That's Lieutenant Soul. Callsign 'Oxford'. First picked up the name after showing up to base his first day wearing a ridiculous pair of knocked-up oxfords wrapped up in rags. 

Beelined to the T-38 track after scoring in the top percentile of the AFOQT despite having no formal STEM background. Credits his early interest in engineering to his late father. Excellent physicals, too, apparently because he grew up doing parkour. He did have a spot of troublesome behavior in the beginning but he had a way with other pilots that was hard to ignore and quickly became a natural leader.

Kid went through a lot to get to where he is today. But I'll never forget the look on his face when he first laid eyes on a F55 in action and I couldn't be more proud of him.

• Trust has to be earned with Rody and if you’re dating then you’ve defiantly gained his and hopefully vice versa. Even if him telling you about his quirk was an embarrassing one for him.

“So… you can’t lie because Pino will…”

“Pretty much yeah.”

“That’s a cool quirk Rody. Pino is amazing and like a companion. You’re lucky to have her.”

“You really think so?”

• Even though you’re together, he is still unfairly charming toward you! Flirting comes easy to him when it’s with you (sentimental feelings are more difficult to express) and you’ll receive winks or cute smirks from across the room etc.

• Rody will always play it cool but if you flirt back Pino will betray his nonchalance by the flustered blushing mess she becomes much to his embarrassment. Then comes the denial and stuttering.

“Aha well you— I— ahem, whatever, you’re cool I guess.”

“Rody, you’re not the only smooth talker you know but don’t worry you’re definitely prettier~”

“That’s not true (Y/n)! Have you seen how beautiful you are? No? Then I’ll show ya!”

• You’ve realised how agile and street smart he is on various outings, and sometimes you arrive early to date meeting points just to catch a glimpse of him gliding from building to building using an array of impressive parkour.

(He has no idea, nor do you intend to tell him).

• If you ask he will teach you a couple of things of course and he’ll be a brilliant teacher, guiding you through things and challenging your level to improve. If you trip he is 100% there to catch you equipped with a flirting / teasing remark and smile.

• Rody will also show an interest in your talents / hobbies and if you’ll allow, participate or learn them with you. If you’re helping him study to be a pilot then he’ll return the love to whatever it is you’re passionate about.

• His siblings are very important and based on Pino, his heart practically melts whenever you include them in your life.

Wanna go to the sea? Let’s bring Roro and Lala for a picnic.

Dinner? Sure we could all cook something together.

The boy is putty in your hands oh my. He would give you the world if he could, but for now you’ll have settle for the little moments he can give you.

• When visiting Rody at work your favourite drink is immediately prepared and waiting for you courtesy of a proud boyfriend - even if Stanleyk teases him for it.

• If you're around long enough, he becomes as protective over you as he is his siblings, in a more loving partner way of course. Just like them, he’ll do whatever he can support you.

• If he's ever stressed or upset Rody tries to hide Pino for you as she always makes a beeline the second you are in sight. He just wants to be strong for you - even if he secretly wants a hug.

• If you offhandedly mentioned liking something, you bet he's going to save up to get it for you. He loves you so much just because of who you are and this is how he can think to show it.

• Sometimes you'll end up buying it yourself first and he'll be really happy for you, only to overhear him moping to his siblings how he missed out on a chance to make you happy.

"I was so close!"

"Uh... can't you just buy (Y/n) something else?" Roro the voice of logic in moments like these.

"It's not the same Roro!"

• You often cook together, sharing different recipes and tricks. There's a small competition going with Roro and Lala, but they favour your joint efforts rather than solo attempts.

In fact they just enjoy your company and seeing how happy you make their big brother. Since he’s always looking out for them, they’re glad he found someone who will look out for him too.

• If you're ever in trouble Pino is shouting in front of you squawking at your offenders, not a second later Rody is there to defend / back you up.

• One of your more interesting dates involved a rusty pick-up that he’d ‘acquired’ and he drove you to a local rural area for stargazing. It was a beautiful night and you’d spoke for hours about anything and everything.

“The stars are so beautiful tonight, thanks Rody.”

“They’re not the only thing that’s beautiful…”

“Oh?”

“Uh-uh this truck, look at it! Peak of engineering.” Yeah Rody, let’s just ignore the admiring doe eyes Pino is currently making at you.

• Worry not though, despite finding hard to express his feelings sometimes he will compliment you genuinely and confidently when he can. Usually they just slip out as easily as breathing when he hasn’t overthought it.

• Overall dating Rody is like having a second family full of warmth and welcoming. Even if things can be a struggle sometimes, you know that as long as Rody have each other, you’ll find a way to overcome anything.

