Steve was a ghost who haunted his best friend.
Tumblr media
Steve had died in that interrogation room under Starcourt and now, he was stuck haunting Robin Buckley who might as well be his shortest heartbreak and long-lost twin.
The problem was she couldn't see or touch him.
No, she could hear him just fine, but physical contact was just impossible.
Steve, however, didn't care much so long as he had someone there to listen to his daily monologues. It was fun.
They bickered most of the time and while Robin always seemed sad that she couldn't hug him whenever he told her about his parents or how lonely he used to be before her, Steve was just happy with what he got.
Because even in death, he wasn't alone, and that was enough of a gift to him.
Then, the day his funeral was held, Steve was thankful that he had convinced Robin to attend considering it was how he reunited with the kids.
They all saw him.
A thing that Steve would never take for granted.
Robin didn't know what to do when they flocked around her and bombarded her with question after question, demanding to know why she was the one who got the privilege of being haunted by Steve.
"A privilege?" Robin burst into a laugh, giving them a ridiculous look.
"Of course, to think you've been haunted and actually having real conversations with a ghost every day is a revolutionary step into the spiritual science field," Dustin narrowed his eyes. "And I am very disappointed in you, Ms. Robin Buckley, for not telling me right away!"
"Just say you're jealous that Steve doesn't haunt you." Max rolled her eyes.
"You say it as if you're not jealous yourself!" Mike scowled at her.
"No, I'm not, you delusional nerd!" Max scowled back.
"Hey!"
"C'mon guys, don't fight," Lucas frowned and sighed in exasperation.
Noticing the odd looks from other people at the cemetery, Robin herded the kids into Steve's car that he had given her as a keepsake.
Once they were safely away from prying eyes, Robin clapped her hands to gather everyone's attention.
"Children!" She then continued under their curious gazes. "Steve-o here said he really appreciates that you munchkins care so much about him. But sadly, he can't leave my side. Like literally can't so if any of you want to see him, you can always seek me out whenever you see fit."
"Why are you saying all of this?" Mike squinted at her.
"Because Steve can't talk to us, obviously." Dustin responded haughtily, earning an eye roll from the other boy.
"Bingo!" Robin did a fist bump with Dustin.
Then, she held up a finger at them. "And before you ask, I can't see him. Or touch him."
She watched the kids look at the passenger seat before nodding at her.
It must be Steve who confirmed the truth, she thought.
As they went back to discussing Steve's incorporeal state, Robin had a feeling that she had unknowingly adopted a gaggle of troublesome ducklings who were going to give her grey hair very very soon.
Tumblr media
"C'mon Robbie, it's a Halloween party," Steve begged. "Let's go have some fun! Don't your heart ache to watch your bestest friend rotting in sorrow while eating pumpkins?"
"First of all, I've never ever met anyone who uses 'heart' and 'ache' like that," Robin blew at her freshly painted nails.
"Well, now I'm your first. Didn't people always say special always come late?"
"I don't even want to correct you on all of that," Robin huffed quietly at Steve's goofy chuckle. "And no, Dingus, you don't eat pumpkins. Or if you do, I don't care."
"Please, Robbie, I just wanna have fun," Steve sighed dolefully. "It's been a long time ago since I went to a party." He sighed again and even sniffled a little.
When Robin groaned, a big grin stretched on his lips.
"Just this time." She narrowed her eyes at him, or precisely speaking, at the spot where she assumed he was sitting.
Sometimes, when she made a wrong guess, Steve would just move over to where her gaze stopped and continue talking her ears off.
"I promise you're gonna have so much fun, Robbie." Steve ruffled her hair even if his hand always passed right through her. It was still one of his hard-to-get-rid-of habits anyway.
By the time they arrived, the party was already full-blown and swarmed with people.
As Robin struggled her way through the crowd, Steve just walked beside her with barely any difficulties.
He bet she would curse him so much if she saw how comfortable he looked right now.
But then, his little moment of joy was cut short when he bumped into someone whose lips literally knocked against his.
As cliché as it might sound, he certainly felt the electricity running through his body from that single accidental kiss.
And belatedly, a realization dawned on him.
He had bumped right into someone.
He, a ghost, had bodily collided with a living human.
Shocked, Steve stepped back and was at a loss for what to do next.
Then, a shaky voice shook him out of his trance.
"Harrington?"
Staring into those scared Bambi's eyes, Steve clenched his jaw and forced himself to not panic.
"Munson."

Oh yeah, and it's fem reader bc that's what I'm best at writing for-
(ALSO OTHER PERSON WHO REQUESTED SHADOW MILK, I SEE YOU. MORE IS ON THE WAY.)
Tumblr media
Shadow Milk x Reader
Oneshot (Part 2/2)
Warnings: Sexual scenes, hair-pulling, scratching, biting, oral, marking, teasing, swearing, possessiveness. MINORS, DNI.
-Jealousy, Jealousy-
Now in the privacy of your own bedroom, Shadow Milk Cookie had free reign over your body.
You had already been pinned to the bed, Shadow Milk still wearing that sly grin.
"Doll, you didn't forget about me, right?"
Lean fingers would tug on the collar of your shirt.
"You didn't forget about this, right~?"
Shadow Milk nudges his knee between your legs, beginning to separate them.
His lips would meet with yours, and he would kiss you desperately.
He pulled your shirt over your head, soon pulling down your skirt as well. It didn't take long before he too removed his clothing.
Your face flushed, but Shadow Milk did not stop pressing his lips against yours.
Fingers would travel across your back as he unclipped your bra before tossing them half-hazardly somewhere else in the room.
His hand slowly massaged your breast, rolling your nipples every once in a while. All of your sounds were absorbed by his mouth as he choked you with his tongue.
Shadow Milk then moved to kissing your neck, slowly trailing down the center of your body.
"Doll, you're already soaked.. and yet I've barely touched you," he would say with amusement.
He discarded your already wet panties and began to separate your legs with his hands.
Shadow Milk Cookie would tease you, first only licking a slow and long line along your folds.
When you began to squirm, he held your waist down onto the bed.
"Don't move too much, alright?"
He would pick up his pace, licking and sucking more of your slick.
"Oh Dove, you taste divine~"
His voice would send a vibration into your core, only increasing the pleasure.
Shadow Milk simply couldn't resist anymore.
Your taste, the sounds you would make, how you'd squirm.
He just had to have you already.
Shadow Milk would eat you out like he had been starved for weeks. Sloppily licking, devouring you, fucking you with his tongue.
You needed something to grab onto by how much euphoria he was giving you.
As if by instinct, you'd grab a fistful of his hair and tug, whimpering and whining about how good he felt.
God, that drove him over the edge.
You had no idea what you did to him- how drunk off of you he could get.
He'd taste you more, because he needed to feel you cum on his face already- And it didnt take long before you did.
He drank all of it, since letting any go would be a waste.
You were already trembling, but if you thought he was finished here, then you'd be poorly mistaken.
He still wasn't satisfied.
Shadow Milk Cookie crawled back on top of you, gazing at you with lustful eyes.
You just looked so cute with that fucked out face. How could he resist?
His mouth would reunite with yours as he took both of your hands and pinned them to the bed-frame.
You could taste yourself on his tongue.
Everything was absolutely sinful.
He folded you in half, pushing your knees to your chest as he threw your legs over his shoulders.
You could feel his hardness brushing against your entrance, teasing you.
"Do you want it~?" He asked you with that snide grin.
You would nod your head. You needed this.
"Beg."
"Fuck, Milk- I need this. Please give it to me. Please let me feel you inside of m-"
You couldn't finish before he had already inserted all of himself into you.
Shadow Milk Cookie bit down on you neck, thrusting in and out of you, over and over again.
Loud moans would escape your lips, feeling his sharp teeth against your skin and his throbbing length inside of you.
Your nails clawed at his back as you rolled your hips to match his pace, creating as much friction as possible.
You would tighten around him as he pounded into your spongy walls.
The room filled up with the lewd sounds of skin on skin.
You could feel your orgasm coming up for the second time this night, and Shadow Milk could feel it as well.
"Come on- Cum around me. Let me feel it all, doll," He'd say from in-between whines.
His pace quickened, just begging for you to release already.
Tears would prick the corners of your eyes from overstimulation. You couldn't hold it in for much longer, and you released once again. Not long after that, Shadow Milk pulled out and came onto your stomach.
His warmth was felt all across you, as the room was only filled with the sounds of heavy breaths.
"Let this be a little reminder of who you belong to."

Tumblr media
The human girl had beaten her - the woman of his nightmares - once and for all. At the first moment he could, Rhysand winnowed. After fifty years, he knew there was only one place he could go. After all, it was the last Sunday of the month, and that Sunday was the day he and his mate reserved just for themselves. The High Lord and Lady would not conduct any business on that day.
You'd spend most of your day on the balcony. You'd serenade him with the piano. You'd fly around Velaris - creating patterns in the air. You'd cradle each other in your arms. He'd sketch out a new drawing - trying and failing, in his opinion, to encapsulate your true beauty.
One day, he broke that promise, that vow you had made, and went to what he thought was a simple trade meeting. That morning was the last day he saw you, and he still couldn't live with himself.
Those memories alone kept him breathing at times. When Amarantha stole his bed, his body, his hope.
Then the human girl showed up, and he tried to help her. Wanted to give her what she needed to beat the beast he didn't think he'd ever escape. But he had lost the will to pray for it. To the cauldron, to the Mother Above. Despite his pessimism, she persevered. The girl had won. And then he was free.
He was on the balcony before he could even think about it. After a quick glance around, he realized it was empty. At first, he felt a pulse of disappointment, but with the realization of how long it'd been, he breathed deeply. How could he expect you to keep up the tradition? Fifty years of solitude on those Sundays would have made him mad if your roles were reversed.
At the thought, he allowed himself to feel the mating bond. It had gone cold the moment he winnowed away all those years ago, but now it was as beautiful as he remembered. The pull of another person at the end of a tether, forever binding them in the purest forms of fate.
But he heard your thoughts, and he almost broke down in sobs at the sound of your voice in his head. Please come home, my love. I don't know how to do this anymore. Please. The last word, you were begging. Your inner voice, the one he had to get used to living without, was broken. Pleading for him to return - despite everything you'd probably heard.
And with that, he took action, winnowing to every room in the house so he would find you as soon as possible. He knew you were close; your scent wasn't stale. It was fresh, clinging to every piece of furniture you owned together.
It was the last room he checked, his office, where he found you. You sat in his desk chair; the leather more worn than he remembered. But the sight of you stopped him from rushing to you. Nursing a bottle of wine, you slouched on your elbows, hands in your hair, as more thoughts streamed through the bond.
I'm losing myself, Rhys. I don't know how much more of this I can take. I can't let myself believe you won't come back because that- that will ruin me. What she's doing to you, what she's making you do. I don't even know a fraction of it, but I can't stop it. I- I can't protect you. And I hate myself for it.
He was watching you as you sent the words down the bond, the bond that had been desolate for half a century. You run your hands down your face, not looking up from your wine, the third of many you planned to drown in.
Just get through it. Please just- just survive. Do what you have to do to come home. I'll be here. I love you. My mate.
You'd only allowed yourself to talk to him once a month. Initially, you would try to send him something every day. Thoughts, images, songs you'd learned, prayers for him. You never heard anything back, and it slowly started eating away at you. It shattered your hope every time you didn't get a response.
You'd heard the rumors, Amarantha's whore, he'd been called. Every time you heard it, it ate away at you more and more. As if he would choose that - choose to warm the bed of another when you were waiting for him at home. You knew him better than that, and you winced at the thought. He wouldn't choose it, but would she force him? Was she that much of a monster?
You had to shake that thought away for the thousandth time that night, downing the rest of the glass. As you reach for the bottle, nearly empty at that point, a hand wraps around your wrist. The touch is gentle but firm - stopping you from drinking more, but not rough enough to hurt. Instead of startling at it, the wine slows your instincts. You can only stare. The tattoos on the dorsal side interweave into vines under the sleeve. Vines you know, vines that you've held, vines that have and will continue to have free rein of your body.
Faster than you thought you were capable of, your eyes flew to its owner's eyes. Violet. The most ravishing violet. Violet you'd feared you were forgetting.
With a new urgency, you pulled yourself to your feet, your hands flying up to his face without thinking. One on his cheek, the other on his neck, pushing, pulling, grabbing, unsure if it was your mind playing tricks on you.
In your desperate touch, you missed the way he flinched.
His hands. Mother Above, his beautiful hands were on your neck too, placed at the sides. When your mind would play you for a fool, it would never let you touch him, let alone allow him to reach you. But there he was, and you could feel him. You tugged at the bond, finally noticing it was warm and delicate and sweet and serene and everything you wished you knew how to describe.
He breathed your name, barely a whisper. "I'm home, my darling. I'm home."
"You're here." The words barely escaped you, and you couldn't stop the tears. He didn't hesitate a moment, pulling you in for a frustratingly rare and fierce embrace. You clung to each other for dear life, tighter and tighter and tighter, like he'd disappear if you let him go. Frankly, you weren't convinced he wouldn't. "You're really here."
You stood like that for a while, holding each other, when he ultimately pulled away first. "Rh-Rhys, don't go-"
"I'm not," he promised, his voice raw, kissing your forehead. He took in every inch of your face. "I just wanted to look at you. My mate."
Tumblr media
Since Rhys had been freed by the human girl, nothing had been normal. Not that you expected it to be, but you didn't anticipate just how awful a recovery for him would be. He couldn't share your bed, and you didn't mean that in a sexual manner. He couldn't sleep with anyone else in his room - if he had even been sleeping at all. He could barely stand to be touched. You knew he wanted to be able to let you, but every time you seemed to blink, he would flinch.
You had suspicions about what went on under the mountain, but you had no idea it would be so evil.
He stood before a cabinet, staring blankly into it, lost in a memory - a memory he'd been refusing to share. You understood why, but something in you told you that you needed to see. Not just for curiosity's sake but to know how to help him. Even if it was past your pay grade.
"Rhys," You called quietly for the second time. You didn't want to touch him, shock him back to reality. The fear of that setting him off more held you back. With a harsh and sudden breath, he fearfully glanced at you and around the room, forgetting where he was for a moment. "You're at home, Rhys. You came home."
"I'm sorry," He rasped, ignoring your words. His hands pulled at his hair, and you were nervous he'd start ripping it out. He backed away from you, so far away he was caught by the wall. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Your own formed at the sight of his tears, but you couldn't conjure up what he'd have to apologize for. "It's okay, honey, you're safe. It's okay."
"I didn't- I didn't want it. I swear on my life, I didn't want to."
You shook your head, not understanding. But you knew asking what he was apologizing for was the wrong thing to do. You could see it, the shame, the regret, the blame. "I know you didn't."
He squeezed his eyes shut, buried his face in his hands, and sank to the floor. He kept murmuring apologies, pleading for your forgiveness. "I betrayed you, you have to- you have to leave me."
His words shocked you, and now you were the one that flinched. "Rhysand, look at me." He visibly shrunk at the command, pulling his hands away from his face. "As far as I'm concerned, anything that happened...there...is the furthest thing from your fault. I know there are things you can't tell me, and that's okay. I'll be here when you're ready-"
"I can't!" He bellowed. "You'll never forgive-"
"Show me the memory." You demanded, your voice quiet but assertive. But you wouldn't push too hard if he was adamant about keeping you out. You knew. You knew. Based on the way he had been acting, what had happened. But you also knew he needed to show you. So someone, fucking someone, would tell him it was out of his control. He couldn't govern everything, even if he was the High Lord of the Night Court. The words hurt as they left your lips. "Because I can promise you that I will."
You weren't a daemati, but you could see him battling with himself. Debating, if showing you what really happened, would bury him deeper under the surface or pull him back up for air.
Eventually, he released a rare sob and a barely audible "Okay."
He showed you the first time, how he just laid there like a statue as her hands took everything for herself. Then, the fifth time, when she started demanding he respond, pretend he wanted it. Then, the eleventh time, when his body started reacting. Then, by the next time, he had stopped keeping count.
He showed you, whether he meant to or not, how he prayed for it to end, prayed for someone to rescue him.
How he had been praying for you.
With the confirmation of your theory, you squeezed your eyes shut, trying and failing to hold back the tears. The angry tears, wishing you could've been the one to rip her throat out. Tears that enraged you because that was not Tamlin's kill. Furious tears because that wasn't even your kill. Devastating tears because your mate not only had to play a character for so long, but he had to endure being called her whore. Like he had any fucking say.
Overwhelming tears because your mate was in pain and there was shit all you could do about it.
"Can I touch you?" The question shocks him, but he nods without thinking, confused at the request. You slowly lift your hands to his cheeks, brushing away his tears with your thumbs. "There is nothing for me to forgive you for. I know you didn't want to do any of it."
"But I-"
"Bodies respond to stimulation whether it's wanted or not. It's how we work." You explained slowly and carefully, keeping direct eye contact. "You forget, sweetheart. I can hear your thoughts when you show me a memory."
