You and Sebastian have been stuck in the tiny apartment that the two of you shared for what felt like forever. When the pandemic hit, he was still filming for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so he had to finish it up. Somedays you would get the occasional FaceTime call at lunch and be "graced with the presence of Choclachino" as Mackie titled it. It wasn't how it normally was but it was fun while it lasted. 

Once they finished filming, he was stuck at home with you. Sure, the world was put to a pause but that didn't stop the two of you from having some fun of your own. "Y/N, I swear to god if you don't get your ass back here right now!"

Life with Sebastian never had a dull moment and being stuck with him during a pandemic just amplified your already chaotic energy. You two had tons of movie and game nights. But some days you would just lay in each other's arms and cuddle. Pranks became a common theme in the household and unfortunately for him, your pranks never failed. Today, you threw confetti all over him as he was about to get out of the shower.

His eyes grew wide as he stopped in shock and quickly met yours. "You're so going to pay for that," he muttered with a chuckle before he lunged towards you.

"Oh shit, OH SHIT!" you screeched as you avoided him. Quickly, you ran back out to the kitchen and devised a game plan. There was no way in hell you were letting him get his revenge. Eventually, he was going to catch you, and then you'd both be covered in confetti. So you snatched your phone, wallet, mask, and keys and ran out the door. You’ve been meaning to go grocery shopping anyways.

The groceries you needed were acquired, and it was finally time that you made your way back home. Hopefully after leaving him home by himself for a couple of hours let him cool off. You quietly used your key and opened the door. He was just sitting down on the couch, which Mackie was 100% correct about even if Seb denied it. It didn't look like he noticed you were back home. To make sure, you removed your shoes to make no noise. Tiptoeing to the couch, you looked over his shoulder to see what he was looking at. He was on his phone. He was looking at TikToks. "No fucking way," you thought.

Very quickly, you snuck your hand up and around his head and snatched the phone out of his hands. "What the fu-"

"Ah ah ah," you tutted, wagging your finger in his face with his phone in your other hand. "Is the Sebastian Stan looking at TikToks? Let's see what you've been looking at."

You scrolled a bit and noticed a common theme. They were all mostly memes of him and Mackie. You pulled one up and let it play. "I'll see you next time! Bye Sebastian! HuNgRy EyEs! OnE LoOk aT yOu aNd I cAn'T DiSgUiSe-"

He reached out over the couch to try and swipe his phone back. You quickly pulled it back out of his reach. "Y/N... Give me my phone back. Please..."

"Or what?"

Suddenly, he was jumping over the couch and you turned and started to run away again. Lucky for him, your apartment was incredibly small, and you had little place to run. His arms wrapped around your waist, and he pulled you back into him. "Gotcha," he whispered, "I'd like my phone back now, please."

Even though you had no more options, you didn't give in. You continued to hold the phone close to your chest, a smirk settling on your face. "So that's how you wanna play it? Okay..."

He let you go. You thought you were free. You thought wrong. He quickly turned you around, picked you up, and threw you over his shoulder. "Seb, put me down!" you pleaded, laughing as he walked back to the living area.

Before you knew it, he threw you back onto the couch and started to tickle you. He knew you were extremely ticklish and unfortunately, he played to your weakness. "This is for earlier," he giggled while continuing to tickle your sides.

Soon enough, the tickling got to you and your grip on his phone loosened. He swiftly grabbed it back and stood back up. "Fine, fine you win," you let out, trying to catch your breath, "Why were you even looking at TikToks anyways?"

"First of all, Mackie sent these to me. Second of all, I'm teaching him how to use Instagram, but all the kids these days use TikTok so I'm uh..."

"Go on," you encouraged.

He sighed. "I'm trying to get with the program if you will."

Your boyfriend. Sebastian Stan. Gen Z's current internet crush was trying to get with the program. You tried to hold in your laughter and he could tell by the look on your face. "You better not laugh at me or I will tickle you even more."

You threw your hands up in surrender. "Hey! I'm glad you're trying, babe." You turned to head back to the kitchen to put the groceries you just bought away. As you walked away, you said back, "About time, old man!"

"What did you just say?"

"Nothing!"

"No, I think you just called me an old man!"

(this is also where I've seen a couple hate comments come up, so yeah, I'm trying to be mature enough to not commit violence for her upon them) She does admit this video isn't her best work, but she does A LOT of very very cool drawings! 3. Paper Dragons!!

(the first image is her first dragon, second is her most recent i think) I don't get how these things are "paper furries", but I do know THEY ARE SICK AS FUCK. I got to see one in person and they're very cool, all with different stories! I honestly wanna ask for one but right now, I'm gonna stick with watching them.

While the Undertale stuff comes once every blue moon it seems, that doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

A while ago I made a PowerPoint presentation for fun about the history of the TMNT and the franchise. From that point it led to me gaining a spot in a YouTube video series discussing the movies leading up to the premier of Mutant Mayhem, and it’s been one of the best things to happen to me despite the terrible stuff I’ve gone through.

