Mike and Will literally share shoes (and Will might be sleeping in Mike's room) and might not be dating yet when they start dating they're gonna share a whole closet and flirt with each other about how good they look in each other's clothes and just being obnoxious (I will rewatch those scenes so many times) what if they're sharing/swapping shoes because it's the 80's and they're in a really homophobic and conservative town and if they want to give little hints that they're dating and want to openly show it (to at least their friends) they have to be subtle about it? and maybe when they're at home they share clothes without feeling like they have to be careful with how they act around each other and can be openly affectionate (like them in s2)

Confirmation that they're the same shoes and they're both size 10 so yeah they're sharing shoes

in s1 during that scene on the train tracks they're friends and in the leaked video they were wearing similar clothes to what they were wearing in that s1 scene where they were friends and could trust each other. i think Mike's gonna come out to her (as gay) there which would explain why El was crying, and why Mike said "i wanted to talk to you first", in s1 Mike said "friends tell the truth" to El and in s5 it's Mike's turn to be honest about himself and maybe he'll tell her he's in love with Will or maybe he'll tell her that he's dating Will

it's the same song that played when Robin came out to Steve, obviously Steve had a crush on Robin but she's a lesbian and can only love him platonically while even though Mike tried to love El romantically he couldn't do it because he's gay and he didn't even bother to close his eyes and kiss her back

Byler is so obviously gonna happen even without all those proofs because they gave mlvn the stancy storyline of Nancy not being able to say "I love you" to Steve because she's in love with Jonathan and they didn't give that storyline to Jopper, Lumax and Jancy or even Duzie which are healthy couples who don't lie about who they are to each other and never felt unloved by their partners, and Mike wants to feel needed and Will needs him and El doesn't and Millie said El realized she's her own superhero and that she's gonna figure out who she is without Mike and Millie is not promoting mlvn anymore

Mike and Will spent s3 acting like they were the exes because in s2 Mike was overly affectionate with Will but he stopped doing that when he got a gf because he saw what he did as romantic so in his mind being affectionate with Will even just hugging him or just holding his hand like he did in s2 would be cheating because he's in love with Will and he's gay

originally El was supposed to die in s1 (I'm glad they didn't kill her) and they were already planning to make Will in love with Mike since s1? plus if they wanted to make Will move on they would've given him a bf in the previous seasons like with Dustin and Suzie because Max didn't like Dustin back. “So…” Ghost can hear Price next to him, creating an echo as he speaks through his earpiece, “Doesn’t it get hot, always wearing that mask?” 

“Not when it’s made of the right materials,” Your voice crackles through, the wind blowing by slightly distorting your voice, “It’s also winter, captain, so no, it doesn’t get hot.” 

The corners of Ghost’s lips twitch upwards when you answer, but he otherwise doesn’t say or do anything, simply leaning against the wall parallel to Price. For you, maybe your mask doesn’t get hot, but his certainly does—though, he doesn’t voice that, simply listening. 

“Oh really?” Price hums, looking around the corner of the wall he’s leaned up against, spotting a few enemy soldiers walking by without a clue of who they’re in the presence of, “What’s yours made of, then?” 

“Polyester,” You answer. 

From what Ghost understands, you wear a mask for the same reason as him—anonymity. As much as he can respect that and understand the want to remain anonymous, he can’t help but wonder why you would want that. Is it for reasons similar to why he wears his? Have you gone through things similar to what he’s gone through? Did a fellow SAS soldier also murder your entire family and attempt to pin it on you, to which you responded by killing him, stealing his dog tags, and burning your own house down? He had many questions, but didn’t ask any. 

He doesn’t think you’d answer them, anyway. He certainly wouldn’t. He’d maybe try to divert the conversation with a bad dad joke, or simply not dignify the question with a response, anything but an actual answer. He strangely expects the same of you. 

He vaguely remembers a conversation he had with Price when you first joined maybe two months ago, specifically a comment Price had made about your file; “I had the same conversation with Laswell about their file that I did when I first got yours. She said the same thing when she saw their file, too, word for word.”

It turned out that they had the exact same exchange that they did when they saw Ghost’s file, verbatim. Laswell had pointed out that you had no picture, and Price said, “Never.” Ever since then, Ghost has felt an inexplicable connection to you, despite not having talked to you that much. 

He’ll admit, he tried to initiate a conversation with you more often than he did with the others when he first met them. Maybe one or two times a day, he’d find you and make small talk, something that made his skin crawl with discomfort but something he still forced himself to do, just to try and make sense of the invisible line that seemed to tie you both together. 

This small talk started off as anything from a question about the weather—yes, Ghost asked about the weather, unfortunately for the both of you considering how awkward and stilted that short conversation was—to asking about training and skills. He didn’t normally initiate conversations with anyone else, he was typically the one that was walked up to and barely even had to carry any conversations he was in. 

Every conversation the two of you had always ended the same way, though; with you cutting it short the moment it got anywhere near your personal life, or even just your life outside of being a part of the 141, and walking off elsewhere. Ghost could see the tiniest bit of himself in you everytime you did that, and an annoying voice in the back of his mind always asked, Was I always that much of a hardass? … Am I that much of a hardass?

“Ghost,” Price’s voice snaps Ghost out of his train of thought and he grunts, looking over at Price. The man in question nods his head towards the now clear path to the building they needed to get into, and Ghost nodded back, taking his SMG out of the sling and moving out of the small alleyway they’d camped in, following after Price. 

