- He is the #1 SpongeBob SquarePants fan and he has proof

His favorite show is absolutely SpongeBob. When he felt overstimulated as a kid, he would shut himself into his closet and watch SpongeBob on his tablet for an hour. That habit stuck apparently. His favorite character is, unsurprisingly, SpongeBob SquarePants himself and he has a not-so-hidden collection of merchandise in his dorm room stashed under his bed. He believes Mr. Krabs is the worst character in existence.

- He has severe ADHD and stims all the time while in headspace

He has severe ADHD and cannot sit still no matter what while he’s regressed. He does a decent job keeping himself in check outside of headspace but completely loses his grip on his behavior when in it. Think always stimming, using his quirk just for the zapping noise, play fighting, swinging his legs, constantly climbing things.

- He loves climbing trees and will not get down if asked

Speaking of climbing things, he’s totally a tree-climber. Rain or shine, he’ll escape the dorms to climb up his favorite tree and go on the highest branch possible. When Mina or Kirishima advise him to get down in a panic, he simply cackles and moves up higher. He has fallen twice before and was given Pikachu bandaids for being strong about it. (He cried.)

- He IS Picasso and he is Sero’s muse

He thinks he’s the reincarnation of Picasso. When he’s not outside being dangerous or playing Nintendo games on his DS, he’ll draw pictures of his friends entirely with Crayola markers (or Cra-Z-art when they’re on a budget.) He shows it to them with the most prideful smile on his face, and if Bakugou dares to critique his masterpiece, Mina will defend him with her life. Sero is usually the most impressed, having no art skills himself. He adores the unmatched colors and incomprehensible scribbles. He does truly believe they deserve to be in a museum.

- He uses Bakugou as his personal schedule

Although Bakugou isn’t the most ideal babysitter, there is one thing he’s good for: routine. Katsuki is OBSESSED with routine and he cannot proceed with his day without one. That being said, Kaminari always follows in his footsteps. “Oh, it’s time for lunch? Right, I forgot about that!” “You’re going to shower? Wait, did I shower today?” “Bed time already..? Wait for me, you old geezer.” Bakugou doesn’t necessarily mind the extra company. He helps him out with duties like organizing his room and meal prep, lowering the volume on his hearing aids to tune out Kaminari’s inconsistent rambling.

- He has nightmares, but they are no match for cuddles and Studio Ghibli movies on a Wednesday night

He does have occasional nightmares, mostly concerning the USJ incident and the war. He gets incredibly claustrophobic and tends to accidentally electrocute anybody that tries coming near. But with the help of a weighted blanket and his stuffed animal Giraffe, he calms down slowly. If he’s lucky, his friends will sleep over for the night without admin’s knowledge and watch Studio Ghibli movies with him, which successfully lulls him back to sleep every time.

what’s your OTP for your muse(s)?

Neya & Thor are the only two applicable options here when it comes to things outside platonic/familial relationships. Opacho is 5 and Jack is also just a baby, but she's like best frienemies with Faolan. I know when you hear OTP its usually referring to romance but I'm super big on platonic relationships being OTPs!

That being said Neya x chemistry, she's not overly complex but Neya is a kind-hearted and deeply supportive type of character who despite often being in situations where she's in way over her head, is willing to persevere and overcome whatever obstacle that may be, especially when it involves people she cares about! If our characters build a relationship through our writing then I will never say no to it! This also applies to Thor! They have a good relationship built through us writing together and/or chatting about stuff via messages I'll never say no.

what are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

Pretty much anything, except you know the obvious and universal no no's.

how large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

Hoo boy ok. So, Neya, for her era (and the author even states this in the manga) at 16 she's considered an adult. On that alone I'd do 2 years younger and 4 years older cause I'm just trying to think of how it'd be from her time period. Now, this ONLY applies specifically for [main verse || itsuwaribito] when she's in her canon universe or some other feudal-era settings. I understand she's still 16 and other people don't vibe with that, I don't force anything on people (at least not intentionally, if you ever feel like I write something that makes you uncomfortable please tell me!) and romance is never my first or main priority, I like crushes/gradual friends to dating/lovers etc when writing anyway. This also obvi needs to be discussed first cause duh. Also, I'm fine with like 'x character looks 16/17 but is actually 100+ years old' (I’m an Inuyasha girly uwu, so we love a good demon/immortal s/o pairing).