TMNT really saved me at the lowest point of my life in the winter of 2022. It inspired me to go back to Tumblr. I met and befriended incredibly talented people in this fandom. And I’ve found a reason to be happy again because of it. The pain of losing my big sister still aches, and I miss her more each passing day, but I know she’d tell me to get off my ass and do what made me happy.

So for my birthday this weekend, I’ll share this with you guys to celebrate something that brought me joy through all this pain. ❤️‍🩹

The episodes have to catch my interest and the plot needs to be gripping! The angstier the better!

Any of the series episodes are candidates for a win! Except for certain ones that I’d rather not watch 🤣

SPOILERS BEWARE! Cuz… well, I dunno who’s finished the shows and I don’t wanna ruin the surprise for others!

Onto the list proper! Starting with the series that started it all: 1987!

The Maltese Hamster ( Season 3 Ep. 4 ) An excellent Donatello solo episode that takes the tone of a detective noir movie, but keeping the fun vibe of the show! Donnie gets to take center stage for once, April gets to use a laser gun, and the shift in tone sets the mood really well! It’s downright harrowing to watch a building collapse on Donnie and see him limping away from the scene in agony, passing out at Irma’s feet, trying to save his brothers despite the odds. Donnie’s my favorite turtle for a reason!

Raphael Meets His Match ( Season 4 Ep. 17 ) The first appearance of Mona Lisa, and I can see why the fans adore this ship so much! The chemistry between Mona and Raph throughout this one episode is really telling of how impactful one character can be to a franchise! Mona is really fun! She’s not just a token ‘girl character’ trope or an archetype, she can handle herself and kick ass alongside the turtles, plus she and Raph have some pretty witty banter together!

Beware The Lotus ( Season 3 Ep. 28 ) The introduction of Lotus Blossom! It’s speculated that the inspiration for Karai came from Lotus! Lotus and Leo had great chemistry together, it's a shame we only got two episodes to spend with her. She really is an interesting character with loads of story potential about finding your place in the world, discovering who you are, changing your destiny to make it what you want. This is me basically saying I am now part of the Lotus Blossom Fan Club.

Cowabunga, Shredhead! ( Season 3 Ep. 18 ) This is one of the fan favorite episodes, and after I watched it for the first time I could not stop laughing. James Avery does his best Mikey impression while playing the over the top Shredder, and everyone just accepts it??? It’s downright genius! The meme material from this one is plentiful!

Michelangelo Meets Mondo Gecko ( Season 5 Ep. 4 ) The introduction of Mondo himself, and he’s got a really cool design! On first viewing I was pleasantly surprised by his unique color scheme and his character! He’s a bad guy that gets a redemption arc by the end of the episode! I was rooting for him the whole time! It was this debut that made me adore Mondo, and he’s since become my favorite mutant character of the franchise!

Honorable Mentions are Donatello’s Duplicate and Turtlemaniac!

Next up is a controversial one, but I gotta be honest… ‘03 isn’t my favorite series for a lot of reasons, but I will admit! When this series had fantastic episodes, they were AMAZING. So I gotta give credit when due and give kudos to these wins!

The Shredder Strikes Back Parts One and Two ( Season 1 Episodes 17-18 ) Nothing really tops how good this show was in the first season, and these episodes take the comic storyline of Leo’s beatdown and bring it to life masterfully. For Leo’s segments of part one it’s spent mostly with no dialogue— the animation and music carrying how serious the scene is as Leo has to fight for his life against the Foot and how desperate he becomes as he grows weaker and weaker. The second episode is non-stop action as the rest of the turtles, Splinter, April and Casey have to fend off the Foot and Shredder as they fight for their lives in the antique shop. This is one of Michael Sinterniklass’s BEST performances as Leo in these episodes. The stakes are higher than ever before, the animation is gorgeous, and everyone gives it their all for this epic mid-season finale.

Same As It Never Was ( Season 3 Ep. 21 ) This is the episode I would tell people to watch if they think TMNT is just kiddie trash.

Bad Blood ( Season 6 Ep. 12 ) Probably the Fast Forward concept I wish got expanded on instead of giving it two standalone stories and dropping it entirely. It’s a cool idea that I wish got touched upon more often because, yeah, what would evil clones of the turtles look like? What kind of abilities could they have? There’s infinite possibilities! I could live without the new catchphrase ‘It's Ninja Time’ though. While Fast Forward is flawed, this episode was the one I thoroughly liked!

Insane in the Membrane ( Season 4 Ep. 19 ) The infamously banned episode, and all I have to say about it is two words. Holy. Shit.

The Real World Part One ( Season 3 Ep. 22 ) Any team-up with Usagi Yojimbo is a good one, and this was such a delight! It’s loosely based on one of the Usagi stories from the comics, and I loved how badass they made both Usagi and Tomoe! Leo and Usagi have great chemistry as always, and you can tell they have a strong bond with one another as warriors! Or boyfriends depending on how you interpret their relationship but honestly I totally see where everyone is coming from, THESE TWO ARE ADORABLE DORKS.