They quickly rush over to the building, the doors thankfully unlocked and the soldiers guarding it stupid enough to not be right beside the front doors, and lock the doors behind them once they’re in. 

“Are you guys in?” You ask, the wind no longer distorting your voice, the background of your audio now relatively silent except for your faint breathing. 

“Yeah,” Price replies, the darkness of the building making him squint as he scans the walls for some sort of light switch, “Anyone notice we got in?”

“Not that I can see, no,” You answer, your sigh audible through the comms, “They’re pretty far from the building, actually.” 

“Perfect,” Price hums, patting his hand along the wall for a moment before finding a large lever. He hesitates to pull it, and ultimately decides against it, deeming it too risky. Instead, he searches his tactical vest and goes through a few large pockets that sit around his lower midriff before finding a relatively small flashlight. 

He presses the button on the end of the handle with a small click, and the flashlight flickers for a moment before the light becomes consistent and a small buzz begins to sound. Price looks around for a second, scanning the area for any immediate threats, and motions for Ghost to follow him. 

“See anything?” You ask curiously, some rustling heard on your end. Ghost looks around for a second, footsteps echoing eerily through the building. 

“Nothing important,” He replies, voice quiet, “Just dust and old furniture.” 

“His office is just down there,” Price interjects, nodding towards the hall to their left, making Ghost look in that same direction, “I’ll head down there, you stay here, let me know if anyone’s coming.” 

The echo from Price talking to Ghost both through comms and being right beside him, as well as the echo from being in such a large room, starts to irritate Ghost. He rolls his shoulders and puts his gun back in the sling, looking back at Price.

“Turn off your comms,” His suggestion sounds more like a command, but he’s sure Price understands it’s more of a request than anything else, “You’re echoing. If anything happens, I can just talk to you without them.” 

Price pauses before nodding, and pressing the small button on his earpiece to turn off his mic, and the piece entirely. He trusts Ghost wholeheartedly, and it shows. He takes one last look around before walking towards the office he pointed out. 

The office belonged to the man who had stolen vital intel from the 141—not intelligence on the task force itself, but rather a separate team that had recently allied themselves with the task force. They couldn’t risk that data being taken, as it would not only expose the other team, but several other similar teams and task forces. 

Ghost waits until Price is actually in the hall before speaking again, “You still there, [c/n]?” 

“Yeah,” You answer almost immediately, “Need something?” 

“No,” Ghost hums, leaning against the wall behind him, “Just wanted to talk.” 

“Please don’t ask me about the weather again,” You sigh, almost exasperated, “Or about how my training is going, or about how my CO is, or—” 

“I’m not,” Ghost interrupts you, not sure whether to laugh or cry at your examples of past conversations. 

“Promise?” 

“Promise,” He says, before asking, “How long were you apart of the army, before joining here?” 

“Before the 141?” You pause, thinking for a moment, “Sounds kind of personal.” 

“You don’t have to answer,” Ghost offers, voice almost reassuring, “Just curious.” 

“Aren’t you always,” You mutter, a comment Ghost promptly ignores, before you properly answer, “Just a year. Maybe a year and a half.” 

“American army, right?”

“Mhm,” You hum, “Would you believe me if I said we sang Yankee Doodle before going on any missions?”

“Oh, sure I would,” Ghost chuckles, before countering, “Would you believe me if I said that song was made to mock Americans?” 

“I’m not sure if I should be offended that you believe that,” You say, a lighter lilt to your voice as you do compared to a few moments ago, “But yes, I believe you. I think that almost every American has reclaimed it as one of the most patriotic songs, though.” 

“Almost every American?” Ghost questions, growing more amused as the conversation goes on. It confuses him, making him wonder why he’s so easily drawn into conversations with you, no matter how small or dry. 

“I’m sure there’s some here and there that don’t like it,” You elaborate, “But I haven’t met any. Not yet.” 

“Alright,” Ghost nods even though you can’t see him, before asking another question, “What branch?” 

“The Navy,” You answer, now without questioning Ghost which brings him a strange sense of relief, “I flew planes around and stuff. Didn’t really like it, though.” 

“Oh yeah?” Ghost sounds more interested now, “Why not?” 

“The soldiers there aren’t the best people to be around,” You hum, the sounds of you moving audible, “One mention of any sort of mental issues, even if it’s just something like feeling anxious or being sleep deprived, and suddenly everyone’s on your ass pressuring you to be better or just… being weird about it. It gets draining after a while.” 

“I bet,” Ghost murmurs, “Is that why you left?” 

“Partially,” You answer honestly, “Half of it was that, the other half was that I just didn’t like flying planes. I was also eighteen and couldn’t really control my impulsive thoughts, so a majority of the time I was fighting myself trying not to crash the plane on purpose.” 

“Makes sense,” Ghost considers what you said for a moment, before his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and he asks, “Isn’t the enlistment age for the Navy nineteen?” 

“It is,” You assure him, “I was an exception, ‘cause I was a month or two away from turning nineteen.” 

“Hm,” Ghost hums, “And you’re twenty now?” 

“Twenty, almost twenty-one,” You confirm. 

“Did you wear the mask back then?” Ghost asks, praying that the question isn’t too personal to the point where you stop responding. He’s been dying to ask the question, always worrying whether or not it was too personal—it was pretty personal, to be fair, but he wasn’t used to worrying this much over another soldier, much less one he only met two months ago. Sure, you both wore a mask and remained somewhat anonymous, but that didn’t mean you two were automatically best friends who braided each other’s hair. 

