It's late and already 9 of March on many places but I think everyone needs to see what happened in Mexico City's protest today:

First on March 6th the President surrounded his residency (a castle called Palacio Nacional) to "protect the heritage" from radical feminists

Yesterday (March 7th) an anonymous Zeppelin flew over Mexico City's downtown with the quote "10 daily feminicides" to remind the government we are being killed and that as the quote on social media said "they planted fear and we grew wings"

After this the president and mayor of the city (who is a woman btw) stated that they were reinforcing security because they knew from a reliable source that protests would be extremely violent as feminists would bring molotov bombs and weapons

This obviously raised fear among many women who decided not to go to the protests BUT the groups surprised everyone today BRINGING FLOWERS TO THE POLICEWOMEN WHO JOINED THE PROTESTS ON SOME STREETS

Here from Mexico to tell y'all a cool story. The SEP, or Public Education Secretary directly translated, made basically a contest, or more accurately a “call for help”, for artists to design the book covers for the books that are used in public schools all over the country, all well and good, except that there’s no prize or payment, and the only prize is recognition. The excuse for no payment given is obviously framed as because of the pandemic, and most artists ar obviously not falling for that and instead sending meme designs, or crap doodles made in MS Paint, as more often than not in this country, artists are mocked for not having real jobs, and were also categorized as a “not necessary” job. If some of you can read spanish i suggest looking into it’s great.
