Saw some great lichens today on a very high quality rock

Oh wow, that is a SUPER high quality rock. One of my favorites I can see there is the little coral-looking, yellow-orange, fruticose Sphaerophorus globosus. They make weird, sphere-like fruting bodies that bust open and release a powdery black spore mass!

I really miss livejournal friend groups and the concept of showing some posts only to mutuals

Just... writing personal things somewhere where friends could see them in case they are interested but without it being imposing. And without having to write them in a public blog

There are discord servers, of course, but they create an expectation to reply and I don't want that

#like vacation photos for example #I don't want to broadcast that to the whole internet #but maybe I want to take pictures of all the cool lichen I find #or maybe my contemplations about me possibly being on the aro spectrum (or not)#no one really needs that #not even my friends #especially not strangers #but maybe someone would resonate #you never know #I want the privacy of a discord server and the casualness of a public blog #where do I get it these days

#most of my time up in the mountains was admiring all the lichen. my family can attest #i unfortunately only got these pictures :( i wanted to take more but we were busy setting up for the wedding #there was such a pretty patch near the back entrance that i wasnt able to get a photo of and im sad about it #but these were taken while my mom‚ dad‚ and brother decorated the arch!#there was also lambs ear growing in the yard!!!! so cool #i got two pictures of them :)#looking it up‚ they are known to spread over yards 😬 that explains why they were all over lol #i only took four pictures while there and all of them were plants*#it was very pretty up there :) also incredibly cold

It always brings me joy when I see people on the streets stopping to take pictures. Maybe they saw a bird or a flower. Maybe the light hit on that old building just right and made it look magical. Maybe they’re just like me and can’t resist snapping a picture of a happy cat.
