this set consists of three body hairs you can use for arms and legs and can be used on all frames. more details and pics under the cut

each body hair comes in a single swatch that should work with most (if not all) hair colors given how light they are.

One thing of note: thanks to @applewatersugar, I updated the uv mapping on the single bed using their beard tutorial so it is now aligned to double bed mapping. This means that some of my bedding won't look great on others' customs or TS2 single beds. There are very few that just look "off" (default replacements are pictured with TS2 bed). pic under the cut

Another thing of note: LordCrumps gave me permission to reupload the Horse Ranch beds + For Rent bed so it's all in one place. The single beds are updated with the new bed UV. If you have his, delete them. I did not convert/include the murphy bed because HugeLunatic did everything I would do here. So...maybe not all the beds lol

👁️Overview 

Late last year, I rather belatedly discovered Mononoke’s 15th anniversary came and went, and with it, an entire swath of new content to manically pore over. This is an illustration of the various Mononoke merchandise, props, and set dressing I discovered.

🔎Scope

Some fun facts regarding the work that went into this illustration!

Not including research time, this project ran for roughly two months, consuming much of my waking hours outside of my full time and freelance jobs.

While the illustration does not depict all of my findings, it does feature over 120 unique props and set dressings!

The majority of the props and set dressing were modeled to varying degrees of detail in SketchUp.

To model prep, I often put together schematics on Photoshop or Illustrators. Some were created from scratch. Others were created with the liberal usage of the Photoshop transform and perspective warp function. 

The master file is 1.5GB. The dimensions are 6400x3600 at 300 dpi, and contains over 2,200 layers. 

Near the end of production, the master file became so unwieldy I created a separate working file. This way, I could create assets lag-free then import the layers into the master file.

🗳️3D Layout

As you can see, the backbone of this illustration is the 3D model. I spent perhaps 30-40% of my production time on this stage.

And this is the lit version. The lighting ultimately got downplayed in favor of showcasing the vibrant colors. I like how simple it looks though!

🎬Production-Based Set Dressing

In addition to merchandise, I wanted to insert set dressing and props from the various Mononoke productions. 

🦊Kusuriuri

It’s odd to have a section dedicated just to him, but his unique appearance warrants it. His garb and overall appearance is an amalgam of the anime and movie. The original intent was ambiguity– kind of like the blue/black vs. yellow/white dress phenomena a few years back. But after doing the color flats, I rather liked how the rich, unaltered colored fit with the overall composition so it became more blatant. I’m surprised that nobody has commented on this since I published the illustration. Maybe because I didn’t feature him in a close-up?

🐈 kai ~Ayakashi~Bake Neko (2006)

Finding props iconic to this story arc (outside of the Kusuriuri’s tools of trade, of course) was somewhat difficult. While the environment was richly decorated, it mainly consisted of 2D artwork which I wasn’t keen on retracing. I opted to paint objects that characters interacted with or featured heavily in the show.

☂️Mononoke: Karakasa (2024)

Pretty slim pickings for the new movie since I only had the teaser, first trailer, and movie poster to reference from. Kusuriuri’s tools of trade were a given, but finding memorable and narratively significant objects was a tad troublesome.

Thankfully, the set dressing ended up (however subconsciously) strikingly similar to the movie’s environment design, down to the green tatami and multicolor shoji screen. I suppose at this point I was so immersed in Mononoke content that its aesthetics subconsciously informed my design choices!

made a papercraft for a physical secret santa! my person received it, so i can finally post it >:D i drew this piece digitally, and then arranged the layers and formatted it for my machine cutter (yep i have an machine cutter, so dont give me too much credit for magolors awful gear patterns lmao). then, assembled it with glue and foam pieces

i made an optional bandana attachment for the waddle dee on the side. we love bandee :)

it ended up not mattering in the end (of course, the pieces were all layered too closely) but i did take care to ensure each layer of the craft was distinct and could be standalone. was super fun, honestly! im a digital artist primarily, but theres nothing like being able to handle and make your art physically. theres a lot of intricacy in the paper layering thats not visible in pictures. ive been getting a lot more into physical arts recently with this papercraft, clay sculpting, and stop motion, on top of traditional like pen+paper and painting

Some of you guys asked me if I'd be willing to share this build so here it is! 🐸 It's an old apartment building in San Myshuno where its tenants have figured out a creative way to utilize their rooftop spaces.

The lot is 30x30 and it has 4 floors on which the 4 apartments are located and the 3rd and the 4th apartment have access to the rooftops that are fully functional. There's not much cc that comes with this lot (it's only half furnished inside, but your simmies can move in right away) and I have included most of it, but there are some sets that are too big, so I think it's better if you get them yourself (the list is under the cut + the floor plan pics). I did not 'mark' the apartments with the For Rent expansion 'cause sometimes it would be a little buggy for me and I didn't want it to get borked for you, so please do it yourself! Also, I have all the packs.

I think the only thing I left out otherwise was the unitard... wasn't feeling it, personally. Don't forget to grab the butterfly top from @lucilla-sims! The hoop style earrings are not compatible with all hairstyles.