For the verse where she's stuck in the future, [verse || under a rock] she is by modern-day laws legally underage. I'd go for 2 at most maybe 3 years older, 1 year younger. For the sub-main verse set at the end of the series with her running her village [verse || nanushi] she's canonically an adult there so I can deal with 10 years older or whatever and when it comes to the monsters/demons/immortal characters, so long as both parties are consenting adults it's cool!

Thor's a talking rodent. He's adult age and would be considered a young adult by human standards I suppose. So as long as the other creature is adult-aged it wouldn't matter to him. I can't put too much thought into this one, trying to make the math make sense is gonna hurt my brain, but obviously NO child-age creatures.

Can't really say, like excluding Coschu x Surgechu, which happened gradually through jubilantsparks and I's constant gushing about our chus via DMs I've never really shipped seriously with anyone else before so I can't really give an honest opinion about it *kanye shrug*

When they start undressing and getting real handsy, but none of that will ever be happening here so no need to worry!

For Thor, specifically in his Lt. Surge Raichu verse (affectionately shortened to Surgechu) I shipped him with jubilantsparks' Fem!Pikachu OC Elysia who had a Cosplay Pikachu verse (affectionately shortened to Coschu). Coschu x Surgechu was fun and I miss them :') Also, Thor and Elysia in general were my favorite platonic OTP that could have easily become romantic cause they loved and cared for each other so much as best friends who could have just as easily become something more if they wanted to </3

NeRiya with Jade's Iriya . We've had many discussions about this enemies-to-friends/maybe more slow burn/redemption arc for Iriya. I cherish it deeply and Iriya deserved better than what he got in canon ; n ;

Hmm, not really? I have a very chill and go-with-the-flow type of mindset when it comes to building relationships and shipping in general. The more our characters interact, get to know each other and the closer they become the better! If there's ever a certain aspect of their relationship you wanna discuss with me privately or plot, then just shoot me a message!

Also, I never assume anything so if you're invested off the rip in wanting to pursue the ship beyond them being friends then once again just message me. I'm here to have fun and write with folks, so go for it I will most likely never say no lmao. Crushes on Neya or Thor are also 100% ok, even if it's one-sided I have no problems with it, you don't even gotta ask me for that.

I've only had two (2) actual ships during my entire time here on this site. I have a bad case of anxiety brain when it actually comes to shipping and I never wanna assume or push anyone into doing anything so it's rare I ever approach. I'll just sit and vibe and settle with my time in the friendzone while making up scenarios in my head like the dork I am.

are you multiship?

Ok, after getting some answers on what multishipping is from an RP standpoint, I want to say yes I am. I'd have no issues with having multiple ship partners. Every character interaction is like in their own separate universes so like I can't understand limiting myself as a single ship. This is subject to change but like I said, I barely have any shipping experience.

are you ship obsessed or ship more-or-less?

More-or-less! As stated above I don't really ask or approach first for ships soooo if it happens it happens. I'm down for shipping off of chemistry through a gradually built relationship!

what is your favorite ship in your current fandom?

ooh chile I'm in a bunch of fandoms lol so I'll just go with the fandoms for my muses specifically. For Pkmn it'll always be ShinHika/Paul x Dawn/ Ikarishipping. Pokeani can pry that dynamic from my cold dead hands.

I like all the potential pairings within Utsuho's group, but that'd be too much to list. Gin x Kin, Neya x Uzume, Neya x Hikae, Hikae x Iwashi.

For SK I was a sucker for Hao x Tamao back in the day. It still could've been cute if Takei didn't turn Tamao into Anna 2.0. I find her whole personality shift weird.

