gah i see plannerposting on my dash and it's wonderful

but

i can't do planners. don't get me wrong. i LOVE them and have done the thing where it's actually a joyful and fun thing to use, with highlighters and stickers and colored pens and all that. i genuinely miss using my planner!

the problem is grep. or the lack of grep. in addition to the fact that handwriting is always harder to scan than a good font, and the legibility of my handwriting is sometimes better or worse. sometimes my hands are more shaky than usual and i just want to type instead. sometimes i want to search for a specific string that i know has showed up before but i have no idea where i put it (even though the tactile act of writing usually helps me remember where i put things down)

it's rough because i really do love pen & paper. i love the tactility of it; i love the craft of it; i even love the smell of it. i love having physical artifacts that i can page through with my hands, not just something digital that's in a directory or in a piece of software i'll forget about when i'm not using it. but the computer is the thing i always have on my person via my phone, and the planner is an extra thing to carry around if i want that information on hand...

Nakita ko lang din sa pinakalast page ng 2012 planner ko. Napakapointless ng mga nakalagay dito pero nakakatuwa. Its been 2 years at ang dami ng nangyari. Ang mga ganito, tinatawanan na lang.

Dear Planner,

Sorry, I didn't stick till the end. tapos na ang 2012 pero hindi kita napuno. Ukaw ang pinakaunang planner ko at hindi kita nagamit hanggang sa last page. In short, sinayang kita.

Naalala ko araw-araw ako nag-iisip ng bagong malalagay dito pero nung nagtagal, unti uingti akong nawala. Akong ako. Ayoko na tuloy maging ako.

Parang kay *insert name*, Nung una effort, araw araw tinetext ng good morning, surprise sa birthday niya. Bonding dito, bonding doon. Yung gabing yakap mo lang siya at yakap ka niya. Yung tatawagan ka sa gabi at ilang oras kayong mag-uusap. kakantahan ka. papangitiin ka. Gigisingin ka sa kurot sa pisngi. At kapag wala siya sa gabi na matutulog ka, magpopost ng kung anu-ano sa fb, twitter or text. Yung mga umagang tatawagan ka para gisingin ka ng 5 AM kasi may pasok ka ng 7 AM. At eto ka nanaman babangon kasi siya yung gumising sayo. Tatawagan ka ng Accounting class, magC-CR ka para sagutin lang ang tawag niya, kasi lunch break niya. Yung unmagang dadalhan ka ng donut, yung gabing mapapadaan kayo sa donut shop at bibilhan ka ng donut. yung pupuntahan ka sa bahay dahil may sakit ka. Yung late night meetings at iiwanan ka ng cinnamon swirl sa labas ng org room. Yung hahawakan yung kamay mo at ipapakita ang picture ng pamilya niya at sasabihing "Ma, Pa, si ano". Yung inaasar ka dahil sa pimple mo sa ilong, yung hihilain yung mo at yun na yung hi niya pag napadaan. Yung aantayin ka niyang tumingin muna bago siya lalapit para mag-hi. Yung mga tingin niya habang naglalaro ng basketball at yung tingin niya kapag nakakashoot siya ng bola. Yung nahuli mong may page sa safari niya na nasa blog mo.

Yung una mo siyang nakita sa bldg. na napalingon ka na lang at napatanong "Sino yun?". Yung kinikilig ka dahil lang nakasalubong mo siya. Yung bigla kang umupo sa mga chairs sa tapat ng Dean's office dahil nasa loob siya. Yung minsang naaksidente kang napangiti at nakita ka niya. Yung mga pasimple mong tingin kapag nandyan siya. Yung napakasaya mo na makita siya dahil minsanan mo lang siya talaga makita kahit nasa iisang bld lang kayo. Yung pasimple kang titingin sa cafeteria dahil sila ang magluluto doon ngayon. Yung ikaw ang pinakaunang pinuntahan niya para makipagshake hands kahit nasa pinakalikod ka noong nangangampanya siya. Yung pinilit mo ang tropa at buong klase para lang iboto siya

Absent last monday due to high fever, had our first quiz in Phil. Gov, MAN!! Reminiscing my 2012 planner

This was the year I had too much ups and downs, with life, school as well as my love life. My old planner started dull, went colorful, then dull again.

Parang yung lovelife ko that time, sa simula kasi broken hearted pa sa past tapos biglang may dumating at nagsasabog ng kulay pero nawala na din nung nagtagal.

See how depressed I was? Maybe at these times, I was really sad. pero ngayon tinatawanan ko na lang. Kasi okay na ako. Matagal na akong okay.

A highlight of the year. It's my birthday month so yeah, it's pretty colorful around March pages. Hindi ko nga alam kung ilang oras ko ginagawa yung mga ganito eh. Lol

In a span of weeks time, I'm getting better and better. We all have done things we weren't proud of and mine was to get a hard time moving on.

Aminin na natin, mahirap naman talaga kung minahal mo yung tao and it was never anyone's fault na mafall at magmahal. Tao lang naman tayo at it's really in our instincts to care for others or at least someone.

Intense yung mga nangyayari sa buhay ko ng mga panahong 'to. Maraming school works, papers and assignments, idagdag mo pa ang events class at events sa org ko. Kumbaga nagpapakasuperhero na nga daw ako ng mga panahong ito.

"Wag kang magpakasuperhero, tao ka lang din, napapagod." Galing yan sa pinakaimportanteng tao sa buhay ko ng panahong yan. Siya yung naging kape ko sa mga madaling araw na kailangan ko maging productive.

Hanggang sa dumating na ganyan nanaman yung nararamdaman ko. Hindi ako dinedeny na may fault ako sa kung ano man ang nangyari but still, I kinda wished for a chance.

Until one day came and I didn't knew what to write/draw/doodle anymore. Kasama ng sort of artistic feels ko, nagfade din siya sa buhay ko.

That person's my greatest regret and the one I got away.
