Rebirth - CH.16 : Prom
Jasper Cullen × OC 《- Previous chapters Word Count: 2.8k Summary: Fun prom times
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Edward and Jasper sat in the living room awkwardly, trying to not maintain eye contact with the Chief. He sat there, cleaning his shotgun. Jasper cleared his throat, “How are you Chief Swan?” Edward glanced at Jasper, thinking he was crazy to engage with the man.
“I’ve been better, ya know having your daughters in the hospital isn’t the greatest feeling.” He cocked the gun back into place.
Jasper nodded and shut up quickly. ‘What the hell am I supposed to say to that?’ Edward pressed his lips together in a tight line. He was trying so hard not to laugh.
“I’m sorry.” What else could he say? “I should’ve been there, maybe things would’ve been different?”
“Where were you exactly?”
“I was getting food for them, Bella and Aurora wanted to try this Thai food place, something new. I came back and it had already happened.”
Charlie looked at the blonde teenager, examining him almost before turning to Edward; he squinted his eyes at him. “Well, no one’s blaming you kid.” His attention was on Edward but didn't say anything.
Before the tension could get heavier, Bella was on the staircase. She awkwardly stood near the railing, Edward went to help his date but alas Charlie beat him to the punch. He helped his daughter down the stairs to her prom date, however displeased he was.
She stood in front of Edward, eyes filled with happiness and possibly love. She glanced down at her dress, “This dress is the one Aurora and I got at Port Angeles. Good thing it fits over the cast huh?”
“You are… absolutely perfect,” he smiled as took in her presence fully. He turned his attention towards Charlie, “I'll take good care of her, Chief.”
The man rolled his eyes, “Heard that before.” Edward gave an awkward nod. Before Edward was able to whisk Bella away, Charlie gently moved Bella to the side, “I put new pepper spray in your bag.”
“Dad,” she was astonished that her dad would say that with Edward and Jasper so close.
“... and of course... you look beautiful.” Bella smiled at her father and he smiled at her, a tender moment between the pair. Amora came down the stairs and Bella and Charlie hugged, she was quick with and snapped the shot. The two were caught off guard and blinked rapidly, trying to shed the white blinks now.
‘These two have no recent pictures,’ Edward gave a small smile at Amora’s thoughts. Compared to Renee these were light and refreshing, nothing at all like whirl-wind of selfishness and loudness that women had. “Gee Amora, I don’t think Bella wants to go to the prom blind now.”
The woman rolled her eyes, instead of dignifying that with a response she took another blinding picture. Bella laughed at her dads stupor, she had already faced the other way in case of the high chance that Amora would take another one. She turned her attention to the boys who stepped back faces down.
“Oh no you don’t, front and center please.” The two teenage boys grimaced but followed the order. “Okay Bella, go stand in the middle, I want a lot of pictures.” Bella shot her dad a pleading look, which he shrugged to, ‘Coward.’
The flash went off, “Now Bella by yourself, smile dear.” Click. “Ok Edward and Bella.” Click. “Now Edward and Jasper.” Click.
The boys zoned in as Amora had Charlie and Bella take a picture, eavesdropping on Jasper's girlfriend. “Ama please.”
“I’m just saying, no funny business. You wouldn't want-”
“- I get it so please stop. We are all going together , so there isn’t a sliver of possibility of what you think might happen; It’s not going to happen, okay?”
“Just take these, just in case.” They all heard a shriek, and Edward turned toward the side to hide his laughing face, Jasper was able to deduce what the grandmother had given Aurora.
Moments later Aurora came to the end of the stair railing, looking flushed and flustered. After Bella was done taking a picture with Amora and Charlie, Aurora came into the frame with Amora rushing her with her voice. “Hurry up Aurora, Jasper sweetie get another with all of now finally since Sleeping Beauty took her time.”
Jasper smiled at Aurora’s and Amora’s bickering. “Okay now Bella and Aurora.” Click. “All four of you.” Click. “Now Jasper and Aurora.” Click. Finally after like 5 more pictures with different pairings, the teenagers were off.
“You didn't need to take so many Amora.”
“I'm sure Rene would appreciate some pictures of Bella and Edward. Plus I'm positively sure Edward and Jasper's parents want pictures of them and their dates.”
“I want them back at exactly at 12.”
“Copy Chief.”
Charlie gave Edward an unimpressed look…was he hiding a smile behind that look? He would never admit it but just nodded at the young looking boy. The two couples made their way to the car, Jasper driving to quote, “Sorry younger brother, back seat,” which made the teenager laugh quietly. Not wanting to add to Edward’s humiliation.
Aurora helped Bella out of the car, the teenage boys went to park the car - having matters to discuss with one another. Aurora helped Bella to sit when rustling in the bushes were heard, Jacob emerged from the bushes with Embry in tow.
“Hey Bella! Aurora!”
The two girls turned around, hearing Jacob’s voice. Aurora’s face lit up, “Hey Jake, hey Bry!”
“Jake!”
The pair of tan boys walked up to the girls, “Hey sleepy, hey Bella.”
“What are you guys doing here?” Bella gave Jacob a hug as Aurora gave Embry one.
“Oh just something stupid….” he trailed off not looking them in the eyes, whilst Embry rolled his.
Aurora and Bella shared a look, “Which is?”
“It’s just that… well… the th-”
“-oh jeez Jake,” again Embry rolled his eyes, “Jake’s dad doesn’t want you hanging out with the Cullen freaks.”
“Embry!”
Embry shrugs off the scolding tone she relayed and shook his head, “What? It’s true, his dad doesn’t want you hanging around them. Asked us to warm you guys.”
“Yeah… My dad says they’re bad news. To steer clear, ” Jacob pressed his mouth into a thin line.
“Ugh Jake come on.”
“What Bella?”
“I appreciate the concern but I’m good.”
Bella went to move off the bench, Aurora went to help her as did Jacob. The air was a bit tense when Jasper and Edward swooped into the conversation. “Jacob. I got it from here.” Jacob recoiled from his presence, the two glaring at each other. Jasper appeared by Aurora’s side, quietly assessing the situation. He made direct eye contact with the slightly shorter teenager, he could feel the animosity rolling off of them.
“Guess I’ll see you later, Bells. You too Aurora.” He stepped back waiting for Embry.
He was irrationally angry and something was telling him not to trust the pale boys in front of him. Aurora went towards the Quileute boys but Jasper held her in place. She gave her a questioning glance, and he shook his head. She furrowed her brows and yanked herself away from Jasper’s hold.
Embry looked at Aurora’s eyes, there was a warmth in them. She gave him a hug, “Bye Bry, now be nice or I have to withhold my book recommendations.”
He returned her hug and huffed out a chuckle, his mood started to lighten, “Alright Sleepy, I’ll try. Bye.”
Jasper gritted his teeth, he could feel the infatuation rolling off Embry. Edward watched his brother, he could hear all the ways Jasper wanted to ripe the tan boy off of Aurora. Jacob lightly pulled Embry when they released each other, Aurora smiled and waved. Bella looked at Edward and Jasper, the two of them seemed put off and angry.
‘Maybe Edward is right…’ Jasper couldn’t help but think that after the hug he saw.
Bella and Edward headed first to the dance, “ I can't believe you're making me do this.’ Edward grinned at her statement. As they walked closer in, their picture was taken. The Monte Carlo style prom was well executed, with gaming tables and roulette wheels, with the other teens surrounding said table at the chance to win prizes.
Bella gawked at the flamboyant layout, “You really are trying to kill me.”
“Prom is an important rite of passage. I don't want you to miss anything.” A smile tugged at her lips, as she shook her head affectionately.
While the pair of teens inside the dance were conversing more and more, the pair outside were more so arguing.
“What was that about?”
Jasper clenched his jaw, “Nothing.”
“It was not nothing. What is your problem with Embry and Jacob?”
He looked away and shrugged. His silence was starting to irritate Aurora, “Jasper?”
Silence.
“Are you serious? You’re gonna give me the silent treatment for a question?”
Again, silence.
“Okay well I’m going to go inside, have fun with my friends. You can stay here and sulk at the fact your girlfriend has friends from the Quileute tribe.”
As she turned around to leave Jasper, he finally spoke, “He likes you.”
She turned to face him again, “What?”
“He likes you,” was uttered through gritted teeth.
“Okay?”
Jasper furrowed his eyebrows, “What?”
“I know he likes me, or well I thought just liked - past tense that is.”
“You know and you’re still friends with him? Leading him on?”
She glared at him for the insinuation, “I’m not leading him on! What the fuck Jasper? I like Embry as a friend. And despite him liking me like that he still sees me as a friend. And knows I’m with you!”
Jasper looked away, he couldn’t hold her gaze. “Look Jaz. Embry told me, and I told him while I appreciate him and he’s one of my best friends, I like you. Maybe if we never would have met, he and I could've gone out… but I met you. I'm not going to leave you.”
He nodded, still slightly ashamed of accusing his girlfriend. “Jaz, can you look at me?”
Gold amber met cinnamon brown, she gave him a warm smile. “I’m sorry darlin’.”
“You have to respect that I am friends with Embry. He’s my friend.”
