In absolute despair over the general Yomi opinions on everywhere I go. No, despite popular opinion he's not just mean for the sake of being mean. He genuinely believes that he's doing the best he can at keeping Kanai Ward stable/under control, and that he is the only person that is able to do it properly, whether that is actually true is debatable. Torture and corporal punishment is actually an effective tactic in lowering the ever so rampant crime in Kanai Ward to him, he's not sending people to their deaths every day just because it turns him on or something, but because that's his solution to all that. Is that a good solution, and/or does that make him a good guy by any means? No. But he doesn't do all that shit for no reason. Would he probably just end up making Kanai Ward even worse if he stayed any longer in power, whether he intended to or not? Yeah. Would he start blowing it up and shooting random people for shits and giggles? Um. No.

Basically what I'm getting at is. He would not fucking say that be cruel to random people on the street for the pettiest and most unpredictable of reasons, there is. A pattern here. I. I had to really get this off my chest the fandom is doing unspeakable things to Yomi everyday and I'm just cursed to watch but unable to stop it

Is anybody gonna talk about how his incredibly weird but strong sense of justice is such a major part of his character and how he presents himself. His moral code makes him do things which are... deeply frowned upon by progressive individuals to say the least, but he does have a strict sense of right and wrong and does act accordingly to them so maybe if we all. I forgot what I was about to say like the whole thing. It was actually very sound. Oh goddamn it. Anyway as I was saying he constantly talks about justice and how it should look in nearly every scene he's in, he literally says that he can feel justice, like, he unlocked the fucking justice emotion. It also would not make sense for him to lie about such a specific thing for such a long time either so don't hit me with the "um actually he doesn't mean anything he ever says. and instead of morals in his brain he's got literal satan from the binble whispering nefarious things to him 24/7"

Oh and also I am a proud believer that the fandom's whole "the appropriate punishment for Yomi's crimes would be to put him through exactly what the peacekeepers put people in except it's okay now because he deserves it :)" thing is some of the biggest bullshit I ever heard and I spoken about this at length already before. Sorry but prison would not fix him. And this might get a little bit too """"Woke Soyjak""""-esque for some of you, but I legitimately believe that punishment at all fixes literally fucking nothing other than make people feel good/cathartic about making the bad guy suffer. Maybe we should have better reform programs other than locking people in cells for 20 years and treating them like shit, like what the hell is that gonna do, it doesn't even work at stopping anybody in the future I just I will stop myself for now. Anyway as I believe I was saying beforehand just sending Yomi to prison and doing literally nothing else will fix jack shit maybe yall should get more creative with proposing ways to stop Yomi from contributing to ruining Kanai Ward even further other than just punishing him in increasingly unethical ways like this seriously can't be the only solution that can come to your mind can it jesus christ maybe if we all held hands and worked together we could . Empress Luz AU: Obsessed with Luz finding out more about Eda and Raine's relationship. Especially that she's hearing it from Raine's perspective. A big aspect of what became the tipping point for them back then was being completely shut out by Eda who refused to accept any help while Eda was trying to suffer through her curse alone because she doesn't want to end up hurting anyone else.

Just. Raine maybe using the story as an opportunity to try to nudge Luz in the direction that confiding in people she can trust and reaching out for help is good and okay and that they're always available if she ever needs them, even if just to talk. (Just really hoping that maybe she might open up about the things Raine & Darius already found out via the mindscape)

Meanwhile, Luz just sorta zeroed in on all of the negatives of the story and how things are mirroring just a bit too closely and Eda and Raine haven't spoken in decades and the internal screaming has reached up to whistling teakettle and she's completely missing Raine trying to be supportive.

HEAD IN HANDS. THIS IS SO SWEET AND TRAGICALLY HILARIOUS AND HILARIOUSLY TRAGIC OHHH GOD.

luz being like "oh no, raine can tell that i'm keeping secrets and they're trying to nicely tell me to fuck off and even if they HAVEN'T clocked me, i should never have gotten so comfortable and i should be better at handling my stuff alone because i am emotionally unavailable and Bad :(((" is SO DEEPLY IN CHARACTER IT'S KILLING MEEE. she did almost EXACTLY the same thing to hunter, back before they worked their shit out. i am fucking yelling. GOD. LUZ MY SWEET ANGLE

it's especially interesting if luz is working semi-regularly with a still-kinda-resistant eda. and eda is definitely keeping her cards close to her chest because like HELL is she going to be emotionally vulnerable to The Fucking Empire. and so luz sees even more of herself in eda through these interactions than through raine's stories. all of eda's wariness and hesitance to trust and the way her guard only comes down during moments when luz is being disarmingly kind or excited....

i feel like in this scenario, luz WOULD eventually break down in front of raine and tell them.... well, a lot. whether she admitted to patricide would depend on the circumstances, but Certainly she'd fess up about the amount of stress she's under. luz has been playing politics really well and subtly unraveling the empire, but she's also aware that there are Enormous risks if she chooses the wrong allies or makes the wrong decisions. and the only person who Fully knows what happened or what she wants or who she is... is hunter. and hunter will bounce ideas off her and tell her if he thinks she's making a mistake, but he's also 100% loyal to whatever she decides to do. which is scary for her!

and she's sixteen. seventeen if this is a few months into her reign. seventeen is old enough to run a country if you're a YA protagonist, but Oh God the concept is Fucking Terrifying in any other genre. she's under SO MUCH PRESSUREEEE

luz knocking on the door of raine's room and barely managing to get inside before she's bursting into tears like "i asked the titan to help me and i promised i'd fix the world if he did and i don't know if i can even keep that promise i'm ruining it i killed my father and i promised not to be like him and i can't HELP being like him and i don't know what to do i don't WANT to be like him i don't want to be like this i don't want to ruin everything"

and a startled raine not even being able to calculate a response beyond just. "i know."

your designs are very cute! i am half Vietnamese, and this style of dress reminds me of the áo dài (pronounced ow-yiay). it is a very beautiful, formal dress. usually worn in weddings and other formal occasions, but it has gained more popularity in USA culture as well (cannot say i blame them. it is a gorgeous dress).

usually, you are supposed to wear pants when you wear this dress (it doesn't look good to see skin, as the dress's slits go up to the hips) but for iterators, not sure how much of a taboo it is for them to show skin (metal? chassis?). maybe something for people to consider taking inspiration from your designs?

also, personally i dont think it'd be taboo for iterators to show 'skin' honestly! moon doesn't seem to have any issue with being uncloaked in her collapsed state, and neither her nor pebbles have any issue with hanging upside down and letting their cloaks pool around their shoulders just to stare at me as i eat all of their data pearls <3!

but i'd actually really love to see people draw the iterators in different outfits inspired by their own culture now 👀 maybe i'll give moon a pair of porcupine quill earrings, i think she deserves them <3

YES I DO HAVE SONG AND ALBUM RECS okay so i don't know what kind of music you personally prefer, they have kind of a selection. pete ham said that was probably one of their problems, that they were too varied too soon. i love having a variety myself but i guess some people don't like that? also their live stuff sounds a little more rock and with more guitar and things than their albums, so there's that too.