"I've-" His voice caught, putting his hands on your wrists, rubbing them up and down your arms until they got hot. "I've been so scared. That it's still happening. That all of this is going to go away, that she's not really gone, that I'm not really here, and this is just another tactic-"
You shake your head, finally pulling yourself together to say what you've wanted to say for weeks. "I swear on my life that I will never let anyone hurt you like that again. I will spend eternity protecting you from her and anyone like her. And if you forget that this is real, just ask me. I'll tell you."
His eyes darted between yours, furiously blinking. Violet eyes, red. Pleading craving begging praying.
"Is it?"

STUCK WITH U?
[you should prob read the story first!]
— reunited with your children years after your death, something strange happened.
hello, nonnie!! im doing well as long as u guys r enjoying this story 🥰💕
Tumblr media
beloved mother, wife, and daughter
resting beside her love, may her soul find his in the afterlife
if you tried to be optimistic, hell wasn’t so bad. you never had to worry much for the exterminations. nor, did you have to worry about being harassed on the streets of hell by various sinners. after all, alastor was there to protect you.
but despite that, it didn’t mean he wouldn’t tear you down to make you compliant.
you sat in a corner of alastor’s broadcast tower as he brutally tore apart another overlord. and as he went off the air, he turned to you. “are you enjoying yourself, my doe?” he asked. “i don’t understand why i have to be here…” you said, mentally hurling from his new pet name. “you’re so delicate, my love. one trip and you could break! i have to be there to make sure you’re well at all times.” he cooed to you. “stop patronizing me, alastor. i won’t let you take away my dignity.” you glared at him. “darling, i may not own your soul. but, you are still my wife. you are mine, understand?” he explained, walking to you.
you didn’t respond to him, refusing to let him degrade your self worth. to this, he grew angry— grabbing you by your jaw and scalp, his claws scratching against your porcelain skin, lovingly yet still rough, as if he thought it was for your own good. “i said, do you understand?”
his face came close to your’s as he kept a tight grip on your hair, waiting for your answer. your fight or flight response was sending signals and going haywire as you tried to pull away from his touch. “yes— gh, let go of me, alastor. please…” you begged as he finally let go. “good girl.”
and just then, an awfully convenient knock came from the door. a man with lamb-like features peered through the door. “and, who might you be?” alastor raised an eyebrow to the man. “so it’s true… d-dad..! it’s me!” the familiar voice said. could it be?
“noah— is that you..?” you asked. you hoped it wasn’t him, that he didn’t end up in hell. but at the same time, you wished to see your son one more time so badly. “momma, it’s me!” he smiled, hugging you and alastor tightly. “ah, my boy…” alastor sighed. “you’re so much older than your old man now, huh?” he remarked. but then, it hit you, he was dead.
“wh— dear, what happened, how did you die?” you asked. “killed in action, ma. guess i should’ve just retired already…” he joked. “oh, my son…” alastor grinned.
and things were normal— at least, as normal as they could be with your deranged husband. things stayed as they were for 13 years.
when rumor spread of a mysterious man-eating sinner— she uses them to build her power, and then she drops them like dirt trash. she’s amassed so much power, she’s certainly a threat to alastor’s power. if he couldn’t get rid of her, perhaps he could keep her under his thumb.
“well, how do you do, sweetheart? alastor, pleasure to meet you, quite the pleasure! this over here is my darling wife!” alastor introduced both him and yourself to the older woman with features that resembled a coyote. “alastor..? is that you, dad?” the honey-like voice asked.
alastor’s eyes had widened as he realized the woman in front of him. “little emi, is that you?” emilia reached out to hug the both of you. she aged beautifully, still as charming as she was the day you died.
“oh, my pretty girl, you’ve made quite the name for yourself down here in hell, hm?” alastor grinned at his daughter. “i learned from the best!” she laughed back.
and as they conversed, you felt like an odd man out. as if alastor was talking to his own clone. given, she is her father’s daughter after all.
“darling! our little emi is here, our little family is reunited at last.” alastor grinned to you. “this calls for a celebration, don’t you think? why don’t we have a special dinner tonight?” he suggested. by his tone, the only thing you could think of would be that he wants to have another sinner served on the dinner table. “i-i don’t know…” you shook your head in disagreement. “now don’t be such a negative nancy!” he laughed. “i’ll cook a feast tonight!” he declared, taking emilia to your home in hell.
and, just as you suspected, he served the flesh of a fellow overlord, fillet mignon style. “come now, dear, eat!” alastor said, encouraging you to take a bite. “no thank you… i’m not hungry.” you frowned, shaking your head. alastor looked frustrated as you denied him. “eat.” he said, shoving the meat into your mouth.
you felt sick. but, as he shoved it down your throat, you had no choice but to swallow. “delicious, isn’t it?” he asked. your stomach churned, the guilt settling in your gut. it tasted disgusting. but, as much as you wanted to protest, you were scared of what he’d do if you disagreed. “yes… it is— delicious.” he grinned. “lovely.”
and so, your family dynamic had returned to as it had 47 years ago. back to normal… that is, until that odd day.
you woke up in your bed, as per usual. and, there was a note where alastor should be. not that you weren’t grateful he wasn’t there though.
‘leaving for a sabbatical, you know overlord work! i’ll be home very soon, my doe. kisses and love.
~ A’
sabbatical, huh? he’ll be gone for quite a while, a year at most? and, without alastor, you’re free. it felt as if breathing fresh air for the first time. even if just for a year or so, you won’t have to be on his leash anymore. all would be well now, right?
right..?
but with your freedom, alastor’s protection was gone. sinners started to harass you. and without the company of emilia, you could do nothing but withstand it.
this is all apart of being free. might as well enjoy it until alastor returned, right? make the most of the year.
or, seven years.

The day of the engagement party arrived, and as Jey and Jax inevitably crossed paths when they carpooled together, they couldn't help but notice that they were both wearing similar outfits. Jax was in a sleek, form-fitting black dress, while Jey was in an all black fit as well. They both looked incredible, but it was hard not to notice how similar their outfits were.
Jey nudged Jax playfully. "Looks like we're matching," he said.
Jax chuckled and playfully rolled her eyes. "Great, now everyone's going to think we're a couple," she teased, bumping her shoulder against his.
Jey smirked at her response, enjoying their playful banter. "Would that be so bad?" he teased back, raising an eyebrow at her.
Jax couldn't help but get butterflies at his words. "Oh, shut up," she retorted, but there was no real malice in her voice.
They continued to watch the many couples slow dancing, and Jey's gaze kept drifting back to Jax, taking in her every movement.
Jax noticed his gaze and felt a flutter of excitement in her chest. She knew that look all too well.
"See something you like?" she asked coyly, turning to face him fully.
Jey's smirk widened as he met her gaze. "Maybe," he said, his voice low and filled with promise.
He stepped closer to her, his body inches from hers, and he reached out to brush a strand of hair away from her face.
Jax's heart began to race as Jey stepped closer, his touch sending shivers down her spine. She could feel the tension building between them, and she knew that they were both thinking the same thing.
"You're playing with fire," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jey leaned in closer, his lips hovering just millimeters from her ear. "Shii, maybe I like the heat, baby." he murmured, his breath hot against her skin.
He placed a hand on her hip, his fingers gently caressing her curves through the fabric of her dress.
Jax felt a shiver run down her spine as his hand moved over her hip. She couldn't help but lean into his touch, her body responding to his proximity.
She tilted her head slightly, her lips hovering just above his jawline. She could feel the stubble on his chin and the heat radiating from his skin.
Jey could feel the tension between them reaching its breaking point. He could barely think straight with Jax's body pressed against his and her lips so close to his skin.
He leaned in further, his lips finally brushing against her ear as he whispered, "Let's get out of here."
Jax nodded slightly, her eyes fluttering shut at the feel of his lips against her ear.
"Yes," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the music.
She reached out and grabbed his hand, their fingers intertwining as they discreetly made their way out of the crowded venue.
They made their way to the car, their steps hurried and eager. As soon as they were both inside, Jey pulled Jax close, his hands roaming over her body.
"I can't wait any longer," he said, his voice hoarse with desire.
Jax straddled his lap, her dress riding up her thighs as she settled in. She could feel the heat of his body against hers, and it was driving her wild.
"Neither can I," she whispered, leaning down to capture his lips in a hungry kiss.
Jey's hands moved to her hips, gripping her tightly as he returned her kiss with equal passion. He nipped at her bottom lip, his tongue teasing hers as he deepened the kiss.
Their bodies were pressed tightly together, the car filling with the sounds of their ragged breathing and soft moans.
As they kissed, Jax's hands began to wander, moving up his chest and over his shoulders. She could feel the hard muscles beneath his clothes, and she couldn't help but run her fingers along the lines of his body.
Jey's hands moved up her back, tracing her spine before tangling in her short but voluminous curls. He pulled her head back slightly, breaking their kiss and exposing her neck to his lips.
Jey took advantage of the exposed skin, his lips trailing kisses down her neck. He could feel her pulse racing beneath his touch, and he knew he was driving her wild.
He bit down gently on her neck, sucking and licking at the sensitive skin, leaving behind a trail of marks that would serve as a reminder of their passion later.
Jax gasped as he bit her neck, her body arching into his touch. She gripped his shoulders tightly, her nails digging into his skin as she moaned his name.
"Jey..." she breathed, her voice filled with desire and urgency.
Jey paused for a moment, his lips still hovering over her skin. He could sense the tension in her body and the need in her voice.
He pulled back slightly, his eyes meeting hers as he took a deep breath.
"There's something I need to tell you," he said, his voice rough and husky.
Jax could see the seriousness in his expression, and her heart began to race with anticipation.
"What is it?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Jey took another deep breath, his fingers tracing patterns on her thighs as he tried to gather his thoughts.
"It's about my...preferences.." he finally said, his eyes locking onto hers.
Jax could feel her heart skip a beat as he mentioned preferences. She could tell that this was something important, and she was both intrigued and a little nervous. She was pretty open minded to most kinks.
"Go on," she urged, her hands moving to rest on his tattooed chest.
Jey took a deep breath and spoke the words that had been on his mind for a while.
"I'm a daddy dom," he said, his voice steady and firm.
Jax's eyes widened slightly as he revealed his dominant preferences. She had a vague idea of what that meant, but she was still processing the information.
"A daddy dom..." she repeated, her mind racing as she tried to picture him in that role.
Jax's cheeks heated up slightly as she pictured him dominating her. The thought of him taking control in the bedroom was both intimidating and exciting.
"I...see," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Jey could see the effect his revelation was having on her. He could see the desire in her eyes, the way her body responded to the thought of being dominated by him.
"You like the sound of that, don't you?" he said with a smirk, his voice low and seductive.
Jax bit her lip, unable to deny the thrill that coursed through her body at his words.
"Maybe I do," she whispered, her eyes locked on his.
Jax couldn't help but smirk as she remembered his bossy behavior on their date.
"So that's why you were so bossy during our date, huh?" she teased, raising an eyebrow at him.
Jey chuckled at her playful remark, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"You're right," he said, his voice low and sultry. "I was being a bit bossy. But I had my reasons."
"I wanted to take care of you," he continued. "My Daddy tendencies got ahead of me."
Jax's breath hitched as he explained his motives. The way he wanted to take care of her, to dominate and provide for her, made her feel desired and cared for in a way that was both thrilling and comforting. Something no guy had ever offered.
She leaned into his touch, her eyes never leaving his face.
"Wow," she said, her voice soft and vulnerable.
She reached up and placed a hand on his cheek, her thumb gently stroking his skin.
"I want you to dominate me," she whispered, her eyes darkening with desire.
Jey's heart skipped a beat at her confession. The look in her eyes and the tone of her voice were like a siren call to him.
He pulled her closer, his hands gripping her hips possessively.
"You're going to be a good girl for me, aren't you?" he growled, his voice low and commanding.
Jax shivered at his words, her body responding to his commanding tone.
"Yes," she breathed, her eyes locked on his. "I'll be your good girl."
Jey smirked, his eyes flashing with desire.
"That's what I thought, baby," he purred, his hand trailing down her back and giving her ass a firm squeeze.
After getting situated, he started the car and they drove off to his house, the air between them charged with anticipation and lust.
As they arrived at his house, Jey parked the car and got out, coming around to open the passenger door for her. He held out his hand, helping her out of the car and leading her towards the front door.
Once they were inside, he shut the door behind them and immediately pinned her against it, trapping her between his body and the hard surface.
Jax gasped as her back hit the door, the suddenness of the movement causing her heart to race.
She looked up at him, her eyes wide with a mixture of excitement and anticipation. She could feel his body pressed against hers, the heat radiating from him.
Jey leaned in, his lips finding the sensitive spot on her neck that he had discovered earlier. He began to kiss and nibble at her skin, his teeth scraping against her skin as he worked his way up to her ear, "Just say red if you ever want me to stop" He tells her.
"I'm going to make you feel so good," he whispered, his breath hot against her ear.
Jax let out a moan as Jey whispered his intentions, her body arching against his.
She knew exactly what he was going to do, and the thought of it sent a wave of desire coursing through her.
"Please..." she breathed, her hands clenching into fists as she braced herself for the pleasure to come.
Jey chuckled, enjoying the effect he was having on her. He could sense her anticipation, and it fueled his own desire.
He slowly sank to his knees in front of her, his hands sliding down her body as he went. He looked up at her with a wicked gleam in his eyes, his gaze locked on her face as he positioned himself between her legs.
Jax's heart was pounding in her chest as she looked down at Jey, his face inches away from her most intimate place.
She was already aching for his touch, and the sight of him on his knees was making her feel even more vulnerable and needy. Some would call his position a submissive one, but he'd never been more in control. He held her pleasure in the palm of his hand.
Jey couldn't help but smirk at the look of desire on her face. He could see the way her body trembled with pure desire. He hiked her dress upwards and tugged her panties down taking not of the wet spot in them.
He slowly ran his hands up her thighs, his fingers tracing the contours of her skin. He could feel the heat radiating from her, and he knew that she was already very wet and ready for him.
Jey continued to tease her, his fingers inching closer and closer to her sweet spot.
Finally, he gave in to her silent pleas and slowly ran his tongue along her folds, relishing the taste of her on his tongue.
He let out a low growl of pleasure, the sound vibrating through his chest as he began to explore her more deeply.
Jax gasped at the sensation of his tongue on her, her hands instinctively reaching out to grab his hair.
She could feel his tongue working its way inside her, sending waves of pleasure through her body. She arched her back, pressing herself closer to his face as she moaned softly.
Jey continued to pleasure her with his tongue, his movements growing more intense as he felt her body responding to him.
He could feel her hands gripping his hair, and it only fueled his desire to give her even more pleasure.
He shifted slightly, changing the angle of his tongue as he began to lap at her clit, his hands gripping her thighs tightly.
Jax's breath hitched as he began to work her clit with his tongue, the pleasure almost overwhelming.
She let out a strangled moan, her legs trembling as he continued to work his magic.
She was already on the edge of orgasm, the sensations he was giving her pushing her closer and closer to the brink.
Jey could sense that she was close, and he increased the pressure of his tongue on her clit, flicking it back and forth with a skilled touch.
He knew exactly how to drive her wild, and he was determined to make her come undone.
Jax's moans grew louder and more urgent as she approached the peak of her pleasure.
Her body was tense, her muscles clenching as the waves of ecstasy built up inside her.
She was teetering on the edge, her hips moving involuntarily as she sought more friction.
Jey suddenly pulled back, leaving her on the edge of her climax.
He looked up at her with a smirk, his hands gripping her hips tightly.
"Ah, ah, ah," he said in a scolding tone. "I didn't tell you to move your hips, did I?"
Jax let out a soft whimper at his words, her body shaking with the effort of holding back.
She looked down at him with pleading eyes, her face flushed with desire and frustration.
"Please," she begged, her voice strained with need.
Jey chuckled at her desperate plea, enjoying the way she was completely at his mercy.
"Oh, baby," he said, his voice low and teasing. "You're going to have to do better than that if you want to come."
Jax let out a soft sob at his words, her body aching with the need for release.
She was so close, but he was holding her back, prolonging the agony.
"Please, please, please," she repeated, the words tumbling from her lips like a mantra.
Jey smiled as he watched her beg, enjoying the sight of her completely undone.
He loved having this power over her, and he was determined to make her wait just a little bit longer.
He ran his hands over her thighs, his fingers gently tracing the sensitive skin, before leaning in again and placing a soft kiss on her inner thigh.
Jax shivered at the gentle touch of his lips, her body trembling with need.
She could feel the heat of his breath against her skin, and it was driving her insane.
She wanted nothing more than to buck her hips against his face, to take control and find her release, but she knew that she might get punished.
Jey sensed her frustration and the way she was struggling to control herself.
