Hi! You've probably answered this question before so sorry for asking it again but I'd love to get into figure collecting I'm just not sure where to start, could you tell me some sites that are reliable for buying figures? Specifically, ones that ship to the UK? Thank you!
it's okay anon! :)
first of all i'd be a little careful with local figure stores, secondhand figures (like on marketplace apps) and ebay when you're new to the hobby since it can be difficult to spot bootlegs and overpricing!
i personally chose my go-to site by going through all of the partner stores on myfigurecollection, comparing prices and shipping and then reading reviews for the cheapest options.
i use nin-nin game, their reputation is not perfect (main complaint is that their customer service is said to be not great) but since it's by far the cheapest site for me i decided to take the risk and i haven't had issues with them so far.
i'm not familiar with any local uk sites (except for forbidden planet but i see they seem to overprice) but some other very popular figure sellers are amiami, solaris japan, good smile company's own website, crunchyroll store and hobby search.
i didn't go super into detail so please do feel free to ask if you need any more help, i genuinely don't mind at all! :)

♣︎ 2 MONTHS LATER
"No, stop. Yunho." You almost whine when you hear Yunho sigh on the other line.
"I'm sorry, my girlfriend typically calls me babe."
"No, you're not listening to me. I told you it was fine, I promise."
"Baby, I'm not missing your competition." He says lowly, sitting in the chair while him and his mom wait for her doctor to come in. Your competition fell on the weekend Yunho went home, his mom's important check-in with her primary care physician being scheduled on the same Saturday. He had originally scheduled her check-in for the week, but had to reschedule and open up clinic hours on Saturday due to an emergency that arose at home. Yunho already felt guilty enough that he wouldn't be able to accompany her during the week, so when the news broke that it had been rescheduled for the weekend, Yunho immediately drove home.
And you, being the sweetest and most understanding, hugged him tightly and wished them well. Even though at the bottom of his heart, he also felt guilty for leaving you knowing what the weekend held.
You reassured him over and over again that he didn't need to drive all the way back just to see you, but Yunho couldn't take no for an answer. The appointment was early on, and he knew he'd make it just a bit into the start of the competition. He didn't care if it'd tire him.
He just wanted to be there, too.
"I don't care if you do. Your mom needs you the most. My competition is just a competition."
"I know how much this means to you, though."
"There will be more, k? I promise there will be more opportunities for you to cheer me on." He sighs.
"Including this one."
"You're so stubborn." You half-heartedly scold him with a chuckle. "Go. Be with your mom. Please."
"I'll see you in a bit."
"Jeong Yunho." You give off a small groan, making him laugh.
"I love you." He says all loud and proud, making his mom silently chuckle off to the side while her son continues to show off his affection.
"Yeah, love you too. Even though, you don't listen to me!" You scold once more before hanging up.
"Ah, she's a piece of work." He mutters to himself as he does a head tilt.
"She's cute." His mom says, sitting on the chair in front of him, making Yunho chuckle.
"Hm, equally cute and a handful." Yunho leans onto his knees. "You're still okay with coming to her competition, right?"
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." She gives Yunho a sweet smile. "I hope she doesn't mind that we'll be there?"
"Of course not. She'd be happy to see you and auntie."
"Is her family going to be there, too?" He nods.
"You'll finally meet them." She laughs.
"I'm sure they're just as lovely as her."
At this point, the doctor knocks on the door a few times to signal his entrance before walking in, a bright smile on his face as he greets the both of them. The check-up carries on for close to an hour, where Yunho is listening attentively to make sure he's taking note of what to do to keep his mom healthy and comfortable. Towards the end though, he's satisfied with how everything turns out and he's happy to know his mom is doing well and is stable.
On the way out, he holds her by the arm, going over the visit and proudly reassuring his mom that she was doing great with taking care of herself and her health. He helps her into the car and makes sure she's buckled in before walking over to the driver's side and rushing over to the house to pick up his aunt. Once everyone is in the car and ready to head to the competition, Yunho makes a quick stop at a floral shop to buy you a bouquet. He shyly rolls his eyes and blushes when his mom and aunt tease him about it, his mom saying she rose him well and that you'd love the flowers.
When Yunho arrives, he sees a few people still trailing into the venue and it eases his mind a bit that he's not the only one walking in late. He gets lucky with parking in the main lot next door, careful to keep up a good pace that both his mom and aunt are able to work with. Getting inside, the competition has already started [as expected], but the group performing isn't one he's familiar with. Yunho holds onto the huge bouquet of flowers he bought, setting it onto his lap when they settle in a few open seats near the middle. He lets out a breath of relief when he quickly scans the program and sees that your group isn't up until later.
Overall, it's a pretty lively event and everyone in the crowd is cheering and roaring no matter what the occasion is on stage. It isn't a huge competition, and a lot of the groups are smaller than your own dance group; but everyone seems to be happy on stage and enjoying themselves. Yunho thinks that's all that really matters, and it's nice for people who have the same passion to get together for some fun, friendly competition.
Plus, he's enjoying himself because his aunt and his mom are— he truthfully was afraid it would be too loud or chaotic for them, but he feels relieved and a bit more comfortable. Everything moves so, so fast that the one moment he blinks, he finds the lights dimming before shining onto familiar faces.
He sees your familiar figure. Your friends.
He feels his heart beating out of his chest, the adrenaline rushing through his veins. He knows you and your friends will kill it out there and he's excited for the crowd to see what you have in store. He finds himself with a major death grip on the arm rests because he feels himself wanting to get up and cheer you on in the middle of the aisle [regardless of how embarrassing that may be, he doesn't really care]. But, he manages to stay still; though his eyes glow and are full of admiration.
He is utterly enamored by you, and Yunho's mom and aunt think it's the sweetest thing.
You gracefully and powerfully move across the stage and Yunho didn't know it was possible to fall in love with you even more. He finds himself cheering loudly, hoping you can hear him and see him from the stage, hoping you know he's there and will always be there to support you through anything. Because he wants to, and he loves seeing you happy doing what you love doing. When the piece finally ends, the crowd is incredibly hyped and Yunho immediately shoots up to stand and clap, flowers now resting on his mom's lap for safety measures.
"She's so good! They all are! They deserve to win this!" His aunt leans over to look at him.
"I know. They do." He smiles from ear to ear.
"Look at your ears, they're so red." His mom gently tugs on his ear. "You're so in love." She teases.
"And what about it?" He pouts and whines. "I just like showing her off. She's good everything she does, and I want her to know that." Lord knows Seonghwa didn't put in any effort to make you feel valued and reassured. He's not entirely sure how long you've been feeling that way, how long you've doubted yourself— but, as long as he's around, he'll make sure you never feel that way again. How could anyone ever compare to you?
"As you should." She smiles at him.
The rest of the show goes on just as lively and entertaining as it started, with a small break before winners are announced. Yunho is bouncing his leg in anticipation, eager to hear the results from the panel. It doesn't come as a surprise though when he hears two other groups winning second and third place because he knows. He just knows.
And he's right.
When the MC announces your group name for first place, Yunho swears he almost loses his voice from cheering. He sees you and your friends with happy tears streaming down your cheeks, and even though he believed everyone had a fair chance at winning today, you all truly deserved it. He knows how late you've stayed in the studio working on choreography, scraping an entire piece just to replace it with something 'better' even if it stressed you out doing so. There was no other group that showed the same dedication and passion as you and your friends, and he really, really wanted this for you all more than anything.
He can't wait to see you and hug you.
Kiss you.
old you.
Just be with you.
When the event ends, he's following behind his mom and aunt, keeping eyes on them to make sure they don't get lost in the crowd. He runs into your family exiting through the next set of double doors on his left and waves. Amidst the crowd chaos, he manages to say hi to your family and give them hugs before introducing his mom and his aunt— excusing himself shortly afterwards so he can run to the bathroom and be back before heading outside. It's a bit of a line, but Yunho waits patiently so he doesn't have to run off while he's with you. When he's done and making his way back outside, he still has to navigate through the crowds to get to your family and his family hanging out in an open area; almost running into another person just as he's about to make it over to the spot.
"Y-Yunho?" She almost comes face to face with his chest when she abruptly turns, trying to navigate her way through the crowd.
"Hayun?"
"Hey, nice to see you here?" She questions, unsure what Yunho would be doing here. It's been awhile, but from what she remembered, he was never into these things. She does a once-over and gives him a tiny smile, slightly ogling at how good he looks after all these years. He is glowing.
"Uh, yeah." He isn't really sure what to say since last time, she acted weird about seeing him. Maybe she had no choice but to greet him; she damn near ran straight into this chest. Still. It's a bit awkward, but it's nice to see she's at least well. "What're you doing here?"
"Well, I was on break, I'm leaving late tonight. My cousin performed with one of the groups. I don't know if you remember her, Soojin?" He nods.
"I do remember her. I guess she's grown well? I clearly didn't recognize her on the stage." She chuckles before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"What're you doing here?"
"My girlfriend competed, too. Her family's here, my family. She was in the group that placed first." He looks over his shoulder before looking back down at her.
"Oh, that's sweet."
"Yeah." He clears his throat. "Anyway, I hope everything's been good with you. I hope you have a safe flight back, too."
"Thanks, and same." She nods. "I hope your mom and aunt are okay."
"They are. Thanks. Should probably get back to them." He gives off a small smile and a curt nod before turning on his heel to find his family, your family and everyone else. He sees Chaery and Seungmin come out from the side door before you and Soobin follow. He can see you searching high and low for him and it makes his heart flip.
"Yunho!" You squeal when you finally find him in the sea of people. You instantly run over, jumping into his arms while he holds onto you tightly.
"There she is." He says. "Hi baby." He says against your head. Hayun smiles to herself when she sees the moment you two share, quickly reminiscing about the times her and Yunho had in the past. But, in the end, she's happy that he's found someone and that he's genuinely happy. Yunho deserved it.
"Hi." You giggle, pulling back slightly to kiss him on the lips.
"You did amazing, love." He gently puts you down.
"Did I?! Do these look like the steps of a first place winner?" You do a silly little dance, making him laugh before pulling you for another kiss.
"Yeah, they do. Steps from the best, actually." You laugh and playfully pinch his arm.
"Goodjob, Y/N! You did great up there!" His mom and aunt say, followed by your family. You greet all of them one by one, giving them hugs and thanking them for coming— especially Yunho's mom and aunt for tagging along. It seems that your family and his were already kicking it off, your dad offering for them to join dinner along with Chaery, Soobin and Seungmin's family.
"Yes, please come to dinner with us!" You squeeze his mom's hand with a smile. She nods and pulls you in for another hug, the four of you walking alongside each other while your family, Chaery's, Soobin's and Seungmin's walked ahead. You and his mom talk a bit about your dance journey as you walk along before you get into the car with Soobin, Seungmin and Chaery; letting everyone know you'll meet them at the restaurant nearby.
You assume most of your group will end up at the same restaurant, and it ends up being true for the most part. Once the four of you unload and start heading inside, you run into Yeonjun and Jongho with their families. The restaurant ends up escorting everyone to the back area where most of the tables are available for bigger groups, and instantly gets to work on providing drinks and small appetizers for everyone to enjoy while looking at the menu. On your left is Chaery, while Yunho is on your right; the both of them cracking jokes with each other while the families order the main courses for tonight.
"Yuyu, how do you feel about graduation coming up?"
"I don't know. Good, for the most part."
"Dude, it's gonna be so different! Have you already applied to internships and jobs?"
"Yeah, I have. Got a few interviews coming up in the next few weeks."
"Good shit!" Chaery claps. "Your man is gonna be so prepared for the world." She nudges you on the side, making you giggle.
"I know, right?"
"Seriously, it's nothing. I don't wanna have a huge gap. I just wanna get into it, I guess."
"That's really good, though. Do you plan to have a party or anything?" He cocks a brow up and points at himself.
"Me?"
"Yes!"
"No, god no." Yunho laughs. "I'm very much good off of a party."
"What if we threw you one at the apartment? Or took you out to the club?!"
"No, don't do that. I promise, I'm good."
"Babe, we're gonna have to at least do dinner or something." He looks down at you with a fond smile before placing a chaste kiss to the side of your head.
"If you want."
"It's your graduation!" You laugh.
"Yeah, and quite frankly, I'd rather much just spend the night with you doing other things." He says lowly near your ear, causing the heat to rise to your cheeks while you subtly nibble on your bottom lip.
"Cute, dinner sounds nice and cozy." Chaery adds. "But since you don't plan to celebrate with a party—" She leans over to look at her parents. "Mom, dad, Yunho's graduating soon! Can we order some dessert?"
"That's a good idea. Should we order some dessert to celebrate early?" Yunho's ears turn red as he shakes his head and refuses.
"No, no! It's okay! We don't have to—"
"Yeah, let's order some dessert!" Your dad agrees, along with the rest of the table. Your dad calls over the waitress to add dessert to the order for the entire table, reassuring Yunho's mom and aunt that they didn't need to worry about dinner [or dessert] tonight.
"Thank you." He says shyly.
"So, Yunho. Have you been getting ready for graduation and everything?" Yunho nods, essentially telling your family [and everyone else] what he told Chaery and how he just wants to get right into working after graduation. Mainly, Yunho wants to do this for his mom and aunt, but also for you. Because life includes you now; all about you.
Once the food arrives, everyone takes turns and rotates the dishes amongst each other before setting it down in the middle of the table for seconds and so on. Yunho doesn't even help himself first and decides to serve you some food before tending to himself. Dinner goes on happily, with everyone in good spirits and conversing in between bites about school and upcoming summer plans. Seungmin's dad mentions camping and how he wants to coordinate something for the group this summer, knowing the perfect campsite about 3 hours away that resides right by a lake. He invites Yunho, his mom and his aunt, reassuring them that they'd enjoy it over there, too.
Yunho slightly nudges you and smiles while drinking his water, leaning closer to you just as he sets the glass back down.
"Any other plans for the summer, love?"
"Not that I know of. Maybe I'll get myself a little summer job, too.
"Mm, maybe I can help fill the rest of your schedule up? If you're okay with that?"
"If you won't be too busy working!"
"I won't be. I'll always make time for you, you know that, right?" He gives you a soft look. "Plus, while we still have the time open, I wanna plan something and take you somewhere."
"Like where?" He shrugs.
