I cannot take the Olympics anymore. athletes are dropping out bc the Seine made them sick. Athletes are sleeping in parks because accommodations are terrible. Vinesh Phogat (India) is disqualified from her gold medal final because she is a 100gms overweight (which is insane btw). Media, reporters and coaches are being racist af towards SEA and Asian athletes. Imane Khelif had to face persecution over her body and gender because someone was a sore loser.

ok so if chinese swimmers are fast as hell and broke records/won medals, they are doping; if an algerian female boxer knocks out her weak opponent in under a minute, she's transvestigated and if an indian athlete is 100 grams overweight, she's disqualified without anybody challenging the decision BUT a dutch man is allowed to play on the beach volleyball national team even after raping a 12 year old... pretty interesting in my opinion

I am so horribly disappointed by the Paris Olympics, I can't even frame a sentence without having to take a pause to just scream in fury.

Vinesh Phogat from India was the first wrestler ever, man or woman, to reach the finals and have the opportunity to play the Indian National Anthem at the Olympics. She usually always played in the under 53kg category but due to some issues, she went with under 50kg.

She then went on to ANNIHILATE all competition by winning so wonderfully, it made all Indians proud. She won the semifinals, progressed to finals and even had an opportunity to win it. However, at night, she realised she'd gained roughly 3kg and wouldn't be able to participate with that weight. She ran on a treadmill with thick jackets on, sat in a hot sauna, didn't eat or drink anything and, in desperation, cut her hair off. After all this effort, her reading was 50.1kg and she was eliminated from the Olympics.

The weight of 100g pushed her back to the last position, not even letting her get her well-deserved silver medal. Due to severe dehydration, she fainted on the venue and was later admitted in a hospital. Just today, she announced her retirement.

In spite of not winning the gold medal, she is a champion, not only because of her other accomplishments, but because of her relentless support and participation in the wrestlers' protest against the then chief of Wrestling Federation of India for sexual harrasment. She spent months on the streets of New Delhi to get the government to do something and nearly threw all her medals in the River Ganga to get the authorities to act. She was a champion through and through. Gold medallist or not, she truly is gold.

Vinesh phogat (india) did not deserve her medal to be taken away. The gold was hers. She defeated japan's yui susaki, who has never been defeated by an international player and was the Tokyo olympics' champion in the round of 16. She was the first indian woman to reach wrestling finals at the olympics. And they dis qualified her for being 100 g overweight. That's literally 50.1 kg. Brown women can't win

AND INDIAN AUTHORITIES JUST ACCEPTED IT?? Didn't even challenge it??

Wrestling matches happen over two days. She reached semis on day 1. She met the weight category then. If you're not going to allow her to fight for the gold at least give her silver?? She earned that much

You can't tell me this was not sabotage. She did not deserve this for fighting for safe environment for other wrestlers. Shame on the WFI and our government

Edit : on 8 August Vinesh has announced her retirement from wrestling. She said that she did not have the strength any longer and that wrestling has won against her. Sending all my love and support to her.. she will be remembered for her courage and bravery ❤️

Imagine playing your final Olympics and being pushed to a 50kg category because someone was already selected for the 53 kg category from your country, BUT still making it to the finals, BUT then dehydrating yourself and chopping off all your hair just to avoid being disqualified because you are 0.1 kg overweight.

AND STILL. BEING. DISQUALIFIED.

Shameful and disgusting that a rapist is playing in the Olympics but a woman wrestler was disqualified from the final for being a few grams overweight!?!

I get that there's rules in games and all, but how do these rules allow literal criminals to participate but not a deserving woman just barely over 50 kg

But I guess anything goes if you're a man.

Idk about Olympics rules but seriously? Disqualified just coz she weighed 100 grams more than 50? She could have lost 100 grams all thanks to rigorous training before the tournament.

Vijendra Singh, our Olympic medal-winning boxer, said that as professional athletes they are capable of shedding 5-6 kgs overnight. Vinesh is no amateur and it is an absolute joke that she was disqualified for a mere 100 gms. Do these Olympic authorities really expect us to believe this bs?

Here is what he said,

"I think it might be sabotage. 100gm, you have got to be kidding me. We athletes can shed 5 to 6kg overnight. It is difficult no doubt but we know how to control our hunger, thirst, and exert to the extreme".

"And when I say sabotage I mean people who are not happy to see India rise as a sporting nation. This girl has been through so much, your heart breaks for her. What more could she have done? Which other test?"

Mahavir Phogat also said that if a wrestler is 50-100 grams overweight they are usually allowed to play.

A similar thing happened with our men's hockey team as well. Amit Rohidas, who should've been given at max a yellow card and 15-minute time-out, was given a red card and suspended for the next match as well. He hadn't done anything that merited such a harsh punishment.

India was forced to play without a key player for two matches over nothing.

Paris Olympics 2024 is such a fucking embarrassment.

I feel so mentally fucked right now. They just couldn't see her success, they just couldn't see India getting a medal. Fuck Olympics. Fuck Paris Olympics.

Allowing a child rapist into the game is a very genuine and normal move for them. Yeah ofcourse who the FUCK cares whether the guy raped someone? On an international sports stage, who the FUCK cares about him being a criminal, a RAPIST?

A biologically identified male woman (No hates to her)who was disqualified from the last year's boxing championship, played with the suggested testosterone levels in limit against someone who was unable to bear her punch and "had been hit harder than ever and feared her nose was broken" was condemned and basically abused by the world and was FULLY supported by her country's committee, and very fortunately not disqualified, while the Olympics Association made ZERO attempts to justify and clear out the claims.

But 150 grams, oh sorry 100 gram is TOO fucking much for a 50kg Women's wrestling game and thus, she stands disqualified, loosing her VERY deserving chance to compete in finals as well as an already achieved silver medal after beating a previously unbeatable wrestler. And Indian Olympics Association proceeds to accept the decision very calmly. THE AUDACITY?

The complex of these western countries is JUST SO FUCKIN LOUD AND CLEAR RIGHT NOW.

Also it's TOO SHADY TO SIMPLY GET DISQUALIFIED AFTER WHATEVER SHE HAS BEEN THROUGH IN THE PAST YEAR, THE WHOLE SEXUAL ASSAULT PROTEST.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WHERE THE FUCKING FUCK WAS THERE WEIGHT CHECKING RULE AND CRITERIA WHEN SHE WAS PLAYING IN SEMIFINAL. WHERE WAS THE WEIGHT CRITERIA WHEN SHE WON IN SEMIFINAL? WHY WAS THIS CRITERIA NOT TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE THE PREVIOUS GAME?

And the fucking coaches, dietitians. WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY BEEN DOING? THOSE PIECES OF PURE TRASH WERE UNABLE TO PERFORM THEIR OWN ONE FUCKING JOB

This year's Olympics were absolutely the worst.

We get a CHILD RAPIST being allowed to play in the Olympics without any backlash but they draw a line when one coloured woman 'hits too hard' in a BOXING COMPETITION and another coloured woman is just a 100 grams overweight which, let me remind you, is the weight of two eggs.