He nodded, and she held her arms out. As the pair hugged, Jasper laid a kiss on the top of her head. “I’m sorry Aurora, really. I swear I will respect your friendship with Embry….”
“But?”
“But… if he makes a pass on you I will tear him limb from limb.”
Aurora raised an eyebrow at his threat, “Alright cowboy, I will keep that in mind.”
He gently grabbed her hand, kissing the top of it. “Let’s go inside princess. Your prom night awaits you.”
She returns his grab and smiles, “Let’s go Jaz.” They made their way inside, catching up to Bella and Edward.
“Bells!”
The girl with the cast turned to face the person who called her name. She smiled as she saw Aurora and Jasper together, worried they were going to fight and Aurora’s night would be ruined. As the girls met, a flash went off and their attention turned to Mike and Erica. Bella made eye contact with Erica and motioned towards her breast, as the dress exposed and pushed them up. Aurora and Bella gave a thumbs up, which their friend returned.
The music switched and their gaze made it to turntables, where Eric was the DJ and Angela was listening to music in the headphones and flipping through the next vinyls for the next song. Angela was lost in her own world as Eric helped her.
Edward was about to speak when he and Aurora made eye contact. She raised an eyebrow, ‘Hmm need some alone time already pervert?’
Edward’s jaw dropped and Aurora made an excuse of wanting to chat with the Cullen siblings, winking at Bella and Edward. “Shall we?”
Bella laughed at the absurdity of the question, “Oh. You're serious.”
He gave a lopsided grin, and escorted her outside, “There, are less eyes on you better?”
The gazebo was almost empty, with only another couple lingering by. Edward all but carries her up the steps. He settles her atop of his feet, and starts to sway.
“See? You're dancing,” Bella shyly looked away, as she was actually enjoying this. Bella looked at Edward, truly, taking him in. His golden eyes, his chestnut brown hair. He met her gaze, eyes filled with love and sorrow.
“Edward…. Why did you save me?” He gave her a questioning look, “If you'd let the venom spread, I could've been like you by now.
He stopped swaying, eyes filled with horror at what Bella had spouted, “You don't know what you're saying. You don't want this.”
“I want you. Always.”
“I won't end your life for you.” He started to sway again, hoping the conversation was done.
“I'm dying anyway. Every minute, I get closer, older-”
“-That's how it's supposed to happen.”
“Not the way Alice saw it. I heard her. She saw me like you.”
He stopped again, “Her visions change, Bella.”
“Based on what someone decides. And I've decided.”
Anger seeped into his voice, “Is that what you dream about? Becoming a monster?”
Bella lightly rubbed his shoulder, an attempt to ease the vampire, “I dream about being with you forever.”
“You really want this?”
“Yes.”
He lowers his lips to her neck. Hearing the pulse, feeling the warmth of her skin, one bite is all it would take. “You're ready right now?
“Yes.”
His lips hover over her skin, there was a pause. He hovered still, in a fascinated stupor like trance. Bella’s eyes fluttered and the trance was broken. There was not a bite but a kiss. He looked at her, “You're going to have a long and happy life with me. Isn't that enough?”
He brought them back up, and twirling themselves. She gave a smile at him, “For now.” He twirled again, leaving the matter unsettled. Neither of them giving in to the other, both seemingly knowing what they want and not backing down.
With the matter outside unsettled the matter inside was the same. Jasper and Aurora snuck off to a classroom, the flashing lights and obnoxious sounds by the other students were starting to give Aurora a headache.
Jasper took his suit coat off, the black button up was clad against his body. Aurora flushed at her thought and looked away. Jasper turned his attention on her, he could feel her lust tenfold. He smirked, “Why Miss Aurora, are you having scandalous thoughts?”
Embarrassment was rolling off her, “Oh my god Jasper.”
A grin replaced the smirk, “So you were.”
She huffed out a breath, “Am I not allowed to admire my boyfriend?”
He sat on the stool, gently grabbing her waist pulling her forward. “I didn’t say that now.”
“Hmmm. It was implied, no?”
She placed her arms circling his shoulders, “I would never even imagine saying that to you darlin’.”
She laid her head atop of his, “How are you Jaz?”
“Hmm?”
“How’s the appetite … your control?”
“It’s never a problem with you.” ‘Now.’
She nodded, not fully convinced. “So….”
“So,” he drew out the vowel.
“What is to become of us Jasper?”
‘The full name was never a good sign.’ “What do you mean darlin?”
“Jasper. You are a vampire and I am … not. I am assuming this could not last like this forever. I’m sure it is not protocol to be ‘consorting’ with humans.”
“While it isn’t exactly smiled upon sugar,” he laid his head on her chest.
As she put her head on top of his, she spoke, “Am I to assume that this will end with me like you?”
He heard her heart quicken, an uneasiness was felt. “Is that something you would want?”
“I don’t know.”
“It doesn’t have to be like that Aurora.”
“Are you breaking some vampire law that will get you in trouble if found out?”
He averted his gaze, sensing if he lied - Aurora would know. “Possibly.”
“Can I settle on a soft yes? I want to be with you Jaz, truly… but I don’t want to leave everything behind. I wouldn’t be able to handle the thirst, so I wouldn’t be able to be with my family.”
He nodded, now agreeing with what Edward had discussed with him when parking the car. Aurora looked at Jasper, who looked heartbroken. She cupped his jaw softly, redirecting his sight to her, “Jasper?”
Aurora could get lost in his eyes forever, “Hmm?”
“I’m glad I’m with you.” There was nothing but sincerity. His lips sought hers and a chaste kiss was in bloom.
As the two were distracted by one another they missed the person making their way down the stir and out the school. Victoria's face was filled with hate and vengeance for her beloved who was killed. Her red hair and burgundy eyes were burning with animosity, she was going to get her revenge one way or another.

Rebirth - CH.15 : The Perfect Statue
Jasper Cullen × OC 《- Previous chapters Word count: 4.5k Summary: Hospital times and family members. Not beta read.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first thing she felt was pain, then the warmth of the sunlight. The smell of a distinct clean mix with disinfectant was in the air, and the awful non stopping beep was heard. Bella’s eyes fluttered open, instantly regretting as the harsh sunlight blinded her. She groaned at the glare of the light, giving her a headache. When moving she felt the nose tube move with her, she had realized where she was at, a hospital. ‘Why am I at the hospital?’ Spiraling, Bella's mind whirls as the heart monitor starts to beep faster in a non rhythmical pattern.
A soft hand reaches for her, gently resting on her arm. “Baby, you’re awake, it’s okay. You’re okay. I’m here.” The familiar voice soothed the distraught girl. Bella took in her state as she stared at the hand resting on her arm. She laid there bruised, cut up and in a cast again. Finally looking at her mother, rene sat there, tears glistening but not yet falling, almost refusing to. “Baby it’s okay, you’re fine now.” Her tone was almost gentle and caring, noticing her daughter's distressed face.
Bella nodded, confused still. She looked further around and noticed by her bedside ‘Get Well Soon’ cards and pictures from her friends.looking at them she felt as if something was missing. Someone was cut out.
“Edward!”
Rene was taken aback from the outburst from her daughter. “He’s here, right there Bella. It’s okay.” She motioned with her head, where Edward laid, in normal teenage clothing, pretending to be a normal teenager as well. “He never leaves. And your dad's down in the cafeteria.”
But something still didn’t feel right, something ached deep inside her but what could it possibly be. Ignoring the ache and dreadful feeling, Bella asked, “What... happened?
Renes' eyes widened in shock, “You don't remember? Baby, you fell down two flights of stairs and through a window.” Bella drew a blank face, unable to remember. Her mother sighed, “Edward came here to convince you to come back to Forks. His father brought him down since his other brother knew came with you with that girl. You went to their hotel but you tripped on the stairs.”
Bella nodded, it slowly clicked in head, ‘A cover story.’ She gave a forced chuckle, “Sounds like me.” Another thing clicked as well. “Wait! The girl, is she okay mom? Where is she? I need to see her.”
Bella was filled with worry, she moved to rip the cords off her, “Sweetie no stay where you are. She’s … going to be fine.”
“Mom. Please. I have to see her.”
“There’s no non-blood visitors right now. Unless approved by her mother. Just stay here and calm down Bella. The stress isn’t good for you and I doubt it will be good for the girl and her family, okay.”
The mentioning of possibly stressing out Amora and Jacinda made Bella hesitate. She bit her lip and nodded. Rene’s phone gave a weak beep, she gave Bella a smile and opened it. She gave a soft smile at the text and started to respond.
“It's Phil. He's worried about you.”
“Mom, you're... texting.”
Rene smiled, this seemingly mediocre thing helped Bella calm down a bit, “I told him to stay in Florida. The Suns signed him!”
“That's great mom.”
“Jacksonville is always sunny and you'll have your own bathroom-.”
          .
“Mom, wait. I want to live in Forks. I have Dad.. and friends-”
          .
Rene cut off her daughter, a playful smirk tugged at her lips, “And he's there.”
Bella shrugs, not knowing if her mom knows about Amora, and well, her new step-sister.
Rene shook her head, “Well Charlie doesn't like him. Blames him for your leaving. And well this whole situation right here.”
“What do you think?’
Rene eyed the young boy, getting a little closer to her daughter, in a hush tone she spoke, eyes sparkling as she said, “I think that boy is in love with you.”
