- doesn’t exactly search for a relationship, believes that when he decides he’s ready for one the right person will find him

- gets dragged into world circuit outings by either super macho man or aran ryan. on the rare occasion it’ll be soda. one time they all went bowling and sandman watched aran ryan throw a bowling ball like a fucking baseball and it broke the ceiling

- knows how to make a MEAN philly cheese steak. will be mentally freak out (positively) if someone mentions they’ve never had one before. if he wasn’t so stoic he would be jumping up and down and going “YAAAAAYYYYY🎉🎉🎉” becuz he finally gets an excuse to make one for someone

origin:

isaiah joseph banks, known as his boxing alias mr. sandman, was born on april 12th to victoria banks and george banks in the Doylestown Hospital. born to loving parents, isaiah grew up as an only child.

isaiah learned to keep to himself and care for himself very early on, as both of his parents were usually at work. they worked hard to provide for isaiah and themselves, but always put their son first. they

the time they spent at work would be made up at home, albeit this time could never be fully made up for a young isaiah. he had spent more time with babysitters and nannies than his own parents. of course, isaiah knew his parents loved him, but all the bonds that were supposed to be formed hadn’t; the time frame had passed.

the time they did spend together was… memorable, really. not in a bad way, but every moment— every waking minute— made isaiah into the man he is today.

every night, when his mother was home early enough, she would sing him a soft lullaby. when she wasn’t, his mother had recorded this lullaby onto a tape for him to listen to. this lullaby was the song that made mr. sandman: Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes. it wasn’t a typical children’s lullaby by any means, but by god he loves that song— present tense intended.

then, a problem arose: school. starting middle school is one thing, but isaiah found out how cruel children could be.

isaiah was big, to put it lightly. five foot six at age 12 was enough ground for bullying, and being dropped off by a few different babysitters/nannies in the morning only added to the ammunition.

with how big he was, the bullying never went farther than verbal harassment. soft giggling every time he talked in class, glances from across the classroom, the bullying was subtle except for the occasional direct blow to isaiah.

his boxing interest began when he was thirteen, where his parents enrolled him in a self defense class that revolved around boxing and the sort. they had found out about the bullying from the babysitters, as isaiah had been reporting what they had been saying to him. there, young isaiah learned the basics of boxing: dodging, punching, and jabs had been added to his arsenal.

isaiah had always relished in the safety of knowing that he’d never get attacked at school, but unfortunately this was false.

it was brutal really; the poor boy had been caught in the bathroom and was attacked from behind, slammed his face into the sink, and assaulted from there. it took around two minutes for teachers to hear the commotion, but they were two minutes too late.

there, isaiah was brought to the hospital. no one truly knows the full extent of his injuries, minus his parents. if you look closely at mr. sandman, his top teeth are a little crooked.

nothing exactly eventful happened other than he moved schools, and everything was smooth from there.

his boxing career began to take off when he was 17, when he met an old babysitter of his— one who had taken care of him up until he was 13. he had become a boxing coach and offered to take isaiah up as a student.

if you ever ask mr. sandman in an interview about his boxing idol, he’d most likely say his coach. that man taught him nearly everything he knows, and even taught him the dreamland express move that mr. sandman is most known for, albeit modified.

mr. sandman picked up his alias when his coach told him about the WVBA and their boxers. it was almost inevitable he’d choose mr. sandman in honor of his mother.

he had his first fight at age 18, where it went swimmingly well. records of this fight have been lost to time, but, according to word of mouth, mr. sandman nearly killed the poor man.

tbh, I don't think we should use 90% of the "proofs" we use to tinhat. I've been a hat for over a decade and most of these so called slips can be easily explained away or hats simply read too much into smt. To me, the Italy one is enough. There's no explaining away no matter what you try to do with that story. The other ones are extremely easy to turn into a het explanation or be regarded as a joke or smt else. hello what is up tis been a month since the last update, here we are again, at 11:16 pm, I have school tomorrow, ah. (it’s midnight as I’m editing this!)

