Hey! I’m requesting Sanji with “all I want for Christmas” and “under neath the tree” if it’s too much just one of them is fine!
Hello Anon! Thank you so much for sending this request! I’m glad someone chose Sanji! I really love him, and the prompt you picked suited him so well! Of course, I had to tweak it a little to fit the current vibe, but the idea remains the same: we’re dealing with a very romantic and love-struck Sanji. I chose to set the story in a modern AU, I hope you don’t mind 😉 Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you’ll enjoy this sweet little story.
All I Want for Valentine’s
Sanji x gn!reader

Tags: SFW, fluff, Sanji speaks French, modern AU
Notes: English isn't my first language, so I apologize for any mistakes.
Valentine’s Day.
You had never been particularly fond of this holiday. Pink and red hearts filling shop windows, overpriced chocolates, and last-minute flower bouquets… Not really your thing.
But this year was different.
Because this year, Sanji had promised that the evening would be just for the two of you.
And he couldn’t go back on his word.
He had reassured you after Christmas and New Year’s Eve, when he had been stuck at Baratie, the legendary restaurant where he worked as a chef.
The holiday season had been pure hell for him; fully booked weeks in advance, special menus, and the whims of wealthy clients. He had barely had time to breathe.
And you… you had waited.
You had supported him.
Even though, deep down, you had wanted to celebrate those moments with him.
So, when he had taken your hand one morning, his voice sincere and gentle:
“I promise, mon amour. On Valentine’s Day evening, I’m all yours. Just you and me.”
You had believed him. You had felt it was as important to him as it was to you.
But now, here you were, sitting on your couch, eyes glued to your phone, rereading that damned message for the third time:
Sanji: "Mon coeur… I’m so sorry. Zeff needs me tonight. I’ll have to work… Can we reschedule?"
Your stomach tightens.
You feel stupid for hoping.
For imagining that perfect evening: just the two of you, his dishes cooked with love, his blue eyes locked onto yours, and maybe… a few whispered promises.
“Seriously, Vinsmoke?!” you mutter bitterly, throwing your phone onto the cushion beside you.
You don’t even have the strength to reply.
You know Sanji is passionate about his work. You admire him for it.
But why did it have to be tonight, the one night he had promised you?
A wave of frustration washes over you.
Anger.
Disappointment.
And, above all… a dull sadness.
You feel stupid. You let yourself get carried away, as if love could ever really be that simple.
Driven by your irritation, you open your messaging app and type a message to Nami, your best friend.
You: "Well… Guess what? Sanji’s working tonight. Valentine’s Day cancelled! Please tell me you have chocolate and alcohol…"
You hammer the screen with a few dramatic emojis: angry faces, broken hearts, and even a knife for good measure.
You reread it. It feels a bit over the top.
You hit send anyway.
A few seconds later, the familiar typing bubbles appear.
Nami is always quick to respond to a crisis.
Nami: "What?! That idiot… I’m so sorry 🥺. You know what? We’re not letting this ruin the night. I’ve got nothing planned. And men are overrated anyway. I’m kidnapping you, we’ll have a singles-only night. You in?"
You hesitate.
Going out?
Pretending to have fun when your heart feels heavy?
You: "I don’t know… I’m not really in the mood. Plus, I’m in my pajamas. I look like a wet cat." Nami: "Perfect. We’ll turn you into a luxury cat. Come on, we’ll drink, complain about men, and dessert’s on me. You owe me after months of ‘Sanji is so amazing, Sanji is the best chef in the world, Sanji this, Sanji that.’ Get up. We’re going out!"
You can’t help but smile.
You: "Okay… You win." Nami: "Great! I’ll pick you up in an hour."
What you don’t know is that Nami is smiling too.
But not for the same reason…
Later that evening, you’re finally ready.
You hadn’t really wanted to go out at first, but getting ready helped clear your mind.
When Nami arrives, she’s radiant as always.
She showers you with over-the-top compliments about your outfit, clearly trying to coax out a smile.
“Wow, look at you… Sanji’s an idiot, honestly. I bet you could’ve had ten dates tonight if you wanted.”
She winks.
You both walk together through the brightly lit streets.
Valentine’s Day is everywhere; couples holding hands, shop windows overflowing with red hearts…
Even though a small part of you still feels a little bitter, Nami’s presence soothes you. She talks about everything and nothing, the way she always does. She keeps your mind busy without you even noticing.
And then, after a few blocks, you suddenly realize where you are.
In front of Baratie.
You freeze, frowning.
“Uh… Nami?” you ask, suspicious.
She glances at you, pretending innocence, while checking her phone.
“Oh, relax. They’re doing two-for-one cocktails tonight. Buy one, get one free. Would be a shame not to take advantage. And… maybe it’ll remind Sanji what he’s missing out on.”
She gives you a playful smile, but you notice something.
That little smirk, the mischievous sparkle in her eyes… You start to get suspicious.
You open your mouth to question her, but before you can, Zeff appears at the entrance.
Arms crossed - his usual gruff expression - though there’s a trace of amusement in his eyes.
“What are you waiting for? Get in.” he grunts, stepping aside to let you pass.
Your heart skips a beat.
You feel something is up…
Your pulse quickens as you follow Zeff to Baratie’s private terrace, a place usually closed to the public, reserved for special occasions.
When you step inside, you stop in your tracks, wide-eyed.
The terrace is beautifully decorated, strings of warm lights hanging above, a table set under a canopy, a bottle of champagne chilling in an ice bucket, and plates covered with silver cloches.
And there, in the center of it all, Sanji is waiting for you.
A gentle smile on his lips, cigarette dangling casually, his expression a mix of happiness and slight nervousness.
“Finally… Took you long enough, mon amour,” he says softly.
You blink, stunned.
“Sanji?! But… You were supposed to be working?!”
He laughs, stepping forward to take your hands in his.
“Did you really think I’d let work keep me away from you tonight? It was a trick. A setup. And Nami was in on it.”
Your eyes widen, caught between shock and amusement.
You immediately glance toward the entrance. Nami gives you a victorious wave, grinning from ear to ear, before disappearing with a laugh.
You shake your head, half-annoyed, half-impressed.
Of course, she had everything planned.
She knew you by heart.
She knew exactly how you’d react to that cancellation text.
She knew you’d message her in a fury within minutes, and she had been waiting, ready to launch the plan.
“You’ve got some good people around you…” you murmur to Sanji, a soft smile playing on your lips.
He chuckles, giving your hand a gentle squeeze.
“The best.”
And right then you realize you do too.
You shake your head again, feeling both amused and relieved.
“You’re a complete idiot.” you whisper.
“Only for you,” he replies with a grin.
You wrap your arms around him, the weight of your earlier frustration lifting.
All the disappointment from the day melts away.
The evening is perfect. Every dish is crafted with care, the champagne is divine, and your laughter drifts under the stars. And as you sit there, hand in hand, you realize that no matter the misunderstandings, Sanji always keeps his promises.
He loves you.
And tonight, it’s just the two of you.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, mon amour,” he whispers, kissing you softly.
You smile.
No matter the complications. With him, you know everything will be alright.
And that’s all that matters.

It is crazy how crazy the left is. I want to think this writing is hyperbole, a grab for attention, but I think it is mostly just pure unadulterated crazy. So you done have to read this long winded "Boo hoo" essay to herself I'll give you the Cliff Notes.
'I knew he voted red. He knew I voted blue. I had hoped the most capable and most inclusive candidate would win. He hoped his idea of a better America would win. He won, and, from where I stand, America lost.
In the aftermath of Tuesday night’s results, still under the bed covers Wednesday morning, I scrolled social media looking for hope. I unfriended a few short-sighted FB friends — no need to continue our digital relationships and witness their selfishness and hate. Then I saw my husband’s post.
“God Bless America. God bless #45, 47.”' 'I immediately texted, “I love you, but out of respect for me and all my liberal writer friends, can you please take down that post? Also, tell your family I love them, but I will not be coming for Thanksgiving, and I won’t be hosting Christmas. I need space.”
Shortly after I sent the text, he brought me a cup of coffee in bed.
“I am sorry,” he said, “I understand.”' "I hated this divide. I wanted to touch his forearms and feel our connection, but I also felt an urge to punish him and deny him my touch." "I stood briefly at our blue front door — the one I painted last year when I changed all the red in our house to blue. At the time, I thought it was just my obsessive need to redecorate. I didn’t know it would one day read as a protest — or a subliminal message to all who crossed the threshold.
He blew me a kiss goodbye from the living room as he sat drinking from his favorite mug, seemingly oblivious to how upset I was.
I stood at the door thinking about how I could express my hurt. I wanted to say something that would motivate him to erase his error, but I knew if my words were too demanding, or my voice was too filled with anger, it would get me nowhere.
This is a woman’s challenge. This was Kamala’s challenge. I also knew I couldn’t change what had happened — only what happens now. Only what I do now. What I refuse to accept and what I promise to keep fighting for. And to do it all with honesty and love and, yes, anger, too.
I turned to my husband and told him, “I saw that you didn’t take your post down, and that breaks my heart.”
Then I walked out the door — devastated but determined — into the blue of a new day." Dude, all I can say is run! Run fast and far, because you are in danger and I am afraid we'll hear about you on the news when they find your dismembered body in your freezer, nice and BLUE like she's always wanted you.

WordCount: 1.9K
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sliding into your black heels and fixing your tight, mid-thigh long dress before you actually stepped out of your apartment. “I’m on my way, Shoko.” you clicked your tongue. Your childhood friend sometimes was a bit too much but you loved her anyway. “Yes, exactly. I’m literally opening the door downstairs. I already see you.” you started to wave while canceling the call.