“...” You don’t respond for a moment, making Ghost’s worry increase, before you reply, “No.”

Your simple answer makes Ghost more curious, and he can’t tell if he should ask why or not. He stays silent for a few seconds, weighing his options, before he ultimately says, “Alright.” 

He tries to leave it up to you whether or not you want to tell him about your own story, of if you’re comfortable with that, which you probably aren’t, considering that—again—the two of you only met a couple months ago.

“Did you wear the mask?” You ask quietly a moment later, catching Ghost off-guard, “Before this?” 

“Before the 141?” He echoes your question from earlier, nodding to himself, “Yeah. For some time before this, I had a different mask, but it was still a mask.” 

“Was the skull always there?” 

“Mhm.” 

“… For just aesthetic purposes, or?” Ghost feels the corners of his lips tug up in amusement at your question, and at how genuinely curious you sound. 

“Eh. Not really,” He answers, taking a deep breath in and out through his nose. He doesn’t say any more than that, not being able to as his mind takes him back to a time a while ago, when he was being held hostage and was in the same room as some kids who heard him spill his entire background to the men holding him hostage. 

He remembers one kid in particular, a little girl with blonde hair, who had listened to every detail that he’d said. When he was telling the story of why he has the call sign Ghost, in hopes of distracting the men so that the 141 could rescue him and the kids, she had clung to every detail and later asked him if what he had said was true, her tone of voice eerily similar to yours. 

He remembers when he was carrying her out of that room, the questions she’d bombarded him with, and how he answered every one with as neutral of an answer he could muster. He debates doing that now with any questions you ask, but decides against it almost instantly—something that shocks him, even though it was his own thought—considering that he wanted to ask you those same questions. Not about your call sign, only about the mask. 

“It’s a long story,” He says after you’ve been silent for a while, your curiosity somehow palpable even through just the comms, “But it has to do with some family members.” 

“Yeah?” You hum, “I know a thing or two about that.” 

“Do you?” Ghost asks, slightly ashamed at the small jolt of excitement he feels at the opportunity of hearing more about you. 

“Mhm,” You pause, staying quiet for a moment, before continuing, “About family members. Dead ones.” 

“Ah,” Ghost nods, the discomfort he originally felt sharing some of his own story starting to melt away, “Dead ones. I understand.” 

“Can’t tell if I should be glad or not,” You snort, “Like, I’m glad you understand, but also sorry.” 

“Don’t worry about it,” Ghost grins under his mask, “I was wondering the same thing.” 

“So… dead ones,” You think out loud, before asking, “That’s why you have that call sign and mask?” 

“Yeah,” Ghost looks around for a moment, reminding himself to keep watch while talking to you, before cautiously asking, “Are yours the reason for your mask?” 

“Not really,” You answer honestly, with a little less resistance behind your answer to Ghost’s relief, “Well… I mean, kind of. But they’re not the reason-reason. I didn’t really like them, so I’m not gonna give them all the credit, but I’ll give them… maybe twenty-five percent of it.” 

“A quarter’s still a lot,” Ghost points out, “What’d they do to earn that?” 

“They died, and…” You’re doing more pausing and hesitating now, making Ghost wonder if he’s going to personal every second that you stay quiet, before you finally answer in a more guarded tone, “I almost got blamed for it. Almost.” 

Ghost gets hit with a pang of mixed emotions, like a weird sort of uncomfortable nostalgia. They almost got blamed for it. He lets out a breath that’s slightly shaky, and thinks for a moment before saying, “Almost?” 

“Almost,” You confirm, tone a little less guarded, presumably at Ghost’s more calm reaction, “Then I handled it the best I could, and the guy who killed them got what he deserved.” 

“Which was?” Ghost feels more of that uncomfortable nostalgia bubble up, giving him an uneasy feeling in his gut, as if he knows where this conversation is going. 

“Death,” You answer softly, “And the nameplate on his uniform stolen, which I replaced with mine. I would’ve taken his dog tags, but we didn’t really wear them on missions ‘cause our drill sergeant didn’t care too much.” 

Ghost can put a name to the feeling now. Déjà vu. He takes a deep breath and considers your words for a moment. 

“And the body?” His lips move before he can think. 

“Burnt.” You answer simply, “The whole house. It was mainly drywall, so it took a moment to actually completely catch on fire, but it was quick enough. It also smelled disgusting.” 

“Yeah, I bet,” Ghost swallows, vividly remembering the smell of his own house, before continuing, “He was a soldier for the Navy, too?” 

“Mhm. He was… a Private, I think,” You reply, “I wasn’t too close with him. I wasn’t with anyone.” 

“And so the reason you wear the mask is…?” 

“I didn’t really exist anymore after that,” You hum, “At least, not to them. I was dead in a burned down house, my own house, and was far gone. I like wearing the mask; it keeps me as just another soldier, not as the person who died in that house.” 

“But you didn’t,” Ghost points out, trying to ignore the eerie feeling that only grows stronger the more you talk, “You’re here.” 

“… Yeah, I am,” You say after a moment of thinking, smile evident in your voice, “Doesn’t mean I can take that back, though. ‘s not the best feeling, doing something like that.” 

“Trust me, I know,” Ghost chuckles, “If anyone here, I’d be the person to know, kid.” 

