This is more of a rant but every time I get to this scene part of me just shrivels ever so slightly. As much as I love this final shot of the beach scene, with the music and Wukong’s reassurance that they can handle whatever is coming, it really makes me feel bad… in a good way!

Like, it just puts me in this unease. Like I’m scared for what’s abt to happen and season 5. Don’t even get me started on Macaque in the centre of the shot being the only one with genuine worry on his face (Red Son’s misery is comical so it’s not as impactful). Any lmk ships you don’t like?

Not counting the basic weird ships that I'm not fond of in LMK like plumsy/peachynoodles uhmm here's my list that I expect to get attacked for so I'm stating my reasons pls don't attack me again

1) dragonfruit - I tried liking it but the first fic i came across with it was r-pe and it...basically, I don't like the ship because that fic ruined it for me and I'm the type of person who judges shit based on stuff like that lmfao...and I'm sorry but Red Son forcing himself on Mei is..😟 n-no

2) chimera - Imma be honest I like to think all three of them are siblings and Red is the oldest tryna murder the youngest so it's not really my style (and I do personally headcanon them as aroace cause I'm aroace and any character I like gets aroace beamed)

3) goldendragon - same thing, I personally like to see them as siblings so I don't interact with content for them. I will say, the ship is very cute tho and I LOVE best friends to lovers, butttt like dragonfruit my introduction to this ship was a gross r-pe/porn fic and it gave me the ick so hard pass

4) shadowpeach - "macaque is so innocent wukong is so evil" and not "okay both have their own sides both are complicated characters" > aka fandom ruined the ship for me

5) idk the ship name but azure and macaque which is..no. I don't like it. Too weird. Or maybe I just wanna wrap my hands around Macaque's throat and [redacted]

Also, fic idea 4 this is that 6EM would b so relieved 2 know that it’s false, he’d b shook ofc & he’d prolly feel guilty bcz of his whole revenge thing, but he’d also b relieved 2 know that SWK didn’t actually kill him. So he doesn’t see this as a problem in the way of their relationship n e more, bcz it didn’t happen. But SWK absolutely thinks this is a ✨Problem✨™️, bcz What The Actual FUCK Macaque??

So, new problem: 6EM has had centuries to cope (cough master being in the river of Egypt cough cough) w/ SWK “killing him”, & SWK has had, like, 3 minutes💀. So ofc 6EM just wants 2 skim past this & continue pretending that everything is Fine™️, but SWK has finally remembered his ✨Enlightenment✨ & desperately wants 2 talk 2 6EM abt this v real issue.

Bcz this isn’t healthy 4 either of them. SWK has been violently made aware that as long as 6EM has a chance 2 have their friendship back he’s willing 2 4get/put up w/ anything. (Which honestly wrecks SWK & makes him wonder how much he’s alr done wrong, what unknown boundaries he’s crossed.) & 6EM is, well, he’s refusing 2 face his issues & shit cause he just wants 2 have SWK back.

If SWK broke down it’d prolly b abt being a failure, that he can’t even prove himself 2 b safe enough 2 talk. 6EM would calm him down, 1 emotional talk l8r & 6EM reveals the real reason he didn’t want 2 talk abt it. If 6EM broke down it’d prolly b abt how there’s no reason 2 b so upset, that it’s not real, ect. SWK would do the same, calm him down, & he’d say that it’s valid 2 b upset & that it doesn’t matter if it was “real” or not bcz it is real to Macaque.

I’m leaning more towards 6EM breaking down abt it bcz I feel like SWK, after everything, would feel comfortable enough talking 2 MK or Sandy. Meanwhile 6EM is only rlly close 2 SWK, MK, & Mei, but he can’t talk abt it w/ SWK, can’t w/ MK (cause y’know), & certainly not Mei (bcz Y’KNOW).

They eventually talk abt it, boundaries get set up, safe words 4 when sums going on they don’t like but aren’t 100% comfy outright saying or don’t wanna explain. (Let’s say it’s pears 4 now, shout out if u know what fic that’s from. If u don’t it’s “Buy One, Get One Free” by MondaysMushroom, pls read it, it’s so good.)