“You are late.” she rolled her eyes.
“Oh, c’mon… 3 minutes.”
“You are still late.” she teased. “Nah, get in the car. Utahime and Meimei are already waiting for us.”
“What about the boys?” you asked as you buckled the safety up.
“Nanami picks Haibara up and they come with Kento’s car.”
And what is all the fuss about, you may ask? It was a tradition. You’ve been friends since high school and stuck together even if you grew up. Even when you were at different unis and started to work at different workplaces. All of you gathered in the town twice a year. Once for a nice dinner before Christmas and once for a wasted gambling night in the Spring. Since it was April you were eager to meet your friends and let out all the stress, get wasted and probably win some money.
It’s been a few years now that you stopped your career as a professional poker player. On a night like this you were able to feel the tension once again, to feel the adrenalin crawling up in your body and you let it spread in your veins. You had a perfect, so-called poker face. No one could read your emotions and you made advantage of that skill whenever you needed to.
All of you met in front of the entrance, between kisses, hugs and howareyous you looked up for a blink and saw the big neon letters “GOJO”. This casino entered your town not long ago and you were more than happy to give it a try.
As soon as you stepped in the girls aimed for the bar.
“The usual?” Utahime asked you.
“Yes, honey. Thank you. I’ll be over at the…”
“Poker table.” Meimei finished your sentence giggling.
“You know me too well.” you laughed.
Yu joined the girls, while Kento decided to escort you to the table you just picked randomly.
“Tonight is my night, girl.” he leaned closer to you as soon as you took a seat. “I’m gonna win all your sweet money. It will be a perfect revenge for last year’s disaster.”
“You wish, sweetheart.” you petted his thigh. “You wish.”
Round after round you won the pot and kept gathering Kento’s chips, just as the other two player’s, too. Your friend was getting more and more impatient and probably irritated.
“Fuck…” he hissed. “I’m out.” he rolled his eyes the second you raised the bet on the river. After an hour or so Kento was lacking his chips, maybe they were enough for 2 or 3 more rounds.
***
“Boss, I need you to come with me please.” Yuuta bowed slightly before Gojo.
“What’s the matter?” he frowned. The head of security called him only when there was something off.
“I think there might be a cheater at one of the poker tables.” he sat down in the security room in front of the countless screens which gave them access to see everything in the casino. “Look! Do you see it at table 7? She keeps winning for one and a half hours straight. There’s no way she doesn’t count the cards…” he shook his head irritated. “Do you want me to kick her out?”
Gojo stepped closer, rubbing his thumb and index finger up and down on his jaw. “Hmm…” he growled as he stared at you. “I will handle her myself.” he spun on his heels and left the room. “Let’s see if you are a cheater or a genius, darling.” he smirked as he hurried his steps towards your table.
***
“Oh, c’mon!” Nanami threw his hands into the air. “I know you’re bluffing, girl. I’m sure!”
“Am I?” you poked your tongue against your inner cheek.
“Go, sweety, go!” Yu cheered for you from behind, sitting at a normal table, sipping his drink. He and the girls took a break and decided to watch the painful execution of Nanami Kento’s wallet.
“Shut your mouth, Haibara!” hissed the blonde haired man, as he pushed his glasses back up on his nose.
“Show me what you got.” you smiled after the river. At this time only you and him stayed at the table, everyone else gave up and left.
“I win this. I know I do.” he smirked and flashed a full house with Aces full of Kings.
“My sweet, Kento, my sweet sweet Kento.” your voice sounded warm and nice which sent shivers down his body.
“What?! WHAT?!” he clenched his jaw. “If you dare to tell me that…”
“Four of a kind…” you revealed your cards “Queens.” you chuckled a bit as the dealer repeated the result and pushed all the chips to you.
“Fuck off! Seriously, just fuck off, girl!” he took a desperately huge breath.
“Good evening.” a husky voice interrupted the little act at the table. “May I join? It seems this pretty lady is getting lucky, so I would like to try mine, too” the snow white haired man said politely. You missed the quick glance the dealer gave to his boss.
“There’s no luck in this, sir.” you rolled your eyes offended. “I’m simply good at this game.”
He raised his index finger as he took a seat, signing he wanted to join the game anyway.
“If you are an enemy of your own wallet, you can join us.” Nanami hummed.
The cards were dealt and everyone made the bet. You tried to read your newest opponent but him wearing dark sunglasses gave you a hard time.
“You’re staring.” he smirked.
“I know.” you raised one of your eyebrows.
Kento wanted to show off, even if he was terrible at any card games. Everyone knew it except him. He clicked his tongue, so you already knew he actually had something in his hand. You were holding a 7,2 off, so you dropped them without hesitation. There was no way on Earth you would try anything risky with the most horrible combination you could get.
As you kept staring at the handsome man next to you, he slightly pulled his sunglasses off, flashing his mesmerizingly blue eyes. “Holy fuck!” you thought to yourself.
Kento wasn’t paying attention, he was sure this time he was going to win the pot. So he of course missed the cheeky wink his opponent gave you before pushing the glasses back up. You bit your lower lip, because even if it was clearer than the sun you couldn’t say a single thing. You rather tried to find out what he could hold. According to the cards on the table after the river you had two possibilities in mind.
“All in.” he pushed all his chips to the middle of the table.
“Call!” snapped Kento without even thinking for a second.
“Fuck, Nanami!” you shook your head angrily. “How can you be this stupid!”
“Easy, girl. I got this…” he smirked, flashing his cards. “Four of a kind, Aces.” he kept raising his eyebrows up and down. But the fact his opponent pulled a tiny smile told you more than enough.
“He has a fucking straight flush, Kento. Why can’t you read the freaking cards?” you hummed a bittersweet laugh.
“How did you know…” he frowned as he showed the Queen and King of hearts in his hand. The dealer placed them right next to the rest of the cards in the middle of the table and called him the winner.
“Don’t worry.” you turned to Nanami. “I’m gonna win your money back.” you winked at him.
“Will you?” your opponent chuckled. “By the way I’m Satoru.” he offered his hand for a shake.
“Nice to meet you.” you nodded.
“It’s my pleasure to play with a woman like you.” he tried to smooth talk.
“Stop flirting and make the bet.” you pretended to yawn.
Gojo pulled his hand back and slightly smiled. Your cheeky attitude amazed him.
As you promised your friend after a few rounds you had all the chips.
“Your girlfriend is very very talented.” he turned to Nanami.
“Girlfriend? Her? I would never ever date her…” he bursted out in a loud laughter.
You punched him hard in the shoulder. “Asshole.”
“You see?” Nanami tilted his head a bit.
“Only a fool wouldn’t date a beautiful lady like her.” he looked you in the eyes. That was the moment he got your attention.
***
Gojo had no intention in telling you he was the owner of the place, rather he invited you for a drink at the bar. You stepped to your friends and promised them you were going to be back soon.
“Girl! Don’t be ridiculous!” Meimei chuckled. “This guy is hot as fuck. Go get him.”
“A Gin-tonic, please.” you sat down at the bar.
“Actually, two.” Gojo took a seat next to you.
The second you wanted to pay for your drink the bartender smiled and said “It’s on the house, miss.”
You were surprised but didn’t turn down the free drink. Satoru started to ask you questions about your skill and you ended up telling him your story.
“I used to be a pro player.” you pulled a painful smile. “But I had to quit and since then I rarely play.”
“You are full of surprises, I am honestly amazed.”
The hours flew by and even if you had fun it was time to end the night.
“The casino has hotel rooms as well.” Gojo offered it smoothly.
“Thanks.” you stood up and placed your palm on his shoulder. “But I don’t do one night stands anymore.”
He smirked at your comment and grabbed a business card in his pocket, handing it to you as he stood up as well. “I’m not interested in one night stands either. Call me when you are ready to date me.” he gave a quick kiss on your cheek and left.
You stared at the card in your hand and frowned, because you were sure you'd seen his name somewhere. As you walked out of the building and turned around there it was. The huge neon letters “GOJO” right above the entrance flashed into your face. You grabbed your phone right away and sent him a text message.
“Why didn’t you say you own this whole place?”
“Does it matter?” he texted you back almost immediately.
You hummed a laugh, because he made a point. “No, actually it does not matter.”
***
The next morning you were woken up by your ringing phone.
“Yeah?” you picked up, being barely awake.
“So, are you ready to date me, yet?” Gojo’s husky voice made you smile.
“Uhm…” you had no idea what to say.
“I’ll pick you up at 7 sharp.” he hung up.
“Well, it seems I’m gonna have a date tonight.” you blinked a few times before a question popped in your mind. “Wait! How the hell does he know my address?”
You had no idea that Gojo Satoru wasn’t only an owner of a casino. No. He was the head of one the biggest mafia families in the whole country.
Hiii! How about recently starting a relationship with Nico before the summer break, and obviously not traveling back home with him since it is far too early to meet the family. But now he is back in the States with his entire family and they are dying to meet you but you are still a little apprehensive about it all. 😊
Nico's New Girlfriend
A/N: Ooo I hate how long this took. So sorry, anon! Thank you for your patience 😘
Word Count: 1.3k
Warnings: None!
Nico is barely awake on the phone screen in your hand. You are both watching the final episode of Ted Lasso together via FaceTime while he is back home in Switzerland- 3,900 miles away, not that you’re counting. His eyes are droopy, long lashes extending out to dust along his cheek bones. He promised if you two watched a show together, he would be able to stay awake longer. Poor thing has been training so hard. His eyes were sluggish when the opening credits began.
