tsukasa is a solo magical girl protecting shibuya, tokyo (i think that's where project sekai takes place) and akito is a photographer following tsukasa around on his missions!

they're also gay for each other but doesn't know it yet (they're both idiots) akito explains away his feelings with him being a photographer and tsukasa fighting makes for interesting photos! and tsukasa just doesn't realise that he's in love especially since he's too busy with school, wxs, and saving the city!

akito has a wall filled with photos of just tsukasa btw - vbs also totally caught onto akito's feelings before akito did!

akito, saki, toya, and wxs are the only people who know tsukasa is the magical hero!

also tsukasa is genderfluid and akito helps her dress more feminine in public for the first time! (akito is transmasc so probably gave his old unused women's clothes to tsukasa)

this au has been floating about in my brain for a while!! i just needed to finally write it down and now im sharing it with the internet- idk if i'll ever make something with this, i'll probably draw their designs but im not sure if i'll go further, im not the greatest writer so yeah

Sky Blossom: Ex-Magical Girl (2)

(also forgot to mention this in my drawing but saki is younger here)

She sat in the room that was coated with gentle colors and littered with stuffed toys.

Clearly meant for children much younger than she was.

She was a teenager now. She didn’t need toys.

Rather than playing with them like a baby, she remained seated in the cushioned chair— the most comfortable chair she’s ever had, although she didn’t want to admit it.

She frowned. Why was she being forced to wait here? What were the adults talking about outside?

It was strange. She didn’t understand. She didn’t understand anything about these people, she didn’t understand anything that happened today.

First, they took her from her room, put her in a car, and drove her here.

Then, they got her to change into these disgustingly plain, surprisingly pleasantly comfortable clothes.

And after that, they asked all sorts of questions. Like her name and age, what she wanted to be called, or whether she was okay with living with an older boy.

And now, she was put here in this stupidly childish room, sitting idle while waiting for the adults to finish talking.

The girl scowled. She shouldn’t be here. She should be training, or studying, or fighting. There were probably dozens of monsters out there waiting to be slaughtered. She didn’t have time to be sitting around like this.

She didn’t like this. Even though their words were strangely comforting and they haven’t hurt her yet and they had the softest smile she’s ever seen from an adult, she didn’t like these people one bit.

…

Well, maybe a little bit.

They were… really nice.

But she was sure it was all a trick. They were just here to hurt her, she was sure of it.

As soon as that door opened, they would—

Her eyes widened.

Speak of the devil.

The door opened silently without a creak, and a woman walked in, clipboard in hand.

Her heart rate quickened, but she refused to let herself show her fear.

She would’ve prepared to fight, but she wasn’t supposed to hurt adults.

No.

No, this was not good.

No, she was going to—

“Hi there! Sorry for the wait,” the woman said with a smile.

She was… apologizing?

Why?

She was an adult, adults don’t need to apologize.

“It’s okay if you’re not ready yet,” the adult told her, kneeling down to below(?!) her level, “but would you like to pick out a new name for yourself?”

She handed the girl her clipboard.

And why would she want a new name?

Sky Blossom was her name. It’s been her name for as long as she could remember. Why would she want a new…

She stared at the clipboard in confusion.

These names… these are really weird names.

They… they were just words. They didn’t even mean anything.

Names like Akari, Rika, Kimiko…

Those were weird names, really weird names.

Why would she ever want…

She stared at the next name on the list.

That name… it looked like it would sound nice.

All of these names were stupid, of course, but this one was… less stupid.

She looked up from the paper, down at the adult watching her expectantly.

“You don’t have to pick right now,” the woman assured her. “If you’re not ready, we can do this later.”

She’d have to pick one eventually.

Whatever. If she had to take one of these, she might as well go with the one that she liked the most.

Hesitantly, the girl pointed to a name.

“…I like this one,” she muttered, still a little unsure about speaking to these people.

“…Saki,” the woman read. Then, she smiled. “It suits you!”

It does?

The girl— Saki— wasn’t so sure about that.

Then again, what did she know about what suits her or not?

It would probably grow on her.

Just like everything else.