So this DtWT update is probably going to be short because I do seriously need to get to bed, so not too much chat tonight. :( Apologies for my absence on this blog for the last while, February has been such a stressful, and yet exhilarating rush of a month. 

Quick recap for y’all tho I’ll go more in depth in my goals update:

- I start my first day at my co-op placement at Hot Topic tomorrow #dreams are coming true

- Went to the west coast two weeks ago with the fam and my life has never been so pure ft. hanging with @shaelinwrites #the air quality tho

- Went to Ottawa this past Thursday + Friday w/ my school, posted the photoset HERE

- Went to see Wallows (previously The Narwhals) yesterday, copped the boys’ signatures (bless @imdisappointed), screamed I’m Full like no other, here’s this pic of Dylan I’ll probs have more for the monthly update:

So like I mentioned above, this chapter has a lot of colour references as well as adjectives like pls help pls, but on top of this, there’s also this weird recurring sentence structure and I’m like ok:

Consciousness enters and escapes me like Lonan’s troubled pulse, skips; abrupt, then fluid. Perennial, it is, like him, mercurial, like me, unsteady. Even when I move from my spot next to him on the bed, to my desk chair overlooking the night, it sprouts through my foggy mind in intervals. Bramble, it is, unwanted, yet thriving.  

Dunno what’s going on there exactly, ha. (strange, it is, Rachel needs to stop)

Dis excerpt has so many clarity issues I don’t even know what I meant but:

The windowsill is cold to the touch. Frosted in white paint, chipped at the edges. The house around me hums, crackles like wood. It is life in structure, but death in standing. A house I can’t call home, not since he died, not since she left, but one that has yet to fall. I’ve cracked the window to keep myself awake, let the cool spring air melt through the filter my father screwed in when I was eight. Perhaps, if this house were Lonan, personified, it would neither stand, nor welcome.

AND YES, the recurring use of perhaps is also a thing in this chapter, I dunno what I’m doing, ha. 

Prime example of the perhaps thing:

Worry for him, for the state his mind fiddles in. The notes it plays, and whether they’re harmonious with his intentions. To him, I’ve cared too quickly. To me, I haven’t cared quickly enough. Perhaps, it’s I who have gone mad.

I like the idea of a fiddling mind tho lol

This one is longer but I have so many longer ones, I feel if I put them all in the month’s writing update I’ll be giving you a textbook so:

Never, never will there be a point in my life where I’ll once forgive myself for the damage I’ve incurred, invisible or not. The hole where the innocence of our friendship was won’t widen, nor will it stitch itself back together until it eventually disappears. Perhaps, he’ll forgive me when the time comes. Perhaps, Foster might too.

Not blue like Lonan, like the river’s disguise. Not gentle like the current’s breeze smearing my cheeks. Not safe. Not loved. Not warm, or diligent, or florid. Missed, and worried for, he is. And yet, there’s still distance there. Derision. The insistent pound of worry combatting the tartness. Foster, who I’ve loved, and hated, and trusted, and suspected. Alone. Without me, without Lonan, without support, a warm voice to tell him we’re coming, we’ll find him. Clueless.

What I like about this, is how it’s supposed to express worry for someone (our boiiii Foster), and we’ve got that going for paragraphs one and two and then she just roasts him in the last line like yessssss this saltttt girl yaaas.

This needs some editing (first sentence reads wordy af to me) but:

Someone’s in the kitchen, playing my mother’s old 80s hits CD—a present burned for her by my father. Not Darren, who’s still outside, fit into the crook between the doorway, and the patio. The steely guitar riff of the song shuffled by the mix resonates from between the mesh speakers of the boombox.

This is the paragraph I loosely edited that launched me into this writing session:

Lonan folds his hands, bruised knuckles protrude. Blue walls indoors, purple for the exterior—perhaps he’s finished in eggshell. Harrison licks his lips, fiddles with his sleeves. Red paint from chin to forehead, a touch of merlot. 

