, as he caressed a photo of young Bella on her refrigerator. The same photo Charlie has of her, age 7 in a tutu, sitting on the floor. He kept it in his wallet ever since he got it.
James gave a fake pondering sigh, “Hmm. Good question indeed. How about…The old ballet studio around the corner. And I'll know if you bring anyone along. Poor mommy would pay the price for that mistake. Wouldn’t want that now would you?” There was a pause before Bella heard the performative sniffing, “She smells like you. Delicious.” With his last antagonizing chuckle Bella hung up the phone
Bella is in a state of panic over the thoughts of what that… monster… would do to her mom. She starts flinging open drawers, searching for a weapon - a pen, a sewing kit. They utterly useless. Then she remembers… Her purse. She dumps out the contents, and there it was… the pepper spray Charlie gave her. She clinged to it, her only protection now. She looks towards the bathroom door, and quietly goes closer to listen. She could hear Aurora whispering.
“Mama we are fine, we’re almost there I promise… No he’s putting in gas and Bella went to the restroom… Yes I will call you…”
She tiptoes away from the door, careful not a peep of sound is heard from her.
The older human girl makes her way to the lobby, does a quick scan for the two vampires. The two of them are loading the car, looking as if in an intense discussion. She didn’t know if it were for the optics or if they were really arguing about something. Seeing as they were distracted, she looked for a way to leave. She spots a taxi, with one final glance at the vampires she dashes and makes her way on the car.
The old taxi driver coughs, seeing as she took a long drag of her cigarette. Through the coughs she was able to utter a, “Where to?’
Ignoring the moths in her stomach, she inhaled a breath of courage to settle herself down, “8th and Palo Verde, please.” Pulling out of the parking space, Bella looks towards the windows, hoping Aurora wouldn’t notice for a little while longer.
As Bella thought of Aurora, the pit in Aurora's stomach finally dropped. “Bella?” She yelled as she tried to quickly dry her face.
Panic was starting to rise to her throat. She hurriedly yanked the door open and was met with an empty room. “No, no, no … Bella please no.” She ran towards the door hoping to find Bella, maybe barely leaving. She was met with an empty hallway. She swallowed hard and flimsy reached for her phone. As she dialed her boyfriend, she reached for her key to the room and made her way to the elevators. After the third ring Jasper finally picked up.
“Jasper! Is Bella with you? I went to wash me face and then my mom called and then while I-,”
“Princess calm down. It's okay, no Bella is not with us but I’m sure she is fine. How long ago was your call?”
“Uh, fuck, I think maybe max 10 minutes ago.”
The elevators opened and there was Jasper and Alice. She put the phone away and rushed to the siblings. “What are we going to do Jaz? Do you think she went to the ballet studio?”
The couple turned towards Alice, Jasper raising an eyebrow. Alice closed her eyes and took a breath in and waited and waited and waited. Nothing. She shook her head, “ No nothing has changed, meaning the course of action is the same. Bella must have gone to the studio.”
Jasper was hit with another wave of panic from Aurora, “Jasper we have to get her, she couldn’t have gone far!” The panic was unsettling.
“Aurora, it's okay. Jaz and I will find her, you should stay here and wait.”
Aurora’s face contorted in confusion, “What? No! Bella could be in danger right at this moment! I-”
“Sweetheart. You need to say here, trying to keep Bella safe will be hard enough as it is.”
Aurora had her lips in a tight line, she took a deep breath, “So I will be a hindrance?” Alice took a step back.
Jasper sighed, “I am just saying that I don't want my attention split. Would you want me to choose between you or Bella if James's attention turns to you too?”
Aurora had to bite back the frustration, she took a deep breath in. “You’re right, I will be a distraction for you. Just please keep her safe.” Alice came back to the couple, hanging the human girl a new key. She took out her phone and gently shook it. “Don’t worry, we will call you when it’s done. Just relax, Bella is going to be safe and so is your family and so are you.”
“And you guys?”
Jasper gave her a soft smile, “Of course. I will call you darlin’ just gotta wait for me.” She nodded and called the elevator back down.
As she stepped in the elevator, one final glance to the pair of vampires she waved and the doors closed. ‘It’s going to be fine. Bella is going to be fine, so is my family, so is Jasper and the rest of the Cullens. It’s going to be fine.’ She was sure of it, who wouldn’t be? That is until her vision went black and the last thing she saw was a set of pearl white vampire teeth.
Bella was a normal teenager before this. Divorced parents? Not a rare shameful thing of the past anymore. Moody teenage hormones? Every person ever.
‘I’ve never thought of how I was going to die, but having my death the most interesting about me seems depressing. But my luck has always been bad.’ She stared out the window accepting the fa before her. As she stared out the window once again, the familiar polished malls, the manicured cactus gardens, everything she had seen over and over again throughout her life. All empty for the night. ‘Maybe dying saving a person I love wouldn’t be so bad.’
There it was, ‘MIMI’S SCHOOL OF DANCE.’ Big, curly cursive letters almost mocking her. Bella climbed out the taxi, as the car sped off she fiddled with her mother’s ring. ‘It’s worth it.’ Gripping the pepper spray she headed into the building one last time
Bella’s heart was pounding, she slipped the pepper spray in her jeans whilst looking at the building. ‘I won’t regret this decision, whether I die or not it led me to Edward. My last weeks 9f life were happy with Charlie and Aurora and my family.’ She peered through the windows, but to no avail, she couldn't see a thing. She pushed the doors, they were unlocked.
She heard an ever so faint voice, “Bella! Bella?” She scanned around, it was just the mirrors and the open layout. It was empty.
Bella whips around to a voice calling her again. It was her moms voice. She slowly walked to the ballet closet, right as she was about to peer through, her mothers voice rang again, “Bella! Where are you!”
She slammed the door opened and was met with a T.V. and it was a recording of… her? Rene’s voice broke the silence again, “Don't you want to dance, baby?”
In the video little Bella shook her head stubbornly. The camera is moving as Rene handed it to someone else. Her mother came into frame trying to give little Bella a hug as she spoke, “Everyone makes fun of me.”
She squished her daughter in another hug, "Oh sweetie, but you're a wonderful dancer.”
“But I suck.”
As Bella moved closer to recording, a maniacal laugh was heard behind her. James stood behind, grinning that malicious smile he did for all his prey. Bella took a step back, into the T.V. she felt the warm radiate off it.
He stepped towards her, “That's my favorite part. Stubborn child, weren't you?”
“She's not here.” It was not a question, it was a statement. Anger was coursing through her veins, but relief was there as well, her mother was safe.
James gave a humorless chuckle, “Sorry. But you really made it too easy,” He gave a fake sigh of disappointment, “So to make things more entertaining,  I'm going to make a little film of our time together. Borrowed this from your house. Hope you don't mind.” He turned the camera on, “And... action!” In a desperate attempt to save herself, Bella flung her purse distracting him for a moment, she reached for the pepper spray. She sprayed him and ran towards the door.
James laughed, "What an excellent attempt Bella, really.” He was behind her in a second, he grabbed her by the hair and threw her into the mirrors. She let out a blood curdling scream as the shards of glass stabbed through her clothes. He was in front of her in an instant. “It'll break Edward's little heart.” He caressed her face, down to her neck.
He touched her knee, his long nails going upward to her thigh. He smiled and hugged his nails into her wound. She screamed, the pain pulsating throughout her whole body. He put the camera toward her face, “How beautiful, the pain, the blood. The visual dynamic of you, pretty in  your pain.” A sob wracked through her body as she spoke, “Edward has nothing to do with this”
“He will. His rage will make for a more interesting sport than his feeble attempt to protect you.” He sighs, the disgust on his features. “Still stubborn, aren't you? Is that  what makes you special? Because frankly, I don't see it. You are pretty but that's about it isn’t. You’re boring and unresponsive.” He inhales as if he can taste her already, “But I will say that blood of yours smells delicious.
James shook his head, “Too bad he didn't have the strength to turn you. Instead, he kept you this fragile little human. It's cruel, really.” James flipped the camera, Bella made a feeble attempt to spray him again but missed covering the camera. He rolled his eyes, “Well done! You've succeeded in annoying me.” Through her squinted eyes she saw James laugh and his leg come crashing down on hers. Her screams covered the sounds of her bones breaking.
James pointed the camera in her face, “Tell Edward how much it hurts.” He laughs, something he was delighted about. “Maybe your friend can help convince him? Beg him to avenge you?”
Bella was delirious but she heard what he had said, “Friend?” She asked in a croaked voice.
The craze look in his eyes intensified as he stared at her bleeding, life slowly seeping away, “Why of course. If Edwards rage and lack of… vengefulness proves to not be as fun as I want, your darling friend would be a great alternative. Look up.”
Bella’s eyebrows were knitted together, as she was about to look up a drop of liquid hit her forehead. Her eyes opened wide at the site above her, there as Aurora bound and gagged, bleeding as she was strung up. Her eyes weren’t opened.
Bella’s eyes started to water again, James grinned at that. “Don’t worry, she’s not dead … yet. Did you think you were my only movie star?” He chuckled as he stared up at her, “She won’t interfere with your part of the movie, she already had her screen time, and it was glorious. Again, if Edward fails to satisfy the hunt.. Her and the blonde vampire might scratch the itch I so desperately need.”
He leans down closer to Bella’s face, seeing the blur set into her eyes. James inhales her scent of blood. “While she is more vocal and reactive, your blood does smell ever so sweet,” Bella stared at him through half-lidded eyes, the pain and loss of blood finally hitting her.
With one last look over with the camera in James' possession, he gets closer to Bella. He creeps slowly over her, as if she was prey and he was about to secure the hunt with one last finishing move. With his fangs out, he is pulled away and thrown into a mirror. Bella lazily blinks through the pain and sees Edward.
Bella’s voice was hoarse from her previous screams, as she tried to talk to Edward, to warn him James was on his feet as if nothing happened. That sadistic smile never left his face as he charged at Edward. The column Edward was backed into cracked from the force of James.
James eyed Edward, noticing his scent was the only one for miles, “You're alone... because you're faster than the others… Oh but not stronger.” With a single push, Edwards' face shattered the mirrors upon impact.
“I'm strong enough to kill you.”
Edward skin slightly starts to crack. He flung James backward into the mirrors, taking this opportunity he picked up Bella. He quickly scanned and saw the balcony, as he jumped up his eyes scanned upwards and he noticed Aurora. His eyes widened at the visible cruelty, there were gashes all over her body, her clothes stained in blood. In that moment, James saw the opportunity, he grabbed his ankle bringing him and Bella down. Bella was sprawled on the floor and Edward was knocked down.
James made his way to the human on the floor, laughing at the feeble attempt to get away. He grabbed her hand, the sinister grin on his face. He sunk his teeth into her arms and Bella's scream was agonizing. It was full of pain and was ear piercing - it stirred Aurora wake.
Filled with adrenaline, Edward climbed to where Aurora was and hastily got her down. Using her prior position, he dives into James, pushing him into the floorboards. Pushing him into the mirrors, hearing the satisfying cracks.
Aurora weakly opened her eyes, on the broken balcony she watched in horror, unable to do anything. Bella lay on the floor weakly thrashing and screaming. She moved her sight towards Edward and James; he was beaten, cracked, almost broken.
Hearing Bella's gasp of pain, her attention was drawn to Bella. Before passing out again from the pain, she saw Carlisle. “Docte-,” it went black.
He whipped around hearing Aurora’s voice, she was here, her scent vaguely surrounding the … roof? He focused on the person at hand Edward, grabbing his shoulder. James was down, there was no need for this anymore. Edward, eyes crazed and animalistic turned to his father, it took a minute for the animalistic blood thirsty feeling to slowly drain away.
Jasper hurriedly descended on the balcony, freezing upon the sight before him. Aurora lay bloody and battered. Cuts were all over her body, blood dripping from them. Emmett, Alice, and Jasper smelled the blood. Jasper’s eyes were glazed over, he tried to stop himself, he really did. Losing his resolve, he made a dash towards her. Emmett and Alice both flinch at the realization at Jasper, Emmett runs trying to stop Jasper. The blonde is there before the other two have started to move, his shaky hands hovering over the passed out girl. Her heartbeat was slow. He grabbed her hand, he felt his teeth retract. Emmett finally made it to him, throwing him back.
“You and Alice go.”
Jasper gave a growl, “No. I ca-,”
“You can’t control yourself, and Alice… is having a hard time. I’m controlling myself, not for long but more than the two of you.” Emmett takes a step back from her, the blood making him dizzy. “Go, help them and then come back.”
Edward shook off Carlise’s hand and lunged at James again, the vengeance deeply embedded in him now. Carlisle shook his head in disappointment and rushed to Bella’s aid. Her eyes fluttered open, seeing Carlisle in front of her with a worried expression. “Edward!” Carlisle bellowed, almost shaking the ground. She glances at the siblings, tearing James limbs off and finally the head. Creating fire to be sure he was dead and gone.
Edward finally comes back to his senses, going to Bella’s side. She lets out a scream and the agonizing fire spreads through over and over again. Her body starts to convulse as the venom spreads.
Edward watches as the life slowly drains from her, from the blood loss and the venom. Carlisle’s attention was drawn to the wound on her leg, Alice always ready, gave him her belt.
“Her femoral artery has been severed. She's losing too much blood.”
The fire intensified, waking her up from the stupor cloud she was in, “It's on fire! My hand!”
“The venom,” he paused as he tightened the belt strapped around her thigh, “You have to make a choice. Either let the change happen-.”
“No!”
Alice appears, done with the almost ritualistic death, “It's going to happen. I've seen it.”
“It doesn't have to be that way!”
Alice holds her nose and avoids the blood as she rips the sleeve off her blouse and kneels to aid Dr. Cullen.
“It's burning!”
“What's the other choice? You said-”
“Tighter, above the knee Alice-”
“Carlisle please.”
“You can try to suck the venom out.
“I- I won't be able to stop.”
“Find the will to stop. But choose, she only has minutes left. And I have to find Aurora, I don’t know her condition.”
Edward looked over Bella, she was thrashing in pain. He finally decided, “It's alright, Bella. I'll make it go away.”
‘I can do this, I just have to stop,’ Edward locked eyes with Bella, the hazy feeling over taking her again. Edward starts to suck the venom out, and Bella finally passes out from the pain, not before whispering out, “Aurora.”
Edward couldn't stop, the blood intoxicating. Nothing could stop this frenzy he began. Carlisle’s voice was a million miles away. “Stop. Her blood is clean, you're killing her.”
He couldn’t stop, feeling as if he would die if he did. Bella’s eyes flutter briefly, sorrow pooling them. An understanding as Edward couldn’t stop.
Emmett paces back and forth, he couldn't get too close. She was breathing and her heart was beating, she was fine for now. He gripped the railing, ripping it off instantly. “Come guys, you need to hurry up. For the love of God.” He saw the fire spark and James' dead body being tossed. Aurora’s eyes fluttered open again, seeing Emmett made her eyes wide eyed. She gasped in a breath, and Emmett's attention was diverted towards her.
He walked towards her, halting as the blood hit his nose. “Emmett.” It was barely a whisper, but not for him.
“I can't.”
“Please Emmett.”
Curse him and his big heart, he lowered himself kneeling right next to her. “What is it?”
“If… I don't,” she gasped as the pain settled in, “don’t make it”
“Don’t talk like that small fry, you’re gonna be fine.”
Aurora wheezed out a chuckle at Emmett's ridiculous nickname, “stop… take care … of … my family.”
Emmett knitted his eyebrows together, “That's not gonna happen,” her eyes started to tear up, “but you have my word small fry.”
With that promise, Aurora gave a pained smile. Suddenly her heart was slow, her breathing shallow. “Carlisle! Carlisle come here now!”
Carlisle was there in a split second, “This is bad, I don’t I-.”
Well they weren’t strangers to death, seeing someone close always was hard to bear. Jasper watched from afar but could no longer handle being away from her. “Carlisle you have to save her.”
“There are so many wounds. Why on God’s green earth would he subject her to this?”
Jasper gently touched her forehead, the intoxicating smell of her blood had less control over him now that the thought of death was near for her.
“I can turn her.”
Carlisle looked at his adoptive son's eyes, “Are you sure she would want that Jasper?” Jasper couldn’t answer. “Well Bella might not have any reservation about turning into one of us, Aurora might.”
Jasper just shakily touched her forehead, moving the stray strand of hair on her forehead. In this moment, everyone in the building who was conscious felt this heartbreaking sadness, it consumed them whole.
The night passed, a certain heaviness on everyone's mind and heart.

The ride was long. Every couple of hours Amora would call to check up on the teenagers, only Aurora and Jasper would answer. Bella felt as if she would break down, crying if she started to talk to Amora.
While the 4 of them drove, the Cullen family that stayed behind was working hard. Edward, Rosalie, and Esme were off, putting Bella's scent towards the south. Rosalie tore a tiny swatch of Bella's shirt, not noticing as they hurried to the next location to scent.
They stopped every so often to make sure the two human girls were eating, Bella would take a bite but the appetite wasn't there.
Time passes as they drive to the Scottsdale hotel. They made it in the early, early morning. The girls head to the bed and are immediately knocked out. Jasper and Alice lounged around til they woke up again.
Aurora's phone rang and she answered, “Hello?”
Everybody stood still, “Aurora?”
“Mom?”
“Yeah sweetie, where are you guys now?”
“Whose phone is this?”
“What? Oh! My phone died and this sweet girl lended me hers.”
“Sweet girl?”
“Yeah,” Amora turned to the red head,” What was your name again honey?”
WIth full white teeth showing in her seemingly sweet smile, “Victoria.”
“Her name is Victoria, she was passing by diner Charlie and I are supposed to meet but he hasn’t shown yet. Anyway, have you guys stopped at a hotel yet?”