Next up is my all-time favorite incarnation of the franchise, 2012!! I have A LOT to say about so many of the episodes but alas, I could only choose five to discuss. One day… one day I shall make a thesis about it 🤣 for now however, here’s my top five faves from this series!

The Yojimbo Trilogy ( Season 5 Episodes 7-9 ) Oh. My. God. YES. The love letter to Stan Sakai’s comics, the beautiful homage to vintage Japanese cinema with the camera framework and action, and OH MY LORD, THE COLORS AND SHADING DURING USAGI’S FIGHT WITH JAY IN THE FINALE???? THAT’S CINEMA! Excellent voice acting by Yuki Matsuzaki, which was his first English speaking role and personally chosen by Sakai himself to play the ronin rabbit! My only complaint is that I wish we’d gotten more of the Yojimbo characters in here, like Tomoe or Gen! Otherwise I can watch all three of these episodes on repeat and always get excited!

Lone Rat and Cubs ( Season 5 Ep. 10 ) The final appearance of Splinter, the episode Kevin Eastman wrote, and a beautiful send-off to this character. It’s a flashback, yes, but this is the episode we get to see Yoshi adapting to his mutation as a rat, raising his boys, trying to be a good father and struggling to survive from the Krang. It’s a part of his life we rarely ever get to see, and this episode shows us why he was a great father. Basically it's a try not to cry challenge. For me, THIS episode is the series finale because it’s just a perfect conclusion to Splinter and his story.

Requiem/Owari ( Season 4 Episodes 25-26 ) The finale to the overall series, the finale to this overarching story, and it’s just as heartbreaking and suspenseful as you’d expect. The writers don't hold back their punches, and it shows that the gloves have finally come off. The characters we’ve come to love and care for are at their breaking point, the Shredder is the most threatening he’s ever been, and the team decides it’s time to put the monster down for good. Whoever thinks this show was just ‘kiddie trash’ needs to be sat down and shown this two-parter, because GODDAMN. Ciro Nieli treated this with so much care and respect. I cannot help but adore the team who put this together because the stakes have been raised to an all-time high, and the final showdown between Shredder and the turtles here is hair-raising, all reaching its climax when Leonardo finishes Oroku Saki by beheading him. It’s powerful, it’s devastating, and it’s a damn excellent showcase of why this series was the best iteration of the franchise to date.

The Fourfold Trap ( Season 3 Ep. 23 ) Yet another homage to a horror movie, only this time it’s a lot more intense. Based on Saw, this episode makes you sit on the edge of your seat as you can only hope that the turtles will escape the traps Karai’s put them in. It’s all nerve wracking to watch on a first viewing experience, POOR DONNIE OH MY GOD, CAN WE STOP PUTTING THIS BOY IN ELECTROCUTION DEVICES???? He still manages to create a plan to save his brothers even while he’s being electrocuted! Also, SPLINTER IS BEST RAT DAD. This episode will teach you the meaning of ‘angsty dread’ and ‘overwhelming anxiety.’

Trans-Dimensional Turtles ( Season 4 Ep. 10 ) THE TURTLES FOREVER WE DESERVED BUT WE DIDN'T GET UNTIL CIRO NIELI HOOKED US UP WITH THE BEST CROSSOVER WE’VE EVER BEEN BLESSED WITH! The OG turtles are all so much fun to see again both in and out of 2D, Gilbert Godfried is always a delight, the 2012 turtles in traditional 2D animation is awesome, and ALL THE OG VOICE ACTORS ARE HERE AND CLEARLY HAVING THE TIMES OF THEIR LIVES. THE ROB PAULSEN JOKE IS LITERALLY A BLESSING XD I only wish it had been longer!

Honorable Mentions are Slash and Destroy, Pizza-Face, Within the Woods and Mutant Gangland!

And rounding it off is the last— but certainly not least— series, Rise!! I adore this one!! It’s right behind 2012 as my favorite TMNT series just for the stellar animation!! It’s such a shame that this one had to end so unfairly, but today I’m giving it the love it deserves!! Please note that I have yet to complete season two of ROTTMNT cuz my life has been crazy hectic and I haven’t had the time, but once I do, I’ll go back and update this section if I find more episodes I liked!

Raph’s Ride Along ( Season 2 Ep. 8A ) Ummmmmm the 2012 VA’s playing parody versions of their turtles as yokai criminals??? HELL YEAH. If only they got Astin to play a character though! Then we would’ve had a reverse Turtles Forever reunion! I came out of this episode really loving the Mud Dogz as characters and wanting more, especially Dastardly Danny cuz Rob Paulsen is always a win! Too bad this show got canned before we could really get to know these guys. BUT HEY! That’s what the fandom is for! 🤣

Insane in the Mama Train ( Season 1 Episode 25 ) When I watched this series blind, this episode blew my mind. Seeing something so well done had me screaming in joy with how expertly this episode was crafted. The stellar action choreography, the great comedic elements splashed in to lighten the tense mood, the ANIMATION OH MY LORD. Disney, take notes. And that ending leaves a pit in my stomach every time, like OOOOF, those expressions! That sudden tonal swap!