These were mainly made 4 6EM but SWK def uses them 2. (After a talk w/ Sandy abt how him using them would prolly help 6EM open up 2 using them, also bcz it’d help SWK 2 & pls stop being stubborn and let others help u u stupid monkey-)

If u want extra hurt/comfort I’d make the 1st safe word used b abt SWK’s staff. Like SWK just trying 2 show off, MK asks 2 see him & 6EM spar. They do, but SWK pulls out his staff & 6EM panics so badly, & he just blurts out “Pear!”, & once he’s calmed down he’d prolly b v embarrassed over it. Pulling the classical move of “lmao how embarrassing haha, let’s crack a joke and 4get this ever happened”, but SWK has enlightenment (and Sandy) on his side. So eventually 6EM spills that he remembers SWK killing him w/ it (whether or not SWK actually gave 6EM his eye injury or not is up 2 u) & SWK instantly agrees 2 never use it against him again.

The 1st time SWK used it would prolly b 4 sum a lot more nuanced? Like it’s p obv y 6EM wouldn’t want his murder weapon in the general vicinity of his TKO spot💀. But w/ SWK I think it’d b more, like, 6EM w8ing 4 him. I feel like it’d b hard 4 him 2 explain/put in2 words, cause may b he doesn’t even know what’s scratching at his brain every time 6EM says “I’ll w8 4 u, dw” or sum. Eventually it’d get out & 6EM would agree 2 do sum else while w8ing so it feels less like he’s w8ing 4 SWK.

-I have no idea why Guanyin knows everything that happens, I don’t think that she can see all; for me it’s most likely that she is informed by the spirits that guards Tripitaka.

-wukong has 4 generals: ma, ba, beng and liu. (In my opinion they were likely killed by macaque cuz when he took the monkey king throne they are not there anymore)

-sun wukong was kicked out two times from the group;

One time during the LBD arc. (The second during macaque arc but we won’t get there)

-people can be resurrected in many ways apparently

Ok it was short and I’m sure many of u knew this already but I wanted to make sure.

After leaving his monkeys, his generals and macaque with a promise of a soon reunion, sun wukong the monkey king, along side zhu bajie, came back to the pilgrim group to save Tripitaka. Again.

In this particular occasion out of happiness the Chinese monk assured to the monkey king that as an act to show his gratitude for the monkey, he would never recite the migraine spell again. Sun wukong felt a sense of relief that unfortunately didn’t last long…

At the first occasion Tripitaka used the fillet spell again…

It was so painful.

Once again his master trusted more the words of others instead of his.

this was also painful.

He was again used, he was again a weapon, he was once again fighting to save his master and brothers from some demons, a situation that could have been avoided if the monk just had listened to the great sage…

Why didn’t he listen? Why NO ONE ever listen?!

I guess that if you pull too hard a rope, no matter how strong it is, it’s going to snap.

He wanted to leave but couldn’t or Tripitaka would have found a way to get him back.

Sun wukong was able to contact macaque with his astral projection.

The black monkey was so happy to see the king, he had been waiting for him for months and he was sure that his friend didn’t abandoned him…

He couldn’t have abandoned him…

But this happiness was really one sided.

Wukong needed to be “rescued”.

Wukong was on his knees, he felt his head exploding for the migraine spell that Tripitaka was reciting no stop.

The monkey king tried to attack the monk, to finally gain his freedom, maybe something more, maybe he wanted his master to feel the same pain that he constantly felt.

now he couldn’t even move, but he thought of it, macaque emerged from the shadows.

Wukong with one of his many tricks had got away sandy and pigsy; and it was very easy for the shadow monkey to take care of the monk and the white dragon-horse.

It was over…

He was free, wasn’t he?

Wukong cold hear his brothers coming back, he needed an excuse.

A demon attack!

From someone that he couldn’t have expect it!

Someone he knew!

When his brothers arrived wukong accused macaque to have killed their master and he, taken aback, had been unable to do anything to prevent it.

Macaque was confused, shock , so shocked that he couldn’t even make up words, he could just watch wukong and something about him was off…terribly off.

Before macaque knew pigsy and sandy were over him, he tried to escape but was stopped by sun wukong himself, fangs very visible.he was terrifying.

Pigsy and sandy were once again at his tail, macaque saw no other option but to fight, and he did and he killed the two pilgrims.

Eyes on wukong, the king was once more of his knees and he held his head very tightly,exactly as if someone was reciting the fillet spell again, he was agonizing at this point, but no one was telling the spell, macaque would have hear it.