I might share this again in the writing update for the month because it might make more sense with the context of another excerpt which I’m saving for that post, but tbh #where da clarity at doe

His words aren’t meant to hurt as much as they do, and I know that. I know he doesn’t want to sit here, with Lonan and I, silent, waiting for permission to speak like a wistful pre-adolescent. Like he must raise his hand to get in a thought. And that’s not what I mean for him to feel—trapped, and shrinking, but it’s two versus one, and he knows I’ve chosen my team.

She’s a human with mouse genetics mutation (AND SHE HAS A TAIL). Hardworking, determined and can defend herself and more than that bc she’s damn good at dealing with knives and parcoure. Has dark past but never wants to talk about it. Rather prefers thinking of now and making plans for the future. Works in cafe, but will later take over a v big company afer her dad. She can deal with any shit, really but is easily triggered by stupid stunts. Cute as hell at everything she does too. It pisses her off bc she just wants to e sexy lol

Sophia:

A princess, with kickass magic powers, pretty as hell, likes girly stuff and is openly pan yo. Doesn’t like to be the center of attention, but tends to be just that. She’s easy to anger and holds grudges forever but apart from that she’s really ladylike and usually doesn’t show her hostility openly unless she’s alone with someone she downright despises. Not a lady in distress.

But then how about Takumi:

A vampire soon to be Earl, master at Black Magic (sucks at healing and shields) can lit himself and stuff on fire, has wings and is v damn cool. Playful, plays pranks on everyone even though he’s almost 80 years old (lol, what a big child). Fun’s the most importand thing, but he also always makes sure to keep it safe.

hiya!! haha i hardly feel i’m an experienced enough skelebro artist to answer this question, but i’m going to try my best to explain how i go about it!!

first off i wanna start with this: there’s no REAL way to “get it right”. the sprites from the original game leave a bit up to interpretation and give plenty of room for artistic freedom! (and the au bros are fanmade, so that’s like, dOUBLE artistic freedom!) the tricky (yet fun!) part comes with them not *really* being shaped like real skeletons, so ppl have to improvise!

1. references and practice are your best friends!!!! (my first drawings of sans and paps look NOTHING like they do today since i ended up drawing and practicing with them soso much). i generally like to search “skeleton anatomy” or “skeletal system” in google images for my refs and use something liiiiike: https://smhttp-aww-17174.nexcesscdn.net/media/catalog/product/cache/9/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/A/W/AWW_CH03.JPG

that to help me out! while sans and paps and their au variants are not shaped 100% like a traditional skeleton, you still need a pretty decent understanding of how the skeleton looks so that you can play around with it and adjust it as you see fit when drawing a specific character. i also like to reference other artists!! if i’m stuck and not sure how to go about something, sometimes i’ll look at the way other artists interpreted certain characters and draw inspiration from that! for example, some artists draw orange with downward slanting eyes to make him look more sleepy/lazy/depressed and i liked the way that looked so i adopted that as well! and in regards to papyrus types….

2. pick your papy poison. LOL this title is way more dramatic than it should be and honestly i just wanted the alliteration :P BUT what i mean here is papyrus body types are typically the hardest to draw (at least for me) and part of the reason is THE LITERAL HUNDREDS OF WAYS YOU CAN INTERPRET THAT MOUTH!!! seriously, this has caused me my fair share of anxiety and frustration. SO what i like to do is mix it up. when i said in the beginning that you have artistic freedom to do whatever you wanted, i meant it. you don’t have to keep drawing papy’s mouth consistently at all if u don’t wanna, it all depends on what you’re working on and how u feel (generally tho i keep it consistent within the same work but across separate pieces it’s okay to mix it up). when i’m drawing someone like us paps, i usually like to give him a big ol sansy smile, especially when facing the front. it’s simple and fast, and it doesn’t look bad! you can also give him jaw space or even draw his mouth like papyrus’ in undertale (tho with my style i find that looks odd more often than not)

here’s a pic of two mouth types! (sorry it’s messy and there’s not a lot, I rushed since i have to wake up early tomorrow!)

