What's inside your Fake Peppino?
I wanted to show how clone tongues are stored inside them, but then it turned into a full anatomy diagram kjfgkj - I was gonna make one for Peppiclones too, but that would have been redundant since they are the same thing, just in a smaller package kdfggdsfg
More info under cut - but be warned bc I am not a science man, even if I try to base it on real stuff kfgdsg - it's also a wacky cartoon world so it doesn't have to make real life sense
This is also a 'standard' clone, so other clones with additional DNA might have extra organs or whatever
Please also note there are mentions of body horror, injury, death, sexual reproduction, and vomit (phrased as 'regurgitation') but nothing graphic
All aspects of a clone are made of the same material - a highly malleable dough-like matter - just in different forms or densities. Clone matter can take on most properties, turning from liquid to solid in seconds, and even mimic different textures or colours, but they will always return to its default state after some time - although the default state can be altered via a clone's own desires, an overabundance or a lack of food, trauma or another outside influence.
The Membrane, or the 'skin', is the outermost layer and gives a clone their structure. It is around 3–4 inches (7-10cm) thick, thinner around the hands, eyes and orifices, and thicker around the organs - the thickest the membrane will get is if a clone develops a pouch, which is around 6–7 inches (15-17cm) thick, protecting any offspring inside. The membrane is fairly resilient - most damage simply bouncing off it - but it still can be cut/punctured/etc, causing a clone to 'ooze' (the equivalent of bleeding), but this is quickly healed dependent on damage taken, and how much 'blood' they have.
The membrane is quite porous, and a clone is able to absorb things through it - although this is more prominent for newborn clones, as they have yet to learn how to eat properly, and their membrane is not as thick. Liquids can pass through the membrane easily, but solid matter requires some time.
The 'Blood' (for lack of a better term) is not actually blood, but a more-liquid form of clone matter. It is full of nutrients and keeps a clone healthy. Anything digested by a clone is turned into this fluid and then predominantly used as an energy source for a clone. If there is an abundance of food, clones will continue to store this fluid inside them until required - this also causes the membrane of a clone to expand to accommodate this, making them larger as a result.
Alternatively, if a clone is injured severely causing excessive 'oozing' or experiencing a lack of food, and is using up 'blood' reserves, the membrane will shrink around the fluid, making them smaller - or if they are loosing a lot of 'blood' quickly, they will just lose their shape, appearing to 'deflate'.
The 'blood' is also used as other bodily fluids, as saliva and tears etc, and changes viscosity as needed.
The Brain is possibly the most important part of a clone, as it tells all other parts what to do. If the brain is destroyed, or severely damaged or starved, a clone will be killed. Although it is commonplace for clones to toss their heads around as projectiles, leaving their brains exposed - they are not very smart... But it also can be a sign a clone trusts someone, if they feel comfortable enough to have their brains exposed for long periods of time, and some clones even swap heads as a bonding experience.
The Brain 'Legs' are not actually 'legs' but part of a clone's nervous system. These were named after the fact that if a clone is in a dire situation, the brain and main nerve will eject itself from the body as a 'last resort' type of escape and 'run' on these 'legs', akin to a beetle or other bug. The brain will either have to return to the body when it is safe, or find a new source of clone matter, as the brain will starve without a stomach and 'blood' after about an hour of leaving the body. The 'legs' also help keep the tongue in place, so it is not caught in the 'blood' flow and end up stuck inside.
The teeth are the only 'bones' in a clone's body, but they are also the same dough matter as everything else - they are just in a very solid state. Mostly, used for chewing and tearing food as it is faster to ingest (and while most can swallow things whole, this can leave a clone vulnerable as it takes longer to ingest and then digest). A clone's teeth are also a main part of the threat display, usually opening their mouths wide and baring these teeth, often forming a secondary set behind the first and making them appear sharper. A clone that shows their teeth excessively, or 'smiles' a lot, is often seen as an aggressor and should be avoided.
The tongue is a primary sensory organ for a clone, used in conjunction with their sense of smell to find food or figure out what is nearby. The tongue is very long - typically almost the length of a clone's body - and it is fully prehensile, acting as an additional limb. The tongue can be projected out of the mouth at quick speeds, but it is slower to retract, depending on if they are bringing something back, and how heavy that thing is etc. Tongues are also important in clone behaviours, with clones bonding over grooming/licking each other (or favourite person/thing), and tongues hanging out of their mouths as a sign to show they are relaxed, or if combine with excessive drooling and/or lip licking, so show they are submissive and not a threat.
The 'crop' is a smaller stomach that precedes the main stomach, although it is not able to digest anything, and is often used as a storage space of sorts - much like a bird's crop, hence the name. Food must pass through the crop to get to the stomach, so the crop can expand to accommodate large meals passing through.
The 'Heart' is not a heart, but does function similarly, as it pumps the 'blood' around the body, and keeps everything moving. The movement of the 'blood' generates heat and keeps a clone warm - the faster the 'heart' pumps and the fluid moves, the warmer a clone is, and the slower the process is, the cooler a clone is. A clone's heart can stop if required - i.e. if a clone is overheated - but if the process is stopped for too long, a clone can become unwell as the nutritious 'blood' becomes stagnant, and a clone can even begin to solidify entirely if left too long.
The Stomach is the second most important part of a clone, as it is the only organ to create new clone matter from food. The stomach can expand to around five times its size if needed, but most clones opt for smaller and more frequent meals, as trying to digest a large meal takes more effort and can leave a clone vulnerable. The stomach can digest most organic matter, and some non-organic if they happen to swallow any - but if it can not be digested it will simply stay within the stomach, until it is regurgitated - a clone can starve to death with a full stomach if it is filled with non-digestible items.
Digestion can begin instantly - although some clones choose to stave off the digestion process in order to regurgitate it later for offspring or others in need. Everything digested is turned into clone matter, and absorbed directly into the 'blood' from the stomach. Clones do not produce any waste product, everything is used.
The reproductive organs - well, I am sure you can imagine what these are used for - although most clones have offspring via budding, so these are mostly just for pleasure, bonding or stress/tension relief
The 'Spinal Nerve' or the 'Main Nerve' is the largest nerve in the body and connects all other nerves and the brain together - although not shown on these images, there are many nerves all over the body, which are what make a clone able to feel sensations
(I did draw a version with the nervous system visible, but I did not like it, so you will have to use your imagination ksgksd - it's pretty much like a human's, just made of dough)

more fakemon for the underground. catch up on that over here.
Slugmold Grass This pile of slimy mold resembles Slugma, despite living in totally different environments. As it moves, it leaves behind a trail of slippery slime that digests anything living.
