guys, it’s literally been over a year and i am still upset over the ending pilar and felix got😾

ok i either absolutely love when a character dates the wrong person to see the right one or i hate it. regardless, it feels more accurate to life and relationships, because generally you don’t end up with your first relationship or love (that’s not to dismiss those that do). in my moderately analytical viewer opinion, i have watched writers make both the right and wrong decisions concerning this. i think the duffers have done a wonderful job of getting people to root for byler and i cannot comprehend anyone being unable to see the obvious endeavors to reveal homosexuality- not just from will- the duffers have placed at their feet.

that is the most recurring vision in felix’s dreams, the scarlet candy swirling around his mind in abstract shapes, draping his sleep-state with saccharine thoughts.

felix realized that he liked you because of one singular red lollipop.

he had known you for as long as his memory allowed him to recall. years of friendship where you had laughed until your stomach ached, but also dried his tears and held his hand until his darkest nights passed. wherever you were, so was he. his one platonic pilar in life.

so, when felix watched you indulge in a red lollipop on a random summer afternoon, he felt distraught, to say the least.

the candy swirled around your tongue absentmindedly, its vivid hue imprinting itself onto your glossy lips. your eyes were cast on the open book before you, and the lollipop seemed to liquefy and drip on felix’s cheeks, for they were blooming with a blush he had never sported before.

felix wanted to kiss you, suddenly, without a previous warning. he imagined pressing his mouth onto yours and letting the sweetness of your being run through his, over and over again, till all he remembered was the chant of your name and the taste of strawberries melting on your mouth.

it is weeks later and you are sucking on another lollipop right now. only this time you are looking up at the sky, stars scattered like gems reflected in your eyes— a mirror crafted solely to capture the beauty surrounding you.

you love stargazing with felix, dragging him with you each time the weather forecast predicts a clear sky. the blanket you laid out feels soft beneath your bodies, but it pales before the softness of your hands as they brush against his own, each time you point out a star that twinkles a bit more than the rest.

he’s awfully quiet tonight, afraid if he opens his mouth then the only words that would spill out would be “you’re so pretty” and “please, please kiss me till i can’t breathe.” so, he chooses silence, his gaze subtly lingering on your form, his eyes fixated on that damned lollipop.

“you know, i think astronauts missed the prettiest constellations,” you muse and he hums, intrigued, tilting his head to look at you.

you prop yourself up on one arm, your hair cascading like a blanket over the contours of his face, its ends brushing against his cheeks akin to soft feathers. you nudge the lollipop to the right side of your cheek, a gentle smile playing on your lips as you gaze down at him.

felix’s gulp is awfully audible in the quietude of the night.

“they missed this one,” you trace with your finger over his freckles, as if they are coffee-stained stars forming constellations of their own. you then follow the trail over the bridge of his nose, your finger lingering just above the slate of his cheekbones, gliding slowly over the freckles beneath his eyelids.

his heart hammers in his throat, pulsates in his knee and stomach— you are bringing each one of his pulse points to life with your touch.

you are flirting with him, right? friends don't gaze at each other like this, with pupils fully dilated and a hand delicately grazing their cheeks as if tending to a fragile china vase.

he’s too far gone in you to back out. he yearns to find out, now.

so, he boldly plucks the lollipop from your mouth, guiding it teasingly over your lips, leaving them coated with the sticky sweetness of red. His breath catches as you tilt your head, a silent dare in your gaze, and the stars above fade into oblivion as he gazes at you – you, whose essence is crafted from moon dust itself.

“can i kiss you?” he whispers quietly.

“i thought you’d never ask,” you smile softly, before leaning down to press your lips on his own. they remain there for a few seconds, unmoving, but felix grows greedy as his hand untangles in your hair, moving you even closer to him.

your lips move in a steady rhythm and felix feels drunk on the softness of your lips, on the way your mouths meet only to part once more, on the dulcet way you bite his lower lip, on your saccharin taste tinted with strawberries and summer fields.