We write enough threads together and our characters grow to like each other or something I'm 100% down to clown! Pokemon Horizons Episode 18 Review - A Flashback Masterpiece

I’m sorry, Episode 16, you just got dethroned after two weeks of reign. Episode 18 is now the best episode of this anime by far. It’s just an origin story, but the animation and storytelling are so immaculate. It’s almost perfection in a way. It feels like a good closure to the first arc and the beginning to the next possible arc in the Rising Volt Tacklers’ journey.

Liko and Roy are curious about how Captain Pikachu is able to fly in the air, so they team up with Dot to ask Friede about Cap’s origins. He avoids the topic, but with the help of Orla meddling, Friede finally reveals his past with Cap. Once a promising Professor, Friede starts his story jobless and listless. He had no motivation and no drive to do anything after quitting; he spends his days fishing with Ludlow and that didn’t excite him either. One day, he gets a phone call from his old teacher, Lucca (Liko’s mother), who he hasn’t seen since his student days at the Kanto region. Lucca moved to Paldea from Kanto after getting married to Alex. She wonders why he quit his job at the lab. Friede says that he knows everything there is to know about Pokemon, but Lucca sees through his front and points out that he lost his drive. She then asks him to meet up with him the next day at dawn where he is introduced to the Pikachu that will one day become Captain Pikachu. At first, Friede didn’t want to bother with a Pikachu, but after seeing how Cap used Volt Tackle to make a vortex into the sky, he became interested in it. He spends his next days trying to observe and theorize Pikachu’s goals and actions. After befriending him, Friede and Pikachu become partners and the Rising Volt Tacklers came to be.

First off, this backstory was amazing. It played out like a movie! I do like how Friede quitting his job and losing his drive is parallel to a lot of adults trying to find their place in life in the real world. People say that Pokemon is childish or for a general children’s audience (which it is), but having Friede and the Rising Volt Tacklers be adults and have mature motives for their path in life shows that Pokemon isn’t afraid to bring in an older audience as well. It’s like Mollie’s backstory that was told in episode 11 where she quit her job at the Pokemon Center because working there wasn’t fulfilling for her. Friede quit his job because it wasn’t fulfilling for him. I’m sure there are a lot of adults who relate to this; I relate to this myself!

I like how Pikachu was very hostile towards Friede in the beginning of their encounter. It shows off how much of a wild Pokemon he was back then. He was annoyed with Friede and kept tackling him. I think my favorite part of this episode was Pikachu gathering berries and then rushing off to eat them. I think this is one of the rare moments we see Pikachu behave very animal-like. We never saw Ash’s Pikachu as a wild Pokemon as much since most of his screen time was being a captured Pokemon and a pet of sorts. Seeing how Pikachu respected Friede towards the end of the flashback felt realistic because Pikachu knew Friede was always there and it even saved him from falling. In turn, Friede finding drive in Pikachu was understandable. Life is always full of mysteries and finding that one fateful moment can lead to a myriad of opportunities. Pikachu was definitely Friede’s muse in a way.

The animation was very smooth. The scene where Friede and Charizard flew up to the skies next to Pikachu’s vortex flabbergasted me. I never knew OLM Studio could animate this beautifully. This definitely looks like something shown in a Pokemon film or in a smaller mini-series like Twilight Wings. The way everything kept moving throughout the scene, taking a break when they looked beyond the horizon, and then moving again once Pikachu fell was breathtaking. I may not be an animator, but I can see good animation quality!

I do like how Lucca was the reason why Pikachu and Friede got together. Lucca is also the reason why Liko met the Rising Volt Tacklers. The theme of connection is very prevalent for this anime as it is a bond that expands beyond horizons. I cooed over seeing baby Liko in the episode; she’s so cute. I deduce that the flashback might have occurred at least five or six years ago since Liko is most likely ten or eleven at most. The fact that a mere glimpse of seeing Friede over a video call was the stepping stone of her current life is pretty fascinating in itself.

I also liked learning more about the Rising Volt Tacklers. It turns out that Ludlow and Friede were already acquainted with each other. Orla and Friede are also childhood friends with them both being Kantonians but Orla moved to Hoenn. The fact that Friede was requesting Orla to build an airship from Ludlow’s ship meant that he and Ludlow sailed all the way to the Hoenn region from Paldea. That’s determination right there. The fact that Friede, Cap, Orla and Ludlow were the starting members of the Rising Volt Tacklers seems meaningful now.