"Somewhere where we can't drive to."
"Oh, like an actual trip-trip?!"
"Yup."
"Eep, where!" You squeal and he chuckles.
"I'll figure it out. Leave it up to me, hm?"
"I'm actually so lucky, it's insane." Yunho laughs a little louder at the compliment while shaking his head, digging into the last bits of his food.
"I feel the same. But, I really just wanna spend as much time with you as I can."
"Sounds like it'll be a good summer for us." You eat up the rest of your food before setting your plate aside nicely. "Babe, are you sure you're okay to drive after? Do you want me to come, or do you want me to drive your mom and aunt back?"
"I would never in a million years let you drive alone like that."
"But, you're tired." You pout.
"Mm, all worth it though. Cause we got to see you guys win, plus I get cake." You laugh.
"I knew you wanted the cake." He playfully shushes you. "I can come along, though!"
"No. Absolutely not."
"Why not?" You whine. "Just tell me you don't want me around, jeez." He smirks.
"That's never the case. I just know you'll be tired and I want you to rest. Promise I'll be good, okay?"
"Can I wait for you at your spot, then?"
"Of course you can. Yeo's gonna be home by the time we get back."
"Perfect, I'll bother him 'till you come." He gives you another big smile just as the dessert makes its way to the table. Everyone loudly cheers for the group's win today, along with congratulating Yunho for graduation coming up. You look at him in pure admiration when he blushes and respectfully thanks everyone for the cake and greetings.
And it's that moment when you catch the sparkle in his eyes, the glow, the warmth radiating from him. It's not that Yunho didn't have all these things in the beginning; they were there, just dim. Not as bright, not as warm. Over time, he's grown and blossomed into one of the most important people in your life, someone everyone clearly adored and cherished.
That might've been the moment that changed the trajectory of everything for you two because it finally clicked that he was who you wanted— back then, now, in the future.
You love Yunho; really, really love Yunho.
Everything about him brings pure love, genuine happiness and safety. Three important factors that you longed for in a relationship, but were never familiar with until Yunho came around.
Tumblr media
The rest of dinner goes on well, with everyone fighting to pay the bill before it eventually settles between your family and Chaery's. Everyone walks alongside of each other before parting to their own cars and preparing to make their journey back home. Before you part ways with Yunho, his mom and aunt, you give them a big, tight hug before giving Yunho a quick peck on the lips. You look him dead in the eye and make him promise that he'd be absolutely okay to drive back and forth, and that he'd stay behind if he really couldn't make it back. He gives you a smug smirk, making you pinch him on the arm before bidding your last farewell to his family. You follow suit with your own family, your dad hopping into his car while your mom and sister drove together.
The ride back home is fairly calm, with Soobin in the driver's seat. There's the occasional bickering between Seungmin and Chaery, but otherwise, everyone is busy recounting the day and discussing the different groups and their pieces. Surprisingly, you're all still energetic throughout the entire ride; not one person complaining about being tired or wanting to catch up on sleep.
It does change once you finally arrive home and set your things aside, immediately putting the flowers into a free vase with some water. Soobin plops onto the couch face down as he claims he's exhausted from all the driving, while Seungmin sits on the floor beside him. You hurry into the bathroom and take a quick shower so Chaery can follow and get comfortable. You throw on some comfortable clothes and unpack your things and clean up around your area of the room before heading over to Yunho and Yeosang's for the evening. You say your goodnight's to your roommates before walking over, your Uggs making a loud noise as you drag them across the concrete. When you arrive at the unit, the kitchen lights are on, but you can barely hear a peep through the other side of the door. You knock a few times before Yeosang is coming to the door in his tank top and sweats.
"Hey hey!"
"Oh, hey! I heard you placed first! Congrats!" Yeosang pulls you into a hug before stepping aside to let you in. "Where's your boyfriend?"
"He's dropping off his mom and aunt, then he'll come back."
"They came to the competition, too?"
"Yeah, they did!" You respond as you walk into Yunho's room, with Yeo following and leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed tightly against his chest.
"Damn, what a drive. Sorry I couldn't make it. It was my baby cousin's birthday party."
"No, it's okay! You didn't miss much anyway."
"I missed my friends placing first, so yeah." You give him a tiny smile and shake your head.
"There's still next year. You have plenty of other opportunities to come when you aren't busy!"
"You're right."
"If you really wanna make up for it though, you can keep me company while I wait for Yunho." He laughs and nods.
"Yeah, of course. What do you have in mind?" He follows you out to the living room.
"I don't know. Maybe we can just watch a random movie? He'll be back by the time it's over, hopefully."
"Gotta watch a long one. Like Lord of the Rings or something. Star Wars. Avengers: Endgame."
"Ou, I'm down for some Avengers."
"Cool." You lay on the couch with the blanket wrapped around you while Yeosang sits on the floor, navigating through the movies before he lands on the Avengers. The both of you quietly begin the movie, with Yeosang reciting very random facts about the Avengers. You respond with follow-up questions, allowing Yeosang to do a deep dive. It's not until about an hour and a half in that you feel the exhaustion hitting you; eyes and body suddenly feeling heavy.
"You get what I'm saying right?" Yeosang asks, but doesn't receive a response. "Y/N?" He calls for you, only to turn over his shoulder and see you fast asleep. He chuckles to himself before returning his attention to the TV, turning down the volume so that it isn't too loud for you.
In the next 45 minutes, Yunho quietly walks into the apartment, seeing you fast asleep on the couch while Yeosang continues to watch TV on the floor— the movie no longer on. He smirks at Yunho before turning back to check on you, a silent chuckle leaving his lips.
"She's been asleep?" Yunho whispers while crouching to your level.
"Yeah, she fell asleep a bit ago. Didn't realize until I asked her a question about the movie we were watching and I didn't get a response." Yunho quietly laughs a bit. "I didn't wanna just leave her here, though."
"I'll bring her in. Thanks for keeping her company."
"You must be exhausted with all the back and forth driving today."
"Fuck yeah, I am. But, as long as my mom's happy and she's happy." Yunho smiles at you, brushing the hair away from your face.
"Alright, well, I'm good off of this show." Yunho turns to the TV seeing it randomly stationed a cooking show.
"Okay Chef Boyardee." Yeosang snorts before gently tapping the couch and standing.
"Gotta do better before we get into the real world, am I right?" He salutes. "I'm off." Yunho bids him farewell before returning his attention to you. You haven't budged, and Yunho can tell how exhausted you are by the way your lips poke out into a pout, soft snores in between each breath.
"Baby. I'm gonna carry you to the bed, okay?" He whispers. You let out a sound that makes Yunho giggle to himself before he scoops you up into his arms and holds you tightly.
"I could've walked." You suddenly blurt out.
"Dunno cutie, you were pretty knocked out." He smiles at you. "It's okay. You had a long day."
"So did you."
"I don't care about me, I care about you." He chuckles, gently laying you down on the bed. "I need to take a shower, I'll be back." You quietly nod and turn to your side, too exhausted to fight for him to stay and be needy. He heads to the shower and lets the hot water cascade down his body, feeling the exhaustion finally catch up to him. Although he tends to think he's pretty selfless, he didn't think he'd be driving from home to catch a performance, dropping his family off then driving back to the apartment all in a day. But, he couldn't care less because he wanted to do this for you, and he wanted to see you happy. There's nothing that satisfies Yunho more than seeing you smile.
He lets out a heavy sigh when he hops out and runs the towel through his wet hair, turning on the hair dryer to dry it off completely. He gets himself ready for bed, walking out in a plain shirt and pajama bottoms to finally slip in next to you. You instantly turn and throw your arm over him the moment you feel the bed dip, Yunho chuckling to himself when he pulls you close.
"Yuyu."
"Mhm sleepyhead?"
"You're graduating soon."
"I am."
"I'm proud of you."
"Thank you. I gotta say I'm proud of me, too." You both laugh a bit.
"What's gonna happen with us?"
"Nothing." He smiles. "I'll still be here. You'll still be here. I'll find myself a good job and hope I'll be able to provide for you more."
"You already give me a lot." You softly say, eyes still closed as you lay on his chest.
"Not enough."
"Hm." You hum. "You're enough."
"I appreciate that, love. But, you really do deserve the world and I'm trying to get you that, okay? Let me." You giggle.
"You're the best."
"Baby?"
"Yes?"
"You see us being together for a long time, right?" He asks, because even though he's confident in your relationship, he still likes to be reassured. Because god, does he truly see his life with you. It hasn't been long but there is not one bone in his body that makes him think otherwise. He wants to build with you, grow with you, be with you all the time. He wants nothing but you, and he's so, so sure of it.
"Of course."
"Even living together in the future and doing all that crazy stuff grownups do?" You laugh.
"Yes."
"Okay." He kisses your forehead.
"Do you want that with me, Yunho?"
"Yeah. I do, Y/N." You sleepily smile against him and hug him tighter, not wanting to let him go.
"I like that." He leaves a soft, feathery kiss against your lips before holding you closer than he ever could, shutting his own eyes to finally get some sleep.

Questions About Beta Readers
Anonymous asked: I want to have beta/sensitivity readers look my story over when it's finished, but I have questions:
[Ask edited for length]
Question #1 - How many beta readers do people usually get? I want to make sure I have a decent sample size of people to look the story over and make sure it makes sense, check for plot holes, etc.
It really depends. Most people do between 2 and 5. Some people go as high as 7 or 8. It also depends on whether you do one round of betas or two.
Question #2 - I was thinking of outlining exactly what I do and do not want before I send it to them. For example, "I want to know what you thought of the plot and whether or not it was easy to follow." Would that kind of thing be okay?
Yep! That's fine and it's actually standard protocol to send along specific questions or guidelines as far as what you're looking for.
Question #3 - Do beta readers also look at scripts, or just novels? My story isn't going to be in a "normal" novel format since it's the script for a comic. Would they still review something in that format, or do I have to find a specific type of beta reader?
You will need to find beta readers specifically for a comic script, but there are lots of people who will do that.
Question #4 - How many sensitivity readers do I need, and how do I know which one I should listen to if they give me conflicting opinions? I'm just worried one will go, "That's problematic and awful, remove it" and the second will go, "That's totally fine, leave it in". Would I need a third one as a tie-breaker?
Sensitivity readers have specific areas of expertise. While some may have multiple areas of expertise, no sensitivity readers specialize in all things. So, the number of sensitivity readers you need depends on how many things you need vetted, and how many it takes to cover it all. For example, let's say you have a Chinese-American character who is bipolar. And let's say their love interest is transmasc and uses a wheelchair. If you are not yourself Chinese-American, bipolar, transmasc, or someone who uses a wheelchair, then you would need sensitivity readers to cover all of those areas. In other words, as many as four, but potentially fewer if you find some who do happen to cover more than one necessary area of expertise.
While there may be some overlap in areas of expertise (like, two sensitivity readers who both specialize in wheelchair use on top of whatever specialty you specifically hired them for), it's pretty unlikely you'll run into conflicting opinions as long as you hire qualified sensitivity readers. In other words, people who have a business where they provide sensitivity reading as a service. This is important because part of their expertise is knowing the nuances of their specialty areas, and being able to separate personal preference from broader guidelines. This cuts down on conflicting opinions, too, when you have experts who overlap.
On the off-chance that you did have two experts with overlapping specialties who gave you conflicting opinions, I think you can ask questions (using the conflicting opinion as a prompt) to get a better understanding of why the person has that position. If you do that with both experts, this may give you enough data to decide which one has the opinion that's more likely to be widely shared. You may also be able to do research on your own to further understand the conflicting opinions.
I hope that helps!

Unspoken Rizz.
Type: Drabble, Oneshot
Pairing: Isagi Yoichi/M! Reader
Summary: Isagi was never the type to get frustrated over petty shit talk, but you prove to be a special kind of exception.
Warnings: Degenerate Flirting, One-Sided Dislike, Enemies to ???, Unresolved Tension, gay bitches
Word Count: 1,890
A/N: theyre so LAME 🫥🫥🫥
*Du bist ein BlĂśdian - you're an idiot
"Only one goal against the U-20? You'd think the superstar on the rise would be better, but he's barely keeping up." Isagi overhears you talking about him to a less notable player of Bastard MĂźnchen.
Recently, Isagi kept seeing and hearing more of you. When first introduced, you didn't speak a word of importance and value to him, just the simple greetings with the regular dose of stiffness and unfamiliarity he had expected and returned.
Then like a switch that's been flipped, one morning you slap him in the face with headstrong, criticizing and bitter comments. He was confused, baffled and a little speechless to say at the very least.
You two clash gazes and your smile impossibly widens, while he pinches his eyebrows together. He decides to be the better man and just nods his head politely while looking away from you.
Isagi isn't one to pick fights. He isn't the type to argue with people unless he was bitten without provocation first, but other than that, Isagi doesn't actively seek butting heads with others for whatever reason, nor does he enjoy it.
So, he couldn't help but allow your little snide remark to get under his skin and boil his blood slowly from within him.
He wouldn't admit it, over his dead body would he confess something as pathetic as that, but it did make him look back on the game and think about whether or not he could have done something more, and truthfully, he really could have. But he was still proud of his game and hearing someone diminish his hard work made him angry.
He shouldn't be, he was surrounded by assholes. Both figuratively and literally. Isagi should know better, you were no different than players like Kaiser, Rin, Barou... hell even Karasu. The same shit-eating grin, sly eyes and pompous attitude.
And with that set in stone, he let it go. Isagi continued on with his training, not thinking about you and that smug mug and smart mouth of yours.
★
Isagi was reviewing the latest rankings. Noa had updated everyone's current standing and Isagi smiled when he checked his status, he was higher up now! He was slowly climbing up the rankings and surpassing in numbers even regulars from Bastard MĂźnchen.
"Your physicals are still trash. Go hit the gym," amid his ignorant bliss, your voice booms directly in his ear. Your breath fans his neck, sending shivers down his spine. He whips his head around so quick he was pretty sure even you could hear the slight cracking noise.
He frowns and grits his teeth and almost froths at the mouth upon noticing how pleased you seemed with his reaction. "Shut the fuck up."
In one way or another, you remind him of a vulture. Preying and biding your time to devour him, but perhaps he's giving you way too much credit with just this analogy alone.
