Well, it's finally happening. After 25 years of Ash and Pikachu, their story has come to an end. The anime has been a part of my life for... probably most of it. I wasn't here from the very beginning, but I was here for a lot. And even if I strayed off for a while I always came back to it with fond memories. It's been a great source of comfort for me for a long time. It's the source of many cherished memories and it's had a lot of impact on me. Especially SM, which carried me through a rough patch of my life and was also a part of one of the happiest times in my entire life. Especially Ash and Pikachu, who are not the most complex of characters but still meant a whole lot to me, more than they probably should. I admired them and looked up to them, and these characters and this show gave me a lot of strength during some rough times. They meant the world to me. It's really, really hard to see them go. JN hasn't been the best series for a variety of reasons but looking back at it now I find myself looking at it fondly. No matter how much it annoyed me a lot of times, it was still such a great experience to open YouTube to watch the new episode with the shitty subtitles and watch the characters I loved so much. It still gave me so much joy and I can never forget that. That's all over now.

But if one thing makes it better, it's the thought that I can go back. Even if it's over, everything that we've seen so far is still there. And they'll still remind me of the good times I've had. Despite some mishaps along the way, every series has managed to make me look at it fondly. I've not been the biggest fan of MPM for a while, but perhaps I will look back on it fondly as well. And that makes it just a little better, the knowledge that it's still there for me, if I want to look back. Our journey together might be over, but we still have the pictures of our travels and the memories of all the good times. And I also know that the fandom will keep the memory of the show alive, even as we all move on to different things. I won't forget anything about this show and my experience with it. And I know it's also true for some others. The journey isn't over for Ash and Pikachu either, it's just that we won't get to see it. But we can always imagine, we can create, we can keep it going as long as we want. Just because we've reached the destination doesn't mean it's all for nothing, or that it's all over. There are other places to go, lots of things we can do at the place we've spent so long trying to reach.

The thing that I'm certain about is that Pokeani will always have a very special place in my heart. I will never forget the show or the memories I have had with it. I'm so glad I discovered this show. And I want to thank everyone who made it come to life, even if they'll never see it. So thank you to everyone who worked on this show, y'all made something so important and special to so many people, something that brought so many people together and gave them something to love. Thank you to all the fans who made art and wrote fics and made posts about this show and kept such a happy community alive. When the show disappointed me sometimes y'all were there, and the community made my days brighter just as much as the show did.

And thank you Ash and Pikachu, who were always there for me when things were hard, who made me smile and laugh and always brightened my day. I've looked up to you, I've loved and cherished the memories, and I will always hold you close to my heart. I'll miss you. So much.