He loved that he could reduce her to a desperate mess with just a few simple touches, and he was determined to keep her on edge for as long as possible.
He moved his mouth closer to her center, his breath hot against her sensitive skin, before moving away again, leaving her wanting and whimpering.
Jax was practically panting with need now, her body writhing in frustration.
She was so close to losing control, and she could feel herself on the verge of tears.
She was desperate for release, and she would have done anything to get it.
He looked up at her with a smirk, his lips hovering just above her skin, before he finally gave in.
He leaned in and ran his tongue along her clit, giving her just enough pressure to push her over the edge.
Jax let out a loud cry as she finally found her release, the waves of pleasure washed over her. She shuddered and trembled as she rode out the orgasm, her fingers digging into Jey's hair as she held onto him for dear life.
Jey continued to work her through her orgasm, his tongue gently lapping up the remnants of her release.
He was relishing the way her body responded to him, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at the sight of her coming undone.
As her body finally began to relax, Jey pulled back and looked up at her with a smug smile.
He loved seeing the aftermath of her orgasm, the way she was completely blissed out and sated.
He slowly stood up and moved closer to her, his hands running gently over her body as he leaned in to kiss her neck.
Jey kissed her lips tenderly, making her taste herself on his lips before whispering in her ear, "Good fucking girl."

Peppermint Tea 34 - All Blends 5
Summary: REUNIONS
Peppermint Tea Masterlist-> HERE
Tumblr media
As promised, you and Katakuri travel back to his island first thing in the morning. It’s just the two of you and part of his crew, but the trip doesn’t take too long. You can’t help but feel relieved to get off the main island, Sweet City, you were informed, and away from Big Mom, herself. The woman had sneered and salivated during the short amount of time that you had to be in her presence this morning. The emperor truly disgusted you and the further away from her you could get, the better.
Komugi Island is interesting to say the least. You didn’t think that the doughnut Katakuri told you about would be quite so big, but it was definitely its most distinguishable feature. The two of you had made small talk during the trip, keeping the conversation light and not too deep since, hopefully, you would be reunited with your boys by the end of the day.
Once on shore, you ask him if it would be okay if you could stay outside to wait for Shanks and Mihawk. The beach reminded you of your little island, and Hank was having fun running and rolling around in the sand. Sukuna had elected to stay in your arms, but you didn’t mind. Katakuri had shrugged and told you to do what you wanted, and he would be on the lookout for the Red Force. That had been hours ago.
You lay on the sandy beach, and try to put together just how long it’s been since you’ve seen either of your boys. You know it’s been more than a month. Just the trip from your island to Whole Cake had taken forever it seemed, and that wasn’t counting the weeks after you had sent them both away. You frown and rub your swollen belly, staring down at the bumb that seems to grow bigger and bigger every day.
It’s harder for you to walk now, and you tire far easier than you used to. You think that you were around the 28 weeks mark when you had told them to leave, so maybe… 34 weeks now? The thought makes you freeze in the sand, eyes going wide as you stare down at yourself. Fuck. You could give birth in the next couple of weeks.
The books that you’ve read said that the average pregnancy lasts from 38 to 40 weeks, any earlier than that and the baby would be considered premature. You swallow harshly and curl your legs up to your belly as best you could. You’d never wanted the feel of their arms or the heat of their body more than in that moment. Even with Sukuna and Hank by your side, you’ve never felt more alone.
“Please, please get here soon. I need you,” you whisper to yourself, and close your eyes, begging the sea and the wind to bring Shanks and Mihawk back to you.
----
The sun is setting by the time Yasopp spots Mihawk’s little ship coming in on the port-side of the Red Force. Shanks is there to greet both of them when they climb up the ladder, smiling at Perona and laughing when she sniffs at him and then floats away, content to do her own thing. There is an awkward lull between the two men when they come face to face, but Mihawk barrels over it when he grabs the redhead by the arm and drags him past his crew and to his quarters where the warlord shuts and locks the door behind them.
Shanks stares at the other man, grunting when Mihawk strides forward and grabs him by the face. They stare at one another, each one taking the other in.
Mihawk’s usually impeccable facial hair is overgrown, hair covering his cheeks and making his beard thicker than usual. There are heavy bags under his eyes, and the normally put-together man just looks tired. Shanks doesn't fare much better. His scruff is thick and unruly, making him look more like a scallywag and less like a beach bum. His red hair is lank, flat atop his head instead, and Mihawk smooths one hand up from his cheek to push his hand through that red hair, pushing it away from the other man's face.
“You let yourself go,” Mihawk murmurs, and Shanks gives him a helpless shrug, a world-weary smirk painting his lips.
“I could tell you the same.”
Dracule rolls his eyes, and then he is stepping into the redhead’s space, slotting against Shanks like he has always belonged there. The emperor raises his hand, and settles it around the warlord's hip, tugging him closer and tilting his head so that it rests in the crook of the other man's neck. Mihawk winds his arms around him, holding the redhead close and finally feeling himself relax after that awful day when you called.
“I'm sorry, Mihawk. I'm so sorry any of this ever happened. It's all my fault,” Shanks whispers, tone thick with emotions, and Mihawk just holds him tighter like he should have back on your island, “I'm nothing but a fool, and irresponsible, but I can't lose you, either of you. I'll beg for the rest of my life for your forgiveness if I have to, but I won't leave.”
Mihawk curls his hand around the base of Shanks’ neck, lips turned down in a frown as he shakes his head, “The fault lies with both of us. She sent us away because I was too much of a coward to tell her the truth about our past. She was taken because you were too scared to tell me about your blunder. Why didn't you tell me?”
The redhead buries himself closer to Mihawk, seeking the familiar warmth that he had missed like the grass missed the rain, “It's like you said. I was terrified that you would hate me for it. That you and _ both would hate me, and I would never see either of you again. Everything was just going so well, and eventually I just… forgot I even messed up in the first place.”
Mihawk tightens his grip on the other man, needing to get what he was about to say across to Shanks.
“Both of us have to stop keeping important things quiet. _ has always been open with us, and it is a dishonor to her if we keep it up. No more secrets. No more hiding away from fear of rejection. Nothing.”
Shanks nods, eyes clenched shut as he holds his lover as tightly as he can against him, “No more secrets.”
A tension seems to bleed out after that, and the embrace they share becomes softer. Mihawk threads his hand through red hair and tips Shanks up and away from the crook of his shoulder. He leans in, lips meeting the other man’s and sighing in delight when Shanks offers himself up immediately to the kiss. It's been so long, that they take their time, exploring and familiarizing each other like a set of new lovers.
Before the exchange can become too heated, for the two men had fallen back into Shanks' chair, the warlord perched in his lap, thighs pressed tight to one another's, Mihawk pulls away to rest his brow against the redheads, “We should clean up. I don't want our treasure to see us like this.”
Shanks smiles, one easy and agreeing, then tilts his head to the side, eyes darkening with arousal, “Shower with me?”
Mihawk can't help rolling his eyes skyward, but he still stands and waits for Shanks to lead the way to the bathroom. They strip each other, the warlord making quick work of his lover's shirt, pushing it from broad shoulders and dropping it to the floor. His coat and shirt followed and then Dracule hooks his thumbs into the elastic of the redhead’s pants and pulls them down. Shanks plucks at the string that holds his lover’s trousers, lips curling into a smile when they fall and bunch around the warlord’s feet.
The water is hot and soothing when they step in, and Mihawk can’t help but think back to the night back on Gloom, the heat of Shanks’ mouth around his cock, and the feel of his blunt nails digging into his thigh. But now wasn’t the time to think about things like that, not when you were so close yet so far away. They would get you back and then escape to your island where they would stay and rebuild your home from the ground up. They would never leave you alone again.
Shanks lathers up a rag and begins to scrub his lover’s back, swiping it up his spine and then gently over his shoulders, cleaning away days old sweat. Mihawk takes over after a while, telling Shanks to turn around so that he can clean his front, rubbing the soap into that tan skin until he smells less like a bar and more like the man Mihawk loved.
They trim and manicure their facial hair and then dress in clean clothes once they are done, both feeling far better than they have in the past couple of weeks. Mihawk dons his hat, and Shaks pulls his cloak over his shoulders before he steps forward and draws the other man in for a swift kiss.
“Ready?”
The warlord nods as he fixes his coat, “Let us go.”
Once topside, they noticed Perona, red-faced yelling at someone over a snail transponder. Brow furrowing, Mihawk stalked forward, Shanks trailing behind him.
“You’re too late, Tomura. We’re already at Whole Cake, and we are supposed to get her soon.”
“What? How? I don’t see Big Mom giving my sister up so easily.”
The snail transponder is yanked out of her hand, and Mihawk glares down at it, “One of the Charlotte sons allowed _ to contact us. He is handing her over to save his family, I think it would be best if you left this to us, Vice Admiral.”
Tomura snarls wordlessly over the call, and Shanks can’t help but smirk at the sound of the navy man’s frustration.
“Fine. I’ll be waiting back at the island then, you better make sure my sister stays safe.”
Ca-lick
Mihawk huffs and drops the snail back into his daughter’s waiting hand, “What an unpleasant man.”
Shanks snickers beside him, before he sobers up and focuses on the island in front of them. Spotlights shine this way and that, highlighting the giant food that towers over the building that he can spot further inland. It’s a sight to behold, but the pirates aren’t there to awe over the giant sweets. No, they are here to get you.
The snail begins to ring again, and the two men stare down at the transponder when it morphs into the now familiar visage of Big Mom’s son, Katakuri.
Ca-lick
“Come to the southern shore. I’ll meet you at my personal bay.”
----
You jump when Katakuri makes his presence known when he clears his throat. You are still on the beach, your clothes, given to you by him from one of his many sisters, are full of sand, so you dust yourself off and then give him your attention. Hank stands close by, a silent, furry pillar of support that you eagerly tangle your fingers into. Sukuna lays across your shoulders, tail lashing back and forth as he stares at Katakuri with annoyed golden eyes.
“They’re here,” He murmurs and nods his head out towards the black sea. You squint, but your eyes aren’t good enough to see much of anything this late in the evening. Regardless, you still feel excitement bubbling up in your chest, happy tears coming to your eyes, and you have to bite your bottom lip to stop yourself from whimpering like a child. However, despite the joy you felt, you couldn’t help the sudden nerves that threatened to overwhelm everything else.
Katakuri stared down at you. You’d told him a little of what happened between the three of you, he was a better listener than a talker, after all, so he could understand the hesitation that seemed to surround you. Feeling uncharacteristically kind, he crouched down and reached forward, weary of the two guards who glared at him. He gently patted the top of your head like he would do for one of his siblings when they were upset.
“They will be happy to see you.”
You can’t help but send him a grateful smile, eyes wet as you reach up to squeeze one of his fingers, “I know, and I’m excited to see them. I’m just nervous. It’s been so long.”
Katakuri pulled away and then offered you his hand to sit on like he had the other day, and once you were comfortable and surrounded by your animals, he began to walk along the beach, “Do not worry. It will be fine.”
The trip to his personal docking bay doesn’t take long, but it feels like it takes a lifetime to you. You are so nervous to see your boys again, but the thought of being able to hold them close, to be able to kiss them and feel their hands on you again, makes it a little better. You hope that Mihawk had taken what you’d told him to heart and hadn’t been too hard on Shanks over you being taken. You don’t think you would have it in you to mitigate anything between them right now.
The closer the two of you got to the docks, the better you could see the approaching ship. The Red Force was dwarfed by Katakuri’s personal ship, but it still cut a striking figure as it sailed closer. You were practically vibrating in place once you were sat on your own two feet, and Hank whines beside you, pacing back and forth when he recognizes the ship. You can see three silhouettes standing at the bow, one with an achingly familiar hat that makes your heart clench in relief.
Neither Shanks or Mihawk wait for the crew to finish tying the ship off. Once they are close enough, they simply flash to the docks with a burst of haki, wanting to get to their treasure as quickly as possible. You start waddling as fast as you can to meet them, and then finally, you are surrounded by your boys.
They wrap themselves around you, Shanks pressed against your back so that he can wrap his arm around your belly. Mihawk’s arms wind around both of you, holding you tight to his chest as you press your face against his olive skin. You can feel tears soaking your hair from Shanks, but Mihawk doesn’t cry like his two lovers. Instead, he begins to whisper sweet nothings, his lips pressed against your temple.
“Don’t ever let me tell you two to leave again,” you sob against the warlord’s chest. One of your hands clutched his coat, and the other wraped around Shanks’ wrist, needing to anchor yourself in their presence, “I don’t care how upset I am. I don’t ever want to be alone like that again. I’m so sorry.”
Mihawk huffs and Shanks lets out a wet laugh, “You’ve got nothing to be sorry for, Treasure. We’re the ones who are supposed to be apologizing.”
You shake your head, uncaring, “I don’t care about what happened anymore. I’m just glad you’re here.”
Mihawk and Shanks let it go, for now, they would sit you down and the three of you would have a long talk about this later. You look up at them, eyes wet but happy, “Can we get out of here, please?”
The dock creaks when Katakuri steps over to their little ground, and they look up when the giant of a man begins to talk.
“That would be best. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has already told my mother of your presence. You should hurry.”
Not wanting to leave your side, but needing to, Shanks presses a kiss to the top of your head and heads back over to his ship, ordering his men to get the ship untethered so that they could get out of here. Katakuri was most likely right, so if they didn't hurry, Big Mom would send her own ships out to greet them on the open sea. Hank bounds after him, elated to see his second favorite human, and Sukuna steps between his human and the male who had saved him, rubbing himself against Mihawk’s legs before giving the warlord a look that screamed why did it take you so long to get here?
You stop yourself from following after your boys, tugging at Dracule's hand when he goes to lead you away. You look up at Katakuri and gesture for him to come closer. Curious, he bends down, and you lean close so that you can press your lips to his cheek before you pull away with a grateful smile.
“Thank you for keeping me safe, Katakuri. Maybe we'll meet again under better terms.”
You watch as he blushes, and his lips turn up in a bemused smile as he rises back up, “Maybe one day.”
You scoop Sukuna up in your arms and then allow Mihawk to escort you down the dock where the Red Force and its captain wait. They help you up the rope ladder, and despite your winded state once you get on deck, that doesn't stop the delighted smile that paints your face when the crew erupts in cheer at seeing you. Perona is at your side in a heartbeat, pulling you in for a careful hug and burrowing her tear-stained face into your shoulder.
Shanks begins to shout orders to get the ship underway, and once Perona pulls away, she and Mihawk lead you to the captain’s quarters. You assure them both that you are okay, but Mihawk isn't satisfied until he can get his hands on you after his daughter has made sure you are okay for herself. He kneels in front of you, taking you in, golden eyes flickering everywhere like he doesn't know what to look at first.
Overall, his angel looks tired. Bags under your eyes and hair swept up in a bun that hangs lank at the back of your head. Your eyes are bloodshot, most likely from all the crying that you have done, but Mihawk still thinks that you are the most beautiful creature he's ever laid eyes on. He holds your face like he had held Shanks earlier, then leans forward to press his brow against your own.
“Mihawk,” you whisper, and he opens his eyes to meet your own. This might not be the best time, but you can't hold it in any longer. Not when you know that life can change in the blink of an eye, “I love you.”
The warlord feels his heart pound in his chest. He’s known for a while now that you loved him, you had to because he was sure that you felt the same thing that he did for you, but hearing it was something else entirely. A sureness settled over his shoulders, and neither of you heard the door shutting behind Mihawk when he murmured.
“I love you, too.”
*notes* Sorry if this seems anticlimactic. I honestly struggled a lot with this chapter. Timeline wise, it makes sense cause Luffy shows up like a week later to break shit. Hope you enjoyed!

Shadow x Fem Reader
Regency au part two Dream
No content warning in this one mostly just set up.
-Enjoy
Your carige ride home was spent in a dizzy haze your mind reeling from the events of the night. The excitement of your first ball and the sudden reappearance of your childhood friend had left your mind scattered and you needed to pick up the pieces.
You couldn't recall much after your dance with Shadow, just saying a simple goodbye before making your swift getaway into the crowd. Your mother, who had accompanied you that night, with her impeccable timing, was ready to retire for the evening meaning you didn't have to make up an excuse as to why you needed to leave before the ball was technically over.
Unfortunately your mother had seen you dance with the Viscount, and she was more than pleased.
"oh it is delightful that you two have reunited after all this time, and what a lovely couple you would make. I should invite him for tea, or perhaps dinner. Do you know what food he prefers? Perhaps I shall ask his mother maybe she will know. Do you know if he will call upon you tomorrow? Well he must with the way he was looking at you as you danced."
"Momma, perhaps you should hold off on planning the wedding until after I have secured a proposal." You interjected, tired of your mother's chatter.
"Oh come now darling, you know it is much too soon for him to propose, you must court him for two weeks at least." Your mother responded, completely missing your sarcasm. "I suppose if one is passionately in love an hour can feel like a lifetime, in which case a proposal may not be far away at all."
