Hi!!! thank you for the ask and I'm so, so sorry it took me so long to reply. It's been a rough couple of days and I really liked this ask, so i didn't want to rush my answer or answer it when i'm in a bad mood hehe.

thank you for the ask anon!! (please know i really like this ask hehe). I'm sorry, I think I got carried away with my reply, hehe. It's, very, very long.

If you're asking about otps within the X-Men or Marvel as a whole, then no, I don't have any other otps besides cherik. Cherik is my love, my life, the One True Pairing~~

ofc this doesn't mean i'm not open to other ships... i enjoy reading or seeing the multitude of ships within the X-Men fandom, but none have screamed "OTP!!!" at me, so yeah...

BUT if you're asking outside the xmen/marvel fandom... THEN YES I DO HAVE OTHER OTPS!!!! and i'm screaming about them rn!!!

unfortunately the otps i love (other than cherik) is not popular, like, at all. it's not from famous western media and the fanfics about them in ao3 is so... few. like, 30 tops. it makes me soo sad, but I'm kinda hesitant to scream about them on this blog because this is, primarily, a cherik blog and people don't know them, y'know?

I won't mention the name of the ship(s) (i want to keep you guessing muahaha) but I have two other otps

a) This one, let's call it the S/W ship. (It's m/m, in case you're confused). it has TONS of parallels to cherik. for instance, both guys love each other so, so much, but because they have different ideologies, they're standing on opposite sides of the war. (it's so much like cherik damn it).

there was this scene, where W sneaks into a place to steal confidential information and stuff. He runs into S, and basically S holds him (W) at gunpoint. the two are bickering, fighting and persuading each other to abandon their ideologies...

And all this time S is holding W at gunpoint, as I mentioned, but W is super chill about it. He's fine. He doesn't even flinch lol.

But when W's fellow spies arrive and they point all their guns at S... That's when W really panics and loses it.

"Don't shoot! Don't shoot! DON'T SHOOT!"

W yelled like three times, and, I kid you not, he looked so, so panicked and afraid that they would shoot S. ...like, if this doesn't scream love what does? When someone points a gun at you you're fine, but when people point gun at your husband you panic? GAYYYY

Okay, here's another parallel with cherik: I'm sure cherik fans know the infamous scene where Pyro basically says, we should've killed Prof X, and Magneto goes, bitch you did *not* just say that!

Well, this ship has a similar scene like that!! Basically there's a confrontation between W and S's secretary, who says W is nothing but trash without S.

Now at this point in time W and S are basically divorced/they've went their separate ways because of their different ideologies etc, AND THEN ofc S defends W, vehemently.

And then a bad guy pops up and he's accusing S of a crime. [Actually the one who did this "crime" is W, but he's managed to hide his tracks well].

When W realizes that the Bad Guy wants to put S in jail (even tho there's no proof that S did it), he willingly admits that he did the "crime". Now, mind you, this is the guy who went to great lengths to protect himself and erase all evidence about the crime, and he's been in hiding for a while, but because he doesn't want S to go to jail, he willingly admits he did it.

AND THEN, just when I thought things couldn't get any better, S takes the blame for the crime.

(are you confused? Here's a shortened version of events):

Bad Guy: S, you're suspected of a crime. I'm taking you to jail.

W: No!!! The truth is, I did it!!

S: No, I did it. W is just working for me, he is my person!!

W: No!!! I'm not working for you anymore!! (we're divorced remember?)

S: Shut up, I'm the one who did it!

W: No!!! Bad Guy, you have to believe me, I did it!!!

Bad Guy: ...stop flirting in front of me, okay? If you both want to go to jail just go together and flirt there.

Yeah, that's.. basically what happened.

I may have spiralled a bit, this is so long lol. That's my first OTP :)

b) My second OTP is less... wow, I guess? Like the previous one, this OTP is not famous, at all. It's not from popular western media either and I have only found ONE post on Tumblr about this. (I kid you not)

I'm not done reading this particular one yet, so I don't have that much stuff to rave about this OTP...

But imagine this, you're a killer. Your instinct is to kill (it literally gives you an adrenaline rush + makes you stronger). It's a curse imbedded in you.

Oh, but you stopped killing someone?

Why, because you were thinking of your "brother"????? (Cherik gay montage, cough cough)

Yeah, that's basically them lol. I really ship these two characters but I don't have enough material about them and their gayness.... But yeah, they scream OTP to me...

A Case for Jezri

Listen, I know how the DS9 fandom feels about Jezri, but I just wanted to take a moment to explain why I like it. I'm not asking people to agree; I just want to give it some love because there are things to enjoy and to explore in that ship that haven't gotten any discussion.

(Also why is 99.9% of the Jezri tag just people tagging their hate? Who raised y'all? Please be respectful towards your fellow fans who may not feel the same as you.)

I'm no stranger to finding my gold nuggets in the trash heap when it comes to Star Trek ships. I'm the type to find the things to love about something that was executed poorly by the writers. Datasha is my TNG OTP. Need I say more.

So don't think I don't understand some of the main objections people have to Jezri. I get it. I do. So with that out of the way, let's get into the good stuff.