You roll your eyes, your smirk never once falling off. "Brains alone won't get you anywhere, go run the treadmill and lift some weights." You advise, all the while ill-mannered.
"We'll see about that. I'll beat you," Isagi replies confidently. He stands his ground firmly, staring into your eyes.
You whistle, unimpressed. Bemusedly, you say, "That was lame, did you make that up on the spot or have you been practicing it for a while now?" It's not exactly a question, he knows that perfectly well, but Isagi still feels compelled to answer, to have the last word.
"Trying to act cool and unbothered isn't the way to win a confrontation, [Last Name]."
You chuckle and it feels entirely out of place coming from you. "What movie on Earth did you escape from? Are you delusional or is that just another one of these group symptoms that Blue Lock gives you?"
Isagi sighs, you were hopeless. He can't deny the fact that you were good, but he can't understand why you only spoke to him and him alone in that patronizing way. He's seen how you behave around Kaiser, Ness and the other less talented players on the team and they've never once appeared displeased to his degree.
"What's wrong with you?" Isagi asks out of the blue, voice not exasperated, just inquisitive.
You blink, the corners of your mouth twisting downwards for a split second. As if self-conscious of frowning around him, you immediately smile. "What's wrong with me are those ugly cleats you got on."
"But we're wearing the same exact pair."
"Look how you're copying my style, though. That's crazy, though."
Isagi sucks in a breath, walks around you and resumes his daily routine. Meanwhile you continue to stare at him, amused at the silent treatment you were receiving. You could deal with the cold shoulder, makes it more fun.
"You're never gonna be anything." You claim. Isagi turns on his heels and exits the room. You quickly deflate.
Perhaps you couldn't deal with the cold shoulder as well as you thought you could.
★
Isagi wipes his sweat with a towel, sitting his ass on the sidelines, slumping all over the wall. He pants, eyes getting droopy. He was about ready to doze off.
Isagi did extra the exercises in his usual work-out regime. Embarrassing as it is, he did take your suggestion to consideration and decided to run with it. His legs were killing him and his arms felt like falling off, but he thought that it wasn't a waste of his time.
He battled the urge to fall asleep in the in-door gym, unaware of the way you drank up the sight of him from where you stood, all too pleased to see him listening to you in spite of everything that was said and done.
Kaiser glances at you briefly, then clicks his tongue with his usual arrogant expression. Like your subliminal signs of affection were inconveniencing him despite your lack of vocalization.
"When are you ever gonna learn? You make yourself far too obvious," he chastises you with a holier-than-thou voice.
"You think so?" you question, rubbing the back of your head sheepishly.
Kaiser focuses on Isagi's form and discerns the nasty drool escaping his mouth before studying your own awky figure. "Never mind that, he's got shit for brains up in that skull. You aren't any better, either."
Ness chimes in passive-aggressively, "I'd still give him the benefit of the doubt."
"Wow, thanks guys. Love you so much." You reply sarcastically in turn.
Kaiser glares and raises a finger, "Don't say that to me, ever again. You'll make me hurl on the spot." Ness claps at that and you simply marvel at the dick riding.
★
Your shadow looms over Isagi, who refuses to acknowledge you. He preoccupies himself with his half-empty bowl instead, wondering how long you're going to stick next to him, leering down like you're a supreme being and he's a measly flea.
You pull the chair right beside him, plopping your bottom with the least bit of grace he's ever seen. He closes his eyes, shoving a spoonful of food in his mouth as a distraction.
You chortle, splitting a loaf of bread apart and dropping it in your soup. Isagi gags at your method. "Don't look at me like that. It's not like I'm feeding myself steroids."
"You'll need them to beat me." Isagi bites back at you even if you easily spot the rice grains sticking to his nostrils and the sauce stain on his chin.
"I don't need that shit to kick your ass."
"We can take it there."
"We've already taken it there. Next game, I'll humiliate you live in front of all these dumbasses tuning in and you won't have a shred of pride and dignity left in you." You respond, but for some reason Isagi can't feel the characteristic hostility, instead there was a rhythmic lilt to your tone.
"You love talking, don't you," Isagi grunts, but he can't find it in himself to frown unlike before. He was getting a bit excited, you're no weakling and the thought of competing against you made him unable to sit still. He wanted to be standing on the field in this very moment, but he nevertheless had to wait.
You stay silent after that, but he could tell you weren't backing down just because of what he had retorted. You squint your eyes and mirth settles once more on your features, "Unfortunately for you, I've always been a blabbermouth."
★
You contemplate drowning yourself in the hot springs. The water is warm, but your shame has your blood running cold.
You have lost against Isagi. Even if for the most part you didn't mean half the things you said, you still had some pride. And yet what little confidence you had left was shattered in mere seconds.
You should have been faster, you should have read the situation first and you should have calculated better. You should have scored that goal, but you ended up as a piece of shit decoy for Isagi, who reveled in his victory.
You look up at the ceiling, blinding yourself. Your ears were getting filled with gross butt water and you felt like a torn-up plastic bag. "I suck hairy ass cheeks, man. Fuuuuuuckk."
"You're not wrong." You pause in your fit, eyes saucers wide as you stare like a deer in headlights. You were suddenly embarrassed, like you were caught doing something appalling.
You dip your head under water and Isagi observes the small bubbles emerging on the surface. "Stop that, [Last Name]! Are you a child to be upset over something dumb like that?" He scolds you and you think that might have been your breaking point.
"Shut up! You're one to talk, you big penis! Weren't you the one sending death threats to Gingerhead via real life? I'm allowed to cry! Real men cry!" You manage out between green snot and you divulge that you were ugliest when you wail.
Isagi parts his mouth, rendered speechless. Not so much because he felt guilty, but because being put so abruptly in such a weird situation made his mind go blank. He couldn't figure out what to do or say to comfort you. Seeing you cry like a baby prompted him to at least try and pacify you a tiny bit. That's what nice people do, right?
"Hey," He reaches out to you, his hand grabbing at your arm to pull you out of the hot spring. You grip his forearm out of the blue, bringing him down, large splashes of water escaping the confines of the small pool. "What the fuck?!"
You cling to his back, semi-strangling him. "Do you really think I'll cry cause of one loss? Especially in front of you? Don't make me laugh! You're not that special. Du bist ein BlĂśdian, BlĂśdian, BlĂśdian." You sneer even if he can't see. Well, you really did cry, but you somehow played it off. You didn't know if he believed you or not, but it's not like it mattered.
"To think I actually felt bad for you..." Isagi's lips twitch into a ghost of a smile.
"Don't pity me!"
"You're a sad man, [Last Name]."
"Eat my horseshit."
At the end of the day, Isagi couldn't stand you. But that didn't mean he couldn't stomach you. You were still annoying as hell, though.

Call of Artemis - Love Languages
Pairing: Airi Amano, Shano Himegami, Toka Takao, Mana Kase x female reader (duh)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Airi – Her love language is quality time. Airi is highly pleased by exploring different parts of the city with you, eating together, relaxing at home together and just enjoying life together. Airi likes to learn new things about you and to share more about herself with you. Her favorite places to go with you are underrated coffee shops. She likes to learn how they run their businesses and what inspires her to help Café Vinyl grow. You on the other hand like to dry the different blends. You like to give Airi your review on different coffees and teas. When you can, you like to come and do some computer work in Café Vinyl. Airi comes over to bring you your favorite blend “Employee discount~” You wait patiently for Airi’s shift to end and you commute home together.
Tumblr media
Mana – Her love language is physical touch. She loves to be all up on you, hugging you or holding your hand whenever she can. She even attempts to get you to kiss in public because she also likes to show others that you’re hers. Giving and receiving physical touch is very important for her. She lets you accompany her on a camping trip, which she usually takes alone. Making it a point to show that she loves you, she cuddles close to you at nighttime. Listening to the crackling of the campfire, Mana leans in close to you. Resting her head on your shoulder, she looks into your eyes, and you go in for a kiss. She is quite pleased but wants more in the tent~ “Where else do you wanna kiss me, huh?” Mana’s violet eyes draw you in, almost making it impossible not to touch her.
Tumblr media
Shano – Her love language is acts of service. It's no secret that Shano is a workaholic. Because of this, she often needs help with things around the house and with things in her personal life. You make it a point to make sure that you double check her schedules to make sure that everything is in order. When she has the time, she also likes to do things for you too. When she’s had a stressful day, she likes to come home and decompress. There she will find a meal already made and her skin care products laid out in the bathroom, ready to be used. One of Shano’s favorite acts of service is cooking for each other. You don’t mind making breakfast, lunch, or dinner for the two of you and she highly appreciates each time. You have to keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't completely overwork herself. Her favorite way of expressing her love is taking care of home and date expenses. More so, she’s already paying before you can even whip out your wallet. “Shano! You can’t always pay for these dates!” “Perish the thought dear, I’ve already reserved us at 5 different restaurants this month. Make sure to wear the dresses I like~”
Tumblr media
Toka – Her love language is acts of service. As a soft-spoken person, she has difficulty expressing her needs from her girlfriend. You tested the love languages on Toka and she was the most receptive to acts of service. You noticed that the house needed some maintenance. You were slowly pushing it off in your head but today to decided to get to work…after you finish watching whatever random YouTube videos you could get your eyes on. 2 hours had passed! You haven’t seen Toka for a while. You stand up to go look for her, you open your room door. “Hello.” She says standing right in the doorway. “What have you been doing?” “Oh, I decided to clean up a bit.” You came out to look at the house, it was from your eyes spotless. “There’s some more I need to do but I got tired.” “What do you mean, you did amazing. Thank you so much!” You skip over to the fridge and pull out the chilled, fancy water you kept hidden as a gift to Toka. “Wow, delicious!” Your simple girlfriend is absolutely adorable.

Want to Know Here How to Rent a Luxury Car in Dubai?
When it comes to luxury and riding high, Dubai is one of the ultimate places — and definitely one of the best spots to put the pedal to the metal in a luxurious car. If you are short on time or simply want the nice car, you can always rent a luxury car which can spark excitement and sophistication to your stay, be it for a special event, business trip or just have that fun ride during your stay. Car rent in Dubai does not have to be stressful. Here’s a guide on how to do it.
Tumblr media
Select The Best Rental Company
The first and most important is, selecting right car rental agency. Always look for the companies that have made a special name in the luxury cars since they have numerous high end models. These agencies, in fact, allow you to browse through their selection on line, so that you can easily compare cars, prices and availability.
Consider the Available Models
You can't expect to simply rent a car. So, when you rent a luxury car, you should know what models are available for renting. There is a wide variety of styles of sports car, such as Ferrari and Lamborghini, or more elegant sedans, such as Rolls Royce and Bentley, in Dubai. Choose the type of the vehicle to your liking. They’re available for all preferences, whether yours be speed, or comfort, or prestige.
Know the Rental Requirements.
There are some requirements to rent a luxury car in Dubai. These include a valid driver’s license and being above the minimum ages which are usually 25 for high end car. You’ll also need to show identification like a passport and a credit card for the deposit. If you’re a tourist then some rental agencies may ask for such documents as a return flight ticket.
Check Insurance Options
Insurance is super important when you are renting a luxury car. While most car rental companies cover only basic insurance, it wouldn’t hurt to double check what comes with your package. Also, buy the extra insurance for full coverage when renting an expensive vehicle. It will give some peace of mind when damages or accidents happen.
Plan Your Rental Duration
You’ll also want to decide how long you’d like to rent the car, as the price is dependent on rental duration. Luxury car rentals can be per hour, by the day and in some cases, by the week. If you’re going to drive a lot, renting by the hour might not make sense; instead, you may be better off renting for several days and paying one rate. There are some companies that give discounts when you rent for long time, so go and ask them if there is any deal going on.
Please Review the Terms and Conditions.
Read through terms & conditions carefully before you finalize your rental. And check mileage limitations, fuel guidelines and also any further fee that might relate. There are some luxury car rentals that have a mileage cap, and if you exceed that mileage you could be stuck with extra charges. Also, be sure to understand the fuel requirements as some customers will tell you they will only take premium fuel.
Book in Advance
Despite peak tourist seasons and big events, there’s a need for luxury cars in Dubai. It’s a wise thought to book your rental in advance to be on the safe side. Also if you book early on your car rentals, you may have access to lower rates and a greater number of cars to choose from.
Tumblr media
Pick Up and Enjoy the Ride
After everything is familiarized, you go to pick up your luxury car at the given place. What’s more, all rental agencies in Dubai offer airport pick up services, or drop the car on your hotel doorstep. Once you drive off, check to see if there are any pre existing damages and report them to the rental company.
Luxury car rental Dubai allows you to drive a luxurious car in that notorious city of opulence. Following these steps, you’re guaranteed to have a smooth and pleasant rental process without having to worry about anything else than the thrill of it all.

[Gakuen K] Munakata Reisi Route: Reason for Maturity Translation
*Translator’s note : MC’s name shall remain as my normal (水嶋ラン) *Gakuen K Masterlist / Gakuen K Mobile Masterlist *Spoiler FREE : Translations under cut ! Reblogs appreciated~
Fushimi: Captain, here is the sports festival’s program schedule and the layout of where all the officials are to be stationed.
Munakata: Thank you. Hmm, I see…
Munakata: Akiyama-kun, may I have the equipment list?
Akiyama: Here you go.
Munakata: Thank you.
Akiyama: Here’s a copy of it for you too.
Ran: T-Thank you.
Ran: (I never knew that holding a sports festival took so much preparation… Then again, to be fair, I was just a participant in my last school and not part of the board.)
Munakata: This should be enough tables and chairs for the number of setups we have.
Munakata: We are lacking in wireless megaphones, however. Please add 5 more to the list.
Akiyama: Understood.
Munakata: Also, it appears that the first-aid tents have not been included in this list.
Akiyama: Apologies. I’ll add them in immediately.
Munakata: Fushimi-kun, the Student Council members are slated to have their breaks at this hour.
Munakata: Please check with the vice president of the Student Council and see if we can shift the plans around.
Fushimi: Got it.
Munakata: Domyoji-kun, the BGM selection. Kamo-kun, please check the medical team’s shifts.
Munakata: And…
Ran: (Munakata-senpai’s really amazing to be dishing out orders every this way and that all at once…)
Ran: (And he even keeps tabs on the Student Council…)
Munakata: Let’s leave the audio tests to the day before the event after we review the layout and progress of everything again.