Bella smiled and blushed at that, her mother grinned and nodded. Bella cleared her throat, “Um, Mom, would you mind getting Dad? I want to talk to him. Apologize.”
“I'm sure he doesn't care about that, Baby. He just cares about your safety. But I'll go get him.”
Rene fixed her daughter's blanket, and gave her a kiss on the forehead before heading out to find Bella’s father. Bella looked up, knowing Edward was here already.
“Where’s Aurora?”
“She's okay. She’... well-”
“Edward dont lie to me. How is she? What… what happened?
He gave a defeated sigh, “She’s in a coma. A medically induced coma…” The silence was off in a way, something unspoken.
“There's something you’re not telling!” Frustrated tears started to show in her eyes, the free verse of her heartbeat was growing louder.
Edward grabbed her hand, “Okay calm down, the doctors don’t want you to be stressed.”
“I wouldn’t be stressed if someone told me what is going on!”
He nodded, rubbing soothing circles on her palm, “I know, I know. Bella, Aurora hasn’t woken up. You were at least in and out of consciousness but she… I.. I can’t even hear her thoughts right now, Jasper can’t feel her emotions and… and Alice said her visions are blank,” defeat was evident in his tone.
Bella was at a loss for words. Her best friend was in a comatose state because of her. Fear hit her, “Is James - did you -”
“We took care of him. And the woman, Victoria, ran off. He’s gone, he can't hurt you or Aurora again.”
The relief Bella felt was fleeting. “I’m alive because of you, and Jasper, and… and-” a sob wracked through her. Edward wrapped his arms around her shaking frame.
“You’re both alive Bella.”
“She could be stuck in a coma forever because of me!” The panic settled nicely under her skin. Her gasp of breaths were loud and ragged, her heartbeat erratic. She started to rip out the cord and tried to get up.  The nurses came in and pushed Edward out. The last thing Bella saw before she was given something to calm her down, was Edward's eyes; worry and panic and pure guilt. ‘You're in here because of me.’
Amora sat there, completely still, as if a statue devoid of emotion. She stared at the rising of her daughter's chest, hooked up to machines helping her stay alive. She felt her mother’s hand grip hers, the sound of whispers filled the room. Her mother had a rosary and a small bible out. Maybe she was bargaining with God. Maybe Amora should too, it worked once before.
She turned her attention to father and son sleeping in the corner.  She stared and prayed for anything, a twitch of her finger, her eyes pening if only briefly just something to show her daughter was still alive and there. But of course, nothing happened. Her eyes glistened from the unfallen tears, she abruptly stood up and went outside, the room was suffocating. Jacinda stopped her prayers at the sudden loss of her daughter's hand, she watched as her daughter cried all but running outside. She glanced at Aurora, feeling defeated. She made her away towards the young boy.
“Jasper,’ she shook him slightly.
Feigning tiredness, Jasper slowly blinked his eyes awake, “Hmm?”
“Amora needed a minute, and- just,” she cleared her throat, it for some reason was too tight to talk, “get us if..something, anything happens.” He gave a nod and Jacinda left the room as well. Jasper stared at Aurora’s lifeless figure, the only thing that kept him sure she wasn't a statue at this point was the ever so slight rise in her chest. Carlisle went towards the girl, checking her eyes, pupils still dilating, heartbeat was strong, just not her spirit to wake up. Jasper went to her as well, grabbing her hand.
“I will check with the doctor.” Sensing that Jasper wanted to speak to the room hoping Aurora might hear him.
Jasper continued to stare at the young girl, his resolve shattering; he'd give anything to scream or cry right now. But he couldn’t. He sucked in a useless breath, murmuring into the silence, only beeps of her monitor accompanying him, “I need you to wake up darlin’, everyone is waiting for you to open your eyes and give a snarky remark, smile and laugh, just… be alive. Please. Anything Aurora, anything. I’ll be waiting for a sign.”
Maybe there was a god after all, maybe he was giving the damned a glimmer of hope. Aurora’s hand twitched in his. ‘Can vampires hallucinate?’ he must have imagined it. He waited again though, lightly squeezing her hand back. A minute passed, then another, then as soon as he was sure he was hallucinating or God was playing tricks on him, a more forceful squeeze was felt. He jumped out of his seat, feeling pain radiate from Aurora.
“Carlisle!” and like magic his father was there, “I swear she grabbed my hand, I can feel her emotions. I swear.” The doctor nodded, and gently grabbed Aurora’s hand.
“Aurora, dear, just one more time. Squeeze both your hands this time.” The clock ticked, ticked, and ticked until her hand twitched once more. It was light and almost flutter-like but Aurora tried to squeeze.
Carlisle gave a breath filled laugh, “That’s it Aurora.” She had the will after all.
Jasper made his way to the door, “I’m going to get her mom!”
“Nurse!” Aurora’s eyes moved while being closed, frantic.
Jasper found Amora behind the hospital, he felt her grief and sorrow. She was sobbing in her mothers arm. “Mi amor, she’s going to wake up. I just know it.”
Another sob and another wave of pain strike grief hit him. Jacida felt the eyes on her and looked towards the teenage boy, eyes watery and filled with despair. But upon seeing Jasper there was a tinge of hope that resurrected. Her eyebrows raised, asking the silent question to which he gave a nod. She screamed relief which startled Amora, she too gave the same look and he responded the same way. She scrambled to her feet, giving the ice-cold boy a hug.
“Thank you Jasper. I don’t doubt you did something or said something that woke her up.” Relief washed over the trio, the relief washing away Jasper’s bloodlust from being close to humans still.
The women made their way inside and Jasper sat, the shade covering him from the exposing sun. He looked up, contemplating how or to who or where he should give thanks. Because right now, two God believing women gave thanks to a blood sucking demon. He shook his head and filled his lungs with less blood filled air. He made his way inside.
There she was. Awake. Breathing. Blinking. Alive. He could cry tears of joy if he could. After the doctor's assessment , and Carlisle assessment too, Amora trusted him a little more given she knew him. Amora finally hugged her child, and felt that warm and loving filled hug in return. Aurora gave a runt as her mother squeezed hard.
“You're gonna break me. I still need to breathe.”
“Shh. I’m allowed to hug you however long and hard I want.” Her mother relented, though it wouldn’t have mattered because Jacinda was next to give her a bone crushing hug.
Carlisle smiled at the family, glad Aurora and now Bella, had this love in their human life. Aurora looked over to the vampire she held dear in heart. She motioned slightly with her head to come closer, seeing as her arms are in a literal bind by hugs. While he might have not noticed, Carlsile did, he was able to finally break through the bloodlust for Aurora. Jasper got closer to the bedside that was unoccupied by the Flores women. When Jacinda finally let her granddaughter go, Aurora turned her attention to Jasper. His eyes black now, from the lack of hunting, he couldn’t leave her side.
“Hey there cowboy.”
He gave a chuckle, “Still in the mood for jokes huh?”
She cracked a smile, and shrugged, “You said I was able to.”
Jasper was taken aback, “You heard that?”
“Yeah, I just needed to wake up and be snarky.”
“Not even 5 seconds awake and you’re already joking Aurora. I swear, you are lucky you’re already in the hospital.”
She gave a weak chuckle, wincing at the pain. “I’m okay mama, really. I woke up and am here with you.”
There was a knock on the door, Aurora turned and there was a tan man with a long braid. Jasper's eyes were knitted in confusion. The man looked native, maybe from the Quileute tribe, but why would he be here for Aurora?
“Dad?” The room paused, the two vampires speechless, “What are you doing here?”
Jasper blinked back the astonishment, ‘Dad? But she smells human?’ Dr. Cullen was having the same thought process as his adoptive son.The unnamed father examined the room, before landing on his daughter. “You’re in the hospital, shouldn’t that be reason enough?” Her fathers eyes softened, “Carino….”
The air was tense, as the father moved deeper into the room. Just as he was going to speak, another man appeared.
“Bella had to be seda-,” he sucked in a breath, “-Aurora!” He flew in, gently touching her cheek, tears welling in his eyes. He gave her a hug, sighing in relief.
Aurora returned the hug, patting Charlie on the back, “I’m okay Mr. Charlie, even ask Dr. Cullen.”
His gaze turned towards the doctor, who nodded wordlessly - his eyes were still on Aurora's father. He gave a nod, and ruffled her hair, “Alright kiddo.” She gave a warm smile, and gave a pat on his hand.
Her father cleared his throat, and eyes resumed on him. Aurora looked down, contemplating on her next words. She finally met the eyes of her creator, light brown eyes staring in deep dark brown ones. She motioned him forward, Amora motioned Charlie closer to her - which he did so fast, reading the room. With arms extended her father hugged her, “Thanks for coming dad.” It was stiff and awkward, fitting for their relationship.
As Jasper stared at the father and daughter, he could see resemblance. The round face, high cheekbones, her straight as a line hair; she resembled her mother most but her father was softly evident as well.
When the hug ended, she patted the side of her bed, which he took, feeling the weight of the eyes from everyone. He grabbed her, the feeling of the slight warmth made her grab back. Her eyes shifted back towards Charlie, “Did you say something about Bella?”