Julian's personal story, particularly in the later parts of the show, has a strong motif of loneliness, which comes from two or three different aspects of his life. The first one is of course the fact that he's an augment. He's socially isolated by his mental and physical superiority. No one can keep up with him, and he has to diminish himself to fit in, especially before the truth comes out. The second is the evolving lives of the people closest to him. There reaches a point where nearly all of his closest friends are either married or in committed relationships, and he's the free floater who has to hope he can still fit into their lives somewhere. The third aspect is his own shit luck with relationships. No one sticks with him for very long for whatever reason. And there was the everything with Jadzia on top of it all. Poor man couldn't catch a break.

And then along comes Ezri. Quark is quick to treat her as same old Dax with a new coat of paint, for whose affections he immediately tries to generate competition with Julian, because he is a sexist little toad. Julian, to his great credit, is like "what the fuck, Quark" and makes it clear that he sees Ezri as a different person, not Jadzia 2.0 who he now has a chance with. Ezri is his new friend, and he's not going to be pulled into Quark's bullshit.

The writing is unfortunately rather uneven when it comes to showing us the establishment and development of that friendship, so we have to piece together the vibes from several disparate moments, some big and meaningful and others more incidental, but that's not too difficult for me. Fandom has done more with less.

Anyway! Through all of that, we kind of get to see that Ezri sees Julian differently than Jadzia did in a way that allows them to click very quickly. Jadzia sort of saw Julian as an adorable puppy excitedly wagging his tail at her (and by the time he matured into someone who was more her type, he'd stopped pursuing her and then she was with Worf). Ezri sees him as the charming guy who knows how to have a good time. It seems natural to me that Julian would quickly latch onto someone who thought his holosuite adventures were demonstrative of a healthy sense of fun and not a sign of immaturity. Ezri is literally the bad bitch he pulled by being autistic.

And they are such adorable awkward nerds with each other! The big eyes! The soft touches! The fumbling! The trying to keep things platonic because they just like each other so much that they're afraid of messing things up! The breaking down and making out anyway because they can't escape the vibes! *chef's kiss*

The thing that completely sold me on Jezri, though, was their moment together at the end of the last episode where Julian is mourning Miles' departure and feeling lonely and then Ezri rolls up like "Hey~!" and expresses the desire to have dinner and do holosuite adventures with him. That was so beautiful to me. Everything is changing and so many of his friends have left and it's the ultimate pit of loneliness for him, but then there's Ezri. He has her now and he's not alone and the war is over and there's hope and the start of something new and soft. I cried, y'all. Like maybe it's because I'm at a place in my life where I feel left behind while I watch all my friends move on with their lives, but man, the way Ezri represents the light at the end of a dark tunnel for Julian just got me so good.

Here are some of the headcanons I have to supplement the sparse canon material and give further depth and enjoyment to my shipping experience:

They're both bisexual.

Since they're both healthcare professionals, they have a lot to talk about where their fields intersect. They make a great team when they're working, but this also results in them developing a shorthand with each other that is somewhat infuriating for others.

Ezri's closeness with Julian allows her to better develop her friendship with Garak, and there are several times when all three of them get up to shenanigans together.

They sometimes get each other new tea blends to try as a fun little surprise.

Ezri tries to teach Julian some of the gymnastics stuff she remembers at least once with mixed results.

Julian particularly loves hugging Ezri, and she particularly loves holding his hand.

Julian persuades Ezri to read Lord of the Rings, and she gets really into it, so they end up doing a holosuite adaptation as Legolas and Gimli. Ezri plays with her beard a lot.

Quark fucking hates how cute they are and Kira makes a point to tell him about every sweet moment she sees between them just to fuck with him.

Ezri very much gets in on the Fuck With Section 31 train and helps Julian do spy shit. The criminal psychology knowledge comes in handy.

Anyway, these are my feels. Please don't air your grievances here. I just want to sail on my dinghy and hope someone out there is sailing with me.

I love the plot, I love the setting, I love the vibe-- and my original self-imposed posting deadline was... December 15th, 2017, which was the day AOL shut down AIM. May the me that truly believed I would make that deadline rest in peace.

what are your writing strengths? I had dial-up for, like, years after everyone else switched to high speed-- and therefore have a deep wellspring of patience. I am never in a rush to post!

what are your writing weaknesses? I'm an underwriter... to an extreme. I'll be on the 58th draft before I realize I've never once, in 80k words, described a single outfit.

thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I try to only sprinkle in words/phrases that can be 100% understood via context alone -- or words that are used so often in canon that even the most most casual fans would recognize them.

Ok, i’ve calmed down a bit.

I’d like to talk about this a bit more, just one more time.

I do know people who ship Daisuke/Ken and are wonderful people. If i still kept some appreciation and hope to one day enjoy it fully again it’s thanks to those ones. Their passion and positivity plus them respecting me, who’s a major Daisuke/Miyako shipper, kept me still want to make them happy doodling and talking about this ship. Some of them had heard my history and knows why i’m wary about their OTP.

But just as Shiha vented... I’m too in constant fear of shippers coming to thrash me, cut bonds with me, forbid their friends and beloved ones to talk with me because of this. This happened to me before and being ghosted or simply people vague-posting about me because I had my own views and headcanons different from them.

I don’t want those who’re nice and gentle to me to feel bad for this. It just it will take more time for me to enjoy your OTP again.

The art i posted on twitter had tags to filter them, because i know a lot of people hates Ken/Miyako and that’s okay. Hence why I tag any shippy/romantic content with tags -- so they can be filtered.

