Ahhh, the annual Autumn Festival’s Barn Dance. It was the perfect excuse to dress in something vintage and still maintain an heir of summer about her, even if it didn’t quite keep in the same colour scheme. What would a person wear to a barn dance, anyway? The vast majority of her closet were sundresses and platform heels. The least she could do was try to blend in.

Lily had to go out to purchase her outfit for the barn dance specifically, owning nothing suitable other than an old tartan shirt. When she returned from her shopping trip and hung the new dress in her wardrobe, it looked extremely out of place amongst her style, with all its fringe. But if she thought of it as more of a costume, she felt less insecure about it. At least she should fit right in!

Autumn happened to be the one time of year when Gareth could dress as he normally did and still be perceived as normal by the public. Whether his outfit was considered normal by Barn Dance standards, he couldn’t care in the slightest. Donning the same robes he’d worn to royal council in the early 1800′s, he left his shoes rather garish and Halloween themed: his favourite time of year.

Given Molly’s very... intense? Loud? In your face? love of Halloween and, truly, any excuse to dress up, it was no surprise she was actually excited about the costume party--flitting about her room with an uncharacteristic bounce in her step and wide grin as she got ready. She’d actually, somewhere around the end of August/beginning of September, put together a more... out there costume, but it just so happened to be her birthday so she might as well dress up as exactly what she was--
A Princess, duh--a “cut out of the will” princess, granted, but it counts.
And so instead, she had put together a second costume, a somewhat manic combination of thrifted clothing and things she already owned--like the poofy skirt (if she remembered right, she’d actually made it years ago?) and white heels. She had to order the wig online and there were a few bits and pieces she had to make, like the giant earrings and the gem on her waistband, and a few alterations to be made, but when the costume party finally rolled around, all there was left to do was her makeup.
And take lots of cute selfies, of course--if only she had more than like... one friend to send them to. Least she could post them online, yeah?
#molly @ literally any princess character: (holding a locket with their picture in it) singing I Am A Girl Like You#she is a PRINCESS and no she doesnt take constructive criticism#pi:costumeparty#pi:closet#closet

[ Founding Celebration - Elli & Ellen ]
To be honest, Elli was apprehensive about going to the dance. It was on another island after all. She would have to sail there. Sure, it would be on a big ferry boat--something people kept assuring her was safe, but being on the open water with only the dark depths beneath her didn’t exactly put her at ease.
Lillie originally suggested meeting at the dance. When Elli mentioned it to Granny her whole face lit up, going on about how wonderful the idea was. Elli didn’t even get to finish her thought of not wanting to go. But seeing how excited Granny was Elli couldn’t bring herself to say no.
Before Elli knew it the two of them were on a boat to what had to be the biggest event of the year. Everyone around her was dressed to the nines. Even Granny pulled out all the stops for her gown.
“This will be a night to remember,” Granny said with a sparkle in her eye. Elli hoped she was right.

[ Founding Celebration Dance - Arthur D. Lawrence ]
In his youth the sight of a ballroom used to instill Arthur with dread, a deep yearning to tear off his royal skin and defenestrate himself using the nearest window. Nowadays, in these golden years of his, there was something quite charming about a room full of elegantly dressed men and women. The flutter of capes and the trains of gowns, the clatter of heeled shoes upon marble floors.
The aesthetic was quite lovely.
To say he enjoyed them would still be quite the stretch, but the adorable lengths people went to in order to spruce themselves up was endearing enough to swallow whatever preconceptions he’d held heavily in his heart. A dance or ten would surely make the most of the night, and it would be quite lackluster of him to let an occasion like this simply pass him by.

[ Founding Celebration Dance - Kiel Adalhard ]
The moment his older sister had turned her gaze Kiel had started to untuck his shirt and pull the necklace out from underneath his collar. Dress shoes that were a half-size too tight were flung across his bedroom, knocking over a lamp, and a pair of rose colored sneakers were shoved on his feet instead.
Kiel couldn’t wait to enjoy the dance and soak in all the juicy drama that would undoubtedly take place that night. All he needed was fuel for his article due a few days from now, and this was exactly the place to find it.

Normally, Alex wouldn’t dress himself in full black tie unless absolutely necessary. But after arriving at the venue and drinking the potion, the masked assistants ushered him into a three-piece suit and bow tie and he didn’t resist, too preoccupied with the effects of the potion. Why did he feel so light...?

Dorothy was still new to the whole manga and comic thing, but she had fallen in love with a few shoujo titles and begged Emily to help her make a costume to match with Lyric’s. Considering her newly acquired feline, the kitty costume seemed the best option.
She was still incredibly nervous about going to Leuda, and if Lyric hadn’t promised to escort her, she might have just stayed at home, but... There was something about having a... Boyfriend... That gave her the courage to make the journey.