Akiyama: Captain. I’ve added the missing information.
Munakata: Thank you. There should be no problems with it now. Please bring it to Awashima-sensei for her signature of approval.
Akiyama: Roger.
Ran: What should I help out with, senpai?
Munakata: Please go with Akiyama-kun and check the list again.
Ran: Alright.
Munakata: I shall go check in with the headmaster to confirm the day’s schedule.
Munakata: Everyone, please gather back here once you’re done with your assigned task.
Akiyama: Shall we head off?
Ran: Yeah!
»» ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♔◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ««
Seri: Thank you for your hard work. The Captain’s really something to have organized everything to such detail.
Seri: Looks like everything will go smoothly without a hitch.
Seri: I’ll be leaving it in your hands, so please keep up the good work. Could you relay this to the Captain as well?
Akiyama: Understood. I will make sure to pass it on.
Ran: (Wow, Munakata-senpai’s really trusted by even the teachers, huh.)

Akiyama: How are the club activities going for you?
▷Choice: It's fun
Ran: I thought the Blue Club was a rather serious club at first, but I feel like my impression of it has changed after I joined. Ran: The stuff we do may be tough, but everyone’s really nice, so it’s overall a very fulfilling experience. Akiyama: Hehe. That’s good to hear. I suppose the Blue Club is a good fit for you then. Ran: Really? Akiyama: Yes. That’s what I think since we also have people who quit almost as soon as they join. Ran: I see… I think it’s rather sad that they decided to quit that quickly. Akiyama: You already sound like one of us with that mindset.
▷Choice: I still have some worries about it...
Ran: There are actually some things that I still worry about even now. Akiyama: Really? Ran: I’m still not used to the things the Club does, so there are still times when I worry that I’m dragging the others down with my incompetence. Akiyama: I see… but the more you do it, the more you’ll get used to it, and you’ll pick it up soon enough. Akiyama: I think the most important thing in the end is whether you enjoy being part of the Blue Club. Ran: Akiyama-senpai… Thank you. I really enjoy being here! Akiyama: That’s good.
Akiyama: Are you getting used to school life here yet?
Ran: Yup! It’s been fun here since I got to make lots of friends!
Ran: But…
Akiyama: But? You can come to me if you’re facing any problems.
Ran: About my abilities… I’ve yet to get any news on that front.
Akiyama: Don’t worry about that. Should anything happen, the Blue Club will protect you.
Akiyama: We’ve received orders from the Captain to do everything we can to stop you if your Ability happens to go berserk.
Ran: Wait, really? That’s the first time I’m hearing of this.
Akiyama: Yes. The Captain is the type of person to think things through. And I’m sure he’s placing especial attention on you, considering everything.
Ran: (He was…?)
Ran: He’s a really amazing person, isn’t he? He’s even watching out for me despite being busy with both his presidential roles at the Student Council and the Blue Club.
Ran: And he doesn’t look or feel like a high-schooler at all with how calm and collected he always carries himself…
Akiyama: Of course. He did spend two years studying abroad.
Ran: Huh? He studied abroad!? And for two whole years too…
Akiyama: I do not know what he was studying overseas, but I’m sure the experience has contributed much to his daily life.
Ran: That’s amazing… Now I understand why he’s so mature.
Ran: (He wasn’t just older than his cohort, but an actual adult)
»» ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♔◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ««
Akiyama: Oh, it looks like the Captain has returned as well. Let’s hurry and make our way back.
Ran: Yeah.

👑 APPLICATION ADVICE 🌿
Tumblr media
Hello! We are so glad you want to join our zine! I’m Mod Anna, in charge of writing and organization. We decided to share advice on what we look for in applications, as well as how the application is formatted. If you’ve applied to a lot of zines or none at all, we hope you’ll read through this information to guide you through our application process. First things first: a link to our info sheet is here. BEFORE reading this post, look at our FAQ and contributor application requirements. A lot of your questions will be answered here already. It helps mods if you examine our provided information before asking a new question.
Before opening the application, I suggest you know which pieces you are using to apply. An organized portfolio and strong submission pieces do a lot for ensuring we can give your application the dedication we want to in our reviewal process. If your links don’t work, we won’t be able to give you a fair review. AO3, Google Drive (with the correct sharing permissions), and any other free online portfolio will work. If you’re worried about your links working, you can check their access abilities using an incognito or private tab. Each applicant will be sent a copy of their responses so you can ensure you submitted the correct ones. For other portfolio suggestions, I will include more information later in this post.
For the application itself: our first question on the application confirms you are 18+ before applying. If you are not of age, we will not be able to accept you. If we find out you have lied, you will be disqualified from our project and likely future ones the mod team runs. I apologize if you want to join but are under 18—but this rule protects us and you to comply with labor laws as much as we can. The next few questions will ask you for general information. Your credit name, pronouns, social media links (if you have any) and a discord username. We will be communicating zine information through a Discord server, so please ensure you have an account.
Social media follower count will not be conducive to our choice for acceptance. For me, if I want to see more work from the applicant, I may check their social media if their portfolio is too small. The issue with a Certain Social Media Site, formerly known as Tw*tter, is that it does not organize your work well (i.e. RTs are hard to sort through from your personal work). I would suggest a blogging site, like tumblr, with a tag we can filter through. AO3 is similar with sorting capabilities, so you may wish to share yours even if you choose a different portfolio format.
Choose the zine position you will apply for. If you have more than one you wish to apply for, submit more than one application. If you are accepted, however, it will only be for one position. The pinch hitter question is pretty important. If we have a contributor fall through, you may be messaged to work on a shorter timeline. We have a few options of how you’d like to be considered as a pinch hitter, such as if your decision changes whether you’re accepted or not. I personally have been a pinch hitter more than once; it’s fun, it’s rushed, but it’s a job that a lot of people don’t always appreciate. Nonetheless, this answer will not affect your acceptance status.
Next is your submissions. For your submission links, artists are recommended to use Google Drive links and writers are recommended to use AO3 or Google Drive. You don’t have to host them on these sites, however, please make sure your links are easy to access and use. The harder it is for us to find your work, the less time we will be able to review it. You will also be asked which part of our zine you’re interested in creating for (Karasuno, Pro Leagues, JNT/Olympics) and whether you wish to create for our potential NSFW add-on. Page artists will be asked if they want to be our cover artist.
Each person will be asked about portfolio and submission links. The next section will help with choosing your pieces. Please include any content warnings in the space provided and keep this section SFW.
𝐒𝐔𝐁𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒
GENERAL OVERVIEW: If you have pieces that feature Kageyama or Hinata, especially concerning their relationship, I recommend using those for your submission pieces. This way we will be able to understand how you portray them, and how we see that fitting in with our project. A zine team wants a range of contributors. The more flexible your work is while maintaining a consistent style, the better we’ll be able to see you creating a page we want to print. If you choose to submit pieces from other fandoms, ensure there’s a reason why you want to include them. Whether they resemble a way you’ll draw them or write their characterizations, you want to target your pieces toward showing off your capabilities, not limiting them. It is not recommended to include drafts or sketches of your work in your portfolio. We want to see what you can develop in full for our zine.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR PAGE ARTISTS: Choose pieces that are as current to your developed artistic style. The way you color, render, line, light, and form will all be taken into consideration. You want at least 1 piece, if not all 3, to have full backgrounds. Your compositions and detail will be important, i.e. if you have characters in similar poses or simple backgrounds, we won’t be able to see the full range of your skill. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MERCH ARTISTS: Along with the above section, please ensure you have as many polished merch designs in your portfolio, if you have them. The more you have, the better we can see what merch item you would best create. If you apply to both positions, I don’t recommend an overlap between your main submissions—you can include them in your portfolio, but try to tailor your application to the merch aspect versus as a page artist.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR WRITERS: As a writer myself, I may be biased in saying that a writer application is the hardest to craft. For one, if you don’t have KageHina pieces, the mod team has a weaker understanding of how you would write these characters in their canon scenario.
If you have any polished KageHina pieces, it is imperative you include at least one. Otherwise, if you have written any characters that emulate their personalities or how you would write them, or even other characters in the Haikyuu!! Universe, we will accept these as well. The better the mods know the characters, the more they’re likely to judge your piece fairly. As a side note, I will include other fandoms the mods are familiar with so you can determine if you have any pieces of fandoms outside of Haikyuu!! that would fit what you wish to portray in our zine.
For writing, determine the kind of relationship you want to portray in a potential zine piece. Getting together, hurt/comfort, established relationships, fluff, humor—all of the tropes you want to include and how you write them, pick the pieces that best represent them. Characterization, setting, fluid writing are all important and ultimately, the way the piece makes a reader feel. As applicants, we do not get to explain what our intent is with a piece; all we have is the work, and how a mod enjoys your pieces. Here, range is important. If your pitches are angsty, you’ll want an angst submission. If you want to write humor, the same thing. We will do our best to determine different applicants and their goals to create a cohesive, flowing piece that portrays Hinata and Kageyama in their canon element.
Pay attention to word count as well. We are aiming for 1.5k-3k word pieces for the zine. This means you’ll want at least one finished piece in this length and excerpts of this length. We will only read a max of 5k per piece so keep this in mind during your selections.
Final Points to Make your Application Stronger: we are forming a zine about KageHina in canon. Do you have pieces of them younger in Karasuno or older in JNT? You may want to include these. Especially when it comes down to your pitches in the next section.
As a final reminder, keep all pieces SFW. The NSFW portion follows a similar format, of course, but this is an optional application. You will want to include Mature or Explicit work for the NSFW part of our application.
𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐅𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐎
This is where you put your pieces that are the strongest outside of your main submission. I would recommend Google Drive Folder. For all applicants, when we review more of your pieces, we will be able to give your application a more thorough look. Just as a reminder, organization does matter. If you have extra pieces you wish to show off, this is when you would include them. I recommend a Google Drive Folder because, although more work to put together, we will be able to sort through your other pieces quicker. You could include a list of AO3 links with details about each fic, you could include full excerpts, you could include more of your range in artwork.
𝐏𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐒
I love reading creative pitches. I love seeing the passion a contributor has for the zine or for the characters themselves! Feel free to think about what you wish to create for this project. Try to keep them at a reasonable length, but still detailed enough that we can see your vision. This will not determine your acceptance but it does help us figure out which part of the zine we’d like to see you write or draw for. Make sure to submit and ask any questions or comments you have. We will answer them on our twitter if we feel them relevant. You will receive a copy of your responses, too.
𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍
Thank you so much for reading this, frankly, verbose post. I appreciate your attention to your application and I hope this soothes some of your worries. We are so excited to see all the lovely applications! No matter what happens, we are so happy for your passion for this project.
Much affection, Mod Anna

How I feel about the new Quotev update/what I did about it!
So this morning I woke up to an update on Q and oh my God it was the worst update I ever saw. I just went to go check my message box and it went straight to my library and when I tell you I froze. It was literally so horrible that the admins were taking away a community that we built piece by piece. I will fight to get it back.
So here's what I decided to do about it.
First of all, I signed a petition and commented this on it:
"If y'all know me I was an aspiring Quotevian. my original account was LunaTheMushroomChild and my currently account is/was catloafs. If you know me I was aspiring to become popular on quotev. Quotev had saved me and made many of my memorable moments in life. There were connections and bonds I could have never created if it weren't for OLD quotev. I look at this site now and am heartbroken. Many people have built a community and a HOME on this site and are being left in the dust. We do not deserve to have the community we have spent multiple years creating to be crushed down by Quotev admins"
Then I decided to message the Quotev admins and wrote this!:
"Hi Quotev Admins. I'm sure you have clearly gotten a lot of comments and negative reviews about the current update. I would like to share my opinion on it without getting ridiculed. I think that it is very unfair that you are bringing down the community that we worked for many years to create. The activity tab was something people used to properly communicate and to make posts. People on Quotev were slowly becoming influencers on this app. I myself was trying to make a out of my account that people can feel safe on. I have been in on this site for about a year now on my old account. I do not think that it is fair that we are punished for other people's actions. The activity tab is what people used to make posts and express their opinions on the world. The chats and messages were used for very important conversations and for dming other users on this app/ website. I do not think it's fair that's everyone that is using this site, is being ridiculed and torn down by you. I have been on the site for a year and watching everyone leave is breaking my heart. The community that we have made is slowly falling apart because of this new update. Please bring back the activity tab and the message boxes. I do not feel as if it is fair to us as members on this site. I get that you want it to be fanfictions but we have enough apps for that. People do make fan fictions and quizzes on this site but it is mainly use for social and public interacting. You have taken away the thing that the users on this app/website usually used. Almost everyone use the activity tab if they were not used to this app/website. I do hope that this has changed your mind on some things and I hope that you can listen to my words and truly think about what you have done to the members on this app/website. Thank you, and have a great day/night."

Hello, lovely members! Both of us admins are completely over the moon with the support we've received for Blue Harbor thus far, and we couldn't be happier to announce that we are officially OPEN FOR OOC INTERACTIONS! We've decided to split up OOC and IC opening to give everyone a chance to plot and become acquainted with one another, but don't worry! An IC opening date is merely on the horizon. For now, please review this list of changes:
The follow list has been opened. Please follow everyone!
Everyone will receive a link to our OOC Discord. Joining is voluntary, but it is highly encouraged! There you will find several channels for OOC chatting, IC organization such as plotting/starter calls, and every admin update will be shared there as well to ensure that nobody misses anything important from us. You may interact within the Discord as much or as little as you choose.
Make sure you've posted your character intro. It can be as simple or as detailed as you wish, but should contain necessary information ( in some way ) such as your character's biographies, in order to make plotting easier! Please tag all intros with our tag, intro.bh, and post a link to them in the #ic-intros channel in our Discord if you've chosen to join.
Plot to your hearts content. Feel free to message your fellow members and get the ball rolling for when we open for IC interactions very, very shortly. If you've joined the Discord, try to interact with as many plotting calls as possible and be sure to message everyone back appropriately as well! Or, you're more than welcome to message people via the Tumblr IM system. Either way, get involved with the other characters! And if there are any issues, or if you need some help, we'll always be here.