generally i make us paps’ face pretty dull and rectangular, and the same goes for ut paps! edgy bros like edge and sf papyrus get much more angular and sharpened features, and this can especially be seen in the cheekbones. here’s an older doodle of mine of sf paps from the side

sharp puppy. but yeah! edge bros get pointed chins and jaws and non-edgy boys get softer features. you can do whatever feels best for you though!!

i should wrap this up soon since it’s pretty late but another important thing to consider is:

3. body types. i prefer to draw my sanses a bit on the rounder/chubby and short side and my papyruses on the lanky side. that said, this is where the skeleton references and familiarity become important so you can stretch or compress bones to fit your body type needs without it looking too strange! feel free to add thicker bones onto the sanses if you wanna go for that heavier set look, but keep tabs on your proportions. it helps to draw a rough skeleton (lol) of your pose which includes thickness of the body and placement/length of limbs and posture. if you have trouble drawing chub sometimes like i do, look up some refs! they’ll help out a lot.

what i do sometimes is i’ll draw a humanish body outline, and fill the bones in on the inside! it’s what i did for orange in the kissy requests. he had a fleshed out neck before i erased it so i could see how the positioning of it would work. that’s also my method for hands. kudos to the artists that draw skeletal hands realistically. that is too many bones for me to worry about LOL. what i do is i make a sort of…hand bone?????? i’ll explain. i draw a regular hand and then add lines where the bones would be. pls pretend this isn’t the worst hand you’ve ever seen

so it’s not really how bones work, but it’s simple and it’s what i’m accustomed to. (hint: fingerless gloves are hot and get rid of a lot of your problems with this ;) )

i’m gonna have to end this here but overall, HAVE FUN WITH IT DUDE!!! these characters are hella fun and full of personality! they’re a joy to draw and the less you worry about getting it perfect and just going at it and practicing, the better you’ll become! a good tip for this is doodling! non serious doodling where you don’t feel pressure to make something come out right and can make a ton of mistakes helps you to gain a kind of muscle memory and better perception of how things should look and feel when you draw them. it’s so important to let yourself make mistakes, because you’ll learn from them and get AWESOME at it! good luck to you, my friend, i hope this helped!! <3 <3 <3

☾ — ·˚ » BASIL CRATES is in saint tropez !! they often get mistaken as KIAN LAWLEY. apparently, HE/THEY is/are the JOCULAR of the group. they’re a TWENTY-ONE year old PANSEXUAL DEMIMALE. i hear they’re known as ALTRUISTIC and DOGMATIC. they also make their living as ART STUDENT / BARTENDER / COMIC BOOK ARTIST but you’d have to ask them a bit more.

BACKGROUND + PERSONALITY.

born and raised in berlin, germany until his mother decided to move to the us when basil was twelve.

despite growing up bilingual, he had difficulties adjusting to the new surroundings and rather spent his free time drawing, eventually building up universes without needing any context and instead having the designs speak for themselves.

after finishing high school at age sixteen basil took a gap year to travel through europe with money they earned from several jobs during school times. bas was v very introverted back then, so it served as a challenge which once again they had difficulties with at first. but ofc you can’t get around without trying, so bas did. he’s still more of an ambivalent than an extrovert, but this journey made him see the beauty of uncertainty and they loved it.

also ik i used he & they in that last paragraph instead of just one bc basil honestly truly doesn’t care which one others use as long as they acknowledge bas isn’t cis bc he’s v open about his gender along with being pan .. but that’s another thing.

basil has a very high iq, but always prevented others from knowing about it. he basically failed tests on purpose back in germany and in the us he always made sure others don’t feel bad about their results and said his were worse even though he probably always got an a+, thus resulting in bas being able to skip two grades.

his mother had to carry two jobs to make a living for the two of them, which was one of the reasons why bas sold his art from a young age. thankfully it was actually decent ( coughs and looks @ ryan reynolds’ twitter ) and ppl actually wanted to pay good money for it. this was also one of the key moments in which bas realized they wanted to have their profession somewhere in the art department.

