Transgender Household in need of help

Heya! I'm Kacper, a fully-out transgender man living in the UK. As you may know, the UK isn't very friendly towards people like us. I live together with a West-Asian trans woman and an agender person. We are all mentally ill and 2/3rds of us are employed as of now (last one has interviews booked all over next week), but our current living situation isn't the best. Our rent is extremely high, and we have to move by the end of July.

So, basically... We need help with gathering money for our house deposit so we can move out. Unfortunately with our salaries and our high rent this is impossible at the moment, so we have to turn to you guys for help again. No matter what, our next housing will come to cheaper than what we pay right now, and will make it so living will be better for all of us.

If we do not get this, we will have to move back to our parents houses. In some cases, this would be extremely dangerous, maybe even deadly.

Last July, I had my first colonoscopy at the age of 26. I was suffering from dysregularity, frequent diarrhea, and cramping. At the time, the diagnosis was post-infection irritable bowel syndrome caused by some form of infectious colitis.

Unfortunately, over the course of the following year, my symptoms gradually intensified and eventually became largely unresponsive to lifestyle-change-based treatment. It's gotten to the point that, for the past two months, I've been having to rely on max dose immodium to maintaining a semblance of normality in the bathroom.

Thinking that perhaps he had misdiagnosed ulcerative colitis, my gastroenterologist prescribed a course of budesonide. Sadly, it was completely ineffectual. As such, I was scheduled for yet another colonoscopy.

A few days ago, on June 20th, less than a year after my first one, I had the second colonoscopy of my life. Many more biopsies were taken this time. I haven't yet gotten the results. Frankly, I'm terrified of what they might find.

To add insult to injury, my insurance has a massive deductible, so I'm on the hook financially for pretty much the entire procedure.

I don't yet know what the total cost will be. Last time, it was about five thousand dollars. With all the extra biopsies this time, it might be a bit more, but I won't know what the pathology bill is for a while.

I've been running a fundraising campaign on other sites since June 11th and have managed to raise a decent amount of money.

Unfortunately, donations seem to have stalled at $2,987.18, a little over $2,000 short of our $5,000 goal.

Long story long:

I'm an artist, a queer activist, a writer and a LARPer. I'm employed full-time plus doing some side gigs plus trying to sell my artworks, but salaries in Ukraine just aren't that great. I'm making monthly about $1200 and half of that goes for the rent. Some medical bills for my partner and my doggo already left me with about -1750 USD on my credit card. Tobias feels his blood run cold. Ordinarily they'd ignore it. It's not an entirely uncommon name, and it doesn't belong to them anymore. But that voice. Even if it's been a few years since the last time that the elf heard it, makes his heart thump painfully against his ribs. Vishante kafas, they should have known. It was only a matter of time, simple probability that eventually one of their trips back home might carry this result. Minrathous is a big city, but not so large as to avoid them forever.

"Dearest," Emmrich says softly, voice laced with gentle concern, prompting Tobias to notice just how tightly they've begun to grip their partner's hand as the necromancer gracefully spins on his heels to stand in front of them, warm brown eyes searching theirs.

"Sorry," the elf mumbles softly, immediately making to loosen their grip, but Emmrich's ringed hand clasps theirs back tightly, refusing to let them pull away.

"What's wrong, darling?"

That name again in that voice rings out across the busy square causing the elf to flinch almost imperceptibly. But, of course, Emmrich, ever one with an eye for detail, and so achingly attentive, notices, a slight frown forming behind his thin mustache as he glances over his lover's shoulder to the woman approaching them.

Tobias sucks in a long, slow, steadying breath, allowing their head to drop, forehead resting for one brief moment against their lover's chest, before they straighten up, turning around to face the woman that stops in front of them.

"Mother," Tobias greets reluctantly.

"I knew it was you," Claudia Mercar crows.

"Actually," Emmrich interjects before Tobias manages to regain the use of their tongue, "I rather think you have the wrong person."