But i have no idea what do you gain with invading someone’s spaces to harass them about a fictional ship. And i heard from a friend that more people had been attacked on twitter like this too. Which made me completely upset.

Tracking people down to make fun of them, or trash the things they like... Please this is unhealthy and will only hurt everyone.

I feel so sorry for the good Daisuke/Ken shippers and friends i’ve met before to have to see those vent-posts instead of cool art. It’s not your fault. And Thank for your kindness and for the times we spent together.

favorite thing about them

Okay this may be a bit harsh, but I honestly fell in love with them from loving to dunk on him. Originally, I played this game on a stream with friends and I could not stand Komaeda in the slightest. But he was undoubtedly interesting and intriguing. So I began to learn more about him and then I got addicted to his POV and how he really saw the world.

If I had to pick a favorite thing about him, it would be learning about what he was dealing with and his true feelings, how he deflects those feelings and tries to bury his needs in this warped idealistic version of Hope.

A second thing I love about him? He's a very intimate type of character. The way he speaks about things are quite romantic. His character songs are like beautiful declarations of love and need, of his inner desires. And honestly, it's all just very bold and striking. I love that he's a character who wants to be close to others, but holds himself back due to his talent and his past. There's so much going on there.

least favorite thing about them

I...really hate that the fandom ignores the things he does that are really wrong. Like yeah, TeruTeru is trash, but Nagito utterly manipulated a guy who was already barely keeping it together and put murder into his mind.

Nagito is, at the same time, a very selfish and selfless character. Those two things aren't mutually exclusive. But I feel like the fandom ignores a lot of his issues and his actual self-serving attitude.

I get the feeling that he and Ibuki really secretly vibe. And they vibe hard. unpopular opinion

I really do see him as bi/pan and/or demisexual depending on certain things. Ultimately, I think what his initial attraction is is his love of Hope that he senses and then fixates on someone for, so gender is never really even the first thing he ever considers. But that's just my personal thoughts. I think gay Komaeda headcanons, trans headcanons, and of course, bi/pan and whathaveyou headcanons are all valid as fuck.

What’s your current OTP? Oof, I think I gotta go Prinxiety! So much potential for angst with hurt/comfort.

What’s your current NOTP? You know, I honestly can't think of any tbh.

Do you have any poly ships? For my OTP question, I originally answered LAMP/CALM, so definitely that!

How do you feel about love triangles? I think they can be intriguing if done well. If there's cheating involved, it would be pretty difficult for me to feel sympathy for the cheater.

How do you feel about RPF? It's fine, do whatever you want. Fanfic has always been for fans, not for creators. Purity culture and entitlement needs to stop. It's like seeing a sign that says "Snapping Turtles", jumping in the pond anyways, then yelling at the people who put up the sign after you lose a couple pounds of flesh.

Have you ever shipped yourself with a character? Tbh, the closest I've gotten is wanting different characters to adopt me and take me from my home. But I don't think I've ever romantically shipped myself with someone.

I was asked this on my old blog right as I set about transitioning to this one, so...

The first character I ever fell in love with: for DA:O, dare I say Daveth? What can I say -- I irrationally got incredibly attached to him. otherwise, DEFINITELY Morrigan, and I have crystal clear memories of my first run through Lothering and looking at Morrigan like 😍 the whole time. For DA:2/E, Carver -- unless you count Anders & Justice since I knew of them from Awakening beforehand, in which case probably Justice. For DA:I, it’s a toss-up between Vivienne or Cole -- I technically liked Cole first but SPECIFICALLY in the supporting material (Asunder), and didn’t vibe with him anywhere near as much in the game, AND I got him as a companion after I got Vivienne, so probably Vivienne.

A character that I used to love/like, but now do not: for DA:O, I guess Oghren? I never loved him, but I liked the idea of him because I really liked the dwarves/Orzammar side of DA’s worldbuilding -- but he’s such an unlikeable character that I just.. don’t vibe with him at all. I debate recruiting him every single time now, and I don’t think I ever do his personal quest (in the base game OR Awakening). for DA:2/E, I don’t really have anyone that fits -- but I REALLY wanted to like Merrill and Aveline more than I did, and especially in Aveline’s case, I can’t stand her and genuinely think she’s the unintended, secret Big Bad of the whole game. for DA:I, probably Cole, bc I was really into the idea of a little walking-corpse serial killer animated by a spirit as per the book, but that’s not really the vibe in DA:I, and combined with the somewhat patronising/ableist language and how significantly he is infantilised (including by the fandom) I just got put off him. I do still like him, but not as much.

A ship that I used to love/like, but now do not: for DA:O, I don’t really have one? I guess see my DA:I answer, lol... for DA:2/E, has to be Anders - I don’t think he’s OOC in 2, but I think his writing does so little with him and he feels v. reductive. Where his relationship could be SO interesting and angsty, it instead is written in a really dull and/or cringey way. It would have been nice to see Anders more like the Anders of Awakening near the beginning of the game (rather than random, infrequent and questionably rare snippets), and then see the progression of his relationship with Justice as the game went on -- I want more interesting abominations, PLEASE. for DA:I, listen I cannot express to you HOW EXCITED I was for my planned Lavellan to romance Sera… also I used to be way more tolerant of Cullen x Amell/Surana ships because, like, hey dark ships are fun, right? But since Cullen’s ~wholesome whitewash~ in DA:I, and his fandom clamouring to absolve him of any wrongdoing ever.. it’s boring to me.