“i… i like you so much it’s driving me insane,” he confesses, chest heaving. “can i be yours? please?”

felix dreams of the lollipop yet again that night, red like the blush that sprouted on his cheeks as you kissed him again before you freed him from his longing, ‘yes,’ you said, ‘i’ve only ever been yours’. red like the blood coursing through his veins carrying your name to the chambers of his heart. red like the marks you left on his neck, collarbones and chest, anywhere your lips could reach, everywhere your love would be felt in.

Today in the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars, George Takei guest stars in "The Silent Saboteurs," episode 10 of the second season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (original air date November 28, 1965).

Takei plays a Chinese officer who teams up with David Hedison's Captain Crane to hunt down a mad scientist who's built a superweapon to shoot down American spacecraft, from a secret base in an unnamed Southeast Asian country I can only assume is supposed to be Vietnam. A native guerilla fighter helps them locate the base. If you find the politics of this episode confusing, that makes two of us. Then it turns out that Takei is not a Chinese officer after all, but one of the mad scientist's henchmen. And then it all turns into sort of a mini James Bond movie, with the added confusion of starring an actor who went on to play Felix Leiter. But it's all good fun.

Other Trek connections: The guerilla fighter is played by Pilar Seurat, who played the empath Sybo in the Star Trek episode "Wolf in the Fold."

Plot (it may contain spoilers)

Vallina is a small town where all its relation with the outside revolves around the platform, in which only two trains leave the mail and a freight train. After forty years of service, the stationmaster retires. The town prepares a tribute and when the party is in full swing, the Talgo appears. To the surprise of all, the chief unfolds the red flag and stops the train that the neighbors have always seen as a meteor. But that action will not be well seen by the leadership of Renfe and the stationmaster is sanctioned. The people's response is immediate and popular mobilization is not long in coming.

Yvie is a half-elf, half-dwarf from a small mountain village from Orlais. I often tag her as Lavellan because that's her father's last name; he was, however, fully adopted into the extensive family of Yvie's mother, the Kaders, and Warden Kader from Awakening is Yvie's older sister. Yvie is a humble and peaceful gardener, but getting the Mark essentially turned her into a DnD bard (in that she casts spells by singing). She bonds with Alexius over her unusual magic, which intrigues him enough to feel almost not depressed from time to time, and over her overall compassion for her fallen enemies. Una is a Carta thug with a secret passion for nerd shit, which she hides out of insecurity. The Mark also turned her into something of a mage, though she favors elemental battle magic that she uses in unusual ways, similar to ATLA-style bending. She bonds with Alexius after he discovers her two deep dark secrets: that she sneaks into the mage tower at night to read books, and that she has a little son whom she gave up for adoption to keep him away from the Carta. Pilar is a former Antivan crow assassin that was trained in blood magic. This weighs heavily on her conscience, and she acts pretty much like a broody gothic antiheroine. Sophia is a Circle mage who, despite being an elf, grew up Andrastian and landed with heavy religious trauma. She is afraid that if she ever strays from the straight and narrow, even by as much as thinking an "impure" thought, demons will snatch her up. She bonds with Alexius after a long and painful period of silent agonizing over her tragic villain crush. Posts about her can be found here, here, here, here, and here

Solange is a Tal-Vashoth that got her fashion talents recognized by Duke Bastien and Vivienne when she saw the former gallantly throwing down his ornate cloak so the latter could walk across a puddle, and heckled him for ruining good fabric. Since then, she's been rubbing shoulders with Orlesian courtiers, amid much grinding of teeth because how dare an oxwoman be so talented. She bonds with Alexius when she comes to him and Dorian with ideas over how they can incorporate Tevene robe design into Inquisition mages' uniforms for better casting (yes, Dorian talking about fashion has poor optics, but my idea is that Tevene mage robes have practical elements to buff their wearers, like glyphs hidden among embroidery etc.). Solange is also a mother who loves and supports her child instead of shaping them into her own image, which is similar to how Alexius supported Felix despite him not being a mage. Elgara (named so by her parents because she was supposedly a real ray of sunshine during her alienage childhood) is a Tranquil who failed her Harrowing because she took pity on the demon meant to test her. The Mark cured her, and she now has twenty years' worth of emotions to grapple with, which she handles as best she can with the help of her new friends and some calming elfroot now and then. She bonds with Alexius because she is not as afraid of being vulnerable and emotional around her former enemy, as around people who look up to her as a hero. They've already seen each other at their worst, so might as well! Posts about her can be found here, here , here and here. Bonus long-ish fic about the exact circumstances that began Elgara and Alexius' eventual friendship. Also this one of the most on-point faceclaims I ever had for an OC!