“Really?” You ask, voice more curious like it was before, “Why’s that?” 

“I’ve… weirdly been through almost everything you said,” Ghost admits, “Word for word with the house burning down, actually.” 

“… Huh,” You huff out a small laugh before saying, “I’m wondering if I should feel happy or sad again.” 

“Me too, again,” Ghost smiles, eyes flickering up at Price’s footsteps sound through the hallway, his silhouette slowly coming into view, “One last question.” 

“Shoot.” 

“How’s the weather?” 

“I’m not answering that, fuck you.”

"I found a video tape from when Steve was little!" Dustin said as he burst into the living room.

"How do you know that it's a tape from his childhood?" Nancy asked.

"Because, Nance, Steve refuses to show us any photos from when he was little," Dustin said. "And he's had this shoved all the way into the back of the closet like he was ashamed."

The younger members of the party were all hanging out at Steve's house yet again while the older adults were spending time playing poker. It was a parents only evening. Robin and Steve were in the kitchen while the rest of them were sprawled out in the living room. Argyle and Vickie were out getting desserts with Erica and Holly. Dustin had disappeared early on, claiming to have gone to the restroom.

"Well, you know, it could be a different kind of tape," Eddie grinned.

"What else kind of tape could it be?" Dustin asked.

"You know what? Pop it in and find out," Eddie said.

"Eddie!" Chrissy exclaimed, looking down at Eddie, whose head was in her lap.

"Aren't you curious?" Eddie asked.

"A little," she said. "But we shouldn't dig through Steve’s things without his permission."

"Robin does it all the time," Dustin said.

"Robin's also the only person allowed to do his hair," Lucas said.

"Robin also likes to play with fire now," Max said. "As much as I love her, maybe we shouldn't do everything that Robin does."

"I didn't think you'd have a problem with this, Maxine," Dustin said.

"Don't call me Maxine, asshole," she scowled. "And I learned my lesson from spying on our friends."

Dustin rolled his eyes as she high-fived Mike and popped in the tape. He pressed play. It was Steve’s bedroom and what appeared to be a 16 or 17 year old Steve sitting on his bed. He stared nervously at the camera.

"Are you sure about this?" Steve asked.

"Definitely, Stevie-boy," another guy's spoke from behind the camera. "We both need the practice. We need to be good at this when we finally get girlfriends. Remember? This was your idea."

Steve swallowed as Tommy Hagan came out from behind a camera, holding a long blonde wig.

"Right," Steve said as Tommy sat down next to him.

"Do you want to be the girl, or should I?" Tommy asked.

"I'll be the girl. My idea, right?" Steve asked and took off his shirt.

"You're already wearing the bra. You really do want to be the girl. . .Stevie," Tommy said.

"I like that," Steve blushed. "Stevie."

Tommy put the wig on Steve, cupped his face, and kissed him. Everyone watched the screen in stunned silence as they kissed.

"We should really turn this off," Dustin said. "Yeah, I should not have snooped."

"Yeah," Max said as she continued to look at the TV.

"NO!" Robin shrieked as she entered the room.

She dropped the chips and threw herself at Dustin, tackling him to the ground. Dustin screamed as she wrestled the remote out of his hands. She stopped the tape just as Tommy's hand went up Steve’s bra.

"Well, that wasn't necessary," Steve spoke from the living room doorway. "But thank you, Robin, I love you, too."

"Anytime, babe," Robin said as she pulled off Dustin's hat and hit him with it.

"Dustin, did you go through my things?" Steve asked, his hands on his hips.

"I thought it was a video from when you were a kid," Dustin said. "Are you mad at me?"

"No," Steve said in a quiet voice. "I'm just disappointed."

"No! Yell at me! Call me an asshole!" Dustin exclaimed. "Ground me! Anything but that!"

"Fine!" Steve said, throwing his hands up in the air. "Go stand quietly in the corner of the room or something."

"Sorry, Steve," Dustin muttered as he moved past him to stand in the corner.

"You'll get this back when I say you can!" Robin exclaimed, holding up his hat. "You nosy little shit!"

"Okay, since Dustin is the one in trouble, you guys can ask the questions. Anything at all," Steve said. "I was going to tell you all of this, I just never could find the right time. Yes, I'm bisexual, and yes, sometimes I do enjoy wearing women's underwear."

"How far did you go with that guy?" Max asked.

"With Tommy? Oh, yeah, all the way," Steve said.

"That's Tommy Hagan?" Max asked with raised eyebrows.

"You never met him?" Steve asked. "He became like obsessed with Billy when you guys rolled into town."

"Yeah, Billy was never keen on me meeting any of his friends," Max shrugged.

"Right," Steve said.

"Did you give him your special flower?" El asked.

"Uh, I mean, guys don't really call it their flower, but yeah, we both lost our virginities to each other," Steve said and squinted his eyes at her. "Did you have the talk yet?"

"Uh, Dad started to talk with her about it before Starcourt, and then later, Mom sat down with her," Will said.

"And who called it her special flower?" Robin asked.

"Who do you think?" Jonathan asked.

"Hopper is the most awkward man alive, and coming from me, that's saying something," Robin said.

"So, you and Tommy were a thing?" Nancy asked.

"Well, we were on and off since we were 16. At one point, I did call him my boyfriend until he started dating Carol. He got offended when I broke it off with him. Excuse me, if I didn't want to be the other man," Steve said. "My mom put up with that shit with my dad. I wasn't going to do the same thing. Tommy and I were both hiding that part of our lives but I didn't want to use another person to do it."