My ultimate favourite character™: for DA:O, probably Sten? or Morrigan. They’re both fantastic, and also are significant comfort chars for me. for DA:2/3, honestly, probably my own Hawke -- I feel so hugely proud of her, and can’t imagine I’d enjoy the game anywhere near as much had I not played it as my Hawke. If not her, maybe Sebastian or Carver? for DA:I, I really love Vivienne, as well as Blackwall, and Solas is a great character even if I probably would not say I liked him.

Prettiest character: for DA:O, we all know it’s Zevran. for DA:2/E, I think Aveline -- although her aggressively bland colour-scheme lets her down in a major way (although I respect her dedication to all orange all day every day). There’s just something about her arms -- very Abby from TLOU:2. for DA:I, maybe Josephine? Ser Barris is very pretty, too...

My most hated character: for DA:O, I really didn’t like Alistair, Wynne and Oghren, and of my companions - Oghren is probably my least favourite. He’s vulgar and also profoundly uninteresting. for DA:2/E, it has to be Aveline. There’s just something about ineptitude and a complete, wilful refusal to take accountability for your actions that I can’t stand. It would be okay if it was an intentional character flaw, but the game/narrative treats her like she’s lawful good and it really annoys me. for DA:I, maybe Iron Bull? He was a huge disappointment for me. I also really dislike Sera, Cassandra, and Varric. I’m so sick of Varric - I never want to see him again.

My OTP: for DA:O, I really loved Zevran’s romance -- but I am also very amused by the fact that Leliana got to ‘love’ status with Kallian accidentally, AND I got the ‘love’ glitch for Justice (👀) and Velanna. I do sometimes wonder about an AU where Kallian is forced to make a politically expedient marriage with Nathaniel Howe for diplomatic reasons in order to consolidate her position as Arlessa, and it being an entirely platonic arrangement (it’s not like anyone expects an heir from an infertile Grey Warden) -- and maybe Zev and Nate kiss sometimes, who knows? I also LOVE my Darkspawn Chronicles AU where Kallian and Nelaros are a happy, married couple each hiding their skills with weapons from each other like dumb, cute sweethearts. They shelter Zevran when he fails to kill Alistair and a poly couple evolves. for DA:2/E, I love the IDEA of a Seb romance that isn’t so strictly conditional around the structures that abused him -- he should be allowed to love, chastely or otherwise, but free from the Chantry OR his position as prince/heir. I’d LOVE to actually have a romance with him where you can actually challenge the abuse he’s experienced. for DA:I, Malika doesn’t have a canon romance (although I think when I replay, I’m going to romance Josephine!) but I think Blackwall has an amazing romance. Solas’ is also iconic, it must be said. 

My NOTP: for DA:O, I really dislike Alistair in a shipping capacity; he’s immature and says a lot of misogynistic shit and I don’t think he’s the worst for it, but I don’t really vibe with shipping him, having played the game as a female city elf. for DA:2/E, I wouldn’t say I have one, particularly? although I really dislike Aveline’s relationship with her husband simply because it seems incredibly inappropriate, given that they work together and she has power over him -- and because I dislike her, generally, I don’t feel inclined to do something nice for her. for DA:I, I suppose Sera/Lavellan -- although I’m not AGAINST it, it just really isn’t for me, having attempted it. I also don’t really vibe with Dorian x Iron Bull. Something abt the way the game handled BDSM and their relationship banter specifically I don’t really like.

Favourite episode quest: for DA:O, probs Orzammar/the Deep Roads. I really love the dwarven lore! and, of course, Fort Drakon is really funny, even though it’s not canon in my game iirc. for DA:2/E, maybe the murder mystery with the serial killer, where ultimately Leandra dies? I also really enjoyed all the companion quests. for DA:I, The Descent (just, all of it, lmao) and everything to do with the Avvar. Crestwood also BANGED.

Saddest death: for DA:O, it’s frankly a fucking INJUSTICE that Shianni gets murdered if you make her Bann of the Alienage -- the idea of that happening whilst Kallian is in Amaranthine and unable to protect her :( genuinely very upsetting. I go back and forth on who is made Bann, tbf, so idk how canonical it is: I think maybe Cyrion would get it, but I’m also endeared to Soris holding the position, with Shianni as Hahren. for DA:2/E, Bethany. I wish both twins had had the chance to reach Kirkwall :(. Let Leandra die instead. for DA:I, maybe not the saddest death, but the most memorable for me was that one sleeping dragon in the Hissing Wastes.. leave her alone. Stay out of a womans’ business.

Favourite season game: DA:O!

Character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but I hate: for DA:O, Alistair. I cannot deal with his complacency and hypocrisy. for DA:2, I really disliked Merrill but I honestly cannot remember why. DEFINITELY Varric -- I hated how the game forces you to be his best friend, and if you’re low approval, you have to endure these pointless pissy little comments with this little anti-dwarf centrist pissant. After the expedition, I literally have no reason to put up with him, and I NEVER take him out. I hate that he plays the same role in DA:I, too. for DA:I, the Iron Bull was hugely disappointing, and I also really don’t vibe with Cassandra. She just seems very wishy-washy and complacent and hypocritical, and many of her comments about other cultures seem snide for literally no reason other than bigotry. 