Moldcargo Grass/Poison Despite its resemblance to Magcargo, Moldcargo live happy lives in the River Caverns. It reacts incredibly favorably to being sprayed with fresh water, but salt water causes it to recoil and shrink in on itself. Its body is comprised entirely of slimy mold.
Neosis Water/Ghost Upon hatching, this small creature coats itself in a watery shell. Apparently, this is because Neosis hasn't finished growing, and uses the water as a sort of nutrient gel. It looks remarkably similar to Solosis.
Neosion Water/Ghost While its tail and head have definitely grown, its limbs and eyes have begun to atrophy. It floats around in an amniotic sac of water, as its lungs have yet to properly form. Its resemblance to Duosion is a mere coincidence.
Neocleus Water/Ghost It floats around the Marsh Caverns blindly, absorbing anything it sees into its water to replace its underdeveloped parts. Some say the water is held together by spirits that were captured this way. Puncturing the water bubble will cause Neocleus to chase you down and attempt to drown you.
Peratrox Fairy It commands the much smaller Meowths to act as its vassals. With a deafening roar like an enormous bell, it summons all Fairy-type Pokemon in the vicinity to its side. They are highly territorial, and when a member of their court gets injured, they lead massive hunts against the trespasser.
Carnivenus Grass/Dark Due to the low light and waterlogged soil of the Marsh Caverns, Carnivenus needs more than just insects to survive. To help in this, it can manipulate its vines with great dexterity to set up all sorts of traps that are impossible to see in the gloom.
Octillery (Cavern Form) Water/Rock The pressures of the Underground have made Octillery a meek and cautious species. Octillery from the Underground will hide in anything they can find nearby, from foliage to pottery to cracks in rocks.
Olmtimatum Psychic/Electric Olmtimatum bury themselves at the bottom of deep pools in deep, meditative trances. It only awakens to eat, and only catches the food it predicts it does by electric shocks. As such, it never misses a meal, and never fails a hunt.
Goodra (Cavern Form) Dragon/Psychic After untold years living in the darkest, dampest caves, Goodra has eschewed the use of its eyes. In the process, it developed keen psychic abilities. It uses its psychic powers as a radar system to locate predator and prey alike and slinks through the tunnel systems it calls home as it pleases.

here’s a master list for character facts/traits about my oc/sona. i’d like to preface this by saying that some of these things are not true to me as mun, and that this is for fictional lore purposes.
CW for SA trauma, childhood trauma, self-harm, and spiritual beliefs.
aggressively people pleasing, when she cares and loves someone she’ll go to no end to take care of them. it’s severely damaging to her mental health sometimes. she’s gotten hurt by an ex in the past from giving too much, he decided to use her kind naivety to manipulate her instead.
has 3 other siblings, 2 older sisters and a younger brother- she is the second youngest.
her two older sisters did not get along growing up after childhood, they’d constantly bicker and argue. morgan was picked on a lot by one of her sisters, making her feel insecure. her brother and her weren’t really close, they’d occasionally hang out but were distant.
middle school and high school were very difficult times in her life, she met her abusive ex outside of school while in her sophomore year. her only friend since middle school left her to hangout with others instead. her parents were fairly neglectful to what was happening so she only could rely on her ex for support.
she feels the need to prove her worth, unintentionally hiding her feelings of pain and anger. she doesn’t know how to process emotions properly and can seem dull and quiet sometimes due to her constant overthinking and spacing out. it takes a lot to actively piss her off, but once she is it’s intense and usually short lived. (think of it like a match)
has severe daddy issues, due to the lack of attention and care he had for her mom or siblings. she favors her mother significantly more then her father, having feelings of anger and resentment towards him. growing up he had misogynistic and toxic catholic views and standards for her, her siblings, and their mother.
her mom worked as a manager at a mental health facility, making her barely have time to care of morgan or her siblings. her dad would have to watch her and her siblings but did a pretty bad job at it. morgan’s mom relied on her to help take care of her siblings and dad when out working, teaching her a lot about domestic duties and mental health issues.
has a big fear of small closed spaces (closets, spaces to crawl through, underneath cabinets) due to the fact that when she was a child her father locked her inside of a small room and forgot when he passed out drunk and angry. the experience was extremely scary for her and no one was home to get her out for hours, to this day she won’t go into any spaces that she feels are too tight.
has a fear of the dark, doesn’t like to be in a room or place that has zero lighting at all. her eyes and brain trick her into seeing things and blur out and get staticky. she prefers to sleep with a night light or the tv on.
struggles with a disorganized attachment style.
is pretty impulsive and has a lack of self control.
clumsy, has a hard time keeping balance and occasionally bumps into things accidentally.
is a terrible liar, her facial expressions and mannerisms almost always reveal the fact that she is.
has a bad habit of talking to herself when she’s alone, has and probably will continue making the mistake of doing it when others are close.
experiences intense mood swings sometimes due to her PMDD- can laugh, cry, get mad, and feel hopeless all in the span of an hour depending on the time of the month.
prefers not to yell but when she does/has to it’s loud and sharp.
struggles with OCD and intrusive thoughts on a daily basis, also anxiety and depression.
is anemic and malnourished, her body has a hard time properly absorbing nutrients. (almost always seen with bruises somewhere on her)
she fantasies what it’d be like to die, to just finally give in to fate and let go- also has thought about what it’d be like to hurt someone just for fun. sometimes when she’s alone at night she’ll log into the deep web to look at graphic images and scroll past occasional snuff streams. she feels really bad about it but understands the worlds an unjust place, just sometimes can’t help but give in to her morbid curiosity.
she’s a sadomascochist, leaning more on the masochist side.
has a delayed pain response, taking a few seconds longer for the sensation to register.
has a pretty flexible body, not a contortionist or anything but she has long legs and arms that stretch far.
if given the chance she’d love to see what her skeleton, guts, muscles, look like- but she’s too scared to follow through with trying to see for herself so she just fantasizes it.
has a collection of sharp pretty small knifes she keeps in a purple velvet case.
regularly goes thrifting, getting second hand things- had to when younger and learned to love the used and cared for feel to things she’s thrifted.
hears whispers or voices sometimes, is paranoid and thinks somethings out to get her- also believes it’s spirits or whispers of past experiences occurring in the present.
usually just doesn’t have a good sense of memory, sometimes she remembers things very well and other times it’s all just lost to the void. (remembers what people like, don’t like, has trouble remembering certain plans or steps for things)
her ex in the past has used her insecurities and declining mental state for his benefit when she was younger. he would give her intoxicants and sexually assault/do things that messed with her head. they were together for 3 years before she finally decided to leave. he threatened her if she’d ever go to the police for what he’s done, has cursed him but still feels a lack of closure.