Review our IC opening date poll. We want to choose an IC opening date that is convenient for most of you — whether that mean commence interactions as soon as possible or wait a little bit to continue this OOC process — so please be sure to check out the poll in our Discord to give your opinion on what is best. In 72 hours, or once we have received everyone's vote, we will announce the results and the conclusion we've come to! If there are members that choose to opt out of the Discord, we will repost the poll on our newspaper blog to ensure that everyone may participate!
We want to reiterate how floored we are by the positive response we've received, and acknowledge that we wouldn't have been able to get to this point without you guys! So, thank you so much for your enthusiasm thus far. We can't wait to get this show on the road very soon and learn all about your beautiful characters.

Finally..done with your lectures. They were pretty boring today but your head was somewhere else. After all, you and John are supposed to meet after both of you are done. You and John...John..all alone..you and him....you blush and giggle, almost kicking your feet.
You decide to wait for him by his room, he has one more lecture to give..a long one but you're good to wait. The more you think about him the faster the time goes.
You approach the door. Awfully quiet, even for him.. you knock? The sound of approaching footsteps becoming louder, you hear your favorite voice behind the door.
-do you guys communicate at all?? What do you need your phones for.
The door swings open.
-the lecture is-
His faces changes when he sees you, awkwardly smiling at him. The blood rushes towards his head.
-oh, it's- it's you..
-don't you have a lecture right now?
-yeah, I dismissed it.. wait, you know when my lectures are?
-well, yeah, I checked cause we were going to meet
-right! Sure..yeah..
You feel the tension surrounding him. You smile at him..isn't he adorable..god what a sweet teddy bear..you'd jump him with a hug right now and he'd probably be extremely happy about. But you're not going to check that theory.
-soo..why did you dismiss it..?
Both of you walk into the room, you go to some desk, closest to his table. You decide to place your ass right on the desk. He's by his table, looking for something in a stack of papers.
-I was uhmm.. I'm tired. Not feeling like giving another lecture today.
-oh..should I leave you b-
He interrupts you.
-no!
You look at each other.
-s-sorry..no, don't leave me. I'm just..
He wipes his face with a hand, squeezing his eyes.
-I need your company right now.
-okay..I'm here..
An awkward silence..
-could you..could you help me find something?
He sounds nervous. He takes off his blazer and drops it on a chair.
-sure!
You come near him.
-what's up?
He struggles for a second..you're so close to him..
-I can't find my plan for Monday's trip and the head is going to kill me if I tell him I lost it..
-no worries, it's probably somewhere here..you got a lot of paper in here. Why don't you just go digital?
-I don't like to be dependent on the technology.
-sure
You chuckle.
-you like to be dependent on a huge stack of paper where you lose your important documents
-it's somewhere here! Look in the cabinets please..
You start checking the cabinets..useless..useless..useless...oh a story draft..? Fully handwritten, some stuff crossed out, you see someone with your name..
-hey, John?
-yeah?
He replies without getting distracted from searching.
-uuhmm you write?
-huh?
He looks your way instantly rushing towards you.
-OH UHM, THAT'S ONE OF THE STUDENTS' STORY DRAFT! THEY- THEY ASKED ME TO CHECK IT AND GIVE A REVIEW
-John?
-yeah..?
-...you write..?
He carefully takes the paper out of your hand.
-yeah.......
-that's awesome
He looks at you, surprised.
-you think..?
-yeah, really cool!
He smiles, looking away.
-you can uhm..read some if you want...some time...just..no pressure..
-I'd love to
You say gently.
-oh, here's the plan..I think?
You hand him a sheet of paper that looks like a plan to you. He gets excited
-OH YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!
He grabs you in his arms, making you blush the color of tomato.
-it's fine..
You laugh nervously. Oh god....he's so..big and warm...oooh.... he's not letting go......
-John..?
-sorry........
He looks at you. All of the sudden you feel some sort of confidence coming from him..he's breathing down your neck..you feel a soft lip touch on your skin. You gasp.
-John, someone is going to see..
-nobody is going to see..I'm supposed to be giving a lecture right now, remember?
He drags his lips across your neck, towards your lips.
-John..
You moan softly..he caresses your cheek with his thumb.
-may I?
He whispers into your lips.
-yeah..
His lips..soft and sweet. Passionately piercing into yours. His tongue wants to meet yours but he's afraid to push your boundaries.
Your hands stroking his cheeks. You're sliding onto his shoulders, grasping into them. He's murmuring your name. He slips his hands under your shirt, grabbing and squeezing your chest. You look away but it only makes him more eager.. he starts licking your neck.
-I've been waiting for this..for so long..so long..
He pants.
-every night I struggle to fall asleep because you're on my mind..
-John..
-you're the only person I want to give lectures to..
He smiles, noticing how you blush.
-I also..been thinking about it for a long time..dreaming about staying with you after the lecture..when nobody would see us..
He's getting more pushy, sliding his hands all over your body, impatiently grabbing your thighs and lifting up your skirt. You gasp.
-I want to make you feel good..
He whispers, pressing his fingers between your legs. He smirks, seeing you bite your lip trying not to make sounds from his touch..
-let me hear those beautiful sounds
He starts rubbing very distinctly and slowly, making you softly moan into his ear.
-there we go..so beautiful..
He's losing his breath. A finger slides into your underwear, directly into you. He gasps from how wet and hot you are inside.
-you just keep surprising me today
His lips smooching your shoulder. You feel him sucking and slightly biting into you. He moves your underwear to the side, moving his finger across your clit. So embarrassing..your juices leaking down your legs.
John reaches for his pants, slowly unzipping and releasing himself. He gives himself a few strokes and pushes the dick between your legs. He moans. So warm..you're so warm and wet.. you make him completely lose his breath. He thrusts a little. You squeeze your legs to make his dick rub against a tight space. Oh he's rubbing right against your clit, making you weak and feral, you moan his name, almost begging him.
-want me inside you?
He looks at you, gently caressing your face.
-yes..please..
You breathe with your mouth, looking into his eyes. He lifts your leg by grabbing your thigh and pushes you against the nearest wall. You can't take it anymore..you need him right now. You look at each other..you feel him slowly sliding his dick inside you. Very slowly. You moan in relief..finally..you feel him.. he's inside you...finally. He moans along with you.
-oh..god damn it...I love you.
John murmurs embraced by his feelings. Your eyes widened. He said..what..
-John...
He blushes deeply, squeezing his eyes.
-sorry...I'm sorry..
You laugh.
-what are you sorry about?
-I'm sorry I..love you..
-god, you..
You carefully kiss his lips.
-you're just precious...John, I love...I love you too...
He gasps, starting to move, pinning you into the wall. He's being rough and quick, trying to hide his feelings. He's damn happy right now. So fucking happy he's ready to fuck you to the heavens. Even tho you feel like heavens to him right now..it feels amazing to thrust his dick into you, to feel your hot walls. The leaking juices make it so nice to slide into you... you make him feel good. Amazing.
You hear him panting..maybe a little too hard
-all good, John..?
-yeah
He laughs anxiously.
-maybe I shouldn't skip my cardio
-take it a bit easier..we can stop if you..
-no! No no no we're not stopping.
He becomes more intense. He's pounding you hard. Your eyes roll a bit.
-fffuck, John...
-language, m'lady
You chuckle, he smiles at you. You hug him tight
-let me know if you need a quick break
-I'm good, I can't stop knowing how good you feel...just a little more..
He starts kissing your lips, greedily, passionately. Finally, his tongue made it into your mouth. So eager to study everything inside. Fuck, his kiss is so wet, you feel saliva dripping down your chin. You need more of him. He slows down with his pounding, working with the full length now. You feel the tip almost leaving you and then he thrusts right back. You're getting lightheaded.
He pushes you into the wall with his full body, not breaking the kiss. He moans, putting his whole chest into it and pulls out, leaking onto the floor. He quickly starts rubbing you with his fingers, you moan, breaking the kiss and he instantly feels you getting weak in your knees. You grab him tight
-fuck fuck fuuuck~
You wait for a second.
-sorry, professor..
Both of you start laughing quietly and out of breath.
-I love..you..
John murmurs, a bit scared but..more confident. He's such a gentle man. You kiss his cheek, feeling it move from a smile on his face.
What a great chat both of you had.

Unheard Longing
Narrator never thought he'd feel lonely again..
...but he was clearly wrong.
He's waited in the same room for years, waiting for Stanley to move anywhere away from the skip button. Narrator stared and stared, feeling his already dimming glow of hope slowly diminish to imaginary atoms. He didn't like how quiet everything was; how he was feeling about the silence.
And he has yet to mention these.. these complex emotions of emptiness. It was like he lost something vital to himself.
..Stanley's not that important, is he?
Sure, Narrator did make The Stanley Parable, but..
...
..Moving on...
He supposed that searching around for the door would be pointless; it was clear that every nook and cranny of this measly little concrete box was devoid of any possible exits. Sure, some dust was beginning to fall from the ceiling, but he was sure that it was just getting mildly windy outside.
Jumping back to the present time, Narrator looked around the room for what he was sure was going to be the millionth time in a row, turning and darting whatever kind of eyes he had in a desperate yet feeble attempt in searching for a way out. He loudly sighed, hoping that the rude intrusion would spark something from the man afront.
...
...Nothing.
Stanley didn't move an inch.
Narrator let himself feel hopeless. He's lost count for how long it's been, at this point; a hundred? Two hundred? Perhaps more? At this point, he couldn't care less.
At first, he was tired.
Then he grew upset.
Angry, even, as the memories of what happened beforehand came flooding in, unwarranted. Narrator began to seeth, mumbling to himself in a scoffing manner.
"You know, Stanley, I still very much remember all of those nasty reviews," Narrator pointedly began, "Me, preachy, unfunny? Why, it was them who dared to twist what I meant! You understand what I am saying, don't you, Stanley?
The Stanley Parable was a work of art; nothing but serious dedication was etched and written into it! How dare they, Stanley — how dare they, indeed! You better be hearing this — my preachy and unfunny and obnoxious little voice — just thinking about it makes me want to... want to..."
Narrator, by this point, trailed off to silence. The more he thought about it, the less it made sense to blame them. He was the one who responded to those reviews, wasn't he? He saw them and — instead of checking if those were worthy taking into account — he just decided that they were already meant to be taken seriously.
He should have known from the start, he should have ignored them for their needlessness; for their sheer pettiness.
But they were being reasonable–
That gives no excuse for what happened.
It was for the good of the legacy–
What legacy is there to keep if Stanley himself is frozen solid!?
That single thought brought him back to reality.
He blinked and looked back at the dimly lit room. He felt himself let out a shaky sigh, knowing for a fact that Stanley hadn't moved an inch during Narrator's whole time stuck in his thoughts.
"..I did this, didn't I?
I'm the whole reason everything came to be like this, Stanley– I made the button! The stupid button that you just can't help but keep pressing every single time. Please – I'm begging you, please – come back, Stanley– Return to me, Stanley! You can hear me, can't you? I'm helpless without you– the story is helpless without you– you're the reason I'm like this!.."
Alas, all he heard in reply was his own voice, echoing around the confining walls.
Everything fell silent. All Narrator felt like he had the energy to do was just watch; wait for something, anything to happen.
When nothing did.. he hated it.
"And of course I just had to start talking to you! You, Stanley, YOU! You and your brainless antics, ignoring each and every time I tried to tell you to just listen to me, you pressed the damn button!
Don't get me started on those reviews! I'm betrayed, Stanley, betrayed by you– betrayed by everybody in this god-forsaken world! Why, I ought to speak up about this, Stanley– the injustice, the pettiness, the shamelessness to ever dare to suggest such falsetries–!
Look at me, making up words on the fly– What have I become, Stanley, what have I become..?"
Silence.
Narrator took in a deep, berated breath.
"...I'm.. I'm pathetic, aren't I? Is my voice truly too preachy, Stanley? Talk to me, Stanley– say something, move, anything, please..?"
Nothing.
..Anger.
"This– This is all the reviews' fault. Maybe if they didn't– maybe if they decided to just keep it to themselves–"
He seethed, cried, lashed out.
"Maybe then you'd still be with me instead of leaving me to my annoying and obnoxious and unfunny humor and commentary– ..Yes, it's all their fault; they demanded, they screamed, they yelled at the top of their lungs!
They wanted more, they wanted less, they wanted. They wailed their thoughts and buried the shame they should have been feeling!
The game was never even meant to have humor to begin with! 'But why!?' They screamed, and I screamed back, loathing and full of hatred; 'Because I know what I was doing!', but they didn't understand that the game was never meant to be funny! It was meant to have a point!"
And he rambled.
On and on.
He thought and yelled, he cried and swore, he looked away from the room.
He talked and talked until he heard the faint sound of a click,
...and silence resumed once more.

Every Kaeloo Season 1 Episodes RANKED
Disclaimer: I am so terribly sorry that I put this out so late than I intended. Outside stuff is making things busy for me and in turn had made projects like this overdue. I won't make a complete schedule for the other rankings as a result, so make sure to check back to the blog for any updates on the next one.
Also, if you wish to rank episodes of Season 1, I have a link here to form your own tier list, but only if you have watched the season in it's entirety. I will mention how to watch the show during the beginning of my review, so look out for that. But until then:
Season 1 Tier List (made by me!): https://tiermaker.com/create/kaeloo-season-1-episode-tier-list-15328649
What if you have The Backyardigans, with the slapstick of Ed Edd n Eddy and Tex Avery cartoons. The zany comedy of Spongebob. And the social satire of South Park and Gumball.
Combined with an art and animation style of Rayman and…Fanboy and Chum Chum…?
That is what I would describe Kaeloo!
The 2010 CG French cartoon by Remi Chapotot and Jean-François Henry, that was formed from a pilot short back in 2007.
I discovered this wonderful, wacky, sometimes weird show from TV Tropes back in 2017, and then 5 years later in December 2021, I immediately became obsessed with it. That same year, I was obsessed with Rise of the TMNT since April and would not stop getting hyped up until I calmed down months later. And then the cycle continued with Kaeloo, and now here we are lmao.
I have been wanting to do something to commemorate this series for a while, until I decided on an idea. To celebrate Season 5 coming perhaps this year, maybe? I came up with a plan to form my thoughts on each season by ranking their respective episodes from worst to best. I will do a little season overview to lay out the quality of how they handle the characters, writing, and animation. And then the episode rankings will be where I will sum up my thoughts.
