Guzma is a chill dad, but he’s extremely overprotective. He acts like his child’s best friend but if anyone were to look at his kid the wrong way it’s their funeral.

James is the kinda dad to do dumb stuff on purpose to make his kid smile and laugh. The type to wear a pink skirt and have a little tea party with his daughter. He would do anything for his kid.

- Guzma’s super chill with it! Honestly, he’s prone to passing out unceremoniously too, so he won’t take it as a bit shocker. In the beginning of your relationship he might be a little surprised if you’re in the middle of a conversation and suddenly just close your eyes and drift off, but the more he gets to know you, the more playful he gets with it!

- If he notices you growing sleepy, he’ll heave you into his arms with a laugh and carry you until you doze off, mumbling a little, “I gotcha babe, close your eyes for a bit.”, and pressing a kiss to your forehead or cheeks.

- Definitely gets one of those do not disturb signs for your room and hangs it up whenever you’re sleepy so that no grunts come bursting into the room like they usually do.

- And speaking of the grunts, Guzma will absolutely have intimidation mode on if so much as one of them accidentally comes in. He is not letting your rest be disturbed.

- He’ll soften up though almost immediately when you begin to wake up, smiling fondly and pressing a kiss to your cheeks, forehead, or lips, almost always murmuring, “Heya babe, have a good rest?”.

- Sometimes you’ll literally pull him along with you whenever you drift off, and, not wanting to get up and possibly wake you, Guzma just lies there next to you and looks up at the ceiling. Sometimes he may even fall asleep with you too!

✩Dating Kukui was an experience, to say the least. While you two weren’t living together yet, there was always something exciting going on.

☾It was not uncommon for you to come over and, once his home was in sight, you’d start to hear crashing or crunching or just all around chaos. You were only worried about this in the beginning; eventually, you just learned it was his own type of research.

☾(You had an agreement that you would call before entering, JUST in case. Not very fun, getting a face full of Flamethrower!)

☾And of course, Kukui had many other responsibilities, too. Developing the Alolan Pokemon League was a secret you were in on. Then there were all of the new trainers he had to guide, too. What free time he had was limited, but he made sure to include you in it.

☾….Most of the time.

✩Sometimes, when he was supposed to have free time, he would randomly flake out on you, or say he “had something to do.” Nothing wrong with that, he has his own life, after all. What bothered you is that he wouldn’t usually tell you what he was up to. You were his partner, and you didn’t like the feeling that he was… hiding something from you.

✩Overall, there was a pattern to his absence. He was often gone on the weekends and in the evenings, and it seemed like it came in spurts. He’d be busy for a week or two, then be more available, then he would be busy again.

✩But, you didn’t want to be one of those creepy partners who tried to do detective work or anything like that. You trusted him. You didn’t think he was up to anything weird, or even anything that would hurt you or anyone else. You just wanted to know what he was up to…

✩Eventually, though, you caught him in a direct lie.

✩You texted him to see if he’d be free on a Saturday. He said not during the day; he’d be wrapped up in some pretty tricky and dangerous lab work for most of the day, but would drop down at your house later tonight.

✩You sighed as you saw the text show up on your phone, and told him that was fine. At the very least, you could get errands done before he came over.

☾You went to Hau'oli City to do your shopping, which took a couple hours. You planned to spend a little more time in town, but found yourself tuckered out fairly quickly. You decided to just cut your shopping short, even though there was plenty of day left.

☾You walked back to Iki town, passing the lab as you were about to go through Route 1. You thought for a moment. It was rather odd that Kukui would tell you not to come because he was doing “something dangerous…”

☾Honestly, much of what he does is “dangerous” in your mind. There is basically NOTHING he does that ISN’T dangerous. The man often put holes in the ceiling with his research into Pokemon moves. You had a repair person on speed dial for that very reason.

☾So… If this was WORSE than his normal work… Needless to say, you were worried. You’re not sure why you didn’t think of this before.