My ‘you’re a piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: for DA:O, lbr probably Sten. Mans is gonna launch a HORRIFYING invasion in the next game iirc and frankly, I’m ok with it. Just wanna see that big bastard again ❤🥵. for DA:2/E, I LOVE Gamlen, ok? for DA:I, I am not sure if I have one.

My ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: for DA:O, if any of you so much as LOOK at Velanna wrong, it’s hands. That includes Bioware. I also feel incredibly protective of and sad for Morrigan. for DA:2/E, probably Sebastian -- I feel so sad for him, and so frustrated by the limitations with the game. for DA:I, I’m honestly not sure.. maybe Josephine? I don’t really feel this way about Sera, but I do think she deserves better from the game and its writing, and also from fandom: there are valid criticisms of her, but the hate she gets is not proportional to any valid issues with her -- and gee, I wonder why that is.

My ‘this ship is wrong, nasty, and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but i still love it’ ship: for DA:O, I did use to find Cullen x Surana/Amell intriguing as a dark ship -- I actually hc that Neria Surana is actually Nelaros’ sister, and have dabbled with it as a dark ship. I also am interested in Loghain/Alistair - which each pretends the other is someone else. Alistair is wooby, hate ships are, in general, fun -- so long as we acknowledge that they are, indeed, unhealthy ships. for DA:2/E, I kind of feel like Sebastian romances are, invariably, kind of dark... and, similarly, Anders romances -- especially with certain red Hawkes, The way it ends is, invariably, bordering on fucked up. ALSO Hawkecest is weird and wonderful: GET WITH IT. 

My ‘they’re kind of cute, and I lowkey ship them, but I’m not too invested’ ship: for DA:O, I joked about Velanna x Leliana once and I’ve not been able to stop thinking about it ever since… Velanna x Sigrun is also something that can be so personal. Ariane x Finn is adorable and are paid DUST by Bioware AND fandom. I actually am really into Anora x Nathaniel & NO I will NOT explain myself; it’s a crackship but it’s MY crackship. for DA:2/E, Isabela x Fenris is super cute, but I don’t pay enough attention to them to really have super committed thoughts & feelings on them. for DA:I, Blackwall x Josephine is cute as a background ship; I also think Maryden x Cole is sweet.

1. Who kissed who first?

Light kissed L first, as part of a scheme. And Light’s a good actor, sure, but he was a little more into it than he would like to admit. Meanwhile L was the first one to kiss Light with genuine feeling. That too was a calculated powerplay, but the feeling was still sincere.

2. What do they like the most about each other?

They’re big fucking sapiosexuals. Light writes real Byronic romanticism into all of L’s awkward features because his intelligence and ruthlessness make Light wet. L meanwhile wouldn’t care if Light was a bridge troll with twice the stank so long as he still had his voice. L loves his wit, his smarts, but he also loves the wicked fakeness in Light he can see straight through. It makes Light his own little secret because no one else notices.

3. Who tends to worry the most?

Light has back up plans A through Z-23. He’s always got a second strategy up his sleeve. He likes watching all his perfectly laid dominoes fall into place. L meanwhile has enough confidence in his intelligence that he assumes he will succeed first time and, if he doesn’t, that’s exciting and he thrills in the chance to wing it with real stakes.

4. Who is more inclined to be jealous or possessive?

Light is used to being the centre of attention. He likes having people fawn over him. L knows these people don’t interest Light at all, not really, but it still irritates him when they get too forward and Light smiles all cute. L likes to shut that down very quickly and Light sulks for a second before he revels in L being possessive.

Light, meanwhile, isn’t used to people expressing an attraction to L and it makes him seethe. “No, my L.” He grumbles plotting their demise. L often doubts the sincerity of people who show attraction to him. He’s not trying to be attractive after all. And, even if they are genuine, they’re dull so….

5. How do they resolve their arguments?

They don’t often sincerely disagree but if they do there are stages to an L/Light argument. First there’s the bitching and insulting, then there’s the elaborate backstabbing, then there’s the furious angry sex, then they actually sit down and talk like adults for 5 minutes. Once the issue is resolved they rinse, lather and repeat with something new.

6. Who is the most physically affectionate?

L doesn’t seem like a physical person but he likes to touch. He likes to feel close. He’ll stroke Light like a cat and Light will melt. Light sometimes hesitates to get physical.

7. Do they give each other nicknames?

They have a few epitaphs that are filled with admiration but nicknames? They usually only break them out when they’re having a covert fight in public or if they’re trying to have degrading sex.

8. What do they do when the other is stressed?

L rarely gets work stress. His stress is often more personally based. Light isn’t always quite sure how to reach him when he clams up but Light is nothing is not patient/stubborn. He’s always there when L is ready.

L likes to be proactive with Light stress. If he can solve Light’s problem by throwing money at it he won’t hesitate. Money is replaceable, Light is not. He’s also keen to strategize but sometimes Light is worked up over problems he’s inventing and L needs to call him on his bullshit. Which gets him the cold shoulder for a day before any thanks.

9. Thoughts on PDA(Public Displays of Affection)?

L would fuck Light in front of an audience if he got the all clear. Light meanwhile doesn’t enjoy PDA. He has too many considerations about how others are perceiving him and what it impacts to really relax. Exhibitionism though? Weeeeell that’s a little different. Sneaky fucking in public can be fun.