I love the little cameo of Larry in the restaurant, showing the game canon of him being a regular at that restaurant. Since this was a few years back, I do wonder if Larry is still a Gym Leader five or six years later and still working overtime. Anyways, I do like that this episode had the opening song play towards the end, signifying the closure of one chapter and the start of a new one. There hasn’t been talks or announcements of a new opening or ending song, so I do wonder where the show will go from here. I think this episode was flawless, but what about you? What do you think about this episode?

the character everyone gets wrong

That's a tall order; I don't think it's truly possible to 'get wrong' a character the way people act like it is in fandom.

That said, there's takes i think make no fuckin sense. Or rub me the wrong way. - Outside of my muses, my husband and I have definitely commiserated, and confirmed by creators themselves; Shadow the Hedgehog is nothing like Vegeta. Similar speech patterns, I think, but at the bare core of character.....most likely nah. Like ooooh they both sound vaguely royal/pompous. Could even be a mild artifact of their chronological ages, it's an accent. This really gets the both of them so wrong, besides the wide ideal of 'is an antihero with a villanous start'.

any iteration of 'volo is an incel that can't reproduce' kinda gets on my nerves; I love the cynthia is his reincarnation/transition timeline, but the whole.... 'he has no kids cause he's got no game'.... - like first of all he's coventionally attractive. he doesn't have to have game - most people try have kids with someone they actually Like. even if it's like temporary or they're wrong. game has nothing to do with it - abusive parents exist. hell, abusive partners exist too - the implication is there. it's one of the two/three major ones to their resemblance. hetnorm is real, this is the goddamn franchise that divided a pack of cosplay pikachu by gender in the anime. nobody really has mention of the factor of, Of Course They Would. - his only mentions by npcs are ones who vaguely like him. spear pillar was private and nerds get laid all the time.

I finally finished my first HW relic grind, and the plot for this really tugged hard on a key thread of Aeryn's backstory. I need to muse about it... So it's oc lore dump time! \o/

Spoilers for the HW relic weapon story, but that's it!

A quick tl;dr of Aeryn's story, pertinent to black mage:

Aeryn's soul is fused with the remnant magic of the star from her past life. It functions a bit like a shell, "protecting" her, but also blocking her access to the magic of the Source. This prevents her from doing most types of magic without significant effort.

In canon, Aeryn just lives like this, unable to do magic except in extreme circumstances. But in black mage AU, she works with the thaumaturges to disentangle her soul and the "foreign" magic (they none of them realize what it is), enabling her to both access and better utilize magic on the Source.

The disentangled star magic does not disperse. It lingers, greatly enhancing her newfound magical abilities, but also overwhelming her natural senses - especially her sight. Despite this, she takes to magic use with inexplicable ease and turns almost exclusively to magical combat.

Aeryn later channels most of the lingering star magic away during the finale of the StB class quest. The yellow in her hair fades as a result, and she is able to see without magical obstruction once again.

I thought that would be the end of it - that Aeryn-as-Black-Mage would no longer have her connection to her past life or her star following Stormblood. But rolling through the HW relic quests and awakening a new being connected to the WoL through their aether/soul/weapon got me thinking:

What if, in Aeryn's case, the soul she helps give voice and form to is what little remains of her star? (✧_✧)

The connection the anima feels towards the WoL and its desperation to get stronger so it can help/impress/protect them is very reminiscent of the headcanon I have about Aeryn's past connection with her home star and how it "saved" her in its/their last moments. Other than the timeline itself (and the suggestion that other warriors with similar experiences might likewise be able to connect with anima), nothing in the relic quest lore really breaks that theory.

And I'm casually obsessed.

Probably going to shirk the timeline and work this into Aeryn's black mage story, some time following Stormblood. Perhaps she needs a new weapon at that time. (The Stormblood class quest could feasibly have destroyed her existing weapon. Yeah, going with that.) I just love the circular notion of this: Aeryn's star dying in such a way that she was able to be "reborn," but then in turn being "reborn" itself in the form of an anima so that the two can learn, grow, and travel on together.