✩So, you quickened your pace, slowing when you saw the lab. The bright Alolan sun was shining, the waves lapping calmly at the sand… and not another sound beyond the ocean. Normally, if Kukui was working with the Pokemon, you’d hear all sorts of crashing and banging and explosions by now. Yet, all was peaceful, for the moment.

☾As you approached the lab, you still heard nothing. Taking a chance, you opened the door with your key and went in. All the lights were off. Rockruff greeted you with a happy bark as you turned on the light, the little Pokemon rushing up to you for pets. You gave the Pokemon what it wanted, but were distracted with trying to figure things out. Where was Kukui?

☾And, hardly a second after that thought, you heard the jingling of keys. The sound came from the back door. You waved Rockruff to follow you, just in case you needed protection. It wasn’t a major concern, as Melemele tended to be one of the most peaceful islands, but you could never be sure.

✩As you got to the door, it opened. You froze. Luckily, it ended up being a familiar face: your boyfriend.

✩You both stood there, staring at each for a minute until Kukui broke the silence. “Hey, uh… What’re you doing here? I was going to meet you at your house, right?”

☾You told him you got worried about his research, to which he broke out laughing. “Sorry, Y/N,” he said in between laughs, “It’s nice that you thought of me, but... you know, I’ve been doing this for years! It’ll be fine, promise!”

✩But, something else was on your mind. This has been going on so long, so you just went out and finally said it. You asked him where he went. Wasn’t he supposed to be in the lab all day?

☾He got visibly nervous at this; you knew he wasn’t the best liar. Even when he was trying to hide presents from you, it was easy to read him. His voice usually changes, and his expressions become more animated. He gave you an awkward smile, shifting uncomfortably. “Just, ah, had to move things outside. Was getting way too Overheat-ed for the lab, so I figured the beach would be safer!”

✩You were about to let him off with that explanation, but then noticed something poking out of his lab pocket. Something bright and colorful… Curious, you asked him what it was.

☾He froze again, stuttering a bit. “O-oh, it’s nothing- just something I picked up along the beach, must’ve washed up to shore…”

☾You asked to see it. Kukui did not respond. Eventually, with a sigh, looking defeated, he took the thing out of his pocket and handed it to you.

☾It was something fabric-y, like a stretching fabric. You unfolded it, and… it was a mask? It looked familiar… Red, yellow, green and blue, the colors of some of the more common Pokemon types.

☾Then, it hit you. This was a wrestling mask. Wrestling. Akala. The… Battle Royal Dome… THE MASKED ROYAL?!

✩You stared at him. It seemed so obvious now. The body type (Kukui is surprisingly ripped for a professor), the facial hair, voice, mannerisms… Even battling styles!

☾“So… You’re…” You start.

☾“Yeah… Look, I’m really sorry, Y/N. I should’ve told ya sooner. I just like keeping things, well, separate, you know?”

✩Rockruff whined a bit. The little puppy sensed the tension, and seemed a bit worried. They bit the hem of Kukui’s lab coat and pulled a little. He bent down to soothe the Pokemon. Eventually, you guide them both over to a couple of stools on the other end of the lab. This was going to take a while.

✩In truth, you were a little hurt. You were happy he had hobbies; if anything, relieved. He worked so hard all the time, you’re glad he had something he did mostly for fun. But WHY couldn’t he just have told you?

☾“Why? Why did you hide all this? How long have you been doing this?”

☾He leaned back a bit, rubbing his face before responding. “Well… I wanna do both things. But, in a way, I think most people won’t be able to separate them. If everyone knows I’m a researcher who ALSO fights in Battle Royal challenges, they can’t see past that. Some other researchers are pretty serious, and they might not take my research seriously, after seeing I’m basically a celebrity over there. And, it’s not so bad on the other side, the other fighters don’t really care. But, the fans will sure see me different, you know?”

☾He sighed. You let him keep talking. “Sometimes, I just kinda want a break, Y/N. I love my research. I think about it when I wake up, and it’s the last thing I think about before going to sleep. Well… Most of the time. That’s been changing lately.” He said with a wink.

✩You laugh a little. You knew he loved his research, you didn’t have any problem with it. It was just a part of being in a relationship with a rather passionate researcher.