Mystic Library ( Season 1, Ep. 20A ) Probably my favorite comedy episode! The timing for the jokes in this one specifically is so well done, and every single one had me in tears. I’ve been trying to commit Donnie’s library rap to memory but alas, I’ve been failing.

The Clothes Don’t Make The Turtle ( Season 2 Episode 10B ) THIS. MORE OF THIS PRETTY PLEASE. It's just SO MUCH FUN. I really don’t have anything else to say other than this one is a great treat, also, the reanimated fan cut of this is spectacular!!

Snow Day ( Season 1 Ep. 23B ) This, for me, is the Christmas special of the series even though it’s in no way related to the holiday or has anything to do with it BUT I DON’T CARE LET ME DREAM. I love this one for the adorable interactions and the bonding! Seeing the characters goofing off and having fun, enjoying the weather and spending time together outside of the angst? I CRAVE FLUFF LIKE THIS.

And Tada! There it is! I hope you liked this!! It was tons of fun to compile all my favorite episodes into one project and share my thoughts! This fandom has been nothing but fantastic and I’m proud to be in it!

My informal review of The Last Graduate (here be spoilers)

Well, I just finished The Last Graduate, and I’m just sitting with all my muscles clenched in tension and sorrow, lol

But seriously, what an interesting ending……I’m not sure what to make of it yet? The narrative was leading you to expect a big push/big sacrifice from El when something inevitably went wrong, and I was hoping that everything would simply go right (obviously), but I wasnt unaware of Orion’s opportunity to make the self-sacrifice play. WAS IT NECESSARY THOUGH???? *insert look how they massacred my boy meme. i think i read way too much of this book late last night (whoops), so my comprehension of it is not as developed as with the first book (shame on me for reading too fast like a glutton), but what a great sequel! I liked watching El wrestle with learning to trust people and work as a team, I loved watching her relationship with sisters sorry her friends develop, and I loved the growth of her relationship with Orion as well*. I will say I think his character has been a little underutilized at times, in a way not untypical for a romantic interest of either gender, but Novik that’s my mannnnnnnnnnnn, I wanna read about him! But we definitely did get some good scenes that developed he and El’s relationship and seemed the seeds for some of his own character development (let this man GROW). I’m not sure yet how I think the ending plays into that. If Patience-Fortitude was truly going to recenter the world, then his sacrifice was noble and necessary. But if it wasn’t, then why does my precious child need to kill it himself instead of letting El cast it into the void, hmmm? Side note: I loved El finally coming to appreciate the Scholomance cause I was freaking devastated by her willingness to condemn it. Maybe if I had suffered as much as she had, I’d hate my Alma mater too, but the loss of a place you know so well, a place where you have the happy memories of making your first friends—that’s gotta count for something, right?

I forgot to mention this in my review of A Deadly Education, but El’s Mom and their relationship is so important. God bless her, I’d love to meet her. I’d be exasperated at her character role as the Sole Voice of Truth and Goodness, except that’s the truths attributed to her are valuable, nuanced, and beautiful, and her knowledge of them makes sense in the context of how she has chosen to live her life. A life of uncomprising, open-hearted service and self-sacrifice teaches you a lot! Which brings us to one of my favorite bits of the book. I adore that Novik, Scholomance, and El all realize that you have to be faithful in the little moments because they shape you!!!! She had grown accustomed to saving the freshman instead of sacrificing them for her own benefit, and this shaped her character and prepared her to realize and then do what needed to be done to save them all. (I have so many good quotes saved without page numbers, so you’ll get those later, but boy howdy, these books have so beautiful things to say)

I’m so, so invested in what’s going to happen in the next book, but I’m not ready to have finished this delightful trilogy either. They’re going to be great rereads for sure! Here’s hoping things turn out okay for Orion (also why did El’s mother warn her off him? We do not know.) I’d love to see El get to change the world with her tiny enclaves, despite my dislike of large stakes in a story since they often render the plot unwieldy to the point of disbelief. It’s hard to write a story about something that changes the world without either 1. Writing Lord of the Rings or 2. Being massively and disgustingly reductive about what it takes to change the world and the u comfortable, uncontrollable consequences of doing so. Nevertheless, I am ready to be hurt again!

*I am once again asking for people not to put sex scenes in books. Please. Don’t do it. Ever.

headcanon that nendo acts absolutely unhinged when ill. I'll elaborate.

-he gets a horrendous cold every winter without fail. he just goes about his daily life as normal with a nose like a running tap and the thickest voice imaginable. he sneezes on average 7 times a minute and his sinuses are under incredible pressure. he asks saiki to observe every single sneeze and this is the only outward indication that he's aware that he is ill

-when he gets the flu he projectile vomits like it's a casual thing to do. he'll invite his friends over to watch a 2 hour youtube essay about the deadliest rollercoaster crashes and in the middle of infodumping just reach for a bucket and throw up in the most VIOLENT fashion before finishing his sentence like nothing happened. the sick bucket just disappears somehow and everyone is just running for the hills and screaming. the following day everyone else has the flu and nendo is fully recovered. 7 wounded 2 deceased

-he lost his voice once and just didn't notice. making these awful scratchy high pitch noises as he tried to speak. didn't shut up for a second, broke akechi's world record in words said per minute. topic of conversation still undetermined.