10. Thoughts on kids?

Light is not keen to have children. They don’t suit him. L has the Wammy’s extended family so he rarely sees the need for more family.

11. Thoughts on each other’s family?

Light loves Wammy’s and he gets very involved as Watari gets older. Light is the one who remembers to send gifts and congratulations for ever life event for the other orphans. L finds Light’s family a little pedantic but they’re harmless and playing nice with them keeps Light happy.

12. Favorite family member of their lover? (Example: Lover 1 enjoys Lover 2’s mother the most)

L will say Soichiro is his favourite because Light adores his father but secretly L likes Ryuk the most. He feels the most authentically connected to Light, knows the real him, and is the kind of creature L would choose to spend recreational time with.

Light will say Mello is his favourite and they’ll gossip like high school girls, send each other stupid presents, laugh like cats. But deep down Light thinks the most of Near. Near is harder to control or manipulate but Light sees more in Near he values and respects.

13. Who will punch someone out if they are rude to their partner?

Light doesn’t punch. If Light doesn’t like you it would be best to take out a life insurance policy. L meanwhile is petty as fuck. If someone insults Light, in a genuinely cruel way, L’s not above trashing their career and their credit score systematically.

14. Who loves kids more?

L is more at ease with random children. Light makes a good show of it but he’s internally quite uncomfortable. Light needs to bond with a specific child before he can really unwind. L is just used to an unending stream of orphans so he’s got chill big brother energy.

15. Who is the hopeless romantic?

They both love a romantic gesture. They’re both real drama queens. Light will go medieval about it “here are the hearts of your enemies” whereas L is more 1950s black and white movies about it “I bought us both plane tickets to Monaco, don’t pack a bag, you won’t need it”

16. Who is the one that sees the big picture, while the other focus’s on the small details?

They’re both very detailed focused. But L is more relaxed about what long term looks like. Light meanwhile will plan the next forty years if you leave him alone for 2hrs.

17. What is an inside joke they have?

Ryuk is one huge inside joke. They both communicate with Ryuk while other people are around in really sneaky ways and they’ll make comments about him to each other in front of people. |

“I’m so glad you’re home. The ghost and I used all the wifi while you were gone.” Light will say.

The urge for a cigarette wakes him.

It’s not unusual for him to smoke a few times in the night, the need for nicotine breaking through even his most pleasant slumber. It irritates him on occasion, the inability to get through a night undisturbed. His ragamuffins would probably appreciate him in the mornings more after a full night spent in dreams. Though, he thinks, as he sits up and reaches for the pack sitting on his bedside table, reality is currently a lot better than any damn dream.

Reality is standing in front of the window, her silhouette illuminated by the wan moonlight shining through the grimy glass. If he was a romantic sap (which, on the very rare occasion, he just might be), he would say she looks like a goddess, like beauty incarnate come down from the Heavens to make men fall to their knees in awestruck worship. And then probably cut them all down where they kneel, he thinks with a smirk. She may be a goddess of beauty, but with her beauty comes unrepentant destruction. A rose covered in thorns, soft yet deadly, feminine yet with the power to strike you down and make you bleed.

He’s never been afraid of seeing his own blood.

“What’s on your mind, Prickly Queen?” He asks, bringing the now lit cigarette to his mouth.

“Nothing really,” she says, and the softness of her voice tugs lightly at his heartstrings. There once was a time he would not have dared to think he would hear it like this, quiet and laced with sleep. He treasures it. “I woke up for a drink of water, that’s all.”

She sets the cup in her hand down on the windowsill and turns towards the bed, wrinkling her nose slightly at the sight of smoke escaping from between chapped lips. “Must you do that in bed?”

He snorts. “My hideout, my rules.”

She scoffs, but the corners of her mouth tug up slightly. “I seem to recall saying something similar to you every time you spend the night in my bed, and I just get a face full of smoke as a response.”

He shrugs. “Why would I get up when I’m already comfy in bed? Take me as I am or leave me, Prickly Queen.”

(She’s always taken him for who he is. There’s few who have).

She tries to fight her smile but she’s failing. Her lips quirk up further. “Perhaps I should start up too, then. We can smoke in bed together.”

He laughs outright, the offending object swinging precariously from his lips. “Yeah right, the day I see you smoking is the day that no magic idiot remembers to restock the toilet paper.”

She gives up on her stern mouth, a full smile blooms across her face. After years of tight lipped glares and angry stares, it never fails to make his heart falter slightly.

“You got me,” she dances towards the bed, her blue nightgown swishing around her like a waterfall of silk. He reaches for her, hands settling on her hips as she climbs into his lap. Even after all these months he is still surprised by how unburdened and bold she is when it’s just the two of them. How free she can be with her feelings and affections. Of course, his tsun tsun princess still exists at times (especially with intense teasing from his end), but where would the fun be if she left?

“I’ll never take up such a filthy habit,” she continues, hands trailing up his bare chest. “Only a moronic meathead of a man would subject his lungs to such abuse.”

(Ah, the “man” insults. Now said with exasperated affection instead of scorn. He’ll take it.)

She plucks the near dead cigarette from his lips and tosses it onto the ashtray beside him. He opens his mouth to protest but the look she’s wearing silences him.