☾He continues. “But, that’s basically what I like about being the Masked Royal. It keeps me from, like, getting Burn-ed Up. I love all that research, but it’s a break. It’s fun. If everyone knew I was the professor AND the Masked Royal, that’d all be over.”

☾At this point, you began to feel bad. Despite being his partner, you not only didn’t realize he was the Masked Royal (even though it was SO obvious), you didn’t notice how much stress he’s been under. It’s true, he had a ton to do. But he basically always did it with a smile. Just goes to show that even something you love can just be too much, sometimes...

✩And after all that, all you could do was pull him into an embrace.

☾“You alright, Y/N?”

☾You told him yes, but also told him how you felt. As you did so, you felt him hold you tighter.

☾……..Which was awkward, considering the two of you were currently seated on two tiny stools with a little rock puppy at your feet, fast asleep.

☾But as you got to the end of your thoughts, he pulled you into a kiss, one hand resting on the back of your head. Deep, but not sensual - a loving kiss. It lasted just long enough for you to recollect yourself, and then ended with him continuing to hold you.

✩“I’m sorry for putting you through that. I really am. I should have thought how this would’ve made you feel.”

☾You tell him it’s okay; now that everything’s out, and you’ve heard his side, it all makes sense.

✩You let a few moments pass in silence, enjoying being close to him. A thought comes to you.

☾“Think you can get me tickets to your next match?” You ask, smiling up at him.

☾“Uh, sure.” He pauses; his eyes suddenly light up. “Wait, you wanna see me? In a match?”

☾You nod.

☾He jumps up, pulling you up with him into another hug (and knocking over a stool). At least standing and hugging was easier on the back. Rockruff, startled, jumped aside as well, looking up curiously at the two of you.

☾“Next match is tomorrow! How does front row seats sound? You’ll feel the gust with each Darkest Lariat, the heat from Incineroar’s flame, the-”

✩He keeps going. And going. And you let him, happy to see him excited. The rest of the day was spent talking about the Battle Royal, what you should expect, his own thoughts on Battle Royal fighting in general, how he started fighting there… Everything. Basically, he caught you up on everything you missed so far.

✩As planned, you eventually dropped by your house at the end of the day, heading to bed early so you’d be ready for what tomorrow had in store for you.

okay so basically it follows a ton of my headcanons/fave fan theories + a ThatMilky(TM) concept  ie:

Intro to the story!

Trainer Go is a field researcher for Team Instinct and is studying to become a Professor. They are sent to Alola to study the local ghost types and to gather information on Alolan variants! They are Sun&Moon’s cousin so there will be interactions between the three! Their dream is to run a sanctuary for ghost types so that people will be less afraid of them :( In the story they live in a secluded beach house called “The House of Horrors” that is home to all of the ghosts they care for.

Guzma x Reader (Help me god I'm sicker than hell and I don't know what I'm doing.)

I’ve had an upper respiratory infection for the past week… yay me… ugh.

Thought I might write this because I’m sick as a dog still, and I’ve been yearning for the waifu. Guzma’s rather rough and tumble care is nice too. And it’s nice to dream.

This is small and stupid and I just had to get it out because I love Guzma. And I need something. Anything to cure this damn sickness.

It's the bone rattling cough that wakes him. Minutes ago he was dreaming peacefully of his nightly routine, consisting of your soft legs wrapped around his waist, kisses and bites and spankings and your soft mewls of happiness, but the coughing snaps him out of it. He rises from the bed like a cadaver coming back to life to see you hunched on the edge, hacking away and making a soft moan of pain every time it passes. Too far gone into it to notice him crawling over to you. The piddling of water against the roof causes him to feel the mattress, hoping to hell he doesn’t have to move it again because of the roof. But it’s not the damp that’s gotten to you, your side is dry. It has to be your damn allergies. It always is.

"What the hell babe?!" Guzma demands, more concerned than annoyed, "You sound like you're dying!"