-he actually LIKES that weird achey shivery flu feeling. he says it's like sweet and sour sauce for his bones. no one's brave enough to ask wtf he means by that.

-he once chugged a bottle of cough syrup and it had no noticeable effect.

-he DOES mask when sick but he has to be told verbally by his mother that he is sick to believe it. he will then fully believe that he is sick until his mother informs him that he has recovered. once she forgot to tell him his cold went away and he double masked for a month straight. no one else said anything bc seeing nendo's chin stick out the bottom of a face mask is actually really funny

-he got chicken pox and thought he was going to turn into a chicken like he thought the spots were the feathers trying to poke through his skin. I have no possible defense for this man at this point.

-he works out when deathly ill bc he thinks if he's going to be sweating anyway he might as well. god he's so dumb. he's going to die. someone help him please.

-he can't swallow pills. he just can't. it is funny to watch him try tho

-he coughs like that one meme about how toddlers cough. hang on let me boogle it

12. Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

I'm not sure what episode here refers to. Like a blanket episode of television? To inspire a specific fic or generally anything? The answer to this is probably the "Arcadia" episode of The X-Files. Mulder and Scully go undercover in the sixth season (GOD, the shipper season) as marrieds trying to infiltrate a sinister HOA and it is every bit as fun as you imagine it would be. Rob and Laura Petrie! Poopy head! They just spooned up and fell asleep like little baby cats! Have I used this conceit in other things? Indeed, I have. (Anne Hathaway as the sinister HOA president in that fic I wrote once, ahhhh, I had a blast!) I think every partnership should have at least ONE fake married undercover plot.

15. If you choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose? Oh, this is a good one. Initially I was going to say that a lot of my fics are about vibes and feelings so they probably don't lend themselves to cinema, but all the AUs are plot-heavy so it would probably be a fraudulent zodiac if I ever finish it (I love spy dramas and the pea coat budget would be INSANE because I'd demand that everyone walk around like they're Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor, a movie that I hated but also found extremely aesthetically pleasing) or put it in a zip-lock bag (shot in the vein of Almost Famous meets Last Days). I would've said the apocalypse AU, but that would involve too much CGI, I fear. What I really want is for someone to film the unwritten space AU in my head.

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

More often than not, I re-read what I've written so far before getting to work on a new section so what ends up happening is that the earlier bits always get revised much more than the later ones. The whole thing sees at least one or two revisions once it is done (...usually immediately after it is done because I don't have the patience to sit on it, hence these 3am posts before a workday). I can count the number of times on one hand that I've finished a fic and then let it breathe for a day before going back to revise it because I simply didn't have it in me to read that much after churning it out.

I’m not gonna complain!!! It’s still a banger! I’ve just googled it and realized it is a song in an album, and I never listened to the whole of it. Huh. I should do that sometimes.

Currently watching: Just finished Community and the last season of Black Mirror. I finally know where some memes come from now!!! I’ve been seeing Community memes around and I never knew TwT. Consider me enlightened now. I really enjoyed it, all the characters there are stupid and unhinged and taking their stupidity seriously and I loved it! V good, v nice way to spend the time.

On the other hand, this season of Black Mirror kinda dissapointed me? There was one episode I REALLY LOVED (Demon 79, the last one, hell yeah the ending!!!!! WOOO!!!!), the first one (Joan is awful) was kinda neat, Loch Henry was depressing and I laughed out loud at how one character died because it is SO STUPID, Mazey day was boring, and Beyond the Sea was the biggest bullshit I ever saw. Such a big old dump!!!!! Something Extremely Traumatic happens to one character on a very important mission, and the Earth command doesn’t even get them to talk to a therapist. Also a lot of dick measuring going on there. Also shitty ending nobody could have predicted (sarcastic). Just, ugh. Sorry about the vagueness but I don’t want to spoil people who haven’t watched it yet. But if you want to watch only one episode of season 6, make it the last one :D 10/10

Also I’ll be cheeky and say I just finished the VOD of C-Puff’s ( @thefloatingstone‘s) stream :3 Can’t wait to see more!!!! And, please, don’t apologize for lore dumps they are delightfull and I finally have a streamer I can watch and not feel like I’m missing most of the story/worldbuilding. You know what? Currently reading: Nothing in particular, my brain is once again in the reading slump. I guess comics would count, actually? In that case, an absolutely amazing comic called “Tiger, Tiger” by @pepurika. It has two very gay siblings, A giant bisexual (?) himbo, an old god’s child (they are very chaotic and very, very gay from what I understand) and cool old ships. ALSO SEA SPONGES!!!! Sea sponges are very important. They literally drive the plot okay! There is ship stealing, identity theft, deals with gods, marvelous scientific discoveries and much, MUCH more, all in the name of sea sponges! The main character got hyperfixated as a child and went unhinged, and if that sounds relatable to you, you’ll enjoy her :) Also everyone there is very smart and capable and yet you have to wonder where they keep their braincells because they are all also??? Kinda dumb??? In incredibly relatable ways. Heccking 10/10 comic. I have to read it all from the beginning because I can’t wait for the last book to come out asaajudzgigui the suffering is sweet tho.