Aurora’s blood ran cold, “Oh how nice. No, we're still on the road, but don’t worry I will call you when we get to a hotel, just go inside and wait for Mr. Charlie. Um, order his favorite pie mom.”
Amora scoffed, “I didn’t know you were the mom here. FIne I’ll let you go so I won't hold up this girl's time but do call me when you do sweetheart, love you!”
“Love you too mom.” The phone disconnected and Jasper got off the phone with Esme.
Her heartbeat was fast, suddenly her hands felt numb. Her breathing was fast and her vision blurred. She stumbled into Bella. Tears were streaming down her cheek but she didn’t even notice when she started to cry.
“Aurora, it's okay, breathe. I need you to breathe for me.” She gasped out a breath. Why was it so hard for her to breathe, she had done it all her life but suddenly there was this immense pressure that constricted her.
Jasper laid his hand on top of hers, “Sweetheart, it’s okay I just got off with Esme and said your mom is fine, eating with Charlie now. It’s okay.”
Alice watched, not knowing what to do. Her and Jasper heard the vigorous heartbeat slow and her breathing return to semi normal.
Aurora felt nauseous. Jasper clenched his teeth, the feeling was overwhelming for him. She looked up at Bella through her teary eyes. Bella felt horrendous, she had put her best friend through the possibility of losing those close to her, all because she wanted to know Edward better. “Our parents are fine, they’re safe.” She guided the younger girl to the couch, Alice ran to the kitchen and brought some pizza that was delivered earlier.
“You two should eat.” Aurora nods but Bella ignores the food.
Bella moves, so Alice sits with Aurora. She went back to the couch where Jasper still stayed. He looked deep in thought.
“Are you…okay?” Jasper snapped out of his trance.
“Yes, I’m fine.”
Jasper saw Bella nod, but her emotions gave it away.
“Are you okay?’
Bella swallowed hard, “They could get hurt. It's not worth it.”
“Yes. It is.”  She was taken aback. For some reason she thought that Jasper really didn’t like her. Jasper continued, “ Edward's changed since he found you. And none of us want to look
into his eyes for the next hundred years if he loses you,” he turned to Aurora’s direction, “I wouldn’t be able to look Aurora in the eyes either. It's worth it.”
She gave a small smile, and the two of them went to where Aurora and Alice were. As Japer sat next to Aurora, Alice suddenly disassociates. Jasper turns to her, wide-eyed with worry, “What do you see?”
Alice eyebrows pinched together and eyes wide, “The tracker. He just changed course.” Jasper quickly sets a piece of paper and pencil in front of her.
“Where is he going Alice?” A hazy flash of room with mirrors pops into her mind with him hovering in the middle.
“Mirrors. It's a room of mirrors.” Alice keeps her eyes closed and begins to sketch out the scene stuck in her mind.
Bella was confused, “How do the visions work? Edward said they weren't always certain.”
Jasper answered, “She sees the course people are on, while they're on it. If they change their choice, then visions change too.”
Aurora peered over Jasper's shoulder, “So the course James is on now will lead him to... is that a ballet studio?
Bella furrowed her eyebrows, “The ballet studio?”
“You've been here?
Bella pondered, “No. Maybe? I don't know. I think I used to take ballet lessons as a kid. The school had an arch like that.”
“Was your school here in Phoenix?” Jasper was worried this was too close if it was here in Phoenix.
“Yeah, around the corner from my house.  But I haven't been there in years,” Bella was starting to feel uneasy.
“Do you have any reason to go now?”
“No. Hell, no. I hated the place.”
Alice and Jasper share a look, trying to figure this out. Aurora felt anxious, the knot in her stomach was starting to grow tighter. Suddenly, Bella was startled as her cell phone started to ring. She picks it up, relief coursing through her seeing who it was.
“Edward? Are you alright?”
Aurora's ears perked up, Bella motioned for her to come over.
Edward was pushed forward from Dr.Cullens' fast driving on the rough terrain, "We're coming over to you, me, Carlisle, and Emmett,” he paused regretting what he had to say, “We lost the tracker. Esme and Rosalie stayed behind to protect your family.”
The sinking feeling of everything going horribly wrong settled in her stomach, “This is my fault. You warned me, but I didn't think I just..,” Aurora laid a hand on Bella’s shoulder.
“Bella, no. We can't change how we feel about each other. That means I have to do everything I can to protect you.”
“I just… I just wish…. When will you get here?” Bella didn’t want to say it.
“In a couple of hours. I will get you and Aurora. The three of us will move locations for the time being and the others will hunt.” Edward was determined to protect them, “Bella, I swear to you, I'll do whatever it takes to make you safe again. You too Aurora.”
Bella started to cry, while Aurora blinked back her tears, “Thanks Edward, keep us updated til you get here.” They said goodbye to Edward, and the two girls sat down.
The day passed and on the morning of the next day Alice and Jasper went down to the lobby to settle the bill. Bella started to gather her things as Aurora went to the bathroom to wash her face.
Bella’s phone started to ring. The caller I.D. showed ‘HOME.’ It was her mom. She answered hastily, “ Mom! I'm so glad you got my -
 “Bella? Bella? Where are you!”
Bella was kind of surprised by the level of urgency her mom was expressing, “Mom. Calm down. It’s okay I-.”
The line went static then Bella heard rustling, “Mom? Hello? Are you there?”

Rebirth - CH.12 : BASEBALL
Jasper Cullen × OC 《- Chapters
Word count: 4.1k
Summary: A favorite American past time activity.
Not beta read.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When the next weekend came, the clouds were dark and grim. Aurora woke up before Bella and made her way down stairs to her grandma actually asleep, only Charlie awake.
"Morning kiddo." She waved, too tired to talk. Charlie gave a huff and went back to drinking his coffee and reading the newspaper. There was no food as Charlie himself just woke up 10 minutes before Aurora.
Aurora opened the fridge and gave a groan.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm too lazy to cook. And we don't have eggs." Charlie put the newspaper down and peered over Aurora to look at the fridge. She was right, no eggs. He scanned, not much in the fridge. He should probably go grocery shopping soon, like today.
He moved and looked in the cupboard. "Do we have milk?"
"Yes."
"Butter?"
"Yep."
"Well I can make mac and cheese, but that is where my culinary skills end."
Aurora gave a fake pensive look, "I guess if that's the only culinary experience you have. Rather than starve." He huffed out a laugh. "I can do it Mr. Charlie, I don't know how you make it and I'd rather not chance extremely dry or basically soup."
He gave an indignant huff this time, "I will have you know that I am a certified board mac and cheese chef."
She gave a deadpan stare but shrugged, "Alright but if this isn't the best mac and cheese I have ever had, kiss that board chef certificate goodbye." He shook her head, she really was her mother's daughter.
Charlie started to cook the mac and cheese, Aurora went back to grab her book. Bella was still knocked out, taking Aurora's side now. She grabbed her phone and saw she had 2 messages. One from Jasper and one from Alice.
'Good morning Princess.'
'Hey Aurora! I stole ur # from Jaz lol.'
Aurora smiled and Bella woke up. "Smiling at your boyfriend?"
Aurora grabbed a small pillow and threw it at her.
The duo made their way down to the kitchen Charlie was cooking. Bella looked to Aurora. "Abuela's finally asleep in the morning, didn't want to wake her." Bella nodded and they went to sit down.
As the girls waited, Charlie was mixing the powder in with the milk and butter. "Need any help dad?"
"No, I got it. Just sit down and wait for the food." Bella nodded, shocked her dad was doing this. The man used to live off cans being heated up in a bowl in the microwave. 'At least he's moved up to a stove.'
Aurora's phone buzzed. 'hey sweetheart, we're having a family game day and want to come?
'Let me ask real quick!
Wait with Bella right?'
'Yes darlin' I'm sure Edward already text her'
True to his speculation, Bella looked at her phone and saw a text incoming. Aurora's mother and grandmother were still asleep, so she turned her attention to Charlie. Bella gave her a look which she grinned at.
"Um Mr. Charlie?"
He gave a questioning look as he sat the pasta in front of her. "Yeah?"
"Would it be okay if Bella and I went with the Cullens to experience a family outing with  baseball?"
"It looks like it's going to rain."
Aurora shrugged. Charlie looked at the two teenage girls. He pressed his mouth in a thin line. "With the whole Cullen family?"
"Yes."
"Not just Edward and Jasper?"
"Nope everyone, his other siblings and his parents."
Charlie internally groaned. "Okay fine. But!"
"But?"
"I want a text every 30 minutes from both of you."
The girls nodded and finished their food, ran upstairs to get ready. Bella opted for jeans and a sweater. While Aurora went with the same style but with a windbreaker just in case, she grabbed one for Bella incase as well.
As Jasper pulled up, Aurora and Bella dashed to the car. Not wanting Charlie to talk again about guns and shooting him. Jasper internally rolled his eyes.
He opened the car door for both girls which Charlie just huffed. He cupped his hands to his mouth, "Every 30 minutes !" He grumbled to himself, "And I will go and shoot both boys if they don't text."
Jasper raised an eyebrow, bemused before giving a wave to the sheriff, and letting Edward do the same, before driving off.
"So are you two excited?"
"Excited for?"
"Baseball."
"During a thunderstorm ?" Asked Bella.
Jasper pipped up, "Yeah it's the only time we can play."
Aurora tilted her head, "I'm assuming this has to do with your vampirism-ness?" She waved her hand circular as she spoke.
Edward raised an eyebrow at her antics but nodded nonetheless. Jasper, ironically, gave a wolf-like grin. They pulled up to an empty field where the Cullens were waiting. Aurora saw in the distance Carlisle and Rosalie playing a bit further away. The girls hopped out of the car and stood behind the cullen boys. Esme smiled at the two humans.
"Isabella! Aurora! Great to see you both again honey."
Aurora gave her a warm hug, as did Bella. "Hi Mrs. Cullen it's great to see you too."
"Hi Mrs. Cullen, and you can call me Bella." Esme smiled again and nodded.
Aurora got her phone out and texted Charlie that they were with the rest of the Cullens. Bella looked at her curiously, "Oh just texted Charlie." Bella hummed as Carlisle and the rest of the vampires came to greet them as well.
"Ah Aurora and Bella, good to see you guys out here. Now I'm assuming you're just here to watch and not play?" He raised an eyebrow with that questioning tone.
Aurora snickered and nodded. "I'll be watching from the sidelines while Bella is the person who called out." He nodded an approval.
Alice squealed and launched in delight, hugging the two. Of course being mindful of Aurora’s arm and Bella's wrist. "I can't wait for you guys to see us play, it's pretty amazing." The pair of humans laughed.
Emmett gave a grin, "Well well well if it isn't a pair of small fries." Aurora rolled her eyes while Bella made a face.
"Oh my god Emmett," Rosalie rolled her eyes. She gave a slight smile to Aurora and a blank face to Bella. Bella kind of shrunk next to Aurora and Aurora wrapped her good arm around Bella.
"Hey Rosalie, how have you been?"
Rosalie gave her side eye, "I've been fine. How about you 'Princess'?"
Aurora laughed and the air quotes. "Never better." Jasper felt the ever slightest jealousy, and Edward smirked at his thoughts. He never knew his brother was like this.
The tension melted off Bella and Rosalie. Everyone felt a bit lighter. Aurora sat on the hood of the Jeep, while Jasper sat next to her. " I'm fine Jaz, really, go play and show your moves off."
He huffed a laugh out loud. "Okay fine, I will do one round and then come back." The brunette nodded and watched her man go get the bat to hit. As the thunder roared in the background once one struck a little closer the ball was flying out into the trees. Jasper's sound was synching with the thunder. Edward raced to get it as Jasper raced around the bases. Edward missed Jasper but a hairline. Bella declared him "safe." Edward gave a mock hurt look at Bellas decision which made her giggle.
As Rosalie got out, throwing Bella a scathing look. Aurora rolled her eyes and shrugged as Bella shot her a look. She felt the nerves start to get to her. Another hit, but as the ball struck the atmosphere started to change. Alice gave a gasp and Edward grew grime. Jasper huddled around his brother and sister as they discussed what Alice saw. Even Rosalie looked worried. Edward rushed Bella towards Aurora, and Jasper rushed towards her as well. He grabbed her windbreaker and rubbed it over himself. Aurora gave a curious look. Edward gave his jersey to Bella, she gave a curious look.
"Put your hair down."
"Oh yes like that's gonna do anything. You can smell her half a mile away." She scoffed.
"What's happening?"
Jasper looked towards Alice, who softly spoke,"They ... they were leaving but then they heard us."
"Heard us? Who heard us?" Bella didn't understand.
Jasper looked angry, "A nomadic trio of vampires. They heard the baseball game through the storm and are coming this way."
"There's three like Jaz said. Victoria, Laurent, and the last one James. He's the one to be worried about. Once he has a scent he likes he won't stop til he has you."
"He's dangerous," Edward murmured to Bella.
Through the distant fog, three vampires emerged. Two men and one woman. Barefoot and auburn eyes. The man with his locs had the ball in hand.
"I believe this belongs to you." Edward tapped his foot to disguise Bella's heart. Jasper followed in tow with Aurora's. Jasper stared each in the eyes, the feeling of disinterest slowly consuming them.
He threw the ball to Carlisle at lightning speed. Aurora tried to calm her heart rate. "Thank you," Carlise gave a smile.
"Could you use three more players?," asked Laurent in what sounded like a friendly manner.
"Of course," Carlise eyed Edward, "Some of our people were going to leave anyway." He gave the slightest nod ever.
Vitoria grabbed the ball on the floor, flashing a seemingly innocent smile,"I have a wicked curveball."
The other 2 men smiled and turned around. Jasper turned in his and gently nudged Aurora towards the car, Edward did the same with Bella.
But as the two teenage girls were headed to the car, the breeze picked up. A gust of wind flew by Bella and Aurora and into James' direction. He immediately halted, his neck snapping towards them.
"You brought two delicious snacks." James immediately jumped into the air. Edward snarled at James while Jasper used his body as a shield, and the Cullen clan rushed to their aid. "The girls are with us," Carlisle spoke in a commanding tone.
"We will not harm her," Laurent was trying to calm the situation.
"Try it," was spit out by Emmett as he saw James crouch lower.
"I think it's best if you leave."
"Yes we can see the game is over. Let us go now James?"
James eyes them both, but ultimately lands on Bella. He darts his eyes back to Edward, a grin, malicious smiling. Laurent touches his shoulder giving a yank and the three of them dash off to the fog whence they came. Edward and Jasper rushed them into the car. Edward tries to help Bella, but unfortunately keeps fumbling.
"I can do it myself," Aurora jumped at Bella's bellow. She had never heard her voice raise. Jasper grabs her hand and kisses her forehead. He climbs into the passenger seat and Edwards drives the jeep, foot slamming on the break.
"James is a tracker. I saw his mind, the hunt is an ... obsession for him, and our reaction, mine really, set him off."
Jasper calms his blood lust. Wanting to kill Jasper set something off of him, something dark.
"I made this the most exciting hunt ever for him," the self disgust was evident and loud.
Aurora's heart dropped and Bella looked like she wanted to hurl. She was pale and clammy, the realization of what was to come made her want to cry.
"The first place he'll go is your house-,"started Jasper.
"He'll track your scent there," finished Edward.
Bella's eyes widened and Aurora felt the tears sting. "But what about Charlie, and Ms. Flores and Ms. Jacinda?!" Aurora was trying to keep the food in her stomach.
"We'll lead your scent away. Somehow." Bella looked to Aurora who had her eyes closed and was taking deep breaths.
"Aurora I - I," Bella couldn't finish the sentence as she couldn't find the words to continue.
A pained smile was on Aurora's face and she grabbed Bella's hand. "We'll figure it out."
Charlie was watching the baseball games on the couch in the Flores house, Amora and Jacinda went to get groceries.
The floor flew open, "Edward I said no."
"Bella, please just think about it."
"Edward, go please, before you make it worse."
"Get out! Now!" She grabbed Aurora's hand and pulled her gently towards her as she shut the door. She angrily threw her shoes on the floor, as Aurora tried to match her speed.
"Bella, please we should talk about this."
"No! Leave me alone." She ran to the shared room and Charlie hurriedly followed.
"Did he hurt you Bells? What happened?"
"Just leave me alone." She slammed the door and grabbed her bag.
Edward was there and Bella shoved some clothes in, "I can't hurt him Edward." He gave her a knowing look as Charlie knocked on the door.
"Bella, did he hurt you?"
"No dad."
"Then what happened? Did he break up with you?"
"I broke up with him."
As Charlie tried to get through to Bella, Amora and Jacinda arrived home. Jacinda went around the back to smoke as Aurora placed the groceries down. She heard Bella yelling and Charlie's pained voice.
"What happened? It thought you guys went to have with the Cullens?"
"Yeah we did but Edward and Bella fought and well… she broke up with him."
As Aurora was about to talk more, Bella started to run down the stairs.
"Your mother isn't even in Phoenix?"
"She'll go back if I call. And I will." She hurriedly put her shoes on.
"You can drive home Bells. It's too far and too dangerous, please stay the night at least."
"No dad. I need the road to clear my head."
She goes to open the door but Charlies starts to block her. "Bells, I know I'm not around much, but I can change that. We can do more things together." The pain in his voice broke Amora.
Bella took a deep breath, her heart hurting for what she was about to stay. "Like watching more baseball on the flat screen? Or go to the Coffee Shop? Same people, same steak, same berry cobbler every Sunday night? That's you, Dad. Not me."
Charlie's expression was full of hurt, "I just got you back Bells."
Bella gave another deep breath, it physically pained her to say, " And if I don't get out now, I'm going to get stuck here like mom did." She moved past Charlie and he watched her go.