“Nico. You should go to sleep.” You say, startling him back awake.
“I’m not sleepy.” He mumbles back, widening his eyes and looking back at his TV.
“You are. And you need to be up early for your Nashville flight.” Nico sighs, running a hand through his hair as he sits up, clicking the TV off.
“It’s hard knowing I’m going to be flying over you and not seeing you.” He grumbles. Nico invited you to attend the NHL awards with him this week, but it all felt too soon. You both discussed it at length. But your apprehension won. This is so new and meeting his whole family on a massive, public scale while being photographed with him felt like too much. How would you live with those pictures out there forever if things were to end? You shiver again at the uncomfortable thought of losing him.
“I know. I’m sorry.” You bite at your fingernail regretfully.
“It’s okay. I want you to be comfortable. Maybe by Christmas.”
“Definitely by Christmas.”
“Good, Nina makes the best hot chocolate with whipped cream and nutmeg on top.” Nico sighs as he remembers it. “I can’t wait to share you with them. You should know they have been asking about you. They told me I should beg you to reconsider.” You pout at him, loving the way his eye crinkle in the corners with his small smile.
After many more attempts to get Nico off the phone, he finally agrees to go to bed. You go about the rest of your day in the afternoon, doing some shopping and preparing for the week ahead at work. You fight off the Sunday scares by going to bed early.
That night, while you’re sleeping, a Hischier you haven’t met drops into your Instagram DMs.
Hi Y/N, it’s Nina, Nico’s sister. I am sorry to introduce myself so abruptly, but… I think you need to know how sad Nico is that you are not joining us in Nashville. He won’t say anything to you because he does not want to put pressure on you. But he wants you there. He feels his success this year was because of your support. He wishes to share it with you, whether he wins or not. Please reconsider! I’ll help with whatever I can!
You smile, biting your lip at hearing from Nina. Nico loves her. And talks of her often. He is convinced you two will be best friends. To hear from her with such a heartfelt and honest confession does something to your reservations. It cancels most of them from your brain and before you even know what you’re doing, you’re booking a last minute flight to Nashville. The price and fees are outrages and the flight time is shit, but damn, Nico is worth it.
It takes assistance from one of the WAGS to get in touch with a Devils’ employee who can assist with getting you close to Nico for the surprise. The NHL Awards are sure to be locked down with security and you need to be sure you can see him. You suit up into a simple black dress that isn’t eye catching, but fancy enough that you can walk into the arena with him. Your pass is tucked safely in your clutch to avoid being stolen. Your hair falls in curled tendrils down your shoulders and a pair of strappy sandals help give you some heigh to push your way through the crowd. Once you’re at the fencing, your fingers fiddle with the picture of Nico in your hands for him to sign.
The Devils nominees all arrive together. You smile, watching as Nico awkwardly navigates around, showing his suit, doing interviews, and shifting around from foot to foot at all the attention. Fans scream his name from every direction. His family searches the crowd for you while Nico tends to his captaincy duties. Fans line the bike rack all around you. They press you further up against the rack as other players walk by, signing and posing for pictures. They can grab whatever they want from these other players. You only care about one.
Nico gets closer, nibbling his lip and signing every thing thrusted in front of his face. He’s so gracious with fans, even when he doesn’t want to be.
“They deserve the best from me.” He told you once before when you were stopped multiple times while out at dinner. He had offered to say no to these interactions when you were together, but you loved watching Nico in this setting. The way he takes time to ask follow up questions and makes sure the picture turned out right or giving hugs when asked.
And that’s how you know he will come to you without any effort on your part.
You don’t say anything as he gets to the kid right next to you. He barely is looking up anymore, just trying to sign as many things as he can before the NHL representative pushes him into the arena. He reaches for the picture in your hands as his family stops behind him to watch you two. Nina makes eye contact with you excitedly while pulling up her phone to film the interaction.
“Do you think I could have a picture?” You wonder, leaning a bit more forward. Nico snaps up at the sound of your voice. He grins, electricity jolting through you at being the recipient of that awestruck look.
“Babe…” He is in disbelief but smiling so wide his dimples pinch perfect slits into his cheeks. “What?”
“Surprise!”
He can only stare back at you. His hand is paused with the picture between you, marker hovering. Fans call out his name insistently, but he can’t pull his eyes off of you. You step onto the bike rack, reaching out for him to move closer. He does wrapping his arms around your waist as the security guard is getting ready to yell at you.
He buries his face into the nook of your neck. You press your nose into his hair, closing your eyes to ignore the hundreds of cameras taking pictures of you. Those pictures are posted on social media stories across a handful of platforms. It won’t take long for the fans to find you. What scared the shit out of you a week ago now gives new life as you realize why Nico wanted you here so bad. Its so obvious in the way he holds you and cradles your face when he pulls away to kiss you.
Nico Hischier is in love with you.
“I can’t… tell you what this means to me.”
“You don’t have to… Nina did.” Nico sighs, looking over his shoulder at his sister. He leans back down to hug you again, murmuring that he still isn’t quite sure this is real.
You make eye contact with Nico’s family over his shoulder. The four of them watch their beloved boy crumble into soothing contentment with his new girlfriend. Nico knows he should let you go, but he can’t yet. You feel like home even though he just left home.
His family, the people he adores and honors every moment of his life, know exactly why Nico feels so content now.
They could see it in the way he talked about you so far this summer. It’s why Nina reached out and Jack smirks as he walks around you two to continue to sign autographs.
You’re the one. Indisputably. And now the rest of the world knows it too.
Sometimes I wish Jimin stop being so secretive on cam and basically a wallflower. I wish he speaks up more and calls out BS immediately, especially during lives like JK/Tae or Joon does or is it because he doesn't get much wierd comments 🤔. Also stop being so fucking humble.. like sir you are a history maker, everything you release are organic hits, have a huge fanbase, your bdays are celebrated as Christmas day, why tf would you think you don't even deserve a music show win ?????? Own your success and skills please 🤧
And I also wish JK stop being so impulsive, saying and doing absolute dumbest things 🤧 sometimes he sounds like those cocky boys who will say they'll make you come thrice in a row and will climax within 2 seconds lol. He's so cocky; knows he's hot and his impact but at the same time he still don't know what he really needs. So I wish he becomes more mature and get his shit together asap
Maybe if they use share these qualities a bit with each other it will be fine lol. JK sharing some of his cockiness with Jimin so he can go 'yeah that me, Park Jimin' bitches 💅' and Jimin sharing some of his level headness with JK, so he can think before doing and saying some things 🥲
Idk how they are even navigating through their relationship when both are on opposite ends of attitude and lifestyles, like is that even possible ? Won't both parties get sick of each other soon? ... or maybe like you said JK is the freedom Jimin is craving for and Jimin is the leash JK very much needed 🤷♀️
Set me free was liberating for me and I think Jungkook too cos he stamped his approval on it like you could tell Jimin frustrates him sometimes with the kill them with kindness vibes he has going on.
And I know Jimin is not a push over too cos there's some really hard core ghettoness buried deep inside his slytherine heart- he is the master of self control cos I'll be getting canceled every second if I were him🥲🥲🥲
I'll be dropping mid night rants talking bout yall could never be me😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hash tag jealous
Hash tag up in your man's arms 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And he lowkey be shading too but we don't talk about that🥲
He's constantly trolling haters posting Jungkook shirtless, leaning on him kissing up on him daring yall to come for Kook if he's your mans💔💔💔💔
This literally him on these streets he eats and wink
Shade is cool Jimin but throw the damn tree too🤣
They are both fascinating.
Oh lord not 2 seconds 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
You is going to hell for that😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not gonna lie, I do enjoy his chaotic character most times. I'm big on diversity. If everyone acted the same way they'd be boring as hell plus I like my BTS a tad crackheads🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
JUNGKOOK'S a vibe. Not many idols like him. He be be tanking on the idol part sometimes- I don't think he even sees or thinks of himself as an idol😭😭🤣🤣
An idol is a whole personna carefully curated to appeal to an audience- when I tell you Jungkook ain't curating shit for no one and to please no one😭😭😭😭😭
Tell him to do aigoo I dare ya🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭
Sometimes I just play his memes and sleep. It's the new Netflix and chill for me.
Doesn't take himself too too serious, easy going non judgemental, quirky😭😭😭
And he is very relatable. We all don't say the right things all the time, or do the right things and overthink everything.
Some people don't find that attractive in Idols but I like it. That that I like that
Im a bit of a crack head myself so.... anywho
For an idol, yea perhaps he could be a bit more controlled and polished but not too much cos then he'd lose relatability and seem outta touch.
Frankly I think they are both perfect as they are💀
I wouldn't change much but you are right they both could influence eachother a bit and they do TRUST. 💜
Revenge on the Ranch//G.Tillman
Index
This is gonna be a multi-part series. It's gonna follow the story of Rumor Abbott as she progresses further into her career as an agent for the FBI and what she plans on when coming across blackmail. She is a long-time girlfriend of Gator Tillman and would do about anything to protect their love.
This story may have some dark themes, but I promise to detail all of the warnings. As mentioned previously, I am creating my own plotline but incorporating some themes from Fargo and Outer Range. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Warnings for this part: Language (few cuss words), Mentions of R*y Tillman.
Two weeks earlier
“What do you mean, they canceled the competition?”
