the thing about venti is that he doesn't embody freedom so much as he nurtures it. venti is who he is today because the people taught him to love and he returned that tenfold. the people were the first to teach him autonomy and freedom, and his response is to protect that ideal

I just really love mondstadt's relationship with their "absentee" archon a lot. there's something almost poetic about how just by being themselves, they sort of "created" their own god. a wind wisp became their archon by observing and living with them (ofc I'm oversimplifying it)

as described in freedom sworn, it's the anemo archon who actually takes on his region's characteristics, not the other way around. it is not that mondstadt is the nation of freedom because of venti, but that venti is the god of freedom because of mondstadt. and now you have that same archon asking what I will argue is actually the best quote of genshin, "what is freedom when demanded of you by a god?"

A crack thought (I love the Archons)

Furina and the other Archons visited Liyue to have some dinner ( a small get together), Zhongli accommodates them and offer some Liyue specialty cuisines. One of the region specialty is a dish that's compose of boiled egg, vegetables, mayo and artistically place it on top of an eggshell.

"This dish is delicious" Furina munch the egg dish happily "the crust is soft like a macaron" cheeks puff like a hamster

"that is an eggshell, right?" Venti stated as he peeled the egg shell "its not edible"

"what do you mean, it's not edible" Furina with round eyes and cheeks turn red

"you eat the shells?" Venti laughs

Neuvillette sits closer to Furina and grab a paper towel, gently pries her mouth to spit the food and throws it to the nearest bin. Nahida and Ei covers their mouth, trying not to giggle.

the rest of the night is a successful one, as they continue their dinner and talks about everything or anything, Venti keeps teasing Furina about the shells and he cannot help but sweat seeing that a certain Judge is looking at him menacingly.

Alhaitham loves by existing surrounded by people he cares for, even if they're only memories.

He kept his parents' research and books. He kept his grandmother's wish close to his heart written in an emerald book, and he build his whole life around it. He searched for mirrors, because Kaveh showed him how important it is for his betterment.

"Decoding the Runes and Architectural Philosophy of the Ruins of King Deshret's Civilization" is the epitome of love Alhaitham cherishes in the quietest manner possible. It's the four pillars of his adoration, the foundation of his existence as himself.

His mother was a renowned scholar in Vahumana. His father a mentor in Haravatat. His grandmother was from Kshahrewar. Isn't it telling that the one and only time he was willing to do a joined-research project with anyone was when these three Darshans were involved? History for his mother. Linguistics for his father. Mechanisms and architecture for his grandmother and Kaveh. And he wanted to do it with his mirror, his best friend, his equal; the only part of his foundation that still existed by his side, alive.

He didn't have the chance to get to know his parents, to form his own opinions by engaging with them; he learned about them from his grandmother who could spot the similarities he carried in his own being. He lost them too soon, and yet he kept any memory he could, and what is more memorable and insightful in what type of people his parents were, than their research, their minds?

And he didn't really have that much time with his grandmother either. She was older, and he had to watch her become frail with age, prepare her funeral, and learn to survive independently of anyone else. But he keeps her book, her lessons, and her wish, on top of his priority list: "May my child Alhaitham lead a peaceful life."

He experienced so much loss as a child, and when he finally had someone he deemed equal to himself, he shot himself and that mirror, in the foot, and lost Kaveh not to external circumstances like life and death, but because of his own young short-sightedness and stubbornness. It might have only been a bad end of a friendship where both people still lived on, but maybe it hurt like death all the same.

And now after the archon quest, his story quest, Kaveh's hangout, Parade of Providence...he is peaceful. He is softer, and warmer. He regained a piece of the foundation that could have crumbled to dust, no matter how much he could try to keep it together with bare hands. But Kaveh stayed, and helped patching it up, making it stronger. Alhaitham can build upon the foundation again, something worthy of his time and care. Maybe it could be a home his grandmother would have been delighted him having.