Was it a little excessive to have *two* costumes for Halloween? Maybe, but when you got to Ayame’s age, you had fun wherever you could. In this case, wearing a generic angel costume during the day, and changing into a plague doctor costume at night. The latter of course she hoped to use to troll people a little bit. Scaring people on Halloween was part of the fun. Besides, what couple didn’t like a little scare to send them into the arms of their beloved? Or their crush, if they hadn’t gotten to that couple stage yet?
It wasn’t like she had anyone to attend a party with, so she would do her best to have a little bit of fun this year. Besides, it wasn’t like anyone would recognize her with that huge mask on anyway. And if it was too scary, she would just make sure to stash her original costume somewhere, in case she needed to change in a hurry.
Happy Halloween indeed.

Another Masquerade, huh? Well, this time the nun made sure she wasn’t going to wear any masks, not go by any different aliases- just herself. As Aurelia Rivera. Nothing more, nothing less. Honestly, she just came here with a friend to help them conduct research over the potions and effects of turning a bunch of people into 16 year olds. Also, she heard that Ying may be at this thing too- and the woman worried about if the potions making the child older. Might as well keep an eye on her, don’t want no horny teenagers taking advantage of a child. Or there will be hell to pay.
“Down the hatch it goes.”
Upon taking the potion, Aurelia felt a rush of emotions she hadn’t had in ages. Her height was still the same, and her figure was smaller- more lean and lighter. The teen squinched her nose while she frowned at the image in the mirror. At least her outfit looked hella. As if she were ready to spray paint some walls and break in to some places to get some sweet, sweet, booze. Wait. That’s not responsible. Hopefully she’ll keep her wits about her. And no, she ain’t applying to be prom king or queen- that’s not her forte.

Lily usually favoured one-piece swimming costumes, but she saw a bikini in the store that she couldn’t resist. The bottoms were high-waisted and the top came low so there wasn’t too much extra skin on show. Plus, most of the time it would be hidden behind a crochet beach-coverup that would hopefully protect her pale skin from the summer sun. Still, looking in the mirror, she felt cute.

After getting a little bit of help, Chelsea had finally managed to get an outfit together for the Harvest Festival. She had never been to anything quite like it on the mainland, and considering how she had lived, the few dresses she had were either deemed inappropriate, or were just plain old black.
This was definitely not her usual style, but she had to admit, it was kinda nice. She just hoped this trip was worth putting more money on her credit card for, in regard to taking the ferry across. It was to be her first time in Arcadia and she hoped the people there were as nice as the people in Leuda had been so far.
“Even if I’m just a wall flower, it should be entertaining.”
At least it was time off from work.

[ BEACH DAY ]
Felicity wouldn’t be going out in the water, but she could enjoy the day still. Or she hoped. Ever since reverting back to her adult self, illness and all, she’d been feeling much more down on herself. Getting out was her way of trying to cheer herself up but somehow, the idea of watching everyone else run around while she sat still just sounded even more depressing.

If Tori was really to look like someone else for the whole night, maybe she wouldn’t feel so nervous. After all, no one would be able to tell who she was. Being someone else for a whole night while dressed up sounded, well...magical.
Except, looking in the mirror, all Tori received was her original anxiety over tenfold, while looking wide-eyed at a younger version of herself. The potions must’ve gotten mixed up; there was no way this could be a coincidence. And she was already in the fray. Oh dear...

[ Harris Brown - Sweet 16 Switcheroo ]
Stepping onto Arcadia made Harris nervous. He felt like Celia would burst around every corner, berating him for even thinking about stepping foot on the island let alone actually doing it.
But he’d been convinced to go to the masquerade. After all the whole point was that no one would know who you are. He could easily avoid Celia this way and maybe have a night of fun.
That was his hope before drinking the potion.
He was assured the mixture would alter his appearance for the masquerade, but as he stared into the mirror in the changing room all he saw was his younger self staring right back at him.
His hair was a mess, although his younger self would have thought it was styled just right. Then there was the concern of his clothes. He’d came dressed in a nice suit, but now... He looked like a goddamn hoodlum.
In the pit of his stomach a ball of nerves formed, making him want to do anything but enter the ballroom. He didn’t belong here. Strange, Harris thought, that’s exactly the way I felt during my entire childhood. And judging by his reflection he was around the age when he’d ran away from home.
Harris lifted the hood over his head, hoping he could at least hide his face a little since he no longer had a mask to hide behind. Maybe Celia wouldn’t recognize him. It was the best he could hope for. And if she did...
He’d run away.