“Besides,” her eyes are growing dark, and her lips are bending into that smile that makes things below the belt twitch in excitement. “If I want to taste smoke, I’ve got a much more pleasant way of doing so.”

He anticipates her kiss and meets her halfway, a dance perfected over the months they’ve belonged to each other. There was a time when he never would have believed this possible, when he had bet his chips on secretly pining for the cold and sharp rose from a far. When he thought the idea of him brought her nothing but disdain. When both of them were stupid, scared, oblivious idiots.

(Good thing he was often a shit gambler.)

She tugs on his hair, impatient. He laughs into her mouth, shaking himself out of his thoughts. “You in a hurry?“

She tugs harder and his eyes roll back slightly. “Stop talking, idiot.”

He flips them so fast she squeals in surprise. “Hey, I’m the one who gives the orders around here.” He nips lightly at her throat, enjoying the way it makes her squirm beneath him.

“Is your mouth only good for cigarettes and talking nonsense?” She tries to say sternly, but his hands have already started wandering and it comes out rather breathy.

He grins a shit eating grin against her pounding pulse. “You know it isn’t.”

“Then hurry up before I throw the rest of those awful things in the trash.”

(An empty threat, but he’s nothing but a devout worshiper of his Prickly Queen. So he obeys.)

Some time later he lights another very unconfiscated cigarette and she half heartedly complains as she lounges against his chest, drowsy and sated. He just laughs, his own buzz mixing pleasantly with the tobacco and the feel of her.

“You love it,” he teases gently, fingers stroking languidly over her skin.

“I love you,” she yawns, and her eyes close. “Filthy habits and all.”

He presses a kiss to her head and squeezes her tight, his own declaration that he knows she understands. He takes another drag as she slowly begins to slip into the bliss of sleep.

“Goodnight, Yami,” she murmurs.

“Goodnight, Charlotte,” he blows the smoke into the air, and watches it lazily drift into the velvet night.

Tom's >:c God, I could write a whole freakin essay about how Tom deserves more and deserves better and how narratively unsatisfying and just wrong his death was, tbh. Like, even as sad as Sara's death makes me (and the mission and her funeral do make me cry every time I replay them) at least Sara's death made sense and felt earned. Tom's did not. I'm still unhappy and angry about it and it's one of the only deaths I actively reject in ZR canon. It shouldn't have happened.

Would totally write it, if requested, but don’t ship it. Hii! I am also a rivamika shipper and omG I love all of your fanfictions! They are so well written and I smile whenever i read one of them. From ur fics, Im guessing rivamika is ur OTP? But- I have been so inspired by ur fics that I want to write my own Rivamika fanfictions, but my writing is nowhere near as good as urs. Do you have any tips on how I can improve?

Thank you so much for your message! It makes me so happy to know that other people enjoy my fics. There's really nothing better when you're reading a story and the feels hit and you've just got this big grin on your face, so that's the feeling I try to go for when I write.

I would say strictly based on the sheer volume of fic I've written, Rivamika is definitely my OTP. I've had other OTPs in the past but I'd never published much fanfiction for them because I tended to join fandoms well past their peak, but there's a definite theme in all of my shipping adventures: a talented but difficult man and the equally talented woman who sees through his bullshit. (I was really into House/Cuddy from House MD back before the show made them canon and then sunk the ship into the Mariana fucking Trench in like 8 episodes. Everyone, please count your blessings that Rivamika isn't canon.)

As for improving your writing... I'm going to try not to write a novel about this because I have Many Feelings About Writing. First off I would caution you not to compare yourself to other writers, but rather look at them as sources of inspiration and emulation. (Mainly I just feel weird when younger fic writers compare themselves to me, since I have an extensive background in writing and editing, I've read a ton, I studied writing in college, and during my last fandom hiatus I got into live comedy and wrote multiple sketch and variety shows as well as a whole-ass play. One of the reasons why I'm as good as I am is because I've been doing this for so long.)

The very unsexy but true answer is that good writing is born from discipline and developing your own practice. Every creative writing teacher I've had has said something along the lines of, "I cannot teach you how to write. I can give you tools and the opportunity to workshop your writing, but you have to figure out the writing process that works best for you." Some people are more productive in the morning or at night; you might write longhand, on your phone, or on a computer; you might start writing with only inspiration to guide you or you might outline extensively before you start. You have to figure out which of these methods work best for you and figure out how to schedule time to write. (Personally, I write mostly at night, I outline extensively, and I take notes on my phone whenever inspiration strikes me because I know I'm going to lose the idea unless I write it down immediately. It's taken years of trial and error to get to this point. My process is still pretty haphazard but it's what works for me.)

To write well, you have to write a whole lot of shit first. It's just a fact; my first drafts are absolute trash and I hate them a lot of the time, but I try not to get discouraged because it's just a skeleton of the final product. You're probably not going to like what you write at first, but all that means is that your skill level doesn't match your taste level yet. If you let that piece of writing sit for a while and come back to it after you've done more reading and more writing days or weeks later, you'll be able to better identify what you don't like and be able to fix it. Ideally you want to do some kind of writing every day or close to it, whether that's writing down an idea in your notes app, scribbling in a notebook on your lunch break, dedicating yourself to a practice of morning pages, or something similar. Even spacing out and thinking about your story can be productive, but only if you write down what you come up with.