The whole room turned towards him, now he felt that uneasiness of everyone staring at him. He glanced towards Amora, who looked up with hopeful eyes; he nodded, “Uh yeah, she’s fine. Woke up again and went back to sleep.” He left out the sedation, to not worry Aurora.
Jasper and Dr.Cullen slowly left the room, which Charlie followed after ruffling Aurora’s hair one more time; giving the family some space. As the trio made their way towards Bella’s hospital room to find and most likely console Edward whilst Charlie went to look after his daughter, Aurora began the interrogation.
She glanced at her dad, then her mom, “How long have you been here dad?”
He bumped his head against hers, “Since I found out, I got the first ticket I could. About 2 days.”
She hummed in response, “Did you just tell him or did you tell… Araceli too?”
“I told both, she hadn't been able to come because of work… and the baby too. Célio caught a cold. She sent pictures of his snotty little face, if you wanna see sweetie.”
“Later. I’m just glad dad is here.” Her mother smiled and went closer towards her, Jacinda following, grabbing her granddaughter’s hand. Her grandmother spoke, Aurora’s eyes widening at the news.
Edward stood there, the fluorescent lights bringing out his paleness even more. “So Aurora’s fine? Awake and okay?”
Jasper nodded, “Yeah her dad is here apparently.”
Edward cocked an eyebrow raise, “Has she ever mentioned her dad?”
With a shake of his head ‘No,’ Jasper shrugged as well, “How’s Bella? Charlie spoke about her being back to sleep?”
He clicked his tongue from the roof of his mouth, “Yeah when she learned Aurora was in a coma still started to get hysterical, they had to sedate her. Been asleep for hours now.” Dr.Cullen returned after chatting with Bella’s doctor, to get a better understanding of the young girl's condition.
When the girl returned to Forks, Aurora almost had a panic attack at the thought of being behind in school. Her mother assured her that the teachers understood and let her take her homework, in fact this whole unfortunate situation landed in the beginning of spring break, so there wasn't too much for her to miss.
Her father looked around her room, eyes immediately spotting the pencil cases he bought her. He hovered over it, afraid if he touched it - it would somehow magically break., “You still have these carino?”
Aurora peered over his left side, “Oh… um yeah, I like to think they give me inspiration.” She gave a light laugh, “It’s silly I know but whenever they’re around me, I start drawing, I dunno… I draw better.”
He gave a smile, “Nah it’s not silly, if it works it works.”
She nodded. He glanced and landed on a picture of her and Bella fresh out of the hospital the first time, “So your mom and that man… they together?”
She narrowed her eyes at her father, “Why?”
He raised an eyebrow at her, “Relax with look.”
“Dad. Yes they are together, and yes it’s serious, and yes I like him.”
He looked away, “It’s that serious huh?”
“Dad, you had your chance, then had it again, and again, and again. You can’t keep coming back and messing up moms life. My mother deserves to be happy and we both know it is not with you. Leave her alone dad.”
“Don’t fucking talk to me like that!” He stood there, eyes glowering with rage and disbelief.
“Oh I’m sorry, let me talk to you with respect like you were an actual father, because of course you were here, present, sacrificed a lot… oh wait,” she gave a humorless chuckle, “You weren’t dad, you were never here. You were off in the jungles of Brazil, leaving your kid and your wife alone, months at a time.”
“Aurora watch the tone,” he drew in a breath regaining his composure.
Before anything else could be said, a knock was heard. Jacinda was there, eyebrow raised, unlit cigarette in hand. “Really Nu, arguing with a teenager after she got out of the hospital?”
The man was still, rolling his eyes, “Hello Jacinda.”
She lit the cigarette, “Alright enough scolding him Aurora, I’ll take it from here. Your little weda friend and your boyfriend are here to help set her room up. And you,” she pointed to the man with a braid, “You and I are gonna have a talk outside.”
Her father nodded, “Fine. I’ll be back in a bit to discuss this boyfriend thing.”
He went towards Aurora and gave her a hug, “Dad?” He hummed in response, “I’m sorry, it’s… it’s just - moms finally happy.”
He nodded, throat a little too tight to talk. He let her go and followed the matriarch. Moments later Jasper is there, with balloons and a basket, “Hey here darlin’.”
She smiled at the southern twang in his voice, “I suppose you heard that… argument.”
He gave a faux shocked look, “Me? Eavesdropping? Never, scouts honor.”
She laughed, “Convincing Jasper, really a ten out of ten performance.”
She sat in bed and he followed, “So you’re dad….” He let the silence take over.
“Yeah that’s him," he nodded, waiting for her to continue, she did after a minute to collect her thoughts, “My dad… he’s, well, he’s related to me for sure.” He gave her deadpan stare, “Fine, my dad and I haven’t always seen eye to eye for the simple version. I love him, don't get me wrong, and I’m sure he loves me all the same but there’s always been this sort of disconnect.”
“Disconnect?”
“How do I put it? Hmmm. He’s a very self loathing person, very negative outlook. To be fair to him, his mom - from what I’ve heard- was very…verbally harsh with him. She was crazy from what my mom told me, and didn't think my mom was good enough for her son, even though she didn't think her son was good enough for like life I guess.”
“So he was harsh on you too?”
She bit her lip and shook her head, “No, but … ok let me explain. When my father looks in the mirror he makes this face, I guess disgust, and every now and then I can see him look at me the same way. His self-disgust and loathing passed to me since I came from him. And I don’t hate my dad for it, I understand in a way. I want him to be happy truly, but I want my mom to be happy too. And she isn’t happy with him, maybe in the beginning when he's there but when he wakes up and leaves there is nothing but heartbreak.”
Jasper blew out a sigh, “That’s a lot for you to handle Princess.”
She nodded, “Yeah it is but that’s what happens when you have a dysfunctional family.”
Silence took over for a bit, the two of them sitting next to each other, hands held together.
Jacinda took a swig of her cigarette, letting the smoke fill her lungs before breathing it out. “Why are you still here Nu?”
“Oh for your charming company.”
“Ha funny.” Another swig, “Alright let’s cut to the chase, are you in trouble again?”
“No, no, that's not it.”
“Then?”
“I can’t miss my daughter?”
“The one you were yelling at?”
“She cussed at me-”
“-so you cussed at her back?”
“She shouldn't talk to me like that!”
“I’m not saying she should,” another inhale and exhale, “I’m saying you shouldn’t be surprised and react so fast. Don’t want to be your dad do you?”
“Oh I am far from that monster.”
“I know, but that temper you have… it matches him sometimes mijo.”
He rolled his eyes at the term, “Can I go back inside now? I don’t appreciate you letting that monster into the house.”
“That’s what we have to discuss, the Cullens.”
“Why is she close to vampires? I thought she would be safe here!” He whispered furiously at her.
She raised an eyebrow to him, “Oh forgive me, would you like to come back and actually be a parent?”
“That’s not fair and you know it.”
The old woman shrugged, “I will try my best to keep her away but she's her mother’s daughter, she will do what she puts her mind to.”
“Does she know? About what they are?”
“I think even if she did, she would still stay with him. Teenage love, something you were quite familiar with, no?” She dropped the butt of the cigarette and stomped on it. “Say your goodbye’s Nu, and I will keep you updated.”
He gritted his teeth together but relented. By the next morning Aurora's father was gone. Aurora hobbled her way towards the end of the hall,  checking on Bella. She saw the older girl, laying in bed with her foot propped up. Bella smiled when she saw her, “Hey.”
“Hey… how's the leg?”
“Better. How's all the um…”
“Cuts? Better, healing finally. Dr. Cullen said I'll probably have a couple of scars but I don't really care.”
Bella sucked in a breath, her guilt still heavy as she saw the bandages wrapped around the younger girl. “I'm sorry.”
Aurora raised an eyebrow, “Bella we've over this, you have nothing to apologize for. Seriously. I'm okay, you're okay, our family is okay.”
She gave a shaky breath and agreed with Aurora, “So, your dad left?”
“Yeah, went back to Brazil to stay with his Aunt.”
“You okay?”
“Yeah, don’t worry about me Bella, focus on actually getting better.”
“How’s your arm?”
“Fine actually, Dr. Carlisle said my shoulder actually healed a bit quicker than expected,” Aurora sat on Bella’s new bed.
“You sure you're gonna be fine all by yourself now?”
“Are you sure you’re going to be okay by yourself?” Bella teased back.
Aurora smiled, “Well if you ever wanna do sleep over night, I’m always down.” Bella gave a toothy smile and nodded. “How are things with you and Edwardo?”
Bella snorted, “Fine, all the time in the hospital he kept me company when my mom, dad, or your mom and grandma weren’t there. Talked a lot. How’s everything with Jasper?”
“Well my dad doesn’t like Jasper, thinks he’s gonna be bad for me. And surprisingly my grandma took his side.”
“Really? I thought she loved Jasper.”
“She does, just thinks I shouldn’t be dating in highschool or doing things that will distract me…  again.”
“Again?”
“Yeah, story for another time.” She waved her hand down, not wanting to talk about the past and what will come back to her eventually. Bella nodded, worried and concerned but she left the subject alone for a moment.
Trying to lighten the mood, Bella changed the subject, “Oh I forgot to tell you, I’m thinking of getting a job after school.”
