Our @beyondexped #BeyondLockdown Expedition with @isuzusa may be over, but there are hundreds of stories still to tell :-) . . From Tannie Katrina Matthys and her delicious #roosterkoek, outstanding @piekenierskloofwine #grenache & the unmatched hospitality shown by @monikadejager & her #VisitNWC Team, the @namaquawestcoast make for a memorable adventure! Here's a quick throwback to what went down on the Weskus :-) . . The hunt for #headspace on our 4th road trip saw us going feral along the insanely rugged #namaquawestcoast shores. Ocean-side sea cliffs soar above the tempestuous Atlantic Ocean & the Viswater #trail traverses one of the most dramatic sections of coast in all of the #RSA. . . This is feel-good country, for sure, and you can sense the benefits to your mind, body and soul as you breathe in the sea air, and reconnect with the real world. Time in the #greatoutdoors is the best natural medicine to counter stress, anxiety and all the pressures forced upon us by our hectic lives, and one way to slow it all down is a visit to the Weskus. . . Best of all, if you visit to #playlocal and #staylocal, you end up supporting #tourism at grass-roots level, and will change the lives of people dependent on your contribution to local economy. The Hunt for #headspace ... On Monday, our @beyondexped #BeyondLockdown Expedition, driven by @isuzusa, sets off from Cape Town. This 9000km road trip will follow remote roads through South Africa, and along the way, we plan to visit 9x community tourism projects, one in each of the nine provinces. Our hope is to re-ignite #localtourism through highlighting and promoting these community adventures, and by enticing people to visit the breathtaking landscapes within which they are set. And as part of the process, we will create a full quiver of visual collateral - including professional Stills, 360 Degree Imagery, Aerial Footage and broadcast-quality Video – for each of these off-the-beaten-track destinations with which to market themselves. We've decided to kickstart the adventure with one of our most favourite regions in all of SA: the Namaqua West Coast. The first #localislekker stop will be at @piekenierskloofwine before we hook up with @monikadejager and the #visitNWC Crew. Our story here will capture the 'Search for the Big One', and we will join local fishermen and crayfish divers as they dip into the Big Blue in search of the bountiful treasures of the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, we will endeavour to find characters who can best share the quirky stories, culture, history and cuisine of the #namaquawestcoast, and will then amplify their message across all our #BeyondExpeditions, #IsuzuSA and personal #SM Platforms. As usual, Chief Adventurer @petervankets, @peterkirkmedia and @zaneschmahl of #oZONE will be joining #DieOom as we capture these wonderful #playlocal and #staylocal opportunities.