Better Circumstances AU (RodyDeku)

In Better Circumstances AU, Humanrise never existed and Soul siblings grew up happily with their father. Bakugou, Shoto and Izuku travel to Otheon for regular work studies instead of their black-ops mission in the movie. Eddie and Rody Soul are their tour guides.

In this AU, Eddie’s popularity only grew over time and is associated with Endeavors agency or with heroes in general. Rody, his eldest son, is expected to become an engineer like his infamous father so Eddie wanted his son to gain some experience. However, Rody is extremely uninterested in both the tour and his guests.

Upon meeting, Rody instantly starts making sarcastic remarks and backhanded compliments at his guests. While Endeavor makes no show of response (for the sake of keeping up good spirits with Otheon’s best engineer), Bakugou instantly gets riled up over the smallest comments while many fly over Shoto’s head. (“But I don’t have a candy cane quirk. I apologize if my hair makes you think otherwise.”)

Eddie apologizes on his son’s behalf, knowing how much Rody doesn’t like heroes, but Rody can’t help himself from riling up the heroes he’s forced to attend to, especially Izuku.

Rody immediately turns up the charm and charisma, practically flirting with Izuku just to see him flustered. (And if he found the Japanese hero attractive that’s between him, god and pino) Izuku eventually associates his charm with his personality and tries to ignore him and his “jokes”.

Eddie and Rody shows the heroes around the city. They stop at a few hero monuments and Rody, ever the hero critic, makes a snarky remark at every stop which just leads to Izuku, the heroics nerd, arguing otherwise. They continue this cycle the entire tour with Rody and Izuku going back and forth about hero ethics.

Izuku and Rody don’t see each other again until he saves him from a bank robbery, swinging around with his black whip while carrying the stolen jewelry. The chase gets them lost in a place that not even Rody recognizes so Izuku insists walking Rody home. After some more arguing and some awkward silence, Rody asks why would he save someone so anti-hero (not mention a jerk since meeting) and Izuku simply responds that he’s willing to save anyone when he can.

While walking, Izuku reveals about the pressures and grievances of being a hero when Rody talks about how lucky Izuku’s life is. This realization leads to Rody empathizing, revealings that he wants to be a pilot instead of an engineer.

The two take a few detours within the city, subconsciously exploring Otheon like tourists. Izuku never had or will have the chance to truly explore Otheon and Rody, living in a lesser known area and busy with studying, never actually explored his capital city as much as he wanted to.

Izuku writes down on his notes on every place they go to as Rody gives a bit of a history lesson on the way. They even stop at a few heroic places for Izuku’s sake. (It actually didn’t take that much convincing) When they notice they’re nearby an airport, they sit on a roof for an hour Izuku quizzing Rody on the plane models that fly over them.

On their way home, Rody spotted an abandoned RV and felt it had a strange magnetism to it, like it was familiar to him in another world. Out of pure curiosity, they decided to stop by. They sit on the roof and watch the sunset as the boys open up to each other, realizing that they don’t have much time left together. Rody reveals his quirk and his dream to be a pilot and Izuku admits how his quirk came in late and the pressure to keep up with his classmates.

As promised, they return a couple of hours later but they both get scolded for getting lost and taking too long.

Rody has the confidence to tell his dad about his dream thanks to Izuku pushing him and giving him encouragement. Izuku tells Endeavor and Aizawa that he's a "late bloomer" and they provide accommodations that best suit this new information.

Much to Rody and Izuku’s relief, no one suspects their skip day (except for Eddie, who noticed that Pino has been comfortably sitting on Izuku’s head since they came back). Although, many are concerned about the lack of arguing replaced by friendly banter, Izuku’s sudden interest in Otheon agencies and Rody frequently “passing by” the agency just to flirt with Izuku on his breaks.

When the heroes leave, they exchange numbers with the promise to talk and see each other again, Rody promising to fly for him one day. They hug and struggle to let each other go until Bakugou yells at them to leave. Izuku lets go first but quickly gives Rody a peck on the cheek before he uses his quirk to run to the gate.

“I thought you didn’t like heroes.”

“Sh-shut up dad!”

For an adult design of Rody, would he cut his hair or would he grow it out? I feel like both are plausible but I'm strangely attached to the idea that he would grow it out

And i swear, i never undestood Rody's quirk, that's his soul?? That his emotions?? But its a little xute thing called pino?? It is like dark shadow?? Does it has feelings? Why so cute?