Now I have done this episode ranking format before. Back in 2020, I posted a Mao Mao Season 1 ranking on my respective Mao Mao fanblog. It’s still decent, but the problem was that, aside from my favorite episodes, the other tiers have the episodes ranked by episode airdate order rather than personal taste. And that I could have laid out my reasons as to why they were in the tiers I placed them. One day, when I get back into Mao Mao, I will properly fix that tier list.
But back to Kaeloo, this is going to be the most fun and most exhausting ranking series I ever have to do. The fun part is rewatching every single episode again, almost like a sense of nostalgia from watching them the first time. But the exhausting part is getting through the episodes that were just plain boring or drive me up the wall.
Regardless, I know that despite the hardships that will appear, this will still be the most interesting project I will ever do.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this ranking/review will contain some spoilers, so please read this if you have watched Season 1 and all of Kaeloo in its entirety. You can watch the show available on Canal Plus to support the series legally. Make sure that your VPN is strong enough to access, because if not, I recommend getting a stronger one. For Season 1, the English Dub is available on Dailymotion along with the original French Dub being fansubbed by fellow Kaeloo fan, RandomnessUnlimited. However, as of writing this, there’s only 15 episodes posted so far. So it’s either sticking to the original or English Dub. If you stick to the English Dub, prepare for your ears and your soul to shrivel up the moment you hear some obxnoxious, annoying voices. But if you can stomach that kind of torture, then you’re all set!
So of course, we are starting with Season 1! But first, a little overview:
Quick Skim
Kaeloo Season 1 was interesting to say the least. If you have been into a long-running show, and go back into the first season, you’ll notice how many changes that happened from the past to the present. Season 1 is sort of like this. Like the characters and plot have still stayed as the show moved on, but the format and writing style had changed.
This season goes for a more formulaic plot, like shows like Phineas and Ferb. Where Kae wants to play a game, Cat doesn’t wanna play a game but changes his mind to cheat and beat up Quack-Quack, Stumpy tries to win but fails, Cat beats up Quack, Kae turns into Bad Kaeloo and beats him up, and then epilogue.
Boom, rinse and repeat!
That may get kind of tiresome, but thankfully, they do manage to work around the formula and have a couple of episodes play out differently while keeping the main plot around.
The setup for this season and the show in general is just neat. Kaeloo is basically a parody of one of those preschool shows you’ve seen as a kid, think of Dora the Explorer and The Backyardigans. Where “the cast are best friends, explore new worlds, and learn morals along the way, and have fun uwu~!”. Kaeloo slaps that in the face and warps that concept with a twisted edge to it.
Instead, the main cast, while friends, would sometimes bite each other in the back and throw each other off with insults or violence. There’s a character who gets whacked with a mallet to being blown to bits with a goddamn bazooka. And it has some absurd adult jokes and actual—mind you—actual swearing that would make your eyes wide hard. And I love it! I understand that those examples, along with the mean-spirited tone might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s understandable. But I, like other people, truly appreciate Kaeloo for what it is. Being a rather morbid show joking off shows like Dora, that also doubles as a goofy slapstick comedy.
I see the humor of the show divided into 5 core elements. Its character driven, with some black comedy, surrealism, social commentary, and slapstick. These are what makes the comedy of Kaeloo so great. Of course not every joke hits, but the ones that do truly hit. It mostly works off of the characters and how they would act around the situation they’re in. There’s a saying that when you make such interesting characters, you can put them into any scenario and it would just work. And thankfully that applies to the cast of Kaeloo, specifically the main four. Speaking of which…
In this season, there’s no other characters, no talking sheep, no talking objects! Just four wacky characters, living in an equally wacky world.
Kaeloo, Stumpy, Quack-Quack, and Mr. Cat are an all-around neat set of characters. If you were to watch any episode from this season alone, you’d pretty much get the gist of them. They all bring their cards out to the table about who they are, what they’re like, and how they play off against each other. Most of the time in the wrong ways (looking at you, Cat). Now this season doesn’t have any strong character development. There are bits of backstory revelations involving characters like Cat and Quack for example, but that’s about it. And that’s perfectly fine, as while I do dig that a ton, I don’t mind it when the story gives that a back seat and let’s the characters just vibe in their own way.
For my opinions of the quadruple this season? Hmm… I don’t want to make this section too long since the ranking will be longer and I will continue to share my thoughts on them during that time. So I’ll try and keep this brief!
Kae and Quack are both okay. For being the title character, Kaeloo’s not so bad. I like how even when she seems to be generally nice, there are moments where her faults come to light, mostly comes from her bring bossy to the buddies. She has a few shining moments here, a handful of which are great, and I’ll discuss them when we get to it! But overall, especially from rewatch, it wasn’t enough to make me fully invest in her. I do prefer how she is handled in the later seasons, where despite her being more irritating at times, I love how there’s some moments where she tries to improve herself. But here, she’s decent, but not my favorite. The same can be said for Quack-Quack, providing some funny visual gags with the way his body functions, his obsession with yogurt, and being just a straight-up god in general. He’s a bit better than Kae this season but didn’t really leave any major impact on me.
However, on the other hand, Cat and Stumpy carried this season for me! Mr. Cat is just probably one of the best characters in the entire series, can we all just admit it? Well okay, I guess this was a given already. Yes, he’s a complete jerk who’s grumpy and also a sadistic schemer, but I also love him. There’s more to him than just him being “the sadistic bully”, since he’s revealed to be a very intelligent guy and also have rare occurrences of caring for Kae and the buddies. Both of these qualities are expanded on in the later seasons and to great effect that helps his character as well, but that comes way soon. As for Stumps, I also love him. He may be my number two, but he’s still amazing! Stumpy makes me laugh with whatever action he does. Constantly having his bad luck affect his chances of winning a game while constantly raving on for his love for video games and comic books. I relate to this guy somewhat since we share similar hobbies, and that’s one of the reasons why I adore this funky lil’ dude.
As for other stuff, the animation’s pretty good. While it being a CG cartoon during the early 2010s is nothing new, the fact that it emulated squash and stretch into this form was something special. It’s a reason why I said that this show was like Fanboy and Chum Chum at the beginning, since that show and Kaeloo were the early forms of using this sort of animation technique, especially in television. It wasn’t until we had movies like Hotel Translyvania that fully kicked off this trend, and I’m rather happy for that. For Season 1, the animation is still impressive. I did spotted a few errors, but it’s too be expected, and thankfully it’s shown only rarely. There’s some neat character expressions and some surprising action sequences here that still holds up. Of course, the later seasons did improve these two points, but I want to give this season some credit where credit is do.
Oh yeah, and the music’s a banger, Franck Marchal really nailed it. Many of the OSTs in this show are so memorable, a few of them got stuck in my head. Really do hope the series gets an official soundtrack one day.
Alright, so the overview is done! I didn’t want this to be long since the ranking itself will be, so hopefully I will shorten them a bit for the rest of the seasons.
So, let us finally get the ranking over with to determine my complete thoughts on Season 1!
We’re going from “JUST AWFUL” to “JUST AWESOME” rather than going from F-S Tier. I just like it that way. Case you’re wondering, “JUST AWFUL” is where an episode is just so bad, I consider it to be my least favorite. Period. Will not watch ever again. “JUST AWESOME” is of course the episodes that are my absolute favorite and will continue to watch them whenever I can. And the other tiers, Bad, Okay, Good, and Great, are exactly what it says in the tin.
Now that’s settled, let us properly begin! Starting with…
Bad Tier
Okay so thankfully, there’s only two bad episodes in this season, which is good for me at least. They aren’t awful per say, but are still badly written overall. So, with that said, my least favorite episode this season is:
52. Justice Masters
Mr. Cat Gets Relaxation Challenge: impossible
This sucked butt.
Now Cat had done some pretty heinous stuff before, but here, he hadn’t, at all. Okay maybe he did lied about jumping off a cliff to garner sympathy from the quote-on-quote “Justice Masters” but that’s about it. All he wanted was to just relax from all the stress he’d been having, but the Legion of Superdoops decided to make things worse!
Kae and the buddies being these superheroes to keep Mr. Cat relaxed seemed interesting at first, but just became unbearable as the story continued. They finally seem to get the memo and created a beautiful spa to make Cat happy, only for it to fumble hard when it became a freaking death spa on the poor cat. Again, if Cat did something ruthless in this episode, then it would be kind of funny? But he didn’t so, it wasn’t!
I did like the hero references, one or two gags, and Kae’s gratuitous Spanish. But that’s it.
It sucked, moving on.
51. Goodbye Mr. Cat
I too would be like the narrator sobbing over Cat’s farewell…well supposed farewell to be exact.
This episode had a rather interesting concept that would have been so perfect, not only for a sweet emotional payoff, but a nice character moment for Cat!
But however, the biggest problem was the way how it was handled.
The tension of getting Cat to stay wasn’t really there for me. It seemed so from the first part but then it fumbled over by the second half. The twist was creative, I’ll give it that, but it came in too early and was just there to be yet another “Cat gets boo-boos from Badka moment”. Speaking of which, Mr. Cat beating up the buddies after everything they done to try and help him was not great either. I know that he’s a jerk and all, but still. We have seen that he does care for them, but in a subtle way at least.
Honestly, I think Grown Ups and Bye Bye Yogurt handled this similar premise better, especially the former because of the aforementioned detail of Cat showing signs of caring for his friends.
Overall, not an awful episode, but the execution could have been so much more.
Okay that’s it for the bad episodes, and now for the mediocre ones!
Okay Tier
Yeah, there was a surprising amount of mid in this season. The bottom half are the ones that are boring, while the top half are decent at best. So we’re starting with…
50. Peace Man/Peace
This episode started off with Cat smelling his stinky armpits and ends with him getting violated with kisses from Badka…..w-what…?
Yeah, that’s like the only two highlights from this episode that I actually remembered, and not in a good way. This one was just boring. I pretty much have nothing else to say about it, aside from those two moments that are the most cursed of all of Kaeloo!
Oh, and Cat swearing, goated moment.
Overall, just skip it, moving on.
49. Hopscotch
A game of hopscotch and religious symbolism sounds kind of intriguing, but it wasn’t to me at least. It’s boring.
A few jokes were decent, and I liked Quack’s evolution from angel to demon.
That’s all I put in from my notes, it’s just fine.
48. Teachers
Teachers is a little better, but still mid.
It’s just not really that funny, but the character moments were neat. Cat’s odd diagnosis involving Kae and Badka’s internal conflict was weird. I know it was meant for laughs, but I dunno.
Eh, it’s also alright, I guess.
47. Magicians
I thought this episode was boring the first time I watched it, and it’s still boring upon rewatch, wow, surprising!
The suicide scene, for starters, was not great.
Stumpy’s “what doesn’t exist” thing was admittingly funny, but it didn’t go anywhere. Cat’s magician drip was neat, and I liked the dance scene but that’s it.
Just Stumps in denial and magician shenanigans, alright.
46. Circus
Yet another episode that was boring from first time and rewatch, but slightly better.
I like a few of the performances, and the jokes, but yeah, that’s about it.
45. Catch the Mailman
Okay, you know the drill, boring before, boring again. When Cat showed up, things got a little better. I also liked the mailmain strike scene, that got a laugh out of me. I also liked Badka attempted to be funny, that was cute. Either way, it’s a’ight.
44. Ecologists
I thought this ep was super boring when I first watched it, but now? Eh, you know, it’s kinda decent. Some of the jokes, mostly on protecting the environment did made me laugh, and yeah it’s not bad. Still might not go back to watching it, but I’m at least glad I have it another shot!
43. Cops and Robbers
Okay, this one is mid, but kind of high?
I thought the twist of what happened to Quack’s yogurt was confusing at first, but I rewatched the episode again for any clues that made some sense. And alright, it was fine at least, but could have been better. Also Cat using the “serious case” as a means to screw over Quack is kind of odd? Like he wasn’t involved in the crime at all, and instead ended up getting arrested anyway for another crime, bruh.
I will admit, the car chase scene was the highlight, it’s a lot of fun and funny too! Though I find it weird that Stumpy can drive here, and then many episodes later come Driver’s Ed, where he doesn’t know how to drive. Either this ep came after that one for there’s some continuity errors!
Uh, what’s else, what else? Umm, I like Cat’s scream when the banana got shot up his nose, it made me laugh hard due to how ridiculous it was. I dunno, Cat screaming would make me laugh sometimes lmao.
So yeah, my thoughts for this episode are all over the place, so to sum it up, it’s still decent.
42. Golf!
This is one is okay, but I do have an issue with it due to the character inconsistencies. The biggest one being Kae cheating, and Cat being dumb enough to believe her while Stumpy managed to not fall for her lie. Huh? I can kind of see it from a detail of Kaeloo having faults of her own and not liking when she’s wrong when she actually is. I don’t mind if that was the point, but it was still odd to watch.
Aside from a few visual gags and jokes, this one’s still mid.
41. Tennis
Okay this one is a bit of fun. I like how Cat becomes Kae and Stumpy’s coach and then later favoring them as a part of him cheating. I can see why since Quack-Quack’s pretty much a god in this game, and this little detail would be brought up again somewhat in Season 2’s Baseball. The only difference here is that Kaeloo refused to cheat to win. Also, a few visual gags and the slow-motion jokes were funny.
Overall, not bad ep.
40. Figurines
It’s insane how this went from playing with figurines to an incident where you sign a contract from the Devil to gain voodoo powers, amazing. Cat being Quack’s servant from the voodoo fiasco was the highlight, hilarious stuff. Also, Kaeloo making her and Cat’s figurines kiss…think of that as you will 😉.
But yeah, it’s still decent, but entertaining at least.
39. Treasure Hunt
Yeah, this one isn’t that bad either. Cat’s various traps made for some intense moments and fun gags. Also Kae, no offense, but I kind of agree with Stumpy here. A picture of your face as the surprise is kind of lame. Overall, not bad of an episode!
38. The Thing From Outer Space
I can’t believe that Quack-Quack would throw away his adopted child/pet for some yogurt. Man…
This episode’s strength is the quote-on-quote “thing from outer space”, and it got intriguing as to what this thing really is, and the twist of it’s revelation was a good one, won’t spoil it here. Also the music choice for this one is nice.
Wish it could have been a lot funnier, but this one is still not bad of a watch.