“That’s nice. Where?”
“The diner my dad and I go to on Sunday nights every weekend. Yeah um Cora, a waitress there that’s been there like forever, said that the diner might need more help on the weekends with tourist season coming for La Push. Apparently a lot of people come to see the beaches since it’s so pretty.”
“Why are you thinking of getting a job?”
“I just don't want to hinder my dad with money stuff, that and to build the resume. Why? Did you want me to ask if they have another spot open?”
Aurora thought about it for a moment, “Yeh sure why not. My own money and yeah, have to start soon with that resume too.”
“You could probably start sooner, since I will be out on the benches for a while for anything.”
“Yeah I’ll go after school sometimes and talk to … Cora? Was it?” Bella nodded, “Alright, come one my one legged friend, dinner is ready.”
Bella threw a pillow at Aurora, who ever so eloquently did not dodge it, “That was a cheap shot, you’re lucky you’re in a cast right now. If not, I’d be hurdling all these pillows to your face,” Bella snorted after laughing while Aurora rolled her eyes.
She went and helped Bella up and down the hall, down the stairs, to their family. The Flores house was filled with chatter and excitement for Bella and Aurora for the upcoming prom.

2024 -New York City
Sam scanned the battle field, looking for any survivors. The buildings were destroyed, half crumbled while others completely gone. He pulled up the screen attached to his wrist, he scanned, slowly, making sure to assess every pile of rubble. Before he decided to shut it off, he saw warmth emitting from the grabble. It was small; child-like. He rushed over, throwing the rocks off the small boy. He grabbed the child, not paying attention to his face, just trying to do his best to not hurt the body.
“Jamie!” A woman appeared, eyes red, face full of sorrow.
You cleared more of the rocks, as Sam was able to pull the boy fully out. He laid him carefully, the scanner gave full body heat; he checked the pulse, it was strong. He turned to the boy's face, and saw… Bucky Junior.
He watched you hover over the kid, desperation evident in your tone, “Jamie? Jamie!”
The young boy emitted a groan, showing he could hear you. “Oh thank god,” you bawled, one hand clutching your chest, relief in your veins. You drew a shaky breath as you turned to Sam, grabbing his hands in yours, “Thank you so much. Thank you.” Your voice was shaky, your heart still lost in fear.
“You don’t have to thank me ma’am.”
You nodded furiously, ready to talk, when a soft voice was heard, “Mom?”
Eyes wide, you turned your attention to your son, “I’m here. I’m here Jamie.” Hugging the boy, as he gained further consciousness. Sam gave a soft pat on the shoulder, along with a nod, before walking away.
‘That kid looks like it could be Buck’s twin.’ His mind went to Zemos, and Bucky’s devoid of emotion, at that moment. He turned to see you with your son, still there helping him slowly get up, ‘She looks too normal… too nice.’ He watched as you dusted the debris of your son, long h/c hair in a braid, eyes full of love - something Hydra agents lacked.
It ate at the back of his mind for weeks, before he finally asked something, “Hey Buck?” The park was full, as the two grabbed lunch.
Bucky paused, mid-bite, eyebrows furrowed, “What?”
“When,” he hesitated, what if he was wrong.
The man with the metal arm seemed to know what the question would be about, “What about Hydra Sam?”
“Did they- like, make you do other things besides killing?” The words were heavy as the atmosphere turned tense.
Bucky’s jaw clenched, his right arm fixing his hair, “Why the sudden interest?”
Sam looked away in the distance, taking in the park square, “I saw a boy who looked like you.”
The ex-Winter Soldier paused, “That can mean anything, people have like 10 doppelgangers in their life.”
“I don't know Buck, that kid is like the spitting image of you. The only thing that was different was his eyes, they were e/c.”
Bucky's mind flashed his with an image of e/c eyes, red from crying. “So what, you think one of the orders I had when I was the winter soldier resulted in a hydra spawn.”
“I don't know about hydra spawn, the women looked sweet. But you know what they say, looks can be deceiving.”
“None of them would want- they were all power hungry women with no compassion for kids. Plus I was a lowly soldat, they probably wouldn't have kept the kid.” Bucky avoided eye contact, only moving his food around, hunger disappeared.
Sam nodded, the solemn mood growing too heavy for each other's comfort. Sometimes, often, the universe liked to prove that it was full of humor. “Jamie! Come back here!” There you were, holding an ice cream cone.
A young boy came cycling towards his mother, lo and behold to Bucky, there was the boy who was the spitting image of him. Sam’s eyes widened, he quietly whispered, “That’s her! That's the kid!” Bucky just stared, the boy was his twin; except, just like Sam had said, his eyes were e/c.
He started to gain a migraine. He stared and stared until they were passing them by. He heard a laugh drop from your lips, “Jamie come one, quit being silly and eat your ice cream. This is the only place that sells pancakes and syrup.” The two men turned to one another, upon hearing the child's name and favorite flavor. Bucky was a sucker for pancakes.
The child nodded to you, putting the training bike next to the bench. He sat finally, politely asking for his ice cream. You smiled at the boy, sitting next to him. Breathing in a deep breath of air, you felt eyes on your figure. Looking up, there were ocean blue eyes of the man with the metal arm. The two of you made eye contact, and suddenly you were back in hydra’s base; being dragged to your daily session with soldat.
Bucky internally flinched, the look of terror was evident on your face, he was no stranger to that look. Whilst it never crossed Sam’s name before, it dawned on him the roles could also be reversed. Before he could stop his friend, Bucky was out of the chair heading towards the mother and son. Sam narrowly missed Bucky. Your breath was caught in your throat, here was the father of your child; The Winter Soldier. “Soldat.” It was a whisper that Bucky caught, it heartbreakingly confirmed his suspicions.
The little boy took his attention away from his ice cream, seeing the man all clad in black and another in simple outing attire; plaid button up and jeans. The boy stared at the dark skin man before recognition set, “You’re the Falcon! That means you’re the Winter Soldier!” The boy jumped up off the bench, forgetting he had ice cream. Splat. It laid on the floor, as the child stared at flatten ice cream, tears welling up. He gasped through his sobs, “Mommy..m-my… ice… cream…”
Before you could react, Bucky lowered his height to match the 4 year old, “Hey it’s okay, I’ll get you a new one. It’s our fault for distracting you.”
The boy calmed down, his sobbing turned into sniffles, his face turning less blotchy red, “Promise?”
He held out a pinky, which Bucky held out his own, “Promise.” The little pouty lip turned into a toothy white smile. You watched the scene, this man didn’t seem like the Winter Soldier. Sam watched your reaction, you were more calm.
Sam made his way towards you, “If you want I can take your son to the ice cream shop, while you talk to Bucky.”
E/c eyes snapped to brown, “Bucky? I thought his name was James.”
“He likes to use his nickname.”
Hesitantly nodding, she stared at the man a bit more, “You’re the hero that rescued him?”
He held out his hand, “Sam Wilson, or as your son called me, The Falcon.”
She shakily took his hand, “Y/n L/n. Okay, well um-his flavor was blueberry pancake.”
Sam nodded, giving a little smile: in the back of his mind, that name rang a bell. “Okay so the little man likes that pancake flavor.” Jamie’s eyes snapped to Sam, excitingly nodding his head. Sam gave a laugh, “Alright, come on, I’ll buy you a new one.” The boy jumped for joy, taking Sam's hand and giving his mom a gummy smile.
Bucky sat down in the empty seat next to you. Muscles flinched as he did, your eyes trained on the shoes of people walking by. The man clenched his jaw before he spoke, “I’m sorry.” You didn't speak, so he continued, “I… I don’t remember even that happened in the base, with the torture, cryogenesis and… brain wash. I remembered everyone I killed but being in that basement is… fuzzy to me. I’m sorry for what I did and I am sorry for not remembering all of it. Most of the memories I have are only your eyes crying.”
You slowly faced him, as he was already seeking you, “I forgive you,” his mouth dropped as his eyes widened, “You spoke as someone who was under control, always about the ‘mission to procreate,’ I… I got help, therapy; 2 times a week. Even though my therapist said I didn’t have to forgive you, I wanted to. You were trapped there, just like me. Plus, I’ve always been a crier, so most remember me that way.” You gave an awkward laugh, uncomfortable with the past being brought to light. ‘I liked it,’ Bucky clenched his jaw again as the thought from his deep subconscious awoke. He opened and closed his mouth, like a goldfish, searching for the words to continue. You beat him to the punch though, “He’s yours, Jamie. He’s going to turn six soon.”
“Six?” ‘The boy should be older.’
“Yeah, when the blip happened…he uh… he was gone. He should be 10… but I’m just glad he’s back,” there was a sting behind your eyes, you rapidly blinked it away.
“I’m sorry.” It was the only thing Bucky could say at this point.
“He’s named after you.”
“How… did you find out my name? And how did you get out?”
You sniffled, “Vlad, the soldier assigned to me, let me go. His daughter… he said I reminded him of her. He also kept the other men away from me; Soldat’s Property. When he let me go, we passed a grave, it was filled with another person. I thought I was going to be killed. No more Soldat, no more Sodalt’s kin needed,” you inhaled thinking back to the time Vlad dragged you through the forest, “But he let me go, said you were an assassin and you were nowhere to be found. They panicked, not sending another person with Vlad to make sure the job was done, or maybe… the person in the grave was the second person. He told me your name was James, hence Jamie.”