Yeah Pino is meant to be a physical manifestation of Rody's soul, his real feelings. I think it's like that because Rody is someone who has to create a front in order to protect his siblings (be their hero when there was none for them) and complete odd (often shady) jobs which means keeping his cool all the time, and in order for his heart to be saved by Izuku, there had to be some sort of physical tell (for the audience and Izuku) for what his true feelings were

She's also a cute little animal mascot for the movie <3 and I reckon that the reason Pino is a bird specifically is because, well, Rody wants to be a pilot and fly, just like Pino can. Makes even more sense as to why Pino is a manifestation of his soul and feelings: he doesn't want to do odd jobs forever, he himself admits later in the movie that he wants to be a pilot, his actual dream

I've also been thinking about how Pino can be seen by everyone and dismissed even as a quirk, and I guess it helps that Pino is meant to look like "a real bird within the bnha universe", as I remember being in the world heroes mission art book (? I think it was from there) (said at the top of the image below)

So even Pino is a cover for what she really is! Citizens in the bnha universe who don't know what Rody's quirk is probably just think she's a little domesticated bird companion (tbf she IS a bird companion, in part)

I've never really thought about it before but actually, yeah, I'd say she is like Dark Shadow. Except Pino can't really go back into Rody until needed, so unless Rody hides her in order to fool people (something you see happen a few times in the movie), she's always there and always reflecting his true feelings to anyone who's paying attention

My headcanons for Rody Soul

════════════════════════════════════════════Because honestly ever since seeing BNHA:WHM, I fell in love with this character's story and just overall development. Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission. ════════════════════════════════════════════ > He's one hell of a singer. Right off the bat. I imagine since he's the type to travel a lot after the events of WHM, he needs to entertain himself somehow, so with a lot of time on his hands, he got in some decent practice. So if you ever co-pilot with him, be ready to be serenaded by those sweet vocals. > Fatherly/Brotherly type. Say you gain his trust enough, he will treat you as one of his own and take care of you. He will make sure your needs are met with what he can manage to scrounge up, and will even go as far as picking up a second job. > Wholesome partner. As mentioned in the last one, he will make sure all your needs are met, but, if you two make it past the friendship phase, prepare to be treated the way he believes you deserve. He will put his life on the line for you if it means he gets to see you smile one more time. > Daydreamer. This guy has a lot on his mind and doesn't really speak his mind, so his head is in the clouds as a result. Playing scenarios in his head, be it his next goal, how he will achieve his current one, or even what happened during the WHM, he seems a little spacy sometimes. Don't worry, a firm tap on the shoulder should bring him back. > A collector. During his trips, he will pull off to the side if something catches his eye. Rocks, Feathers, shiny things...if it looks cool, he's keeping it. The dash of his vehicle is where he displays his finds. He swears he's going to use them for something, but...never does. > Lone Wolf. He's not the most social, but when need be, he kind of puts on a façade until the interaction is over with. Forced charisma and smiles, at the end of the day, he's quiet. Only those that he's close to get to see his true emotions and hear what he really thinks. When he's alone or with someone he enjoys the company of, he's relaxed. > Pino is his comfort. He can't go a day without giving her little headpats and kisses to her forehead. If she strays too far, Rody feels uneasy, tense, anxious. He is so used to her close company that just the mere thought of her being gone or too far (albeit this is kind of impossible when she's literally a part of him.) it sets him off a bit. > Dinner? Covered. Rody is a great cook. Since having to take care of his two little siblings, he had to learn how to cook from scratch. No need for takeout with this guy around; He can make that whopper without a flaw if the ingredients are available, even then, he can get it pretty damn close! > Sunsets. His favorite hour is golden hour. His routine consists of a drink, some tunes from his car or van, and the light show just over the horizon. It's his chance to reflect, unwind, and just be him. Though, he longs to share the golden hour with someone. > Deep conversations. When he's comfortable with you, he's better able to convey what is on his heart and mind. You two can talk for hours on end once you both have a good flow going. He tries to avoid dark topics if he can and opts for more heartfelt topics like dreams, ambitions, and thoughts, wanting to end things on a more positive note. That's kinda all I can think of for now :"D I might actually add more as time goes on.

MY HERO ACADEMIA WORLD HEROES MISSION MOVIE REVIEW !!!!!

The movie was amazing, I enjoyed it a lot. MY HERO ACADEMIA WORLD HEROES MISSION was in Japanese with English subtitles.

All the scenes were breathtaking especially all the fighting scenes. When Midoriya, Todoroki and Bakugo wore their new costumes. All the UA students working all around the world. Roro Soul, Lala Soul, Rody Soul, and Pino were great characters especially their story and the adventure with Deku !!! Rody wants to be a pilot and to take care of his siblings. A lot of awesome quirks appeared in this movie. The villain Flect Turn & his organization Humarise was very unique and interesting. The movie went PLUSH ULTRA !!!!! 💥💥💥🤛🏻

THE MOVIE WAS AWESOME !!!!