Aside from discipline, being a well-rounded writer boils down to developing several core skills:

Reading: You want to read everything you can get your hands on — and I mean everything. The goal is to train yourself to identify writing that you like and to be able to explain why you like it, then employ those devices and concepts in your own writing. Even if you're only planning on writing fiction, there's still amazing writing to be found in nonfiction. (Food writing and travel writing in particular tend to be very evocative in their descriptions.) I also take inspiration from poetry for its impactful use of language. The more you read, the more ideas and stories and references you'll be aware of, and you'll be able to pull inspiration from a wider breadth of resources. If you're still in school, learning critical reading in your literature classes applies here: being able to identify themes, character traits, tropes, rhetorical and literary devices, etc. will help you develop your own preferences and taste.

Researching: I use a dictionary and thesaurus whenever I write. I have a whole folder on my computer of writing resources I've compiled over the years. I google things all the time, even really dumb stuff or basic facts just so I'm certain that I got it right. I think the old adage of "write what you know" doesn't mean that you can only write based on your life experience; rather, you can teach yourself about all kinds of subjects and write about them with a degree of certainty without having directly experienced them yourself. For example, when I write fanfiction with a Rivamika baby, I figure out what I need the kid to do (walk, say cute things, etc.) and then research infant development to see how old the child needs to be in order for these things to be realistic. I once got some feedback on Inexorable that Hana was written like a real child, which made me feel amazing because at the time I was literally never around babies. However, I was able to draw on my limited past experiences with other people's kids and my own research to portray a young toddler somewhat accurately.

Editing: It is a massively helpful skill to be able to read your own writing and approach it with a distant, critical eye. I worked on my high school and college newspapers and learned how to edit other people's writing that way. (Beta reading is a good way to practice this skill.) Being edited at the paper also taught me to stop being possessive over my own writing, even when I thought it was brilliant. Writing is about conveying ideas to another person, usually a total stranger, which means clarity is ultimately more important than adding artistic flourishes. I've also recently started using the Grammarly plugin for basic grammar stuff that I tend to forget. This also ties in with reading; the more you read, the more you'll be able to identify and replicate more effective writing, and the easier time you'll have identifying deficiencies in your own writing.

I've written enough already (I wasn't kidding about the novel) so I'll close with one last tip that is universally helpful: read your writing out loud. Most of the time, you can figure out what you want to say simply by verbalizing it or you'll realize, "Oh, no one talks like this, I would have said X in this situation" and that'll help you write more clearly and realistically.

OHOHOHOHO I LOVE THE CHANCE TO TALK ABOUT—

I honestly do enjoy his design and his cosmetics, regardless of everyone's complaints they're bright. Even if they're default bright, it isn't as though there aren't hideously bright cosmetics for other characters in the game. Plus with as much as they're brightening up the maps, it'll be easier for Trickster mains to actually camouflage especially in the corn.

My least favorite thing about the character actually has little to do with Ji-Woon himself. I'm certainly not as up-to-date as others nor do I possess encyclopedic knowledge on the subject but I've been obsessed with understanding and learning about the darker aspect of east Asian idol culture for well over a dozen years. And to some degree, even if the backstories for Ji-Woon and Yun-Jin are a bit more extreme example, I do appreciate that the devs didn't shy away from trying to show some of that messy, darker reality that permeates idol culture. But I don't necessarily know if it was the best move to then make money off of that. I get it, BHVR's prerogative is to make money. But it still feels somewhat ham-fisted and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Again though, me squinting at the devs and not anything against the character, so.

BROTP: hmm. I don't think most other Killers would be inclined to befriend him, and I'm not sure most Survivors would either? But I will say I've seen some of @drowsy-dreamwalker and @idol-trickster 's interactions circulating the tags and my mutuals' blogs, and I really enjoy how natural their interactions come across, so you could sell me on that!

OTP: I don't really have anyone I ship him with, but I suppose he's kind of in the category for me where for example, if I see someone who makes a Survivor OC and ships them with him and I get to see all the love and development put into the ship, I'll be all over that goodness!

NOTP: Again, I don't really have anyone I do ship him with and I don't really like most options in-game, but especially not with Yun-Jin.

Random headcanon: Mild sensory issues regarding touch, predominantly concerned with various fabrics and accessories coming into contact with his skin. Will absolutely be a prima donna about it, too.

Unpopular opinion: I know it's pretty fun to consider Ji-Woon and Danny hanging out, but they're both very much spotlight narcissists. Even if they interacted amicably enough on first meeting, I think it'd very quickly go south. Even if it manifests a bit differently for each of them, Ji-Woon and Danny are both spotlight narcissists and imo, are far more likely to develop a mild rivalry as they realize they're each other's biggest competition for attention.

Song that reminds me of them: Not recommended for anyone who doesn't handle metal very well but Beast Within by In This Moment was the first thing that came into my head as I read through his backstory when the All-Kill chapter dropped.

For fanart, my favorite pic of him is a GIF piece by @stabbyhandsmcmike where Ji-Woon has his elbows on a table, sitting pretty and blinking all innocent as you please. As for official images, my favorite has to be this GIF!

I'm not the biggest fan of this Killer trailer but the sheer energy and motion in these frames is exquisite and I did end up saving this GIF to my phone. It has a level of self-confidence and untouchable sass that few other reaction images can match quite right.