has a hard time trusting others but still craves love and affection despite her past. if she had to depend on someone she’d feel a bit relieved, but also restless and worried- constantly asking what she could do to help so she wouldn’t feel like a burden, feels unworthy and pathetic if not of service in some way. words of affirmation and reassurance go a long way with her.
when in extremely difficult or scary situations she dissociates, runs on autopilot for awhile. she’s developed this trauma response in order to deal with some heavy stuff she’s been through in her life. it’s hard for her to think or react properly when she gets like this though.
has the habit of running a bath for herself just so she can cut her upper thighs and watch the blood, the feeling and sight of the deep red shade is relaxing to her. has some of her blood kept in bottles with anticoagulants just to look at when bored.
frequents cemeteries to collect graveyard dirt, likes to sit and meditate under nearby trees just to try and clear her head.
likes different types of smells both pleasant and rotting. (smells like scat, urine, and vomit are off the table though)
her favorite flowers are hydrangeas, the blue ones remind her of the ones she used to have growing up by her house.
almost always seen outside of her home decently dressed with makeup on, doesn’t feel confident or put together without it.
has powers/abilities from a faint lineage of witch’s she didn’t know she’s originated from. (the weather sometimes changes around her depending on what’s emotionally impacting her life.)
has an affinity for feminine vintage type things since she grew up in a small town populated mostly by old people.
keeps miscellaneous herbs and spices in her kitchen and bedroom cabinets. (if you get the chance to explore you’ll see things like crushed egg shells, apple wood, moss, animal bones, sea shells, bird feathers, etc.)
has shifted to a reality in her sleep she likes to call “the edge,” it’s a distorted surreal type of place. she doesn’t know how or why she goes there, occasionally voices whisper to her but she forgets what they say when she wakes up.
she’s easily startled, if someone closes a door or sneezes too hard or something near her she gasps and jumps. things like that do occasionally upset her and she gets teary eyed.
has an immense sweet tooth and was taught how to bake and cook by her mother.
has sharp teeth, not like shark type of teeth but her molars and canines are sharp.
twirls her hair around her fingers or fidgets with her hands or clothing when she’s anxious to self soothe.
voice claim would be agnes from fantastic mr fox.

Top 4 Nutritional Products for Losing Weight
Tumblr media
Diet culture makes us feel that the only way to lose weight is to binge on a lot of fancy "superfoods," and food is only healthy if it is carb-free, gluten-free, or even better, dairy-free. Such is not the case, since most individuals can't precisely make such diets work properly for themselves. You are likely considerably better off investing your efforts in consuming more of the correct meals to help you lose that weight. We chatted with two nutritionists to obtain their choices for things to put in your shopping basket to achieve exactly that. These nine meals contain full fiber and protein yet are lower in calories—a combination that makes it easier to lose weight without feeling deprived. Read on for these choices from nutritionists.
1. Salad Greens
Tumblr media
Upping your v1getable consumption is a wonderful place to start when attempting to lose weight or become healthy in general, says Jessica Ball, M.S., RD, a registered dietitian and EatingWell's nutrition editor. It is a smart habit to include a side salad with a meal since it will help you feel full and contribute towards fiber and nutritional demands in your eating pattern. Leafy greens—such as spinach, kale, collards, lettuce, and cabbage—bring relatively low calories but quite a lot of fiber and water, which will help keep you hydrated and fill you full.
On hand will rescue the day when you want to have something fresh and quick when you don't want a salad: simply throw in your favorite pre-washed salad greens or a bagged salad kit. Hate salads? Add some greens to your smoothie.

2. Popcorn
Tumblr media
Snacks, particularly while decreasing weight, decrease hunger episodes between meals. Snack decisions may be such as picking popcorn: a huge serving size that would only equal a few calories, so keeping you feeling filled as you continue on your journey toward weight reduction. With a crunch that's nearly like chips, it's a superb option that offers roughly 4 grams of satisfying fiber in 3 cups.1 "If you're hungry, you need something to grab that's low calorie and also going to fill you up," explains Breanna Killeen, M.P.H., RD, a registered dietitian. "Popcorn is one of those great ones."
3. Olive Oil
Tumblr media
Pairing nicely with just about everything, olive oil delivers a host of health advantages. One tablespoon provides 14 grams of healthy fat, including the mono- and polyunsaturated varieties that help keep cholesterol levels in line and protect against heart disease. 2 "Just a little bit of olive oil makes stuff taste so much better," Killeen adds. "Plus, you need fat to absorb essential nutrients and keep you pleased and full. You want to find something, like olive oil, which is a source of unsaturated fat that is both healthful but also has that satiating impact." Overall, olive oil is one of the finest grocery store purchases, and a fantastic oil-based dressing takes any veg-packed salad to the next level.

4. Seltzer Water
Tumblr media
Fizz aficionados, rejoice! Seltzer, or bubbly water, is an excellent option when you have a craving for anything effervescent. No extra sugar: there's no sweetness to that game. Liquids tend to be fairly satiating. Sometimes it means you're more hydrated than other times sipping on a little seltzer throughout the day, but it's simply the sensation of fullness isn't going to make that seltzer or that water into a substitute meal. Now basic seltzer water contains simply one ingredient- carbonated water. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon or a splash of juice for an added taste.

Here are some acceptable substitutes to water: - Electrolyte sports drinks that are low in sugar - Water with fruit in it (e.g. low-sugar lemonade, cucumber water, etc) - Milk (if tolerated, because lots of people are allergic) - Seltzer waters (flavors are OK, but avoid sugar) These are acceptable because they maintain most of water's thermal absorption while also providing nutrients you need while out and about. You can use these before, during, or after your hike/workout/lawncare/etc. However, in a pinch, cold liquids from the following categories are also acceptable: - fruit juices - non-caffeinated sodas - iced tea
These will be less effective because sugary water absorbs less heat than regular water. However, if you serve these chilled, they should be fine for recovery after your exercises, or if you're in a survival situation where you have nothing else. It should be noted here that iced tea does contain caffeine, which mostly falls under the next category. However, the amount of caffeine in iced tea is generally low, and you gain more water from a glass of iced tea than you would lose to the caffeine in it.
Now we come to the "Please don't" category: - caffeinated sodas - coffee - high caffeine teas - alcohol - hot liquids - snow - salt water These are all Please Don't for different reasons, so I shall go over those reasons here. Caffeinated Soda is a Please Don't because it contains the one-two punch of high sugar (making it less effective at hydrating you) and caffeine (a diuretic). Now... If you haven't had any soda recently, a can of Pepsi on a hot day is fine. Even two cans, if you can handle that much sugar. You need something like 500mg of caffeine per day to start experiencing caffeine's dehydrating effects. However, to stay properly hydrated, you need to drink a gallon of water (or equivalent) per day, and a gallon of soda will contain more than 500mg of caffeine and enough sugar to kill a horse. Do not drink a gallon of soda.