SCREAMS!! YES!!! sorry that it took so long to respond to this, i had to write a lot and im answering on mobile where i cant type as fast!! (also apologizes for my grammar in this, i was in a silly mood) prepare for the massive info dump under the cut!!!

okay anyways! the “magical girls” are wxs (bc im biased for them) and their theme would be “sweets” and “deserts.” their outfits are based around the fluffy dreamland set + other cards that i think suit them. (ex: nene messenger of feelings combined with her afterparty with fireworks(mermaid nene)) but emu is only based off of her smile of a dreamer card bc she’s the goat and it’s her focus. she’s sort of the leader of the magical girls (sorry tsukasa!! youre my favorite but ur not the leader for this au!! i have a lot of plans for you though >:3)

HOWEVER bc rui and tsukasa dont have clear full body outfits in that set im thinking of basing their outfits on different sets. tsukasa is the most clear for me, because he’s going to be an combination of his backstage encouragement card (lilykasa) and his an unexpected classmate card. i dont have any ideas for rui but i want him to be based on a lim card of his so his hair can change during the transformation ueueueuwuuwe (；′⌒`) .

since their theme is around sweets im thinking of naming their ��charm” or those things that give magical girls power “___ candy” emu’s would be “sweet candy” since she’s the leader. nene’s would be “mermaid candy”. tsukasa would be “star candy” and rui’s would be “robo candy” or “thunder candy” (IM SORRY RUI I AM NOT TREATING YOU RIGHT IN BUILDING THIS AU 🙏) the names before ‘candy’ is either based off of their cards (nene) or their overall personality or actual theme (tsukasa, rui)

the order of who turns into a magical girl would be emu -> nene -> rui -> tsukasa. emu was the first to recieve her powers and has been fighting against “evil” for a good length of time. maybe around 4-6 months. because of this she is somewhat popular around japan and on the internet. everyone has at least heard of her if theyve stayed up with the latest trends. (saki is a MASSIVE fan of her’s).

nene recieves her candy during a particularly difficult fight she witnesses emu having. (here). in this au nene is more pessimistic that gets resolved soon when she gets to know emu more. the reason she knows emu’s identity in the comic i made is because she soon realized it after emu said something eeriely similar to her magic girl persona. she then confirms it during the battle and as she realizes the reason for why emu fights, she is determined to reciprocate those feelings to her. thus, she recieves her candy.

tsukasa and rui im not sure yet but i want it to be an accidental encounter. maybe during a show they have an enemy appears and they have to fight, thus leading tsukasa and rui to find out their identity. im still not sure how to make the enounter different for tsukasa and rui since i want there to be at least some time for nene and tsukasa to get popular on emu’s level (or at least close to it).

the “big bad” that magical wxs is fighting is called project DULL. it’s…nightcord… yeah. the enemies are n25. they have tragic backstories and i really want to see them snap at someone sooo /lh. haha! no actually though i want n25 to have another secret persona that NO ONE knows the identity to. even themselves. they work together but they have no idea of the real person theyre working with. yes, they still in n25 together working on songs but they also work together as the main “villains” (wink wink. nudge nudge ;3). a few times one or more of them come to their nightly vcs more tired than usual and theyre suspious but brush it off thinking “oh they must have had a more exhausting day than usual, i wont pry but i’ll tell them to take care of themselves!”

virtual singers and sekais still do exist in this au by the way! im also thinking of making each group into a villain fighting group but i have no idea where to start with that and i think my brain would implode trying to think of all of their lore in one go soo no mention of them here lolol.

project DULL wants to reset the world to a state where everything is neutral. no positive emotions, no negative emotions. no sicknesses either! the main reason they oppose magical wxs is bc n25’s “neutral” is tasteless (or at least that how i think) and wxs is based around sweetness and the different flavors of everything.

there are many other things i want to explain about project DULL and others associated with them but that would be spoliers and it would ruin the surpise!!! one last thing about them is that theyre based off their imprisoned marionette set and wear masks. (WINK WINK. NUDGE NUDGE)

okay so i don't have everyone done digitally!!! kohanes the only one done her ref sheet but i have photos of them in the sketchbook since i worked on it with an irl bestie, they're a bit messy tho☆彡

kohane- sheep song is from her singing and also hitsuji ga ippiki (her best comm imo)

her design was based off of hitsuji ga ippiki, her realize card, powerpuff girls z, and also precure a little bit!!!! (they all are lol) i wanted to keep each chara in their group concept as well, she has the hair from her lily card!!!