"Bella!" Aurora yelled at the fellow teenage girl, and followed.
"Aurora please, I just want to go."
"Bella come on I'm sure what happened can be fixed," Amora said as she followed the girls outside.
"No it can't." Tears started to stream down her face.  Aurora looked towards her mom.
"Bella sweetie, come back. We can talk about what happened and work through this."
"Please Bella."
"Ms. Flores please, I just want my mom." A sob wracked through her frame, and in that moment Amora didn't see a teenager girl but a child crying for their mother. In that moment the tears were real from Bella, the severity of the situation clouded her mind.
She sighed, "Alright sweetie but just please call us."
"Let me go with her," Amora whipped her head towards her daughter.
"What?"
"Yeah, let me go with her mom to make sure she's safe and I'll get the first ticket back."
"Aurora..."
"Please Miss Flores, I want Aurora to come."
"I can't let- i dont-," she struggled.
"If it makes you feel better I can ask Jasper to come, and don't worry it'll be the three of us so me and Jasper won't be alone but he'll be there for added protection."
"Would he even be able to?"
"I can ask."
Amora pinched the bridge of her nose. "Aurora. I am going to be very clear when I say this. Straight to Arizona to Bella's mom and the first plane back here okay? If Jasper is able to go with you, fine but please focus on Bella."
"Mom of course. I'm going to get my bag, I promise mom nothing bad will happen."
Amora had a terrible feeling in her stomach. But as she stared at Bella trying to hide her crying, she pushed it down.
"Bella sweetie," she gently hugged the shaking girl, "Please be safe and if you change your mind and want to come back to this home please do. All I ask is you help keep my daughter safe, as I'm sure she'll do the same for you."
Bella stared at the floor giving a shaky nod. She gave her a kiss on the forehead. "I want a call every other hour and you need to stop at motels to sleep, no driving through the night. And please Bella talk to your dad soon." With a final hug to Bella, she went inside to give her daughter a hug and lay out the rules as Aurora told her Jasper would be going with her.
Amora saw them drive down the road, til the tail lights disappeared from her view. She turned her attention to Charlie, who hadn't left from the spot Aurora moved him to when she gave him a hug.
"She really left huh?" Amora gave a nod. "Of course she did." He stood there, not knowing what to do. Amora opened her arms, and gave him a hug.
"She's a teenager Charlie, all she wants right now is her mom to help with a break up. Even if it means driving hours to see her."
"What about Aurora?"
She gave a low internal groan, "Well Aurora didn't want Bella to go alone, especially in her condition. So she and Jasper will be with Bella and be on the first plane over here." He gave a silent nod, just holding onto Amora.
He cleared his throat, eyes still stinging, "Thank you for letting Aurora go with her. I know you probably didn't want to send her that far."
"Well it isn't ideal, they'll keep each other safe. Maybe Aurora can convince her to come back." Charlie gave a silent nod, and let his body relax into the hug finally.
Amoras head was clouded with worry, her teenage daughter and, well, her adoptive teenage daughter at this point we're going to Phoenix, basically alone. As Charlie wrapped around her tighter, the larger the pit in her stomach grew. She couldn't shake the feeling something bad was going to happen.
Bella was silently still crying, she wiped her tears as Aurora spoke, "It'll be okay Bells, I'm sure he's already forgiven you, he's just worried now."
Edward appeared in the rearview mirror with a thunk, as did Jasper
The two teenager girls jumped, "What the fuck!"
"Oh my god!"
Jasper heard the heart skip a beat, as it pumps blood faster from the scare. He clenched his eyes shut just thinking 'CONTROL,' repeatedly.
Bella pulled over, as she tried to calm herself. "What the hell Edward?" He gave her a puzzled look, "Couldn't have called to pull over ?"
Aurora snickered and got out too,  "Do you think he'll really forgive me? I used the same words my mom did when she left.
"I'm sure Bella. Edward, you were creeping around, did you hear his mind?"
Edward gave her a deadpan stare before answering, "Yes he's already forgiven you, now he's just worried."
A thunk was heard again, and Emmett appeared. Aurora's hurt jumped at the sound, and Bella gave yelp. Emmet chuckled and gave a wink.
"Don't worry small fry 1, it's just me." Bella rolled her eyes.
"Come on darlin we're gonna ride with Alice to ours okay?"
Aurora looked towards Bella, as she gave a nod Aurora took that as an okay went with her boyfriend. "See you in a bit Bells."
The cars started, Jasper inhaled and closed his eyes. Aurora just looked out the window as the trees passed and Alice drove.
They pulled into the house, Esme was standing there waiting to usher the girls in. As the girls went inside Laurent appeared, Jasper was about to rush to him when Esme held him back and Carlisle appeared.
"He came to warn us. About James."
The tension was still there, "I've grown tired of his games. But he's got unparalleled senses. Absolutely lethal. I've never seen anything like him in three hundred years ... And the woman, Victoria, will back him. Don't underestimate her."
Carlise nods and turns toward Bella and Edward. "I am truly sorry for what has been unleashed."
"Thank you for telling us." Aurora's voice spoke behind the hoard of vampires.
"You are welcome dear. Now goodbye." With that Laurent dashed into the treeline, fastly disappearing.
With that the family was quick to move, going to the garage and packing everything necessary. The only one slow to action was Rosalie, not entirely thrilled about having to help Bella.
Jasper spoke without looking up, "I've had to fight our kind before. We're hard to kill." There was a slight tone in his voice of sadness.
"But not impossible. We'll tear him up," Edward reassured Bella.
Emmett's voice was laced with blood lust, "We'll rip him apart with our hands, then burn the pieces." If Aurora didn't know any better she'd think he was happy with the situation.
Dr.Cullen had a pain looming on his face before he spoke, "I don't relish killing another creature. Even a sadistic one like James."
Rosalie scoffed, "If he doesn't get to one of us first."
Bella looked troubled, "This is insane. You can't put yourselves in danger like this - for us."
Aurora gave her a look and it quickly passed but not beforeBella noticed. "What?"
Aurora gave a tight-lipped look, before sighing, "To be honest Bella, I think you piqued his interest more than I did. That smile he gave was directed at you."
Bella paled even more now. Edward stayed silent, Aurora was right. While he wouldn't admit this, he had hoped it was to fall on her rather than Bella. For the briefest of seconds, that thought did occupy his mind.
"Then that's even worse if it was two of okay yes I would want them to protect you but just for me. It's dangerous."
Rosalie huffed,"Too late."
Edward shot Rosalie a look as he grabs two sets of keys off a hook, throwing one set, lightning fast, to Dr. Cullen. Aurora also gave Rosalie a look, who just shrugged her off.
"I'll run Bella south, while you lead the tracker away."
"No, Edward. The tracker thinks you won't leave Bella. He'll follow you."
"I'll go with Bella. Jasper, Aurora, and I will drive her south. I'll keep her safe, Edward." Edward agonizes, for whatever reason he turns to Aurora, silently asking for her opinion.
She furrowed her eyebrows, "That would make the most sense, plus my mom is going to be expecting Bella and I, and maybe Jaz to call her." Edward studies her, torn. An unspoken agreement was made. Edward finally surrenders his keys to Alice.
Edward opens one of Bella's suitcases, pulling out clothes, tossing them to Rosalie. "Esme, Rosalie, put these on so the tracker will pick up Bella's scent.
Rosalie dropped the clothes, snarling as she spoke, "Why should I? What is she to me? Just a danger you've inflicted on us-"
Bella shrunk under her outburst. Aurora grabbed her hand. Before she could defend Bella, Carlisle spoke, "Rosalie," he gently grabbed her shoulders, "Bella is with Edward. She's a part of this family now. And we protect our family" She glowered, but picked up the clothes nonetheless. Carlisle hits the door opener and the metal doors roll open.
Dr. Cullen squeezed Edward's shoulder before he and Esme climbed into the SUV shooting the two teenage human girls apologetic looks. Everyone finished loading up, climbing in cars. As Aurora lets go of Bella, Edward swoops to her side. She leaves them be, seeing as Edward will be without her for a while.
Jasper grabs her hand and Aurora is immediately aware of the fear brimming within her, she tries to soothe her nerves, opting to focus on Jasper's cold hand. He felt like glass in a way, smooth but delicate. She inhaled and exhaled. When she opened her eyes she found an amused Jasper watching her.
"You okay little miss?"
"Yes Jaz I'm fine." He heard the softest beat out of place, but saw how hard Aurora was trying to keep this calm persona on.
Bella is ushered to them by Alice and as they enter the car, Bella's eyes are starting to sting. The older of the two stare at the window as they drive, tears streaming. Aurora moves to the middle seat to hold her hand, no words were exchanged but there was a comforting silence between the both of them.

Rebirth - CH. 11 : MEETINGS
Jasper Cullen × OC 《- Chapters
Word count: 3.1k
Summary: New meetings.
Not beta read.

Bella texted Aurora she would be with Edward, as also texted her Dad and Amora she was out with a friend. Aurora texted 'family meeting at 6 pls' to everyone. Amora already had an idea of what it could be, but Charlie was worried.
Alice left the couple alone, finally, hitching a ride from Emmet and Rosalie. He had his arm around her waist, her head fell in his chest. He read her text as she sent the family meeting.
"So I assume your mom and Bella's dad are together?"
"Yeah... pretty much. I'm glad, my mom hasn't dated or at least brought anyone from home aside from 1 dude named Leo, but I was really small, plus he left back for Spain after a year."
"Hmm. Do you like it?"
"Yeah, I do, I kinda see Bella as a sister now. We even share a room and bed. We just clicked for some reason."
He gave her a hum and nodded. Resting his head on hers. "So does that mean I'll also be interrogated by Charlie Swan the Sheriff?"
He felt her head shift as she nodded, "Oh yeah, for sure."
"Let's go then?" He lifted his head off to look down at her.
"Yeah, let's ride cowboy."
He huffed and laughed and gave her a squeeze. "Okay, Darlin saddle up."
They arrived before Amora, Charlie, and Bella, Jacinda was there, though.
"Hi Abuela."
"Hola cariño. ¿Quién es este?"
Aurora gave Jasper a knowing look. "Hola señora, soy Jasper Hale, estoy aquí para presentarme. También para pedirles a usted y al director Flores que lleven a Aurora a una cita."
Jacinda gave Aurora an astonished look, "Hm. I was certainly not expecting you to speak Spanish."
Jasper chuckled, "Neither was Principal Flores."
"Alright well come in. Hurry up." The pair nodded and went inside the living room where Jacinda went.
"Sit here." Jasper followed her instructions. " And you come with me to get the coffee."
Aurora gave Jasper a look, not knowing how he'd react with human food. He gave a wink, and she was pulled along by her grandmother.
Jacinda put the kettle to re-boil after filling it up. "This is the same boy, right?"
Aurora nodded, "Yes, yes it is."
"Hmm. And do you like him a lot?"
"Yes, yes I do."
"How old is he?"
"18."
"A little old no?"
Aurora pressed her lips together, resisting the urge to laugh. "Well, not as old as my dad or Abuelo."
"You are not that old to spank."
"A joke, I swear."
"You get that humor from your mom, I swear."
Neither heard the door open as Amora and Charlie came in. He made a beeline towards Jasper as she made a beeline towards her mother and daughter.
"And what's wrong with that?"
Jacinda rolled her eyes. Amora gave her daughter a kiss on the head and her mother a hug.
"Come on, let's save Jasper from Charlie."
The trio left the kitchen to the living room catching the last of what Charlie said.
".... I have a gun." Aurora puffed her cheeks. Well, she felt bad. This was a bit funny.
Amora's eyes widened. "Charlie, you cannot threaten the young boy!"
"Boy? He's a young man, and Aurora is a young girl, a minor." Aurora coughed up her laugh.
Amora rolled her eyes. "Calm down. Keep threatening to a minimum or else." Charlie looked away and crossed his arms. Aurora giggled. The door was opened again by Bella and Edward.
Charlie gave a deadpan stare. "Are you serious? Today is just meet the boyfriends or what? Do I seriously have to get the shotgun?"
Bella scoffed, "Dad!"
"Charlie, I'm serious, sit down and zip it." Amora gave a nostril flare, and he relented. He sat down on the couch across from Jasper.
Jasper didn't want to laugh. This was a serious moment, but of all the times for Edward to introduce himself, he picked today.
Edward glared at Jasper for his thoughts. It was hectic in the Flores house as the group migrated towards the dining room that had more chairs and space. Bella and Aurora sat on the window seat as the three adults and 2 vampires sat at the table.
"So Edward, it's nice to meet you."
"It is to meet you too Ms. Flores."
"You're here because you want to ask Bella on a date?" She nodded her head, ‘yes' and eyes widened a bit. Jasper kicks Edward under the table as Charlie watches the brunette.
"Uh yes exactly."
"Okay, good. Perfect. Bella and Aurora, why don't you take Jasper and Edward to the living room so we can talk." The teenagers let the 3 adults in the dining room. Edward tried to read Charlie's mind, but it was like a whisper he couldn't quite catch.
They all sat on the floor. Aurora was the first to speak, "Really, Bella?"
Bella pointed an accusing finger at Edward, "No, Jasper was the one that thought it."
Jasper put his hand up in mock, surrendering, "As a joke! Why in the world would you think this is a good idea?"
Edward huffed and rolled his eyes. Aurora let out a laugh. They all turned to her. "Sorry, sorry, just after living for what I'm assuming is a long time, you still act like teenagers."
Jasper grinned. "Technically, we are. We "freeze" mentally at this age."
"Hmm, then turning while a teenager kind of sucks no? Of course, if you're dying and in need, it doesn't matter, but if you were to turn someone, you would at least want them from the age of 20 to 23. You could pass as a teenager somewhat and then probably until almost 30."
"Yeah well Carlisle didn't really have an option for that for us unfortunately."
Aurora nodded. "Of course, I'm assuming since you're all too young, it was under different circumstances, or of course it could've just been your choice at that age." Aurora shrugged.
Edward nodded. Silence hung in the air for the girls as the boys tuned in to the conversation in the dining room.
"I'm just saying Amora, well Edward isn't ideal, I think Jasper is too old for Aurora."
Jacinda nodded as did Amora. "I know, carino, but he is still a teenager, and yes, would I prefer him to be the same age, of course, but that always isn't the cause. At least he's not over 18 right now because that would be a different story."
Jasper grunted as Edward huffed, trying to keep in the laughter.
"Plus Aurora is an excellent judge of character for such a young thing. And she is very outspoken, so if there is a problem that is big she will come to us for help."
"I just don't like it, but... if you guys are fine with him, I will try to be too."
Amora smiled. "I'm sure he and Edward are fine and nice young men, okay?"
Charlie nodded, "Okay fine. Both girls are allowed to date the ... Cullens. But I swear if either of the two act up, they will be arrested immediately."
Amora laughed, "Of course mi amor, whatever you say."
Jacinda mixed her coffee with her spin clockwise. 'I know.' Was all she thought.
Edward misses it as he laughed at something Bella and Aurora were arguing about.
Edward was curious about something. "If you don't mind me asking, how old are your grandmother and mother?"
"Oh my grandmother is 54 and my mom is 36."
Jasper and Edward's eyes widened. The brunette spoke, "Really?"
Aurora nodded. "Yeah no one really believes me, they think we're sisters or my mom had me like in middle school."
"You mom looks 25 Aurora and your grandmother max looks 40. If I didn't know any better I'd think your family were vampires too."
Aurora laughed, "Honesty I wouldn't blame you." The adults emerged.
Amora was the first to speak, "Okay, so you both have permission to take them on dates. As well as if it goes well and both of you want to, to date! But if their grades drop, this will be put on hold. Okay?" The girls nodded as did the boys.
"Okay, great! You can take them up to your guy's room. Door open, though." Amora raised an expectant eyebrow and was met with nods again.
"Actually, I told um our parents that I was going to ask Aurora out, and they asked that, if you said yes and so did you, to bring her over there. With your permission of course ma'am."
Edward jumped in, "Yeah our mom would love to meet Bella as well if that is uh okay with the... three of you."
Charlie's response was instant, "No." Amora shot him another look.
"One second, dear. Charlie, the other room, please." Jacinda gave a chuckle as the pair left the room.
"Alright, you guys have permission. Just leave. I'm sure your mother is gonna scold your dad. Now go, before I change my mind." The boys stood still, not knowing to wait or to listen to the 'older' woman. Aurora tugged on Jasper's hand, signaling to go. With that, the two couples left.
Jacinda went to the kitchen, hearing the last of the discussion, "-they should meet the parents. Like I said, they are dating, and it's important for them to know us and us them. We'll all get together soon."
Amora heard her mother rumbling around the drawers, "Mom? Where are the kids?"
"Oh, I told them to go. We all know you were telling Charlie here, yes. So to save them time, I said go, it's barely 4, so they can come back at 7. Make sure to text her." She grabbed her lighter and went out to smoke. Amora sighed, and Charlie sat there incredulously.
"So... that's it ? Your mother says they can go and then bam no conversation with us Amora?"
She bit her lip, "Look, Charlie, I told you before that it was my mom, Aurora, and me. My mother helped me with her, took care of her, and helped raise her. Yes, she has a say, not the final say, but is allowed to make some decisions on non-life threatening situations."
Charlie inhaled, "I don't know if I'm comfortable with that, Amora. Bella is my daughter. I haven't been there, and another person comes in and parents her?"
"Charlie. If this is not something you can do, then say it now. We are together. By extension, my daughter and mother follow me, and your daughter follows you. I trust your judgment. Do you trust mine and my mother's?"
Silence followed before Charlie broke it, " I just... I just need time to adjust to it, but you're right. You also have a daughter, and I'm sure you trust my judgment."