Coffee and high-caffeine teas are like soda, but worse due to the much higher caffeine content. Again, do not replace all your water with coffee or high-caffeine teas.
Alcoholic beverages are Please Don't for two reasons - One, they impair your judgement, which can make it harder to stay properly hydrated, and two, alcohol is a stronger diuretic than caffeine. A bottle of vodka can easily make you lose more water than was actually in the bottle of vodka.
Hot Liquids are a please don't situation because they can actually raise your core body temperature, which is the exact opposite of what you want on a hot day. If it's all you have, it's all you have, but you should at least try to cool it down first.
Snow. Snow is actually good for cooling your body, but if you've found snow on a hot day (or if you need liquid in the winter), you should know snow is no longer considered pure and safe to eat after 12 hours. All sorts of micro-organisms ranging from bacteria to toxic algae can grow in snow, and they do not like you. If you must use snow, boil it, then let it cool down to a reasonable temperature after boiling. Salt water. Salt water will not hydrate you. Salt water will turn you into a piece of jerky. Salt water will kill you. Soda and alcohol may get you through the last three miles back to civilization in a pinch, but salt water will not. Never drink salt water.
Lastly, little known fact - You don't have to drink your hydration! Foods which are high in water content (such as watermelons, cucumbers, and jell-o) absolutely count towards hydration! In fact, the average person generally gets about 20% their water intake from food! Just take it easy on the foods that are high in salt, and replace them with low-salt varieties where you can.

*****Everyone!*****
This is my friends Shpickles, aka Erin. She has a surgery coming up that she needs help with. Please take a minute to read her GoFundMe page. Donate if you can. Share this link if you feel ok doing that. I know it's the holidays and everyone is already always feeling the financial pinch, but anything you can give would be helpful. She's an ornery goblin of a human, but only in the best ways possible. 😄 Seriously, she's an awesome person and this could make her life almost normal, and not a painful nightmare, for the first time ever.
*Edit*: I was originally going to include anecdotally when she broke a rib because she tried to push a fart too hard as both humorous and as an example of how her genetic defect not allowing her body to absorb nutrients properly effects her and her bones, but thought better of it as it could be a bit embarrassing. I told her as much and she said I could add it... So yeah, she broke a rib by flexing her abdominal muscles forcing a fart once. 😆😭 That's how much she needs this fixed. I frequently referred to her bones as imaginary or ethereal because of how useless they seem sometimes as actual bones.

Find out the Most Convincing Reasons for People to Visit Orthodontics
Tumblr media
Identifying, preventing, and correcting dental and facial abnormalities are the main goals of the branch of dentistry known as orthodontics. To address other problems including malocclusions and misaligned teeth, orthodontists utilize braces and other devices like Invisalign treatment in Santa Monica. A more attractive appearance, improved dental health, and teeth that function considerably better are just a few benefits of orthodontic treatment.
Enhanced Dental Health
Orthodontics in Santa Monica can enhance your dental health in several ways. First off, it might help to ensure that your teeth are completely straight, which will make it easier to successfully clean and floss them. Orthodontics can assist in closing off any gaps between the teeth where food debris might get caught and lead to gum disease or decay. Not to mention, straighter teeth are less prone to break or experience damage from a mouth injury.
Limit TMJ Disorder Symptoms
The way your teeth bite together affects the movement of your temporomandibular joint in your jaw. Your joint's typical range of motion must be limited because of aberrant biting interactions because it is necessary for speaking and eating. Your smile's alignment encourages better TMJ movement, which could ease stress in your muscles.
It may be challenging for some people to bite and chew their food if they have poor bites or misaligned teeth. This could lead to a restricted diet and intestinal issues, among other issues. A person's capacity to eat a variety of foods and properly digest them, as well as their ability to improve their appearance, are all improved by correcting misalignments and biting issues.
Superior Functionality
Your bite and jaw function can be improved, which is a significant additional advantage of orthodontic treatment. Correctly positioned teeth can ease digestion and TMJ as well as facilitate chewing.
Additionally, orthodontics in Santa Monica could improve your speech. If your overbite or underbite, it could affect your address. By straightening your teeth, orthodontics can enhance the clarity of your speech.
Teeth Defense
Issues with a patient's jaw growth and dental alignment may become apparent when they are still very young. Children who receive early intervention can benefit from help with normal upper and lower jaw development as well as mouth preparation for the eruption of permanent teeth.
Your body may not be able to fully absorb the nutrients from the food if you are unable to chew, which could lead to health issues. The inability to address the problem could lead to malnutrition.
Most people seek therapy to improve their smiles by using Invisalign in Santa Monica and so on. The most important reasons for receiving orthodontic treatment have little to do with aesthetics. The main benefits of orthodontic therapy are improved health and optimal tooth function.

Body needs these nutritions for cell repair, growth and energy.
Proteins - Various foods such as eggs, beans etc. consist of large molecules of proteins which get broken down into amino acids in the body.
Fats - These are a rich source of energy for the body and help in absorbing vitamins. When digestive health is good, the body aids in breaking down fatty acids and glycerol.
Carbohydrates - It includes sugars that are found naturally in milk, vegetables and fruits .
Vitamins - B vitamins and C vitamins are the water soluble vitamins and Vitamin A, D, E, K are fat soluble vitamins and each one of these has a different role in the growth and well-being of the body.
PROBLEMS WITH UNHEALTHY DIGESTION
Unintentional Weight changes:
Weight gain or weight loss without any severe change in the diet is the symptom of unhealthy digestion. An Unhealthy digestive system can impair the ability of the body to absorb necessary nutrients.