"Starting to understand why Tommy hated me so much," Nancy said.

"So, did you always know you liked men, or was that the first time that you figured it out?" Mike asked.

"Well, I always knew that I liked men. I just never thought that I would like women until Nancy came along," Steve said.

"What?!" Nancy exclaimed. "All those women - "

"Yeah, I have no clue where those rumors came from, but I didn't deny them," Steve shrugged.

"So, Wheeler was the first woman you slept with?" Eddie asked.

"Yeah," Steve said.

"Wait, hold on," Nancy said, standing up and moving to stand in front of him. "When I said - when I didn't mean to say that - "

"Yeah, I thought you were right for a while, that I was bullshit, and I was trying to be something that I wasn't with you. After a lot of late nights, I realized that it was absolutely real for me. How I felt about you was real," Steve said.

"It was real for me then, too, Steve," Nancy said softly. "I want you to know that and it still is."

"I'm sorry for not telling you," Steve said.

"You don't have to apologize for not being ready to say anything. You understood that I wasn't ready to celebrate that milestone in my life when Barb died," Nancy said. "I can't imagine keeping that all in, though."

"I didn't want to make it about me when you were still grieving for Barb," Steve said, blushing. "I was just as confused as you were."

"When did you know for certain that it was real?" Nancy asked softly.

"When I finally realized that I would never be with you again, the pain was very real," Steve said.

"I'm sorry," Nancy said softly.

"I'm not. The pain was worth knowing that what I had with you was real. I needed to know for sure. You're here now. That's all that matters," Steve said.

"So. . .that dream you had as a kid?" Nancy asked.

"Oh, yeah, I totally pictured Tommy there, too, and then for a long time after, all I could see was you drop-kicking Tommy out of the RV," Steve said.

"Hm, I definitely wouldn't have drop-kicked him," Nancy said and smiled, "I would have shot him, though. That spot definitely belongs to me. I won."

Nancy leaned forward and kissed him. He smiled against her lips, pulling her in closer. She ran her fingers through his hair, tugging on it gently.

"Woohoo! Looks like we're getting a live show!" Eddie exclaimed.

"Gross! That's my sister!" Mike exclaimed.

Steve pulled away with a laugh, wrapping his arm around Nancy.

"So, you're all okay with this?" Steve asked.

"Yeah, none of that made us uncomfortable," Max said. "Well, except one thing."

"Yeah, you look terrible as a blonde, man," Lucas grinned.

"Okay, so, two things made us uncomfortable," Max said, rolling her eyes.

"It's okay, tell me. We can talk about it," Steve said as Nancy squeezed him.

"Plaid on plaid?" Max asked. "Gross."

"What? Is there something wrong with it?" Steve asked.

"You actually like it?" Chrissy asked.

"Yeah, don't you?" He asked.

They all groaned and threw pillows at him. Eddie got up and actually started beating him with the pillow. Steve laughed and dodged him, moving away from Nancy. Finally, Eddie pinned him to the floor and hit him over the head with the pillow.

"I'm going to beat some good taste into you if it's the last thing I do!" Eddie yelled.

El giggled and used her powers to knock Eddie off of Steve with all of the pillows. Eddie shrieked, and pretty soon, there was an all-out pillow war.

"Aw, damn it! That sounds fun!" Dustin exclaimed.

"You stay there!" Nancy yelled at him. "And you think about what you've done!"

After several minutes, Steve finally decided that Dustin was punished enough and threw a pillow at him. Dustin grinned and picked up a pillow. Eddie over the couch and ran at him, attacking Dustin with a loud roar. Chrissy jumped onto Eddie's back to stop him. Max was on top of Lucas, hitting him with a pillow. El and Mike were going after Robin together while Robin chased after Jonathan. Meanwhile, Nancy and Steve were circling each other, each holding a pillow.

"Come on, Steve, hit me. Don't be afraid just because I'm a woman," Nancy taunted. "Hit me."

"I feel like this happens a lot for them in the bedroom," Robin said.

"Agreed," Max said.

"Again! That's my sister!" Mike yelled and hit Robin.

They heard the front door open, but the fight continued. Argyle, Vickie came in with Erica and Holly after them.

"Oh, hell no," Erica said when she saw Lucas about to hit Max.

Erica dropped a bag and picked up a pillow. She immediately knocked her brother over with it. Holly shrieked with excitement as she jumped on Mike's back.

"I got you, El, I'll save you from Mike!" Holly yelled.

"Vickie, my love!" Robin exclaimed.

"Aw, hi, babe!" Vickie grinned. "We'll put these away, and then we'll join you!"

Argyle and Vickie immediately dove right in when they did return to the living room. Vickie defended Robin and Argyle dove right in front of Jonathan when Max threw a pillow his way. Argyle took it to the chest and fell dramatically to the floor.

"Jonathan, babe, don't forget to feed our plants," Argyle gasped.

The room was filled with shouts and then laughter as they all collapsed on the floor. Nancy pulled Steve to her, letting him tuck his head under her chin.

"Thank God, Erica and Holly wanted to go with the others," Steve said.

"Yeah," Nancy smiled.

"Erica would have been a lot meaner about my room," Steve said.

"It's not that bad," Nancy said.

"Yeah, right," Steve scoffed. "This is it."

"What?"

"This is my dream. Right here, right now," Steve said with a happy sigh.