Even though Bucky didn’t care for his name, he was touched. “Thank you,” it was small and almost unheard.
“You know, you weren’t a monstrous assassin in the room. I’m not sure if maybe you were given an order to be… hmm gentle, but you were. You call me cимпатичный every time...”
He nodded, he here was being comforted by his own victim, “Still, what I did to you, it's unforgivable.” His foot started to bounce, anger at himself was flooding his veins.
You shrugged, “It’s my choice, and I chose to forgive you.” You were hesitant to ask, but did so anyway, “What does it mean, cимпатичный?”
‘How could she forgive me! I’m a monster! She shouldn’t even be letting me near her or the kid!’ His thoughts were in a whirlwind, and the target was himself. You could see the internal struggle, this man was easier to read than his counterpart, “Sol-,” you cleared your throat, "Bucky?”
He looked at you, fully taking you. You were there, sitting with big eyes staring at him. Your h/l sat naturally, you s/t was glowing, as the sun hit your face he could see why he the Winter Soldier said that word. “He called you pretty.”
You sat a little straighter, mind reeling from knowing now that was his nickname and what it meant, “Oh, okay. Thank you.” You didn’t realize what you said, just reminiscing of every time the Soldat would call you that when he would finish inside you.
Bucky stared at her, brows furrowed and oblivious to where your mind was wandering, “Don’t express gratitude, what I- how cou- why? Why forgive me?” His tone was hard, a different remembrance was stirring inside you.
You were snapped back to the moment, head shaking, “I told you already. You were brai-.”
“No! You can’t just forgive so easily,” shock and anger were held in his soul.
“Please.” It was a hushed whisper as you clench the metal bench, stopping yourself from crying. The Soldat would never yell at you, but the tone of anger was similar.
Bucky turned upon hearing you, his anger evaporated as quickly as it came, “I-I… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” he cut himself off, hands tugging down on his face.
You never wanted to admit it, “I fell in love with you, with the soldat.” You avoided the man's face, embarrassed to have revealed the secret you kept hidden for so long, “Like I said, you weren’t horrible in the cell. We were fucking almost every night,” a hollow chuckle left your lips, “You would hold me, like you needed my contact to breathe. And… you started to smile, you would take off the mask and do this little smirk or smile when we were done. You become less rigid, a little more human when we were together,” a sigh left your lips before you continued, “I don’t know, it was probably some form of Stockholm syndrome, but that doesn’t make what I felt any less real.”
His jaw hurt from clenching, “Do you miss him?”
Your eyes were the familiar red, holding back tears, “Insanely…yeah I do.”
He softened his demeanor, “I’m sorry.”
“You don't have to keep apologizing, I’ve already forgiven you.”
“I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop,” he hung his head, so many emotions clouded his person; shame, guilt, self-loathing. ‘Симпатичный.’ It was a whisper in his head, but Bucky was too late.
You glanced at the man, his stare turning blank. You leaned further back, the similarities he was presenting was the Soldat. As his eyes became glossy, he became emotionless. Your eyes widened: whilst you were true in your word about love, the fear of what he was always took up the back of your mind. You glance around the park, no sight of Jamie or Sam, ‘He must be watching him as he eats the ice cream.’ You hoped this was true. The gaze of the hollow man finally turned to you, “Симпатичный.”
You sucked in a breath, “Soldat?”
“Да.” He was here, staring at you.
A pit grew in your stomach, “Can… can I please talk to Bucky again?”
His gaze hardened, with his jaw clenched he spoke, “No,” it was anger filled.
‘It’s okay, just relax.’ You had to make it okay. Drawing in a breath to slowly release it, “Okay soldat. Did you want to keep talking here or did you want to go to yours?” You prayed it was the latter, not wanting to cause whatever the Winter Soldier could release.
The Soldat paused, relishing in being able to make a choice, “Mine.” He looked at you, emotionless eyes have a hint of humanity now.
The direct eye contact made your body flush, “Okay let me drop Jamie off at his play date and then we’ll go to yours.”
He shook his head, “No, kin stays with us.” He wanted the little boy to be with both his parents now.
You drew in another breath, calming your nerves. You leaned in, and he let you, gently touching his lower jaw. Your tone turned softer for him, always softer for the Soldat, “After okay, we can watch movies together or go for a walk, whatever you want but he has to go so we can talk Soldat.”
He glowered, teeth clenching his mouth shut. His nod was curt, barely visible to the untrained eye; but to you, it was evident. You slowly pulled back, when a long forgotten cold touch grabbed your hand, “Jamie?”
You nodded, a small smile forming on your lips, “Yeah Jamie.” He gave a nod of approval before letting you go, “Okay, I will be back in 10 minutes okay. Can you wait here?” Another stoic nod was given before you hesitantly turned away from the assassin.
You saw Sam and Jamie on the bench right outside the shop, the man gave you a smile unaware of the current situation unfolding. He stood up, lowering his voice so the child wouldn’t hear him, “I thought it would be best to let him eat it here, in case y’all weren’t done talking.”
You licked your lips, mind still really in from what was happening. “Sam?”
His smile slowly started to falter, fear was visible on you, “Yeah?”
You turned to Jamie, happily oblivious to the turn of events unfolding, you grabbed your cell phone - 1 inbox notification.
‘Hey almost there, walking to the ice cream shop :P’ It was sent 3 minutes ago, ‘Okay she should be here right now then.
“What’s going on?” Sam wasn’t liking how the atmosphere was feeling, his shoulders hunched and the smile was replaced by a frown.
Before you could speak, your sister was there, “Y/n!”
You whipped around the voice, giving a small tight smile, “Jamie come on, your aunt is here.” With the last bite of the cone shoved in his mouth, Jamie hopped off the bench running full speed with his little legs.
Your sister crouched down, meeting the child for a hug, “Jamie, aw I’ve missed you buddy. Are you ready to hang out with your favorite auntie?”
You walked forward, giving your family hugs, and waving them off. You watched them walk away, as you turned back to Sam, the Winter Soldier stood behind him. With your eyes wide and breath hitch, Sam turned around, not noticing the different demeanor yet. “Buck, my man. How did it-,” as Same went forward to talk to his friend, the brainwashed soldier flashed forward gripping his throat.
Sam coughed out, “Shit.” The realization that this man was no longer his friend. People started to stare, and you started to shake; anxiety was clawing at your throat.
“Soldat, please. Let your friend go.” You approached the man, gently holding his right arm. He gripped your hand, it was firm.
“This man is not my friend.” His grip loosened regardless.
“He’s Bucky’s friend, by an extension of yours. Please, let’s go to yours to talk, remember? That’s what you picked?” You prayed he would listen.
He let Sam go, you knew better than to rush and help Sam; it might upset the Soldier. The man was on the floor gasping for breath, the Soldier looked at you nodding his head to the direction, “Come.”
You gave Sam a small sad smile, mouthing ‘Safe,’ to him. With that the Winter Soldat gripped your hand with his metal one, taking you through the sea of people.
Sam hit the floor, “Fuck!” He stood up, running to his car, Joaquin's number already on dial.
The Soldat’s grip was firm but soft, he led you through the city, weaving in and out of alleyways. You were pretty sure that he added extra courses to throw you off. He pushed through a double door, you weren't able to read the name of the complex. You were indeed winded after 4 flights of stairs, the Winter Soldier seemed fine of course. He looked at your hand as he grabbed the keys, “I’m not going anywhere.” It was reassurance he needed, another slight nod before he let you go. The keys turned and a low click, and the door opened. There was another sound, bells jingling. A soft white tuft of fur was seen behind the arch, Soldat waited for you to enter first, which you complied.
The cat peaked its head out, a little meow hitting your ears. The cat lazily stretched forward, before going to inspect you. You knelt for Alpine so he could sniff, sniff, and sniff again; he patiently sat, waiting for a pet. You giggled at the small animal, the fur was soft and vibrations started to emit from it. A gruff voice was broke through your concentration of pets, “Кошка. Alpine.”
“You’re a very cute kitty,” you gave a last pet before the cat made its way to the Soldat. It purred as it rubbed itself against him. You saw the hesitation in the man’s eyes, “Give him a soft pet if you want.” He tentatively reached out, favoring his right arm this time, and he would agree the lush fur was soft and silky. Satisfied, the cat walked away into the hallway before lying down on the rug, ready to take a nap.
He stood next to you, a metal arm extended for you to take. You did so, dusting yourself off. The Soldat stared at you, you didn’t seem to age; not that he knew anything about you, only physical. He led you again down the hall, to his room; wooden floor, one seat, and a bed on the floor. The layout had you thinking of the base, just nice furniture and place. He stopped in front of the bed, “Сидеть.”
He followed his own instructions, he tugged at you gently, “I still can’t understand Russian Soldat.”
“Сидеть; it means sit, Зайчик.”