No response save for that same cough that shakes him to his core, causing him to wince every time he hears the wheezing fit you have trying to regain breath in your lungs. You're his right hand, his best girl, the big bad second admin of Team Skull, you're not supposed to be doing shit like getting sick. Although it happens more often than he likes to admit. Hell, everyone gets violently ill at least once in Team Skull. If not from the damp and the mold, mostly because of the lack of actual money to have a physical exam or to get medicine to treat ailments. Immediately his arms wrap around you tightly, and he flinches when he feels the feverish burn of your skin. Probably a sinus infection, or bronchitis if worse comes to worse.

"God dammit!" he snarls, "I told you not to stay out in the rain! Your allergies were already acting up in Malie Garden and I told you not to wait up too late for me to come home from Lusamine’s creepy place. What did I tell you babe?! I fucking told you! Stubborn ass little shit."

"...Owie... Guzy I don't feel good..." you whine in reply, voice no more than a rasp of pain. Your hands grip his shirt helplessly as he ushers you back into bed, admonishing you for being so careless. The coughing doesn't stop and neither does your whining once he's covered you in the green duvet.

"Just get into bed and try to get warm baby. It's just gonna get worse if you get up."

 "Guzy... My throat hurts and I can't get warm. Cuddles..." you whimper.

 Now he knows you’re really sick. Every time you become ill it's as though you're barely old enough to be taking the island challenge again. You start getting grabby, your voice rises by three octaves and you start talking mushy with him. And he suddenly becomes "Guzy".  Not Guzma. Not baby. Not even Daddy. A default tactic meant to gain his sympathy, but at least signifies you're not too far gone. Normally he doesn't mind your antics, rather he appreciates and soaks up the affection, but he hates it when you become so utterly helpless and he can't go to the expense of making it better. And there's no way in holy hell he would bother to ask Lusamine for money to see a doctor. Call it a pride thing, call it a protecting you from being in her debt thing, there are just some things he doesn't want to expose you to. It's times like these when he feels as though he's failed you as your lover. What else can he do except let it ride out?

"You need to sweat." He insists when you try pushing the duvet away. The least he can do is keep you warm, and eventually he notices a thin bead of sweat across your forehead. He leaves only for a few moments every now and again, once to take a leak and then again to get you some water when you cough feebly for it. Now Guzma feels the heat radiating from your forehead when he lays a hand on you. When he starts putting a second layer of socks on your feet he notices that you've shut your eyes rather tightly. There's only a faint whistle emanating from your one good nostril, and it takes a good hour before your coughing begins to quiet down.

"Baby?" He asks tentatively. A soft "mph" is heard in response. Guzma becomes encouraged when your breathing starts to become more even, at least now you can go back to sleep.

“Guzy…” you whisper. He leans in close.

“Thank you…”

“Yeah you better thank me.” He replies, affection dripping heavily in his tone causing you to smile, “And don’t be getting all smart ass and smug with me like that. You owe me after this is done with, and I don’t want to hear any bitching that your throat’s too sore.”

Hi it’s me again I was wondering if you could do tai ham, Leon, brock and Guzman x insecure reader if you don’t feel comfortable about then you don’t have

Leon is good at comforting you, he hates the idea of you being insecure about yourself though. He thinks you’re really great and he’s familiar with the terrible feeling so he doesn’t like knowing you’re going through it. Often helps through jokes.

Brock is all about pep talks and trying to convince you that you’re amazing!! He says it with so much genuine sincerity, there’s no doubt in his mind and he says it in such a matter of a fact way it’s almost impossible to deny it as truth.

Guzma is insecure too, but he truly doesn’t know how to help aside from that “it’s just shit in your head, but I get it” he doesn’t ever fault you for it, even if you act rude or anything because of your insecurities. He’s the most understanding.

Gary thinks you’re adorable and super fun to tease and embarrass, but he often worries about you tripping over something. The way you talk about yourself and how you were treated makes him feel a bit of guilt for how he’s treated ash in the past.

Gladion worries about you a lot, you’re going to give this poor boy a heart attack. He already finds himself worrying about Lillie ;( but he loves you so much, he’s positive you and his sister are besties.