In fact, water helps our bodies conduct many vital functions including: - Regulating our body temperature - Carries oxygen and different nutrients to parts of our body - Helps to flush our waste products through our liver and kidneys - Assists with digestion and absorption of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients - Lubricates joints and moistens tissues It may come as no surprise, that because it helps with so many major functions, it is important to stay hydrated. In general, it is recommend that adults consume at least 8-12 cups (64-96 ounces) of water per day. However, everyone's needs may vary depending on a variety of factors including age, activity level, climate, perspiration, diet and body weight. Understanding these factors will help you determine your specific hydration requirements. There are certain fluid recommendations for some health conditions. If you are ever wondering how much water you should drink please consult with a health care provider or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist ✅ Benefits of Staying Hydrated There are several benefits to staying adequately hydrated including maximizing physical performance, improving our cognitive function, and promoting healthy skin and digestion. We know that drinking water optimizes our physical capabilities, allowing us to perform at our best during exercise, sports, and daily activities. Not only that, but dehydration can also impair cognitive function. This can affect overall concentration, memory, and mental clarity. When you are adequately hydrated this helps to keep your brain sharp and focused. Finally, it can also promote healthy skin and digestion. When you are properly hydrated this promotes vibrant skin and helps keep it moisturized by preventing dryness. It also is helpful with the digestion process because it helps our bodies absorb nutrients and maintain regular bowel movements. 📋 Tips For How to Stay Hydrated To ensure proper hydration throughout the day, consider implementing the following tips: 1. Drink enough water during the day To do this, it can be helpful to bring a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. This can help to remind you to drink enough water, especially since it's readily available. However, you still need to make a conscious effort to sip water regularly. For some, it can also be helpful to set reminders on your smart phone or use a nutrition app to track your fluid intake throughout the day and make sure you are drinking enough. 2. Include water rich foods in your diet Incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables with high water content, such as watermelon, cucumbers, oranges, and spinach. Aside from fruits and veggies, soups and broths are also great sources of hydration. 3. Limit caffeine and alcohol Certain beverages that contain caffeine or alcohol act as diuretics. This basically means that it increases your urine production and can dehydrate you if you're not drinking enough fluid. It is recommended to consume these types of beverages in moderation and balancing them with additional water intake. 4. Monitor urine color and frequency In general, the most practical way to know if you're adequately hydrated is paying attention to the color of your urine. Pale yellow indicates proper hydration, while darker urine suggests mild dehydration. You should also aim for frequent bathroom breaks. 5. Stay hydrated during physical activity Hydrate before, during, and after exercise or any strenuous activities. Pre-hydrate by drinking plain water before starting, and replenish electrolytes with sports drinks or coconut water for prolonged activities. 📖 How to Overcome Hydration Challenges Hydration can be challenging, especially during busy schedules or extreme temperatures. Consider the following strategies to overcome these challenges: Hydration in Extreme Temperatures: - During hot weather, increase your water intake to compensate for increased sweating. - In hot weather, you may also benefit from electrolyte containing drinks to prevent severe dehydration. - In cold climates, remember that dehydration can still occur, so stay mindful of your water consumption and avoid relying solely on thirst as an indicator. Hydration During Busy Schedules: - Incorporate short drinking water breaks into your routine. - Use apps that remind you to drink water at regular intervals. - Opt for a portable water bottle or invest in reusable collapsible water bottle for hydration on the go. 📑 Conclusion In conclusion, understanding the importance of hydration and implementing strategies to stay properly hydrated is crucial for maintaining overall health and well-being. Unfortunately, the majority of US adults do not consume enough water daily. This can lead to potential negative impacts on physical and cognitive performance. By staying adequately hydrated, we can maximize our physical capabilities, improve cognitive function, and promote healthy skin and digestion. To ensure proper hydration, it is recommended that adults consume at least 8-12 cups (64-96 ounces) of water per day, although individual needs may vary based on various factors. Incorporating water-rich foods into our diet, monitoring urine color and frequency, and staying hydrated during physical activity are practical tips for maintaining hydration levels throughout the day. Incorporating these tips and strategies into our daily lives will help us prioritize hydration, optimize our physical and cognitive abilities, and ultimately improve our overall health and well-being. So, let's raise a glass to staying hydrated and embracing the benefits it brings to our lives. Cheers to a hydrated and thriving you! Lifestyle changes for healthy life
Tumblr media
Lifestyle changes refer to modifications that individuals make to their daily routines, behaviors, and habits in order to improve their overall health, well-being, and quality of life. These changes can include adopting a healthier diet, increasing physical activity, getting enough sleep, reducing stress, quitting smoking, limiting alcohol consumption, and practicing good hygiene. Lifestyle changes are often recommended as a way to prevent or manage chronic health conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. Making positive lifestyle changes can lead to better physical and mental health, increased energy levels, improved mood, and a reduced risk of developing chronic diseases. The importance of maintaining one's health and fitness has grown for practically everyone. While many people stick to diets to stay in shape, some people choose to engage in physical activities instead, such as going to the gym or practising yoga. Making some small modifications to one's lifestyle can help one keep fit and healthy even though it can be challenging at times due to a busy schedule. Lifestyle changes for healthy life Eating without Hunger    Hunger is a sign that your last meal was properly digested. Eating without hunger causes your liver to work overtime. The ideal rule you should adhere to is to only eat when you are truly hungry. Eating when you're not hungry can affect your digestion and slow down your metabolism. After midnight, sleeping   By 10:00 pm is the best time to go to bed. Your metabolism is at its highest from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., which is pitta dominating time. You can maintain your weight, blood sugar levels, energy, and most importantly, your body's ability to absorb nutrients from the food you eat, if you stop eating at 7 or 7:30 pm and go to bed early. By doing this, you give your digestive system time to digest everything you've eaten throughout the day. It also facilitates optimal liver detoxification. Sleeping after midnight reduces the quality of your sleep and throws off your circadian rhythm, which can lead to mental health problems, vitamin shortages, poor gut health, and other problems. late-night dinner   The ideal time to have dinner is an hour before or just after dusk, but no later than eight o'clock. After 9 o'clock dinners are probably bad for your metabolism, liver detox, and even sleep. Over time, it may result in diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, and heart problems. Multitasking It causes the body to produce more cortisol, a stress hormone, increasing your risk of developing autoimmune and lifestyle diseases. Working more effectively, lessening stress, and feeling more pleased and at peace at the end of the day are all benefits of doing one thing at a time thoughtfully. Exercising beyond your capabilities Overexertion can wear you out, cause blood disorders, dysonoea, cough, fever, excessive thirst, and even cause vomiting. Up until one is at half strength, one can exercise as much as possible in the cold. Sweating on the forehead, hands, and thighs is a sign of this. Without a nourishing diet, excessive exertion that goes beyond what our bodies can handle can cause serious Vata aggravation, tissue loss, and poor agni. So the key is moderation. 15 Amazing Benefits of Breastfeeding

15 Amazing Benefits of Breastfeeding
Note: In this article, many of the hyperlinks will take you to articles that support my research about breastfeeding. Happy reading!
Making Breastfeeding a Reality
Before the birth of my son, it was always my desire to exclusively breastfeed my baby. It never really occurred to me to do it any other way. As it turns out, the more I read and researched, the more pleased I became about this decision.  If you have read about my breastfeeding journey with my son, you know that in the beginning I wasn’t able to make exclusive breastfeeding a reality. However, before my son was three months old, he was exclusively breastfeeding. Praise the Lord!
And despite the fact that for our family in those first three months, breastfeeding was NOT a cheaper than if we had chosen a formula path, my husband, (who is very frugally minded), was still on board with the decision because of all the amazing benefits breastfeeding had to offer both our child and me as well. So…
Some may ask “Why go through all this trouble just to breastfeed when there are other options for feeding a baby in today’s society?”