You nodded, now confused at the other word said. You shifted, and the bed creaked: memories creeped their way into your mind, your body burning as a result. You avoided the Soldiers gaze, knowing the flush of your skin was very much prominent. Soldat smirked, knowing what was being conjured in your head. “Y/n.” Your eyes widened, he never said your name before. You gave a nod as he looked to see if you heard him, “I… I have… missed you,” the words felt foreign on his tongue.
“I’ve missed you too, Soldat… But, why did you return Soldat?”
“Are you not happy to have me?”
Your eyes soften at the man, “Of course I am happy, but from my understanding Bucky has you…” you bit your lip trying to find the right word, “... has you… restrained.”
The Soldat smirked, “He is only in control because I let him.” Your face betrayed your thoughts, and he seemed to notice, raising an eyebrow he spoke again, “I saw you. I will be honest, I do not care what Bucky does most of the time but he was upsetting you.”
“So you came out to - in a way- stop yourself ?”
“I want to be with you, Y/n. Bucky was ruining my chance to see you more.”
You looked away, as the butterflies fluttered in your stomach, “You have grown a lot Soldat. But, this is also Bucky’s life. While we have a child together, I do not think he wants to be with me. And I have to respect that, it’s his choice.”
“What about my choice?” He gave a low growl, teeth clenched at what was said.
“You were in charge… no… what I mean is; while you had to take orders because you were brainwashed and had to survive, during that time - it was you in control. Bucky was trapped in his own mind for years Soldat, it’s only right he has his… time to be in control.”
“I don’t care.” You pressed your mouth into a thin line, of course Soldat would be hard-headed. “Call me James.”
Your brows knitted together at the name change, “Okay… James.” You leaned forward, and he followed your actions, “I need you to let me talk to Bucky please.”
“No.”
“So-,” you cleared your throat, “James please. I need to speak to Bucky.”
“No.”
“Please, I am begging you.”
He smirked, “How about you beg a different way?”
The man in front of you was very different as well, compared to the man you knew. You felt the heat slowly burn through you, “You speak a lot more now.”
The smug look was still on his face, “So do you. As I remember you moaned a lot more.”
With his guard let down, Buck was able to take back control. With a smug turning into wide eye fear, he jolted back. His breath was heavy, eyes frantically taking in his surroundings, “How did you awaken him?”
“I didn’t awaken him, I…not-I, I wouldn't know how to.”
Fear turn to anger quickly, now a familiar feeling cold metal touch ripped your throat, “How the fuck did you awaken him!”
You gasped for a breath, but to no avail. Black dots slowly clouded your vision, gasping one last sentence, “Soldat… or.. Buc-Bucky.”
The metal touch was quickly rescinded as fast as it came, he stood there horrified at what he had done. “Fuck! I-I cou-didn’t mean too.” You hunched over, breathing as much air as you could.
Bucky shot up, and moved himself to the other side, “I’m sorry. I-I… I just don't understand how he came out.”
You gasped again, the oxygen supplying your brain, “He said you were fucking up talking to me.” A couple of coughs slipped past your lips, as your throat tickled still.
He paused, “What?”
“He said he wanted to see me more, and you scared me away. He had to stop it.”
A stupid look made its way to his face, “So, the assassin who is my brainwash counterpart, high-jacked my body to do damage control? Is that what you're saying?”
You rubbed your throat, rolling your eyes at the man, “Yes, basically. Could you not ask James this yourself?”
“James?” His eyebrows continued to knit together.
“That's what he wanted me to call you.”
He was at a loss for words, the Winter Soldier was… gaining humanity. This wasn't supposed to be the future, the Soldier was supposed to be buried and gone. It dawned on him, “He loves you. In his own twisted way, the Winter Soldier actually cares about you.” Fear coursed through him, “You activate him.” It was whispered to himself but you heard it.
Your voice turned soft, “I think he just wants me around.”
Bucky started to breathe heavily, as if the oxygen was being withheld. He gripped the counter top, fighting to breathe. You made your way to him, touch and voice still soft, “Hey. Hey, it's okay. Focus on my voice, or focus on my hand. Can you feel it?”
He gasped again, but nodded. “That's it, you can breathe. One deep breath in: one, two, three. Hold; one, two, three. Exhale; one, two, three.” He started to follow along, till he vision wasn't blurry, till his breath was deep and strong. You rubbed small circles on his back, “It's okay, you're here.”
Bucky gave one loud inhale, he eyed you, “Did you do this a lot for him? Comfort him?” There was no malice, just curiosity.
You gave a shrug, “Not really, he comforted me more than I did him. Not with words, more with actions.”
“What did he do?”
“He held me a lot. After um… what was needed. He would hold me til I fell asleep. Sometimes I would feel the metal arm slowly graze my back or massage my head. When I would cry, which was a lot, he would wipe my tears and kiss me to distract me.”
Bucky nodded, he continued to melt into her touch, his body no stranger to it. They stayed like this, in each other's space, relishing in one another's presence. The comfort the two of you gave each other, it put Bucky’s mind at ease. Slowly, memories of the past were in a way granted access to Bucky.
There's gonna be a part 3

2014- Hydra Base
The girl drew in a labored breath, her hands were trembling; fear was coursing through her. Your hand found the ground, the cool and damp floor brought you back to reality. You were trapped, in this cold destitute room. There was a single, beaten up, stained mattress in the corner, your stomach coiled at the thought of what that was for. Sitting there, only God knew for how long, waiting, watching for any signs of life through the metal; it seemed to stare and mock you. Freedom on the other side, a steel frame only 4 inches thick was blocking the pathway. Prove of life was found as footsteps passed your door, holding in a breath, afraid it would alert someone.
Trying to find some comfort, you shifted. In doing so, pain erupted, you silently whimpered. The stinging behind your eyes was abrupt, blood from chapped lips was drawn; holding in the sounds of pain for only yourself to hear. With no light, there was no opportunity to assess yourself. It had to be a bruise, a massive one at that; from your rib cage to glute, pain pulsated. ‘I’m okay. It’s okay,’ you repeated this mantra, trying to convince yourself that whatever this situation held in storage, you were going to be fine.
Clenching your eyes tight, you tried to remember how you ended up in this room. A light ‘thud’ was heard, a soft pain was felt as your head dropped backwards into the wall. There was nothing, no recollection of how you ended here.
The sound of heavy boots hitting the floor were in the distance, creeping closer and closer to the door. Keys jingled, and terror spread through your veins, drawing in a breath, you closed yourself in. Making yourself as small as possible when the door opened, you flinched at the light that made it through the barricade. A scoff made its way to your ears, it belonged to a man, “Глупый.” You flinched at the foreign language, it sounded Russian. “Вверх,” you flinched again, body trembling. The man in uniform rolled his eyes, he grabbed your arm causing a gasp from the pain. “Up!” Wide eyes, and tear streaks stared up at the man, you nodded your head with a quick pace. Unable to speak, words caught in your throat, you hastily got up. Hand still gripped on the forearm, he dragged you though what was considered your safe haven now, “Follow.”
The hallway was dimly lit, made of concrete and the walls were cracked. You stumbled over your feet, as the soldier picked up his pace. What felt like a mile walk, of being continuously dragged, the pair finally stopped. The man reached with his free hand for the keys, before opening the door, the man turned his gaze to you, “Do not fight.” With your eyebrows furrowed, the man opened the door and threw you in.
Stumbling, you were confused on why there was a transfer to a new room. You examined her surroundings, the room was the same, except this bed; it was almost identical with one exception, this one had blood. You stiffened at the sight, with your eyes trained on the stain, there was no notice of the figure emerging from behind you.
“Полоска.” Turning quickly, you tripped over your own feet. Landing on the floor, in pain, you turned to the man who spoke. His hair reached his chin, his mouth was covered with a mask, and his eyes had black dust around them, masking his features. The hair on the back of your neck stood up, his eyes were cold and distant. There was no humanity in them. “Полоска,” he repeated the word a second time.
Mouth agape, you ever so slightly shook your head, “I… I do-don’t,” before you could finish the sentence, he bent down and hauled her to your feet.
“Strip,” there was a heavy accent, Russian maybe.
Eyes filled with terror, you uttered a small, “What?”
His eyes narrowed, “I said strip.” The tone was hard, and as you were going to protest, the soldiers' words echoed in your head, ‘Do not fight.’
Your bottom lip quivered from holding in the sob, eyes were stinging again; with trembling hands you undressed. The man watched you, not moving, not saying a word, simply just watching. You stood there in a bralette and underwear, shielding your exposed body - horribly. “All of it,” e/c eyes snapped to blue.
“Why?” It was small and weak but the soldier heard you still.
“The mission is to procreate,” the words were so monotonous and uncaring, it grew a pit in your stomach. You went to speak, but the man cut you off, “Finish, or we will get another woman. "The threat loomed in the air, you weren’t dense; ‘Finish undressing, or we will kill and replace you.’
You nodded, the tears finally falling. He looked at you and then the bed, understanding, you laid on your back. Ignoring the blood stains and keeping in the full blown out sobs, you waited. The mattress shifted under the new weight, the warmth of the man made you drop a few more tears. A hand slithered from your knee to the inside of  the thigh, prying it to the side. A cold and hard touch made its way to the other thigh, a gasp escaped your lips. Eyes searched the man, landing on his left arm; it was made of metal. Your thighs clenched from the cold touch, but you forced yourself not to move, or to comment, the words he said kept you from reacting.