married his high school sweetheart in las vegas as soon as they both turned eighteen, but divorced just three weeks later. this is just one of their impulsive decisions as bas isn’t much of a planner, they rather have a few good laughs when telling the story ( even for the 10th time ) instead of asking what if. the only thing bas ever truly planned was becoming a comic book artist. they’re still at the very beginning as basil’s v young, but they’re just as determined to make it in the industry.

basil’s mother was always into greek mythology and even gave her child the middle name cerberus, which literally is the most dangerous thing about him and while he’s into mythology himself, he doesn’t really tell anyone his middle name as he’d rather not be compared to a three-headed dog .. but if he ever ends up drunk u can bet he’d insist on being called cerberus and nothing else.

being a comic book artist basil’s an avid comic reader as well, but mostly prefers indie comics as they’re more his kind of humor. speaking of, basil’s more of a morbid humor kind of pal ? but he’ll also immediately apologize if he takes it too far bc he values comfort even more than getting a laugh out of others and himself.

huge fan of dogs, literally the person that points at a dog and says “aw.” and definitely wants to pet them.

the least scorpio-like scorpio you will ever meet, and trust me this is coming from a Real Scorpio™.

ends up in a lot of weird scenarios while just trying their best, but always tries to take it with humor especially if someone’s with them.

most of his friends wouldn’t expect it, but basil’s very romantic, like going all out even for a first date and is probably doing waay too much for his opposite.

not really into the whole sex, drugs n rock ‘n’ roll as he prefers to maybe drink a few beers with his closest friends due to seeing what alcohol can do to people on an almost daily basis as a bartender. however, all of kian’s tattoos are canon for bas except for the native american and butterfly ones.

just as a small disclaimer: if anyone read girls on fire by robin wasserman, saint’s personality is heavily inspired by one of the characters in it aka lacey. and if u haven’t read it .. pls do it if you’re even just remotely into ya literature.

born and raised in los angeles, us, saint was practially thrown into the lives of the rich and famous. her parents were big in hollywood back in the 80s & 90s and gave those legacies to her.

being practially raised by nannies, saint didn’t really have a connection to her parents till they retired when she was fourteen. from there it was basically always good which is .. v weird but they somehow made it work.

as soon as saint turned eighteen she decided to change her last name to her mother’s maiden name, as she’s never been a fan of women having to give up their names just for being married even if it’s voluntary. this also resulted in her imdb page ( she truly made it huh. ) being “divived” into saint bartowski ( also shoutout @ anyone who gets this ref ) and saint deveraux.

at age eighteen saint also let out her true self, at least towards her parents. she admitted to worshipping lucifer just to piss them off and see how they’d react, it was just a game for her. but to be as convincing as possible, she did the most, even though she would’ve already had them just with her words, but saint always wanted to know just how far she could take it.

to the public she’s seen as this socialite turned actress who never did anything wrong, but just due to her parents and herself keeping everything under a neat little rug.

saint’s a very passionate person and loves to be surrounded or admired by people, but at the same time she doesn’t really care about anyone, no matter how many i love yous she’s going to whisper into someone’s ear or no broken promises ever.

as a result of the press putting labels onto her 24/7 she resents them. the only one she’ll ever claim is being in the lgbtq+ com as it’s basically the only thing in her life she truly cares about besides acting and her cats. however saint also makes a lot of fun of men and highly prefers females and nb pals for .. u know what.

she can also be extra af as she literally bought an old vw t1 bus in st. tropez for the short amount of time she’s there and have it look exactly like the one she has back in la with the pride flag sprayed on its roof and every little sticker/detail on its doors, etc.

getting to her job .. she currently stars in a made up netflix show that’s somewhere between veronica mars, twin peaks and 21 jump street ( the movie version ). i actually made a whole filmography for her but i’m too lazy for graphics and i’m not even sure whether i can use real movies/shows so oo. but if u want a list i can tots send it via disc*rd ( btw mine is artcmis#4377 ). and just know that she admires amber heard and mostly chooses roles like her aka not the damsel in distress. tho she would def love to save that kind of character one day .. js.