Here are 15 Amazing Reasons Why I Breastfeed My Baby:
Benefits for the Baby:
1. Colostrum. The first “milk” a new mother produces is a thick, yellowish, almost clear fluid, called Colostrum. Colostrum is also referred to as “liquid gold”. Why? Colostrum is nutrient-packed and contains everything your baby needs in those first few days of life. Colostrum acts similarly to a vaccine in that it works to ward off infections and viruses that your baby may be exposed to. It also helps to prepare your baby’s tummy for the milk that will come in 3-5 days later.
2. Antibodies and Immune Defense. When a baby breastfeeds, that baby not only receives the antibodies his mother has been exposed to over her lifetime, but, due to the adaptive capability of the milk, also receives antibodies for illnesses that he is exposed to. As soon as a baby has been exposed to something, the act of nursing signals an immune response in the mother that produces the right antibodies the baby needs to ward off the illness. How incredible is that!
3. Superior Nutrition. As a baby grows and changes, so does the mother’s milk based on what the baby needs. The combination of vitamins, protein, and fat makes it a superior nutrition. A baby’s growth spurts, where the baby feeds more often, aid in increasing the mother’s milk supply. Breast milk is also said to contain live organisms, which formula cannot duplicate.
4. Pleasant Poop. Yes, you read that correctly. Exclusively breastfed poop is completely water soluble (which is great for cloth diapering or blowouts) and truly doesn’t have an unpleasant odor. Take it from this Mama who used formula as well, formula poop smells awful! Then there’s the fact that breastfed babies may actually poop less often. Due to the nutrient rich content of breast milk, there’s less “waste” as the baby’s body is better able to absorb it as opposed to formula.
5. Better for Reflux. Continuing on the subject of digestion, breastmilk is easier on a baby’s tummy than formula. Babies stomachs are incredibly immature, and those who breastfeed are less likely to have issues with reflux.
6. Developmental Benefits. There are incredible developmental benefits for a breastfeeding baby as well.
Physical development: the act of suckling actually helps to properly form a baby’s mouth and jaw development, which will aid them later in life when they begin eating and speaking. Bottle fed babies are not required to utilize these muscles the same way.
Mental development: According to WebMD, “Breastfeeding has been linked to higher IQ scores in later childhood in some studies.” I’ll take that as a bonus!
Emotional development: breastfed babies are less likely to deal with anxiety and depression when compared to babies who didn’t breastfeed.
7. Easy On-the-Go! There is considerably less preparation when it comes to feeding a breastfed baby, as opposed to feeding with a bottle. You already have your baby’s food wherever you go, and it’s already in the perfect amount and the perfect temperature. I remember back in the formula days, trying to keep all the bottles washes and ready and measuring out formula and water. I wouldn’t say it’s difficult to do, but definitely takes more prep time when you’re needing to leave the house.
8. Special Bond. I believe all babies bond with their mothers, no matter how they are fed. However, there is something to be said for those special moments of closeness, eye contact, and skin to skin comfort and security the baby feels. Not to mention the hilarious things your baby does while nursing as he gets older.
9. Lower Risks Later in Life. Babies who breastfeed are less likely later in life to develop diabetes or struggle with obesity. “It also lowers their risk of having asthma or allergies.”
Benefits for the Mother:
10. Faster Post Partum Healing. Once a baby is born, the act of breastfeeding helps the uterus contract back to a normal size, which promotes faster post partum healing.
11. Decreased Risk for a Lifetime. Studies show that breastfeeding significantly decreases the risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes.
12. Two words: No Period! Who didn’t love being pregnant if only for that one reason? Breastfeeding delays ovulation, and thus menstruation as well. Some couples even use it as a natural birth control method, (though few care providers will recommend it as a sole method).
13. Help Losing Weight. Breastfeeding can help in post partum weight loss efforts as it can burn 400-500 calories a day!
14. Decreased Risk of PP Depression. Breastfeeding releases “feel-good” hormones, which can aid in bonding with your baby. Breastfeeding mothers are also 50% less likely to deal with post partum depression than those who do not.
15. Cheap. Although this wasn’t the case for us at first, generally speaking, there is a cost efficiency for the majority families who are able and choose to go the breastfeeding route.
“So how long should I breastfeed my baby?”
We’ll address this question more fully in another post, but there are definite benefits to breastfeeding your child past the first year of his life. The World Health Organization (WHO) actually recommends that a child be fed breast milk for at least the first 2 years. WHO also encourages mothers who may be struggling with breastfeeding to seek out expert support so that they can learn to successfully breastfeed.
So there you have it! 15 AMAZING reasons to breastfeed your baby!
The truth is that God designed mothers to be able to nourish their children, and despite man’s best effort, no supplement can come close to God’s design.
“From the God of your father who helps you, And by the Almighty who blesses you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.” Genesis 49:25

@please-be-nice-im-sensitive
they are indeed!! stress and citrus have quite an interesting relationship lol, starting with le stress:
you may be familiar with cortisol (the stress hormone) that plays a big role in maintaining the bodys healthy state of balance (everyones balance looks a little different but theres typically a range. anyway)
cortisol is amazing at what it does in keeping the body healthy, but too much of it eventually wears the body down.
for example weight is often gained in times of stress (like yours truly lol), but it can also be lost like when metabolism speeds up to keep up with demands or the digestive system rushing to flush everything out & not absorbing nutrients properly
citrus is famously very rich in vitamin c (ascorbic acid) and has been shown to influence cortisol production, and being deficient makes one more vulnerable to the negative effects of excess cortisol.
my best guess is that your craving for citrus is your body telling you you need more vit c, which is important for all sorts of stuff but also for stress management!
id recommend getting some blood work done if you can (i love blood tests lol i know not everyone feels the same about it XD) and or go to ur local pharmacy to pick up supplements if u have any concerns
--
to anyone reading keep in mind i am a student & i answer to the best of my abilities. this is not a substitute for a proper consultation, pls talk to ur healthcare providers if ever in doubt :)
you’re smart and a med student, do you think you could answer a question for me about this kind of thing?
hgfdsdfghgfds you flatter me lmao. i am only one of these things but id love to see if me & my limited knowledge can help u in any way :)

Hey, would you mind writing a drabble or headcanon about any MHA boys with a s/o that’s bulimic? I know Sinsou isn’t on your list but if you feel inspired, he is my favorite.
Thank you if you decide to write it!