;-; Yes, this makes my heart is happy. I shall accept this headcanon. It shall be mine.

rivet: i know you have quite a few verses for her and a lot of crossover friendly! i'm thinking maybe alv or link since they are more adventure characters! maybe they stumble across her or even using httyd verse they could come across the viking lands and meet her and learn about that. or if you think rivet would be trying to find a way home like the verse says maybe she could hear about hyrule for link in specific which has portals to other worlds and time travel all sorts of things we could figure out!! these aren't common knowledge but maybe she could have found something in a book link would help if they met!

jolteon: using your crossover verse again for this one! though i could totally make a pokemon verse (especially if there is a verse/setting you've been wanting to use! and if i make a pokemon maybe even pikachu interactions) if you are interested. but i still like the idea i mention before of hildr discovering jolteon and trying to help him out. he'd be scared i'm sure after escaping his captors but hildr would do her best to give him the best life and lots of love!

merlin: i love merlin so much as you know one of my favorites. i would love to use one of my magical characters: hildr (light magic), alv (earth magic), or amoret (necromancy/dark magic). i feel like any of these would work very well and have an interesting dynamic! hildr is sweet but sassy too. i feel like if she ever visited camelot it may be post series since her kingdom does have elemental magic but not much. or she could hide it while meeting with whichever setting you want in the series ! alv is just an forest elf knight. i feel we could have fun merlin has a lot of adventures so he could stumble across him i'm sure! and amoret i feel could be very interesting. if she ever visited camelot she would have to keep her magic hidden. she's not a bad person usually wants to help and can be a hired mercenary even.

zhen: since she has a fairy tale/shrek verse i think this could fit very well! i feel like an interaction with her and hildr could be interesting. being a royal maybe she steals from her or something related to that? cyneric could also be interesting for that reason! he has a huge castle all by himself i'm sure there are tons of riches to choose from. and maybe even her and amoret could work together as hired mercenary or something?

When people reuse plots / interactions / dynamics for me, when I'm just shipping fodder, when people pikachu face when I assert boundaries, when people make this hobby a little bit more personal than it needs to be (ie… tethering their mental health onto me when I’m just here to write Kogami </3).

PLOTS OR MEMES. A little bit of both — whichever gets the “hey imagine our characters in these scenarios” juices pumping first. More often than not, plotting!

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES.  Listen, I might take 9273827382 years to reply — or even the speed of light … but i vastly prefer long replies. I have so much room to play around with the English language and inner dialogue with longer replies it’s insane!! Not to mention it feels like a verbal waltz with my partner as we continuously raise the reply bars for each other, the nuances of each other’s writings, so on and so forth.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES? A bit, but quite different in a number of ways. Kogami is probably a bit more Patient than i am … and THATS saying something since he does have an impulsive and impatient streak all on his own. He’s probably got a better moral compass than me — if we were both morally grey characters, I’m probably the one to make more menacing decisions whereas he’s done more eye for an eye type blows. I write him to be Lao — and I also write him with similar neurodivergency as myself ( bipolar disorder, audhd, and more I don’t care to share the pedigree of ) but I generally regard him as his own wolf that I tend to.

1) Who was your first starter?

Turtwig!! I was pretty late to the game for Pokemon, but I adore him!! Sadly, I really don't use the line very much bc they're weak/allergic to everything

11) List your top 6 favorite Pokemon

1. Espeon!! I had one in my og Diamond file that just blasted through everything and that's what put it on my radar. I also love its simple and elegant design and I'd love to have one follow me around. I also really like the emphasis on bond and trust in all its dex entries

2. Raichu - it's just so big and looks so nice and soft and pudgy to hold and hug. And also absolutely strong enough to decimate my enemies. It also seems like the least loved member of the Pika-line, (most of its anime appearances are basically Raichu slander lol) but Alolan Raichu is nothing but soft pancake-loving perfection