A metallic taste hit your taste buds, as your teeth gnawed at your bottom lip. The man continued, hand making its way high up. Sucking in a breath as he started to touch you, it was robotic. A man on a mission, no soft grazes, no playful touches. The cold metal against your burning flesh resulted in a  flinch. Metal fingers were in and out, you clenched instinctively at the thought of something inside you. He spread his pointer and index finger, opening you more up. The man's stare made its way to your face, as you avoided acknowledging what was happening. Your gaze was trained on the ceiling. He brought his right hand, gently rubbing your clit. Your body squirmed at this new action taking place, he saw as your cheeks become dusted with red. He continued, enthralled at watching you squirm; besides this was part of the objective.
The Winter Soldier continued to watch you, as your breath became ragged. He felt his lower body slowly harden, this time of his own accord. Unable to focus on the ceiling as the man touched you, your eyes found his. Retracting his right hand, it made its way to his zipper. His cock sprang out, hard and throbbing. Glancing down, your eyes widened. “It’s too big!” You clasped a hand over your mouth.
The Winter Soldier simply stared, he put his member at your entrance, "It will.” Shutting your eyes, anxiety clawed its way through you: he pushed the head though. He was met with resistance, her body was wound up and tight. “Relax,” it was gruff, the tightness was painful.
A sob finally broke through your crumbling facade, “I’m trying! I am, I swear I am.” You clamped your mouth shut, afraid crying would agitate him. He narrowed his eyes once more, he brought his hand up, and you turned her head away. Cool metal was felt, he moved your face back to the original place. Your eyes sought his expression, his mask was off. His chiseled chin was clenched, her leaned down and captured you in a kiss. Slowly, the clenched and frigged state you were in, relaxed. He entered slowly, inch by inch settling in wet, slick heat.
A string of saliva connected the two as the Winter Soldier broke apart. His hips were flush against you, he pulled back slightly before thrusting back in. Your breath became ragged, and desire pulled in the bottom of your stomach. He repeated his moves, earning a moan. Curiosity got the better of man, he moved his mouth to your neck as he thrusted in. He sucked on your flesh, and your arms hesitantly gripped his shoulders. Thrust after thrust, licking, sucking after licking and sucking, You let out a moan. Clenching tightly around his girthy cock, made him falter his pace. Opening your eyes, looking at his ocean blue ones, you nervously touched his jaw. With no protest, you gently guided his face toward yours. His pace quickened as you moaned into the kiss. He let out a grunt as he came inside. No urgency was felt so there was no slowing down, he continued to fuck you as he came, pushing his cum further and further in.
Your orgasm snuck up as he continue to fuck you after cumming, you gripped him tightly as the waves continued to pulse throughout the body. Seeking some type of human connection, you held him close. Ragged breath, and chest heaving, the Winter Soldier hardened again. With eyes pleading to stop, you shook your head. “The mission is to procreate.” With that the night continued, orgasm after orgasm, until you were delirious in pleasure and pain, the perfect balance.
Everyday, at what you assumed was the same time, you would visit the Winter Soldier. Whoever gave the mission, also gave the soldier hours to complete each day. You were there for months, not that keeping count was feasible. Some days you would hear, “Winter Soldier is out.” He would be gone for long periods of time, when he would return - he was rougher, less touches, less softness… less humanity in him. The two of you never spoke too many words, just letting actions speak; both forced to the task at hand.
Before the last day you had seen him, he spoke, “Симпатичный,” it was low, as if you were not meant to hear it. E/C looked at him, as your body was sprawled for him to use. He climbed over you, as if he was stalking prey, his eyes never leaving yours. Your eyes fluted down to his lips, before reaching back to his pretty blue eyes. There was a ghost smirk on his lips, it was quickly squashed as the Winter Soldier does not feel. He was fully naked, his body burning against yours, the only relief from the heat was his metal arm; it hovered your breast. The cool metal in contrast to your body heat made you flinch as he gently pinched your nipple. You sucked in an inhale as the hand made its way to the upper part of your jaw. He had gripped the base of your neck, bringing you in closer. The kiss was anything but innocent, the lewd salvia being swapped as your tongues danced around each other would make a whore blush.
He pulled back, breathing hard and wild. You looked down, towards his body, his cock red and bulging, for some reason based on how he kissed you, you decided this would be different. Your voice was soft, always soft when you spoke to him, “Could you sit down?” There was no hard tone, or direct order, just a question with soft intentions. He hovered as you continued, “You don’t have to, but I,” you hesitated to speak, embarrassment now coursing through your veins, “I-I want… to uh… make you feel good, in a different way.”
Another moment of silence passed before he nodded at your request, “You could sit or lay down or do whatever felt comfortable.” The Winter Soldier kept his eyes trained on you, he laid on his forearms to have a view still. You pushed yourself up, landing on your hands and knees, you were shy and slow as you made your way towards his bulky thighs. One hand rested on said thigh, as the other gripped his cock. You slowly started to pump; up and down. He continued to stare, as you left your mouth agape, allowing his member to slide down towards your throat. He hit the back, you gave a sharp inhale through your nose, continuing to let him slide down until you couldn’t handle the size anymore. You pulled up slightly, letting your tongue slide around the head as you hollowed your checks. The Winter Soldier threw his head back, and let out a groan. He’s made sounds before, but knowing you were able to make him feel so good that he had to break contact, lit a fire in your stomach. You bobbed your head, repeating the action again and again. Letting yourself choke on his cock, swirling your tongue down and around, in circles even.
A freezing touch made its way to your scalp, he gave a soft tug - telling you to stop. You did as instructed, your eyes dark with lust. The Winter Soldier reflected that, the heat in his navel intensified as you asked a simple question, “Do you want me to ride you or get on my back again?” He pondered, never having to choose before, he looked at you then his member, motioning with his eyes for you to sit. You nodded, and positioned yourself over his cock, ever so slowly taking him inch by inch. The sweet burning sensation made your legs quiver. You took a deep breath as you finally met his hips with your thighs, he finally laid completely back. His hands resting on your sides, when you moved up he thrusted upwards, not liking the feeling of your warmth around him gone. You moaned as he did so, the slap of skin echoing throughout the room. He pulled your hips down, driving himself deeper in you.
“Симпатичный,” he said the same phrase as you gasped for air, the thrust winded you in a way, never having someone so deep inside you. He let his hips fall and pushed you back down, the Winter Soldier felt in control for the first time in a long time. He used you, in and out, up and down, his cock entering you repeatedly. His metal hand found your clit, the cool metal made you flinch. He rubbed his thumb of the pearl, gentle but fast. His thrust was becoming sloppy, you held yourself up, hands spread out across his chest. You bounced up and down, little “uh, uh, uh’s” falling from your mouth as the Winter Soldier was deep in you. He shifts forward, throwing off your momentum, now he is sitting up your clit up against his upper pelvis area. He leaned further forward, his lips kissing across your chest until he found your nipple. He suckled the perky flesh, beginning to thrust forward, his metal hand guiding you to fuck yourself on his cock still. Thrust after thrust, the Winter Soldier continued, when the warm feeling in your lower stomach made its way to your pelvis, you clenched as you orgasmed. He followed close behind; your tight heat becoming tighter, your moans sounding like symphony, and how your mouth part opened, gasping for breaths, it was too much for him.
You laid on his chest, becoming too weak to continue, too weak to even hold yourself up. You continued to clench around him, your body slightly convulsing from the pleasure still. With heavy eyelids, tiredness seeped through the body, your breathing started to even out and your body let itself rest. The Winter Soldier gently laid you on the bed, simply staring at your beauty. A h/c strain of hair laid effortlessly across your cheek, he stared at your lips; full, plump and raw. He slowly dressed, his black leather suit clad against his body, a knock on the metal door was heard; a sign his time was done.
Vlad stood there, posted in position next to the door. He kept his eyes trained on the floor. The Winter Soldier halted his footsteps, his gruff voice breaking through the silence, “держи ее в безопасности,” the man froze. The soldat never looked at anyone, he ignored all the other soldiers unless it was a superior officer, and Vlad was not that. He turned to Vlad, eyes piercing his soul. Vlad found himself nodding, in awe and terror; the Winter Soldier spoke to him, the Winter Soldier also trusted this girl to him.
Long h/c hair had the wind flow through it, the feeling of the sun’s warmth cascaded down your face to the body. The soldier that was assigned to you since the beginning, turned around and started to walk away. “Why?” He halted his steps, the question plagued you, and him.
Facing you, his gaze turned ever so soft, “Your name, it was my daughters.” His accent was thick but the words pierced your heart. “What happened to the soldat? Who was he?”
His eyes made their way to your stomach, then met your e/c eyes again, “An experiment. All I know is his name was James, and he was around for a while as a top assassin.”
“Thank you.” He gave a nod, and went on his way. Patting your outfit down, a map was found with the nearest town circled, and some money. Your mind wandered to the Winter Soldier, you hadn’t seen him in a while. With no return and the base scrambling, you figured he must’ve not made it out the mission he was assigned. Glancing down, the swell of your stomach made you  nauseous. There was success in the task that was supposed to add an extra nine months to your life; now freedom was in your grasp, and so was life.