"So. . .," Nancy said casually. "I don't suppose you still have that wig, do you?"

think about it,El never really got to grow up,sure she has fought deadly monsters and seen the people she loves die and suffer but she’s still a child and really sweet at heart

I think she would act as either a bestie or and older sister to Holly (when hollys 10+) and they would play makeup together and dress up,El becomes obsessed with Disney princesses ofc and they have cute sleepovers with Nancy,Max(who says she hates the disney princess thing but secretly loves it,she’s not fooling anyone they all know she likes it)Robin(she was forced to be there by Steve but she loves the food because omg Karen is a good cook) and they all watch movies together and-god I could talk about this forever 😭

Lucy Carlyle was the best Listener in London, hell, in England, and Anthony Lockwood was proud to call her his friend.

Her abilities came in handy when they were in a sticky situation, and often lead to her finding the Source of a Visitor much more quickly than if she lacked the skill.

Unfortunately, she was also stubborn, and when she refused to do what Lockwood asked for whatever reason it was at the time, she meant it. That then left the other members of Lockwood and Co to fend for themselves, guessing at what the Skull was saying to her through the jar, and hoping that eventually they would fix the issue that had affronted Lucy and she would pay attention to them all again.

Lockwood was particularly annoying when this happened, in George's opinion, because while he could see it clear as day that Lockwood and Lucy were meant for each other, they themselves apparently couldn't. Lockwood got twitchy when Lucy wasn't listening to him, and when Lockwood got twitchy the whole house knew about it.

That was partly why, one sunny morning in July when the doorbell rang and made George spill his tea over himself, muttering expletives under his breath as he wiped it off and opened the front door to see a young person stood with a suitcase and a wide smile, he invited them in at their claim that they were Lockwood's cousin. There was something in the back of his mind that told him that they might be able to sort Lockwood out, and he hoped to everything that he was right.

"Y/n. I did write ahead to let him know I was coming, but I doubt he actually read it if you weren't expecting me."

"He didn't mention anything. George," he said, sticking out a hand and wincing when Y/n grabbed it with force.

"Nice to meet you, George! I don't need to stay here, by the way. I can find accommodation elsewhere if there isn't any room." Charm must have run in the family, because while George didn't normally find himself warming up to people right away, there was something about Y/n that made him want to be friends. He found that he was making excuses for Lockwood and his lack of preparation, or perception, and wondered what the hell was going on.

"George? Who is it?" Lockwood's voice rang down the stairs, and a moment later his body appeared, bright pink socks poking out from under his trousers. "Y/n? What are you doing here?"

"I did write," they said, amused smile on their face. Lockwood looked embarrassed as he moved forward for a hug, wrapping his arms around Y/n's frame.

"Sorry. We've had a lot of mail recently. Why... are you here? Not that it's not lovely to see you!"

"If you'd read my letter then you'd know, dipshit. Mum's got a business trip and Dad has to work extra hours because we're falling behind on bills, so I thought I'd come and stay with you guys. Like I said to George, if you don't have room then I can find somewhere else to stay; it's not a problem."

"Nonsense. We'll find a spot for you here. I think we still have a blow-up mattress somewhere, so we can put that wherever it will fit."

"Thank you. Oh, hello!" Lucy had appeared at the sound of voices in the hallway, and upon sighting her Y/n had waved in greeting. "I'm Y/n, Lockwood's cousin. It's lovely to meet you!"

"Lucy, hi. Sorry, Lockwood didn't mention a cousin?"

"His fault. He very rarely talks about his biological relatives at the best of times, so I don't blame you for not knowing about me. You're Lucy Carlyle, yes?"

"Uh- yeah?"

"Lovely! I've read pretty much everything about you in the papers. Not in a creepy way," they said at the alarmed look on Lucy's face. "I'm a Listener too, so I just wanted to see if I could learn anything from you."

"Oh."

A pause followed, where everybody was stood in the hallway (although Holly had yet to appear) just staring at each other. Lockwood cleared his throat, trying to clear the awkwardness in the air.

"Anyone for tea?"

George was intrigued.

He was often intrigued, to be fair, but something about Y/n made him want to study them under a microscope. Within five minutes of arriving, they had managed to stop Lockwood's twitching, get Lucy talking to Lockwood again, and had somehow made Holly laugh without a care in the world.

Even Lockwood himself couldn't do that half the time, and his cousin had turned up and done it right away.

George was glad that Lucy and Lockwood were on speaking terms again, and she'd stopped being quite so stubborn about not working the next case with them (although Lockwood had been forced to change his plan of action around to accommodate). Currently the five of them were sat in the kitchen, cups of tea being passed around while Y/n chatted to Holly about something or other. Lockwood had planted himself on the chair next to Lucy's, and George had to suppress an eye-roll at his boss' need to be so physically close to the girl he liked. Why he didn't just fess up, George had no idea, but if one of them didn't make a move soon he was going to have to do it for them.

Maybe he could lock them in the basement together until something happened. Then he'd have the rest of the house to himself, nice and peaceful.

Y/n seemed to have noticed their cousin's behaviour too, raising an eyebrow at George across the table when they saw Lockwood sit down, handing Lucy her tea with a soft smile. George had only shaken his head, exasperation written all over his face.

The conversation died down for a moment, everybody sipping their tea and munching on the biscuits that had been laid out on a plate, until suddenly Y/n gasped. The sound was so loud and unexpected that George spilt his tea over himself for the second time that morning, and he was just moving to grab some tissue when they spoke.