“Im telling you, they didn’t have enough cmpetitiors so now I’m done a month early.” Rhett was my older brother. He rode bulls professionally, and during the off season helped ur father and eldest brother Robert at the ranch.
Rhett and I were closer in age making us closer in our relationship. He was the one to ship me away from the butt fucks of nowhere. Said my talent was a waste in the city we grew up in. Because of him I got into Quantico and began to pursue my dream.
“Well shit, what are you gonna do now?”
“Mom found out and entered my name into the homecoming competition. Said it’s an easy win. So guess I'm going back.”
Mom always did sneaky things to get us back home. Said shes done with Dad and Robert antics. This was a classic move by Reese herself.
“Hows training going? You almost done?”
“I got a few months to go but its going good. I got to work this team this past week. Was able to locate and gather more intel for them.”
“Thats what I like to hear.”
I hummed to his response. I was sitting on the balcony of my apartment. The city was loud, in many ways than once. People yelling, sirens from every cancer with my head constantly going round in circles with thoughts.
“So you able to come up with me?”
“There it is.”
“Look you know Mom signed me up for a reason, she knows us.”
Mom did know us. I haven’t seen Rhett since last Christmas or have been able to get away to see him ride.
“I don’t know Rhett.”
“Come one, please. Do this for your favorite brother”
I laugh at his opinion.
“You think youre my favorite?”
“I definitely am.”
“That's presumptuous.”
“Well then, don’t go up for me–go up to see lover boy.”
I went silent thinking about that. Gator and I haven't seen each other since New Year. My schedule is the opposite of his. We talk every day still; we just haven't seen each other.
“What day are you gonna go up?”
“Probably Thursday. Friday is the competition.”
“Thursday, I have work till noon. But if you can't pick me up, no worries, I’ll drive up.”
“Sounds good. I'll see you later, Rue.”
“Bye, Rhett.” I hung up the phone. Immediately looking down at my lock screen. A picture of Gator and I last summer. I needed to go home, even for just a few days.
I finished work around 1250. Today, I was on the desk for a gruesome case. I was able to find some information, but they weren’t able to raid till it was signed off by a judge.
I began my walk from the office to my apartment.
On the way there, I wanted to grab a pick-me-up drink, stopping by my local coffee shop.
I walked in, and there were two people in front of me. I took this time to text Gator,
How’s it going?
I send and within seconds I see the three dots.
Dad scheduled me to be out on the field. It’s like he know’s
You're gonna be back soon.
I’m counting down the hours
I smiled at the last text. I look up and notice it was my turn to order.
“Hey Rumor, your usual?” I nodded and smiled. I began to pay when I heard the barista talk to me again. “You know, Rumor, there's a band playing at the Klatch this weekend; I have an in and was wondering if you’d be willing to go with me.”
The barista’s name was Vincent. He’s been working here since I moved. He went to college but dropped out, exclaiming he wasn’t gonna spend his life working away.
“Sorry Vince, I’m actually planning on going back home this weekend.”
“Yeah, to see that fake boyfriend of yours.”
I just pressed my lips into a thin line. Despite Vincent knowing about Gator, he has always given me shit about him. Saying it would just be better if I said I wasn’t interested in him rather than creating a fake boyfriend.
Rather than responding, I just grabbed my drink, gave a small smile, and walked out.
Yeah, it's definitely time to go back home.
And like an angel from heaven as I turn the corner to reach my apartment. There he was sticking out like a sore thumb. Dressed like a cowboy. Hat, boots, and one of his sponsors jacket on.
“Rhett!” I scream overwhelmed with emotions.
He was standing in front of my building. I run towards him, he engulfs me in a hug.
“Holy shit Rue. I have never seen you run that fast.”
“What, I can't miss my favorite brother?” I say.
“That is exactly what I like to hear.”
I laugh.
“Okay, let me shower, pack my bags, and then we can hit the road.”
Rhett nodded.
“Thank god I have time for a nap.”
Arriving at home was bittersweet. The ranch looks the same. But those who occupy it look older. Dad has a few more gray scattering his beard and Momma is aging like fine wine. Both of them cried when we got out of the car.
If it was up to them they would have us at the ranch year long, but they are the type of parents who don’t hold their kids back from their dreams. And for that, I am thankful.
“Honey, you haven't been eating,” Momma exclaimed. I roll my eyes at her.
“Mom I eat just fine.”
“Rob, go get your sister’s stuff! Rhett needs to rest up.”
“You owe me so many drinks tomorrow.” Robort says hugging me once more.
I laugh at thow we have resumed the hustle and bustle of the house like it once was all those years ago.
Rylee was now walking and had long hair pulled into braids. I got up to swoop her, having her grow into a fit of giggles.
“Aunty Ru-Ru!” She says while giggling.
I see Jane and rush to give her a hug. Jane was always the older sister I never had.
“Hell Rumor look at you!” She said taking me in. “Crime stopping does wonder for you.” I laugh at her comment. Jane and Robert were high school sweethearts. Jane was always around, she got me ready for my first date and did my makeup for all the special occasions. I set Rylee down and pulled Jane into another hug “Miss you sis.” I said.
“Don’t go soft on us killer.”
I look down to see her belly growing.
“Son of a bitch.” I say under my breath.
“Hey don't talk like that about your nephew.”
“Rumor, come eat!” Jane laughed hearing Momma call me. I walked over and sat down. Content with the peacefulness around me.
After dinner and the catching up conversations with the family, Momma sent us all to bed because of the competition tomorrow. Exclaiming we all needed to be on our best behavior, as it was the first time since graduation we would all be together. I laid in bed and reached that call button. I heard it ring a few times before I heard him.
“How is my girl doing back?”
“Momma made me eat two servings of food and made us all go to bed. So currently a little happy."
“Sounds like Reese.”
“Where you at?”
“An hour or so up north. Roy sent me up due to a call about some missing cattle. I’m just sitting here till six and then heading back.”
“He hates me.”
“That I can not dispute. He is even making sure that I go to the station before the competition tomorrow to ensure my papers are up to date.”
“I hate him”
I heard Gator snicker.
“You’ll see me before your brother is up to ride, I promise.”
“I miss you.”
“I’m pretty sure I miss you more.”
I took a deep breath, and Gator did the same.
“Not to be a pest but why didn’t you text me back earlier?”
“Some asshole I was dealing with tampered my mood.
Then Rhett was already at my apartment.”
I heard him hum.
“Anyone I need to deal with?”
“Not yet. But you can deal with your father for me.”
He laughs.
“Call me if you can't sleep. Ill be up, but get some rest.”
“I will. See you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow, love you.”
“Love you.”
hmmmmm how about amberlynn as sickie + caretakers of your choosing + overworking, a stomach issue and emergency room? excited to see what you come up with!
First Autumn-fic, folks!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was tradition for the drama program to put on a special show in October. There was a whole voting system and everything, and it came down to ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ or ‘Hocus Pocus’.
Amberlynn had been elated when the winning result was ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’. And even more so when she was told she got the role of Sally.
But of course, after weeks and weeks of practice, leave it to her annoying History of Theater professor to state that there would be an exam on the same day as the show.
Amberlynn groaned, trying to read her textbook while Felix tried to pin fabric to the skirt of her costume. He’d pricked his finger several times, and when she moved one more time—too distracted to stay still—he huffed and dropped his pins, snatching the book from her hand. “Hey!”
“Starry, please,” Felix sighed, putting a random pen in the book to mark her page. “I’d rather not make my finger look like Swiss cheese while making your costume.”
Amberlynn pouted, but sighed, straightening and standing still. “Fine.”
Felix bent and got back to pinning the fabric. “So, I assume you’re worried about your test?”
Amberlynn scoffed. “I don’t know which professor I’m more pissed at. The one who made the day of the show on a weekday, or the one who knowingly put an exam on the same day. They’re both in the theater department, so signals weren’t crossed. It was fucking intentional.”
Felix’s eyes widened and he chuckled and her anger. “Bloody hell. I’ve never heard you say the f-word. You’re usually so. . . chill and sweet. Demure, even. This is refreshing.”
“Studying and rehearsing is the worst,” Amberlynn groaned. “I haven’t even hung out with Kei in days! I just keep bitching to him over texts about how much crap I have to do.”
Felix stood straight, brows raised slightly. “Really? Don’t you two live together?”
Amberlynn blushed at that, some of her anger being puttered out by the single question. She chuckled a bit. “I mean, technically he asked me to move in with him over the summer and I agreed, but my scholarship includes housing and the dorms are closer so I've been studying and sleeping there instead of Kei's place."
“How long have you two been dating anyway?”
Amberlynn blushed a little more. “Since high school.”
“And you still don’t live together?!”
"We do!" she shot back. Then she sighed. “And what about you and Atticus? How long have you been dating?”
This time, Felix’s face reddened. “We started dating about a month after we met in our first year here.” He put one more pin in the dress before stepping back, smiling. “Alright, Starry. Take the dress off carefully, and you can be on your way.”
Amberlynn nodded, carefully sliding the sleeves off her shoulders and stepping out of the dress. She grabbed her clothes and began to put them back on while Felix put the dress on a table with the other costume—the Halloween Town Mayor—he had to work on.
“Bye, Felix,” Amberlynn said, hurriedly grabbing her textbook and leaving, barely hearing as Felix said goodbye back.
— — —
The auditorium was as good a place as any to study.
The campus’s cafeteria was too noisy, and the library didn’t have the vibe she needed to study theater history. The auditorium was empty, had perfect lighting, and was her favorite place to study.
