tumblr truly is the website of all times. someone can say "hey religion is really important for a bunch of cultures and different people of color. don't always assume religious means christian and learn to respect different religions if you really want to be supportive of different cultures." and someone will reply with "so you think im RACIST JUST BECAUSE im CRITICAL of RELIGION??? shame on you. why do you hate women"

it bothers me how many people are calling these police raids on collage campuses a "descent" into fascism. beyond the usual reasons I could give as to why this police brutality and political oppression isn't new, (1.) as many have already pointed out this is a moment of history repeating itself and police raids have already happened to college campus anti-war protests in the past, notably including a police raid at columbia 56 years ago to the day. and (2.) the united states is quite literally committing a genocide against the palestinian people and has been since 1948. (which is what these college protests have been trying to draw your attention to, in case you forgot).

so, yes, this is clearly fascist but the fascism is already here. the fascism has been here since before you were born and you don't even have to look beyond yesterday's police raid to know that. there's no way to prevent the united states from descending into fascism at this point, and this is important to recognize because you need to adjust your politics accordingly.

the problem in usamerican politics is the lack of diversity to choose from because if you showed the working class republicans what the MPP sector in my country is most of them would switch to the far left so fast, when you actually hear what they want their demands and train of thoughts are reasonable (except when they begin to go off the rails with religious extremism and racism of course) but if you keep treating them as uneducated rural beasts you will never meet in the middle ground, meanwhile a lot of so called progressive voters in the US would be supporting the more conservative candidates here when you see all that they are willing to overlook just to mindlessly keep supporting a certain party, so while yes those crazy "we interviewed trump supporters" videos are funny, you have to dig a little deeper into what is being said because a lot of times the people you call mad are scarily closer to the truth than you are, like when republicans where calling H. Clinton the mother of ISIS... they were right, sure they were probably focusing on the wrong reasons to hate her, but it was the truth, and the so called most progressive sectors were willing to die on a sword for her, and don't even get me started with the one currently running. At the very least you should hear what your fellow citizens have to say about your government officials imo