Amora nodded, " Of course honey, look, I will tell my mother just to ease up on decisions with Bella in the equation, okay?" Charlie nodded. It wasn't that he didn't trust Jacinda, just that he wanted to raise his daughter even if it was the last couple of decisions.
Jasper went to the side as Bella and Aurora walked to the car. He inhaled the clean air, very minimal blood scent. He inhaled again. Being around Aurora made him dizzy. Her blood was intoxicating. He didn't even need to drink it to be high off it sometimes. But he still needed to control himself.
Edward stayed back, "You alright?"
Jasper gave a quick, stoic nod. As the teenagers climbed in the car, Bella was nervous, as well Aurora. Bella grew pale, and Aurora saw the signs. She grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. Bella felt her worries slowly disappear. They pulled into the driveway and Bella was astonished.
"This is their house?"
"Yup."
"I suddenly feel poor."
"Yeah, I did too. Fun, huh?"
Bella gave a sarcastic smile, and they exited the car. They followed the two boys and entered, Bella started to feel a little weird with shoes on. Spending so much time at the Flores house made her accustomed to no shoes in the house. The pairs heard the clanging of pans and pots.
Jasper and Edward gave a look. " We told them it wasn't necessary to do this."
He gently guided Bella, "Do what?"
They made their way to the kitchen, and there was the rest of the family, cooking.
"Oh." Bella said dumbly.
"She already ate."
Rosalie cracked the bowl, "Of fucking course." She stormed off with Emmett following her.
Bella looked panicked, "She didn't want to make us uncomfortable with food."
Esme gave a sad smile, "Of course, sweetie. That was very considerate of you."
Bella felt her throat dry, distressed she was making a bad impression. Aurora noticed, as did Jasper. Edward was slow to catch on.
"Hello, Mrs. Cullen! It's alright. I haven't eaten, but Bella could have a bit to try it out." Esme brightened.
Bella's heart started to slow, and the sensation came back to her hands. "Hi Bella, I'm sorry we didn't- well I didn't introduce myself. I'm Esme and you know your doctor and classmates."
The younger girl smiled, "Hi Mrs. Cullen, nice to meet you."
"Esme is fine dear, like I told Aurora. Now both of you come here." She brought the two girls over to the island, excited to have someone to provide for.
Jasper and Edward made their way to Carlisle to help and talk to the doctor about the family. Jasper slowly distances himself a bit further. Being surrounded by humans more now was taking a toll on him. He went to the hallway where Alice was waiting. "Had a vision?"
"Hmm more like common sense."
"It's difficult, Alice. Aurora is this weird combination of desire but calm. But mixed with everyone else, it's hard. I feel thirsty, constantly." He hunched over and got less blood filled air.
"Don't worry, you won't hurt them. Trust yourself, Jaz, Aurora does." She gave a wink and made her way to her adoptive parents to gab with the two human girls. One final breath, and Jasper made his way back to Aurora. She was being served, and as she took a bite, she covered her mouth laughing at Esme's joke about their warm bloodedness.
Jasper felt as if for the slightest second, he was a normal teenage boy bringing his girlfriend home to meet his finally. He saw as Aurora lifted the fork to Bella, who exclaimed it was 'really good.' He saw his adopted mom smile. If only that dream was true.
Edward saw the vision if they were really adopted by Carlisle, all of them humans ignorant to the supernatural. How peaceful it would be, how... normal.
As Aurora finished her plate, Edward whisked Bella off to show her the rest of the house. Jasper hovered around, and his dad noticed. He silently made his way to his adopted son, "Everything okay, son?"
Jasper gave another stoic nod for the night, and Carlisle sighed. He was finally less of a recluse, but something probably happened to give him to worry.
'What if she doesn't want to become a vampire? What if she hates it?' And so the spiral began.
Aurora turned to Jasper as his family discussed another topic, only to see him staring off to space. Jasper heard the chair move and snapped out of it as Aurora's face came into a few. She gave a warm smile, and he gave a crooked one back.
"Everything alright, cowboy?" He raised an eyebrow at the nickname.
"Yes, darlin, everything is fine." His family noticed that ever since he was enamored with Aurora, the country drawl began to slip.
His girlfriend smiled, "Okay good," she clapped her hands, "your father said you were good at doing lassos. So, obviously, I have to see it with my own eyes."
Jasper went to look at Carlisle, who was surprisingly busying himself with the dishes. Esme gave him a wink and went to help her husband. And Alice had disappeared altogether. He shook his head and gave a laugh, "Alright princess, let's go show you my Texan moves."
The older coupler smiled, a good feeling settling into their bodies.
As Jasper and Aurora headed to the garage to find rope, Aurora’s phone buzzed.
'Where are you? Where was our text?'
Panicked settled on her features. 'Omg I am so sorry. I was going to text you, but then Mrs. Cullen came to greet us and made us food, and I forgot.'
' -.- thin ice
You have an hour left then you and Bella have to come home.'
'Got it:P see you in an hour'
"I'm taking that panic emotion was from a text from your mom?"
"Yeah, ever since the bear incident thing and the whole um woods thing they want text from us to keep track and everything."
Jasper avoided eye contact, "Yeah that makes sense. Might have you do that with me too, I'm sure I can find you a lot easier and faster."
She rolled her eyes at his tease, "Shouldn't you be finding a rope?"
He put his hand up in mock surrender, "Alright miss bossy. Let me find your rope." He gave a laugh, and Aurora smiled as she texted Bella their time-frame.
The hour passed, and Aurora and Bella were saying their goodbyes. They made their way home, saying bye to the two vampires at the door. Amora gave the boys a wave and smile and she watched them drive off. While Charlie glared at the car from the window.
Before the Cullens left, they promised the girls to see them soon. Night passed with a little lecture of being responsible and not to be persuaded and to notify them if anything happened.
As they closed the door, after brushing their teeth and washing their faces, they were met with two grinning vampires.
Aurora turned to Bella. "It's up to you, but there is an extra room for you to have across the hall. It's storage since we were too lazy to put it in the attic. For moments like this, in case you guys want ... space later on."
Bella thought and then spoke, "Maybe later."
Aurora nodded. She and Jasper sat on her window seat. Well, Bella and Edward lay on the comforter on the floor. When it hit 12, Aurora and Bella started to doze off, trying to keep the conversations going but failing. The vampires put them on the bed and kissed their foreheads before sprinting off home.
Sunday morning, and the girls rose. Aurora blinked as the sunlight hit her. The room was empty, and the two of them lay next to each other. She remembered nodding off with Jasper on the window seat, and then that was it. 'They must put us in bed before heading out.'
Another week passed as the girls went through the mundane life of school. Jasper and Edward would take them home together and stay if Amora asked, which she always did. Amora had been leaving early this week to take it easy and rest. With the constant late night meetings and having to talk to the boards, she deserved some rest. She would rather have them in places she could see them. Charlie would always roll his eyes when he came back from work, and the boys were there in the living room or leaving as he got there.

Rebirth : Ch. 10 - TRUTH

Summary: Some truths are finally out.

'Calm down. Calm down.' Before the man had his wind pipes completely crushed, Aurora touched Jasper's hand.
"Jasper, calm down. You need to calm down, please." His anger slowly started to vanish. The man was dropped, gasping for breath, and the man on the floor was let go. The previous group of men before scattered.
With steady breaths, she gingerly touched his back, "Please, Jasper, calm down." With his anger and bloodthirst leaving him, he let Aurora continue to touch him.
He turned to face her and looked into her eyes, a weird calmness before him. She gave a smile, and warmth was radiating off of her.
The silence was broken by Aurora, "Feel better?"
Jasper nodded, not being able to open his mouth, fearing his blood lust for Aurora would go out of control. Aurora felt her phone buzz from her mom and Bella.
She texted her mom that they stopped by a bookstore before eating, which they were about to do, and how they also ran into Jasper and Edward. And, to Bella that she was alright and would head to the restaurant.
She looked about at Jasper whose eyes were still glowing. "Jasper?"
He gave a hum.
"Let's go to the restaurant, sort some stuff out, yeah?"
Jasper nodded and followed her. He should be feeling this undescrible blood lust, and it was there in shadows, but it was at bay with Aurora. He was worried it would come out at any moment with her. They arrived and saw Bella and Edward waiting by the car. As they met, Jessica and Angela came out. They claimed to have errands to run but winked as they left.
Aurora requested 2 different tables winking at Bella, mouthing, 'Get some.' Bella blushed and flipped her off. Jasper gave a small smile at their interaction, as did Edward, but he wouldn't admit it.
They sat in the booth as Edward and Bella sat a couple booths down. Aurora sent a quick text to her mom that they split up because the girls had to leave quickly to do errands and that her and Bella would be home after finishing eating with Edward and Jasper. Amora wasn't thrilled but said okay and to hurry.
"So."
"So..." was Jasper's intelligent reply.
"Want to explain what that was back there?"
"What was what princess?"
"Hmm, don't play dumb Jasper Hale. How was it that you, who was in Forks 15 minutes before that whole... then appeared with inhuman strength, threw a man to the ground and picked him up by the throat, one handed might I add, and then proceeded to crush his bones. Any thoughts on how you did that?"
Jasper threw out a sigh. "Fine."
Aurora raised an expectant eyebrow.
"I have a feeling you might already know though Princess."
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't. I would like to hear it from you, though."
"I am... a .... vampire." He said slowly.
Aurora nodded her head. "Yeah, that still sounds fucking impossible."
He gave another nod, knowing it sounded bizarre.
"Not only that but I can sense and control emotions."
She smirked, " You can sense desire?"
He gave her a wary look and nodded. Right after he was hit with intense desire. His eyes widened and he stared at her incredulously. A few tables down Aurora heard someone choke on water. It clicked. "You can feel and control while let me guess, Edward can read thoughts."
There was no room for debate. "Did you think that just to find out."
"Yes and no, I wanted to see if you were lying and I had the sneaking suspicion that he could because whenever I would insult him in my mind his ears would twitch and every now and then he'd stopped himself from snapping his neck to look at me."
"You're very observant."
"Yes, well, I know. Is that why you kept blowing me off at first?"
He nodded. "Okay what changed your mind?"
"You, Princess. Physically I can't be away from you and mentally neither."
"So is this your way of asking me out? Confess feeling intense... desire to be near me?" Aurora tried to hold in her laughter as she said ‘desire.’
If vampires could flush, he would. Who would've thought. He gave a humorous huff, "Yes, very intense. But you are 16, so at the same time, no."
"Oh that's right you like what, hundreds of years old. This makes you a pervert, and Edward." Jasper felt the embarrassment roll off Edward.
"Well that may be I was also turned at 19, so to the human eye we are 3 years apart."
She nodded her head. "When do you turn your 'original’ age?"
"October. "
"Okay, after 3 months, I'll be 17. It'll be fine." She waved a dismissive hand. He raised an eyebrow but didn't comment. Aurora looked at the time and nodded to the door. "Let's go, Bella, and I have to be home." They made their way to Edward and Bella, Edward not being able to look her in the eye.
"Let's go Romeo and Juliet."
Edward spoke as he drove. "Carlise wants me to take you to the sheriff department. There's been another attack." As anxiety spoke, Aurora tried to stay calm. She felt bad that Jasper was suffocating these ever so changing emotions. Edward looked at her in the rearview mirror. Their eyes met, and he raised an eyebrow while she gave a small smile.
'You can hear me right?'
He looked away and nodded. 'Did you tell Bella?'
With the slightest ever shake no, Aurora nodded. She grabbed Bellas hand and gave a squeeze of reassurance,' Did you tell her about the mind reading thingy?'
No response. She let go and gave a pay on the thigh. 'Did you tell Bella about the mind reading thing?' He looked back up and gave a slight nod.
They made it to the police station. They met with Carilse, and he gave the rundown of what happened. Bella nodded to the door, and Aurora shook her head no. "I think it'll be better if it was just you Bells. When he comes out, I'll give him my condolences." Bella furrowed her eyebrows but nodded.
Aurora sent a quick text to her mom about what happened. And turned to Edward and Jasper. "You two can head off, I'll wait right here for Mr. Charlie and Bells." Jasper wanted to disagree but Edwards and dragged his brother off.
Bella came out as the stretcher went inside the truck. She had a sudden realization and gave Aurora a look. With a nod of agreement, she went silent. Charlie came out, and he looked haggard. Aurora came up to him and gave him a hug. "I'm sorry for your loss. Bella told me about him, and he sounded like a good man." His eyes watered again. He blinked them back and gave a cough. He returned the hug.
"Thanks kiddo. Let's go, I'm sure your mom is worried about us."
As the girls came inside the house with Charlie, they met with Amora.
"Was this ploy to go out with your boyfriends?" He asked ever so eloquently. Amora squinted at him and turned her attention to the girls.
Aurora's eyes widened. "No I promise. We went to the bookstore where Jasper and Edward were and they gave us a lift to the dinner but the girls had to leave because Jessica still didn't find a dress and she wanted to get one for sure today. We already got ours so we decided to eat." She said holding the bags up.
Amore tilted her head. "Okay, fine. Let me see the dresses now." She rushed over and started to take out the dresses.
"Oh wow these are so pretty. Are you guys excited?"
Aurora nodded while Bella shrugged. Charlie rolled his eyes, 'So much for an interrogation.'
They entered by Jacinda, "Hurry up and come over here, I made horchata and conchas!" Aurora's eyes lit up and they all went to the kitchen. They night was spent talking about Prom, and their maybe dates.
Bella and Charlie were spending less and less time at their house, and more time at the Flores house.
As the girls went up and Jacinda left the room, Charlie was given a hug from behind while he sat on the stoll. "I'm so sorry mi amor. I'm sure he's in a better place now." Charlie choked back the tears and nodded. He turned and returned the hug properly. His head laid on her chest with her running her fingerings through his dark hair.
Aurora was on the floor drawing while Bella sat in the bed reading the book. Neither knowing what to say about the truth that was revealed. Bella glanced over and saw Aurora's drawing, vampire teeth.
"I thought I was going crazy when Edward told me."
Aurora glanced up, "Yeah me too."
"If Edward can read minds what can Jasper do?"
"Manipulate emotions."
Bella raised her eyebrows in shock. "Damn that seems kinda cool to be honest."
"Yeah but it's exhausting though, he said he can also feel everything. Imagine how draining that could be the constant mix of emotions all the time. I would be wrecked."
"You're right, I change my stance. It sounds horrendous."
"Are you..." she was hesitant to ask, "are you afraid of them now?"
Bella pondered before speaking, "I don't think so." Aurora nodded her head. They went back to silence as they thought about their respective love interest before going to sleep.
When morning came, Amora and Jacinda were making French Toast, one of Charlie's favorites. Charlie was already eating, as they stumbled down the stairs half ready. As they ate and the Mexican music filled the room softly, Amora spoke.
"Because of what happened to Billy, we don't want the two of you going off alone anywear. I know you too are practically attached to the hip, which is good for this... unpleasant situation happening but still. We want to be informed wherever you go out where and who you're with, but now with more frequent updates. Even 'still at the store' or 'still with so and so.' Okay?"
The girl nodded understandingly and Bella gave her dad another hug and a squeeze. The rest of the morning was filled with silence till they all left the house, including Jacinda for bingo.
As they got to school and the bell rang, Bella made eye contact with Edward. Aurora looked at Bella who stared back, she shrugged, "Be careful, and text me."
She got a nod in return and was whisked away by Jasper. "Hey there Princess."
She warmed to the nickname. "Hey there cowboy."
"So when am I going to be able to meet your family?"
"You still haven't properly asked me out." She gave a shrug as they sat down. Jasper grinned, teeth poking out.
"Okay Princess, give me till the end of the day."
Aurora gave him a look but turned her attention to class. Her phone dinged.
'Hey sleepy! Just watched Pan's Labyrinth and omg you were right it fucking awesome! Might just take you up on the lotr set
...theyre just so long tho :|'
'He confirmed! He hath confirmed!!!'
Jasper never envisioned himself as the jealous type, but a tinge did stir as Aurora smiled at the phone. She felt his gaze and saw it for the slightest second.
She hid the smile, and whispered, "Embry is still my friend Jaz, plus I think he's moved on to someone else. And Bella was just texting me that Edward confirmed her suspicions." She stuck her tongue out and winked.
Jasper was always amazed by her, she always radiated warmth and content and happiness to him. He loved being around her.
The day passed as Bella and Edward snuck back into school, promising to come together to school tomorrow. Bella was on cloud nine and Aurora was amused by her.
As the last bell rang for art, Alice dragged Aurora to the parking lot. "Alice calm down! I'm going." She said with a slight whiny tone.
As the doors opened, Jasper stood by his car. With flowers, balloons, and a card. She slowly walked to him.
"What's all this ranger?"
He smirked, "Open the card and find out."
She did as instructed.
A poem was inside.
"To my beautiful Aurora
You are just as hypnotizing
As the lights in the sky
The stars, moon, and sun
Pale to your beauty
All I ask for is a lifetime
With you by my side
To aid and love and to hold
Forever."
Aurora gave a small smile whilst teasing Jasper, "This feels more like a proposal Jaz."
He gave a soft and wrapped his arms around her waist gently. "In time little miss."
She blushed at the thought but didn’t respond to that part, "Hmm this card didn't have a question though, to answer that is."
The smile widened, "Miss Aurora Flores, will you go out with me?"
Aurora found herself exuding happiness, she nodded.
Jasper hugged up carefully, watching her arm. Some people looked with awe, some with exasperated eye rolls, others with boredom, but Alice squealed.
"O.M.G. I am so happy for you two!"
She went to the other side and jumped them in a trio hug, Aurora laughed as did Jasper.

