Ok a reblog just to fix up Jornir! somehow i missed like the whole eye thing...

Drawing Mace and Richie's characters pt.1

Starting with Jornir and Taishen!

Although icebound isn't as hyped up as OUAW I'm still obsessed with there characters

now the main reason I'm going to start this little fanart series is because Mace and Richie's characters are always shipped together no matter the campaign, which is iconic

Not gonna lie, i think santos absolutely slayed this episode. like yes she absolutely had problems with remaining within her scope of practice (and still does b/c it's been a day and what can resolve that quickly), but if there was ever a moment where that confidence/bordering on arrogance was needed it was that moment.

and let's not forget mohan had an extremely similar moment this ep too (shout out samira fr i love her), like this wasn't pure ego or recklessness this time, it was also necessity.

On a more positive note, I absolutely love how Thomas's boys care for him when he is ill. I love how attentive to him they have always been, but when he gets sick, it shows. In S1, it was Rafe at his bed side, it was Rafe doing his work, it was Rafe making sure he was okay. Now, we have Richard and Christophe, who embrace him, who make sure he is well, who handles his affairs for him.

Thomas is a man who works himself near to death, always caring about everyone else, always propping up everyone else. And he is certainly someone who shuns, the help that's offered to him. But when he is sick, his boys are there. They take care of him, whether he wants them to or not, the wait by him, they handle his affairs, etc.

It's interesting seeing how the dynamic changes as well - especially between Richard and Rafe. Rafe is gone, so it's Richard. And the scene where he wouldn't let Richard go.

It's also kind of a sad foreshadowing of what's going to happen. They are no strangers to stepping up when Thomas is down, but very soon well...you know they're going to have to.

Thinking about Baccio again. He tried to be a good leader, tried to keep the peace, tried to avoid unnecessary cruelty, tried to be kind. He considered Tesoro his friend and confidante, he liked Conficcare and Celia and the rest of the misfits, he helped them in little ways...

and all he got was dying at the hands of his rival, someone he tried to extend his hand to. His death the first blood of what would become a war, his killers death marking the end.

Baccio was this pillar of their lives, taken for granted, and when he fell it all collapsed. And who of them grieve him? Beyond what his death represents? He haunts Tesoro the most, thats for certain, but hes just one dead kid that haunts them among many.

S3 E11 Supernatural

Oh this one HURT! I heard the 'I'm the heat of the moment' memes and it's Sam having a groundhog day episode but this stung. The Trickster trying to get Sam to get that he isn't gonna save Dean. They then had Sam live after Dean died giving him a glimpse of what it's gonna be like when he goes to hell. When Dean died Sam became an impressive hunter, he was void of emotion and only set on destroying. I wonder what he gonna be like in s4 when Dean actually goes to hell (cus I don't think thell find a way to get him out of it)

I know like multiple people who couldnt get into Cowboy Bebop cause they find it very long winded or shallow "for aesthetic/cool guy points shit" and they're entitled to their opinion but I always found that soo wild. Like it really is a combination of like the 3 main staple genres of film that raised me: noir, sci-fi, and western and it alludes to and executes so many classic storylines and tropes within those genres excellently. Plus everything from its animation style, its storyline, its character design, and most importantly the way the music in it is it's own character in the show is also on a level all its own. I think you do have to be someone who's familiar with the slow dramatic pacing of film noir to like it because being into noir builds up your patience, that or just be patient in general lol but even then I mean so many of its beats are still fast paced enough to grab you

Had a dream where Catra got cask of amontillado'd while Adora was sick and couldn't transform by a group of people who wanted to start a war to get Puerto Rico into the USA and were clearly the villains. I think oil was involved??? I went from being Catra to the captain of the guard trying desperately to explain why USA coming here to take resources was bad, and exasperated by it all I ripped an american flag up and Adora was so inspired she pulled the bricks down by hand saving Catra.

I type this out because when I have a fic style dream sometimes I wake up and think it's a brilliant idea (rarely true but mostly asleep I think it is) so I record a quick voice memo with the plot so I can write it when I get up.

The plot for this was "catradora fuckin free puerto rico, fuck merica" and I think that's beautiful.

Heeheehee okay so here they are. I'm going to categorize the powers by the love interest so keep that in mind!! These are just a few for right now lol. If you want a challenge tho, tell me what you think their X-men codenames would be!

Kurt: I usually stick with the necromancy mutant Idea for this reader!! I included it in one of my very first fics for him, but the basis is that the reader is a necromancer and can bring the dead to life, but is terrified of it. They're afraid of zombies and zombie movies and the only way they've been able to overcome it is to focus on ONLY bringing Dinosaurs and extinct animals to life because the thought of reviving humans is against their moral and ethical code. I always pair this power with Kurt bc he's just so supportive and would help them through the sacrealigous aspects of the power. (When I daydream about 97' angst, it's usually about how this reader would never risk actually attending Remy's funeral in worry their emotions would be too much to bear and they would accidentally risk reviving the entire graveyard. So they're forced to stand far away from the others and watch the funeral from the distance, despite how much they cry and mourn for their friend.)

Cable: The power I've pictured the Reader having in the tender moments series is a time traveling one. It takes a lot of energy for them to make big jumps in time on purpose, less so with small ones, but they can't always control their power. Sometimes the timeline just decides they're needed somewhere specifically and it just snatches them into a different time period. They've been somewhat orphaned during their life because of this, as when their powers first appeared they were very young and the timeline just snatched them from their parents and plopped them down somewhere else. Reader and Nate keep managing to run into eachother during these different timeline hijinx, first meeting for a few months as kids, a year as rivals in their teens, and then becoming more of a duo in their adult years. All the timeline shit does weird things for their age, and although they're nearly as old as Nate, they still look like a fairly young adult. They do not like this, and want to grow old like everyone else. They has more control over their powers now, but theres always a risk of the timeline snatching them away. I wrote a small angst WIP where them and Cable get in a fight/ he seriously hurts the reader under the control of sinister in that last two episodes, and as they lay there wounded the timeline snatches them away again, leaving Nate in regret.

Piotr: I haven't written a lot for him but I always picture the Reader as having a scary power despite their gentle nature. The one I think about the most is a transformative power where they turn into this specter/phantom like form that causes anyone who looks at them to be instantly overcome with visions of their worst fear. Even if you can't see them at the moment, when they activate this power, people tend to go into a fight, flight, or freeze mode because of the fear and danger this form just permeates. This obviously is not exactly something that they can do during an X men fight, so they choose not to join missions so that they don't make any innocents or any of the other X men collateral damage. Piotr really respects them for that, and likes that they are so caring and motherly towards children in particular despite LITERALLY basically being the boogeyman.

Would anyone be down to hear me gush about the mutant power ideas I usually picture the readers having in my fics???