"I think I would know my own daughter," Claudia replies icily, clearly none too pleased with this stranger, cold, narrow green eyes scanning him, appraising, and based on the sour expression on her face, clearly not impressed. A sharp ache in the elf's chest reminds them they've been holding their breath a little too long, toes curling in their boots with the anxious urge to flee.

"If you think they are a woman, then it would appear you don't," Emmrich replies. His voice is the same calm and steady cadence that the elf has always found soothing, perhaps because he knows just how nervous and uncomfortable his lover is, but there's strength behind it, a fierceness behind those brown eyes as Tobias sneaks a sideways glance up at him. Emmrich's gaze remains fixed on Claudia's, but the hand that still clasps theirs gives them a gentle squeeze. "I'm sorry, my love. When you said not everyone was accepting about it- it didn't occur to me that your family might be among them." Claudia huffs.

"I would have thought you were old enough to recognize nonsense when you hear it."

"You're right," Emmrich nods, brows furrowing as his frown etches itself deeper into his face. "I do. Shall we go, darling," the necromancer asks softly, shifting his focus and wrapping a protective and reassuring arm around his lover.

"Disgraceful," Claudia snarls. "We took you into our house. Gave you our name-"

"Erased my heritage. Tried to shrink me, change me," Tobias spits, anger finally breaking the seal, helping them finally find all the words they've never had the chance to say. "Ignored me. All but threw me out when I couldn't be what you wanted. I was never your child. I was your vanity project. If you think I'm such a stain on your name, take it back. Your surname fits me as poorly as the other one you gave me." Claudia doesn't appear to know what to say to this, nor what to do about the small crowd that is busy pretending not to watch the exchange between them.

"You don't need their name," Emmrich whispers softly into Tobias's soft brown hair, hugging his lover as Tobias turns their back on her and into the necromancer's arms, pressing into his chest, breathing him in and doing their best not to shake from the stress of it all. "You don't need anyone's but the one you gave yourself. But... you could take mine, if you would have it."

It's too much to process right now, the full weight of those words. And knowing Emmrich, the older man will doubtless ask again in private under much quieter circumstances, probably with some manner of help from his skeletal protege. All Tobias knows now is a desire to flee, to be far away- from their mother, from all these curious eyes, and with the man who has never failed to make them seen and safe. "C-Can we go visit your parents," Tobias asks softly, voice barely a whisper as they cling, perhaps a little too tightly, wrinkling Emmrich's waistcoat as he holds them in his arms. Strange as the idea might once have been, the gardens of the Necropolis have become almost as much as sanctuary to Tobias as they have long been for Emmrich. A quiet place of peace, of calm amidst the storm, much like their lover himself.

"Of course," Emmrich replies fondly, pressing a kiss to the top of his lover's head as he deftly steers them through the crowd back towards the Eluvian that can take them to the Crossroads and on to the Necropolis. "They would have loved you, you know," Emmrich soothes gently. "Just as much as I do."

hi. my shit roommate gave less than 3 weeks notice abt moving out and is refusing to pay bills.

(9/29/2023) i found out 12 hrs ago that my idiot roommate is straight up just not paying their share for october. they gave 0 notice that they were moving until less than 3 weeks ago and made absolutely no implication that they didn't intend to pay bills until yesterday evening when i came to collect from them.

Help us afford a new freezer (and food)!

Yesterday (April 2nd) we realised our freezer had stopped working and all the food in it had thawed, which is a big problem for us.

I live with my mum, we're both disabled, she has terminal cancer, and I am her carer. Having a working freezer is important because we often don't have the time or energy to get or cook fresh food, and with unplanned hospital stays it's always a concern that non-frozen food will go off before we can get home and eat it.

Fortunately, we're both on benefits so I'm not asking for the entire cost of a freezer, but buying one ourselves is going to put a big dent in our budget for the month, not to mention restocking it with food. Any amount of money will help, no matter how small 💚