"Momma, tonight was the first time I've seen the Viscount in eight years largely because he has ignored me or any attempts I have made to rekindle our friendship. I sincerely doubt that he is in love with me. He mearly wants to make amends for his past actions."
"Well then he has apologized has he not?"
"No he has not."
"And would you accept said apology should he choose to do so?"
"I am not sure, that is the problem. He hurt me so deeply when he left I do not know if I have that kind of forgiveness in me."
"Well I'm sure both of you will come around eventually you were so close as children I doubt much has changed since then."
"Many things have changed since then, he is a viscount now he is responsible for his family's legacy one that has been tarnished no thanks to his cousin, not to mention he is a very high ranking member of the court, a court that could outs him over the slightest hint of scandal. He does not have time to worry about matters such as finding a wife let alone apologizing to me or anyone else he has wronged."
It hurt you to say those things but you knew it was true, it was by the grace of her majesty that the Robotnicks kept their place in society. Nobody knew why. rumors spread throughout the ton on the circumstances which allowed them to keep their ranking. Many thought it was bribery some said it was manipulation, others suggested an affair with the queen was what kept the Robotnick name safe from further scandal. You weren't sure which rumor was worse.
"Young lady the circumstances surrounding you two may have vastly changed, but your heart has remained as loving as ever, no matter how much you try to deny it. And as for the viscount if he is wise then he will apologize in due time, but only you can decide weather he is worth the forgiveness."
Your mother though odd in her own ways, always knew what you needed to hear even if you didn't necessarily want to hear it. Feelings had reamerged, ones that you had suppressed long ago, they were neglected and begged for attention, and they weren't going to leave you alone without a fight.
"Thank you Momma for the kind words, I wish to reflect in silence for the rest of the ride home."
"Of course my darling, try not to grow too worrisome you two have time to work things out."
The rest of the ride home was silent only the only sound that could be heard were the horses trotting guiding you and your mother home.
💎
Sleep did not come easily to you that night, your mind buzzing with questions.
Why should Shadow reappear now of all times?
Could it have anything to do with your coming out this year?
What has he been up to for all these years?
What is this mysterious fluttering in your chest, and why do you only feel it when you think of him?
Your mind flipped rapidly through these questions until a restless slumber overtook you.
💎
You were back at the ball, only it was different this time. The crowd around you was replaced with an eerie emptiness. Your dance card had only one slot on it and Shadow's name took it's place.
The music began and he was nowhere to be seen. You ran about the ballroom calling his name but he could not be found. Finally you collapsed on the floor in despair tears falling from your eyes and crashing onto the dancefloor.
Suddenly you felt a warm presence around you. It drew you into it's embrace and held onto you as you sobbed.
The presence whispered in you ear. "No need to cry now, I'm here, I will always be here, no matter how much time has passed, I promise I will not leave you again."
You turned to the presence unable to make out it's face until it reached out a hand to dry your tears.
"Shadow"
He didn't respond in words he just looked into your eyes as he removed his gloves placing his bare hand on your cheek. Instinctively you leaned into his warm gentle touch leaning closer and closer to his face until your lips were mere centimeters from touching.
You gasped immediately torn out of your dream and into reality. Your heart was racing as though you had been running and a cold sweat had seeped through your nightgown.
The morning sun had begun to peak through your curtains as you steadied yourself. Slowing your breath you had only one thought that went through your head.
What on earth was that?
Before you had time to absorb the shock of your dream your mother and your ladies maid burst into your bedroom.
"Good morning my dear, you shouldn't be in bed at this late hour, not when there is so much to do today! Lilly be a dear and draw her a bath will you she looks completely disheveled from last night."
"Yes madam" Lilly said before quietly leaving to get your bath prepared.
"Oh darling there is so much to do we are woefully under prepared for this season and we didn't even know it, we will be taking gentlemen callers in two hours, after that we must go to the modiste to get you a new wardrobe, and then we shall promenade with the Rose family this afternoon after tea."
"Mother we just bought me a new wardrobe for the season why must we return to the modiste, how many more dresses could I possibly need."
"It appears that the reemergence of the Viscount has been proven to be quite beneficial to you, we have been receiving invitations all morning. Balls, Banquets, Teas, all sorts of events all wanting you. And then this arrived."
Your mother handed you a copy of the Ton's gossip column. You heart began to race again as you read the words.
"Queen Elise pronounces miss Y/N L/N as her diamond of the season"

•Selfishness•
When Regulus had turned 17, he had gotten the mark. He fought with James for weeks because of it, they never broke up though.
Regulus was 17, about to be 18 when he found himself in that dark cave.
James was 19 when he learned about his lover’s death through a letter.
Hi James, i’m sorry but by the time you’ll read this, i will probably be dead.
I was a coward, during all my life, and you can’t deny it. I was a coward for leaving you, I was a coward for leaving Sirius, I was a coward for letting them take me and give me the dark mark. I am really sorry James, but I knew I could never live with the feeling of loosing you, so I will be the one to die; and I know that makes me selfish as fuck. I’ve always been selfish and I never knew how to not be.
You taught me a lot of things Potter, but everyone, after a long time not practicing, forgets them. And so did I, I forgot how to do what you teached me. I forgot how to love others, I forgot how to love myself, but most importantly I forgot how to breathe. I always felt like suffocating before you came into my life, I never knew how to properly breathe before you taught me, James. But now I am slowly forgetting, and that’s why I’ll die in the deepest waters of the cave. Ironic, isn’t it?
My tears are now ruining this paper, but i hope you’ll be able to understand it, as you always did with me.
By this point you may think that I am killing myself only for the fear of facing your death, but that’s not quite right. I wrote a letter, to the Dark Lord, where I tell him how I ruined his plan, but my love I can’t tell you what I did, I really want to but, it will only make this war worse.
I am sorry my love, I couldn’t give you what you deserved, but please don’t cry. It’s not like i never told you that, with me, you would have never been able to achieve happiness, but you decided to go against my will (and i will never thank you enough for doing it) and you fell for me anyway.
I want to ask you one thing, and I beg you to do it. Please never show this letter to ANYONE, at least until the war is still going. It’s a matter of life or death, and I would prefer for you to live and don’t have a fate like mine.
Goodbye James, I hope to see you in the afterworld, not too soon though, for this time I won’t be selfish and I will wish for you the greatest and longest life. Please don’t die too soon…
Yours and only yours
R.A.B.
Years had passed after Regulus’ death; James was now 20.
He was happy now: he had a wife, all of his best friends and a child.
Although, he still felt like something, or rather someone, was missing.
After the Slytherin’s death James never really loved anyone anymore. Sure, he was married to Lily now, but what people couldn’t know, was that James still wished for Regulus to come back.
That’s why, some months after the Gryffindor’s 21st birthday, on the fateful night of October 31st, James died with a smile and tears streaming down his face. He didn’t keep his promise of having a long life, but he wanted to be selfish too for once and reunite with whom he truly belonged with.

The eldest daughter who wasn't wanted
Sully family x oldest daughter reader
(I am rewriting this story)
y/n sully is the oldest daughter of the Sully's twin sister of Neteyam. Even though y/n was a na'vi she came out smaller than a normal Navi baby and her skin was a sky demon tan color. She was given away a week after birth. After 16 years the Sully's reunited with y/n but y/n has a new family and doesn't consider the Sully's her family besides Mo'at.
(art isn't mine unless I say it is. The names I picked out.
I've been wanting to do this story for a while and I finally got the push I needed for it, this is just one of my avatar stories)
y/n and clan / prologue
Tumblr media
Y/n (16 years old)
The eldest daughter of the Sully's twin sister of Neteyam.
Belongs to the Dushnikh clan a terrifying, strong but caring clan.
The Dushnikh clan is a clan of the tallest, green orcish Navis
The clan is located in a swampy area.
(The clan and characters are my ocs but the name of the clan is from a Skyrim its a orc strong hold)
~prologue 16 years ago~
The battle had ended with hells gates a few months ago when neytiri had went into labor. After many hours of pain Neytiri had given birth to her children, a little  girl and a little boy named y/n and Neteyam, but y/n came out wrong, y/n was much smaller than a normal na'vi newborn she was human newborn size, her skin was a tannish color with light blue strips and she had five fingers, she did have na'vi ears, nose, kuru, and tail. Neytiri held the small new born looking up at Jake "Ma Jake.." she started Jake shock his head "don't worry my love" he replied at first they were happy to have both of the twins but soon some of the clan started talking "that baby is a demon!" "You need to get rid of it!" "Demon blood!" Neytiri and Jack did their best to ignore them.
~ a week later~
"My daughter don't do this! Please let her hear the great mother!" Mo'at begged as her daughter and son-in-law were about to give their daughter away.
"No mother. I am her mother I know what's best for her. We need to protect our family and clan" neytiri said as she gave her week old daughter to norm, while Neteyam cried from the wrapping of his mother's chest, Jake held kiri as he talked to Norm.
"She is family!" Mo'at hissed
Jack stepped between his mate and her mother
"Enough we made our choice" Jake hissed
Mo'at hissed back before grabbing the week old baby girl from norm "Fine I will take her somewhere where she can grow up in peace" Mo'at growled holding the baby closer to her chest
"Mother-" neytiri started but was cut off
"Enough! I am your mother and one of the elders! My choice over rules yours!" Mo'at hissed neytiri and Jack stepped back.
"I am her father give me my daughter" Jake said trying to grab y/n
Mo'at hissed again "No! I have spoken Jack Sully, the other elders agree with me, she deserves to live in peace"
"Mother where are you taking her? Let us come with you, I want to know that my daughter is safe" neytiri offers
Mo'at shock her head "No! Stay here, I will make sure she is safe" Mo'at said walking away with the baby.
~sometime later ~
Mo'at had sat in the hut with another larger elder sitting in front of her
Tumblr media
"Mo'at my old friend, it's nice to see you but what's brought you to our home?" The elder in front Mo'at asked
"Leyra my old friend, as you know my daughter had her child a week ago. But my daughter has given up her daughter because she looks different." Mo'at said as she opened the baby carrier on her chest.
The elder na'vi gasped "These young ones always think they know what's best. Did you talk to her about her fate if she does this?" Leyra said as she looked at the small tan na'vi child staring back at her with an incorrect toothless smile.
Mo'at nodded as she looked down at the week old "yes but my daughter and her husband didn't listen.. they said they know what's best for their family."
Leyra and Mo'at turned when they heard the beads at the opening move to see another large female na'vi holding a small toddler
Tumblr media
"My apologies mother and Mo'at" the female na'vi spoke with a bow Mo'at and Leyra smiled
"Zo'ile it has been to long, I see you have a small one" Mo'at said with a smile as the young na'vi walked over to her mother's friend.
Leyra smiled as her daughter sat beside her "Zo'ile I was about to call for you" Leyra said smiling at her daughter "Mo'at has brought her granddaughter to us, to be raised and cared for"
Zo'ile froze when her mother said those words before looking at Mo'at who held the small tan na'vi and her son At'ok standing by Mo'at smiling at the baby. Zo'ile reached out and Mo'at smiled before handing her the small baby.
"Her name is y/n" Mo'at said as she handed zo'ile the baby
Zo'ile smiled her heart had acked for the baby her son At'ok got into his mother's arms and stared at the baby as well "Tsmuke (sister)" At'ok said smiling zo'ile smiled before looking back at her mother and Mo'at "mother can she stay here I can raise her as my own, of course she'll know Mo'at as her grandmother as well. Please" zo'ile begged slightly.
Leyra and Mo'at smiled, Mo'at knew from then on her granddaughter would be loved and cared for from someone other than her. Leyra looked at her old friend
"Mo'at" she asked Mo'at smiled
"As long as you're ok with it my old friend" Mo'at replied
Leyra smiled "she'll be loved, cared for and excepted" Leyra said as they watched At'ok and y/n fell asleep in Zo'iles arms against her chest making her smile
(Something like this)
Tumblr media
(Go look up artsofmetamoor! Love their avatar au)
Mo'at smiled sadly she didn't want to leave her first grandchild but her people really needed her and she knew y/n would have a better life here. "goodbye ma granddaughter I will come visit when I can, and thank you again leyra, zo'ile" Mo'at said getting up
leyra nodded and got up as well followed by zo'ile "of course my friend anything for you" she said hugging the smaller Forest na'vi.
Mo'at nodded and left the hut, zo'ile looked down at her children "mother why would neytiri give up her child?" Zo'ile asked Leyra shook her head
"Sometime na'vi forget the ways we were taught, they think they know best until eywa shows that you're wrong. Neytiri gave the child up because some sharp words spoken by her clan" Leyra said as she looked at her daughter, before walking away to grab crushed up herbs
"The day will come where we will have to tell her but until then, she will be raised the way of our people" leyra said gently rubbed the herd on the baby's head making her giggle in her sleep zo'ile smiled.
"Good night mother" zo'ile said as she walked out of the hut
"Good night ma daughter"
Zo'ile walked into her hut on to meet the chest of her mate Nawmrui.
Tumblr media
"Ma Zo'ile are you and At'ok alright what took so long?" Nawmrui asked before his eyes widden at the sight of the smaller na'vi in his mate and childs arms.
"Ma Nawmrui, Mo'at had came by for a visit and she brought her granddaughter. Neytiri and her mate didn't want the baby, when I laid eyes on her I felt the great mother telling me to take her in as my own." Zo'ile said holding the baby's close
Nawmrui slowly got down on his knees to see the baby clearly, y/n had opened her sleepy eyes before giggle and reaching out for nawmrui gently placing her hand on his nose.
Nawmrui smiled "Oh great mother has blessed us with not one amazing child but now two. I am blessed" Nawmrui said as he got up and gently hugged his wife and his two children.
The next morning y/n had been introduced to the clan and they watched as y/ns kuru was connected to their spirit tree. The tree grew brighter and the clan was overjoyed to see the newest member of the Dushnikh clan
Nawmrui and zo'ile stared at their two children with nothing but love and care.
If the Sully's didn't want y/n the Dushnikh clan definitely did.

Love, Longing and Lust
Not proofread, contains slight nsfw (noncon)
"Princess, where are you heading to?"
The crown prince just wouldn't stop tailing you. It was a mistake to reunite with him. It was a mistake to reunite with both of them.
"... Princess?"
Both, of them.
You accidentally tripped yourself and was caught mid way by the second. His grip tightened a bit before he steadied you.
"Princess, what are you doing running around? It does not paint a... great portrait of you..."
While the second one was more 'calm', he was no exception to the unhingeness of this castle. This whole nation, you should have brought it down to fire.
"Tell him to stop tailing me around then perhaps I can finally act in modesty!"
You spat, while leaving them both, grumbling.
"What did you do?"
"Not much, just following her here and there!"
"... be mindful of your actions. She will soon be a part of our lineage"
".... .... I don't like that."
The first one was not pleased about it. To see you be wedded to another children of that bastard? He was the crown prince, so why couldn't he choose who to marry?
Simple. Because you were lower than the woman he was arranged with.
"We'll do something about that, I've asked someone to handle your fiancee personally"
"Hmm, then how are we going to share... in the end, only I get to marry her~ while you are nothing but a pristine man"
The first snickered at the second.
"Silence, for I am no longer tempted with earthly desires"
Lie.
Liar.
....
..
.
"What?! Why is it suddenly rearangged?!"
"Why does it even matter?! Look! We got someone who is even better than that cow!"
Both of them handled it well. The supposed fiancee? Only history knows what happened.
"But I don't want to! He is nothing but a creep! Urghh, just thinking about him made me feel, urph-"
The dispute between you and your father never found its own ending. In the end, you were wedded to the crown prince. While it was questionable, your family paid no mind of it. If their daughter could be wedded and mentioned into the lineage, who wouldn't accept?
The whole wedding was opulent, the lights illuminated in the whole building painted everyone in awe. But not for you.
"Do you think you can vow your love for eternity?"
"Formalities"
"We'll consummate tonight though"
"Formalities."
"With a witness, that is"
"!! Huh?"
You should have questioned him further but you didn't. His hands just wouldn't stop pestering you enough. One squeezing your hip while the other one just traveled wherever it wanted to be.
"I think you should really mind your manner"
"Why? We are both spouses to each other now"
"You-"
"Let's stop bothering her, alright?"
If your internal organs could scream, they'd be screaming happily to see your spouse sulking. Of course it didn't last long when the night fell.
Your first night.
".... what? Come again?"
"I said~ we need a witness for what we are about to do?"
"Witness?! Are you nuts?! Let go of me!"
Why must he told you that when you guys are mid way of playing around now? And who exactly was this witness? Just when you were about to get yourself off the bed, he held you back by the ankle and,
"He's going to watch us and swear to god that we have done it well~"
You looked toward the door. It's the second. Obviously you stated throwing tantrums, telling him to leave.
"Darling...", his grip tightened, almost painful.
"You get to choose. Either I prepare you really well for our first time or..."