Amberlynn unwrapped her lunch—a chicken salad & pesto sandwich—and began eating while she opened her textbook on her lap, reading and re-reading and putting her sandwich down to write notes every so often.
Amberlynn had gotten a decent amount of work done my the time she finished her sandwich. She checked her phone after what must’ve been forty minutes of studying, and saw an email from her last professor of the day saying that the class had been cancelled that day and would resume tomorrow. Amberlynn smiled, realizing she had an hour off before rehearsals. She could see Kei!
She decided to text and ask where he was. She got no answer. She messaged again, and got a response this time after five whole minutes. The text said, ‘Sry, baby. In class. ttyl, ily!!🩷’.
Amberlynn’s smile fell. She decided that while in the auditorium, she might as well practice her lines a bit more on the stage. Maybe she’d see him after rehearsals, if she could find him before he went home and went straight to sleep like he’d been doing.
She got up on the stage, leaving her script behind, and she began to walk around on the stage as if practicing with the other actors. She got lost in it, even practicing some of the songs. It was like a trance, and she got lost in the story, forgetting everything around her.
. . . and when she was done, she heard clapping.
Amberlynn’s heart leaped out of her chest, and she saw Felix by the auditorium doors, smiling. “Brilliant,” he said, making his way over as she got down from the stage, blushing furiously.
“How long were you watching?”
“About fifteen minutes.” He smiled. “I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch together.”
Amberlynn smiled a bit back, but it was slightly forced. How that she wasn’t focused on practicing, she was starting to feel a little bit off. “Sorry, I already ate.”
“Oh. Well, how about we just hang out for a bit?” He shrugged, looking a little sheepish. “Atti is in class, and I’m bored. And my roommate this year is worse and more gross than my last one, so I don’t wanna go back to my dorm.”
Amberlynn had no reason to say no, so she agreed.
— — —
Felix was a chatterbox, Amberlynn realized.
They were sitting on a bench in the college’s courtyard, talking.
Well, Felix was doing most of the talking. A single question turned into a whole story every time, and Amberlynn listened happily, glad that she could keep her mouth shut since she could feel saliva pooling in it, and she really was not in the mood to puke. She was stressed enough, and didn’t need to be sick on top of everything.
“My mum is basically my best friend,” he told Amberlynn. “And I think she’d love you. Y’know, she has a soft spot for astronomic fashion.” He chuckled. “My dad flipped out the first time he saw me trying on my mum’s astronomic designs; not her male ones, her female ones. I was about seven. I just thought the blouses were better than the plain button-ups.”
“I bet you were a cute kid. Was your dad mad when you came out?”
He shook his head, smiling. “Nah. I guess he could already tell because I was closer to my mum, and I had an interest in fashion like her. He always dreamed of having his son become a lawyer, but he told me he’d get me a tulle and a sewing kit instead of a Mont Blanc pen if it’d make me happy.”
Amberlynn smiled, thinking that was sweet.
“What’re your parents like?”
“Oh. My dads are amazing.”
Felix raised a brow, waiting for her to continue. Amberlynn really didn’t want to. The nausea was starting to make her head spin.
“Well, um. . . my Pápa is really protective and he bakes a lot. And my dad—” Amberlynn interrupted herself when her stomach squeezed and she turned her head away to gag into her fist. She felt really sick.
“Starry? You okay?” Felix asked, concerned.
Amberlynn shook her head, not bothering to hide it since there was no point in trying.
“What’s wr—”
Felix was cut off when Amberlynn doubled over, puking on the ground by her feet. She coughed and gaged at the nasty taste of acid and her half-digested chicken salad sandwich.
Cursing softly, Felix grabbed her curls and pulled them back away from her face. He had a white scrunchy on his wrist that matched his outfit, and he used it to tie her hair into a messy bun.
Amberlynn whined. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled, her voice thick with nausea.
“Don’t be,” Felix said rubbing her back. “How long have you been feeling ill?”
She shrugged. “Since in the auditorium.”
“Damn,” Felix sighed, his hand touching her nape. His thin hands were cold and a welcome feeling against Amberlynn’s overheated skin.
Amberlynn heaved and brought up another stream of puke, her whole body jerking and trembling with the force. She squeezed her arms around herself, feeling close to tears from the pain. And to make matters worse, her phone suddenly began ringing, letting her know that it was time to head to rehearsals. She felt too dizzy and sick to even stand.
“Damn,” Felix cursed, turning off the alarm going off on his own phone. “Rehearsals are starting soon.”
Amberlynn suddenly sobbed, and Felix’s eyes widened as he realized she was crying and tears were dripping down her face.
“Hey hey, what’s wrong, darling? Why’re you crying?”
She shook her head, continuing to sob before vomiting again, this time getting a little splash on her cute purple platform heels. She groaned, sweat dripping down her back, her whole body tingling uncomfortably, her mind racing, and feeling completely overwhelmed.
She just wanted it all to stop. The stress, the sickness, everything. And most of all, she wanted Kei.
Amberlynn was aware that there were other students around, watching as they passed, and she wanted to be invisible.
“Do you wanna find a bathroom inside?” Felix asked. “Instead of staying on this bench?”
Amberlynn said nothing for a second before nodding. She and Felix stood—Felix keeping an arm around her—and they made their way back inside the arts building.
Felix stopped outside the door for the women’s bathrooms. “Do you think you could go in by yourself.”
Amberlynn said nothing, lips pressed shut, but she nodded, stepping away from Felix and going in, barely hearing him say, “I’ll be out here.”
Amberlyn half-stumbled into the empty bathroom and into a stall, barely shutting the stall door before crouching in front of the toilet and vomiting violently enough to make her head spin.
I’m gonna be late for rehearsals, she thought. And then she wondered if she was too sick to focus on studying.
She started crying all over again, overwhelmed, stressed, and feeling like shit.
Amberlynn stayed there for a long while, bringing up streams of vomit, each stream more pathetic and thinner than the last until she was just dry heaving.
She wondered how long she was sitting there before her phone suddenly chimed. Nauseously, she lifted her head from the bowl and took out her phone to read the message, only to groan. Kei was done with class. He said he wanted to see her rehearsal and was on his way to the arts building.
Honestly though, she wanted Keiko to come. She wanted nothing more in that moment than for him to fuss over and take care of her and dote on her. So she sent him a text, telling him to go to the restrooms on the left-side of the building instead of to the auditorium.
She put her phone back in her pocket and leaned over the toilet again, gagging but only bringing up a sick burp. Her stomach felt heavy and it was churning horribly.
Amberlynn heard Felix call into the bathroom, asking if she was fine. She wanted to shout back that she was, but couldn’t bring herself to do so since she really was anything but fine.
Minutes? Hours? Amberlynn’s ears were ringing, she felt dizzy, and she had no idea how long she was there. Long enough for her knees to be aching though.
And long enough for her to hear voices outside.
Amberlynn couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief when she heard Keiko call her name as he came into the bathroom, girl’s bathroom sign be damned. The stall door was still open, so Keiko didn’t have to knock and just came in, immediately crouching down beside her and cooing. She was so happy and relieved he was there that her eyes filled with tears, and she said his name in a small, tearful voice.
“Hey, you’re okay, baby,” he told her, half-hugging her and cupping her forehead with one hand. “What happened, Am?”
She sniffed grossly, shrugging, forcing herself to look at the swirling mess in the toilet to encourage her stomach to just purge the rest of its contents as well.
“Felix says you’ve thrown up a ton already,” Keiko said softly, already mostly over the shock of the sudden situation. “I think you’re empty. C’mon, I’ll take you home.”
Amberlynn shook her head, gagging dryly again. She was purposefully clenching her stomach, trying to force herself to puke. Keiko noticed and, still half-hugging her, moved the arm around her so that his hand rested gently on her stomach. “Baby, please don’t force it like that. You’re not gonna be sick right now.”
She spat in the bowl before looking up at Keiko. Some of her curls came loose from her bun and one was coated in bile, and she knew she looked disgusting with puke on her chin, tears on her cheeks, and snot running from her nose. Still, Keiko leaned in and planted a kiss on her forehead. “C’mon, Am. Let’s go.”
After flushing the toilet, Amberlynn half-stumbled over to the sink to splash and clean her face with water, cleaning off the sick-covered curl as well. Keiko kept an arm around her as they left the bathroom. Felix was still waiting outside, and Atticus—who had come to see the rehearsals (and Felix’s costumes) with Kei—was with him.
“Are you alright?” Atticus asked, looking worried. Felix had explained the situation to him.
Amberlynn nodded, not really convincingly, before looking at Felix. “Thanks,” she said to him, her voice slightly hoarse.
He gave her a small smile. “Don’t worry ‘bout it, Starry. Just let me know when you’re feeling better.”
She nodded. Keiko said bye to Felix and Atticus before walking Amberlynn outside and towards the parking lot.
They didn’t say anything on the way there. When they got to the car, Keiko leaned Amberlynn’s seat back and kissed her forehead again before going to the driver side.
It was a quiet drive, and Amberlynn was happy with that since her head was hurting too much to talk or listen to anything. But she groaned when she realized something.
“What’s wrong?” Keiko asked. “Are you gonna be sick? Want me to pull-”
“No, it’s not that. I left my bag on the bench. All my notebooks and stuff were in there.” She pressed the heel of her hand to her temple, squeezing her eyes shut. “Everything about this week sucks ass.”
Keiko chuckled a bit at his girlfriend’s cursing. He pulled out his phone when they reached a red light and texted Atticus, asking him to tell Felix that Amberlynn left her stuff at a bench, and then putting his phone away before the light turned green.
