earth bound sculpture. Pouring the last plaster piece of the head mold. I pour a bit and then use the brush to get the bubbles to come up away from the surface of the plasticine. Then finish the pour. As it dries, I use the mold knife to clean and make it flat. The mold is done! It needs to dry for a while. Let's celebrate. earth bound sculpture. Process of making the mold of the head. It turned out that I made 4 plaster mold pieces for this head. Here's the making of the last one, which is generally the easiest. The mold well is created by all the other pieces, so I only had to do a little bit of work to finish up the well. I'll make videos when my helper is back in the studio. earth bound sculpture. I've finished the head and the curls in plasticine. In order to make plaster molds, which are rigid, I have to cut the curls off and make separate molds of each of them and the head. Once the molds are made, I can make countless casts and sculptures. I made the mold for half of the rock and completed the first half of the rock in paper.