"Is that a Sunrise Corporation jar?"

Lockwood was the one to reply, muttering a hesitant yes.

"May I?" Y/n asked, already reaching for the jar that had hastily had a cloth thrown over it. Lucy nodded, her expression nervous. The skull came into view, and despite the early hour and the sunlight streaming in a faint green glow could be seen. "Holy shit, this is awesome. Wait," they furrowed their brow, "aren't these kept by Fittes?"

"I might have taken it as a parting gift when I got fired," George said, sitting back down in his chair. His hands still stung slightly from the tea.

"A 'parting gift', huh?" Y/n's eyes were practically sparkling, but they quickly looked away when something else drew their attention. "Wait." They were staring at the ghost jar. "Wait. Lucy Carlyle, is this a Type Three ghost?!"

"Uh... yeah?"

"Could you make out what it just said? Because all I got was some unintelligible mutterings."

"He- actually, it's probably best that you didn't hear what the skull said."

"Hang on a minute," Lockwood piped up. "Y/n, how come you could hear something?"

"Oh, I can talk to ghosts."

"You can what?!"

"You heard me. Don't make me say it again just because your hearing's gone, old man."

"We're basically the same age!"

"You're older though."

"Stop changing the subject!"

Y/n sighed, rubbing a hand over their face as they sunk back into their chair. "I can talk to ghosts. Not all of them, and it doesn't always work, but most of the time I can hold some sort of a conversation with Type Ones. I haven't been able to get much further than that. Well," they eyed the jar in front of them. "Until today. Although I couldn't actually make the words out, so I guess technically it doesn't count."

"How long have you been able to do this?" Holly asked after a significant pause in the conversation. Y/n shrugged.

"Not long. I figured out that I could hear some ghosts better than others a good few years ago, it just took a little bit longer to realise that I could communicate with them too."

"And you never told me?" Lockwood frowned, a flash of hurt passing over his face.

"You never listened, which is kinda funny, actually, given how much you were always too busy trying to tell me about your 'excellent Listener and amazing friend Lucy Carlyle'," Y/n said, mimicking Lockwood's voice as they spoke and emphasising the word 'Listener' to drive their point home. Lockwood himself starting blushing, the back of his neck and the tips of his ears going red, and Lucy looked mildly awkward sat between the two of them.

"I don't sound like that," Lockwood protested after a moment of spluttering, and Y/n just snorted.

"You absolutely do. Holly or George, either one of you can answer this: has my cousin proposed yet, or does he need to grow a pair?"

Lockwood and Lucy both gaped at Y/n, and Holly and George shared a look before answering at the same time.

"They don't even know that-"

"Really it's ridiculous how-"

"-they're obsessed with each other and-"

"-they don't even notice that they have feelings and-"

"it's so frustrating!" Both of them finished their sentences at the same time, and in the same way, and the other three stared at Holly and George's outburst. Y/n recovered first, sending a smug smile in the direction of their cousin, who was stubbornly ignoring everybody else in the room.

"You know, I've been around the two of you for what, twenty minutes maybe? And I noticed whatever weird thing you have going on right away. So maybe you need to start listening, Lockwood, and then you won't be quite so mopey all the time 'cause you'll have a girlfriend."

Lockwood himself had nothing to say, it seemed, too embarrassed at the entire situation to do anything but hide behind his hands and blush, and Lucy looked like she had long since zoned out of the conversation to save herself from further awkwardness. George didn't bother hiding his eye-roll this time, and even exaggerated it a little to make it more obvious.

"They're not exactly wrong, you know. Anyway, I think that us three," he gestured to himself, Y/n and Holly, "should head off somewhere else. I've got some questions for your cousin, Lockwood, and I'm sure Holly won't want to be left alone with you two." He stood up, scraping his chair against the kitchen tiles and making his way over to the kitchen door, and Y/n and Holly followed shortly after. "We'll see you later, yeah?" George didn't give them a chance to reply, instead ushering the other two out and closing the door shut behind him, breathing a sigh of relief. Y/n looked amused by the whole situation, a faint smile playing on their face as they looked past George at the door.

"Do you think they'll finally confess?" Holly asked, her tone hopeful.

"I really really hope so. I don't know what more we can do, to be honest."

"I can always try and communicate with your skull in a jar. I imagine it'll want someone new to gossip with, so I can get all the good stuff," Y/n said, and George was half tempted to go back and grab the jar off the table to get them to try.

He was stopped, though, by the sound of the door opening behind them, and Lockwood and Lucy stepped out, faces bright with blushes.

"Oh. Didn't think that you lot would be... alright," Lockwood looked pleased, and George only needed to take one look at the two of them to know what had happened.

"Finally. Can we test out Y/n's ability now that you two are together?"

"George!" Lucy hissed, resembling an angry cat. Lockwood only laughed, nodding.

"I'd like to test some things too, actually. Only if you're alright with it?"

"Course not. As long as you get me food I don't mind."

"Deal."

El walks up to Mike -- they’re face-to-face. She places her hand on Mike’s face.

Mike feels like a deer in the headlights, he can’t move or react.

“I love you too.”

Oh shit. Mike remembers what he blurted out now.

El leans in and before Mike can say anything she’s kissing him. He doesn't kiss back. He doesn’t even close his eyes. Mike feels sick, like the world is slowly closing in on him and he can’t breathe. Mike pushes her off.