Was sun wukong faking it? It looked pretty real to macaque.

He got close to the sage, still very confused about his betrayal.

why didn’t wukong just got away with him?

Was he afraid that his “brothers” could find them again?

Why did wukong stopped him from escaping?

And why is he agonizing like this now?

But as soon as macaque touched the king shoulder he jumped over him, keeping his staff again macaque throat, with a scary grin on his face,shouting about how macaque killed his master and brothers;

The black monkey didn’t know what to think at this point…

This wasn’t his sun wukong.

The last thing macaque saw was the king staff up on his head.

Now he was free…

Then what was this terrible sensation?

He needed to be punished, his master would have punished him from what he did.

But the only thing wukong could do was to keep moving like if someone was telling the fillet spell, but there was no pain.

There was nothing.

When macaque woke up everything hurt, sun wukong wasn’t there anymore…and he should be either! Wukong killed him! How could he be still alive?

To stop this stream of consciousness was Guanyin and her disciple Moksa.

She had brought him back to life and she was expecting an explanation…

“Would you be my warrior this time?” She gently asked.

Wukong needed to be stop.

in the meantime The monkey king was back on flower fruit mountain where his generals were waiting for him.

Wukong told them everything what they needed to know but in that moment once again the king was keeping his head in his hands, like if was having a strong headache, but once again there was no pain.

The four generals were concerned but incredibly happy to have their king back…

It didn’t last long tho as macaque,along side guanyin,soon arrived on FFM to confront the monkey king.

They exchanged some words, too few for macaque, then wukong was ready to fight but Guanyin started reciting the fillet spell.

This time while wukong was on his knees the pain was there and it was real, this made the monkey king so mad , so mad that yet someone could recite that spell, so mad cuz he wasn’t free yet. All this rage made him stood up and he was moving towards Guanyin with his staff in his hands. He had to get rid of her so he could be free!

Macaque stopped him and the two of them started fighting but even with Guanyin constantly reciting the spell the two monkeys were evenly matched.

They fought for a really long time…

The four generals and the monkeys couldn’t do anything if not watch everything in disbelief.

Wukong had macaque on the defensive and he decided to throw his staff at macaque and ends things there but then macaque grabbed it. He grabbed the monkey king staff!

It was heavy yeah but he could lift it, and so he could use it!

He hit the still shocked monkey king crashing him on the ground and immediately stopping him from moving;

He should have killed sun wukong right there but he…he couldn’t…he couldn’t kill his sun! And he shouted it to Guanyin.

And the goddess just smiled at macaque.

You were practicing in what you thought were isolated woods far from the city and any peering eyes, that was until you had the feeling that you were being watched. You quickly break from your concentration to take a glance around you, it didn’t seem like anything was out of the ordinary. It was probably a bird or something you reasoned before returning to practice, yet the feeling of unease rested in the back of your mind. 

A rustle of leaves and a blur of a shadow made you pay full attention to your surroundings, armed with magic and looking around the woods with a careful eye. You were slowly walking around in a circle, looking for anything or anyone that could be disturbing your practice. A wind blew by your ear before a simple word was spoken.

“Boo,” You screech, whipping around and using your magic in the direction of the noise, a very colorfully dressed Monkey man jumping out of the way and landing right next to you.

“Oooo, so close! Better luck next time, sun flare,” Your brows twitched in slight irritation from the arrogant tone he used.

“Wuknog, you jerk! I could’ve seriously hurt you!” He laughs.

“What? It’s not like you could kill me, sure It’d hurt like, a lot, but I’d live,” You glare at him.

“What are you even doing here anyway?” You wondered as you composed yourself, he grinned.

“I, The Great Sage, decided to help you with your training!” You deadpan, yeah, like it’s going to work out for the 100’th time. A scoff is heard from the shadows.

“Please, you usually cause the most damage during these ‘training sessions,” Wukong glared at Maquace as he emerged from the shadows of the trees. 

“As if you’re any better, Mr. demolish the city in giant shadow form,” You roll your eyes, an argument was about to ensue, and that usually meant a devastating fight between the two, and you really rather not have to replant a forest’s worth of trees. Again.

“Or, here’s an Idea, I practice alone,” You suggested in the kindest way you could, the two of them glance at you, kind of hurt. It’s not because of how destructive they are, it’s because they distract you from just their presence alone, so what if you had a crush on them?