As the pair headed to class, the rumors spread to the faculty by the end of the day. Amora felt a knot in her stomach when she heard the secretary tell her the latest gossip that involved her daughter. She grabbed the phone and texted her daughter.
'Mija be honest
Are you dating the Hale boy?'
Amora stared at her phone in her office. It took Aurora 30 minutes to answer. She was in class before asking to use the bathroom.
'No why?'
'Aren't you in class!
Why are you texting!?'
'You texted me first, in class...
And i went to the bathroom
We are watching a novela in class'
'A novela ? Really?'
'Yea the teach thinka itll help with our comprehension of convos'
'Oh...'
'Yea...'
'So you not going out with him?'
'Well no
1) im grounded
2)im grounded
3) he has to wait til im ungrounded'
'Want to be grounded til college?'
'I was kidding- kind of
But srsly were not
He wants to but i said to wait til im ungrounded.'
'Hmm.'
'Yea... okay going back to class. Love u!'
'Love you too cariño'
Aurora headed back to class, mind racing of her mother knowing of the high school drama. She walked into what felt like another brick wall, but alas, it was another Cullen. Emmett, if she remembered correctly.
"Hey there small fry."
Aurora squinted at the insult? She wasnt sure what that was but she wasnt going to bother to ask.
"Hey there big mac?"
He huffed a laugh, grinning as he said, "Shouldn't you be in class?"
"Shouldn't you be too?"
"Touche." With a wink, he walked off, and Aurora did the same. She swore to her grave that the Cullens were super fucking weird sometimes, but she shrugged as long as they weren't killers.
Friday rolled around with lingering touches and playful banter during class. It was lunchtime, and Jessica and Angela were buzzing with excitement. "Hey, do you guys want to come dress shopping with us in Port Angeles next weekend?"
"Isn't Prom like months away still?" Bella asked confusedly.
Jessica rolled her eyes and gave an exasperated sigh, "Yes exactly, we got to go now to get the best dresses."
Bella had an idea pop into her head. "Sure, we'll go!" Aurora shot her a look but went along as she nodded yes.
Bella gave a grin, and Aurora sighed. As the school day ended, Aurora remembered something.
She pulled Bella to the side. "Um we're still grounded."
"Fuck youre right."
"We can still ask?"
"Uuh... I guess. I seriously doubt we'll be allowed, though. Well, at least I won't."
Bella blew out air and nodded. "If you or we can't, it's okay. We can go when our grounding sentence ends."
Jasper saw the two girls scheming but left them to their own antics. He waved bye and winked towards Aurora. Bella looked over from her gaze and gave a small wave towards the man who made her friend into putty. He smiled and waved back. She never really thought about it, but Jasper and Aurora made a cute couple. Opposites attract that type of thing. With her soft and seemingly warm personality and his dark western bad boy look… they weirdly fit.
As the duo got dropped off, they waited for Amora and Charlie to come home.
Around 8, Charlie arrived, Amora welcomed him home, and they sat at the dining room table with coffee, and she reheated his plate. They girls waited til Charlie ate before asking.
They slowly made their way to the table. Charlie finished dessert, and Amora side eyed the two of them.
She filled the silence, "What do you two want?"
They gave a sheepish look. Charlie spoke, "If this is about plans, nope. You're grounded."
They gave a dejected look, and Amora rolled her eyes. "Charlie's right. But what were you two gonna ask?"
Bella gave Aurora a look, which she rollled her eyes to. "We we're gonna ask to go dress shopping with Angela and Jessica for prom next weekend in Port Angeles... we know we're still grounded, but we thought it wouldn't hurt to try and ask."
Charlie and Amora shared a look. "Next week, right?"
The girls nodded, Bella's sentence would be up more or less up by then, but Aurora still had a week to go. Amora looked at her daughter. She's heard worst stories of drunk teenagers, and she knew in her heart that that was the only time she ever drank. Aurora, her daughter; the straight A student, the artist, the... growing teenager.
"Okay, fine. Bella will not be grounded by then, and Aurora yours will be up too. Just please, no more drinking in the woods. I know you guys are teenagers and that it seems fun, but it's dangerous. Not only that, it's in the woods, which is even more dangerous. You two need to stick together if , god forbid, that ever happens again. Promise me that that is the last time we will ever hear such nonsense?" Bella was bemused. She had hardly been scolded by her mom and less so her dad. As long as she was breathing and fine, then that was the end of it, really.
"Yes, Mama."
Amora turned her gaze to Bella. It was strong but warm. She found herself nodding, and Amora smiled.
"Okay. Go finish your homework, Charlie, and I will make cookies. Oh, and your appointments are on Monday at 1, so Charlie is going to take you two to see Dr. Cullen."
The girls nodded and headed to Aurora's room, ecstatic. Charlie looked at Amora, who just smiled at him. "So should we tell the girls?"
Amora shrugged. "I'm sure they worked it out by now Charlie, they're smart girls."
"Yeah. You're right."
Comfortable silence took place, and Charlie and Amora held hands and drank their coffee in peace.
Jacinda saw the two and smiled, 'Finally after 9 years,' she thought to herself.
The girls were all but jumping for joy. Excited to br off house arrest, basically.
"Okay, so the real reason I want to go is to find abook about vampires. There's a shop close by that is run by another native tribe and they have books on this!"
Aurora nodded. "That makes sense. Okay, let's do that, we'll shop and pick something out to incase my mom and Charlie ask and then go to the store."
Bella nodded. "Perfect."
After some cookies and small chatting with Amora and Charlie, the girls returned to the room and slept. Aurora felt Bella shift beside her. She rose when Bella did. She turned to her head to the corner to what Bella was seeing and saw a figure. She blinked, and it was gone. She shook her head.
"Hey, are you okay?" She asked groggily.
Bella layed back down, "Bad dream." Was her hoarse reply. Aurora nodded, a bad feeling pooling in her stomach.
The pair fell back asleep, and Edward watched from the treeline. His head was in the back by Rosalie. "Are you serious?" He groaned. "I'm telling Jasper." He groaned again and followed as she dashed home.
The next follwoing days passed, neither of the girls seeing their love interest.
Jessica sunbathed, "Yeah, the Cullens always leave when the sun is out to go hiking and rock climbing. Tried that with my parents, and it was a no-go, of course." She rolled her eyes and continued on. Angela nodded at her statement, "Yeah, it must be nice though, family bonding, I guess." Aurora nodded, and Bella did as well.
'Fishy.' The girls simultaneously thought.
On Wednesday, Aurora brought the paper Jasper left in your notebook. She was starting to worry, but if this was the norm, then everything had to be alright, right? She entered the number and started to text.
'Jaz?'
'Who is this?'
She giggled. 'Who do you think?'
'Princess?'
'You call every girl you give your number to Princess?'
'Maybe I do.'
'Hmm I guess I got the wrong number, I'll throw the note you left in my sketchbook away then.'
'Little miss'
'Sorry that doesn't ring a bell?'
'Real funny Princess.'
'Hmmm... still no bell...'
'Aurora.'
'You know now that I think about it you don't use my actual name much.'
'Hmm. Really?'
'Yup :P.'
The bell rang. 'Gotta go, to school, ya know.... the thing you've been missing.'
Her phone buzzed again, but she couldn't check it. Class droned on and on and on til she was finally able to check her phone.
'Do you want me to call you Aurora instead?'
'I like your nicknames but I would like you to call me by my name I like you voice, I'd probably like it more whenever it says my name lol.'
The end of the day rolled by, Bella and Aurora said bye to the two other girls as they headed out of the school building.
'Gotta go :( still grounded.'
'Omg! I forgot to tell you since you haven't been in school but it lifts this weekend! '
'Thats great :) I guess I have to get ready to ask huh?'
'Yup okay bye see ya hopefully tomorrow ♡.'
'Bye Princess
...
♡.'
"You texting your boyfriend?"
"He's not my boyfriend, and yes, yes, I am."
"You think if you ask if he's a you-know-what, he'll tell you?"
"Um, probably not. He'll probably have to like kill me after since I'm sure it's like a secret Bells."
Bella nodded her. "You're right. He'll suck you dry."
As the night passed, Jasper watched her from afar. He heard a twig snap behind him. "Spying too?"
"I'm not spying." Huffed an angry Edward.
"Yeah, and trees aren't green."
Edward saw Aurora touch Bella, and her thoughts went quiet. He furrowed his eyebrows but didn't comment. The sibling duo watched the girls, Jasper could feel the happiness radiate off their room, especially Aurora's.
Aurora could feel the eyes on her but didn't comment. When she left go if Bella, Edward heard her mind. 'It feels like someone's watching us.'
"Let's go." Jasper gave him a look."You're hyper-aware girlfriend can sense us."
"Really?" He gave a grin at her sharpness.
"Yes, really." Edward rolled his eyes at Jasper, and they left home.
Aurora sighed in relief, feeling the pressure of their presence gone. Bella noticed her relief and felt the same. "You know, every time we're together, you're like infectious."
Aurora laughed, which Bella almost felt compelled to do so too. "Huh? Maybe I'm a witch who can control people. Who knows with apparently vampires existing."
Bella snorted, and the pair continued to research about vampires.
With Friday coming and going, their grounding sentence was lifted. The pair was dress shopping, having to help each other in their dress aince both of them were still in cast. Bella liked a blue dress with tiny stones in the bust and glitter concentrated by the stones but slowly fading out. Aurora picked a dark blue with suede patterns leaves. It had a small slit on her right leg.
"You look pretty!" Angela said the pair as they walked out.
"Yeah. I'm a little jealous," Jessica laughed.
"I think these are the ones." Bella nodded. She truly did not care, anything to get out of here. As they were rung up, she told her mom while she found her dresd the girls were stilm devating so it woukd be a little longer, they were gonna probably going to eat out there and get dropped off.
Her mother agreed, telling her to text her when they were going to eat and when they were on the way home.
They left the two explaining that Bella needed to buy a book out here and they'd meet them later. They were waved off, and the girls left. As the sun set and twilight started to fall, they made their way to the restaurant. They heard male voices and laughing trailing behind them. They shared a lot and turned down the street and then again and then down an alley, trying to lose the group. To no avail, though, as in the end, they were trapped. The men started to surround them, touching Bella's face and her waist. One grabbing Aurora's ass.
They pushed the men away, and right before the group was able to do more, a figure from the shadows appeared as did a car. The blonde blur gripped one of the men the throat, and another was thrown, and one the figures was now was stepping on them assaulters to keep them still.
The sound of bones being slowly crushed was heard. Edward ushered Bella into the car, and as he was about to get Aurora, she was already too close.
A whispered and thought was heard by Edward. "Leave." 'Now.' Something about her tone and her made him follow without question.

The next day Aurora and Amora talked before Bella arrived. "Cariño, you know you're grounded right?"
Aurora nodded her head, "Yes Mama."
"Only Bella is allowed over, and if you need to do an assignment with Jasper, the school's library is the only place for now."
Aurora nodded again. "I'll let you keep your phone in case of an emergency but when you come home give it to Abuela."
Aurora nodded a third time. "Now come here." Amora gave her Aurora a hug, the anxiety and worry she felt was unparallel to anything she had before.
"2 weeks. After that you can have your phone. And 3 weeks it's open to friends."
"Okay Mama."
The alram clock rang, Amora let go of Aurora and grabbed the breakfast sandwhiches she made. "Let's go mi amor. I have a meeting before school starts." Usually Bella would come in and eat breakfast before leaving but it was breakfast sandwiches on the go.
They opened the door and all went into the car. Aurora explained the change if usual plans as tbey got in.
They sat at the steps of the school.
"So grounded?"
"Yup."
"How long?"
"3 weeks."
"Me too. Except I only got the sentence of 2."
"We will be under lock and key."
Bella nodded.
"You still texting Embry?"
"Yeah, mostly about books or art or movies though."
"What about Jasper?"
"First off, Embry and I are just friends. He likes someone else. He did admit though he had a small crush at first but saw Jasper yesterday and didn't want to become 2nd choice. Secondly, Jasper is like Edward too. Hot one minute, cold the next. I'm not sure what would happen there."
"Yeah I don't get them."
"Me neither."
They say in silence with Bella's head resting on Aurora's left shoulder.
The parking lot slowly started to fill up, and low and behold Jasper with his Harley and his hoodie and black pants and incredible hair and overall perfect-ness. Aurora was sickened. Not really. She wanted to be, though.
Bella slowly stood and wiped off her butt. "I have to talk to my bio teacher about a grade. I'll leave you two alone." She winked.
Aurora's waved bye as Jasper came in front of her. He sat down where Bella was sitting.
"Hey there princess."
"Hi." It was a short response but Jasper accepted it.
"What are you doing here so early?"
"My mom had a faculty meeting before school and since Bella can't drive right now we hitched a ride with her."
Jasper nodded. "You know, my mother is asking about you again darlin'."
Aurora hummed in response. Silence taking over. "Look princess, I'm so-," Aurora jumped up.
"I have to go. See you in class."
Jasper was dumbfounded, of course he knew she probably wouldn't accept his apology but just to up and leave was not what was expected.
Japser jumped up to but was stopped by Edward. "You shouldn't. You should leave her be and let her have a normal life Jaz." Jasper shoved Edward's hand away.
"You should take your own advice. I know how you feel about Bella, I'm sure you'll crack eventually, ask Alice."
Edward let him go. He loved Jasper, he was his brother. But he didn't want his brother to damm another person and he didn't want to either. Bella intrigued him. She was something that felt right. If only he wasn't like this they'd already be dating. But the world was cruel and this is what he would be for entirety, he didn't want others to accept the same fate he did.
Jasper hurried after Aurora, following her scent. He found her at the end of the hallway on her phone. He felt happiness rolling off of her.
Embry had text her. 'Sleepy you have ruined me. You couldn't give some warnings!?'
'Hey I told you I cried. What did you think that meant?'
'I dunno! That you're an emotional person!'
Aurora rolled her eyes. Jasper was suddenly infront of her now, leaning on the lockers.
"Hey there princess," she narrowed her eyes, "who are you texting?"
"My friend."
"Is it the long haired boy that you were drinking with?"
Aurora furrowed her eyebrows, "Not that it's any of your business, but yes it is."
Jasper felt the jealously slowly fill up in the pit of his stomach.
"So are you to together?" Jasper didn't want to ask, but he head too.
"Um no."
Jasper gave a grin and got a little closer. "So princess, when are you coming back to mine again."
Aurora was furious and it was pouring out of her. Jasper knew he fucked up.
"What the fuck do you think your doing Jasper?"
"Trying to ask you out?"
"So what? I'm just supposed to act stupid and pretend you weren't actively avoiding me? That you didn't leave me high and dry? You have some nerve, Jasper."
"Aurora, I'm sorry. I really am. I shouldn't have done that... again. Please, I genuinely thought it would be better if we didn't interact."
"You think that makes it better? 'Oh, I was trying to spare you.'" She mocked him.
"Princess...."
"No you don't get to call me that."
He dropped down. "Aurora. I'm truly sorry. Please, I will explain everything, but I just need you to trust me, darlin. I never wanted to hurt you, and I'm incredibly sorry I did. I will spend forever making it up to you."
Aurora flushed, ‘God not this again.' She should leave. Just turn around and leave him there looking foolish. She took a step back but looked into his eyes.
Desperation and sorrow pooled his honey eyes. She started to crack. "And what if you do it again? What, you just get on your knees, apologize, and I forgive you, only for you to pull some shit like that again? Jasper, you can't just expect me to forgive like nothing happened because I like you."
She liked him, Japser was over the moon.
"I know, I understand, darlin. I hurt you, and the last thing I expect is your forgiveness, but that doesn't mean I won’t try to earn it back. Aurora, you are perfect. From your short hair, to your warm eyes, to your cute flushed cheeks, to your amazing smile. Everything about you is perfect."
Aurora blushed again. She thanked god that no one was here.
"Please Aurora, I am sorry."
She sighed. "If you ever pull something like that again, Japer Hale, it is over. There will be no third chance. This is it."
Jasper hurried and got up. He towered over and hugged her. "Thank you, Aurora. I promise I won't mess it up."
She hugged him backed.
"Yeah, you better not." He grinned and let her go.
"So when do I have to ask your mom and grandma to take you on a date?"
Aurora grimaced. "Yeah, about that. I'm actually grounded. For 3 weeks."
Jasper nodded, "Only 3 weeks?"
Aurora shot him a look, "You'd rather it be til Prom."
"No, no, of course not."
As the previously empty hallway slowly filled, his hand rested on her hips. "So I guess wait?"
"We'll see cowboy."
Jasper looked her over. She had her little braids in the front, her thick nylons, a brown skirt, and an oversized beige cardigan. His thumbs drew little circles.
"So I guess I'll ask you out on a date in 3 weeks?"
Aurora nodded dejectedly. "Alright, princess. Try to get time off for good behavior." Aurora rolled her eyes, giving the smallest of smiles.
"Okay, okay, I’ll try." The halls filled up with students coming in, and everyone was surprised.
Jasper Hale with the other new girl, the daughter of the principal. The bell rang, and the two headed off to class.
Rumors started. How long they were together? Is she the reason Jasper and Alice broke up?

Summary: Bad teenage decisions.

Not beta read.

Tumblr media
Friday's school day came and went with Jasper even returning Aurora's sketch book. Bella and Aurora were at La Push when the infamous Jacob Black came.  "Aurora this is my friend Jacob, and Jacob this is my friend Aurora." She waved and he gave a nod.
Jacob swept Bella away down the shore while Aurora sat on the beach blanket reading.  A figure sat next to her, "Hey."
She looked up, "Hi." He was tan, had a sharp yet round face, and had long black hair. It suited him. He was handsome.
"Whatcha reading?"
Aurora turned the cover, "The Kite Runner."
"Any good?"
"Seeing as in half way through with it and I just started yesterday, yeah I'd say it's pretty good."