He grabbed your chin and made you face the second.
"I penetrate you dry and plainfully bloody"
"Hiii-!"
"Now then, I'd be pleased if you beg yourself for the first!"
Humiliaton. Endless humiliation. Not only did you have to beg for the first one, you also had to bear the shame of someone else watching your bare body and expressions changing.
"Please... huk-"
Your tears wouldn't stop rolling. But no one cared. No one cared.
No one.
...
..
.
(I just wanna get to the Second's turn)
"... do you think God really exist somewhere?"
Your question caught him off guard while he was praying. God?
"If so... I wonder how much indecencies he wanted me to bear"
Right, the Second did not stop what he had to do every time they did it. 'Witnessing the love they were bearing' was nothing but a joke.
"... I believe this is no question you should pose in the holy-"
"Do you even conside yourself holy?"
"...Pardon?"
"... of course not, excuse me", you scoffed at him before leaving.
He started to think. Think. Think. And think. He was thinking hard enough to stop you by the wrist and,
"... I think, you are not holy enough.."
"Wha-?"
Splash!
The holy water, you are literally inside it now, drenched from top to toes!
"What the hell do you think you are do-"
A kiss to seal your lip from bickering, a really deep kiss. It's way too scandalous! You tried to free yourself from his grip but he just wouldn't let go!
"I said, I don't think you are holy enough"
His hands started to undress you.
"That's why, I'll do my best,"
Another kiss.
"To make you, the holiest."
You tried to get off from the water itself until you felt someone pushed your head down into the water.
"Great~ great~! Now then, let's proceed!"
You brought your head back to the surface.
"You-! What are you doing?! Can't you see what he's doing to your wife?!"
"But he's done nothing wrong right?"
"What?"
"Kekeke, we already promised each other that if we, or one of us, decided to make you bear our love... the other one will make sure to watch everything. To ensure that the whole thing was proceeded well and safe!"
Your heart dropped. No, no, no. Don't.
The second grabbed you by your jaw and made you faced him.
"God wanted you to bear our love and I shall carry it out, please, accept the blessing from the child of God"
Ah.
..
.
"Hmmm~ whose child is it, I wonder!!"
".... one thing for sure is that it is undoubtedly, the new child of God"
"Or perhaps children?! I can't wait to see them!"
You were not excited to see them.
But if God wanted otherwise,
Who were you to complain.

Chapter 3
Description: where the hell did this motivation come from?! Anyway. Ray gets some background added here, also soon to be reunited with some old friends, if you can call them that, of hers. Hint: they’re Mexican…
Tumblr media
You shouldn’t have hesitated. Should have marched straight on out while you still had the chance. But he had called you by your name. It still catches you off guard. You much prefer to be detached from people, you like the unfamiliarity of Ray, or better yet, sergeant, soldier, or whatever the hell your higher ups wanted to call you.
“Please, y/n, wait..” he tries again. You close your eyes at the sound of your name, once again, caught off guard. “Let me explain.. please..”
“Don’t start begging, Garrick” you murmur, not turning around, scared that if you make eye contact with him, he might sway you.
“Give us a chance. C’mon. For old time’s sake, huh? We were always a good team, me and you.. once you get to know the oth”—
“Stop right there. Don’t go any further” you warn, still not facing him, but holding up a hand in a signal to halt his rambling.
“You left, moved on to bigger and better things.. I get that, Gaz, I do, and well done for that.. but I was left in the dirt, remember? Called in to help provide extra support for your op. My entire unit was wiped from existence within hours. And you expect me to come skipping back into the fray, with a team of strangers, might I add, who already have prior reason not to trust me, and expect me to put my neck on the chopping board..?”
Kyle looks taken aback by your outburst, gulping slightly. “No.. no, it’s not like that.. and, I’m not a stranger, am I?” he says with a hopeful smile.
“Aren’t you?” you reply, with a bite. Kyle inhales sharply, clearly upset by your mean words.
“..you’ve changed” he speaks now, quietly. Your stomach drops, it sounded more like he was accusing you.. it didn’t feel good. It felt like you were letting him, hell - everyone, down.
Really? Hadn’t noticed your brain supplies, but doesn’t verbalise. You just scoff at his statement instead, trying not to let it eat you alive.
“When we first met, when we were sixteen, seventeen?.. you were happier.. nicer” yeah, that’s a low blow, Garrick... “you were proud to be serving. I remember thinking ‘wow she’s one of the good ones’.. y’know? Not one of the pricks that join as a dick measuring contest, but someone who wanted to make a different. Try to save lives, and do the right thing…”
You listen to Kyle, his words actually starting to make inroads into breaking down the wall you’d built. No, don’t let him in!!
“I was ignorant” you mutter.
“No, you weren’t”
“I was stupid” you rebut, quickly.
“Definitely weren’t. You’re were the smartest of all of us. Still are, probably” Kyle argues.
“Fine whatever.. I’m not like that anymore. The me from before.. she’s misshapen and deformed. She’s gone. There’s no coming back from that.”
“Nah, she’s still there somewhere..the fact you’re still standing there, listening to me, tells me otherwise..” damn you, Garrick.
As if on cue, the bitch nurse from the front desk pops her head through the door. “Time’s up” she snips.
“I was just leaving anyway” you snap back, stepping forward to leave the room. You expect Kyle to pipe up from behind you, try to convince you to stay. But he stays silent. That’s weird. Why do I want to look? Why is my head turning without my consent?
You look back. Stupid bitch, why did I look back?! Your eyes are instantly drawn to his. He is looking right back at you, with strength and determination in his eyes. He gives you a single nod. “I’ll see you later, Ray”.
Will you? You sound so sure about that..?
Fucking Kyle Garrick! That boy had managed to wear you down. You’d spent so long building up those walls, convincing yourself that you weren’t a soldier anymore, convincing yourself that you were out. For good. Why then, were your feet matching you straight back towards the Captain’s office?
You barge through, not going to the bother of knocking. The three men, who were clearly in the thick of a heated discussion, go silent, and stare at you. You take three strong steps up to the Captain’s desk, slamming both hands against the wood, loudly.
“You have about two minutes to explain why I’m here, what you want from me, and why you’ve kept tabs on me for years” you growl at the Captain, who looks completely calm, as is this was normal for him.
“Awkt, see! Telt you the lassie would come around tae the idea!” the Scottish voice laughs, in the silence of the office.
You spin, like a beast possessed, marching toward the mo-hawked man, grabbing him by the front of his shirt, shaking him up slightly.
“And YOU, have about two seconds, to shut the fuck up, or get the fuck out. I don’t know who the fuck you are, but if you keep talking to me, or about me, you’ll find out what my fuckin’ fist feels like..” his mouth snaps shut, and he nods, in an almost childlike way.
The masked Lieutenant just grumbles a short chuckle, and stays silent.
You return to Price’s desk and raise an eyebrow, checking your watch dramatically (totally ignoring the fact that your wrist was not clad in a watch whatsoever)
“Minute and a half left, captain. Better start taking..” you warn.
“Alright, soldier, listen up. I tried to take both you and Garrick at the same time. Red tape bullshit stopped me from doing that. I went to the higher ups and by the time I was cleared to take you, you’d been absorbed into another unit. We were busy on ops and time ran away from me. Gaz kept on nagging me to get onto Laswell, but all I kept hearing was that you were deployed, over seas, on leave and so on..”
You listen, in silence, hunched over his desk, the anger that had been radiating off of you, slowly, ever so slowly, dissipating.
“Anyway, when your unit crossed paths in Russia, I had planned to bring the transfer up to Laswell upon completion, seeing as you were finally right there, in front of us. I don’t think anyone expected it to end the way it did. We were fed bad intel, the mission was a bust. You know as well as I do, you were all wiped. We only just made it out, Shepherd somehow weaselled his way out as well, not even a scratch on the old bastard” Price scoffs, clearly not a fan of Shepherd.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry that it went wrong.. really..” he apologises. I look at my boots, and gulp.
“30 seconds left..” I grit out, trying not to show emotion.
“We circled back, covered the dead zones. You weren’t there. We assumed.. you were killed. Gaz wouldn’t leave it, though. At the very least, that boy wanted to bury a body. But there was nothin’ to be found of you apart from a smashed up pistol, that Garrick insisted was yours. I must admit, I didn’t understand why he was so adamant about you. You were a stranger to the rest of us, after all..”
“To cut a long story short, we’ve needed someone with your skillset for a few years. I would have given you a contract the day of the ceremony, but.. we know what happened. I saw it, that day, our first face to face conversation, that you needed a break. You needed time to cool off. I didn’t know Garrick had a tracker in his wallet. Not until he told me a few months later. I thought you’d reach out. Us soldiers, even when we promise that we’re out for good, we crawl back, hell or high water. When you didn’t surface, after a year, I asked Laswell to check on you.. to make sure you hadn’t…”
“Wishful thinking..” you interrupt, solemnly joking at the fact they’d thought you’d topped yourself.
The captain’s jaw ticks at your dark humour, but he continues anyway. “I have a few pieces of intel that we need to follow. We are headed to Mexico, within the week, could do with a sniper and Spanish speaker.. I want you to be a member of Taskforce 1-4-1. I want you to understand, though, that this team is my family. We would bleed and die for each other. If you join, that extends to you. Understood?”
“………”

“Mother, please.” You begged, voice absolutely wrecked. Desperation settled in your gut, making you dizzy and nauseous. The illness of it was debilitating even through the hum of drugs waning in your system. Sobs were wracking your body, exploding from your ribcage in painful bursts. You struggled against the cuffs on your wrists, the cuffs around your ankles, rotating them in hopes of finding weakness but they were strong. But they were made of beskar, strong and programmed to shock you should you jostle them too much. Using the culture of the very people who had meant salvation now for damnation. She had made sure they would hold you this time.
She just sat there, watching you from the chair by the door. Long hair pulled up into a knot atop her head, blue tunic and black trousers flowing and clean. Her hands clasped in front of her, resting her chin against them as her eyes took in the slump of your form across the small room. You were on the ground, legs numb from the hard, unforgiving stone underneath you. Boots removed and down to nothing but your simple clothing. She had taken the pendant from you, the one Din had gifted you in the wake of your confession to losing the one from Akiz. It glinted over her own chest, visible where she allowed it to drape over the front of her collar.
“Please. I don’t want to be here. I want to go back to the ship. I want to go home.”
“Oh no, my darling, you won’t be going anywhere near that disgusting ship again. That Mandalorian has caused enough damage, stealing you away after taking your fob. I still had to pay the Guild fee for your bounty. Credits you know we didn’t have in the first place.” She paused, her hands clasped together, elbows on her knees, and she leaned forward to rest her hand atop them. A wicked smile overtook her as she eyed you across the room.
“Luckily, I found someone who was willing to cover the cost and offer to take you as their wife. They’ve put a lot of energy and credits into helping locate you. They will be here in two days’ time to collect you.”
She looked almost mournful at the idea of you leaving so soon after reuniting. Of sharing you with another after claiming to do everything she had ever done to you out of protection.
“But he swore to protect you from any threats, from the Mandalorians that seem to be obsessed with owning you, harnessing your power to help them crawl from the cracks of the universe they ran to hide in when their planet was destroyed. This man, he’s from a very important royal line that is deeply rooted in the New Republic.”
“The New Republic is a joke, they can’t even keep their own soldiers happy, let alone protect anyone.”
“Hush now, darling.” She got up and the black tin she kept in her pocket flashed in her hand. You began thrashing even more so, tears cascading down your cheeks as she approached you. The click of the tin opening sent you back to every other time you had heard that sound in your life, eyes going wide and your breath left you as if you had been hit square in the chest. “The time will fly by with this dose and then we’ll be off to our new home.”
Tumblr media
He’d been searching the city for days.
Despite the thrumming of pain through his head, his vision blurring, and the helmet resting too heavy on the now soft, new skin that was his injury. Tender fingers carefully spraying bacta and skin itching as the tissue tried to heal with its aid. He wished for your smaller hands to be the one caring for him, but he was alone. Alone with a fussing child that was beginning to use his powers to get his feelings across since he was still learning how to talk and use his little voice.
Not taking any time to rest, instincts telling him something was wrong, that something had happened. You wouldn’t just run off, even with what had occurred. At least…not for this long. He hoped. He…hoped.
Stalking through the various casinos and cantina’s, searching for any traces of you to be found. Even in the hectic atmospheres of the racetracks and brothels, of seedier bars and establishments you may have ducked into or been taken to by the force of whoever had stolen you away. Snatched you from whatever you had sought out to calm yourself.
He sat in front of the tracking fob given to him when he first took the job to return you to your mother for hours. Set it atop the control panels in the cockpit, helmet removed and head in his hands as he contemplated turning the device back on. He had scoured the hotels and seedier hostels with it in his grip, to no avail.
It was as if you had simply vanished.
Your smiles and laughter, soft sighs and teasing quips a figment of his imagination.
Made up in the loneliness that accompanied the type of life he led. Missions, jobs, hunting, tracking, trading in criminals and runaways for next to nothing, refueling the ship and hitting the ground running again, taking to the air and space again. And again, and again. He didn’t realize how tired and monotonous it had all become, despite the thrill of his skills proofing to be elite time and time again. He didn’t realize how much he had been missing out on until you threw it all off track. Deliver the goods and credits to the covert, ensure they were safe and protected, collect another job, hunt, track, kill, injure, collect. Broke the routine he had been so accustomed to with an utterance of his dying language.  Rolling off your tongue with precision.
It had been striking. You had been striking and he had torn you down in a way he never wanted to, unintentionally with a fumbling lack of words. It was maddening, to search for days to find no trace of you anywhere.
There was no indication you ever existed aside from those left behind on his ship. The mug of caf sweetened with sugar and powdered milk at the table, the pack of your cigarras you always insisted on smoking outside while it was docked, the crate with your tools and materials used to make armor, the neat and organized labels you had applied to everything within the panels. The room he had set up for you….though you often split your time between his own and the hammock still hung up in the hold space.
He had left it all untouched, too afraid to erase the pieces of evidence that you were real. That you had been aboard his ship. That you had been trying to connect with him and he stumbled over his words so badly he made you feel unwanted on such a level that made you run.
Like the acts between you two had just been him seeking out pleasure with no real intent other than that behind them. The thought that you must’ve felt like he was just like every other person who had ever used you made his stomach turn and bile burn in his throat. Only his ploys had been steeped in honey and saccharine promises. He had frozen, the words he wanted to whisper to you lost in the panic of the moment, of wanting exactly what you were asking for. It had all been so overwhelming. It had been so real, felt so real, and it had been a jarring realization.
That he had wanted to remove his helmet and give into your request.
Despite the Creed he swore his life to. Despite the commitment he had made to you that would allow for him to do so in time.
But now it was too little too late.
After the third day, he was beginning to think you weren’t merely taking some time to yourself…
Maybe he was foolish to think he hadn’t messed up so monumentally that you had found a way off world and run even further from him. But he knew you weren’t the type of person to do that. To him, to ad’ika.
Burc’ya. Friend.
Ner kar’ta. My heart.
Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum. I love you.
Vencuyot riduur. Future husband.
You wouldn’t have run from him to that degree, loyal and devoted. Loving and caring, kind hearted at the very core of who you were. Even despite the tragedies and ill-natured things you had been subjected to in your life. Good. Too good, for someone like him.
He was beginning to think something had happened.
But without the aid of your communication, vambraces still set atop the makeshift table along with your main bag and armor, he had no way of knowing for sure. Just the niggling feeling in his gut that was burrowing deeper by the second.
He sent a transmission to Karga, asking if there was any news of your arrest before deeming the planet a lost cause and raising the ramp. He took the Crest up up up and into the air, helmet scouring the shrinking planet all the while, feeling an ache in his heart that he didn’t think he would ever get used to.
He had to push through, he had to focus. You needed someone to help you, wherever you had gone or been taken. You needed him to find you. He needed to find you.
Tumblr media
Ad’ika had been in a constant flux from eerily silent to wailing as loud as his little lungs would allow, wide eyes brimming with tears the longer you were gone. Din had taken to wrapping the child up in the cloak he had bought you, securing it with the metallic flower latches and laying him down in the cot alongside him. Never sleeping, only laying down intermittently to pass the time. Rest evading him as his mind began to think of the things that could’ve happened to you.
Tatooine was his first stop, no response from Karga when he docked and secured the ship in Pelli’s hangar. Much to his disappointment, the travel through hyperspace hadn’t been too long, so a response was wishful thinking on his part. Spurred on by the endless possibilities of what happened consuming him.
He was silent as he handed her the credits from your bag, loathing that he needed to use them as he lacked his own. Even now, gone from him and hurt, you were still offering him help. Providing for him the way he should be for you, the way that he wanted to. The reality of having asked you to travel with him weighing heavily on his mind. Once ad’ika is settled with those who could train him, Din would need to take up working with the Guild full time again to provide for the covert. A life steeped in danger and endless threats, a life you already had far too much experience with. Perhaps…perhaps he could secure a tract of land somewhere, a place to return to after jobs. A nice cabin surrounded by trees and an endless supply of anything you may need. Or perhaps a shop front on Nevarro, for you to sell you wares. He would take extra jobs to provide that for you, work his hands to the bone and until he could barely move for how exhausted he was.