also she has headphones around her neck cause i wanted to give a "musical" item to all the leaders

ps. in general for all the designs i'm trying to keep to a "chara colour, white, black" sorta theme!!!

her graffiti cans are vbs coloured, and you can't really see her wearing it, but on the necklace on the right is her "magical girl item"

she didn't change much from her initial concept here acrually!!!! i think she attacks with a big graffiti can hammer i believe in her

minori is the only other chara i've started the digital drawing on lmao so from now on it's all gonna be sketchbook

i don't really need to explain naming her angels clover, but that's really the concept i tried spreading around her design!!!!

she's inspired by her lily card ofc (they're all either lily/neo inspired actually) but she's also totally based off her dream place card

a small detail you can't see here is that she's actually wearing archery gloves!!! she's the bow user in this au and she flies above the enemy to rain them down!!! (also her earpiece!!! )

also more of her initial planning from the sketchbook, i had a lot of trouble with her skirt....

her magical item is the clover barrette

ichika is meteor pulse!!!! also doesn't really need an explanation, there was an effort to make sure the names were based off their comms after all

i thought she would be difficult to design cause i had no idea for her, but she actually came together like a charm! you can actually see the actual first ichika idea on the second minori page

ichika didn't have a lily card so she has her neo hair!!! there wasn't an exact card i could say ichika is based off of like the other two but i did. make it with her connecting the stars cards in mind

she doesn't have enough fantasy feeling cards is the case lmao

i really wanted it to have a "school uniform" vibe on top of a "band" sort of feeling while also being a magical girl.... she ended up coming out very fun!!!! oh a detail that's hard to see here is that she actually has a barrette with music notes on it!!! and also she has a little earpiece with a mic on it

one thing i'm actually stuck on for ichika is the design for her guitar sword cause i think she has that kind of strings + sword quick attacks ya know?

her magical item is a meteor earring

also a chara i didn't have any idea for actually??? i wasn't sure where to go for her concept since i felt like even tho she had a lot of "fantasy" type cards they were also a bit too dark and not directed in concept enough to base smth off it

so i built a whole lot of it off the feeling from her neo card!!! so i based it off of a "cyber magical girl" feeling she also has her neo hair ofc

top left is the first one. she was the hardest to find the direction for. what is that first one.....

i wasn't too worried about giving her a longer thing in the back cause she's totally not moving much during battle (healer/buffer/spell caster/glass cannon)

i ended up taking a power button as a motif, i thought about a musical motif but it somehow felt unfair to the others lmao

her design was based off cyberpunk, neo, and most importantly, cardia from code realize!!! i had a lot of trouble with the skirt shape until i copied the sillouettw off her thank you cardia

her magical item is a bracelet btw, she totally presses the power button on it to "power up"

the details that's hard to see for her is that actually the ribbon curling around from her back to the front is also supposed to be reminiscent of a power button.... also her headphones are one side normal earmuffs and the other side is the huge power button hair thing to the right

tsukasa is showtime pegasus!!! i was the most stuck on him tbh, all i knew was that his hair was gonna be knightkasa

i thought that hes attacking with his flag obvs, and he's star themed but not much else??? i based his outfit mostly off his lily card ofc, but i didn't feel like he was coming together???? i thought he had shorts obvs but idk???

the real brain activation was when i was looking at the lily costume and realized that he was wearing thigh high boots, huzzah!!! i think his design is my fav actually!!!

small details include his earpiece with wings on it, his tie which is supposed to resemble a unicorns horn, the shoes that give off an impression of horse riding, and black detailing on his sleeves that resemble a piano!!!

his magical item is a ring ofc, and he uses his flag as a lance/ buff the party

i also have a little page with how some of them look without their layers!!!

i can't show it here cause tumblr image limit but the back of tsukasas waistcoat has some piano like ribbons that work as a corset

i also actually have all of their power levels, speed levels, abilities, and fighting style but that's more pedantically and also a lot of text that i can't fit in the post rn (it might be fun if you did this with the individual groups!!)

Anyway for now I'm just pinning down the theme for each outfit (if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them) a lot are going to be blank for a bit

Haruka: something similar to her Ai no Material outfit, penguin themed kinda sorta?

Shizuku: birds! Feathers and shit. It's gonna look different from minorin's I promise