The boy laughed, "By the way, name Embry."
"Nice to meet you, name's Aurora."
"Like the princess?"
"I guess but it's more of a family name."
"It's a pretty name, for a pretty girl." Aurora blushed, it was a little cliche but it was smooth. Aurora thanked him and the two sat in silence, comfortable silence.
Bella and Jacob were quick, coming back to mingle for a bit. The Cullens were brought up, the dislike was evident from the native boys.  Eventually Jacob and his friends were headed out. Before they left, Embry turned back to Aurora, "You have a piece of paper and a pen?"
Aurora nodded, "In the van." He helped her up, and she gave him what he asked for.
He scribbled something on there and gave it to her. "Text me with any other book recommendations." He winked and left.
"Really Aurora, another one?" Bella asked jokingly. The girls got dropped off at Aurora's, neither parent was home.
"What is this like… the third date?" Aurora asked.
Bella nodded, "I think so." They came in and Jacinda was there, Sudoku in hand.
"Hice sopa, pero está un poco fría. Lo calentará cuando tenga hambre."
"Okay thank you. We'll eat in like an hour Abuela." The older women nodded and waved them off, they were breaking her concentration.
The girls went up to Aurora's room. "So Jacob was telling me that there's a legend about the tribe's enemies, the Cullen's."
"Oh my god, really? What the fuck?"
"Yeah, something about them being cold ones and having this feud."
"Like vampires?" Aurora tilted her head.
"I'm assuming so."
Aurora worked it out, "I mean… it would explain their fast speed, how they were able to stop the car, and their weird changing color eyes." Aurora remembered when Jasper let her have the stone, how it seemed like an inside joke he had on himself.
Bella nodded rapidly, "Right! I feel like no one's noticed that they have gold eyes !"
"Yeah I'm not sure why everyone thinks that's normal. But this is crazy. Vampires? What next werewolves? Pixies? Elves?"
Bella shrugged, not having an answer.
"I mean... I don't know Bella. Do they look like blood suckers?"
Again, Bella shrugged. "Oh! Besides that, I gave Jacob your number to give to his friend Embry?"
"Bella!"
"What? I mean that whole thing with Jasper was a bust right? Asshat, remember?"
"Well what about Jacob, huh? Edward, asshat remember? You gonna move on with him?"
"Jacob is just a friend."
"Suuuure a 'friend.’”Bella shoved Aurora's right shoulder with her left hand. "Damn trying to break my other shoulder Bells?"
The weekend was spent with the two girls watching movies and doing homework. Also Aurora texting Embry about different books, but Bella was unaware of that. Sunday morning Bella went home to change and shower. That morning, after Bella left, Aurora took her sketchbook and supplies and headed down stairs.
"Mama, can I go outside to sketch?"
"Yeah but not for long I don't need you to get lost." Aurora rolled hers and said a quick 'bye.'
Aurora walked to the tree line, memories of Jasper and her meeting replaying in her head. She sighed, and ventured in.
She went to the same place where she met him, and started to sketch. She sketched a circle, then a U, then 2 smaller ovals inside. Her flicks of lead were light and airy. After 30 minutes of drawing, the face she drew bared a remarkable resemblance of a certain blonde that she didn't want to think about. She drew him a brooding expression and stained, sharp teeth dripping blood.
She huffed and flipped the page. She thought of Embry, and started a new face. She drew probably a face that looked similar to Embry but didn't capture him. On the 2nd one, she was able to capture his likeness and energy.
She drew another Jasper, not finishing it though once she realized it was him. She drew his eyes, a grin with sharp teeth that she'll deny it's his.
She drew until the sun went down. She squeezed in a drawing of her mom and grandma, her mom with a tiara and her grandmother smoking. She drew 2 outlines of faces of what could have Bella and Charlie, but she shut it after that. A piece of paper stuck out from the very beginning. It was lined paper.
She opened it and saw a number, and Jasper Hale's cursive writing there.
'Here's my number Princess, text me when you can. Xxx xxx xxx.’
Aurora assumed this was before the whole car ordeal, it had the nickname princess which Jasper had stopped calling her, hell even acknowledging her. She wanted to crumple it and rip it, but there was that tiny inkling of hope that this was his way to reconcile. She entered the number on her phone. She hovered around the keyboard, when a message popped up.
'Hey Aurora, got the kite runner! U were right, it is great, better hurry and finish it before I beat u ;)' - Embry
Aurora smiled at the message as she messaged back.
'Puhlease I'm on the last chapter. How are u gonna beat me?' - Aurora
She felt as if someone was watching her, she looked up and around but there was no one there. Feeling slightly uneasy she started to head home. Jasper watched as she left. He had seen her frustrated drawings of him, which made him chuckle, but it was replaced by worry when she started to draw someone else.
He glared at the drawing of a boy he did not know. He wanted to step out of his hiding spot, to go and apologize but when she read the paper and texted someone else he stopped himself. This is what he wanted, no? For her to not be mixed up with vampires. To not be around her and constantly want to drain her?
He rushed home, angry at himself, at Edward, at vampires. But… mostly at himself, for letting her into his life and heart and then leaving her.
Everyone was hit with an intense rage when Jasper entered home. Carlisle and Esme shared a look. Him and Edward had been brooding the past two weeks or so, it made the house unbearable. He hoped soon that the boys would change their mind, he honestly couldn't stand it any more.
Esme knocked on Jasper's door, "Jaz?"
He took a deep breath, "Yeah?"
"You okay honey?"
He nodded, not wanting to speak about her. Esme sighed at the boy's lack of communication. "Just know that whoever she is, I'm sure if you talk to her and apologize for whatever you have done she'll forgive you."
"How do you know it was I who did something? And if that's even what I'm upset about? And what .... what if she won't?"
"A mother knows Jasper. Now decide on what you're gonna do because this moping and being angry is not good for you." She gave a smile and left. Now time to talk to sulking Edward.
Monday came and Jasper was still undecided. Aurora was giving him the same treatment and he couldn't blame her. She looks cute in her long sleeve cut sweater draped over her dress. He especially liked how it hugged every curve.
'Focus.' He slapped himself internally. Aurora's phone slightly buzzed, and she smiled at it.
He scowled, 'Who the fuck is making her smile like that.'
She didn't answer it though, seeing as they were still in class discussing the book The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Jasper skimmed the book but didn't read it fully. But he was going to buy tomorrow, he had all night. Once the class ended Aurora checked the phone.
'Hey Aurora! Me, Jacob, and Paul stole a few drinks and are gonna drink it by a meadow place, wanna join? Bella should be going, Jacob texted her.' - Bry
'Sure, but only if Bella's going. Buddy system and all, plus my mom won't let me without her lol.' - Aurora
'Sweet! See you after school.' - Bry
'Hey Bella you going after school ?' - Aurora
'Yeah I want to see if Jacob found anything else.' - Bells
'Oh smart. Okok.' - Aurora
She left, and Jasper watched her go. The day went by in a blur for Jasper, just watching the freckled girl just out of his grasp. Aurora and Bella texted their parents saying they would walk and explore the woods a little bit with Jacob. Amora was on the fence but Charlie convinced her that Jacob was a good kid and knew the forest well.
The 5 of them meet up, headed by the meadow, opting to stay in the trees rather than the flowers.
They brought wine coolers and shots. Aurora was a little worried, she's never drank before. Bella declined the drink but Aurora took a wine cooler. She was a little tipsy as was Paul and Embry. Jacob had one while Bella had none.
Bella started her interrogation. And Paul was dozing off next to them. Embry and Aurora sat a little further away.
"The Kite Runner crushed me, Aurora."
"Oh you finally made it to that part. I will not lie, it just gets sadder, I cried and cried." Her eyelids were a bit heavy.
"No,no,no. You're lying." Aurora shook her head and Embry slumped on her right shoulder.
"It's so sad but I can't put it down."
"I know what you mean. It's for school but I read ahead, I couldn't stop myself." She giggled. The world was slightly swimming.
Embry wasn't as tipsy, his body heat was a little higher than usual the past day and he's drank before. He smiled at her, "Any other recommendations?"
"For books um… um… no? Oh ! But for movies it's called... called um... oh Pans Labyrinth. So fucking good. Amazing."
"Oh well, when you put it like that, I have to see it now." Aurora threw her head back laughing. Embry smiled at her laugh, giving a small chuckle in return.
"Embry, we have to go!"
"Oh I don't think we should leave Aurora like this by herself, or well for Bella to deal with."
"I've got her." A voice spoke from the clearing, Jasper emerged.
"Who are you?"
"Jaz!" Aurora said happily.
"You know him?" Embry asked hesitantly.
Bella spoke up this time, "Yeah that's her seat mate for like every class."
Jacob eyed him, "We have to take Paul home before he gets in trouble again. Plus he's burning up." He leaned towards Bella ,"Is he safe? Can you trust him with Aurora?"
Bella nodded. "Yeah, he's Edward's brother." Jacob narrowed his eyes, trusting him a little less now.
"Go, go. Jaz and I will be fine here."
Bella wanted to go with Jacob, he was gonna search his library for her but she didn't want to leave Aurora alone.  Aurora had a small smile while gazing at Jasper. Bella hesitated, "It's okay, I’ll stay-,"
"No go Bella, shoo."
"But Aurora-,"
"I said shoo!" She waved a dismissive hand and giggled at the word ‘shoo.’
"I'll take care of her Bella, I'll call you off her phone once she sobers up and is home."
Embry stayed quiet till now. "Sleepy?"
"Hm?" She gave a smile and her eyes crinkled. His heartbeat quickened which Jasper internally rolled his eyes at him.
"Call me if you need anything okay?"
She furrowed her eyebrows but nodded. "Okay Bry got it." She gave a thumbs up and Embry looked Jasper up and down. Jasper raised an eyebrow to the Quileute boy. Bella nodded and left with the three of them. She could trust Jasper with Aurora.
Aurora looked into Jasper's eyes, "Hmm. I've missed you cowboy."
Jasper nodded, "I've missed you too princess."
Aurora smiled and hugged him, his cold touch not bothering her in this state, "It feels so long since you called me that, it feels nice." Jasper could feel the blossoming happiness when he said her nickname.
He felt like shit, regretting listening to Edward. "Come on princess, let's get to mine since it's closer. I'll get you water and then we'll head to yours." She nodded, tiredly. "Okay Princess, get on my back."
Aurora stopped nodding, processing his words, she shook her head no, "No I'm too heavy."
"You're not darlin', now come on."
She eyes him wearily, he was tall and looked strong but still, Aurora was self conscious about her weight. He slightly crouched, "Come on little lady."
Aurora wanted to die of embarrassment. She lifted a leg and he gripped it, she lightly hopped up and he grabbed the other. "Light as a feather, now hold on." She held on tight but her eyelids were feeling heavy. He heard her heartbeat steady and ran towards his house with his inhumane speed, all the way up to his room.
He laid her down on his bed carefully, worried about her cast. He was grateful for Carilse convincing him to get a bed, even if he only had it because he liked to lay down and read.
Everyone home heard the heartbeat and smelled the blood. Jasper could feel the hunger from everyone in the house, he clenched his fist as the thirst evolved tenfold. Esme stepped outside before returning to the scent of blood, she walked up to his room, "Jaz?"
"This is the girl… she um... "
"Drank?"
He nodded, "But she isn't the type of girl to drink underage."
Esme nodded, "A lot of teenagers drink, and it looks like this was her first time."
"She only had a wine cooler."
Esme chuckled, "Oh my. Well I'll get you some water and I can run to the store to get some food."
As Esme left to the store, excited to cook and provide for someone other than the vampire teenagers residing in the house. Jasper sat in his designated wooden reading chair, he stared at Aurora. Watching the rise and fall of her chest, hearing the blood rush from her veins. He felt rage slowly get closer, he turned and saw Edward there watching him.
Before Edward spoke, Jasper held a hand up. He walked over, gently closing the door, shutting Aurora out from the outside world. “What is she doing here?” Edward whispered furiously.
The air shifted, the temperature dropped and Jasper narrowed his eyes, “I was helping her.”
“Helping her? If you want to help, you shouldn’t involve yourself with her,” Edward was fuming.
“Leave Edward. Now.” Edward felt his nerves calm, that just infuriated him more.
“Don’t use your powers on me.”
“Oh, because you're so innocent, never reading our minds?”
Before the spat could turn worse Rosalie and Emmett appeared. “Alright, calm down vang boys. The little human Jasper brought, for some odd reason, is asleep so let’s calm down.”
“You’re not mad that he brought her here?” Edward was in disbelief.
“Of course I am. You think I want Aurora to be like us? No, of course not. But the one thing I respect about this is Jasper isn’t playing some wounded martyr.”
Jasper’s eyes widened at Rosalie's words, “Babe come on, let's not hash it out right now.”
Rosalie glowered but decided to leave it be. “Alright guys, good job, good team effort. Now let’s leave Jasper and his little human alone.” It wasn’t always unusual for Emmett to be the voice of reason, especially when Rosalie would lose her cool. As the three adopted siblings went, another one popped out from the window.
“Well that was something.”
Jasper turned to Alice, “Hm. Always around at the right time.”
“Weird huh?” Alice laughed, a small smile being left on her face, “So how is your Sleeping Beauty?”
“Well doing exactly as her name states, sleeping.”
Alice hesitated before she ultimately decided against saying anything about what the future will hold for Aurora. She winked at Jasper, “Goodluck,” before sauntering over with the rest of the Cullen clan.
Esme returned, greeting her husband and was informed about the disagreement that is arising in the family. She left them be, on her way to make food for their guest.
Aurora woke up, she blinked while taking in the room, ‘This is not my room!’ Fear grew from the pit of her stomach. She looked around and found Jasper reading their class assigned book. "Um."
He looked towards her, giving her a small smile, and giving her a bit of ease to help calm her down, "Hey there little miss. Feeling better?"
Her heartbeat started to slow down, she gulped nervously, "My head hurts a little but yeah I'm okay. Where's my phone? Where’s Bella? And… how did I get here?" Aurora noticed she was fully clothed, with a blanket covering her. She relaxed more, her nerves were calming down.
Jasper put the book down and made his way to her. He sat on the edge of the bed, “Don’t worry. The pack boys had to head home since one of them was sick. Bella went with them after I said I'd watch over you."
Aurora furrowed her eyebrows,"So, she just left me with you?"
Jasper nodded, "She wants you to call after you wake up."
Aurora's eyes were wide with worry, and mouth slightly agape from the information. “What exactly happened?”
Jasper could feel the anger, and hurt, slowly build inside the younger girl. “I was walking in the woods, for one of my many nature walks. I heard your voice, at first I thought I was crazy because I was hearing your voice in the woods by myself,” Aurora cracked a smile, “I followed your voice and found you with everyone, you were a little tipsy and Bella looked worried. So, like the southern gentleman I am, I offered to help and take care of you till you sobered up a bit. At first Bella wasn’t sure but you waved her off saying you were fine.”
Aurora nodded, searching for her phone, Jasper noticed. He went to the bedside table, where her phone was charging. She called Bella, she picked up instantly, as she had been waiting for the call.
"Bella?"
"Aurora! How are you feeling?"
"Bella… what the fuck?" her voice was soft and full of hurt.
The line went quiet, "You just… just left me.” Aurora was on the verge of tears, “I get it I-I waved you off but…,” she had to stop, her throat felt as if it was closing, “but I would have never left you whether it was Edward or Jacob. I would have stayed with you Bells.”
Bella choked back the tears, realizing the severity of the situation; how terribly sideways it could have gone. She didn't think Jasper would ever do anything like that, "But it's Jasper, h-."
"It's so fucked up Bella. I just thought- that maybe- we had each other's backs."
Bella wanted to sob, she didn't think Aurora would be in trouble with Jasper, he seemed like the safest option, "I'm so-,"
"Bye Bella."
Bella was frantic, “Aur-.”
She hung up. She held back the tears as best she could but her eyes were still watery. From one point she understood, Jasper and her had chemistry, for lack of a better word, and he was responsible and respectful. But it left a sour taste in her mouth, to leave her alone when buzzed was just not something you do.
"I'm sorry darlin’. I just offered my help, Bella seemed stressed and I didn't want you two stumbling around the forest alone."
She nodded, eyes trained on the wrinkle of the bedsheet.
Jasper hesitantly reached for her hand, he gently clasped his hand over her unharmed one. She stopped herself from flinching at Jasper’s temperature, "I would never-."
"I know. I know Jasper.” She sighed before continuing, “It’s just, what bothers me is how Bella just… left. Even the nicest guys can have a wicked side. And,” she paused to find her words, “and that's not saying I think you're a murder or rapist or whatever. To me, it's just the principle."
He nodded, rubbing circles on the palms of her hands, "I understand Princess."
She nodded, not realizing he was saying her nicknames again. "Are you hungry? My mother is cooking you something."
Jasper saw Aurora’s eyes widened in horror, "Oh god, did I make a fool of myself in front of your family? Fucking christ strike me now."
Jasper laughed, "No, no. I took you straight up, you passed out."
"That's it. Your mother probably thinks I'm some like hooligan that drinks all the time and does like drugs and is a bad influence." Jasper didn’t need his abilities to see that Aurora’s sadness was slowly melting away.
She groaned and dropped her head in her hands. Jasper shook his head at her antics, "No she knows you're a good kid, and sometimes even those kids want to try a taste of the bad side."
She shook her head, "That's it, I'm done for. I can't go and face her."
He gave a huff out laugh, "If anything I'm sure she thinks I'm the bad influence delinquent."
"Jasper Hale? The Forks High Bad Boy? Puhlease, you ooze western cowboy on the ranch."
"First off, you're correct darlin.’ The south is in my blood. Second off, I can be bad."