Bede was a hit mean to you at first but he eventually came around. He will never understand how you can just take his shit and not fight back at all, he feels bad and because of this is overprotective.

Guzma is overprotective to the max. He loves to flirt with you and everything, but he’s the only one allowed to tease you given how you take most jokes from others.

A = Attractive (What do they find attractive about their partner?) he finds your strength the most attractive part about you. How great you are with Pokémon battles, even if you’re the shy or gentle type, he can sense how strong you are and he loves that part of you.

B = Baby (Do they want a family? Why/Why not?) well, so considering the fact you’re both children and he hasn’t once thought about it, no. When he’s much MUCH older he would need to warm up to the idea but would be okay with it in the end. For awhile he’s scared of ending up like his mom in anyway.

C = Cuddle (How do they like to cuddle?) typically doesn’t care how you cuddle, as long as you don’t see his face because it’s as red as can be. Usually has his face in your neck.

D = Dates (What kind of Dates do you go on?) might take you on walks, pretty simple dates but he likes taking you to cafes. He just doesn’t like being noticed in public so he tries to take you to more quiet areas.

Took awhile since he doesn’t understand his feelings, he would realize after hau says something. He would deny it at first, but when he sees you beat him again in a Pokémon battle, he realizes it for real.

Absolutely. He has a hard time showing it all the time but he absolutely will show you how appreciative he is of you.

No. He’s very honest. He believes honesty is key to a relationship.

Depends on your personality. If more outgoing and bubbly might think you’re stupid and annoying and naive. If calmer or even shy he might have more positive first impressions on you, such as how gentle you seem.

Yeah, a lot. Typically keeps it to himself, but he seems grumpier than usual.

He’s often too shy to kiss you, if he’s taller than he typically kisses your forehead. If not your cheek. But he always gets red in the face. He’s too shy to ask but he likes being kissed on the lips or on the hand.

His favorite memory was probably the first time you and his silvally started to bond.

Very obvious. Hau and lily know he ain’t slick. His face gets red whenever you’re around and he stares a lot. He’s visibly on more edge, but not in a bad way? He’s just more nervous and easily embarrassed. He has a hard time being vocal about his feelings but he’s obvious.

He usually trains when he feels sad, but when it’s you he often tries to be there with you. Whatever you do to cope he’s there with you, he worries a lot about you when you’re upset so he does anything he can to make you feel better.

Obviously it would be many years down the line, probably in your mid 20s. He would do it in a place that was special. Not much in public, but he’s fine with pda if you initiate. Not in front of people he knows too much though. In private as well. He wants you to initiate but he’s secretly clingy. And loves kisses and hugs from you.

Kiawe doesn’t mind the clinginess but would rather you not cling during Pokémon matches. Other than that it’s free game, he’s secretly a bit clingy himself even if he’ll never admit it.

Hau is very clingy too, when the two of you separate it’s the end of the world and he’s crying his eyes out about it (he’s very dramatic). Unless it’s genuinely serious.

Guzma is secretly clingy too, so likes the clinginess. It gives him an excuse to constantly have an arm around you and you can’t tease him for it, even if you do he says “it’s for you, got nothin to do with me”

Guzma would think it’s sweet you’d defend him, but wouldn’t feel deserving of it. There’s a bit of guilt that resides in the man, because he feels at fault. He’s the reason you were even fighting the person, you could’ve gotten hurt and it would’ve been on him. While a part of him feels like you shouldn’t even like him anyways because you’re too good for him, he’s glad you return the feelings and tells you that.

Guzma is not the most educated on a bunch of different Pokémon, he only knows of Pokémon in alola. If you showed him a kantonian meowth he would probably be so goddamn confused. So when you introduce your partner to your boyfriend, his mouth is agape. “WHAT IS THAT?” he says out loud, and you giggle at your boyfriend. Once you introduce one another though, guzma is expecting some tough love sorta deal. Since haxorus is such a tough lookin Pokémon, but it’s quick to gentle bump it’s head against his with a coo, making him raise a brow. He will be pleasantly surprised to find haxorus is a big sweetie.