Amberlynn could’ve stared crying again with relief when she saw Keiko’s apartment building. She loved his apartment so much more than her dorm.
“Do you still feel sick?” he asked as he parked. “You’re not feverish.”
She looked at him. “How d’you know?”
He smiled before puckered his lips and tapped them with his finger, and Amberlynn realized that him kissing her forehead was not just him comforting her but also him checking how warm she was.
“Did you eat something bad today?”
Amberlynn cringed and pressed her lips at the mention of food. Her stomach flipped and she knew she was gonna puke again soon. “I dunno. My sandwich, maybe?”
Keiko squeezed her thigh before getting out of the car. Amberlynn got out as well, and Keiko came right over to her to wrap an arm around her again.
“I can walk on my own, Kei,” she said, but she really didn’t mind his touch at all.
He shrugged. “I know.” He kept his arm around her anyway.
In the elevator, Amberlynn turned to hug Keiko and burry her face in his chest. He hugged her back, enveloping her in warmth.
Once in Kei’s apartment, Amberlynn immediately went for the guest bathroom. Keiko grabbed a glass of water and some Pepto tablets from his kitchen before going after her.
Amberlynn had puked again, and Keiko was surprised there was anything still in her. She was panting over the bowl, looking damn-near translucent with how pale she was.
“Kill me,” she groaned.
Keiko kissed the side of her head. “No thanks, I’m good.”
Amberlynn didn’t puke again. Keiko spent five minutes trying to coax her to drink water and take the meds before giving up and settling for letting her just use the water to rinse out her mouth.
He flushed the toilet and helped Amberlynn back up, bringing her to his bedroom. She flopped onto the bed with a heavy sigh, and Keiko smiled at her. “You’ve been busy lately,” he said as he turned off his lights and started adjusting his blinds to leave them only slightly open.
Amberlynn shrugged, getting comfy on top of his sheets. “You too.”
He nodded, grabbing a blanket and draping it over Amberlynn before climbing onto the bed with her and getting under the blanket also, pulling her close and tangling their legs together. Her face was against his shoulder and, for the first time in days, she just let herself breathe in his scent and relax. “I missed you,” she whispered.
Keiko smiled, one of his hands coming up to undo her bun and free her curls before lightly scratching her scalp and playing with her hair. “I missed you too,” he said. “And we can make tomorrow one huge study date, all day together. I promise.”
— — —
Keiko woke up as Amberlynn rushed out from under the blanket, all but running to his bathroom.
He frowned, half-asleep, as he got up and started to get up, only to startle when he heard a heave and the sound of liquid hitting liquid. He looked at his windows and sighed, realizing that only a few hours must’ve passed because he could still see sunlight. He sighed, frowning as he made his way to the bathroom and found Amberlynn once again throwing up.
“This is a nasty case of food poisoning,” he sighed, crouching beside her and planting a comforting hand on her back. “Just let it up, baby.”
She gagged, bringing up more and more bile until there was nothing left.
Keiko got a new glass of water, and this time was more insistent about Amberlynn drinking it since she was obviously dehydrated. She did take a sip, but it came back up almost instantly, just as clear.
Keiko sighed, trying to coax her to drink again but she just shook her head, looking like she was about to cry again. “I feel horrible,” she said in a small voice that broke Keiko’s heart.
“I know,” he said, putting the glass down and hugging her. “I know.” He also knew though that she needed to get hydrated, but drinking water was clearly not an option.
He sighed. “Am, we should go to the hospital. You need fluids.”
She shook her head. “No, I don’t need to go to the hospital. I’m not that sick,” she insisted, but Keiko wasn’t convinced at all.
“You’re really dehydrated, Amber.” He got an idea then. “And I’m sure that your dads would agree with me.”
Amberlynn’s eyes widened and she scoffed, looking at Keiko. “Did you just pull the parents card on me?”
He shrugged, smirking. “Hospital, or I call your dads. Your choice.”
Amberlynn pouted, but reluctantly rinsed her mouth and nodded.
— — —
Keiko lived a bit close to the hospital. It wasn’t too long of a drive, and it was a relatively calm afternoon so a doctor came to them fairly quickly. Amberlynn didn’t get a room, but she got some curtains for privacy in the ER.
Amberlynn slept—an emesis bin by her hip—with an IV in her arm that was giving her fluids. Keiko played gently with her curls. He sent a quick text to Atticus, asking the guy to record their classes they have together tomorrow so he could still take notes while he spent the day with Amberlynn.
He was glad that all she had was some food poisoning, and that the hospital had given her some anti-emesis medicine in the IV.
Keiko left for a second to ask the nurse where the bathroom was, and when he came back from the bathroom, Amberlynn was awake and looking a bit drowsy from the medicine. She smiled when he came back through the curtains, giving him a quiet and slightly-hoarse “Hello”.
He couldn’t help but smile back. “Hey, baby. You feeling a bit better?”
She nodded. “Can we go home soon?”
He nodded. “As soon as you finish that IV, we can go. Okay?”
She nodded again, reaching for his hand. “Kiss?”
The word was so small and soft-spoken that Keiko felt his whole heart melt, and he leaned down and gave her a small kiss. “I love you so much,” Amberlynn said when he pulled away.
He grinned, kissing her forehead and whispering back, “I love you too.”
“But next time you pull the parents card on me, you’re not getting any kisses or ‘I-love-you’s for a week.”
Keiko laughed, kissing her forehead again. “Whatever you say, baby.”
Kick Off the Christmas Season at the Parker with Darren Criss
Since making a splash in the Hollywood scene over a decade ago by playing Blaine Anderson on Fox’s critically acclaimed series Glee, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Darren Criss has epitomized a vibrant artistic expression unrestricted by conventional forms or genres. On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, the star will make his way to South Florida’s Parker Playhouse for A Very Darren Crissmas, where he will perform songs from his recent holiday album of the same name. Made with Ron Flair, multi-Grammy nominee and producer of several Grammy-winning hits, A Very Darren Crissmas showcases Criss’ artistry delivering both thrilling unpredictable moments and a timeless sense of Christmas magic. From big band Christmas classics and novelty tunes to modern-day folk-pop ballads, this set has something for everyone, and OutClique had the opportunity to sit down with Criss and talk more about it.
Denny Patterson: Thanks for taking some time to chat with me, Darren! How excited are you to bring A Very Darren Crissmas to South Florida?
Darren Criss: I’m happy to bring it anywhere, man! With no discredit to South Florida, I’m just happy that I get to do it at all. The whole reason for making a holiday album, other than the fact that it was very fun to me, is to play it live. A lot of recording artists see playing music live as sort of a drag, and I’m the complete opposite. I make music to play it live, and given the ecosystem of the holiday music thing, which is performative, communal, and traditional for a lot of people, I look at my work as an entertainer like I’m in the service industry. I enjoy bringing that spirit to people in any way I can. When you make a holiday album, there is hope that you’ll get to tour and share this music live, hopefully for the rest of the foreseeable future. Let’s hope the holiday season doesn’t get canceled (laughs). So, I’m very pleased to do it anywhere, but I’m excited to come to South Florida because I haven’t been able to perform this down there yet. I did this in residency in New York last year at the Carlyle, and a mini thing on the east coast, but this tour includes parts of the Midwest and the South, so I’m thrilled.
Denny Patterson: What do you ultimately hope audiences take away from this production?
Darren Criss: I just hope it gets them in the Christmas spirit. Unfortunately, it is wrought with a lot of cliches, but they’re all positive cliches, so anything to get them in a good mood. This show is essentially the album that I made, and the album was to take people on this little journey through my musicological brain. It’s not just playing songs, it’s a bit of a holiday music TED Talk that relates to my own experience. It’s a cabaret of my life via Christmas music, so if people are interested in me, they might learn something new about me, but even more, hopefully they’ll learn something about music, the origins of these songs, and why they are significant to me. The hope of the album was to introduce people to music that they didn’t know, but hopefully feel familiar with. Or on the opposite side of that, have people experience music that they are familiar with in a different way, and that’s something I try to do across the board in my career. I try to make unfamiliar things feel accessible, and accessible things feel new and different.
Denny Patterson: Have you always wanted to do a Christmas album?
Darren Criss: Yes. If you have the ability to do something, like if you have a really good throwing arm and you watch somebody play catch or football, you’re like, okay, I’m going to do this one day, and here’s how I would do it. I’m like that with music. As a journalist, I’m sure when you read an article, you’re like, this is how I would have done it. We’re introduced to a whole lexicon of music every year, and consistently, one can’t help but go, well, here’s what I would do if I made a holiday album. So, I’ve been kind of inventorying my version of what this would be for my whole life, prior to 2021. I was always going to do this, so I made a list of songs I would do, and I knew exactly how I would do them. The hardest part of the album was whittling that list of 100 ideas down to 10-12.
Denny Patterson: Which song from the album is your absolute favorite to perform, and why?
Darren Criss: It varies depending on the audience. I don’t know, you never know what resonates with people more. I enjoy getting to introduce new things to people in general. I’m the kind of guy that if I find something I love, I really want to share it with people, and it gives me great joy to share something that hopefully has a positive reaction. But you never know what that’s going to be, so I suppose it’s the new stuff that I know they don’t know. Playing it live, hopefully there’s an opportunity for that song to maybe become part of their holiday experience or holiday music rotation. So, anything that’s a little left to center. There are a few songs on the album that I know people will not be familiar with, but while I have their attention, I love auditioning them to possibly become a more prominent fixture in their Christmas listening experience.