Because you deserved it. You deserved to be happy and he was beginning to think that may not be with him. Not if he was constantly away or you were left on the ship for days, weeks, months at a time while he tracked down his quarries. Constantly traveling through space and left to handle the ship alone.
Would…would you even want that type of life?
Wouldn’t it be another type of imprisonment, no reward but a tired and aching man in the bed beside you only a handful of nights? Half of him given to you, half devoted to his Creed.
I’d rather be dead than be someone’s captive again. Even if it’s as one to you, jatne vod.
Thoughts consuming him, there was no argument from him as he left ad’ika with her to look through the city.
The lack of your figure emerging from the ship didn’t prompt any questions from her, though he could sense them on the tip of her tongue and the front of her mind.
He set out, looking for the woman who you made friends with the last time he had landed the Crest on the sandy planet.
He found her, in the middle of a scuffle in the marketplace over a stolen loaf of bread. A child whose stomach was caved in and bruises over their arms visible when the sleeves of their tunic rose up. The vendor wanted the child to be taken in, punished for the attempted theft. But he could see how conflicted Sioban was with following that heated demand.
Diffusing the situation, seeing the form he had first encountered you in mirrored in the small child, he stepped forward and offered a handful of credits to the vendor.
“To cover the bread for the child, two loaves and that chunk of cured meat.”
“Sir, this has nothing to do with you. You don’t need to put yourself out for that ungrateful litte-“
“Take it.” Din’s head throbbed, exhausted and anxious, just trying to do something good. Something you would do. They were your credits, and he wanted to do this. At the fixed stare of his visor, the vendor released the child from her tight grip, nearly throwing the small frame to the ground as she did. Roughly, she gathered the loaf that had started the whole ordeal, a second one, and the wrapped meat. Holding it out for him to take.
Sioban ushered everyone who had stopped in their tracks to go about their business. Once the small crowd cleared and attention was diverted, Din turned to the child and crouched down.
“Here, for you.” He kept his voice a hush, not wanting the modulator to manipulate his voice into a threatening or menacing tone it tended to do, taking the emotion from his words more often than not.
“T-thank you, sir.”
“Now go and stay out of trouble.”
An enthusiastic nod and they were running off, disappearing down the street.
“Well, well, well. Mando is a softie afterall.” Sioban’s voice lightly teased. “Where’s Sarad and the baby? Or is this a solo trip this time around?”
“I would like to speak with you, if you have the time.”
“Something happened.” The woman’s features hardened, a slant to her brow as her eyes looked him over before settling on the visor. She didn’t look or feel like a threat, something proven further by your willingness to share a table with the woman. But Din was fighting his instincts, the ones telling him to chase chase chase, even with no actual leads as to where you had gone. And this woman might hold some clues or at least be able to offer Din a higher chance if he had someone on the ground of the planet you had run to once already.
“Yes.”
Tumblr media
The conversation with Sioban hadn’t yielded any answers. If anything, it solidified that Din had absolutely no idea what to do. With no other leads, he fell back on his tracking tactics, searching for your last place of known residence.
Once back to the ship, he silently takes ad’ika from Pelli. Not responding to the looks or faint questioning he knew was on the woman’s mind. A nod, a formal shaking of the woman’s hand and he was guiding the Crest back into the air to comb over the planet as best he could. You had said you thought you were here when he took you from that compound, a home you had hidden away on this world after running from your mother years ago.
It took him nearly a week’s worth of days of flying low to the land before he caught sight of a structure.
Mind working overdrive as he strained his eyes through the visor with aided mechanics for any sign of life amid the vast stretch of the desert landscape. Sectors outlined and crossed out when they didn’t yield anything. Errant skeletons of a bantha, the Jawa’s traveling across the land, and Tusken settlements the only markers of time passing and the ship moving moderately along.
And then, suddenly.
There were two tall spires beside a moderate looking abode. Moisture farming equipment, the same you had told him about replacing shortly before your capture. Was all he had to go off of, a small conversation that you hadn’t expanded on in your time with him.
The structure was like most far out into the desert, mostly underground with a rounded and smooth stone roof, a door with a protected entrance to prevent sand from building up right up against it. It was modest, big enough for one person to have plenty of room. Abandoned, by his guess, the stone of the building chipped in places from sand and the spare storm weathering it down.
It had to be yours, it had to be, please let it be yours were his thoughts as he broke the lock still activated, ensuring the structure was protected even out in the middle of nowhere. Mos Eisley was an entire day’s travel away. Even more so in any other direction to another of the planets handful of moderate settlements. A good place to hide. Visibility on your side. A lonely place to hide.
I’ve always loved the forest.
The memory how your tired and injured features had lit up at the sight of Sorgan visible through the glass of the cockpit, the breathy gasp that had fallen from your lips sprung to his mind. You had been so calm, despite the precarious circumstances, stealing away moments to brush your bare fingers along the leaves reaching out from low branches.
You must’ve been miserable here. The land so dry and empty, the closest mountain ridges barely visible on the horizon. Even those were spotty with tangled roots that held little to no greenery. Sentencing yourself to the wasteland to live out your life in fear and comfortability, hoping the environment you weren’t fond of would throw those searching for you off your trail.
Glancing behind him, Din watched as ad’ika slowly made his way down the ramp. Little sounds falling from his lips as he took in the sight of his guardian in front of a new place he didn’t recognize. Raising his hands as he got to the bottom of it, Din retreated to it and lifted up the small child, holding him tight in the crook of his elbow as he descended down the few steps and through the open door.
It was dark inside, no lights on or power source even charged, no doubt. But definitely abandoned. Sparingly decorated, though he could feel that it was once your space. The kitchen equipped with a fancy caf maker, ample kitchen wares, potted plants and herbs that had long died and dried in the sunlight coming in through the windows. There was an impressively organized wall of shelving right above a desk in the large main room, presumably where you would work on crafting armor. The only way to support yourself in such an environment. Most likely making trips into town in order to sell or trade.
There were three interior doors at the back of the structure. A heavy duty one off to the side of the kitchen. That one contained a greenhouse set up, or as close to one as you could imitate underground and on so hot a planet. There was a large panel of controls beside the door on the inside, telling Din of the way you controlled the pressure and moisture of the room One to a storage room, more evidence of your time spent here. Full of large bins and crates, evidence of grains and dried food. Of the pieces of armor you lovingly and intricately crafted.
One to a fresher, the last to what was once your bedroom.
Underneath the bed is where he found it, with the aid of his helmet. The massive rug that took up most of the bedroom floor hiding it in plain sight. The trap door exposed when he moved the bed and folded the rug up.
It wasn’t secured with anything that he could see, even with the aid of his helmet. It looked just like score marks dug into the stone ground. And he recalled the way you could effortlessly wield the Force, the power you shared with the child. Perhaps you hadn’t wanted a way for anyone else to access what lay hidden beneath, using it to manipulate the hideaway you felt you needed even this deep in the desert alone. Forever paranoid and fearful of being tracked down and found out.
Sighing, Din tried to think of a way to break the barrier, knowing he needed to search the entire home.
“Ad’ika,” He called, turning to see the child had situated himself on the couch in the main room. Eyes wide as he toyed with a broken collar. He wondered if it had belonged to a creature you had cared for, run away or long since passed now. “Ad’ika, can you help me?”
Leaning down to pick up the occupied child, Din pointed a gloved finger to the marks in the stone ground.
“Ad’ika, see these lines?” A gurgle of acknowledgement, the tilting of his head. “There’s a door here, that leads underground. Mesh’la put it there, do you think you can open it?”
Din set him down in front of it, crouching down to hold his hand out in front of them both and mimic the way you would twist your hand in concentration to harness your powers.
“Just like Mesh’la, like how you take the handle from the lever in the control room?”
Wide eyes looked up at him, curiosity in them at the man’s words.
If this didn’t work…he could always resort to using the charges fastened to his belt. Force a way through the entrance, but he didn’t want to damage the space or the room below.
But the crackling of stone was sharp as it sounded in the air. The child’s small face scrunched up in concentration, his eyes clenched shut as he harnessed his powers. Quiet grunts falling from his mouth as he struggled to move the stone.
But it was working. It was opening, the telltale sounds of stone grinding on stone as the thick slab that acted as an entrance was pried open.
“Good job, ad’ika! It’s working!” He couldn’t contain the pride in his voice nor the rapid beating of his heart. Positive that any answers he was in search of would dwell below. He moved forward to help lift the heavy slab, shoving it along the floor and revealing a dark space into the lower level of the house.
Turning on the flashlight of his helmet, Din descended into the bowels of your hideaway. Dust enveloped him as he waved at ad’ika to stay put on the higher level until he cleared the space.
It was a large room, the same size as the whole top floor of the structure. Though it was only two rooms, a living room and a bedroom with a second fresher. The living room held floor to ceiling bookcases, filled to the brim with physical books. A holo net in front of the couch, signs that you spent just as much time down here as you did in the rest of the structure if not more.  He hated the realization that you felt the need to hide away even this far out in the desert, this far out in the galaxy. Forever paranoid and holding the fear that you would be tracked down. And he had been a part of that fear, he had been one of the many who had sought you out.
The crate in the bedroom caught his eye, beckoning him forward. Not only because of the hefty locks sealing it shut but because there was energy around it that made the tips of his fingers tingle. Much like his blood when he felt your body pressed up to his own, the sacrament of your trust in him personified.
Walking toward it, the small baby curls of his recently trimmed hair prickled on the back of his neck.
Snapping the thick locks, he kneeled on the ground in front of it and slowly lifted the lid.
His breath left him as the visor set into a midnight blue, almost black Mandalorian helmet peered back up at him. It was in pristine condition, as if it had merely been taken off for the man who he suspected wore it to partake in a quick meal and not the reality that it had been stored here for who knows how many years untouched. He hadn’t asked if you had kept it, after the man’s death, but he was felt the question bubble on his tongue more than once. But the answer was sitting obvious and blaring right in front of him.
Lifting it revealed the very same pendant he had gifted to you, attached to a thinly crafted beskar chain.
The one you had said you intended to show him in order to garner his help, to let him know of your connection to his way of life. Lost in the scuffle of being taken off guard and whisked away, but it was here, awaiting your return. He wondered why you hadn’t worn it that day, the day that set your paths up to cross. With slow movements, he began to remove the cowl about his neck, laying it down beside him.
With a held breath, he reached for the pendant and fastened it around his neck, tucking it beneath his shirt and layers of protective ware fronted by his cuirass. The cowl going back in place.
Beside the helmet…beside it was a neatly arranged line of metal hilts similar to the one you carried with you at all times. Similar to the one you had tried to buy your freedom from him with when first meeting.
Similar but not identical.
There were four of them. Lightsabers, you had told him they were called. That he now knew were an integral part of the creed you had been trained in. But the fact remained that he didn’t know the why of how many you had in your possession.
You had said each person similar in skill and training crafted their own, each unique and personal to an individual much like the helmets and armor Mandalorian’s adorned. Carefully picking one up, tingling traveling further up his arms and settling down his back, he tilted it to see that it did indeed house a crystal like your own. Each one had a different hue.
Tumblr media
He decided to stay in the place that you once called home that night, locking up the ship after checking to see if he had received word from Karga. But when there were transmissions waiting to be heard, he secured the ship. His head hurting and his mind overwhelmed at finding pieces of you, proof that you existed outside of his memories.
Settling into the bed, he knew it was a lost cause as he tried to feel close to you. Reality reminding him you hadn’t slept in either of the cots aboard the ship in nearly two weeks now, years for the bed he now lay atop, cover bunched underneath his arms as he curled on his side and regarded the journal you left behind in your haste to run. Ad’ika resting atop the pillow beside his own, wrapped in your cloak as if it was the softest blanket in the universe. The child trying to feel close to you as well, missing you and growing more concerned each day.
Sleep evaded him, your voice loud in his head, the way you had sounded so devoid of emotion when he had failed to communicate with you. Tipping into different memories, the most prominent of the events back on Nevarro.
It rang in his ears, over and over, layering itself until it was a buzz he couldn’t rid himself of.
Ner kar’ta.
The desperation in your voice, the tears in your eyes, the way your hands shook as they reached out for him, how gentle they were when they cradled his helmet. The soft press of your forehead to his chest, to his helmet, to his hands grasped in your own as he lay bloodied and injured, barely conscious and so tired. So ready for death after a life that had only allowed him a glimpse of you. To ensure you could escape and continue to live, to be safe.
You had told him, as well as you could, what you meant to him.
Had shown him, with trusting him to press his skin to yours, body tangled with his own. Nervous giggles sounding into the air and seizing his heart as he wanted for more of them. Of the breathy sighs and sounds that fell from your lips as you let him caress your skin, the soft give of your chest, the plush give of your thighs, the velvet smooth apex between them.
Trusted him with the most intimate parts of you, parts of human connection. Even in the face of all that you had endured.
And then you has whispered it, half asleep and safe underneath him.
I love you. Future husband.
And he shattered it. With a foolish blunder of words he hadn’t been able to reign in, to explain himself and his own desires in a more coherent way. That he wanted you just as you wanted him.
Jatne vod.
Contradicted with the emotion bleeding from your expressive eyes, the firm line of your lips as you closed your mouth, resigned to a notion that you gathered from his stupid, ill thought-out words. From his lack of words. The way your hands shook for an entirely different reason, the way you shrunk into yourself, away from him.
And then you had been gone.
And it hurt.
He left ad’ika in the room, fast asleep atop the pillows.
Removing his helmet and hanging his head in his hands, he settled on the couch. For the first time in a long time, the Mandalorian known for being so ruthless, for being so focused and emotionless behind his helmet, cried.
Tumblr media
“Mando, I’ve received word. But it is best relayed in person. I will be awaiting your arrival.”
Ad’ika was not having a good day, he didn’t want to leave the house he could feel your presence in. He had already wailed and shook his tiny fists as Din tried to pick up him. Causing the migraine addled man to lose his grip at the sharp pierce of his cries to his head. That had only resulted in the thump of ad’ika’s bottom on the stone floor and more crying.
Din already felt bad enough, but he felt like the worst guardian in the galaxy for dropping his foundling, for not being able to manage his own pain and discomfort to care for another’s. A pang of fear floods him, igniting his instincts in a way it rarely did. And he froze in his crouched position, having been about to scoop ad’ika up.
The child must’ve shared in his foreboding, a shriek sprouting from him and causing Din to cradle his head as best he could with the helmet, knees kissing the floor harshly as he fell to them.
Something was wrong. Low in his gut, unease bubbled and stuck to his insides.
He felt like he was going to be sick, his head throbbing, pain prickling from the healing scar at the back.
And then his body felt numb, like all sense of command was not his to control and his vision blacked out.
Tumblr media
Nevarro loomed in the distance, approaching fast. The ship rattled at the harsh landing, Din’s steps hard and fast as he disembarked, the ramp closing behind him as he crossed the new archway that had been erected in the time he had been away. Months had gone by, one with you and one without. Having to spend another week resting in the place you once called home. He had fallen ill, though of what he didn’t have an answer. Only that his head felt like he had been electrocuted and his limbs had been hard to control. Adi’ka too, had been lethargic, crying out long into the night every time the suns had set and darkness took over the planet. The search for you stretching far too long, anxiety thrumming over his skin.
Karga was in the reconstructed city hall, reading over something laid out on the table when the door boomed open, revealing the determined figure of Din, a secretary behind him frantically trying to warn the man in charge of his arrival.
“Where?”
“Sir, please, you need to check in-“
“It’s alright, he’s got clearance.” With a nod the woman was closing the door behind her, knowing it was serious if all protocol was being ignored.
Din repeated his question, forgoing a formal greeting.
“Well, I wish these were better circumstances.” The man stood up, coming around the table and leaned against it, his arms crossed over his chest as he took in the still form of Din across the room. The wide eyes of the child peeking out from the bag at his hip, small hands allowing him to climb from within it and jump from the moderate height. He cooed, walking the distance to Karga and lifting his hands toward the man.
“I’m still trying to get intel on that. But I do know that it was her mother, who struck a deal with someone of the Guild. He…was here still when we took back the city. He had taken the transaction separate from the Guild, not wanting word of it to get back to me. To you.” He relayed the information as he bent down to pick up the small being.
“I’ve got him locked up, but he’s not speaking.”
“He will.”
“Mando-“
He was gone in a blink, stalking out the door and toward the prison cells kept on the lowest floor of the building.