37. …
Okay, I have a confession to make. I know you will not like this, but I have to say it upfront. This is my opinion, and it’s alright if you disagree with me and my thoughts. So read this clear when I say that the episode I put in this tier is…
37. Courtroom Drama
Yeah, that’s right. Courtoom Drama is mid.
Now, I know some of you guys are looking at me and saying: “House, have you been smoking candyweed? You cannot be serious!” Don’t worry, I am completely serious.
I knew about how much this episode is hated by some fans of the show, and I was in sort of the bandwagon at first. But the more I rewatched it, the more I began to realize that it’s kind of okay. But why do people hate it so much? Simple: the ending itself. Where Kaeloo turned out to be faking her sadness of leaving Smileyland to trick Mr. Cat into confessing his crime, who in turn attempted to be genuine.
I can see why this can be angering to some, but upon realizing it, I didn’t think it was that awful of an ending. To be fair, while Mr. Cat did try his best to make it up to Kaeloo, he did bait her and the court into making her guilty using Bad Kaeloo as an example. So while the punishment he got was really harsh, I will admit, I still think he kind of deserved it.
Aside from that, the rest of the episode was surprisingly fun. There were some gags I laughed hard at, like Stumpy as the judge and Cat’s fake as hell flashback to the crime scene which I’m sure was meant to emulate Kae’s daily life.
So to add it up, it’s a decent episode. I can greatly understand why you guys hate it, and that’s okay! I am fine with your opinions on this one as long as you’re fine with mine’s. Plus, there are episodes of the series that I consider to be waaaay worse than this one, especially an episode that I despise the most. Also there’s another episode later down the line that has somewhat of a similar ending to this one, but not great. We will get to those two points eventually, I’ll let you know. So again, I think Courtroom Drama is alright, but if you hate it, more power to you.
36. Doctors and Nurses/Doctors
Oh my lord is that title card nasty, ewww! Like I understand that it’s meant to represent the episode about a character being sick, but STILL, IT’S SO GROSS!
*takes a deep breath* Okay, I’m cool.
The hospital jokes were admittingly funny and strangely accurate. Cat was entertaining, as always. And poor Stumpy, my boy dead and nobody even cares, man…
Not a bad episode, overall!
35. Detectives
This was a kind of a fun time. I liked how it made fun of detective movies and did a take on how old school and modern advanced detectives handled cases. The revelation of the mystery is admittedly odd and doesn’t really make any sense, but I’m sure it’s meant not to be taken seriously, and I can accept that. Also props to Kae’s VA man, he really nailed that deep voice, bruh. Once again, decent, but not bad.
Okay, so that was rather lengthy, but let’s finally get to the good stuff!
Good Tier
34. Simon Says!
Now this one ain’t so bad. This is probably one of the eps in the show where Cat is at his cruelest, robbing Kae of her money to forcing Quack to strip, jeez my dude.
A few jokes were decent, the one with Kae’s lisp comes to mind. And the opening short at the beginning was pretty cute.
That’s it, good stuff!
33. Super Powers
This is the most anime the show has ever been.
I thought that the buddies would get their own powers, hence the title, but instead they get it from these training cards. So, this whole episode feels more like a Yu-Gi-Oh parody if anything, with some notable references to boot, which are neat.
Major F to Stumpy, Quack’s just too unbeatable. Oh, and Cat too, he suffered a lot here.
So yeah, it’s not bad.
32. Art Class
As an art lover myself, I was impressed with the jokes surrounding how art is treated in the critical viewpoint and in the topic of currency. I digged it. Also, I actually was amused as Kae whenever she said that Stump’s art is trash and I said out loud “Yo, just look at your art!”, haha!
Good episode, wished it was more funnier though.
31. Hide N’ Hunt
This is one of the few episodes that proves that this show is an early form of Squid Game.
The problem with this episode for me is the clone thing. A few moments, they seemingly have a mind of their own, like with Stumpy’s clones for example. But most of the time they’re like holograms or something where they just repeat whatever their original host is saying. Having all three of them talk at times can be a bit confusing and annoying, kind of wish they handled them a bit better.
Aside from that, it’s still good, not much else to say.
30. Baby-Sitting
Oh boy oh boy, it’s the episode where we get some full on Kaelat, finally!
I thought this episode was okay first time, but upon rewatch, heh you know, it’s kinda funny! So this is I assume the first episode of the series to have 2 plots of sorts, and the results are rather mixed. Okay, the Kaelat First Date Fling was boring. It didn’t really add much in my opinion, aside from some interesting character lore, and for Kae and Cat to have a moment together at least. Also Cat attempting to uh…do that certain thing was kind of amusing at first watch, but nowadays it’s really awkward and I don’t like it.
Although, Stumpy attempting to “practice babysit” Quack was funny though, and the highlight for me. And it also had a rather funny ending.
So a weak B-plot with the Kaelat “date”, but the A-plot made up for it, so it’s not a bad outing!
29. House/Papa-Maman
Oh my gosh I’m in a Kaeloo episode, dreams do some true!
Joking aside, what I really like about this episode is not only the jokes involving this not-so-perfect family, but also an analysis involving the group dynamics between them. Kaeloo gets some harsh truths when she realizes how far she had gone into the game, forcing Stumpy and Quack-Quack into the roles they didn’t even want to, which causes them to leave. Mr. Cat’s actions as the father didn’t help either, which many fans including me speculated that it’s in turn due to how he was treated by his own family. And less said about the certain couch scene between Cat and Kae, the better.
This leads into me saying that I’m not a fan of Kae and Cat’s “romance” in Season 1. I assume the intention was that they aren’t as close as expected. This in turn causes one of them to make the other annoyed or uncomfortable. And scenes like the kiss scene in Peace Man and this episode’s couch scene really made things awkward. A similar conflict resides in the buddies’ relationships with each other, where the broken family seems to reflect on the fact that there’s some issues within them.
But then, there’s the ending. Kaeloo realizes what she’s done and goes to apologize to Stumpy and Quack-Quack for her behavior. They then forgive her, and Stumpy even offers Kae his game controller when she asks him for it. It made me say “aww” aloud whenever I rewatch this moment. It makes me appreciate the series for the fact that while it is mean-spirited at times, and that the buddies due tend to get into disputes, they still do care for each other. The later seasons greatly exemplify this, especially Kae and Cat’s relationship, but that discussion will be saved at a later date.
Overall, while it’s not my favorite Kaeloo episode, I still think it’s special to me because of these aforementioned reasons. Still has some nice jokes, and that sweet ending that puts this higher on my list.
…Also, what in the hell was up with that title card in the French dub?
28. Hot-Cold
Aside from the suicidal visuals which I did not like, this was rather fun!
It was sweet of the buddies helping out Stumpy with his first date with Ursula, even when their attempts where kind of disastrous, but again, their hearts were in the right place and thankfully things seem to turn out well.
Also, I got a major vibe from Season 4’s All Alone. Mainly because of the details from the beginning of this ep, like Kae playing by herself, Cat mentioning the alley cat parties. Interesting stuff, unsure if this was some crazy ass foreshadowing or not.
Overall, neat stuff!
Great Tier
Alright, now we finally reached the episodes I thought were great! Not my all-time favorites, but still a close second.
27. Reading Books
This one was pretty funny! I know some people would be mixed over the scenes involving the porno mags, but I think they aren’t that bad. I think they go well with the little humorous feud between Cat and Quack over them. It reminded me of those old school 40s/50s cartoons such as Tex Avery. And as a massive fan of his stuff plus the fact that cartoons like this were an inspiration to Kaeloo, I am greatly impressed!
What I am not impressed with is the ending where Kae checked out Cat’s “goods” when he turned into a book at the end. I did get the intention of the joke they were making so I can understand. But bro, this was considered the first Kaelat moment? Wow.
Also, poor Stumps man, the earlier eps didn’t treat him so kindly, but it’s a given really.
Overall, I liked it a lot, not bad.
26. Trap-Trap
A simple one, but still neat. Quack-Quack’s yogurt withdraw was the highlight, which made for some funny jokes and admittedly creepy moments, especially that ending, oof.
Also the Kaelat “hug” was cute and funny, nothing else to say, it’s great.
25. TV News!
I personally relate to Kae when it comes to heavy topics on the news. And while it’s tough seeing reports on something so tragic, it’s still what I and other people have to take into consideration. Regardless, I still feel bad for her.
For some levity, there were some good jokes, Cat is amazing as always, Stumps as well.
So yeah, great ep!
24. Astronauts
This was a really fun episode. Okay, I had a few problems like that certain slur Alt!Stumps said, and of course the ending where the buddies prank Stumpy over that nightmare he had.. Should have ended with him during his therapy session, tbh.
Other than those problemas, I still liked it!
The concept of the main cast meeting their other selves in another dimension is a concept I like, and it has been brought up more in future episodes, and even a story in the official comic. A few fans had also got into making ideas for it, and I do wanna get into it too one day.
So it’s still great, despite the cruel twist ending.
23. Spies
Spies isn’t the strongest of the roleplaying episodes, nor is it my personal favorite (Season 2 Ranking for more info), but I still digged it!
The highlight was obviously the truth serum scene. I am sure that this scene was just crumbs of character lore, headcanons, and theories for the fans, including me, to tear into. Pretty sad stuff, though Stumpy’s truths were treated as comedic though.
I loved the jokes, including Stumpy’s attempts of being the traitor and constantly failing.
Still great, overall!
22. Para-Normal/Paranormal Stuff
Ghostbusters references, I see what you did there, Kaeloo crew!
This is kind of an underrated episode, in my opinion. I admired the supernatural shenanigans, and the boss battles, being an obvious nod to Ghostbusters. It also has a few concepts that I’m sure was brought up again in Season 3’s The Door, like the journeying to a world within one’s head or something like that. Maybe that’s just me, but whatever, fun romp.
21. Guess Who
Really funny stuff! Fun gags, a neat game concept, and of course, Stumpy and Quack’s emotional and compelling breakup arc. Truly a breathtaking experience.
20. Danger Survivor Island
I thought this episode was good, and nothing else the first time I watched it. But overtime, I grew to like it a lot more, and I see why other fans too!
The selling point here was Kae, where her selfishness on how the “Danger Island” should be from her way by making it cutesy, rather than how it’s intended. This causes her to be voted out of the game in the end, which feels like a nice change of pace since this time around she’s in the wrong.
I loved the gags, especially the voting drawings! Quack-Quack could draw so well, amazing stuff.
Not a personal favorite, but I still love it!
19. Gangster Poker
Now this was neat! Cat was a nice antagonist, very ruthless though regarding him pulling a ransom on Kae and he got a well-deserved punishment.
Stumpy being Cat’s sidekick was neat, along with the funny gags of him constantly nicknaming him. And then he pulls the betrayal plan to become the boss only for that to fail badly. I love it. Also, I love the scene of Kae and Cat yelling at each other’s names, kind of adorable.
Side note, I feel like this episode gives out a hint towards Cat’s backstory, but maybe that’s just me.
All in all, great ep.
18. Happy Rotter
Not a Harry Potter fan, but even then, I still think the parody of the series is not bad!
Though, a problem I have is Quack-Quack’s trauma, as his backstory along with the death of his parents were introduced here. The way they handled it was mixed to me, since they used it as a running gag and eventually a Chekhov’s Gun at the end to defeat Cat. It’s a fine use of black comedy but I don’t know, I’m just not a fan of it.
On the plus side, the gags were funny, the spells were pretty creative, and of course, Mr. Cat’s goth outfit! Peak drip right there.
17. Me-No-Nopoly
I got nothing much to say about Me-No-Nopoly, other than it’s a banger. The jokes are neat, and Quack realizing that he wants his friends back rather than being a corrupt king was sweet. Also, episodes like this and Season 4’s Your Rubber I’m Glue should be a reminder to never make Mr. Cat play God/king. Keyword: never.
16. Quest for the Wholly Gruel
I would love to place Wholly Gruel in my Awesome tier, if not for one thing: Nazi Cat. *sigh*
Now I do get what they were doing here. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Indiana Jones, which is what the episode is obviously parodying, but the first and third movies had nazis as the villains. So, the concept of having Cat being a villainous nazi is the intention I can understand, but still, it can be hard to stomach. Especially when he has the red band, and the symbol that resembles the swastika, and the book burning joke. That’s fine if you’re alright with it, but I can really understand why others don’t love it.
But thankfully, that’s like the only big problem I have with the episode. Everything else is really good!
The gags here make me laugh hard. Stumpy was the highlight, as he is unaware that he is putting his friends in real danger while he’s using the Gruel in wanting the prehistoric people drawings to die. Amazing. It is kind of cathartic, considering Kae locked him in the cavern earlier without him giving her a second thought.
Also the animation is really neat, aside from this weird lighting issue, the facial expressions and the action sequences are just awesome!
Fun Fact: this episode was featured at the Annecy Festival from 2011, in 3-D. Yeah, you heard me, 3-FLIPPING-D. Those lucky dudes! Also the Very Special Episode was also shown in Annecy in 2017, but not in 3-D. Kind of wished it did, since the animation from that ep was also great, but story for another day. Man I cannot wait to talk about Season 3, aargh!
Anyway, if not for Nazi Cat, then this would have been an easy S-tier. But hey, it’s placed at a high A, so it’s more of an honorable mention at least.
Alright, now we can finally get to the episodes that I really loved, the Just Awesome tier, AKA the placement for my favorite episodes, period.
So let’s get it rollin’!
JUST AWESOME
15. Streetball
Streetball is great because Mr. Cat raps and it’s epic, that’s it!
Okay but for real, the songs in this one is just great, easily top tier. Cat’s rap like I mentioned is again, epic. And the rap number with the main four is neat too, they didn’t need to make it, but they did and I love it.
I really loved the jokes here, Cat once again doing whatever he can to cheat his way though and Stumpy attempting to be this hip basketball player. I do relate to him when it comes to playing the game, it’s nice to watch, but man can it be hard sometimes.
So yeah, it’s a banger, especially because the songs are bangers.
14. Once Upon a Time
This was a total riot. Not only are the shades of fairy tales being graphic nice, but Stumpy’s own fairy tale story was just great. It’s exactly what imaginative 10 year olds would think of and I love it. It’s so goofy, and nonsensical, but it’s Stumpy, so you should know what you’re expecting.
