Reading the spoiled brat fic and just imagining if Jason told Tim to his face that he was selfish and didn’t care for anyone for himself, and making myself cry think about all Tim sacrificed for them and specifically what he’d sacrificed for Jason.

Seriously out of everyone Jason would and has proven to be my favorite for dramatic irony. But also insensitive enough to say something like that in the heat of the moment without knowing the bigger picture.

But as a treat- Let me just say we are far from done with the circumstances around Jasons death vs now non death, a sacrifice was made- but just not in any way you'd likely imagine.

Hi Ghost. I read your Robin fic, and I'm wondering if you can recommend other "gay" stories. It's pride, and I'm just not seeing a whole lot out there.

to be completely honest, the only actual queer stories i’ve read in the fandom have been centered around steddie.

because, like you’ve said, there’s not a whole lot out there outside of that.

i’m going to offer up my steddie recs (not steddie x reader but solely steddie, although there are some magnificent steddie x reader fics that include lovely feelings brewing between the boys!!), but also… followers, help some friends out? reblog with some of your favorite queer fics? pretty please?

i would recommend (and most are ao3 recs so be prepared for heavy emotional themes and canon haha):

sticky notes (has been discontinued, but also includes HOH!steve)

heartbreak hotline (includes smut/phone sex)

off the beaten path (challenging the headcanon of eddie knowing he’s gay and steve being clueless - steve realizes he’s gay before eddie does)

keep it steady, eddie (pretty popular amongst steddie fans so you might have heard of it already! includes robin x vickie)

i like to see you in the morning light (fix it fic for canon, where steve was eddie’s alibi when he survives 😌)

and of course, one of my ultimate steddie fic recs and one of my ultimate fic recs for this entire fandom, the lathe. this is the time loop fic for the fandom. i won’t be taking criticism. it made me bawl like a baby and was one of the first major fics i ever read in the fandom. i’ll never sing high enough praise for it. the twists in it are fucking remarkable. it’s just. it’s an experience. also, very popular, and for very good reason.

i would like to note that i haven’t read most of these in a hot minute, so my brief recounts aren’t very helpful probably. also, i know there’s a few notable authors amongst steddie readers, but i only included fics i’ve personally read.

as i said, i’m begging for anyone who sees this who has more queer fic recs to add to do so! i know there’s several in the fandom currently compiling lists as well as there’s been a few robin fics coming across my dash — i just haven’t read them yet! most of my queer fics i’ve gathered from ao3 as you can see lol. in ao3 we trust in this household 🫡

emergency number by @valleykey - found this maybe two weeks ago? was intrigued, started reading and did not put it down once before i was finished. obsessed. 

and a couple of series for fun: - the symbitoic series by @bnesszai - i love everything ness writes but i read this series way before we were friends and still i'm obsessed with it so it deserves a mention - lost remnants series by kanekei - gorgeous and devastating, but mind the warnings bonus: normally i wouldn’t recommend a wip however navarasam has an entire chapter dedicated to (very successfully) hitting me where it hurts so how could i not. thank u vi @starrynightarchive.

For me, many Sonadow fics I've read have both characters be highly OOC. Especially Shadow becomes very suave, gentle, loving, calm, and adoring of Sonic... and I don't see that happening in canon anytime soon XD We know Sonic and Shadow can work well together and not everything is about one-upping the other: e.g. in '06 and Forces, they collaborate really well and efficiently. But in the same vein, it feels very "business" to me, and not at all "we're good pals who love helping each other so much". Plus, those situations are emergencies ("trapped in the ruined future" and "Eggman has taken over the whole world" respectively); in calmer situations like TSR they're constantly trying to prove themself superior over the other. That's not a relationship dynamic that I really enjoy, simply put. Plus, I feel like it gets ignored a lot in fanfics in favour of them being well-adapted husbands who are head-over-heels with each other, where I think neither would express their affection in such ways. So yeah, I think Sonadow would not work with their canon personalities.

Are they born as babies??? Was macaque a baby at one point??? Who took care of him if he was?

What precisely needs to happen for the birth of a celestial primate? Is it like a big bang of sorts? Bubbling magic over the years that reaches the boiling point?

Are they all tied to a celestial body of sorts? With wukong the sun and macaque the moon; what would that make mk and little star?

They're not exactly born as babies. I'd say around like a five-year old human is the equivalent of their birth. In the AU, shadowpeach would just treat MK as a baby, like always carrying him, etc. It's faster to travel that way, but MK's fine to play with the other monkeys and stuff.

Macaque was born and was found by other monkeys on FFM. He hung out with them for a while, going unnoticed by Wukong (since Macaque was the second celestial primate born, Wukong didn't know what to look out for) and Macaque kinda kept to himself until meeting Wukong at one of the gatherings.

Since this AU takes place before S4, i'm kinda not going with the detail that Wukong popped out fully grown. He was...smaller. More monkey sized, and then grew over time.

Celestial Primates are heavily connected to the elements and celestial bodies, so it's a culmination of magic and influence growing over time. FFM is a very special and magical place. Magic flows there willingly. So, celestial magic and whichever elemental magic, and then influence from a celestial body to give a kind of "blessing" of sorts.

Wukong's was the sun, Macaque's the moon. Little Star is stars, MK is the earth itself.

MK is a special primate because of that connection. Since he's the primate of balance, he needed to be connected to all the realms, and the Mortal Realm serves as that connection because it's the realm in the middle. (I know there's six realms, but Mortal Realm and Animal Realm are that "middle" space)

Celestial primate birth is essentially like a big bang, yeah. It's an outpouring of all that stored magic. Celestial primates are kinda like "What the fuck??" because it's elements and magic working on it's own without a spell or anything. Anomalies, basically. Weird occurrences that can't be predicted. But they're known about by the Celestial Realm the second they're born because of that burst of magic.

I kinda put their births and concept in the same basket as corruption magic. Corruption magic can't adequately be explained or predicted, but it's something that is likely to occur. Gods know about it, but they don't know the details. It can't be replicated. That's the same as the primates. That's why they always emphasize how "other" they are. They're very much aware of how strange they are, too.

ooo does Alex start to stim more during the diagnosis journey? (I feel like he would've been told to sit still a lot as a kid and suppressed them?) either way, what are his go to stims aside from Derek's class ring?

Ooh yes definitely! though he's actually the opposite for a while - he learns that some things he are stims and then actively decides that nope he doesn't stim nopeeee

His stims are obviously twirling Derek's ring. I think running his hand back and forth through his hair repeatedly, humming, finger snapping, drumming his fingers on his leg or whatevers close to him, rubbing his feet or hands against something repeatedly (like running a socked foot back and forth across a rug or a couch), and foot tapping. He also repeats words and phrases a lot (echolalia) - this last one has Meredith and Derek being even more careful about what he watches on his phone or youtube or whatever he's watching as he tends to pick up some of the most annoying ones, which often leads to Jackson and April also repeating it.

Derek and Meredith would never discourage his stimming, naturally, but they're also made aware that he needs something to get his nervous energy out, mostly in social situations.

Meredith buys Alex some what she and Derek call 'fun toys' which are just stim toys, which she also plays with so that he sees them as normal toys when he's little, they start to hand them to him when he needs them both when he's little and big .

It takes much longer than he'd care to admit that he's being passed them when he needs to stim, and that they work.

He starts to carry some around after Meredith and Derek put them in his work bag or pockets, with him working in Peds (though he's not quite there yet in my fics) he realises that he can carry some for the kids around with him and not seem out of place -