"Yeah and the skies are red."
Jasper grinned, leaning forward. "I could've sworn it was, princess. Now come on, my mother is expecting you." He got up, helping Aurora do the same.
"You're positive that I'm not on her bad side?"
"Cowboy's honor." He said, raising his right hand.
She fought off the smile threatening to spill from her lips. Jasper clasped their hands together, Aurora ever so slightly flinched, still not accustomed to his cold touch. He led her down stairs when Aurora's phone went off, and off, and off. Quickly grabbing it, she saw it was her mother.
'Cariño!
where are you!
Bella went home crying.
mi amor?'- Mama
'Sorry mama
Doing hw at jaspers
we got into a small fight...' - Pumpkin
'AURORA!
Next time ask !
Call soon' - Mama
"Can I pop outside really quick? For I can call my mom." She nervously held her phone in her hand, fiddling with it between her hands.
"Of course, this way." He led them through the living room, to a door outside. "Here, I'll be in the living room."
She called her mom, who picked up instantly too. "Aurora Evangeline Cordova Flores!"
Aurora winced, great… her full name,"Hi mama."
"¡No me mames! ¿Por qué no te preguntaste acerca de ir a casa de Jasper? ¡Y mucho menos enviarme un mensaje de texto!"
"Mamá, lo siento! Te prometo que no lo volveré a hacer. Bella se fue con Jacob y ellos después de que nos encontramos con Jasper. y luego fuimos a estudiar a él y luego Bella y yo nos peleamos por teléfono. Lo siento, debería haberte enviado un mensaje de texto."
Amora sighed, "¿Dónde estás ahora?"
"Jasper's."
"¿Ya casi has terminado de estudiar?"
"Almost. They invited me to stay over and eat though. I called you to explain and ask if that was okay.”
“Okay fine you can stay and eat over there. And if whatever Bella did isn't too bad, try to fix it okay?"
"Why, so you and Mr. Charlie can go out on dates? How many more before you officially tell us? 2 or 1?"
"Aurora!"
"It was a joke! Sorry, sorry. Bad time to try and lighten the mood."
"Yeah, wait til you get home."
"I was just playing," she whined.
"Yeah, yeah. Now go finish studying, go eat and come home okay?"
"Okay mama."
"I love you cariño, see you soon."
"I love you too mama, see ya."
She hung up and walked over to the glass door. She opened it, she felt weird stepping inside with shoes. Jasper was there, a ghost smile on his lips at her, "So are you staying princess?"
"Yeah I can but after I have to go straight home."
He nodded, of course he had heard the full conversation, but he wasn't going to tell her that. "Alright, let's go get you something to eat." He grabbed her hand again and her stomach flipped.
He led her towards the kitchen, where Esme and Carlisle were cooking. ‘Chilaquiles?’
They were frying the tortillas and had cheese on the side, and eggs out and fresh salsa. Aurora was a little surprised at the food choice.
Emse saw the couple, washing her hands from cutting the onions and tomatoes.
"Hello there! You must be Aurora, we've heard so much about you! It's very lovely to meet you." Aurora glanced at Jasper, who conveniently was looking elsewhere.
"Hello! It is lovely to meet you as well. Jasper's mentioned you but he didn't tell me you were so beautiful."
Esme chuckled, a bit of flattery never hurt. Aurora turned her attention to the older man still cutting up the ingredients, she gave a small wave, "Hello Dr. Cullen."
He gave a welcoming smile, "Carlisle is just fine, Aurora. How is that shoulder holding up?"
"It's doing well Mr. Carlisle. Sore and achy every now and then, but good."
He chuckled at Mr. Carlisle. "That is very good to hear, don't forget to schedule that appointment." He wanted to ask her to remind Bella as well but after eavesdropping on that conversation, he thought it would be best not to.
Esme grabbed Aurora’s right hand, leading her to Island. "Here, take a seat, we made chilaquiles for you. Jasper mentioned you are of Mexican descent, we spent a couple of ye-months in Jalisco and picked up a couple recipes."
"Oh really that's so cool! My family is from Jalisco." Aurora noticed the slight slip up but didn't acknowledge it.
"What a coincidence." With the plate being finished, Carlisle dusted off his hand.
It looked pretty good. There was only one plate though. "Oh are you guys not going to eat?"
"Oh no dear we ate before you came over and are pretty full still." Aurora nodded, and started to eat.
"This is really delicious. Thank you again."
Esme smiled, "No problem dear. So tell me about yourself, Jasper has never brought anyone home." None of them did in this sense.
"Oh um I'm 16. I have Jasper in every class besides the last one, which I have with Alice. I read a lot, draw a lot, listen to a lot of music. Oh um I live with my mom and grandma, we just moved here from LA."
Esme had a glint in her eyes, "Wow, you just turned 16 and you're a junior?" She nodded.
"You're a very bright girl. I'm glad you and Jasper are together." Aurora's eyes darted to Jasper's.
"Oh we're not together."
"Oh? And why not?"
She glanced up at Jasper again, "I have no clue Mrs. Esme, ask Jasper."
Esme and Carlisle laughed and Jasper rolled his eyes. Aurora thanked them again for the food and gave them both a hug. "I hope you come back dear."
Aurora nodded not knowing what to say. Jasper took a car this time, a BMW. ‘Fucking christ, Carlisle has to be a nepotism trust fund baby because fuck this house, cars, and motorcycles.’
They drove in silence until Aurora spoke. "So are you gonna go back to ignoring me tomorrow?"
Jasper sighed, "Aurora I want us to be close. I do. There's just some things I have to sort out."
Aurora nodded, he was lying. A small ,"Okay," was all she said.
They pulled up to Aurora's, Jasper was going to go open the door for her and walk her to the front door but she got out before he did. "Thank you for the ride and everything today." She shut the door and walked to her house not sparing a glance back at him.
Jasper groaned. He was going to hunt for sure tonight. He waited until she was inside, closing the door
Amora jumped up and all but ran to the door. She ushered her daughter inside. They sat down at the dining room table, Jacinda was outside smoking, she didn't want to hear Aurora's lecture.
"Aurora. I am going to ask you this once okay. And you have to answer this honestly."
Aurora nodded. "Did you drink?" Aurora looked at her hesitantly, and nodded slowly. Amora gave a sharp inhale.
"Is that why you and Bella fought?"
"Kind of."
"What's ‘kind of’ Aurora?"
Aurora hesitantly spoke, "She left me with Jasper, I was tipsy, I shushed her off and then she left with Jacob and his friends because he got sick, I think."
"And you fought about her leaving you with Jasper? When you were tipsy?"
"Okay," Amora breathed out, "I am disappointed that you drank Aurora, you're only 16. And I am disappointed at Bella for leaving you alone with Jasper when you were drunk. Why did you drink?"
"I don't know, honestly mama. They offered me a wine cooler and I accepted. And I felt a little woozy and then yeah."
"Was Jasper there the whole time?"
"No, we were walking around the woods by his house and heard us."
Amora didn't even want to ask the question, "Did he do anything?"
Aurora shook her head, "No he didn't. He let me sleep in his bed while he went off and helped his mom."
Amora sighed in relief, "You were incredibly lucky Aurora, had it been someone else this talk would be a lot different. You know this mi amor."
Aurora nodded. "Charlie caught wind from the parents on the reservation. He's already talked to Bella right now. I understand if you don't want to talk to her or stay friends with her. But she does want to speak with you."
"I'll speak to her."
"Okay I'll tell Charlie and they'll come over. Go upstairs." Aurora nodded and went to her room.
About 10 minutes later Bella knocked on the wood.
"Hey."
"Hi."
"I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?"
"I shouldn't have blown up on you li-."
"No Aurora you were right! I shouldn't have left you alone regardless of who it was. I am so sorry Aurora. It was a shitty thing to do and I am a bad friend." Bella had tears streaming down her face.
Aurora did as well, she hugged Bella with her right arm. "We make mistakes, I was lucky it was Jasper and that Jasper is a gentleman and what not."
Bella nodded, "But still even if he's the most upstanding guy, I should've stayed just in case."
The girls hugged while Charlie and Amora could hear them faintly. "I'm sorry again Amora I don't-."
Amora shook her head, "Well it isn't okay, Bella is still a teenager and sometimes teenagers make the wrong choice. But Aurora isn't hurt and neither is Bella."

The weekend passed, and the girls stayed inside. Bella mostly stayed at Flores' house just watching scary movies, doing homework; Aurora writing down her answers since it was her right hand that took the injury. Bella was learning how to cook, watching Jacinda and Amora, while listing to music as they cooked. Charlie stayed there as well, for a few hours of the day when he wasn't at work or headed back to his, to sleep. Amora and him scheduled their next date for Wednesday, they were both liking each other's presence at home.
Sunday night Bella and Aurora were in her bed after Bella got back from her and Charlie’s Sunday night dinner, at her dad’s favorite diner. The girls were lying down, looking at Aurora's light up stars. Aurora has the petrified Jasper in her hands, getting used to the cool feeling it offered. Bella, facing Aurora, spoke hesitantly, "Why hasn't Jasper showed up?"
Aurora froze, that question had plagued her mind since she was in the hospital, "I have no idea."
"Do you really like him?"
"I think so."
"Love him?"
Aurora smiled shyly, "I don't know about love, it's only been a week Bella."
Bella chuckled, "Okay. Okay. Do you think you can love him?"
She smiled softly, "I think so. I've never been in love before but I'm sure it first feels like this." Bella nodded, the duo nodding off to sleep. Neither of the girls noticed the two pairs of yellow eyes in the tree line.
The girls got up in the morning, and slowly started to get dressed. Aurora’s gaze fell upon the stone, it was mocking her now. Once a symbol of hope and love turns into resentment and pain. She turned her gaze away, finishing getting ready. They headed down stairs where Amora and Charlie were. For some “unknown” reason, he stayed the night. The couple were waiting, with breakfast ready. "Good morning girls, who would you rather have to take you to work?"
The teenagers shared a glance, "Which one do you think is the least embarrassing?"
"Oh I don't know, I think they tie," Aurora nodded to Bella's statement.
Amora took a mock offense, "Why I never."
Bella shrugged, "Honestly either or is fine."
"Yeah it doesn't matter."
"Okay I'll take you guys, you just have to leave a bit earlier and Charlie will take you home since I have to get out later. A faculty meeting." Everyone nodded. Amora finished the coffee, made a new one and put a cigarette next to it.
Everyone headed out the front door saying “bye” to Jacinda, who just woke up from her nap. The girls headed to the jeep and got in, "Oh todays the field trip right? You're going?"
Aurora nodded, a little excited, "Yeah honors chem is tagging along, I think the teacher just wants a break and will somehow incorporate it into tomorrow's lesson."
They arrived at school just in time, the bell rang and the girls headed to the front where the teachers said to meet. Amora gave Aurora a kiss on the head and a quick side hug to Bella, then she headed off inside. The front started to get packed. Bella was whisked away by Tyler, Aurora followed a bit after noticing the older girl was missing.
"Yes, actually Aurora's coming with me to Phoenix during that time."
Aurora glanced at her and nodded, going along with the lie, "Oh yeah, nonrefundable tickets. Sorry."
Tyler nodded and left, dejected at being turned down. The girl shared a look and held back laughter. After almost accidentally killing them, he was asking Bella out to prom? The teacher called for them to hurry and get on the bus. Aurora sat with Jasper, and Bella with Edward.
Their eyes met and she gave a small smile, he returned with a curt nod. The two sat in silence, with Jasper not wanting to talk and Aurora not knowing what to say. The bus ride was filled with silence.
They slowly walked through the green house, Jasper glancing at Aurora's shoulder every so often. "So how was your weekend?" Aurora tried to break the silence.
"It was fine."
Aurora furrowed her eyebrows, "That's good."
He gave another curt nod and they continued their walk. Aurora saw Edward storm off and Bella behind him. She hurried her pace and heard the two last lines. "No, our bus is full!" Edward said harshly. He was about to bump into Bella's broken wrist when Aurora pulled her towards her.
"Watch it asshat!"
Edward's head snapped towards Aurora, Alice and Jasper's eyes widened.
"Incase you didn't see when you saved us with your inhuman speed, Bella's wrist is broken and I'm sure a shove from you won't make it better. I'm sure you also have some weirdly inhuman strength too." Aurora grumbled the last sentence to herself. She tugged Bella along to the other bus, and flipped Edward off as they left.
"Dick face." Jasper huffed out a laugh.
The two rushed into the bus, towards the back, "Did you have to call him an asshat?"
Aurora gave her a deadpan stare, "If he didn't want to be called that he shouldn't be acting like that."
Bella shrugged, she had a point. The field trip took up the school day. The girls got off the bus, and listened to their respective teachers. Aurora and Jasper stood next to each other not talking. Once he dismissed them, Aurora walked to Bella, without sparing a glance to Jasper. ‘Fine, if he wanted to be hot one day and cold the next I’m not going to acknowledge him.’
Now, don't get Jasper wrong, he wanted to go and talk to Aurora, visit her in the hospital and at her house but the problem was Edward. He was too wishy-washy with his feelings. Jasper knew Aurora was it for him and well, he assumed it could be the same for Edward; who had more of a problem sorting and figuring out what to do. Plus, in all honesty, he had to control his blood lust, yes the scent of her blood was intoxicating but he had to cease his growing appetite.
Jasper walked towards Edward. 'Asshat.' Edward looked over to him, eyes wide with disbelief, "What the fuck did you just think."
"You read my thoughts." 'Asshat.'
Alice laughed, she knew what Jasper said, 'Asshat.' Edward snapped his head over to her and groaned. Of course Jasper would pick a feisty one.
"Can you guys stop?"
'Asshat.' 'Asshat.' He groaned again.
Bella and Aurora waited at the steps waiting for Charlie to get them. Aurora turned her attention to Bella, "So you like him huh?"
"Who?" Aurora gave her a look.
"Mister asshat over there."
Bella chuckled and shrugged, "Yeah, maybe if he stops being an asshat."
Aurora laughed, "There you go! Finally admitting it huh?"
"What about you? What's going on with blondie?"
"Um, I have no idea. Oh can you believe he still has my sketchbook, and hasn't returned it yet. Could've this weekend or even today or all the other days of him teasing me but no."
"Double asshat?"
"Double asshat," Aurora nodded solemnly. They sighed, and saw the Cullens drive off. Charlie pulled in about 10 minutes later.
He got out of the car and opened it up for the girls, motioning them to get in the car "Alright come on in, I'll drop you guys off home and go back to work."
He pulled up in front of Aurora’s house and opened the doors for them again, Jacinda was waiting with some chicken soup and rice. The girls ate, as Jacinda practically forced them, and went to Aurora’s room.
The duo laid on the floor, and listened to Aurora's playlist. After listening to music, doing some homework, and eating dinner all together, Charlie and Bella finally head to their house to change, freshen up, and sleep. They all agreed to stay with Amora majority of the time, with taking them to school and Charlie picking them up until Bella's hand healed.
Aurora and Bella got to school the next morning, tired. The duo waved goodbye and headed to their classes. Aurora sat next to Jasper, neither of them acknowledging the other's presence. Each period, day after day till the next Thursday came. After lunch, in their shared class together, Aurora finally spoke in a monotonous tone, "You still have my sketchbook, I'd like it back by tomorrow."
Jasper looked over at her, her hair had slightly got longer by a centimeter, her eyes still pools of honey brown, and her adorable cheeks still had the same freckles and blush.
"Okay." Aurora nodded, Jasper returned it with his own.
Lunch came, and Bella pulled Aurora to the side. She was buzzing with excitement, "He spoke to me, like full on conversation and dodged my questions." Aurora was a little envious, seeing as Jasper still didn't talk to her.
"What did you ask?"
"How did he and Jasper manage to make that run." Aurora nodded along it was fucking strange, and stranger that no one batted an eyelash.
Aurora and Bella headed to Jessica and Angela. "So we're going to La Push you guys in?"
"Um,” Aurora looked to Bella, who was just as clueless as her.
"Am I supposed to know what that means?"
"It's the beach on the reservation."
Aurora nodded as did Bella. An idea popped up and she went towards Edward in the lunch line. Aurora rolled her eyes at the apple trick, ‘Cliché.’ She looked towards her right, Jasper was sitting and staring at her. She blushed and turned away. He had no right to look at her or make her blush, 'Jerk.'
The bell rang and Aurora headed to Ap Art. Alice smiled at her at least, and she smiled back.  Aurora sat at the end of the big table and Alice on the corner right. It was uneventful. Alice didn't speak to her either, which made her even sadder. Once the bell rang she shot out of class, as she turned the hallway corner she bumped into longer blonde hair. It was Rosalie. ‘Great.’
"Oh shit sorry,” Aurora shook her head. These Cullens were made of steel.
"It's fine. Accidents happen." Aurora wanted to cry; it was too much for her.
She blinked back the tears and nodded. "Well excuse me."
Rosalie grabbed her right hand, "Wait."
Aurora looked at her, eyes still a little teary, a little red now. "I'm sorry."
Aurora tilted her head, "For what?"
"For my brother, and well, my other brother. I thought you guys were a good match, and I kinda liked you."
Aurora wanted to cry even more, she retracted her hand, "Yeah, well, your brothers didn't think so. Thank you though." Aurora pulled her hand away and went towards the building's exit. Jasper stood with Alice, watching the whole thing. Rosalie glared at them, and walked away to find Emmett.
Aurora got home and closed the door, she played her music and laid next to Bella. The tears started to fall and Bella noticed. Silently, Bella grabbed Aurora's right hand and gave a gentle squeeze. Aurora gave a squeeze back.

The treeline blurred as the speed picked up. Aurora’s grip tightened around Jasper’s waist, the heat that should've been exuding from his body was not there. With a final turn, and a long stretch of a road, they arrived at her house, "That was pretty fun, cowboy."