the first fic you ever published there: This was a bit of a challenge and relied on my memory because of all the fics I've posted backdated, but since I knew it was a Yuletide fic and I joined in 2009...apparently I wrote a fuckton of fic for Yuletide that year, but I think it was either The Gravedigger, Lingering On, or Memorial.

the last fic you published: I need to finish editing and posting the fic I'm stalling about and have been for the last three weeks. But as of right now the most recent fic I posted was jiggety-jig, a short little thing about Pete being very fucked up psychologically.

any fic that you wrote for a fandom/ship only once: If I count 616 as one fandom (rather than parsing out by series) which I feel like I should, then I'm going to go with we too (three) could be glorious, my (thus far!) only Crimson Peak fic, though I'd kind of like to write more.

your favorite fic you wrote in the fandom/ship that has the most works: good god am I meant to look through the 293 (jesus) works I wrote for the MCU trying to remember/decide a favorite? I guess the answer is "yes, Lise, you chose to do this meme." I ended up pretty proud of Will to Live, I guess. It was a fun concept and I'm pretty pleased with the execution of it. Maybe I should reread that one. If I can cheat and do a series, though, I might have to choose Remember This Cold, even if not all of it is created equal - I just am proud of the damn thing, unevenness or not. It's a magnum opus of some kind.

the fic you wish more people read: I have written a lot of fics, you guys, and there's a lot of them that I wish got more attention. I decided I got to pick five, and because considering I'm clocking in at just over 1k to choose from I think I can be forgiven.

let's start with two from my current main fandoms, the people are gone and the place is empty, an a-Qing and Xue Yang AU that I'll never continue even though I kind of want to, and like a trigger (get me ready to shoot), which isn't exactly underread overall but is one of my Kinnporsche fics that's less read and very important to me personally. I'm weirdly fond of Foundling though I understand why it's not everybody else's favorite fic, since it might tread too close to Odin apologism for some. For a flashback to Supernatural fic, (and we all end up alone) remains one of my favorites I wrote for that fandom. And then there's Ouroboros, the second-person fic about Ishamael. so I'm not surprised that people don't gravitate toward that one, but I like it.

"Are you for real?!" Kyler, the young demigod they were sent to fetch, screeched as he looked around. "You've lost at least a pint of blood already!"

Kyler didn't want to think what would happen once the guy's scary friend, Nico, found out what happened.

"Maybe your dad really is Apollo," Percy kept going, to the point Kyler feared he was going delirious. "If so, you won't like me much once you're at camp."

The young boy ignored him, just glad that the fight had happened inside his mom's workplace, which happened to be a freaking blood bank (Percy Jackson must be very favored by the gods he didn't know existed 5 hours ago)

"I need to know your type," he said. Percy winced.

"Just for the record," he said. "It wasn't my fault they broke up. Despite what anyone says, I didn't know they were fighting or that what I did could be seen as flirting!"

"Your type, Percy!" Kyler said impatiently.

Percy looked around confused.

"Not here," he answered.

"What do you mean 'not here'?! Every type is here!" If the blood loss didn't kill Percy, Kyler would be the one to finish the snake woman's job.

"Not mine," Percy said, melancholy. "You know it's funny. You never really think about these things until one day, you look at someone who used to watch over you but doesn't anymore, and you realize 'damn, I have never wanted anything more than to have that back'."

Kyler stayed quiet. His first instinct was to press Percy for his type again, but something about the mood made him shut up. Percy could be uttering his last words, and it would be rude to interrupt him.

"And... people see you and wonder if something's wrong with you, and there is, but... only because you took like seven years to realize it." Percy chuckled a little bit, only to since at the movement. "And you realize you do have a type. You love the acidic sense of humor, the roguish smiles, the sense that you can both protect and be protected by someone you've known for so long, who will never give you up, let you down... Or desert you."

Kyler blinked, perplexed. Was this demigod... Rickrolling him?

"I MEANT YOUR BLOOD TYPE, YOU MORON!"

"O Positive," a new voice spoke. Kyler jumped as Scary Demigod AKA Nico seemingly materialized out of a corner and looked at him unimpressed. "Why is no one pressing against his wound?"

Kyler's face dropped in shame as Nico approached the ailing demigod and inspected his stomach.

"My type is here!" Percy exclaimed happily. Kyler's eyes bugged out. Nico? The guy who looked like he would kill first, ask questions to your ghost later?