Bakugou, Shinsou, and Kirishima (Separate) with Reader Who is Bulimic
Pairings: Bakugou x Gn!Reader, Shinsou x Gn!Reader, Kirishima x Gn!Reader
Warnings: Mentions of Eating Disorder (Bulimia), mentions of throwing up, slight language bc Bakugou, poor body image, pls pls pls don’t read if reading about an eating disorder is triggering to you plss
Genre: Angst? Little bit of Fluff?
Post-Type: Headcanons
Word Count: 1.05k
Summary: In which Bakugou, Shinsou, and Kirishima find out that you are bulimic and they help you out/comfort you etc
[A/N: Hey anon, thank you for the request! Let me start off by saying, I don’t have much knowledge on the specifics of eating disorders or how it affects people individually. I used to have an e.d so I just wrote this based on my own knowledge, my own experiences, and some research that I did (specifically on how to approach someone who has an e.d) so please please please message me, comments, or send me an ask if what I wrote is inaccurate or perhaps is even insensitive? Idk, just let me know and I’ll change things around or delete. I don’t want to hurt anyone here <3. Anyway, I tried my best to write for Shinsou for you anon! If I happen to get more requests for Shinsou and if this one was an okay depiction of him, then I’d love to add him to my list of characters that I write for! So let me know or send in more requests for him and I’ll add him to the list. I also added Kirishima and Bakugou bc my followers seem to love those two a lot! To anyone out there with an e.d of any kind, I just want you to know that I love you, and my dm’s are always open if you need to talk to anyone <3.}
Tumblr media
Bakugou:
Tumblr media
Bakugou is pretty quick to realize your eating habits, he is very attentive even though he acts oblivious
He notices that you tend to eat your heart out, but then you disappear for a while afterwards and the dots just connected when you always ran to the bathroom right after eating
Will 100% call you out on it straight away because he’s just very impulsive, which probably isn’t the best idea
He’s angry, but he’s yelling at you because he cares
“How could you do that to your own body Y/N? You need to take care of yourself dumbass!”
Give him a little while to calm down
I picture him pacing back and forth lecturing you about the negative effects of eating loads of food and then throwing it all back up
“Don’t you get that you're not letting your body absorb any of the nutrients in the food because you’re throwing it up straight away?!”
Yeah he’s furious, not necessarily AT you per-say, but he’s upset that you’re unknowingly causing harm to your own body
I picture Bakugou as a health freak
He’s fighting his hardest to become the number 1 hero, therefore he’s always working out and eating properly, so having you treat your body horribly hurts him
He will try and take control of the situation by cooking meals for you, sitting down to watch you eat it, and continuing to monitor you afterwards to make sure you keep it down
He’d be pretty tense for a few days, but once he’s fully calmed down he’d probably come up to you in private and apologize for his aggressive behavior
“...I’m sorry. I just don’t want you to get hurt, especially not from your own choices and actions. You’re a dumbass, but you’re my dumbass and I’ll make sure you get through this...together”
He’d ease up on you if he found that his helicopter behavior was making you uncomfortable, that’s the last thing he wants, but he still tries to keep a close eye on you
Shinsou:
Tumblr media
This is my first time ever writing for Shinsou, so I’m sorry if it’s not too accurate :(
I picture Shinsou as the type to suspect that something was going on with you, but it does take him a while to really figure it out exactly what is going on
He figures it out one day when he visits your dorm after dinner and see’s you finishing up some more food
“I’ll just be right back,” you say, walking over the bathroom
He was always suspicious how you always used the bathroom after eating, so he took the chance to look around your room
He find piles of wrappers of food in your trash can, and a huge supply of laxatives in your drawers--it’s then that he puts the pieces together
He’s blunt, so as soon as you return to your dorm he’s asking you about it
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
He’s hurt that you were going through something that he was unaware of for who knows how long
If you deny it, he wouldn’t push you, he’d just pull you into a hug to try and remind you how much he cares for you
“You know I love you right?
Does more research on how to help you out online once he’s back in his own dorm
Resorts to just trying to show support for you and showing you as much love as he can
He tries to act like he normally would, eating around you, not mentioning anything about your weight, even though he loves the way you look regardless
He’d invite you out to eat with him so you could see how he eats and maybe learn how to eat healthily from example
After a few weeks, he’d probably bluntly come up to you again and ask if you want help from someone who could actually help you
No matter how you answer, just know that he’d be by your side helping you out and watching over you in anyway that he can
Kirishima:
Tumblr media
Kirishima doesn’t have a clue what’s going on, and he probably won’t know unless you directly tell him
The only reason he found out was because he noticed you running off to train severely right after eating every meal
At first he thought maybe you were just passionate about improving as a hero, but he could see how drained you were as you physically strain yourself to workout
He’d come over to you and try to get you to stop before you hurt yourself, and would probably physically lift you up and carry you off if you refused
“What’s going on Y/N? You know you can talk to me, right?”
He’s just concerned for you
Like I said, he’d only know that it was your bulimia that was causing you to workout excessively if you told him yourself, so let’s say that you confess to him
You’ve wanted to reach out to him for help regarding your poor body image, and binging and purging, but you didn’t know how to tell him
This was the perfect opportunity so you let it all spill
Kirishima is shocked to say the least, he has the sudden urge to hold you and press millions of kisses all over you
So that’s exactly what he does
He has you crushed in his arms for what feels like hours, holding you to his chest so that you don’t see him cry about it, bc that’s not manly
“I’m sorry I didn’t notice Y/N. I should have paid more attention to you. To think that you’ve been dealing with all of this on your own for who knows how long…”
From that day on though Kirishima is cautious around you
He’s pretty built, so he’d try not to talk about his exercising in front of you or mention anything about body image or excessive eating
He’s on edge because he doesn’t want to say something that could possibly make you feel worse
If you approach him about learning how to eat better and exercise to a healthy extent, mans will jump at the chance to help you out
From now on he tries to pay more attention to any small details that he may have missed before because he never wants to see you suffer in your own mind again while he’s around to help

Common traits of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
I’m not a doctor, so there may be some details off here though tbh chronically ill people usually know more than most doctors. I'm making this post because there’s very little awareness about this, and people who fit the diagnosis criteria end up never being diagnosed and suffering in silence, even risking early deaths, as I now suspect happened to my grandma.
Definition:
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a group of disorders that affect connective tissue. It’s a genetic disorder that has no cure, but does have palliative treatments depending on the type of EDS.
All types of EDS are characterized by abnormal collagen synthesis. This doesn’t mean that you have too little collagen (necessarily?), but that the collagen your body synthesizes is and will always be altered or of bad quality, regardless of how much of it you synthesize.
EDS is regarded as “rare” by most doctors, but many patients believe it’s more common than they think, only being so “rare” on paper because doctors perceive it as rare, so they don’t diagnose patients despite fitting the criteria (search why EDS communities use the zebra as a symbol). Due to this, EDS communities encourage self-diagnosis, and many times even self-treatment.