Denny Patterson: Do you have any plans to do a second Christmas album?
Darren Criss: Like I said, I had to whittle it down from 100, so there’s definitely `1a few albums in there. It’s just a matter of time, energy, and I tend to keep a lot of plates spinning. So, I think we’ll ride this one out for a little bit before we get to that, but sure, there’s bound to be a sequel. If you make something you like enough, in the back of your mind, you’re always ruminating what a sequel could be. It’s definitely in there somewhere!
Denny Patterson: What are the holidays typically like for you? Are you usually working, or do you try to take some time off and spend it with your family?
Darren Criss: It’s funny you say that because the irony of all this is now that I have this album, Christmas has become the busiest time of my entire year. Between a strike, the pandemic, and a lot of other stuff, I haven’t really been working to the degree that I probably would have pre-2020. For better or for worse, my work schedule hasn’t been as congested, so ironically, making this Christmas album has made what is ordinarily the time of year to unplug the most hectic. The new sort of Christmas tradition has been like, alright, I guess we’re going to be playing this album. And if I’m lucky enough to have people who want me to do it, then I’m happy to.
Denny Patterson: What is one of your absolute favorite holiday memories?
Darren Criss: I kind of talk a little bit about it on the album. My father is an excellent chef, and he had this wonderful tradition in our house, and the joke that I use is that he was somehow like a character from Dickensian England. He’s the only guy I knew growing up in San Francisco in the 90s that made a Christmas goose. I don’t think that’s happened beyond old fashioned English novels, but he threw this party that was a huge family and friends tradition called “The Goose Night,” and it was something everybody looked forward to. I always looked forward to his cooking and baking, and he was just like an unbelievable chef. I have a lot of nostalgia for those sights and smells of my father in the kitchen around the holiday.
Denny Patterson: Unfortunately, there are many LGBTQ+ people who struggle during this time of year. What advice or words of comfort can you offer them?
Darren Criss: Yes, a lot of LGBTQ+ and marginalized people are suffering during one of the happiest times of the year, but I think the flip side to that is those people do have each other. In times of joy and despair, we have our communities to hold us up. There’s an incredible ecosystem that exists, particularly within the queer community, which is something that has always been a stronghold of support for a lot of trials and tribulations. The queer community has been ravaged by so many things, but they have been so supportive of each other. There’s so many different resources, centers, and places that really do look out for members of that community, as well as communities outside that are also going through hard times during an otherwise pretty joyous time. I would say, whether you’re talking about Christmas, December, New Year’s, or anything that is symbolized by this time of year, it is pretty extraordinary, and this is the romantic in me talking, despite everything that goes on during the year, it is pretty wild that for a few days of the year across the globe, we subscribe to the idea that we should be nice to each other. Whether or not people do it is another thing, but the fact that mainstream media, movies, culture at large around the world suddenly decides to be warm, cozy, and cuddly. It’s amazing that we all decide collectively to do that, despite all the terrible things we do to each other. So, I would advise people to lean into that encouragement.
Denny Patterson: Before we wrap up, are there any other upcoming projects or anything else you’d like to mention or plug
Darren Criss: Nope! Right now it’s all about Christmas!
Archie sonic comic #5
Woooo weeee now I finished one of my bigger projects I can return to the torture that is these comics.
reminder that as much as I dislike archie sonic I am going to attempt to post as many positive as I do negative comments, these are just me logging my thoughts as I go through ALL of the comics because I like to torture myself.
Issue number 5 was released in Dec of 1993, just in time for parents to buy this issue as a last minute christmas gift to shove in there kids stocking when there kid had been begging for the sonic game for christmas. This was what they meant right?
We open up to Tails watching his succesful sonic clones in fascination. Soon he will have a fully operational baseball team. He can only pray there DNA holds together, the last clone ended up in a pod in some underground prison somewhere.
On a somewhat fitting storyline considering the olympic games recently. I do wonder if Robotnik holds a paralympics version by rendering the competeors disabled himself.
forcing you all to look at sonic's hand feet. I hate how they look like they can grip around a can of beans.
Robotnik would do numbers as a discord mod
And with sonic's nasty ass sneakers returned to him he kicks up a stink cloud, confusing this poor helpless robot who was rightfully winning.
Sonic is a cheat and a meance and I want that bitch turned into a robot.
We open with the obvious haha silly spoiled woman, she can not cook joke :) (I am joking please pl-)
comic cancelled this ant is the coolest fucking character in the series
Is it really a secret when you get your amazon prime, sorry robotzon prime packages delivered? Are the robots aware? Do they have a PO box? Or does robotnik just ignore there address like "I want to kill them fairly, doxing them is just evil."
who works at archie and is drawing buff and sexy termites, I just wanna talk.
Oh real funny.
Whoever drew this, I know what you are.
And our muscle growth bara termite is stopped by a womans cooking, point and laugh everyone. Point at how the princess can not cook.
vibes of running a discord server and having a popular tumblr blog
Another foul sin of gluttony committed by the hog.
But don't worry were in ken penders era soon, the sin will become lust.
I always assumed Sally was a chipmunk.
Where the fuck her tail?
A small child shows interest in the robots that dr robotnik creates only be told to get fucked by sonic the hedgehog.
That child grew up to be be Dr Starline.
Posted to Phineas's TikTok, August 2024
Transcript:
RANKING ALL THE RANDOM SHIRTS IN MY SHIRT DRAWER! Ohh my god, some of these are friggin' relics.
Alright, so first up we have my Talking Heads shirt. I don't wanna brag, but this is like, genuinely from the 80s. If that's something that matters to you, I guess. My mom got it at a concert and she gave it to me one time when she was getting rid of shit. I love this thing, This Must Be The Place is my favorite song. Only downside is that I try not to wear it too much 'cause I don't want to wear holes in it. Nine out of ten.
Next up, The Amazing Spider-Man Shirt. I like Spider-Man and the Amazing one, you know, the Andrew Garfield one, that's my favorite version. Sorry! I'm Gen Z. Don't come for me, Tobey Maguire stans. I've had this for, like, ten years. It doesn't fit me that well anymore but I don't wanna get rid of it. Also it has a hole in the armpit. Sorry, mom. Seven out of ten.
Okayyy, this is my Vulfpeck shirt. Vulfpeck rule. Like, end of discussion. I think I got this for Christmas this year? I like it 'cause it starts some great conversations. I mean, all Vulfpeck fans are great, so wearing it is a great way to make friends. I'll give it a nine out of ten.
Now THIS is actually an antique. Definitely doesn't fit me, but I'm also never getting rid of it. This is my 2008 Chicago White Sox American League Champions shirt. If you wanna know why that's important, just go look up the video of Brian Anderson making the game-winning catch on YouTube. You'll see. 10/10 and I don't care if I can't wear it anymore.
This is my Pride shirt! Says Love Wins Again on it. It's fine, does the trick for Pride. Could be funnier, I guess. But I like the message and all. Six out of ten.
Aaaand this is some cool shit. This is a 90s vintage Cedar Point shirt. I actually bought this on eBay 'cause I thought it was awesome. You know me, I love rollercoasters, and Cedar Point is undoubtedly the best theme park in the world. So, yeah. Ten out of ten.
Next! My Pride U shirt. Not to be confused with my Pride shirt. Anyway, yeah, this is the school I go to. Got it when I decided to commit there. It's good for, like, sports games and acapella shows when we all wear Pride U gear and stuff for dress-down shows, and I guess it's a good working out shirt. Solid, does the trick. Six out of ten.
Aaaand here's my work shirt. I mean, the fact that I associate it with work automatically docks points, but I guess it's a cool design. Four out of ten. There are worse work uniforms, I guess.
Oh shit, I don't remember this shirt. This is old. Uhh, it says BOO: The Element of Surprise. I guess it's kind of funny. Clever. Maybe I should see if my friend, Boo, wants this. Uh, five out of ten?
PANIC AT THE COSTCO! [Laughs] Oh, I friggin' love this one. Sorry, it was an impulse TikTok Shop purchase, I know. But it's funny. I think it's funny. Eight out of ten, I don't know.
Okay, this one is weird because people think it's a Fight Club shirt, but it's actually a Social Network shirt. David Fincher has more than one movie, okay? Fight Club is, like, fine, but The Social Network is obviously superior. Anyway, eight out of ten, docked two points for confusing people.
Oh wow, okay, this is from my old high school. Danville Vikings. I didn't even know I still had this thing! Uhh, two out of ten, I guess. Maybe I can wear it as a sleep shirt or a workout shirt, but I might just donate it, I dunno.
Oh god, wait, this one... I can't get into the lore here, guys. Sorry. Please don't Google CUZE. Just... don't. God, I'm gonna get so cancelled. One out of ten.
ANYWAY, I like this Garfield shirt. Garfield's my guy. Lowkey mad about that movie and the Chris Pratt of it all, but they can't take away Garfield from me. That's how they win. Anyway, uh, eight out of ten, two points deducted again for people thinking it's a reference to something it's not.
Aaaand here's the last one I found. Man, I haven't played Fallout in forever. I don't even remember where I got this, maybe Barn Con or something? Anyway, the new Fallout show is sick. I should wear this more.
Okaaaay, bye. Comment your favorite. Bye.
Some more quotes from around series 18/19/20
They seem to be more Smithy (what a surprise!) Gina, Mickey and Dan than most...!