3. Lucario - bit of a basic choice but i will always love this reliable ace. It was also one of my friend's favorite pokemon who helped get me into Pokemon, so there's the nostalgia points there. And no one can deny that Lucario's movie was, and still is, an absolute banger

4. Ponyta - again with the nostalgia play, but Ponyta was the first pokemon i learned. (I guess separate fun fact is that my first pokemon I learned wasn't Pikachu). I also grew up riding horses and still do, and the little childhood desire of being able to ride and own a literal fire horse has not subsided. It's also got a real cute face

5. Hisuian Arcanine - Kantoian Arcanine has always hovered near the top of my favorites list, but when the Hisuian form came out? Instant top. I love it's design and also it's callback to historic asian guard dogs. Also who could resist a giant fluffy dog to help hunt down your enemies and then lower your heating bill in the winter?

6. Meowscarada - after a lot of internal debate, I've gotta give the last spot to my Scarlet ace. Initially, I actually hated how the final form of our grass cat looked, but it's definitely grown on me (though the puffy sleeves and weird hand-paws are still problem but we're fixing that in fanart wut). And working to develop my ScarVio muse’s Meowscarada’s personality and arc for my slew of fics that hopefully will make it out of google docs one day lol has also endeared it to me. Also Scarvio has been the first mainline Pokemon game to really grab me since XY, so Meowscarada gets points for that too

Honorable mentions (bc that last choice was hard) - Eevee, Buizel, Absol, Torterra and Latios

22) - If you were a gym leader, what would your typing/theme be?

I love that this question says theme, because I've always wondered how Gym Leaders and E4 end up specializing in types. Besides for Misty, I don't remember anyone in canon who wasn't already a gym leader deciding to specialize in only one type (yeah I know Misty becomes a gym leader, but when she battled Ash in like. ep maybe 7, she barely was). Because they must've had mixed teams when they were up and coming trainers, winning leagues and challenging Champions and such. I much prefer some of the mixed teams of the ScarVio teachers in the Academy Ace tournament and then Battle Frontier brains in the anime that have a unifying theme instead. Like an international gym with all final forms of starters would be cool

As for me, it's so basic, but I'd love an Eeveelution gym with Eevee as the ace, maybe with Gmax, even though I haven't finished Shield yet. But if I had to pick a type, I think I'd go Fire-type with Hisuian Arcanine as my ace, along with Ponyta/Rapidash, Hisuian Typhlosian, Delphox, Houndoom, and maybe Salazzle

1/19/24 "Norakuro" JPT 3702

Comparing today's reading ("The Atemporality of Manga and Anime" by Saito) with the "Norakuro" manga series, I'd have to say that I unfortunately disagree with certain aspects of temporality's arguments, especially using Norakuro as counterevidence. Saito describes atemporality in Japanese media as a timeless feature that transcends any specific time frame, age group, or genre, and cements itself as a permanent manga feature. Saito cited many popular features, such as speed lines, the stretching of time and space to accommodate the character's perception of events in certain scenes (Kairological time), certain 'timeless' characters and pieces, and that manga is *faster* than its American counterparts. My first thought before I read through the manga was the blunt evaluation in that Norakuro looked like a ripoff Disney charater. Further google searching determined that that was because Norakuro actually *was* inspired by Felix the Cat, an American cartoon character. At the time of his conception, American cartoons were booming, as it was the silent film era, and it was Japan who drew large inspiration from American comics and cartoons. The article mentions features such as "speed lines" being timeless features of Japanese media, but if that's the case, why is it seen so often as well in American media? It could be argued that speed lines are generally just a good way to show movement, and are a timeless feature of cartoonism rather than just manga. Another criticism I face this article with regards "timeless" characters, a feature I think is both present and not present within Japanese cartoons/manga, as is with many other cultures. Norakuro is a wonderfully illustrated and memorable character, but many Japanese children do not know him today like they do Doraemon or Pikachu. American children have their equivalent counterparts: the iconic Mickey Mouse and the not-so-famous Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Timelessness doesn't feel like a core essence of manga at all, especially when thousands of not-so-famous and generic manga come out every season only to be forgotten. It's important to step back and see manga as something other than a whole, but rather many interconnected and intriguing parts with unique influences. Manga is, in general, a form of storytelling. It is often influenced by its time, its muses, the authors themselves. It's easy to mistake certain parts of manga as timeless, but it would be better to see why certain aspects of manga have stayed the way they were for so long, instead of just assuming that manga has intrinsic, atemporal qualities that are specific to its medium.