“Wait, El – I- I don't want this!” He cries.

hello, its me again, the self insert bastard

i have SO MANY thoughts about Jotaro and Kakyoin being childhood friends, it's only for a short time because Kakyoin's dad's job causes him to move around a lot; but they reunite in middle school only for Kakyoin to move away a month later AND THEN, Jotaro gets in an accident where he hits his head and forgets, along with him starting to show an aggressive nature [ due to said injury ] + combined with the harassment he faced because of Japan's xenophobia and then people suddenly wanting to be all over him one the Joestar Genes (tm) kick in

Which leads to DIO trying to take advantage of this bond between the two by sending Kakyoin after Jotaro in some sick mind game and Kakyoin expecting Jotaro to falter in their battle only for Jotaro to not have a single goddamn memory about Kakyoin and beating him stupid.

Which ALSO adds a layer to the scene where Jotaro pulls the fleshbud from Kakyoin's head and Kakyoin being near in tears as he cant understand why Jotaro saved him after very clearly not recognizing him and Jotaro is just, idk bro [ deep down his soul is like I GOTTA ]

theres like so many MORE layer to this when the self insert universe lore comes into play but i dont want to barf it up all at once because i want this to slap people in the face when its revealed in full [ when i can finally write this, i gotta finish the current project im on before diving into more ]

what if in the accident you mentioned Jotaro couldn't remember anything. Like, brain blank, had to relearn a lot of basic skills and is having to essentially start living life again from scratch

Holly is of course a god send through it all. She never expects anything from him even though he's supposed to know who she is, and despite the undoubted amount of pain she's experiencing seeing him like this she lets him get closer and comfortable at his own pace, never making him to do anything he isn't comfortable with. She does what she can to help him remember things, but also does what she can to help him keep the new memories he makes (another symptom of amnesia is having difficulty making new memories too which will honestly just adding more frustration). Maybe she gives him a small notebook and maybe even a video camera to help him out

she doesn't try to mould him into how he used to be and just..... lets him be who he wants to be

and honestly...... when he does start school it's no wonder he retaliates. He probably pestered Holly for months to let him go back to school, but when he does...... the world is crueler than he thought. It's not at all like his home with Holly's warm hugs and phone calls with Joseph's bad jokes and crazy stories and Suzie's gentle encouragement and advice. Instead, it's cruel with harsh gazes waiting for him to mess up and whispers he can just barely hear and rules he can't understand

it frustrates him and scares him but most of all it confuses him. And because he doesn't know how to respond to it all, he retaliates with anger. Anger was easy. It made sense, it was clean cut and knew what it wanted him to do and gave him quick, easy explainations of how to do it

(Holly hates it, he knows. He can see it in how the spark in her eyes dims a fraction every time she gets a call from the school, how her eyes will linger on every bruise and scrape when he comes back home long after the sun set, how she always looks so sad whenever he hangs out by himself without any friends)

((But she never says anything. She still keeps the first aid kit under the sink stocked up, she still makes him his favorite foods (new and old) every few weeks, she still helps him go over all his video footage and journal entries, and in those soft moments behind the wood walls and shoji doors that keep the harsh world out, Jotaro can't help but wish he could remember what to feel instead of anger))

but of course, Dio and Kakyoin have no idea about any of this. As far as Kakyoin's aware, Jotaro simply..... forgot about him. There was no recognition in Jotaro's eyes, so hesitation in his punches, no acknowledgment of the past they shared, of how much they'd meant to each other

And BOY that's painful to learn, that the one and only friend he ever made, who stubbornly stuck to his side no matter what he did to try and scare him off, who accepted Hierophant's existence without hesitation even though he couldn't see the spirit, simply....... forgot about him completely. Whether it was because he didn't care or because in the grand scheme of things Kakyoin really wasn't that important, it burns in a way he hadn't predicted it would

this definitely changes his and Jotaro's dynamic, with Kakyoin trying VERY hard to pretend he doesn't care and is completely unaffected and Jotaro who really has no fucking clue what's up with this red haired kid

and who knows. Maybe Kakyoin was a pinch familiar to Jotaro but he brushed it off since there were a lot of things in his life that felt vaguely familiar. Maybe they knew each other before his accident, but they probably weren't that close since the guy hadn't tried bringing up the past yet. Or even worse, maybe it was a one sided type thing and Kakyoin had no idea who he was at all

(Jotaro tries not to acknowledge the slight disappointment he feels at that thought. His knowledge who he is, who he was, was almost entirely limited to his mother and grandparents who lived across a whole ocean. No friends, no extended family, just the three of them left filling in the gaps. The idea of there being a fourth person who properly knew him, someone his age...... ah, but no matter, it probably wasn't anything)

also for some added angst....... just. when Jotaro starts getting more positive(?) attention at school, what if some people tried pretending they knew each other before his accident to try and get closer. Just to give this boi some ✨ trust issues ✨

and honestly, there are so many ways the reveal and reconnection can go and I don't know which one to pick. We could have the crack-y "Joseph makes a joke about it and Kakyoin's brain soft reboots" to the softer "in a moment of vulnerability Jotaro talks about the amnesia because he's starting to genuinely see the Crusaders as friends" to an angsty "Kakyoin reveals he knew Jotaro in a moment of stress/high emotion and Jotaro slightly flips his shit because This Guy Knew Him And Didn't Say Anything"