It’s hard to believe that this episode got a sequel episode from Season 3, and while I loved that one too, I gotta give props to the OG.
13. Musical Chairs
Okay so funny story. When I first watched this episode, I considered it to be decent, with a few gags I loved.
But now? Upon rewatch, this is one of the couple of episodes in the whole show to make me laugh hard. That’s probably a me thing, but damn it, this one was just a riot!
We have Cat being freaking extra over cheating his way to beat Quack-Quack. One example has Stumpy tripping Kae with his foot, and then you have Quack-Quack getting chased by Mr. Cat, who’s driving a car while attempting to slice him with a chainsaw. The moment I saw this scene, I just lost it. The fact that my dude decided to use a car, as opposed to just running was just incredible.
And then it gets wilder. Stumpy bonds with the leftover chairs, to the point where some almighty force grants him his wish to make them alive, which evolves into a full on revolution for their rights! And then this causes Cat and Quack to team up to take them down, but they’re defeated anyway.
This episode was just a straight up wacky experience, but hey, that’s Kaeloo for ya, and I love it so much. I’m so happy I gave this episode another shot, definitely will rewatch this again sometime!
12. Grown Ups
Weird to place this one on this specific tier, but I ended up loving it more than I thought. This is where we see that Cat cares for the buddies, and they do it in a subtle way where even if he acts like his usual self, the goal of him trying to bring them back to their old selves is surprisingly sweet.
The different bad futures each of the buddies partake lead into were interesting and had a few funny gags. I mean Quack becomes a literal god, not surprising to be honest, haha.
So yeah, really loved this one, even if others might not see it, which is perfectly fine.
11. Time Travel
Hands down, one of the most underrated episodes of Kaeloo. I just love this episode for the character interactions. I mentioned before that this type of comedy is what makes the show neat, and I just loved the buddies just vibing along in their time travel shenanigans. The Bob the Duck Skewer plot does die down early, but that’s a small complaint.
Also Kaeloo’s future is kind of horrifying, I ain’t gonna spend my time there, no thanks!
This episode has a special place in my heart overall, don’t mind rewatching it when there’s a pretty sunset like what happens in this episode. Dunno, whenever I look at the sun setting from my window, I just think of this episode.
10. Driver’s Ed
The DMV sucks, and everyone knows it. I’ve seen a few shows do their own roast on how horrible that place is, so far The Looney Tunes Show. I’ve yet to watch Megas XLR, but that one clip of Coop destroying the DMV repeatedly is just hysterical. And I think Kaeloo’s take on it is also great.
You have jokes on how driver’s ed would be like to some people, from the anxiety to those kinds of teachers. Good lord was Cat ruthless to Quack this way, jeez. You root for Stumpy here, and it was nice seeing him get somewhat of a win, even if he still crashed. And again, it’s weird that he needed driving lessons here, where in the early episodes, he can learn how to drive! How does that make sense!?
Whatever, it’s a banger, really funny and enjoyable.
9. Prison Ball
Ah yes, the very first episode of Kaeloo! I can see this as a classic episode and for a good reason.  It’s a great introduction to the characters and how their quirks play off here. Cat doing his usual trickery against Quack, Kae trying to keep the peace while vibing, and Stumpy thinking the prison ball game is an actual prison.
I think Red Light, Green Light is stronger, but this is still a nice first impression to start off with.
8. 1, 2, 3 Soleil!/Red Light, Green Light
Ah yes, the original Squid Game!
But yeah, I love Prison Ball, but this to me is the real introduction to this show and the characters. I find it really neat how this was a remake of the OG pilot, just improved the animation along with adding a few new jokes to add in time, like that hilarious opener with Stumpy, and Quack-Quack being happy that he’s flying for a few seconds. So far, I’ve seen shows like Regular Show played this straight, and Phineas and Ferb doing this with a unique spin by making their pilot episode a musical. That’s something I really like about this concept, letting us know that these shows have evolved over time.
Okay I’m just rambling, it’s overall a great one.
7. Market Vendors
Market Vendors is on the list of Kaeloo episodes that make me lose my mind of laughter. In case you’re wondering, that has yet to be done since most of them are too hard to rank.
So for this one, it’s just funny all around. Well, aside from the ending, which still is funny, specifically that once certain light switch gag. But in hindsight, I feel like it’s kind of awkward to laugh at sometimes regarding recent news events over related incidents.
Although, the rest of the gags are neat! Stumpy’s attempts to bring in customers was cute. And I love how Cat evolved from customer to security guard to robber, insane growth level.
6. Cowboys and Indians
Cowboys and India—wait. COWBOYS YOU SAY!?!? Okay okay, story for another time, aka Season 2 Ranking.
Okay, going in, I heard that this episode was racist. And while watching it, I was sort of confused until it got to the scenes with Stumpy as the Indian. And yeah, it was not great. But thankfully, unlike Nazi Cat, it’s not for too long and is thankfully overshadowed by the main plot.
Which, in my opinion—IS FREAKING AWESOME!
Cat is an incredible antagonist, major kudos to his VA for bringing in the menacing and badass vibes. Plus the action here is nice, and aside from the Indian scenes, the rest of the jokes are neat too.
Not sure if the Stumpy Indian scenes were like the only racist parts in the episodes, let me know if there were some I missed. But aside from those scenes, it’s goated, really loved it.
5. Prince Charming
Okay, so I’m going to put plenty of all-caps here and also a bit of swearing, so if that’s alarming to you then I am sorry but this episode and my number one spot had moments that were so incredible, that I must put my words in uppercase. Okay, here I go…
*deep breath*
HOLY FUCK IS THE FIGHT SCENE SO FUCKING GOOD WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK
WE HAVE CAT USING A BAZOOKA AND A CHAINSAW WHILE FIGHTING QUACK-QUACK, WHO ONLY USES A SWORD AND HIS BARE FISTS.
THE WAY HOW THE FIGHT WAS CHOREOGRAPHS, IT’S SIMPLE DYNAMICS YET SO DAMN COOL.
WHY ARE THE FIGHTS THIS SEASON SO GOOD, WHAT THE HELL.
AAAAAAAAHHHHH I LOVE FIGHT SCENES SO MUCCCCCCCHHHH.
*clears throat* Okay I’m good.
Anyway yeah, it’s goated. It also has simple stuff like Stump’s misadventures within Fakebook which is also hilarious. I liked Kae as Quack’s squire and the Sphinx scenes, and Mr. Cat’s “oh yeah” face.
BUT THAT FIGHT SCENE MAN, HOLY HELL.
4. Air Pockets
Okay I have no idea why this is called Air Pockets, kind of a weird title. But with that aside, this is also a funny as hell episode. I loved the jokes regarding what’s like being in an airplane, along with some dark humor that’s shocking (like the terrorist scene for example, oof) but also admittingly hysterical, mostly with Cat being the sadistic, entertaining pilot.
And wow, first Stumpy managed to drive a car by learning from video games, and now a plane? I guess the moral is that video games can make you learn to control transportation!
(Warning: do not attempt unless it’s proven true)
3. Tea Party
Tea Party is just funny. I mean really, really, really funny.
The character-based comedy is strong here with neat conversations and running gags. You feel sorry for Kaeloo here, but also fear her the moment she finally snaps. Lesson learned: never disrupt Kae’s tea party. There shall be mighty consequences for all who oppose…
But yeah, excellent stuff!
2. Bye Bye Yogurt
I can’t believe that this episode made me feel sorry for an expired yogurt. I don’t know how it managed to do that, but here we are.
I gotta say, a few of the sequences here animated so well. From the buddies doing their typical fun, to Stumpy’s creative way of getting in danger, to the ending where Quack-Quack says goodbye to Yogo’s spirit. It was a little emotional, and how it was handled without any dialogue as the music swells was a nice touch.
Also, Mr. Cat being nice during the funeral? To cheering up Stumpy about his grandmother’s funeral to giving Quack-Quack a gift? Now that’s good stuff.
Definitely a great one. And while this one was top tier, my number one pick is even better…
NUMBER ONE!!
1. Scaredy Cat
Okay so warning, I will once again use all-caps and excessive swearing so be warned…
*deep breath*
THIS. EPISODE. ROCKS!!!!
BEST EPISODE OF THE ENTIRE DAMN SHOW, FULL STOP, NO LIE.
THE ANIMATION, HOLY FUCK, THE ANIMATION.
I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS SERIES STARTED OUT IN 2010, THAT IS SO IMPRESSIVE. I’M NOT A SUPER ANIMATION ANALYST BUT IT’S STILL COOL TO SEE THIS SORT OF STYLE EMMULATED SO NICELY. WHY DOES SEASON 1 HAVE SUCH GOATED ACTION AND FIGHT SCENES. I MEAN SEASON 4 PEAKED WITH THE ANIMATION, BUT THIS EPISODE? THIS WAS JUST TOP TIER.
ALSO STUMPY DANCING WITH THE ZOMBIES TO THE THRILLER PARODY, TO THE ENDING REFERENCING THE MUSIC VIDEO.
AND MR. CAT. OH MY FUCKING GOD, MR. GODDAMN CAT WAS IN HIS PEAK. HE WAS JUST AN ABSOLUTE BADASS. LIKE WE KNOW HE CAN MANAGE USING LETHAL WEAPONS, BUT IT’S MOSTLY ON QUACK-QUACK. HERE?? WE SEE HIM TAKE DOWN A HORDE OF ZOMBIE YOGURTS AND TRY TO MANHANDLE A ZOMBIFIED QUACK AND BADKA. YEAH YOU HEARD ME. BAD KAELOO. I WANNA SEE CAT FIGHT LIKE THIS AGAIN, IT’S BEEN 13 YEARS BRO, I WANNA SEE HIM DO THIS STUFF AGAIN.
IT'S JUST PEAK. SIMPLY PEAK. BEST EPISODE OF SEASON ONE BY FAR, I LOVE IT SO MUCH AAAAAAHHHH.
……okay that was a lot of uppercasing.
Final Thoughts
Kaeloo Season 1 isn’t my favorite season of the show. It’s by no means a bad season, far from it! It’s still a good season overall, but it’s one where I don’t have complete hype for compared to the other seasons.
Season 1 had some really good humor, character moments, and some impressive animation. But I thought it suffered a bit from having a couple of plots that didn’t invested me, some jokes that I didn’t laughed at or didn’t aged well, or not every character bit winning me over. That’s probably in part due to the number of episodes that were just mediocre. Only 2 episodes were bad and only 16 episodes where mid. That may seem a bit disappointing, but I’m completely fine with it! I’m thankful things didn’t end up worse. I much rather have a sea of mid than a sea of garbage. And at least said sea of mid is still tolerable to watch!
On the bright side, the episodes that I thought were great, are still great. It honestly wasn’t annoying to try and yearn for the best parts when watching Season 1 in order. Maybe slightly boring, I will admit, but the binge was still worth it.
So to conclude, Kaeloo Season 1 may be a bit rocky, but I still think this season is really darn good. Bunch of classic episodes to be rewatched here, won’t mind doing so sometime.

interior designer near me,
interior designer near me,
If you're thinking about transforming your living space, hiring an interior designer can be a game changer. Whether you're renovating an existing room, redesigning an entire home, or just looking for expert advice, the right interior designer can help you bring your vision to life. Here's how to find the perfect interior designer near you.
Why Hire an Interior Designer?
Interior designers are professionals who are skilled in creating functional, aesthetically pleasing spaces. They understand color schemes, furniture arrangement, lighting, and the finer details that can make a space both beautiful and comfortable. By hiring an interior designer, you’ll ensure that your home is not only stylish but also well-organized and personalized to your needs.
Here are a few reasons to consider hiring a designer:
Expertise: Designers bring years of experience and knowledge of the latest trends and styles.
Time-saving: Instead of spending hours sourcing materials or deciding on color schemes, an interior designer handles these tasks efficiently.
Budget management: Designers can help you work within your budget, finding creative ways to achieve your vision without overspending.
Unique perspective: Designers often provide a fresh perspective that you might not have thought of, helping to elevate the overall design.
How to Find the Right Interior Designer Near You
Finding an interior designer near you is easier than ever with modern tools and resources. Here’s how to narrow down your options:
Start with Online Search Engines Begin by searching for “interior designers near me” or “best interior designers in [your city].” Online platforms like Google and Yelp provide lists of designers, complete with ratings, reviews, and contact details. This is a great way to assess which designers have a good reputation and positive feedback from past clients.
Check Social Media Many interior designers use social media platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Houzz to showcase their work. These platforms give you a visual sense of their style and help you decide if it aligns with your vision. You can even message designers directly to inquire about their services.
Ask for Referrals Word-of-mouth recommendations are always valuable. Ask friends, family, or colleagues if they’ve worked with an interior designer they would recommend. Personal referrals can often lead to discovering someone reliable and trustworthy.
Consider Your Style Not every interior designer works in the same style. Some might specialize in contemporary designs, while others focus on traditional, rustic, or minimalist interiors. It’s important to find someone who understands your personal taste and vision for your space. Browse through their portfolio to get a sense of their work.
Visit Showrooms and Design Centers Many interior designers work closely with furniture stores and showrooms, and they often have physical offices or design centers. Visiting these places allows you to see their work in person and ask for consultations. You may even find inspiration for your own design while browsing these spaces.
Questions to Ask an Interior Designer
Before hiring an interior designer, make sure you ask the right questions to ensure they’re the right fit for your project:
What’s your design style? Ask for examples of their past work to see if their style aligns with your vision.
What is your experience with my project type? Whether it’s a kitchen renovation, office redesign, or home decor update, you want a designer with experience in the type of project you’re planning.
What’s your budget range? Make sure they can work within your budget, and discuss how much they charge for their services.
How do you approach a project from start to finish? It’s important to understand their process—whether they offer full-service design, a consultation-only approach, or something in between.
Can you provide references? Ask for testimonials or references from past clients to gauge their satisfaction with the designer’s work.
Conclusion
Whether you're planning a major home renovation or just need advice on styling a single room, finding the right interior designer near you can make all the difference. Start by doing your research, considering your style, and asking the right questions. With the help of a skilled professional, you can create a beautiful, functional space that truly feels like home.
Start your search today and take the first step toward transforming your home with the perfect interior designer by your side.