"You're lucky you got slashed, or a rag is what I'd be pressing against your mouth." While his voice was as even and threatening as ever, Kyler noticed how his expression softened and he smiled softly. "That would stop you from emotionally scarring children."

"Aww, babe, no need to be embarrassed," Percy gushed. "And the kid will hate me anyways once his cabin counselor talks to him."

"Forget the blood. The wound is superficial," Nico said. "There's a bag with squares of food in my backpack, give me that and something for him to drink."

Kyler yelped and obeyed quickly. He felt like an intruder on the scene, as Nico whispered stuff into Percy's ear, making him smile.

"So, what's your type, handsome?" Percy asked, looking at Nico. The other demigod rolled his eyes.

"Not sure, I'm debating if he has a death wish right now."

Percy guffawed for half a second, only to groan and hold his stomach right after.

Question 1: What is the most embarrassing thing that everyone has done?

Alex: When she first became Elysian and was still figuring out how to juggle both her life as a hero and as a teenager she ran into a lot of embarrassing moments.

The most embarrassing ,however, was when she was 16. She was in class and got an alert that a bank was being robbed nearby and in order to get out of the class to go stop it she very loudly announced that she was on her period and needed to go to the restroom.

Jasper: Okay so the year is 2020. The team had just finished up another mission and were waiting for the police to arrive to the scene.

Do you know what 15 year old Jasper does in order to pass the time? Challenges “MC” to a race. The race starts and as he’s running Jasper trips and falls directly on his face and loses.

The kid with super-speed lost to the 13/14 year old without any superpowers. Nobody will ever let him forget. Ever.

Zoe: While chasing a criminal during a mission she ended up flying face first into a billboard after getting distracted by Jasper tripping.

That wasn’t the embarrassing part though. The embarrassment comes from the fact that is was caught on camera by the news. People reposted it online, made edits and memes. The video was everywhere for months.

Rowan: Aequitas had just wrapped up another mission (they had a lot of them…being superheroes and all) and Rowan and MC had delivered the blow that had knocked the villain out.

In his excitement, Rowan proceeded to fist pump the air and then pull MC into a hug. This was (once again) all caught on video by the news (downsides to be a teen hero ig).

Okay so it’s not actually that embarrassing to anyone but Rowan but he found it humiliating. Will actually walk out of the room if anyone talks about it.

Sidekick Squad

Vesper: Doesn’t feel shame or embarrassment Was once stalking following a lead on a mission and ended up getting caught. Anyways it turns into a fight and the team have to end up making an escape through a window.

Except Vesper couldn’t escape because they were too short to reach the edge of the window and climb out. Leon had to go back for them. They tried to play it off as a joke but literally wasn’t able to look anyone in the eyes for a week.

Leon: The only one who’s story doesn’t have anything to do with heroics. When he was very young he got lost in the supermarket. Instead of going to ask someone for help, he decides to look for his mother himself.

He ended up spotting the dress his mother was wearing walking down the parking lot and raced to her.

Except it wasn’t her.

His family still laughs about it.

Juniper: Was fighting a villain (bc once again teen superheroes) and decided to freeze him in place. (Wrongly) assuming that the fight was now over, Juni went to answer some questions from reporters.

While she wasn’t looking not only did the villain manage to unfreeze himself but he also managed to knock her out. Once again on live television. It was almost as bad Zoe’s billboard incident.

Nora: While doing cleanup after a mission, Nora was given the job to handle the civilians and reporters. After about 5 different interviews and 100 different autographs, she turns to leave but gets stopped.

She turns around and opens with “For the love of god please don’t ask me for another interview or autograph” just to see that it was the police commissioner. He had just come to ask for her statement about the villain. Nora was mortified.

Sebastian: Was doing his usual rounds of patrol (literally nobody asked him to them, he does them for fun) when he literally trips off of the roof he was standing on and lands face first into a dumpster down below.

Sebastian obviously walked it off and pretended nothing happened but Vesper managed to catch it on video (nobody has managed to figure out how or why they were there in the first place).

Team Rancher (Solidaritek) for the ship ask meme, please?

Do I ship it? WHAT A COMPLICATED QUESTION.

I did, with all my heart and north of 50k words. In an ideal world, in my ideal world, I would still be shipping it. I can't explain how much I want to be okay with Ranchers. I feel like I got dumped by someone I was good friends with before we dated, who really wants to be friends again, but it hurts too much to think about them. (Has that happened recently in my life, yes, lol.) I hope someday we can be friends again, but I'm not good at getting over things.

I've been sitting on a "what's your brutally honest opinion of [ship]" ask since... the doc was last modified march 17. okay. It's a simple chronology

I watched Double Life, was not obsessed with mcyt, checked to see if people were writing it and was pleased. I wasn't even regularly watching their POVS.