Jasper took the helmet as he followed Aurora, getting off the bike, "Glad you enjoyed it little miss."
Aurora shook her head, "Come on, also this is a no shoe house hold, so when we get to the door just take them off on the rug."
Jasper nodded, and the couple walked up to the door. Once they entered and took off their shoes, Aurora called for her grandma, "¡Abuela, estoy en casa! Traje a un compañero de clase de español."
No answer. 'Odd.'
"Stay right here." Aurora walked down the hallway, to her grandmother's room and found her sleeping. 'She probably stayed up all night again.'
She rushed back to Jasper. "My grandmother is asleep. So if you don't want to stay for dinner, you might be able to sneak out." A deep chuckle escaped him, he nodded at her taking in her beauty. She grabbed his hand, "Come on." Her eyes widened instinctively, she stopped herself from recoiling at his ice cold hand. Ignoring it, she led him up the stairs and down the hall. Whilst she was trying to speed down the hallway like a bullet, trying to ignore the embarrassing pictures of her scattered throughout on the wall. But her speed couldn’t beat that exceptional vampire vision. He saw almost all of them, her pink hair phase, her messed up hair phase trying to cut the pink out, her hospital stays. He hid his smile as he entered her room, there were sketches everywhere. They were polaroids by her bed, of her: friends, beaches, and family members. Her room felt like her.
"Nice room princess." He admired the jade walls, the soft green pastel throw pillows, and her green and beige bed set.
"Thanks." She grabbed her designated pillows, throwing them on her oval floral rug.
"Come Jaz, let's get this party started." She expressed unenthusiastically. If Jasper had a heart, it would have skipped a beat at her using his nickname.
Jasper stared at her face, she had freckles spread across her nose. Her brown eyes were the color of the tree's when the sunlight hit them. Her hair was short. Her cheeks; chubby, with a tinge of blush. She was everything he was looking for.
Her eyes darted to his, and his concentration of admiring her was broken. He got his bag and started to get out the assignment.
The two carried on till 6 pm. Aurora noticed the time, they were almost done. He could come back tomorrow seeing as the two of them had til the next Wednesday to complete it.
She put the binder to the side, "So cowboy, you staying over for dinner?"
"Well little lady, as enticing as that sounds, Edward should be back today along with our father, so I'm gonna help my mother."
Aurora nodded understandingly, "Okay let's get you out of here before my grandma notices you and makes you stay."
They pair got up, as Jasper went to get his bag that was laying against the end of the bed, he saw the stone. Aurora turned to see Jasper frozen, eyes fixed on the orb. “Jaz?”
His gaze stood on the rock as he stood straight, “Do you know what that stone is?”
Aurora furrowed her eyebrows, inching a little closer to him to peer at the stone he mentioned, “No. Why?”
Finally breaking the trance, Jasper looked down to Aurora, It’s a Jasper stone. It was mine, I lost it in the woods the day we met.”
Eyebrows were raised, “What?”
“Yeah, I got it in- I got it a long time ago.”
“Oh. Do you want it back?”
Jasper’s eye bore unto Aurora’s soul, “Do you like it?”
Aurora returned his earnest gaze,“Very much so.”
He leaned a bit closer, Aurora’s breath hitched, “What do you like about?” He could hear the heartbeat quicken and the blood traveled faster. Jasper’s eyes darted to her neck and then back to her eyes. ‘Control! Control! Control!’
Aurora gulped, eyes darting at Jasper’s lips then back to his golden honey eyes, “It’s stuck in time. It’s going to be beautiful forever.” Jasper’s hand hovered over Aurora’s cheek, before gently sweeping the strands of hair that were astray.
The two could be stuck in this moment forever, but alas that was not in the cards for them. Aurora broke the spell that held them captive, she avoided his gaze as she took a small step back. She bit her lip, nervously waiting for Jasper to speak.
Jasper cleared his throat, straightening his posture, “Keep it darlin’. Promise though, you think of me everytime you hold it.”
Aurora bashfully nodded, eyes still trained on the floor. Gathering courage Aurora finally re-met his gaze, “Alright Cowboy, we should sneak you out now before you’re caught.”
The pair quietly walked down the hall, down the stairs. Aurora peered over the staircase, to the back screen door, and saw smoke.
"Okay, well, get cowboy, get."
Jasper quietly chuckled, "Calm down princess, I'm going, I'm going." He got his shoes and put them on.
As he opened the door as quietly as possible, before crossing the threshold, Jasper turned to Aurora. "Alright princess, I will see you tomorrow." Aurora grabbed his hand as he was about to turn. He was numbingly cold.
"Wait." Jasper froze still.
"Yeah little miss?"
She looked up to him, he noticed the light brown spots in her eyes and her long eyelashes. "It was fun, even though it was mostly homework." He nodded, lost in her gaze once again. She went on her tippy toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
He sucked in a breath: he stepped forward. Aurora closed her eyes, and Jasper gently touched her face. Her eyes ever so fluttered at the piercing touch. His lips lightly brushed against her. Aurora leaned a bit more in, Jasper basked in her warmth. He put one hand on her hip while Aurora gently grabbed Jasper's face.
They slowly pulled apart. Aurora's pupils were blown and Jasper's were pitch black.
'CONTROL. CONTROL. CONTROL.'
She was beautiful. The said beauty blushed, and shyly looked away, "You should get goin Jaz, wouldn't want to make your mom wait."
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow darlin." He kissed the top of her head and turned away.
"See you tomorrow Jaz." As Jasper left and drove away, Aurora closed the door. She felt as if she was floating on cloud 9. Said euphoria dropped as Aurora heard a throat clear.
She froze. 'Of fucking course.' Aurora turned to face her grandma, "So… how much did you see?"
"Enough."
"Well. This is very awkward.”
Silence hung in the air. "Are you going to tell mama?"
Abuela sighed, "No I am not. But you should soon. And have that boy meet us properly before going around kissing you again."
Aurora fiddled with her hands, "Does that mean he's already on your bad side?"
"He seems like a sweet boy. I just wished he asked to date first."
"Um… well… about that. We’re not dating."
"He calls you princess?"
"Yeah… because of Princess Aurora."
"He called you darling?"
"He's southern."
"He kissed you."
"You got me there. But… we aren't dating."
"Yet?"
Aurora nodded shyly, "Hopefully, yet."
"Well he needs to hurry up and grow some balls to ask you out. Then ask us for permission." Aurora laughed and went to hug her grandma.
"Thanks Abuela."
"Now come on and help me prep, I'm sure your little skinny friend needs some good food in her stomach." The doorbell rang, Aurora glanced at Jacinda, "Speak of the devil."
She went and opened the door, seeing Bella. The girl hurried in, hastily taking off her shoes and rushed to Aurora’s side, "You guys kissed!"
"Bells! Calm down. How did you even know?"
"Well uh… I… happened to glance outside and the curtains were open and I saw him kiss you!"
"You were spying on me?"
"No?"
"Very convincing Bells. But yeah we kissed." They grinned at each other.
"Yes, yes, yes, Aurora found her prince charming. Now hurry up, help me prep and cook."
Bella laughed and Aurora rolled her eyes, but the girls went into the kitchen to help. The evening was spent cooking, cracking jokes, and full of life with the three of them. Bella felt as if this was the missing puzzle piece from her life.
The night crept up on the Flores house, Bella left, excited to talk more about the enigma known as Jasper Hale and Edward Cullen. Amora opened the door slowly and quietly. As she closed the door with a soft click, the hallway light turned on. Jacinda was sitting there doing her sudoku and drinking her coffee. "I'm surprised you didn't stay out til 12."
Amora rolled her eyes. "Mama, I'm not a teenager no more."
"And yet here we are."
She rolled her eyes again. "How was the date, mija?"
"It went pretty good."
"Hmmm."
"How was Aurora and her study partner?"
Jacinda looked up at her, then back to her sudoku, "You gotta ask her that mija."
Amora narrowed her eyes. "Alright, I will. But you try to go to sleep, before you're up all night till the sun rises."  Jacinda waved a dismissive hand towards her daughter, and Amora went up stairs to go to sleep.
Friday morning rolled around and Aurora woke up with a smile on her face. She turned her head, sight fixed on the Jasper stone. She replayed that moment in her head and squealed. She went down stairs, where her mother was making coffee.
"Good morning mama."
"Hi cariño, good morning. How was yesterday?"
Aurora nervously looked at her, "Well. Actually… um."
"Let me guess,” she gave a fake pensive look, “you two kissed?"
Silence was in the air again. Aurora's gaze dropped to her shoes, "It was more like a peck?"
"Hmm." Amora stirred her coffee, "Do you like him?"
"Yes."
"Can you handle a relationship and on top of your classes, well maintaining your gpa?"
"Yes."
Amora exhaled, "Is he nice to you?"
"Very much so."
“Will you tell him about,” she paused, not knowing how to say the next word.
“I know mama, I will. I wouldn’t be able not to.”
"Okay,” she breathed out a sigh, "Well, when he asks you out, you have permission. Abuela and I still have to meet him though. But you should tell him about Celio."
"Really?" Aurora was excited. “And of course.”
"Yes, really. Now come give me a hug."
Aurora was in her arms in a blur, "Oh my little girl, about to start dating. Then you’ll get married! No, you’re not allowed to."
"Okay calm down."
She faked sobbed, "All grown up." Aurora rolled her eyes.
Her and Bella pulled into school as the bell rang. They rushed out of the car into their respective classes waving bye to each other. Aurora sat next to Jasper, she blushed and he smiled at her.
"Hey there princess." Aurora's stomach did flips. She felt giddy.
"Hi." As class started and the teacher droned on, Jasper slowly inched his hand towards Aurora. Halfway through the class, Jasper firmly clasped their hand together. Aurora's heart started to beat faster, and she closed her hand around his. Aurora got used to Jasper’s numbingly cold body temperature. Each class, somehow their hands always found their way together.
When lunch time came, Jasper glanced around and made the surrounding area of people disinterested in them. He checked one more time before he gave her a kiss on the head before they parted their ways. She went towards Bella in the end of the parking lot while Jasper went towards the school entrance where his siblings were.
Bella looked up from the book, and saw Aurora standing in front of her.
"Guess what?"
"Chicken butt?"
"Very funny."
"I know I'm a comedian."
Bella rolled her eyes. She shot a glance at the Cullens before her eyes met Edwards. She moved Aurora to the side of her and scooted them a little backwards, " Haha. No. You know how when I first met Edward and he was like a total dick and like hated me?"
“Sure, vaguely."
Bella lightly tapped Aurora with the book, "Aurora! I'm serious," she emphasized her last word by raising her voice.
Aurora threw her hands in mock surrender," Okay, okay, jeez yes he was an asshat. What about it?"
"All of a sudden after being gone for a week, M.I.A. He is nice to me! Like genuine interest and conversing with me!"
"Really?"
"Yes!"
"So like some Jekyll and Hyde type thing?"
"That's what it feels like! I feel like I'm going-," a screech was heard from the opposite side of the parking lot. Tyler swerved out of the way from the back car, the black ice made Tyler lose control of the van. Aurora turned to look and pulled Bella closer to the van. They braced to be crushed. Aurora's left arm felt pressure and snap was heard, Bella hand wrist shattered and Aurora's shoulder was dislocated.
Aurora yelped in pain, as did Bella. Aurora eyes welled up from the tears. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck." Bella was silently crying and clutching her hand.
She turned slightly and looked up, Jasper was there and had a big dent. She turned to Bellas direction and saw Edward through tears.
"Okay darling, I'm going to pop it in place okay?"
Aurora's eyes widened in fear. She shook her head no. Jasper took off his jacket and balled up the sleeve. "Bite this."
"No, no, no. Jasper please no."
He held the sleeve in front of her. She stared at him with bloodshot eyes and tears falling. She took it with her other hand and bit down on the sleeve, "Okay ready?"
She shook her head, "1, 2-" a pop was heard as was her muffled scream.
She breathed heavily. A fresh set of tears falling now. The ambulance appeared. She passed out. Bella calling her name went deaf to her ears. Aurora woke up in a bed. The bright lights did not help her unfocused sight. Her mother was hovering over her, Dr. Cullen put the smelling salt away.
"Aurora, cariño."
Aurora hummed and closed her eyes. She shifted and pain exploded. "Fucking christ!"
Amora got closer, "Mi amor don't move too much okay." There was a nod given as she shifted back down.
"Hello Ms. Flores. I am Dr-."
Aurora's eyes flew open, "How's Bella? And Jasper? And Edward?"
"I'm right here Aurora. Dr.Cullen just finished patching me up." She turned her head and saw Bella in the bed next to her, a cast on her wrist.
She sighed in relief. "Okay, okay good." She looked at the young doctor, "I'm sorry, I know I passed out but I didn't know what happened to Bella. Being crushed and then having my shoulder popped back in kinda made the memories fuzzy."
"No apologies needed Ms. Flores. As I was saying though, your shoulder is in a cast. I was told my son Jasper popped it into place, very well so there's no issues. Just rest, take your medication, and when the time is right do exercises to strengthen it."
Aurora nodded, "Okay. Thank you, and Aurora is fine."
"We want to monitor you for a few hours and then you're fine to leave later today."
"So she's good to go? No surgery or extra care."
"No like I said Jasper popped it back into place quite fine, the brace is just to help make sure it stays there and give extra support. She'll be given pain management medication, but other than that she's okay. No head trauma, no other breaks. Just her shoulder."
"Thank you Doctor Cullen. And please thank your son Jasper for us."
Carlisle nodded. "How is he?" Carlisle turned his attention back to the young girl.
"He's fine, no need to worry." Aurora nodded and dozed off.
Bella got up to go to the cafeteria, Charlie and Amora were whispering to each other, probably about them. She heard a familiar voice in the hall, "Seriously, both of you!"
"What you rather they had been crushed!" Edward glowered at Rosalie while Jasper huffed.
"Of course not! But Bella already questioned everything and so will Aurora, the two of them are not stupid!" Rosalie growled.
"Okay let's calm down and take this back to my office." Bella flinched when Jasper layed eyes on her, they were cold and murderous. The rest of the Cullen's eyes were on her. Carlisle herded his children to his office while Edward went the opposite way and sought out Bella.
"Eavesdropping now?"
"What was that? I saw you on the other side of the parking lot and suddenly you're behind me?"
Edward avoided Bella’s gaze, "Yeah, um...I had an adrenaline rush. It's very common. You can Google it." Bella huffed and rolled her eyes.
Aurora woke up an hour later, the pain in her shoulder was still there. Amora, Charlie, and Bella got up when she groaned. She saw the three of them, and gave a weak smile. "Great news everyone, we weren't crushed to death."
Amora eyes watered, "Aurora Evangeline Cordova Flores! This is serious. You and Bella could have died!"
Aurora gave a sad smile, "But we didn't, we're still here. Still breathing and hearts pumping. So please, I am in pain and am trying to make light of this."
Amora wiped her eyes, "Fine you can crack some jokes." She stressed the word 'some.' She couldn't deal with the almost dying jokes, not again.
Aurora smiled and then grimaced, the pain was pulsating, "When can we go? And when can I get hopped up on more drugs?"
Charlie laughed as soon as he heard Aurora finish her sentence. Amora shook her head at her incredulous daughter, "Soon cariño. Just relax." The adults left to find the Doctor.
Bella stood closer to Aurora. "Hey there."
"Hey there, one of my saviors." Bella chuckled. "I'm serious if you wouldn't have pulled me in closer and to the side..." she trailed off.
The older girl nodded, not wanting to think about the other possibility. "So was I hallucinating or were Jasper and Edward there? Like they physically stopped the car and left dents?"
Bella's eyes widened," Yes!" She excitedly whispered. "No one believes me, say that they came afterwards to help you but I knew I saw them! Plus I overheard them talking about us questioning them, and then Edward said no one would believe us!" This was too much for Aurora to handle.
"So they saved us and regret it or what?"
"I don't know, but there is something off."
"Oh yeah for sure. We're gonna find out Bells." Bella nodded.
Aurora went home around 8 pm. They grabbed pizza on the way home, Bella and Charlie came over after both girls pleaded for Bella to spend the night since it was the weekend. The two almost died so it was hard to say no.
Jacinda jumped and rushed to the door hearing the car in the driveway. She saw her grand-daughter in a shoulder cast and her little friend with a wrist.
"Oh pobrecitas. Ven, vamos a meterte dentro."
She waved them to the couch. Amora helped Aurora take off her shoes and helped her to the couch, Charlie did the same for Bella. Jacinda brought the girl some albondiga soup, "Here Charlie and Amora help feed these kids. I added beef bone broth and chicken bone broth to it. You have to start early with healing."
The girls filled up on the soup, feeling the warmth spread through their body. "Thank you Ms. Flores, this was really good."
"You're welcome cariño. Now you and Aurora rest and watch some tv." She got the plates and put them in the sink. She went to her room and grabbed 2 extra blankets, and hurried back to the other room, "Here stay warm." The two teenage girls thanked Jacinda.
The older three headed to the dining room. "What happened Amora?" Jacinda whispered.
"From what Bella told us, they were right next to Bella’s truck talking, and this kid Tyler, who will by the way get his license suspended, swerved away from a car backing out and almost killed them." Amora nodded to Charlie's retelling.
"The doctor said that Jasper, his son, popped Aurora's shoulder back in place so it should heal no problem. And that Bella's wrist was broken but that too will heal fine. He prescribed pain killers for the girls and check-ups."
Jacinda nodded. "Okay. Did he say when they should be healed?"
"About 6-12 weeks or so." Jacinda nodded. The girls were dozing off, as the adults continued to talk, eating the pizza they got on the way home.