So getting around to making a Tera Type chart for my Muses' Pokemon. Yes, all the Pokemon World's crazy gimmicks are in that world...Megas since the ancient rift opened up and really screwed with things, Dynamax/Gigantamaz is an artificial creation based on Eternatus by our usual trove of wacky scientists (also responsible for Ultra Beasts arriving and next year in-universe the Paradoxes). And when said paradoxal rifts are opened by said scientists, Tera Crystals.

Now, with Megas and Gigantamax it's easy. If a 'mon is capable of doing that, they can...end of story. But since Tera is type shifting I need to record it. And while a lot of the times they have their regular type (or secondary even if it comes later in evolution as these forms would be gained after they'd fully evolved) I do naturally change it up from time to time.

Some of the more fun/interesting ones are under a cut. Many of which are inside jokes...

Teefa has an Alolan Ninetales and Hisuian Zoroark. As before those variants were introduced they were the original variants, Foxy has a Fire Tera and Kit a Dark Tera.

Lufia's Pikachu has been called Blaze since this thing's inception. Many of the Pokemon were named for my regular nickname for that 'mon. And Blaze was named for the Capsule Monster of Fire from Lufia II because of this really dumb thing I did as a kid where I narrated TV shows as if various other game characters were acting on them. So a good number of my Gen I nicknames were from this and references to Lufia I or II monsters/the CMs...and not always chosen with Type in mind if the 'mon seemed like it worked! This long winded tangent is all to say that Blaze's Tera Type is Fire.

Likewise, Burianne has a Persian. Meowth in that same stupid narration was Freeze as I wanted the enemy team's Pokemon to have a fitting opposite nickname. So her Persian is Ice Tera.

Samantha's Lopunny is Fighting Tera for Lopunny's Mega. Her Mienshao is Flying due to an inside joke about how aerial that 'mon can be.

Phoebe's Meowscarada is Fairy due to her aromatherapy. I mean, Play Rough is in its moveset...mine had it to deal with other Dark Types.

Lufia has a Typhlosion that is Ghost Tera in reference to the Hisuian Form though hers is the Johtonian one. Ditto with Alley's Rock Tera Arcanine that is a normal Kantonian Arcanine.

Rutee's Meganium is Dragon Type due to its dinosaur look. Her Incineroar is Fighting and Cinderace is Electric due to fans whining that those aren't those two 'mons secondary types and me loving people's salt.

Terrie's Sunflora is Fire for some dumb in-jokes about her in Warrior Academy along with one thing people have often said should happen to a theoretical Sunflora Evo.

The Three Lycanroc of Rutee and her niece and nephew are a trio reference. Elliot's Midday Lycanroc is Fire Tera, Lina's Midnight Lycanroc is Dark Tera, Rutee's Dusk Lycanroc is Electric...the sun, the moon, and just how energy comes from light.

Finally...the Eeveelutions used by Rutee, Stahn, and Philia are all references to the "missing" Eevee Types. Vapor=Ghost (can turn invisible in Water), Jolt=Flying (other air-based Type), Flare=Rock (magma is melted rock and heat relates to fire), Espy=Fighting (exact opposite), Umbry=Poison (there are refs to Umbreon and poisons and it seems it was originally planned to be Poison Type according to beta leaks), Leefa=Ground (two Types referencing nature), Glace=Steel (both Types that are often created with defensive stats), Sylvie=Bug (along with Flying it was one of the most commonly guessed Types for Sylveon before Fairy was revealed).

Going with above to continue the gag, Kyle's Flareon Scruff is Normal Tera (he uses Last Resort as one of his moves) and Emmy's Sylveon Sakura is Dragon (left over plus she's a kid who enjoys magic much more than her brother or cousins on either side of the family).
