I     always     wanted     my     first     relationship     to     be     this     HUGE     spectacle.     I     like     being     the     center     of     attention,     obvi.     I     mean,     naturally,     it     only     made     sense     for     me     and     Ben     to     end     up     together.     princes     and     princesses     just     belong     together,     you     know?     I     wanted     to     feel     loved     and     I     wanted     everyone     to     know     I     was     in     love     because     there’s     no     better     feeling     in     the     world     than     love.     not     getting     new     shoes.     not     chocolate.     nothing.     

I     mean,     I     always     thought     a     huge     musical     number     would     everyone     dancing     and     singing     and     watching     would     be     the     way     my     love     story     began,     not     the     way     it     ended.     I     mean,     how     stupid     of     me     to     think     that     ben     and     I     were     leading     some     kind     of     cool     cheer     together     for     the     whole     school.     GIVE     ME     AN     “A”.     GIVE     ME     A     “U”.     GIVE     ME     A     “D”.     GIVE     ME     A     “S”.     WHAT     DOES     THAT     SPELL?     Big     fat     giant     loser.     

For     a     while,     it     didn’t     click     that     I     had     been     dumped.     I     mean,     there     was     no     dramatic     shouting     in     the     rain,     no     heart     aching     goodbyes,     it     was     just     .     .     .     over,     I     guess?     For     a     while,     I     think     the     reason     why     I     couldn’t     get     over     Ben     was     that     I     never     got     a     proper     ending.     The     end     of     our     story     just     blended     into     the     beginning     of     his     and     Mal’s.     I     was     in     this     weird     limbo     of     “Is     it     really     over?     Is     this     a     joke?     Is     he     just     making     a     mistake?���     and     then     eventually     that     turned     into     a     never-ending     chorus     of,     “     What     did     I     do     wrong?     What     did     I     do     wrong?     What     did     I     do     wrong?     ”     It     was     like,     well     Ben     never     said     goodbye,     right?     So     maybe     that     was     a     secret     message     between     us.     Maybe     it     was     his     way     of     telling     me     to     wait     for     him,     to     not     give     up.     But     if     I     held     my     breath     any     longer     I     would’ve     died.     Sometimes     I     wish     I     did.     Anything     to     not     wake     up     and     feel     that     horrible     ache     in     my     chest,     or     see     him     with     Mal.     Anything     to     not     spend     another     day     in     bed     crying.     

So,     obviously,     even     though     I     went     to     bed     every     night     feeling     awful     and     woke     up     feeling     the     same     way,     even     though     I     felt     like     I     was     living     in     this     weird     dystopian     world     without     Ben,     I     pretended     that     everything     was     peachy     keen.     I     couldn’t     be     some     broken-hearted     girl,     wearing     sweatpants     to     school,     walking     around     in     a     haze,     crying     in     the     halls     and     downing     tubs     of     ice     cream     as     soon     as     I     was     alone     (     Okay     so,     maybe     I     did     the     last     one,     but     I’ll     never     tell.     If     you     go     back     a     few     pages,     you’ll     probably     see     a     chocolate     chunk     stain,     I     so     don’t     want     to     talk     about     it.     Don’t     ask.     )

So,     yeah.     Even     though     we     won,     worst     tourney     game     of     my     life.     I     dreaded     going     to     games     after     that.     Even     just     seeing     my     cheer     uniform     made     me     feel     sick.     But     I     couldn’t     hide     from     the     world,     even     as     much     as     I     wanted     to.     That’s     never     been     an     option     for     me.     Everyone     gets     to     see     all     my     scars     as     they     happen     in     real-time     I     guess,     I     just     have     to     march     on.     But     hey,     I     did     say     I     liked     being     the     center     of     attention,     didn’t     I?     How’s     that     for     a     spectacle?

ABOUT ME

ok, so. the basics: sam, 24, est, they/them. i’m french-canadian, so english isn’t my first language, and though i’ve been somewhat fluent at it for eight or so years, i find roleplaying a useful way to keep it strong. i’m forever changing universities and programs, and am now finally starting to study history, aka my favourite school subject of all time. roleplaying wise, i can either reply at the speed of light, or take a while, but i’ll always keep in touch and keep you up to date. plus, i’ll send headcanons and pics that remind me of our characters QUITE often. also, please don’t be put off by the number of characters in my muses tab; only 6 (maybe 7) of them are active at the moment!