Abnormal collagen sounds like it’s “only” one thing, but collagen is a key structural protein ALL over the body, so if your collagen is wrong, a lot of things are wrong or at the very least unusual. As a result, EDS affects the skin, ligaments, joints, blood vessels and other organs (including gastrointestinal organs and the uterus).
Common traits and symptoms:
Please, keep in mind that these symptoms don’t have to be super extreme to count. EDS symptoms range from mild to severe. Most of my symptoms aren’t remarkably visible to the eye, but they’re still bad enough that I suffer tremendously and it affects every single aspect of my life.
Take into account that many of the following traits/symptoms aren’t exclusive to EDS, but if you have more than one or two...
Joint hypermobility: Being "double jointed". The joints are so lax, that they luxate or even dislocate for as much as staying still in the same position too long. It can affect some joints, or all joints, small joints or big joints. It obviously comes associated with joint pain, including chronic joint pain. Can also manifest as scoliosis.
Skin elasticity: You can pull your skin (by pinching it) and it stretches more than the skin of most people. This can, in some cases, make EDS patients prone to skin sagging.
Abnormal scarring: The skin of people with EDS is fragile and elastic, and takes longer to heal. Abnormal scarring includes “cigarette paper” scarring, keloids, slow scarring and healing, higher propensity to stretch marks, post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation.
Bruising too easily: The blood vessels of people with EDS are fragile to one degree or another. This makes us prone to bruising easily or dramatically, to the point some present spontaneous bruising. Spontaneous bruising might point to vascular EDS, in which case please seek medical help because it’s the most dangerous form of EDS. There’s cases recorded of parents who’ve been falsely accused of beating their children because of the child’s easy or spontaneous bruising.
Digestive and/or nutritional issues: GUESS what intestines and other digestive organs are made of. Yes, collagen. People with EDS are prone to having delicate digestive systems (IBS, nausea, constipation, diarreah and food allergies included), and/or difficulty absorbing the nutrients from our diet. This trait can be bad enough that the patient needs to be fed through a tube or have nutrients injected into their bloodstream, but most of us do fine with regular nutritional supplements (I recommend multivitamins and minerals). Among other things, the nutrient absorption issue makes us prone to excessive hydration due to imbalance of water-salt intake or absorption, and that’s a REALLY bad thing. It made my hair fall off MASSIVELY for years, and intensified my pain, brain fog and fatigue.
Chronic fatigue: Between the physical pain and bad nutrient absorption, most if not all of us experience chronic fatigue (as a symptom, not the disorder). This isn’t just being tired, it’s being exhausted to your bones for no reason all the time, even if you’ve done absolutely nothing in weeks. Might be pervasive, might be recurrent.
Muscle pain: When you have EDS Everything Hurts™. This can be exacerbated in EDS patients by imbalance of water-salt intake (generally leaning towards excessive hydration, but can be dehydration too).
Chronic pain: Everything Hurts™... All the time. It’s a general pain expanded throughout your body that just won’t go the fuck away no matter what you do. Except that this can be exacerbated by imbalance of water-salt intake too! Fixing mine made my chronic and muscle pain so much more bearable to the point that on a good day it’s GONE (just remember, your pee should NEVER be even close to clear, it should just not be solidly opaque, and you could damage your kidneys too by drinking too much water).
Brain fog: Linked to chronic fatigue and pain (ALSO POSSIBLY THE WATER-SALT INTAKE). Like chronic pain and fatigue, it’s not necessarily present every single day, but be recurrent instead. You can’t think. You can’t read or process what you read. You can’t turn thoughts into words. Your grammar goes to shit. You can’t retain or process new information. You can’t remember words that you KNOW you know. You can’t remember things in general. Someone asks you a simple question and it’s like they’re speaking to you in another language. You start to feel increasingly frustrated and desperate because you’re constantly disoriented and your mind is lagging like an old computer running on a 256 MB RAM memory. ERROR 404 BRAIN NOT FOUND TRY AGAIN LATER. Well, turns out you are not dumb, your body is not cooperating with you, and that includes your brain.
Asthma: Highly comorbid. Just... Everything is made of collagen, pal. EVERYTHING.
Autism: Don’t ask me why, but EDS and autism are highly comorbid too, so if you’re in the autism spectrum (same hat) and experience any or many of the other symptoms/traits listed, it’s very likely that you also have EDS.
Depression: It’s really hard to be "positive”, have any motivation or enjoy anything, when NOTHING in your body works right, Everything Hurts™ and you’re so depressingly exhausted that all you CAN do is lay in bed all day. People and doctors telling you you’re “faking it”, people thinking you’re lazy, underestimating how much pain and fatigue you’re going through, having to pull through all of that anyway because you have no other option (ie. your job is your or your family’s only source of income) does not help AT ALL with this.
Tight/narrow “inner plumbing”: In my case, my throat is so narrow, that swallowing one (1) small pill is genuinely difficult, and big pills make me GAG. But its not just your throat, it’s ALL your plumbing being too tight or narrow.
Varicose veins: The whole blood vessels being fragile thing. Most common in vascular EDS, please seek help if you think you may have that specific type.
Thin “transparent” soft skin: Again... FUCKING COLLAGEN. I think it’s obvious what this one means? Except it’s likely that it’s harder to notice the “transparent” part of it on darker skinned patients, but if you’re pale or light skinned, you’d be one of those people whose veins are very easy to see.
“Moldable” nails: Yet again, collagen is everywhere. Some of my nails (index and middle fingers) are slightly deformed because I tend to clench my hands A LOT by instinct and the continued pressure changed their shape.
Aracnodactilia, or “spidery” hands/fingers: The fingers are very skinny and long in proportion to the rest of the hand, can apply to feet too. Having very narrow feet (ie. your shoes are always to wide for you) is part of this.
Gynecological issues or abnormalities: Excessive bleeding during your period, bleeding outside your period, infertility, spontaneous abortions, pre-term labor, high risk pregnancies. Very common with vascular EDS too.
Dry eyes: I didn’t know about this one until like, literally two days ago but apparently it’s a thing, since the test this Chilean EDS specialist we’re hoping to see gives you, includes it as a potential symptom.
“Elongated” body, face (and its features) and/or limbs: Actually the aracnodactilia is often part of this. I also have no idea why but many EDS patients have “elongated”, narrower features, be it subtle or very visible.
Chronic fatigue and brain fog are really hard to describe properly to people who don’t go through them. Hell, even to people who DO go through them. So here’s two videos by Jessica Kellgren-Fozard (just in case, she was misdiagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but discovered recently that she has EDS, besides her neurological condition). All her videos have CC.