The stone steps opened up to a line of cells on both sides of the long room, Din stopped in front of the only occupied one. Body buzzing with anger that the inhabitant had not only hunted you down and captured you but did so on the orders of someone who’s voice triggered you through a transmission. He couldn’t begin to imagine the visceral reaction you’d have upon seeing her for the first time in years, having entertained the thought of killing yourself in order to not have to deal with her again.
And he feared, heat catching in his throat as he felt the prickle of tears.
I’d rather be dead than be shackled for one more second of my life!
You…you wouldn’t, right? Now that you had him to return to, someone to rescue you from being stolen away from the life you had carved out for yourself. It had been so long since you had been taken, days, weeks, and entire month. And he still had no clue as to where you had been crated off to. It would be more days, more weeks, maybe another month before he could figure it out. Did you already seize an unknown opportunity, try to escape? Or had you given up, too loaded up with whatever drugs your mother and intended pumped into your system to make you compliant? Would you have taken the endless out of harming yourself, seeing it as the only option as he failed to come to your aid thus far?
Would you be able to sense the desperation and endless efforts he was putting forth to find you? That he was trying, despite the way he was still healing, despite the sense of dread that he would be too late?
Would you be able to sense his worry and fear over you having to deal with something you never wished for? A forced reunion with your mother, back in her clutches and control. A forced marriage to a man you didn’t know, the obligations that came along with that notion…the very same acts that had caused you to turn to self-harm in the past, the scars of which were displayed on the skin of your thighs, the same ones that he had run his fingers over not too long ago…
A man bound in cuffs was slumped against the floor, back leaning on the wall behind him. He appeared to be alive, though if his answers didn’t aid Din in his search for you he wouldn’t be for long. Giving into the urge to startle the unaware man, Din banged a fist on the bars of the cell. Jerking awake, the man’s eyes flew open and his chest heaved.
The second he recognized the armor, his eyes narrowed and he frowned.
“It was just a job, nothing personal, Mando.”
“Is that why you went out of your way to hide it from the Guild records?”
“You’re too self-righteous, knew you’d come after me for hunting the girl.”
The snapping of metal was loud, sickening as Din’s shoulders forced the control panel to bend and spark.
The whine of the door swinging open deafening as the man pressed himself back into the wall, trying to get up on his feet. But he was too slow, Din’s hands hauling the man up by the front of his jumpsuit and slamming him into the wall. A crack sounded as the back of the man’s head connected with the stone of the wall. A wail punched from his chest as he lost the air in his lungs.
“It’s too late, her mother married her off to some high lord. She’s probably already knocked up with his heir by now. Living a cush life in some nice palace far away from here.” He spoke unprompted by a direct question. Knowing that it was useless to try and lie to the Mandalorian.
The mere thought of someone touching you had anger swirling in his chest and stomach, igniting him in a dangerous way. You didn’t like people touching you, you didn’t like anyone who wasn’t him touching you in any way let alone intimately. His voice was low when he breathed out his next question, an edge to it that commanded the truth.
“Where?”
“Don’t know, I told her mother you were probably going to find out, track me down and kill me for the information. Don’t know why.” The man flipped the stray hairs flopping over his forehead away, teeth clenching as he recalled the way you had slammed him harshly into the side of the alley.  “The bitch has a pretty face, sure, but she was a handful. Took a lot to take her out, but once I did, she begged so sweet for me to let her go.”
“Drugging someone isn’t something to boast about, it’s a last-ditch effort for those who don’t have the skill for the job.” Din’s words were a guttural sound, echoing across the floor. Blood dripped from the man’s nose, a vambrace knocked into it the longer the man talked. He didn’t know anything, but that wouldn’t stop Din from beating what he could out of the man.
“So what? It took her down and that’s what mattered. I saw her take down those Storm Troopers that overran the city, there was no way I was going to be able to without the hint from her mother. You’ll find another body to warm your bed. No need to fret over-“
Din’s hand was around the man’s throat in a flash, knuckles popping with the force. An ugly gurgle deep in his chest, body desperate for air, but he would never take another breath again. Windpipe crushing under his palm, Din took some comfort in the final, choked sound the man made before his body went limp.
Before it could even crumple to the ground, Din was walking out of the room and going straight toward the stairs.
Tumblr media
“Mando, I sent communication to Cara, she’s-“
“I’ve got what I need.” Din was careful as he lifted the child from atop the desk where Karga had set him with a snack. Exchanging adoring coos with the tired little being. Making sure to offer the rest of the pack of dried fruit to the claws reaching out for it, a whine falling from his mouth at the idea of leaving it behind.
“Not so fast-“
“I don’t have time. I need to find her.” Din snapped, fists clenching and ad’ika ducking down into the bag at the boom of his voice. “She’s been sold like a slave by her mother.”
“I’m going with you,” Cara was firm in her decision, not wanting to take any chances of your distance becoming permanent. Of it leading to the demise of the person who you had begun to develop into that she had glimpsed.
“No, I have to handle this myself. I was the one who failed to protect her.” He moved to continue through the room, toward the door. But Cara was suddenly in front of him, her arms crossed over her chest and her lips a firm line.
“Mando, you’re gonna need help. And she’s important to me too.”
It was a quiet trek back to the entrance of the city, more ships having landed around his own. He was about to engage the ramp when two of the attending guards approached him. But they spoke with Cara at the sharp gaze of the visor on them. Another ship was offered for them to use, curtesy of the city and of Karga. Something a little smaller, a little faster, nondescript and wouldn’t give away the presence of an enraged and desperate Mandalorian searching for his partner.
When the argument for a different ship didn’t take, Karga approached through the archway.
Cara was hesitant to point out that the ship was as obvious as Din’s armor. A sign to tip off those keeping an eye out for threats. She had been quiet, sitting in the office with the magistrate and the child while the body of the now deceased Guild member who had hunted you down was taken care of. Waiting for Din to emerge from the containment level. But now she stood beside him, urging him to see the benefits to changing ships, just for the time being.
“Do we risk docking the ship in a hangar?”
“Yes, we lie about the model.” Din insisted, not wanting to leave the Crest behind.
“What if someone knows?”
“It’s an old ship, pre-Empire, no one will know.”
“They’ll run it through the system.” Karga spoke up, wanting to be a voice of reason for his friend determined to rush, to not take a beat and think things through. “Mando, you owe it to her to be as stealthy as possible. If they know you’re coming, once you track down where, they may hurt her. Take it out on her.”
Din closed his eyes, hand coming to the front of his helmet and over the visor. He didn’t want to part ways with his ship, even temporarily. It would mean he wasn’t surrounded by the things you left behind, the proof that you were real, had been with him, shared in a life with him even for a moment.
With his words more of a grunt than anything, he conceded, knowing the two beside him were just trying to help.
Tumblr media
“What did you do Mando?” She asked quietly, the book from your crate in her hands and pages flipping as she looked through it. Hoping to find some light on how to connect with you. Din had gathered supplies from the Crest, things you may want once he managed to find you and rescue you.Your armor and more of your clothing, the first things he packed into your bag. An insistence for you to never leave the ship without the pauldrons again that he would plead with you until you conceded. People would be less likely to confront you with the tell-tale signet of a clan and the Mandalorian armor. But then again, he never planned to stray far from you outside of the ship. He knew you were capable, more than capable, but he…he wouldn’t be able to handle loosing you again if he was able to get you back.
When he got you back, he argued against the self-depreciating and negative thoughts that were attempting to consume him.
The ship was in hyperspace, a three-day trip ahead of them to make it to the mid rim coordinates of your home world. Neither had been there but knew of the inhabitants being an uneven mix of humans and a reptilian race. Oceans and sprawling fields of tall grass making up most of the environment. It was a moderately size planet, had seen bases for both the Resistance and the Empire in it’s time. Though the more recent had been the former. Most likely spurred on by your suspected return to what you knew in the wake of the Temple’s attack. An event in your life that you had yet to open up completely about, allowing him small glimpses before it became to much to talk about. But it was easy to connect the fall of Mandalore and the fall of your Temple being equally devastating, an attempt to take out entire cultures.
“I…I made a mistake.”
“…how big of a mistake?” Cara didn’t look up from the journal in her hands, not wanting to make the armored man feel cornered. Allowing him the privacy and space to turn away from the question should he want to, feel the need to.
“She fled the ship, to get some space. She must’ve been distracted, too worked up to keep her head up and on alert. It…I’m the reason she was taken.”
“Mando, you know that’s not true.” Cara tried to placate him, knowing he carried a lot of guilt over what had happened, whatever it had been to cause all of this. “She didn’t have her saber?”
“She does- did. She.. they drugged her. Like you said, it’s the only way to take her down.”
“Wait, this looks like Basic. They’re the only characters written differently…”
Din was hovering, making out the words on his own.
“Betrothed.”
He recalled the same words falling from your lips, the reason that prompted you to make an escape. You hadn’t wanted to be someone’s wife, someone’s property. The name was in Basic as well, something you didn’t want to forget lest they come after you themselves. A shadow of your past hovering over you and hidden in the back of your mind as you set out on your own, determined to hide yourself away to prevent anyone from having power over you. Of belonging to someone, anyone ever again.
And yet…you had so readily agreed in his commitment to you, knowing that was the only way Din would be able to share in your affections and wants. Mandalorian religion and culture strictly forbade the removal of one’s helmet unless it was with family, with a spouse, with children of the same clan. To do so outside of those conditions would result in the label of an apostate. Striped of their involvement in the lifestyle and Creed. It was a serious thing you should hold reservations about, with your past.
And while he hadn’t pushed the parameters of it….he had wanted to. For you, for himself, to share himself with you in the way that you had felt safe enough to voice. The realization that you had agreed to such an all-encompassing thing, being with him made him reflect. Why were you willing to do so with him, for him? He was just a bounty hunter, one who had actively sought you out and intended to turn you into the very person who had stolen you away. Sold you like an object to someone for their wants and needs, to fill a space in their life whichever way they commanded it. He had been of the same mind when first encountering you, seeking you out for a trade of currency.
Din was not a good man, though he tried to be for his people. But being a good man to his people, being the sole provider for his covert allowed him to be fast and loose with what it meant to be good in order to do so. What did it matter if the person whose puck he had was truly guilty of the accusations calling for their surrender if it allowed him to delivery credits and supplies to his people? What did it matter if the job warranted for the person he was tracking to be delivered dead or alive and he chose to kill them based on the simple notion of them running and it allowed him to bring a ration of meals to his people?
What had he ever done to deserve someone such as yourself willing to let down your walls and allow him entrance? He had been at internal war, whether or not to turn you in the second you spoke Mando’a to him, healed him, saved him from that second raging Mudhorn even when you had to reason to do so. You easily could’ve let the cut on his arm fester, let the rampaging creature take out his already spent form.
But…it wouldn’t have been easy, he knows now. How you cared for those around you: from friendly vendors to women you seemed to see yourself in, to children who are simply hungry and have no choice but to steal, to ad’ika in bounds and waves, to him. The constant swivel of your head while out in crowds and among people, sousing out threats and people who may be on the lookout for you. The swiftness with which you turn into a fighter when threatened and your freedom is at stake.
The thoughts swirled around and around in Din’s mind as the ship traveled toward your home world. The last known location of your mother and potentially holding clues as to who she struck a deal with. The now dead bounty hunter not having gotten a name, only concerned with the exchange of credits for your capture. No questions, no concerns. The quarry’s capture the only thing that mattered. The man had taken the job and completed it. Had died as a result of it.
Din had been like that too, not that long ago.
Could have easily been the one being imprisoned while someone who cared about a quarry sought answers and revenge. But he was the one realizing how fragile things where, had been since taking two fobs from Karga and altering the very meaning of his life.
Something about the wide, beseeching eyes of the child had activated his heart. Opened it up and made room for the small being to fit into. The uncertainty he had sensed from the child once its eyes had looked into his own, spurring a sense of concern from the armored man over its life well beyond the need to deliver it to the client healthy and alive.
“She asked for something, for a…kiss.”
“But…your helmet.” Cara weakly argued, knowing how strongly he adhered to his Creed. Not even removing it in the face of grave injury and offered aid. Not even removing it in the threat of death.
“I know,” His words were carried on a heavy sigh. He sat heavily in the seat beside her, the hull holding a small set up for longer travels. Ad’ika crawled from her lap and over the table, situating himself in Din’s arms, claws reaching for the helmet to try and sooth the man. “She- she called me ‘jatne vod’ before she fled from the ship.”
The cracking of his voice was not lost through the modulator.
“She must’ve felt so rejected, so unwanted. And I- I just stumbled over my words so badly she ran.”
“She knows you care about her, Din.”
The sound of his name from her lips, so different from when you spoke it, whispered it, breathed it, was too much for him.
“I really messed up, Cara.” He admitted with shaky words.
“We’ll fix it, I’ll help you fix it.”
Tumblr media
K’ath was a beautiful planet. All endlessly sprawling ocean, sandy beaches, and small clustered villages.
Simple. Life here was simple. Crops being tended to, the oceans being fished in, no signs of the war other than an abandoned base on the edge of the largest cluster.
Din hadn’t ever wanted to enter the planet’s atmosphere, to step foot on the sandy land. It was a place that held painful memories for you, the crumbling of a life you had been hopeful to return to in the wake of losing everything that ever meant anything to you. A hopeful refuge after a life of hardships, but it had only provided you with more. The stripping of your freedom and the control over your own body.
It was simple enough to find your home, your mother’s home. Asking after the armorer, claiming he was in need of repairs. A Kath woman had been kind enough to try and use her broken Basic to tell them where he could find the store front, but that no one had been tended to it for some time now. That the woman who was known to run it could be approached at her personal residence. That she was kind and could be persuaded to help even though she’d long retired from working.
It was empty, signs of disuse obvious from the outside. Tall reeds of grass sprouting up at the foundation, the windows thick with grime. It was humble, despite the ways in which Din had seen you return from a shop front, a bag heavy with credits in your possession. A skill that you learned from your mother lending you a way to support yourself and indulge in all the things you had to go without for so long.
There was only one transmission on the communication radio set up in the corner that Cara had rushed to once the door had creaked open. Sand was collected in the corners, another sign that no one had occupied the residence for some time now.
“She’s on Maldovan.” Cara shuffled into the bedroom from the main one, aware that the man was focused on something she couldn’t see. He was as still as a statue, peering into the darkness of the doorway in front of him.
The visor allowing him to take in the room you had been held captive in. There was bedding on the ground, no frame for it to sit upon. A chair on the opposite side, close to the door. No windows, no other entrance or exit. A small room that was bathed in darkness lest someone bring a lantern into the room with them.
“I don’t know that planet.” Din admitted, shifting from where he was standing at the doorway of what had been the locked room hidden behind a large wardrobe to look over his shoulder at her. The shifting of it had popped a drawer open, revealing needles and syringes, vials that had been long emptied. All signs that this was truly the home you had been kept in.
“Is that-?”
“Where San was kept locked up, yeah.” He was surging forward, hands reaching for the chains secured to the walls above the bedding and he pulled. Using all the strength he had to rip them from where they were bolted, the wall cracking and splintering as he did so. The heavy chains fell to the floor with a clang, metal that sounded eerily familiar as it collapsed on itself. Kneeling down, Din reached for one of them, the cuff in his hand heavy and he sucked in a breath as he realized why such a simple contraption had been able to hold you: the chains were made of pure beskar.
Far too heavy for your drug addled body to fight against.
Programmed to shock you should you move too much, the sensors lining the inside of the cuffs telling him as much. With a shout he tore the second, lower set of chains from the wall, throwing them across the room in his rage.
The image of you shackled to the wall of this dark room, consumed with thoughts of ending your life kept him on his knees, forced his arms to support him as he crumpled to the ground completely. His modulator crackling with the heavy breaths.
Surging up, he activated bright flames to flow from his vambrace. Intent on tearing down the entire house to the last stud and beam. Cara was quick to retreat back outside, letting the man do what he felt was necessary. She stood behind him as he made his way outside, the structure entirely lit up and beginning to collapse in on itself.
Dark smoke whipped around in the breeze coming off of the nearby shoreline, doing nothing to quell the licking flames. Cara was doing her best to sooth an equally agitated child in the bad slung across her shoulders. Though she knew it would take time for them both to come back from seeing the evidence of your heavy past.
They watched as it turned from burning wood, the outer stone walls crumbling from the heat that had been trapped inside, to a pile of rubble and ash.
He knew it was against the Creed, that it was a sin to leave behind something of his people. But the beskar that had contained you glowed hot amongst the ash, left behind as he walked away from the plot of land and back to the ship.
Tumblr media
“The holonet has little information on Maldovan. Citing that it’s a desert planet with white sands, crystalline oceans that bring in a lot of visitors.” Din announced as he exited the control room, the ship constructed of only that and one other room off the hold space. One level, but enough for them to be comfortable traveling. Cara had tried to get Din to retire to the room once they returned to the ship and left K’ath behind, but he had insisted he was fine. Though the door to the cockpit had been closed and locked for hours now, well into the trip since the ship had been jumped into hyperspace.