I watched 3L and got sucked in hard by Flower Husbands. I started writing a bit multiverse series, and I needed Scott and Jimmy to talk about Jimmy/Tango having happened (they don't remember their pasts while in the life games), so I needed to play that out, and oops I was obsessed. (then smalletho happened in the same way with those people)

The crossover started, tango put those fucking hearts over the reunion scene (no one made him do that), I was possessed by tango/jimmy/fwhip and wrote and published my absolute most popular fic, it was real work to get through "oh i'll never get that many kudos again". (chart below to show you how damn popular it is compared to fic where i'm not actively sad about them). then i started publishing the sequel, and quickly went from "i'll never do a wip" to 'well just this once"

Jimmy built Tango the ranch and i got possessed again and wrote a long fic about it

i said "if that's all ever get, that's fine, this gave me so much to work with". and that would have been fine for a month long crossover, but i think it was 50 more days, every day wishing and hoping that today there would be something, that tango's ep would include the ranch, shit like that

And my heart turned bitter, guys.

This is my first unscripted/whatever fandom. The phrase "content creator" was not part of my life before. Maybe an actor sucked, but they didn't write the words they spoke, they were selling me a character completely distinct from them, it wasn't just that actor doing it all. Maybe a showrunner sucked, but so many people put their hearts and souls into their series.

But this? I don't know how to deal with this, I don't know how to separate annoyance with a creator from a character, not when they say all the same things and make the same weird noises and are, y'know, pretty much the same cause it's not like Tango's out there doing heavy roleplay. I just have no experience, and I can not express strongly enough how frustrated I am with myself that I'm so worked up over it. I was briefly annoyed with Scott about something around the same time (it's stupid, i'm not going to talk about it) and I worked SO HARD to not let it be a thing, i made myself watch scott content i knew made me happy, i was not going to let myself have an issue with scott, as we all know he's everywhere - and flower husbands will always be my first ship.

If I didn't have a god damned wip in tango pov I might be over this now. I would have been able to try and not think about it - I have ranchers pretty well filtered, but did you know filters don't catch text in an ask? They don't! But I thought about the wip every day, as it seemed harder and harder to imagine every writing tango pov, and it spiraled. It was very bad! I know I am allowed to drop a wip, but it doesn't line up with how I want to be conducting my affairs.

But then @that-tall-queer-bassist interrupted one of my wailing session to say they'd finish it. I have it all outlined, I had I think the first page written, and crucially i wrote the final conversation, the end of this damn series.

So now Limited Life is over, I don't watch much HC and it's sounds like Tango's just working on decked out all the time, so I can maybe get some space. I watched some 3rd Life last night and was doing find with Tango being around. Maybe I can CHILL OUT and someday I can go back to my Double Life wips, I know exactly what that Tango did and nothing can surprise me.

I would like to be chill again. I would like it so bad. I would like to un filter content on tumblr, and finish "Swinging Soulmates" which i think is actually fantastic, and put my ranchers fanart back in the frame. I'd like to do the main part of the larpers au and not just the side fics. (Though i wrote tango being around and being jimmy's bf in the smalletho morning after larper fic, i was very proud of myself.) Maybe after the wip is done, and I can exist neutrally. I don't know why the series is so popular, fwhip/tango had one more interaction ever (and fwhip wanting to trap him in a hole forever....) I guess it's fix it? I wish it felt like fix it for meeeeee

My brutally honest opinion of Ranchers?

Double Life was great. I somehow didn’t get into them until I was writing a multiverse-whatever flower husbands fic and needed to fill in the blanks of “scott and jimmy are talking about DL and obviously they fucked” and i incepted myself into it. I loved it, I wrote a lot, loved art, commissioned art, etc.

Right now we’re on a little bit of a break. This ship, and specifically the crossover, is what got me publishing, not just writing, when I was possessed day one. “MY EX STOLE MY SOULMATE” is still my most popular fic by far, and the unfinished sequel is in second place. After jimmy’s second crossover ep, i got into a fic i loved very much, “love respect joy and ranchin’”. i put so much work and  love into it, i got a fwhimmy consult and a grian consult. I said after that ep that if that was all we got, i’d be okay, cause i’d gotten so much out of it via fic. But then the length of time of “not getting any more” was too long, I spent too long wishing and hoping, and my feelings went sour

crowley’s inquiry about grim’s health makes me side-eye him more strongly the more i think about it. yes i know why (grim attacked yuu, was more strongly affected by the blot, etc) but i’m still suspicious, i wanna know if there’s more to it.

play for a crowd! is also up there on my list of favorite twistunes but i can’t play it while sleep deprived or my score goes down the toilet. ask me how i know. half the time normal mode is harder than hard mode.

the “dream” sequence was so interesting!! yuu and mickey can’t see anything but each other. grim can’t see mickey either, and vice versa.

but. mickey could see silver. why was silver at ramshackle at night? a reasonable assumption is that silver went to ramshackle to find malleus, couldn’t, and left, but really…

why could mickey see silver at all?

i’ve heard (though i haven’t got a source for this unfortunately) that silver says — somewhere — that he’s seen yuu before, or that they look familiar, or something along those lines. i wanna know if this is connected to that. also, silver’s curse. that too. sleep/dreams vs reality etc.