Jack: "Since I'm coming with you I'll drive." Mickey: "There's no need for that!" Jack: "Look - I don’t wanna pull rank on you! Get your jacket!" Jeff Simpson: It feels very invasive having the contents of your wallet photocopied. Mickey: Well you'll live - unlike some!
Gina "There was a time I could drink any officer under the table. You ask the Super at Barton Street, I've still got the scars to prove it. Alright, hands up, you win, there's a good girl. Now, call us a cab." Smithy *giggles drunkenly* "You're a cab" Smithy "Ahh but you've never taken on a Dale Smith before have you?" Receptionist "Can I see your ID again please?" Smithy *annoyed* "You can take a photocopy if you want!" Debbie "In future Smithy, when I make a decision about a C.I.D case, I'd like you to give me the professional courtesy not to question it." Smithy "I wasn't questioning it. You were wrong!" Smithy (to snotty receptionist) Thanks for your help! *walks off muttering* "It's good to know the NHS is in such safe hands" *After seeing Cam and Kerry hug* Smithy: Oi Oi! *Smithy leaning against the front desk - tries to escape as Mr Lovett enters* Mr Lovett: Hey - I want to report a crime!! Smithy: *mutters* I thought you might . . . The old squirrels been digging up your lawn again have they Mr Lovett?! Mr Lovett: Don't you be flippant with me, sunshine!!
Cam: Kerry helped me out … Smithy: I bet she did! There's nothing they like more then to catch us with our defenses down, makes us easy targets. As long as she didn't take advantage… Cam: Thanks for your concern Sarge, but she didn’t. She wouldn’t… Smithy: No? Well you obviously don't know Kerry that well *walks off* Smithy: *leant against the wall holding Andrew - DS McAllister’s son's - hand* Well I don't usually go a lot for kids but er . .he's quite handsome ain't he! Debbie: Would you mind having. . . Smithy: Nah - you're alright! *Talking bout Des and Reg* Gina: Des was his hero! Smithy: Yeah - who recently tried to kill him! *Smithy and Reg are guarding Niamh's body in the Chapel Of Rest - a security guard is patrolling - they think it's Des. Smithy charges at him and pushes him against the wall, pinning his arms behind his back* Reg: LEAVE IT . . TURN AROUND . . . *Smithy makes the bloke turn round* It's the security guard Sarge! Smithy: *Innocently* Is it!? . . .*lets go* Oh - sorry mate . . . your boss said he was gonna cancel you for tonight! Security Guard: Did he? Smithy: Yeah . . still er. . . no hard feelings eh . . . *slaps him on the back* Smithy: "So the brief says to this probationer 'Was that a yes or a no officer?' and as he opened his mouth to speak he threw up all over the witness box." Gabriel: "That probationer wasn't you was it Sarge?" Smithy: "Very funny." Kerry: "Des is just upset because the kid blew him a kiss before driving off." Dale: "Awww!" Des: "Very funny!" Kerry: "Men and their emotions!" *Arches eyebrow and walks off leaving Dale glaring.* Debbie: "Anything interesting?" Mickey: "Well if you get off on checking phone records yes." Juliet: "She's in a good mood" Mickey: "She's always like that when someone tries to pull her." Juliet: "Really?" Mickey: "Yeah - last night apparently." Juliet: "Anyone we know?" Mickey: "Well with Debbie McAllister’s choice in men it could be any number of psychotics." Juliet: "Oh come on, that's a bit unfair isn’t it?" Mickey: "She's always coping off with nutters. Husband ended up shooting himself. Juliet: "Yeah - I heard something about that." Mickey: "Tom Chandler was as sick as they come. But Debbie - she couldn’t get enough of it." Juliet: "Debbie was married to Superintendent Chandler?" Mickey: "Yeah. I don't know who I felt sorry for sorry for the most till the Super shot himself. Juliet: "Wow!" Mickey: "Anyone who gets involved with Debbie McAllister needs their head testing!"
Mickey: *bout Christmas* “I’m sure you had a lovely time with your family at Christmas. But some of us used to dread that poxy tree going up every year. Do you know, all it meant to me was me old man hitting me mother, me mother hitting me old man, and poor little old me on all fours hiding behind the sofa, begging them to stop. Happy bloody Christmas eh?!” *Kid noses in a folder Smithy: "You alright there?" Kid: "Erm, I'm, looking for PC Taviner" Smithy: *Closes folder* "Well you ain't gonna find him in there are ya?" *About the kid that steals the area car* Dale: "He left bout 20 minutes ago." Des: "Didn't you think of holding him till I got back?" Dale: "What for? Visiting a police station in a built up area?"
Man: (in hospital that Mickey and Duncan are visiting) Come on - get us a nurse lads? Mickey: (walking of with Duncan) Breaks your heart, dunnit Man: I heard that!
*Kerry trying to flirt* Kerry: *Sees hole in Dale’s uniform* “Aww look, you’ve ripped your uniform” Dale: “Yeah I did it on a fence. Don’t do that, you’ll make the hole bigger” Kerry: “Got someone who can mend it for you?” Dale: “I can sew” Kerry: “Well show me when you’ve done it, I’ll give you marks out of ten” *Kerry’s continued attempts to flirt, and Smithy’s first response.* Kerry: “Work smarter not harder, isn’t that what you say Sarge?” Dale: “I don’t appreciate it being quoted back at me though” Kerry: “What even when I’m right?” Dale: “Especially when you’re right” Kerry: “You should take it as a compliment Sarge; it means I listen to you!” Dale: “Nah, look, you’ve been working really well all round lately. Focused, intelligent. It’s good to see. Kerry: “As opposed to what? Earlier?” Dale: “Accentuate the positives.” Kerry: “You what?” Dale: “I’m simply swapping compliments with you PC Young; in fact, I may go as far as taking you out for a drink tonight. What do you think?” Kerry: “Don’t you have to ask me first?” Dale: *Rolls his eyes and clears his throat* OK, “Would you, like to come out for a drink with me? And I don’t mean with half the relief this time. Just you and me” Kerry: “When?” Dale: “Tonight.” Kerry: “Love to, yeah” Smithy: "I wonder if the Inspector would think it a good idea to go behind your Sergeants back?" Kerry: "Probably not!" Kerry: "You're down here cos you fancy me" Dale: "You don’t know what you're talking about!" Kerry: "Big brave solider Smithy. The only thing he can't handle is his own emotions. You're such a cliché mate, it’s laughable!" *Kerry starts to undress* Dale: "What you doing?" Kerry: "This is what you're after isn’t it?" Dale: "You what?" Kerry: "Sex without any strings." Dale: "You're behaving like a slag!" Kerry: "Oooh I love it! You treat me like a slag. But you don’t want me to behave like one. Tell me to stop." Dale: *Eyes her warily* "You're making a fool of yourself." Kerry: "Do you want me to stop? I will if you tell me to" *She pulls Smithy's tie off as he grabs her arm. Dale: "I've told ya" *She kisses him* Kerry: "Come on Sarge" Mickey: (To Jim) You’re their FLO. Shouldn’t you be washing up or something Mickey: Maybe it was Jack the Ripper, come back to terrorise the Larkmead Shopping Centre. Smithy to Des "No, I agree with Reg. If you want a pink panda sweetheart you can have one" Des "I don't want one!" *coy* "it's not my colour..."
Smithy: (to Andrea) We're like two lost souls on a boat. Andrea: what boat's that then? Smithy: I've got no idea... listen, listen Andrea: What? Smithy: It's not the size of the vessel... Andrea: No, don't say it! Smithy: but it's the motion of the ocean
Gabriel: Wonder where we'd have gone for my stag party... Smithy: *mutters* Some dive probably... Gabriel: Well it's usually the best man's job isn't it....and that'd probably have been you. Gabriel: I got jealous some times....it was always Smithy this, and Smithy that...and I was like yeah, alright Kerry... Smithy: Alright Gabriel...
Andrea (about Gabriel): You know he's covering something up Smithy Smithy: Well, that makes two of you
Roger: That could have been the shortest stint I've ever seen. Squished like a cat on your first day. Dan: You're all heart Roger: Oh, Me? I'm famous for it.
Smithy: *to Gina* But I forgot! You don't need any help from anyone, ever, do ya! Gina: ....I haven't got the big support network to fall back on! Smithy: The irony is that you have! You just won't let them!
Jack: Well you might think he's corrupt. But I know my officers. Liz: You didn't know about his affair with Andrea Dunbar... Mickey: The point is, he's married to the prosecution barrister. Jack: So? Liz: Which makes him uniquely placed. Mickey: His marriage his rocky. His mistress is dead. Liz: He's at home, feeling sorry for himself. Mickey: McGowan comes along, offers him a nice juicy bung. Liz: Manson uses his wife to gain access to the witness, who suddenly decides to clam up on us. Jack: This is all conjecture. Liz: It's a theory. For which we need evidence. Mickey: Which is where you come in, Guv. It would make things easier round here if we could have your co-operation. There's a couple of Neil Manson's cases we'd like to look into, for evidence of corruption. *Phil knocks* Alright Phil? Phil: Hello Mickey! Jack: Just excuse me a minute will you? Phil...*takes him outside* Did you know about Neil and PC Dunbar? ....Did you? Phil: *looks awkward before nodding* What's this about? Jack: We've got the national crime squad in there making a fool out of me and this department. Liz: *walks out and looks at them* Just going to get a coffee... Jack: I'm just off to the gents, *to Phil* I think you'll find you need to go too
Mickey: Guv Neil: Hello Mickey. What're you guys up to? Jack: *quickly* Shouldn't you be enjoying your time off? You're not going to have any when you get back here.