“And their walled city.” Cara added, as she brought up a hologram of the planet to life from her cuff. She had reached out to Karga, asking him for any aid he had to provide them on the place they were traveling to.
“Yes… and if her mother knows about you then it will be hard to make a plan. Your armor isn’t exactly common and I’m sure she’s told the royal guard to keep an eye out for you.”
“Haran.” He cursed, knowing Cara’s words were true.
Shit.
It was entirely possible, and he wouldn’t put it past the woman he personally knew nothing about, going off of the words of her that you had shared with him. But surely the only city on the planet wouldn’t go out of their way to screen the many tourists that sought out the picturesque world.
Time seemed to be moving slowly and far too fast all at the same time. Thoughts continued to consume Din, all the possibilities of what could occur, what had already occurred making him feel like he was a child once again who knew nothing of the world or how it worked. The ship’s system beeping before it shifted smoothly from traveling through hyperspace and back to sublight settings.
The planet in view was covered in vast expanses of white sand and bright blue. An ocean planet as much as a desert one. It was small, a moon to a larger planet visible in the sky even within the atmosphere as the ship descended. The only city was surrounded by a large wall, protection from the two outcroppings that looked to be a racetrack and the well-established tourist destination on either side.
Maldovan was known as a resort destination, an entire smaller sector off set from the main city. The sector looked to be abundant with hotels, spas, shopping, anything and everything to keep individuals occupied and a steady supply of credits flowing into the local economy.
Cara had suggested she be the one to guide the ship through the planet’s atmosphere, handle the communication with the intake group, and land the smaller ship into the hangar. She suggested he stay behind on the ship while she registered the ship, paying the station fee for several days. And when she returned, there was a frown on her face and a worried furrow to her brow.
The woman was frustrated, that much was obvious. Din merely watched her as she closed the ramp, turning to him and explaining what information she had gathered during the short interaction.
There were two glaringly obvious problems:
Everyone wore light, flowing coverings and outfits in order to gain access into the main part of the city.
And there were wanted posters depicting Din’s armored form.

You sit there on your phone in Andrew's livingroom as he takes a shower. You and him were always close. Ever since you were in middle school. Though you were the opposite gender, your mom trusted Andrew enough for you guys to stay the night with each other. Andrew's family never really visits him since hes going to college abroad, aka your college. He wanted to go abroad as soon as he heard you had to move across the country in your last year of high school. You both were apart for a year and a half before you reunited for college, but you and him would call every day all day. In classes, asleep, studying, and even if you guys needed to shower or use the washroom. Ofcourse you always muted for stuff like that. You two were inseparable. The longest call you guys have been on lasted almost a week and a half. It would've been longer if Andrew's power didn't go out. You guys new everything about each other. Well as much as you seemed important to tell him. He arrived a week ago into his dorm, so he was still unpacking. He had two other dorm mate's. Jano and Tate. They were kind towards you so you didn't mind them. Andrew hasn't met any of your new friends but hes heard of them.
Andrew walks out of the bathroom with shorts on and a towel around his neck.
"You hungry?" Andrew asks
You look up from your phone
"Ah, I actually had to head out to meet up with a friend of mine for lunch. I owe them" you say in a calm and upbeat manner.
"I was just waiting for you to get out of the shower to say bye."
You get up from the couch and grab your backpack. Andrew looks almost disappointed to know that you're going to lunch with someone hes never met, but he shrugs it off.
"Bye dude!" You smile and wave at him and head out the door. Andrew just stands there jealousy building up in him. He quickly gets dressed and heads out of the door also. He needed to follow you. To make sure that no one would take you away from him.
He soon catches up to see you from a far. You seem to be heading to the cafe that's on campus. Andrew didn't like the fact that he didn't know any of your new friends, it but I'm in a position where he could bearly keep his eye on you.
You sit down at an outside table with the person you were meeting with, Andrew couldn't get a good look at the person with you so he decided to move from behind a bush to a closer tree. He moved just enough to see both of your faces but he wasn't able to hear the conversation. The person you were sitting with was a male. You were smiling and laughing with him. That bad Andrew's blood boil, he had to restrain himself from reacting physically. He soon gained enough strength to move himself from the situation and walk back to his dorm.
After an hour or two of talking with your friend it started to get dark, the sun was almost set and the atmosphere was a nice orange.
"Ah its getting dark, I should probably head back to Andrews dorm!" You say in a calm tone.
"Andrew huh? Have I met him before?" Your friends voice is curious.
"Ahh no. He just started to unpack from coming here a few days ago." You smile.
"You should let me meet him, he sounds pretty cool from how much you rambled about him in our last year of high school. You got a little crush y/n~?" He says in a teasing tone and a grin.
"WHAATT? PFFF NOOO!" your tone sounds genuine to your words, but your heart says something else.
"Mmmhhmmm.. well I have to get back to my dorm anyway so I'll see you in class tomorrow?" He asks.
"Yep! Bye dude." You say and get up with your stuff and start to head towards Andrew's dorm.
You open the door. "Andrew I'm backk!" You say in a positive tone. His dorm is dark and really quiet. You wonder If anyone is even there, but why would they leave the door unlocked.
"Andrew?" You call out his name but there was no reply. You take off your shoes and wander farther into the dorm.
"Maybe in his room?" You think to yourself. You make your way to his room and open the door.
"Andrew, you in here?" You say softly. You see that hes laying on his bed. Is he asleep or something?
You walk over to his bed to see but as you got close you feel him pull you onto him. "Andrew!?" You were caught off guard with us actions. He hugs you tightly. His face is nuzzled into the top of your head.
"Who was he.?" He mumbles in a deep voice.
"Who? You okay and-" you were cut off.
"The guy you were having lunch with." His grip on you tightened.
"Oh. That's just evy, hes been my friend since I moved. Don't worry!"
Andrew just grumbled in response.
"Hmmm? Are you jealous?" You say playfully. He just stays silent. You start to softly pet his head.
"Don't worry, hes dating someone at the moment. If that's what you're worried about~" you smile and hug him back.
Suddenly you get a call. You look t your phone. Its Evy. You decide to ignore the call but a moment later he calls again. You sigh and pick up.
"Hell-" you get cut off.
"SHIT. Hey y/n..! Someone trapped My dorm. Fuck.." he sound in pain.
"Wait what the hell happened?!"
"I don't really know.. I just got back from the café and went to go inside and there was a trip wire.." you can hear the pain in his voice.
"I tripped and there was a knife facing up to where I fell. I'm so lucky I missed and it only caught my left shoulder.." you can hear him scuffling around.
"Holy shit. I'll be right there dude." You say in a concerning tone and hang up the phone.
You sit up in the bed and look at Andrew.
"I have to go help a friend, sorry Andy.." you say in a panic and leap onto your feet.
After you leave, Andrew sits there.
Smiling at his success.
(Guys I had to cut it off at the end I can't write this one anymore..)

Their hearts were heavy, and yet the weight resting on their souls had nothing on the pain clinging to their aching limbs. Æthelflæd's estate was filled with tired warriors, men that were stuffing their bellies full with bread and stew, choking on the ale they drowned to warm themselves.
“Are you alright?” Finan’s accent grew thicker with every word he spoke, hand placed on her trembling thigh. (Y/n) was sitting between her lovers, tired eyes focused on the stew she couldn’t stomach. Her glassy eyes found Finan’s worried ones, taking a few moments to marvel at her lover’s dirty features, wondering how he still looked so awfully handsome, even after a fight this cruel.
“I’m worried about Osferth, that’s all.” Her eyes wandered to Sihtric’s features, the warrior that had barely shared a word with them in the past hours. Something was weighing him down, forcing him to keep his mouth shut, pondering over whatever was echoing through his mind. “Sihtric?”
“Yes?” He didn’t look at her, eyes not wandering from his ale, watching his fingers move along the wooden cup. (Y/n)’s trembling hand tried to reach for his face, though forced to pull back as Uhtred sat down near Sihtric. She could barely spare the words their lord spoke her attention, though picking up that he’d leave for his brother's grave. Finan had pulled her closer, back pressed against his warm front.
Only as Finan murmured a sharp “He does not” did (y/n) snap out of her trance, realising that something was off, a fight that would soon put the love the warrior shared with her and Finan to the test. Sihtric’s spiteful words about death and those that have died along the way left her tensing, hand trying to grasp Sihtric’s, only for her lover to shake her off.
Hurt flashed through her eyes as she watched Uhtred rise to his feet, turning his back on the three of them. Finan’s hand grasped her waist, keeping her close, very well knowing that she was confused, hurt, and angered by the way her other lover was acting.
“No man who serves Uhtred can rest, not until Skade is reclaimed.” Her eyes snapped towards Uhtred’s now angry features, watching how Finan tried to stop Sihtric from talking. Everything moved all too quickly, suddenly they were all standing, growling angry words and provocative phrases, while (y/n) tried to keep them calm. Finan’s uneasy eyes couldn’t help but watch his lover fall apart, struggling to keep her tears bottled in as Sihtric once again pushed her away, all too carelessly.
“Then I will kill you.” Her air was stuck in her throat, body forcing itself past Uhtred to storm outside, heavily heaving as her body released the few bites she had forced into her system. With Finan hot on her heels, hand stroking her back, she allowed the man to guide her, teary eyes searching his, begging him to speak words that could calm her racing heart.
“We can’t let him leave, Finan, we can’t.” Finan pulled her against his chest, cradling her as if he was scared that she’d break any moment now. He didn’t speak, eyes fluttering close as every cry of hers ripped his heart to shreds.
……
Hours later (y/n) found herself pressed against Finan's naked chest, searching the distraction only he could offer. Her body was tired from the tears she had cried, the hurt swimming through her system.
"Look at me." Finan cupped her cheek, thumb stroking her trembling lower lip before he kissed her, gasping in surprise as (y/n) pulled him closer, forcing him to tower over her. "Are you sure?"
She could only nod her head, eyes squeezed shut as she felt his hand cup her heat, pushing two fingers into her tightness to prepare her for his cock. Finan's lips kissed their way down her throat, sparing her pulse point enough attention as he fucked her with his fingers, thumb rubbing her clit with just enough amount of pressure to push her out of her sadness, distracted for the upcoming hour at least.
(Y/n)'s needy gasps forced Finan to pull his hand from her cunt, bringing his arousal covered fingers to his mouth, cleaning his skin before he forced her thighs apart, positioning himself at her entrance.
"No matter what will happen, I will always be here for you, to love you. Love you just like Sihtric loves you." A cry ripped through her, hand searching his to interlace their fingers, needing to hold onto him as he pushed into her. For a few moments Finan kept still, allowing his lover to adjust, giving him enough time to wipe her tears away and to kiss her warm cheeks.
Even though (y/n) knew deep down that she'd cross paths with Sihtric again, she couldn't help but find strength in the way Finan loved her, how he cherished her, holding her close to remind her of the endless adoration he felt for her.
Finan fucked her slow at first, deep strokes that left her toes curling and her heart skipping beats, but with the first cry of his name, he began to pick up his pace, thrusts growing more ferocious. And as he loved her, in the dark room, she couldn't help but feel safe, and protected from her daunting thoughts.
…
The forest was cold, the snow-covered ground guided them further towards the Danes camp, eyes trying to focus on any movement, indicating that somebody was close. The wind stroked along their limbs, leaving them trembling and shaking, hoping that they’d eventually get the chance to warm their frozen fingers.
Ever since Sihtric had left them,(y/n) had barely spoken a word to the others, caught in her anger, in the betrayal she felt, and the fear of never crossing paths with Sihtric again. Maybe it was foolish of her, she should be used to ever changing conditions, and yet she couldn’t. Finan had tried to distract her, holding her a tad bit closer at night, murmuring sweet nothings to remind her of the love he felt for her, and yet he didn’t manage to mend her broken heart.
“Somebody’s coming.” They froze, watching a frame appear, moving closer and closer till they could make out Sihtric’s features, forcing a gasp out of (y/n). Finan had his hand clasped down on her wrist, keeping her from moving towards the man. Only as Uhtred and Sihtric shared a hug, followed by the sound of their laughter, did (y/n) snap out of her thoughts. Finan pushed past her, murmuring something about knowing of Sihtric and Uhtred’s game, but (y/n) didn’t move.
“Love,” Sihtric murmured the word, taking careful steps to move closer, only for (y/n) to shake her head, chasing the now growing distance between them before Sihtric could touch her. Her anger kept thumping through her veins, though not because she was still hurt by his betrayal, but by the way he had pushed her, by the way he had shaken her off all too easily.
“Give her some time.” Finan’s murmurs were drowned out by the heavy breaths leaving Sihtric, pained eyes watching her frame.
……
“Can we come in?” Finan’s voice broke the silence, eyes finding (y/n)’s. Her gaze flickered between Finan and Sihtric, slowly nodding her head to allow both of her lovers to enter. The silence returned within a few moments, engulfing them as Sihtric and Finan sat down on either side of her. With every passing second the silence grew more uncomfortable, a thick fog neither of them could break through.
“I am sorry, we needed your sincere reaction to make them believe our fight.” Sihtric’s whispers forced her to scoff, eyes fluttering shut to sort through her racing thoughts. Her body was longing for him, wanting to feel his hands on her body, and yet her mind forced (y/n) to hold her grudges.
“It’s not about that, I understand why you did it. But fuck, don’t you ever push me around like that again, don’t ever make me feel like you don’t want to be touched by me again.” Sihtric’s hand found her chin, tilting her head towards him, eyes burning through hers. He dipped his head down, lips finding hers, kissing her breathless while Finan could no longer bite down his smirk.
“I think it’s time for Sihtric to make up for our lost time together, don't you think?” Finan’s murmurs were met with a hum rumbling through (y/n), sighing as Sihtric let go of her, rising back to his feet. All (y/n) could do was watch both men undo their coats, followed by their leather armour, exposing their prominent, flexing muscles.
“Look at our pretty girl, we haven’t even touched you yet, petal.” The heavy Irish accent left (y/n)’s heart racing, thighs pressed together to soothe the ever growing ache. She was dripping for their touch, ready to be toyed with, allowing her lovers to use her body as if the gods themselves were walking amongst them. Sihtric touched her first, helping her out of her clothes, slowly exposing the body he hadn’t been able to touch for a while, and yet he had dreamt of her every single night.
“Lay down.” The command was followed without any questions, naked body pressed against the bed, eyes finding the glistening ones of Finan. The warrior settled next to her, groaning as her hand found his hardening cock, pumping him for a few moments before she felt Sihtric’s warm tongue brush through her folds, making her halt her movements. A string of curses left the three of them, mixed together to form one sinful sound.
“Jesus, I’ll never get used to this.” (Y/n) had started moving her hand once again, pushing Finan closer to the edge as Sihtric got lost in her taste, cherishing her as if he hadn’t seen his lover in years. Both were a tangled mess of limbs, hearts, and souls, forever one to walk the same path, to share their ever growing love.
“Want to feel both of you, please.” Sihtric’s eyes met Finan’s, forcing a smirk to tug on both their lips, letting go of (y/n) to wordlessly reposition themselves. It wasn’t the first time she asked to be fucked by both men at the same time, and yet (y/n)’s heart picked up its pace, as if she was fighting a battle, very well knowing that she stood no chance against her opponents.
With Finan sitting down on the bed to pull (y/n) into his lap, Sihtric positioned himself behind her, sharing a few mischievous glances with Finan. Her trembling hands were placed on Finan’s shoulders as she sank down on his cock, forehead pressed against his chest, needing a few moments to adjust. Sihtric made use of her moments of distraction, slowly pushing into her like they had done numerous times before.
(Y/n)’s moan was drowned out by Finan’s lips meeting hers, swallowing her sounds as her cunt tried to adjust to both of their cocks, their alternating thrusts that left her shaking. Heat flushed through their veins, a heat so biting it felt as if the Devil himself was guiding their every movement, forcing them to confess to their every sin.
Finan’s cold fingers found her bundle of nerves, circling her clit to push her further towards the edge, feeling her clench around both their cocks. She’d cum any moment now, gone for her two lovers like a ship sinking to the bottom of the rough ocean, one with the waves that have drowned her body and soul.
“Fuck, so tight, even after all those months, made just for us.” Sihtric’s praises gave her the final push, trembling between both her lovers as her orgasm clashed through her. (Y/n)’s fingernails drew blood from Finan’s skin, leaving marks he’d wear proud like a soldier showing off his battle marks. It didn’t take long for the two men to follow, pulling out of her moments before they came.
All three were heavily panting, bodies falling next to one another, getting lost in the silence that had now returned. Sihtric rose to his feet to reach for a piece of cloth, cleaning himself before he helped out his other two lovers, searching their closeness.
“I promise, I’ll never hurt you like that again.” Sihtric pressed a kiss to her cheek, admiring her tired features, still strung out, and overstimulated. Her chuckles vibrated through her body, fingers interlaced with both of theirs.
“If you do, I promise to hunt you down myself.”
