The dreadful moments have passed and I am finally carrying the baby we’ve been waiting to see for so long. His cries echoed the operating theater of KKH in Singapore the moment he was out of me. His voice is a bit deeper than other baby’s shrieks. 😂 But I like his own uniqueness. Mikhail is such a blessing to feeding milk, not much of an issue with regurgitating. He sleeps well at night. But of course he must be woken up regardless.

I worried a lot after finding out he has G6PD deficiency. There are meds or foods he couldn’t consume but it is not much. And because of this deficiency his bilirubin level is quite high which means his liver need to perform well enough before he gets discharged. He stayed 5 longer than me in the hospital’s NICU to receive photolight. We visit him during those days. I worried a lot and couldn’t sleep at night at home. But even after the 5 days of NICU, we still need to bring him back and forth the hospital to the see pediatrician until he’s stable. It took about an extra 3 weeks. That’s a month worth of admission. His photos in some of his early stages are showing signs of yellowish eyes and skin.

He went past it, eventually! Such a strong boy! 😍

Meet Pete, the rabbit. This is the first toy Mike’s ever had which we’d bought in Mothercare-KKH, just a few days after I got discharged. Probably 22nd of Jan 2023. Mike had to stay longer than me to stay in NICU though, due to his bilirubin levels - he had to get photolights done to keep it in normal state! Poor baby. 🥹