“But what if you’re attacked or something?” Wukong threw out a lame excuse from his ass, Macaque sighed.

“If they want to train alone, then they can,” Wukong looked disheartened, which made you feel bad. You’ve been rejecting their training help for a while just so you could focus… Maybe…

“Or, I reconsidered my logic and would like you BOTH to help me practice?” They perked up immediately, Wukong wrapping an arm around your shoulders. 

“Alright! I’m going to teach you the coolest tricks!” He cheered as Macaque rolled his eyes.

“And I’M going to teach you proper stances, proper stance is always key when learning magic,” Wukong deadpans.

“Uh, yeah, so is focus genius, that’s basics 101” They start bickering again but they don’t seem to try and attack each other. You sigh, this may be a mistake, but on the other hand, it could be the most educational and worthwhile lesson of your life. You smile gently at the bickering boys as you fondly wonder what the future holds.

Nononononono-! How'd it spiral this far out of control-!?

She doesn't realize she had actually teleported to the fallen Simian, too consumed with concern and fear, not for herself, but for him. Please work, please for the love of Aideen please work... She tries to calm her trembling hands, taking one of them into her own and closing her eyes tightly. She'd never seen the Star Circle be used to bring someone back from near death, but dammit she was going to try. She will not lose anyone else because of her- Her head swam still, but miraculously was able to remember the rhythm of the song, the melody she chanted over and over again in her mind. Jorunn could feel the energy flow, not as violent as the Soul Strike, and she focused all her energy on Macaque, his injuries, his wounds. The cracks raced higher up her arms, and she felt herself nauseated and sick. But that didn't matter...she saw it working-!

The edges of her vision darkened and swam. No. No! She will not black out this time. Not again-!

"Wake up....pl-please wake up..."

Vision was blurred, darkness peaking in on the edges of his sight. It was hard for the six-eared simian to focus on anything in the moment. This was hardly a new sensation for him to feel — after all, he had died once before this. It was something he was overly familiar with, that feeling of both floating and sinking coming back to him. His breath was faint in the moment, chest barely moving at all.

A new sensation greeting him in the moment. The feeling of magic reaching out and flowing into him — who? Unfocused eyes straining to search, landing on the girl in front of him. Oh...this was the one that he had tried to protect. Putting himself in harm’s way to make sure she didn’t die. Was she trying to...?

The cracks forming didn’t escape his notice, even as unfocused as his vision was becoming. His sensitive ears even through the fog hearing the noise that few could pick up on. She was trying to heal him. She was trying to save him. Sharp inhale through bared fangs as he tried to pull himself up, tried to move — stop her from being so foolish in the moment. His whole body feeling like lead in the moment and refusing to move like he wanted, pain rushing when he tried.

“S-Stop — !!”

It hurt to talk, the word slurred out from his lips. Wincing softly as the throbbing in his chest felt worse when he tried — no surprise considering the gaping wound there. His tail curling tightly in response. 

Why did he have to step in? This self-sacrificial bullshit was going to be the end of him — hadn’t he left that in the past? He supposed not when he stepped in to save her from War. A claw reaching out and grasping her arm.

He wasn’t dead yet. It hurt sure, but it was going to take more than a hole in the chest to kill him so easily — he refused to let it. Just like he refused to let her push herself to help him. Not when she should be focusing on her own self right now.

“ — I-I’m fine. D-Don’t...d-don’t...”

More slurred words, pushing past the ache in his chest. The throbbing only getting worse as he moved. No matter how small. It was amazing that Macaque hadn’t passed out from this yet.

This is more of a rant but every time I get to this scene part of me just shrivels ever so slightly. As much as I love this final shot of the beach scene, with the music and Wukong’s reassurance that they can handle whatever is coming, it really makes me feel bad… in a good way!

Like, it just puts me in this unease. Like I’m scared for what’s abt to happen and season 5. Don’t even get me started on Macaque in the centre of the shot being the only one with genuine worry on his face (Red Son’s misery is comical so it’s not as impactful). Like, Macaque is giving me slight death flags and I rlly don’t want him to die but I feel like out of any of the cast the writers would put on the chopping block it’s him—

ANYWAY! This final beach shot scares me and makes me excited for season 5, but also rlly nervous.