Issala is a former Tamassran who was briefly engaged in sex work but was then reassessed and appointed to teach the Qunari children and help new converts adapt. (She did contribute to breeding a couple of times, and one of her biological children grew up to be Hissrad/Iron Bull, though he was raised by a different Tama and Issala did not keep track of him). Only one of the children in her care turned out to be a mage, and even though she'd read about the process of subduing a Saarebas, seeing it happen proved too much for her, especially considering that the terrified child turned into an abomination and had to be put down. Shaken by the experience and blaming herself for not mentally preparing her student enough, Issala left the Qun (choosing her new name, meaning Dust). She struggled to find a purpose at first, but managed to fit into the Inquisition. She bonds with Alexius over them both being teachers; she also flexes some of her past Tamassran skills and offers him to become friends with benefits for stress relief... Unless... Vhenas is, probably, one of the most chill and mentally stable characters on here. She is a Dalish Keeper who was getting ready for retirement when the whole Breach thing happened. Irreverent, adventurous, slightly crass but intelligent underneath, she is the Cool Mom TM to her three adopted children, now young adults by the time of Inquisition. She bonds with Alexius because she can sympathize with a fellow parent, and he is incredibly fun for her to tease; also Dorian and Warden!Felix are also her sons now, she just has a knack for taking in troubled youths. Posts about her can be found here, here , here and here. Bonus time loop fic that's Alexius-centric but features Vhenas as the active Herald/Inquisitor!

Lira is a self-taught shapeshifter; her favored form is a cat, and she is stuck with a tail after messing up her first few transformations. Originally coming from a broken home in an alienage, she used her covert magic to break her neighbors out and seek out the Dalish, earning a place of respect in her new clan that weighs heavily on her because she feels like she peaked at the age of fifteen, and will never be able to do anything as grand as her escapades as a teenage elf liberator. When the Conclave, in a manner of speaking, promotes her to saving the world, her gifted kid burnout leads to impostor syndrome. Lots of struggles under that cutesy cat girl exterior! She bonds with Alexius after he vents out his disillusionment with Corypheus, regret over pushing Dorian away, shame over how low he's stopped etc. etc. to what he thinks is a regular stray cat lounging around Skyhold, but is actually Lira in disguise, hiding from Josephine because she is terrified of war table meetings. i think the thing that pissed me off the most about the love victor season 2 love triangle was the way they so clearly didn’t even have a plan for how to resolve it they just ended it on a cliffhanger to see what the audience wanted. and i HATE that. like make a decision why would you let us idiots make that choice for you you’re the professionals oh my god…. if i’d been watching this show when it came out i would have been so pissed it’s actually insane to think about it’s so great that i only decided to care once it was over. it can’t hurt me now. except for the fact that it has. rest in peace felix and lake i’ll keep you in my heart forever. yeah yeah glad lake gets her bisexual arc and all but STILL. like sure ok her and carissa do revenge might slay it up and be fun but felix and pilar will NOT and i’m going to be PISSED about it fr. like more than i already am. sick and twisted. whatever i don’t want to think about it anymore i’m hanging with victor and benji <3 and we will always have nora!!!!

If it really took benji an entire season to figure out that Victor isn't his trigger, surely that means they aren't right for each other

I mean these two didn't go one single episode without arguing and this whole season they weren't even friends... yet we're all supposed to be rejoicing with that second rate Simon/Bram feris wheel scene???

Idk I feel like if the plan was for them to be endgame then they should have been working through their issues together
